me doing completely normal things vs. my mother telling me to not do them since i was 5 y/o bc "that's smth men do"
#rena.txt#well maybe i'm a girl i'm a boy i'm a squid in this giant aquarium called earth!!!!#and i'm talking about such normal things. when i was 5 she gave me shit bc i really liked a movie we had on videotape that in her opinion#was 'for boys'. it's crazy how some things of your childhood stick with u forever it's like i can still hear her say 'you shouldn't watch#that it's for boys'. it was a silly movie about robots or smth like that. and to this day she still gives me shit for my hair and says#they are too short. when i was 17 she said 'with hair like that you look like a boy. no man will ever want you' WHO TF CARES!!!!!#i've been dipping into randomly using he/him in italian for myself lately. he/she/whatever the fuck bc we don't have they in italian. yea#idk what's up with all of that and tbh i'm scared of a journey about discovering gender just as i was scared when i began discovering my#sexuality. like gun pointed at my head if you asked me to pick a pronouns i would tell u to pull the trigger. that's why i don't have any#on my profile/bio but the absence also makes me upset bc then i'm scared that ppl will just assume i use she/her and like. tbh i don't mind#any pronouns but the idea that someone would immediately pick she for me makes me sick. i don't feel like a woman i don't feel like a man i#feel like nothing at all but also much more than the stupid gender binary shit. idk i'm scared of calling myself nb i'm scared of discovery#ok i began crying after typing this i guess that i care about this more than i thought ops lmao

Death
Death was nothing new in Marinette’s life. In fact it played a large role. Her friends and city had died a hundred times over. Her brother. Her funny, smart, loving, dramatic brother had died at the hands of a mad man. She didn’t think it was wrong for her to use the horse miraculous to visit her brother's grave. It was officially five years after all. He would be 20, he would have loved to plan out her 16th birthday this year. She sat down and read Pride and Prejudice out loud, only a few tears falling as she glanced at the grave every so often. She had also brought a bouquet of white lilies, statices, red carnations, and white daisies. Soft grass laid over the dirt, the sun gleamed above, and sometimes when she would lean against the grave it was almost like she could feel him.
Dark storm clouds began to cloud the sky, and she knew she would have to leave soon, though she didn’t want to. Dad would be upset if he caught her, though considering how many weeds she had to remove from the grave and how abandoned it looked, she doubted anyone had visited any time soon. Suddenly the rain began to pour down and it felt like the earth shook. She felt a great imbalance, but where, and how? She touched both of her ears and she could feel her miraculous still there, Tikki even poked her head out from her bag with a look of fear. A shiver ran down Marinette’s spine as rain came pouring down soaking everything in sight. She looked around, and she kept spinning searching for something, anything that could have caused or been affected by the imbalance. She waited there for many minutes just waiting, when she felt the dirt beneath her feet begin to shift a little. She quickly moved away and watched as the dirt slowly moved and shifted. She felt sick, because the dirt moving was directly where Jason was lying in eternal rest. This couldn’t be right, this must be some mistake! Her brother had died, she had seen the body, it haunted her nightmares for so many nights. He’s been gone for five years! This can’t be possible without some type of wish.
The grass began to move and shift away, and a fleshy mud covered hand raised from the ground causing a scream to rip from her lungs. Her body sprung into action before her mind caught up to her beginning to help dig up her brother's grave, and when she saw the jet black hair covered in dirt and mud she knew that it was him. She heaved him out from the hole and stared in shocked horror as he just sat there staring at her. His eyes were the same blue she remembered, but they were so clouded. Fear, confusion, and nothing shown in his eyes, like he wasn’t even truly there. This must be a dream, it has to be, no, a nightmare. Her brother shouldn’t be back, he died, she saw his limp body in dad’s hands, even if Alfred and bluebird tried to stop her. But the imbalance was real, she could tell, and he was affected by it.
Slowly she raised her hand and hesitantly placed a hand on his cheek. He leaned into her hand, though his eyes were still clouded and void. He may be alive, but he wasn’t fully…alive. She tackled her older brother into a hug and began sobbing onto him, but just sat there, head leaning against hers. Pressing her ear against his chest she could hear his gentle heartbeat, and just for a moment everything seemed like it would be ok. Then she felt a sharp prick in her neck and the world faded to black.
________
Marinette awoke to darkness. She tried to sit up and felt her hands held behind her back being held together by something cold and thick. Memories flooded back into her mind and she snapped into awareness and looked around. It was dark, though there was a small light coming from a window far above where she could not ever reach. The walls seemed to be made of thick stones and there was a heavy iron door a few feet in front of her. Jason wasn’t there though, he wasn’t in the room, she didn’t understand. Suddenly the door opened and she looked up and saw her mother’s green eyes. Her panic grew again, how did she get here, was she captured too? She had visited her often in Paris. She was very vague about her job, and she knew it was probably sketchy, but could it be bad enough to be captured?
“Marinette, My Darling. I apologize for your treatment, I did not realize that you were part of this.”
Talia rushed towards her daughter and unlocked the chains. She was pulled into a tight hug that Marinette quickly returned. After a few moments she pulled away but held her shoulders gently.
“I must show you something, come.”
Talia quickly stood and helped her daughter to her feet and walked swiftly through the calls of Nanda Parabat.
“What is mom?”
Talia smiled at that, she had always loved when her daughter called her that.
“It’s a surprise, My Flower.”
A few more twists though hallways and they stopped in front of a thick wooden door.
“I want you to meet someone.”
The door was pushed open and there sat a small baby in a crip with dark black hair, tanned skin, and dark green eyes. Marinette gasped and covered her mouth,
“Meet your brother, Damian.”
Marinette slowly walked over and stared at Damian through the top of the crib. He silently watched and studied her without making a sound.
“He’s about 3 months old.”
Talia said, smiling happily as she watched her daughter run her fingers through Damian’s small tresses of hair. With a snap of her finger one of her shadows stepped next to her.
“Bring Jason.”
And with that order they were gone returning a few minutes later with a boy who was alive physically, but was mentally gone. She could fix that though, it would be the last resort if all else failed, but she could fix it. Marinette looked up when she heard Jason’s footsteps and her bright smile fell slightly into a small sad one.
“Jay-Jay.”
She whispered softly as she took slow steps towards the boy. She quickly ran and hugged him again. He no longer smelled like mud and he wasn’t wearing his suit, and he was….he was alive again! Tears fell down her cheeks, because she missed him so much.
________
Marinette stayed with her mom in what she learned was Nanda Parabat. She trained with Jason, but he was catatonic, just going through the motions blankly. It worried her, especially as she watched her mother grow more anxious. She cared for her little brother, and wondered if her dad knew, or if he would even care. She often looked at Paris news for when she needed to go for Akuma attacks, but if her host parents even realized she was gone. They hadn’t, nor had any of her “friends” apparently as they hadn’t sent her a single thing from the weeks she’s been gone.
Marinette knew that Nada Parabat wasn’t a good place, knew that the people were bad, knew that her grandfather was the head of it. He didn’t seem to care who she was, he just thought she was some nurse for Damian, and she was thankful for that. She knew that the Lazarus Pits were here, what they did, how they were made, how her grandfather used them for selfish purposes. She didn’t do anything though, she was mad at her father for sending her away, mad that he adopted a bee kid only a year after he sent her away, mad that he never talked to her, mad that Dick never fought for her or looked for her, mad that Jason was forced to wake up and climb his way out of his grave only to be practically brain dead, mad that her classmates believed lies over her, mad that her host parents believed them and treated her like dirt or an invisible object meant to seen and not heard, mad that Chat Noir would leave her during battles because she didn’t return his affections, and mad that no one cared that she was gone! So she trained as hard as she could, made sure that she perfected everything her mother threw at her. Took care of her family and made sure they knew how thankful she was for them and loved them. Then when she finally got a text from someone it was insults for being a horrible person and hurting Lila when she hadn’t been there for weeks!
She threw her phone at the wall and the crack echoed around the room. Her breathing was harsh and ragged and then the tears she had been holding back finally fell. Sobs wracked her body as she bit her lip to keep silent. She tried to take in deep shuddering breaths, but it was no use and the sobs came out. Her knees felt weak and she crumpled to the ground. The door burst open and she saw her mom there knife in hand looking around the room with swift deadly eyes. When she didn’t see any visible threats she kneeled in front of her daughter and looked directly into her eyes. Eyes a storming blue that flooded with tears and made her heart ache and her want to murder whoever made her precious daughter look so broken.
“My Flower, what’s wrong?”
“N-nobody cares ab-about me! No one cares that I’m g-gone. Everyb-body hates me, and I’m so tired of it! I’ll n-never be enough for an-anybody and I’m t-trying so h-hard to do wh-what everyone needs or exp-ects me to be!”
Marinette stuttered out between sobs. Talia glared at that and felt anger at Bruce. She thought that he at least checked in with her every once in a while. She had guessed wrong then. She pulled her daughter into a hug and let her cry against her shoulder.
“Shh, shh. It’s okay. You are perfect the way you are Marinette. You don’t have to prove anything to me. You’re such a good sister, you train so hard, and you have so many amazing skills and talents. You are enough, don’t let anyone say anything different.”
Marinette gripped onto her mom and they both just sat there in silence as Marinette finally just cried. After who knows how long Marinette gently pushed away and looked her mom directly in the eyes with complete seriousness said,
“I want you to help me fake my death. If everyone wants to pretend I’m gone or wants me to disappear, then fine. I will. I don’t want to be seen anymore.”
Talia stared at her daughter in shock for a moment then gave her a small smile.
“It will be done my dear, you will be free.”
“Thank you mom.”

SCP Scenarios: SCP 173 (The Sculpture) x Reader | NEW CHARACTER
SCP Scenarios Masterlist | My Works Masterlist | Main Masterlist | Rules | My Original Post | Request | Socials
(Don't ask about that GIF)
I did change 173 slightly in a way that he can move his limbs and communicate verbally, so Peanut here would be a tiny bit OC
First Encounter
You both met in 173's cell
For some reason, when you blinked, 173 just stood in front of you
Like, this peanut didn't kill you or anything
It was more as if he was interested in you
He somehow found the ability to talk
Even patted your head to your surprise
This also supposed the whole of the facility since they've only observed 173 spanning everyone's neck and teleporting
And they've never seen him move his arms since he's a literal peanut statue that secretes poop (and blood I guess)
Your feelings for him
You began to realise you fell for him after someone had mentioned how often you visited the statue
Definitely would try to hide it, to begin with (Cuz it's odd that y'all be falling for a peanut statue)
But later on, you decide to drop hints about it to your crush, Peanut
He looked as if he was clueless
But he definitely has gotten the hint way before you even realised your feelings for him
Because you make him feel butterflies
If anyone tries to flirt with the statue, you would become furious (Cuz you paid for this statue)
Most likely would tease you at times
His Confession
Probably would plan it out
Which didn't work at all
So 173 would just do it out of the blue
To which you agreed of course (Cuz y'all need some Jesus! At least you weren't like Clef when he- nvm)
Definitely surprised the foundation as well since nobody has ever fallen for this statue before (Aside from Clef)
Some would give you both odd looks while others were more curious about your relationship
Probably would conduct tests between the both of you
Only because they want to see if 173's behaviour would change
Like if someone blinked while standing behind you
Date
Since the foundation doesn't let 173 out of his cell, most of your dates would be in there
173 would be similar to 035 since he's pretty chill and laidback
You both would be laying on the floor and looking up at the ceiling
Probably talking about a lot of BS
Probably would tell you his favourite method of killing (which totally isn't snapping necks)
You both would tell each other about your day and peanut would joke around a lot
Is rather sassy as well so if anyone judges, you can always count on 173 to save you
Most likely by snapping their necks
Or sassing them out to the point of no return
When he gets jealous
It's rare to see 173 jealous since he's quite laid back and doesn't really mind who you're with
If 173 does get jealous he would most likely snap their neck
Or just teleport behind you and just stare at whoever is hitting on you
Or he would bend down to their height (if they're short ofc) which does are them off quite a bit
Would definitely drag you back into his cell to which surprised the researchers
Because they found out that the cameras were working and they heard screaming coming near/from his cell
Peanut can be slightly possessive of you
Especially when he knows somebody is hitting on you on purpose regardless of whether they knew you were taken or not
Most likely would ask you who you are hanging out with and for how long
When there's a containment breach
There's a 50% chance that he caused the breach
Whether he did it or not he would look for you
As he's looking for you he would snap some necks
Even gave 682 a heart attack
More than once actually but we don't talk about that here (cuz that hurts 682's heart)
Could care less about every other SCPs/workers
If you were hurt peanut would hunt down whoever did it to you
Probably would stroll down the facility instead of teleporting
To which you giggled
The look on the researchers' faces when they saw 173 frolic across the hallway and back into his cell was priceless
You were even there to witness it and everyone looked at you like they've just seen a ghost
Yandere!173
Would lock you up in his cell
Probably would tie you up as well
Definitely would torment you by teleporting in front and away from you
Sometimes would blindfold you
Not even the researchers could get you out
They've even asked 131 for some help and it didn't work as effectively as they thought for whatever reason
If you somehow managed to escape your freedom wouldn't last long
173 would manipulate you to the point that you felt that there weren't any way out for you
So in the end, you just stayed in his cell (probably regretting life choices while you're at it)
At least he's nice enough to let you eat proper food served in the foundation (had to make that clear in case y'all didn't get the hint and thought he gave you smth else to eat)
His younger sister
You're both alike and very close indeed
The foundation was shocked at how alike you both were
And you both were inseparable
So every time there's a breach and they see either of you, they know the other is just around the corner
You both would be sassy, sarcastic and funny
The foundation would be entertained by your remarks
Although you may or may not snap necks like peanut, you do display some form of curiosity towards the foundation staff and the SCPs
Like that one time when there was a containment breach and you leaned in rather close to this rookie and he just screamed as he laid on the floor
He did get quite a lecture afterwards but you decided to just tease him whenever you both meet
When his kid says their name for the first time
Would be joyful af
Nobody would hear the end of it
Like imagine the last words you hear is 173 telling you how his kid spoke their name
Like it took them so long to just get the pronunciation right
Tries to get them to swear late on though
Much to your dismay
173 is a cool and laid back type of dad so you wouldn't have to worry too much when you're away
Unless it's about being a good influence then you should (Not that it matters anyway...)
Probably would teleport to whoever/whatever just tp tell them about it
Even bothered 682 to the point that the lizard begged the foundation researchers to remove either of them
When his S/O is angry
Would run/teleport 10000000000000000000 miles away
Especially if you're mad at him
Probably because he broke your favourite cup and didn't tell you about it because he know that your best friend gave it to you as a gift (Don't say y'all don't have friends)
Would try to calm you down after a while though
Which didn't work too well because you still wanted to rip his head off
If it was somebody else who made you mad he would probably be entertained
Unless it affects himself of course
Probably would try to hold you back and get you to calm down
In which you wanted to rip off his head as well which ended so well for peanut
If 173 cant run anywhere he would just hide in the corner and cry
Probably would as the researchers for some help as well
They don't because they don't want to die either
When someone tries to steal you away
When peanut finds out he would hunt down whoever tried to steal you without hesitation
Would snap his neck and everyone else who were involved or knows about it
Takes you back to his cell
Checks if you were hurt even though you were looking at the kidnapper's @ss
Would try to stay by your side at all times even though he knows he can't
Stares at the researchers every time they talk to you
If it was a D-class they would die in an instant
Has a burning hatred for certain kinds of people
When his Pregnant!S/O gets hurt by accident
Cries without a doubt
Would bandage you up without a doubt
Would cheer you up by doing weird dances and impressions
Most likely would tell you off as well but your puppy eyes get to him
So he would just take that back and just baby you
Would kneel down to talk to the unborn child about your bad behaviour
You swore you felt it kick
173 would get all excited and more protective than usual
Wouldn't let anyone near you unless you were going into labourr
Meeting a Fem!Dragon!Hybrid!Reader
Would be quite curious about you
Finds you rather cute because you're so pure, kind and small
Wants to adopt you without a doubt
The researchers would have mixed feelings about you being in the same cell as 173
Peanut was lowkey terrified when you breathed fire
Was somewhat ok with you crying lava and levitating objects for a bit
Somehow managed to get 343 and/or Scarlet King to help you improve your telekinesis
Definitely would play hide and seek with you and some others
They don't get a say otherwise peanut would snap their necks
When he accidentally kills you
It was when some guy unintentionally pushed you which angered 173
Like he teleported to him and his friends
You tried to explain but 173 didn't listen so he proceeds to snap everyone's necks
Trying your best to defend the poor guy, you stepped in front of them which lead to 173 snapping your neck as well
The guy was shocked but managed to run before anything happened
Word got around that 173 had snapped your neck and was now permanently depressed
Like, he stopped snapping everyone's neck for quite sometime
Felt so guilty that he went to 049 to see if he can fix you
But he wasn't able to so he went to SK and God
They were transported to another facility so they weren't able to do much for this statue
Yandere!173 x Evil!Reader
Not as dense as some of the other SCPs but 173 wouldn't have guessed that you worked for another GOI other than the foundation
Since you used your knowledge of 173 to your advantage, 173 would find out rather late
173 found out who you were working with since the late arrival of the Black Queen came by to collect you
173 would try and kidnap you back into his cell at the Foundation but failed miserably
Would try and warn the foundation but they couldn't get you back either
Since you were with the Black Queen, 173 was plotting to get you back without any distraction
The foundation realised how dangerous 173 has become and isolated him far from the other SCPs
At times, the foundation would use your name in order to get 173 to work with them which worked 50% of the times
Trying McDonald's Sprite
Would be confused about this 'Sprite' from McDonald's since he doesn't eat or drink anyways
173 would be rather curious about this beverage and does give it a try
Finds it tasty and you soon realise he has officially become a sweet tooth
Was probably a mistake but if you ever needed to bribe 173, get him some Sprite that's specifically from McDonald's
Like that one time you bought him Sprite from Tesco's, he said it tasted more disgusting and refused to finish the drink
You should probably give him some apple pies, pancakes and some other sweet stuff from McDonald's
Sometimes the foundation would even give him some Sprite whenever the cleaners are cleaning his cell
Would find it amusing that the only way to get him to stop snapping necks are Sprite
When his kids swear
Would 100% be ok with it
173 probably is the one who taught his child to swear
Probably would let them drink alcohol at a young age as well
Maybe around their teenage years, but would let them try a sip if they're under 10
Wouldn't even be mad if his kid swears accidentally
Peanut would most likely encourage it
Doesn't mind if his kid swears at others, but the others would probably complain
When Child!Reader scares him
Wouldn't be hard to scare 173 tbh because you're so small
You'd be running around and giggling while doing whatever
Until there's some silence
173 would probably brush it off at first until he didn't hear a sound for 20 minutes
Does check around his cell to make sure you're still there
Panics because he can't see you
Until he turns around and had a full-on heart attack because you jumped on him
The researchers definitely hear a screech coming from his cell
They all started laughing once they found out
When the reader pole dances/aerial silk dances
Very similar to 035
Would be in awe of you dancing for him
If you were pole dancing he would probably watch you with those eyes~
Most likely end up in you both performing in another activity
If you were aerial silk dancing, 173 would probably be amazed
Would try and dance with you but fails terribly
Because he keeps dropping like dead flies
Most likely broke his back
Sometimes the researchers wonder how it's even possible for 173 to break his "bones"
Having a Pregnant!S/O
Would crack a lot of dad jokes here and there
Follows wherever you go
Rubs your belly whenever he can
Definitely would make a full conversation with the unborn child
Sometimes would read stories that do make you feel sleepy
Does whatever you tell him to do
Cracks some necks if he can't give you what you need
Would cry whenever you have your mood swings
During labour, you grabbed his arm so hard that it almost broke him
When you try to commit suicide
Would teleport to your side at an instant
Wouldn't let you out of his sight ever again
173 would try to cheer you up which may or may not work
Definitely would kill whoever made you feel this way if any
Make you stay in his cell for a while
Maybe even permanently
Wouldnt let anyone touch you
If you had any scars 173 would cry
Peanut would try his best to stop you from feeling that way
Having a Hopelessly Romantic/Easily flustered GN!Reader
Would definitely tease you
173 would find it adorable that you fluster easily and is hopelessly romantic
I'd say he's pretty hopelessly romantic to a certain degree
Will kill if anyone teases you
Because your adorable flushed look is only reserved for him
Although he would tell all the other SCPs about you
049 and 035 get it the hardest but 035 is completely fine with it
049 would rather just stay in his cell than to hear 173 talk about you for 200 hours
Probably knows more about you than peanut himself
173 would boop your snoot whenever you have that cute look
When you're about to be executed - Yandere!173 x D-Class!Reader
173 would snap everyone's neck and kidnap you back to his cell
If anyone ever mentions your name, 173 would instantly snap their necks
And if they ever tried to find you, he would know and would hide you somewhere else
If you ever tried to flee, 173 would teleport to your side and bribe you to stay 'home'
By bribe, I mean he would force you to return by teleporting the both of you
If anyone sees the both of you, 173 would stalk them to no end
Would torture them if they were to tell the foundation about this
Not even the other SCPs could help
When you curl up in their lap
Would find you the cutest thing on Earth
Aside from 999 of course
If he's exhausted from doing nothing, he would probably just rub your head/back
Definitely would tickle you whenever he can
Finds it comforting when you do curl up in his lap
Thinks that you're so cute to the point that he would kill for you
When you kiss his neck
10000000000000% loves it
Would definitely be vocal because he has no shame
Most likely would ask you to do it again
Even if you were in the middle of talking to someone and they hear him
If you were in the mood, you could tease him with neck kisses for hours on end
Probably would ask you to move on to the next activity but you know he loves being teased
Then after that go back to cuddling
173 would scream but the last time that happened the whole foundation went deaf and you gave him the cold shoulder for a while
Definitely cried about that so he tries to restrain himself
But you feel bad so you just carried on

omg omg ok ok so maybe for a request charlie and the reader and how they interact as streamers?? like a friends to lovers au but you can tell how they fall in love through all their interactions online & in games (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
like for example whenever they play on the smp charlie only reaaallly wants to help the reader and when anyone else asks he’s like hm? what? IT JUST SEEMED CUTE IN MY HEAD ☹️💌
Lore
Charlie slimecicle x reader [they/them used]
“Hello twitchers.” y/n smiled into the face cam, watching the chat fly by a mile a minute. They knew they’d draw in a larger audience today, it being their first official stream on the Dream SMP. They loaded up the game, spawning in a wooded area surrounded by cobblestone. “Alright where do we- hello?”
y/n leaned closer to the screen. They could see someone standing behind a tree. Someone in glasses and green blotchy skin. They typed into the in-game chat, trying to get who ever it was to come closer. Thankfully they did, revealing a character named Slimecicle. y/n looked over to the discord server, pulling themselves into a voice channel with the mystery person.
“Hi there!” Slimecicle’s voice rang through y/n’s headphones and they smiled. They liked the sound of his voice. “Im Charlie. Welcome.”
“Thanks. Do you know how to get anywhere?”
“Yeah!” Charlie’s character jumped as y/n followed after him. Charlie led them to a snowy mountainside that had been covered with sand. Someone had built a white mansion and several other buildings, including a fountain and a tall tower. “This is where I live.”
“This mansion?” y/n panned to look around the mountainside. They glanced over to watch their chat fly by.
“No I just live in the country in general. Las Nevadas!” Charlie jumped up and down, punching y/n in a friendly manner. “Oh are you hungry? I have food!”
Charlie’s character threw a stack of lamb chops at y/n. They smiled at him, then quickly realized he couldn’t see them. “Thanks! Where is this by the way.”
“Only the best country ever. It’s Las Nevadas! Do you want to live here?”
“Sure!” y/n followed as Charlie ran around. He showed them all around the country; the casino, the strip club, the restaurant, and even the garden. “Charlie this is so cool!”
“I know!” Charlie jumped up and down in a circle. “I’m not the guy who owns it but I’m sure he’d like to meet you.”
“Oh.” y/n paused, biting their cheek. “Will he be okay with me being here?”
“Of course he will. It’s Quackity! Let’s find you somewhere to live.” y/n followed Charlie to the tall white tower. He led them behind it to a flat plot of sand. “Here! We’ll be neighbors.”
“Awesome. I don’t have anything to build with yet but-“
“Oh here!” Charlie ran into the base of the tower, coming back 30 seconds later. He threw two stacks of oak logs to y/n. “Is this what you needed?”
“I- yeah. That’s a lot of wood.”
“I want you to have it!”
y/n smiled bashfully, trying to swallow the heat rising to their cheeks. They could see their twitch chat running by with messages asking if it was lore or cannon. “Here. Take this then.”
Charlie marveled at the flower y/n had tossed him, a blue cornflower. He smiled, holding a hand over his mouth to hide from the prying eyes of his own twitch chat. “Thank you.”
y/n began running around the plot, randomly placing oak planks to make a frame for their house. They tossed Charlie some planks, allowing him to help build up the home. They continued beholding for another half an hour, allowing y/n to have a gorgeous one story home with room for storage and supplies.
“Thanks for all your help today.”
“Of course! Do I get to see you again?”
y/n smiled, glancing over at discord to make sure they’d requested to be friends with Charlie. “Of course! I’ll see you around the server?”
y/n and Charlie saw each other quite often around the server. y/n logged on, Charlie was there. They’d spend hours in the game mining together, building structures, hunting. It went on months of them interacting in streams and lore exclusively.
“You can’t do this Quackity.” y/n spoke slowly. They’d been practicing the recording for this lore for weeks now, and thank god it wasn’t live. “I trust you, and I’m glad we’re friends, but this? Burning it all? What will that do for you. What will any of this do for you?”
“I know you haven’t been here as long, but this is my fucking country. It’s my fucking war. Who the hell are you to think you have any understanding of this? And ideas?”
“Because this isn’t how it works. This isn’t going to work. How many times have you tried this and it just hasn’t happened or you? I don’t know, maybe think about Schlatt? Or Technoblade?”
Quackity froze, being eerily silent. y/n glanced over at the script, making sure nothing was missed. “How do you know about that? Who told you about that?” Quackity’s character ran forward with a diamond sword in hand. “That is none of your business.”
“It’s none of your business how I know.” y/n backed away from Quackity as he walked closer. “I may not have been here long but I have friends.”
“What friends you have-“ he paused, realization setting in. “You have Slime. My friend.”
Quackity came at y/n swinging, they tried to fight back, blocking with a shield and iron sword. “Quackity enough! This isn’t what you want! Quackity please-“
y/n stopped, holding a breath and muting their mic. Quackity had landed the final blow, taking their first cannon life. They moved slightly away from their set up, making sure to not touch any keys. They knew Quackity was still recording, and Charlie’s part was coming soon.
Quackity panted. Taking a shaky breath. “Fuck. Okay. God I can’t believe-“ y/n waited expectantly. Quackity’s pause meant that he saw Charlie. “Oh. Hey bud.”
“Quackity from Las Nevadas.” Charlie almost sounded like he was crying. “What did you do?”
“Slime, you don’t understand, they knew more than they should-“
“So you killed them?” Quackity was quiet. y/n silently cheered to themselves, proud of both Charlie and Quackity’s acting. “You- you took my friend. You took my friend away and- are they coming back? Is y/n coming back?”
“Slime, I took one life. It doesn’t matter. They don’t matter. They didn’t care about Las Nevadas, not like we do.” y/n could hear Quackity’s character moving from his audio in the discord call. “It’s you and me Slime, my best friend.”
“No.”
“No?” y/n looked over the shared script, searching for what part was happening. They hadn’t read this far ahead. “What do you mean no?”
“I cared about y/n. They were my friend. This is not how you treat a friend.”
“And how would you know?”
“Because I know Quackity. I know.”
Charlie and Quackity came to a halt, waiting a moment before speaking again. “That was great!” y/n exited the Minecraft world, turning their full attention to the discord call. Quackity had his camera on, smiling, but Charlie still kept his camera off. “Was there anything else to record today?”
“No that’s it.” There was some clicking from Quackity’s end. “Thanks again. I’ll talk to you later?”
“Yeah, later.”
Quackity exited the discord call, leaving Charlie and y/n in silence. Charlie cleared his throat, turning on his camera. His room was lit by just the lights behind his set up, casting his shadow over the shelves of stuffed toys and collectibles behind him. “Hey.”
“Hey!” y/n felt their face grow warm slightly. “I didn’t realize there was that much more to the script.”
“Yeah.”
y/n chewed the inside of their cheek. It almost sounded like Charlie was disappointed. “Are you okay? You sound upset.”
“I just-“ Charlie paused, resting his chin on his propped-up hands. “What do we do now? I don’t want to stop playing minecraft with you.”
“Charlie we don’t have to stop. Just because the lore goes one way doesn’t mean that we can’t interact.”
“But continuity-“
“You’re thinking like DnD.” y/n smiled gently at him. “If you still want to play together we can, it’ll just be like a secret. Or we can do our own lore. I’m sure if we talk to everyone about it me and you can write something.” Charlie didn’t say anything, and they frowned. “Is there something else?”
“I kind wish they didn’t kill you so early. I’ve still got my lives.”
“Maybe Quackity will kill you next.”
“That’s not-“ Charlie huffed, running a hand through his hair. “I like the character dynamic. I like us interacting. I like us.”
y/n paused, their face burning. They’d be lying if they said they hadn’t thought about the dynamic between themself and Charlie. The clips of them talking on late night streams. The fan-art all over Twitter. The edits recommended to them on Instagram. Hell, they thought about it even without seeing any prompted content. Charlie was on their mind most of the day. They’d constantly find themselves checking twitch to see if he was live or discord to see if he was active. Charlie had become a constant in y/n’s life and they indulged themself in it. “I like the dynamic too.”
“Well we don’t have that dynamic if you stop being part of Las Nevadas. There isn’t us.”
“Charlie, what are you talking about?”
“I’ve been— fucking— I’ve been using this stupid server to get closer to you. I thought that maybe you liked us the way that I liked us and I- I don’t know what I’m doing now.” Charlie rubbed his hands over his eyes. “I just didn’t want you to go.”
“Charlie I’m not going anywhere. I like us too.”
“You do?” Charlie perked up a bit, seeming more enthusiastic.
“Just cause we write lore doesn’t mean it affects us. Here, watch this.” y/n went onto the shared script, hoping Charlie still had it open, and began to type. They wrote about how y/n would possibly live alone in the woods on the outskirts of Las Nevadas, staying close to Charlie.
They could see Charlie smile on the other end of the call, then emit the sound of keys tapping. y/n watched as the words appeared on the page: Charlie tells y/n how he feels.
y/n gasped and turned back to the discord call. “I wanted to tell you soon. I guess I didn’t realize how upset the recording would make me.”
“Charlie, how long have you had a crush on me?”
“Uh, remember your first day?” y/n nodded eagerly. “Yeah. Probably about there.”
y/n turned back to the shared document, typing furiously. “It’s a good thing I like you too.”
Charlie smiled widely at the words; y/n returns his affection. He smiled at the discord call, resting his face in his hands. “Well then, what’s next for our lore darling?”
y/n chuckled, going back to open minecraft. “Help me make a new house.”
“Only if my bed can be next to yours.”
“Deal.”
They could hear Charlie tapping on his keyboard as he loaded in the game. “I know we haven’t met in person, but I’m serious. I like you.”
“And I’m serious. I like you too.” y/n looked at Charlie’s character on their screen. “It does kind of suck we’ve never met but that doesn’t mean-“
“I bought a ticket.”
“W-what? What kind of ticket?”
“A plane ticket. For next week. I mean if that’s okay. I can still cancel it.”
“No! I mean yes. I’d be delighted to have you come over Charlie.” y/n felt their smile soften.
“Can I still have a bed then?”
“Yes!” y/n laughed, going back to the game. They placed two beds side-by-side in the open air. “How’s this?”
“Better.” Charlie’s character went to stand on one of the beds. “Maybe we can write something different- oh.”
y/n looked at the document. Quackity had left them a comment on their new writing, telling them to flirt elsewhere. “Well, I guess he had a point.”
“Back to the game then darling?”
y/n smiled bashfully at the nickname. “Back to the game.”

Harry's fingers drummed on the table he was sitting at. His eyes knitted as he watched your figure across the room like you were some type of prey.
You were grinding up against a guy as the alcohol you consumed ran through your veins. You were carefree, living you life and enjoying yourself like lots of people were doing in the club that night except harry.
God he hated how that guy was touching your waist, and how you smiled as you looked at him, and how your lips were almost touching his. He hated it, harry really fucking hated it.
He wanted nothing more than tear that guy away from you, but he couldn't.
Harry adjusted himself in his seat, tearing his eyes away from you and the mystery man. His hands went down to his lap and he cleared his throat. He used every inch in his body to not look back over at you.
5 minutes later the song died down and you came back giggling. "Hi harry." Harry looked up at you, pressing his lips into a thin line.
You of course didn't notice and kept talking. "It's fun night. I just met this cute guy and he blew me away. He's going to take me on a date later this week because he likes me. It's going to be so fun." You squealed.
Harry growled under his breath before getting up. "Let's go." He took your hand. You looked up at him confused as to what the problem was. "Harry, what is it?"
Harry pulled you out of the club and to the car he drove you in. "It's late and you're really drunk. It's time to go."
You got in the car, harry did as well, and he drove you away to your apartment.
The whole ride harry grip on the steering wheel was tight. His mind was clouded with thoughts he just couldn't shake.
You on the other hand was confused. You peered over at Harry every now and then seeing his jaw tighten and his knuckles white from his grip. You didn't know what was wrong with him but you didn't bother trying to figure out either.
-
About 10 minutes later harry pulled into the driveway. He parked the car and got out. He helped you out of the car Because of your drunk state before letting you into the house.
Harry walked right passed you to his room with out a word. You felt yourself tear up at the action. You don't know if it was because you were drunk or you were genuinely upset, but you hated it.
That night you went to sleep crying and confused. Harry heard your cries loud and clear seeing that he was in the room next to you. He felt guilty for treating you like that but he was pissed.
--
The next morning harry woke up at the crack of dawn. He ripped the blanket off and dragged himself out of bed.
He went straight to the kitchen to get you some water Because he knew you were going to have a killer headache when you awoke. He still cared about you of course.
He walked back up the creaking stairs, grabbed an aspirin from the bathroom before walking to your room.
You were sprawled out on the bed, mouth open as you snored. Harry chuckled to himself at the image. He sat the water and pill down on your nightstand before shaking you awake.
"y/n, time to wake up."
You opened your eyes, groaning as your head started to throb. You easily regretted getting wasted last night.
You looked up at harry; he had a faint smile on his face that didn't quite meet the eyes. Images of last night flooded in your brain of harry being unknowingly mad at you. It made your heart drop in your chest.
You sat up and reached out for the water and aspirin. With harry's help you gulped it down before you looked up at him.
"uhh what was your problem yesterday?"
Harry sighed, "nothin' I was just ready to go." Harry lied. You knew it was a lie but didn't pry.
Your phone on the bedside table ring causing you to reach over for it. You opened your messages and began to read.
Harry watched as a smile creeped up on your face. "What is it?"
"the guy from yesterday message me. He wants to take me on a date tonight." You giddy said.
Harry swallowed, jaw tightening. "Well.. that sounds fun."
"I-"
Before you could get a word out, harry walked out of the room. You sat there dumbfounded. You didn't understand what his problem was and right now you seriously had a problem with him. He was being an huge ass.
--
Your makeup was done, you were dressed in a silk dress and a few expensive pieces of jewelry for your date. You exhaled as you stood in front of the mirror in the foyer. You were waiting for your date to come.
Harry walked down the stairs and saw you in that beautiful dress. God you were beautiful but it wasn't for him.
He walked straight to the kitchen without saying a word to you even though you looked right at him.
You walked into the kitchen ignoring his pissed state. "so, I'm probably going to be out till 11 so I'll see you later." You said to him.
He turned away from you grabbing a mug from the cabinet. "Have fun I guess."
You grew angry at him, "what is your problem? You've been acting like a huge jackass!"
Harry scuffed, "I'm a jackass. At least I'm not the one who's going out with a fuck boy." He placed the kettle on and placed the mug on the counter. His eyes didn't met yours at all. You decided it was time to give him a taste of his own medicine and ignore him like he's been ignoring you.
You walked out of the kitchen as you heard a knock on the door. You grabbed your bag and coat before walking to the door. Before you left you yelled out to harry.
"have a good Rest of your fucking day Harry." You walked out of the house, slamming the door slightly.
"you too y/n." Harry spat out to himself.
---
Days and days went on since you and harry talked on the night on your date.
Everytime you both were in the same room you ignored each other. It was like you were both strangers in your own home.
It wasn't like you both wanted to do this but harry was being a prick and you wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.
-
It was the day of another date with the guy you met at the bar. You were really excited. You sat in the restaurant waiting for him to come.
5 minutes turned to 10 minutes, 10 turned to 20, and 20 turned to 30 and he hasn't shown up. You started to worry, aggressively texting him but there was no response.
You were getting embarrassed at all the waiting you were doing right now. After a while you just decided to leave. After telling the waiters you were leaving, you walked out of the restaurant. As soon as you reached your car your phone went off.
You opened it seeing a message.
Bar guy | I'm not coming, I found another girl. Sry
You felt your heart drop as you got in your car. You held in your tears as you drove to your apartment. The only thing you wanted more than anything was to be with Harry. Even though you hated his guts, he was always the one there when you had a breakup.
You pulled into the driveway, parking the car. Harry who was inside wasn't expecting you back so early. He frowned as he sat his guitar down.
The door open revealing you. You were crying and went straight to harry.
"hey, love what happened?" Harry asked as placed a kiss on your forehead, wrapping his arms around you.
"he dumped me." You cried out. Harry awed as he once again kissed your head. "It's okay, he didn't deserve you."
You pulled away sniffling. "I'm sorry. I called you a jackass and you were right. He was a fuck boy and I didn't see it and I'm so so-"
"hey, no no it's okay, it's okay." Harry stopped you. "You didn't do anything wrong. He's the one I'm mad at not you ok."
"yeah... Ok." You whipped your eyes and sat down on the couch. Harry did the same. He picked up his guitar. "So I know I'm a shit friend sometimes but what do you think about us having a little bit of fun. Just me and you. I'll sing you a song."
You chuckled, "okay."
Harry smiled, "alright, let's do this."
---
You and Harry spent the whole night enjoying each other's company. After a few days of not talking it was worth it.
Later that night you and harry are laying on the floor after you both had a long dance party– yes you both were cheesy like that.
Your chest was rising and falling as you looked up at the ceiling. "that was fun."
Harry looked up at you, "of course it was, you're with me bitch, it's obviously going to be fun." Harry said
You laughed. You turned to harry and smiled. "Thanks for today." Harry smiled at you, "you're welcome."
He leaned over and placed a kiss on your nose, something that was normal and he has been doing for years. But this felt different to you.
His lips lingered making your skin tingle. When Harry pulled away he was inches away from your face. You couldn't help but close the gap between the both of you.
Your lips moved with his slowly with meaning. You moaned softly into his lips as harry pushed your back on the ground and hovered over you.
Eventually he pulled away and looked down at you. "Wow." Was all you could get out as he stared down at you. Harry chuckled, "yeah, wow." He placed another soft kiss on your lips before getting up leaving you shocked on the ground.

tw for depression ; something i have so please know i understand if you’re going through it. my messages are always open if you need a friend. be good to yourself and if this may trigger you pls don’t read it. all the love, olivia <3
pls enjoy this angst, and also please ignore the science behind love potions in this fic.
after cedric had been killed, life for you wasn’t the same. the two of you were the best of friends. you did absolutely everything together. cedric helped you be the very best you.
after him, life seemed grey, dull, and monotonous. you didn’t have anyone to talk to.
your friends pulled back from you and said they made a mistake thinking they could take you on, and you understood. some days you could be so happy and carefree and the very next minute you drifted into the dark abyss that was your mind. you were a little much, for everyone.
over the summer you began reading to take your mind off of cedric. well, not him, just what happened. you forced yourself to read every book in your home. from books about the stars, to poetry, to books on theories, and finally your textbooks.
it was one of the hottest days of summer when you came across the chapter on love potions. it gave you an idea. the chapter clearly stated that the drinker of the love potion would become infatuated with the person who gave it to them. who’s to say you couldn’t become infatuated with yourself.
of course you didn’t want to become a narcissus, so you brewed a very weak version.
it worked. for a whole day you were happy. you ate, laughed, and were so good to yourself. you were in love with the girl you were. you found yourself slow dancing alone, stroking your own cheek, being there for yourself.
of course, it didn’t last and by night time you were back to feeling all too much. the type of feeling where you’re silent and unmoving, the world a blur but your thoughts in a deathly focus.
it was that night you decided that you’d take a weak love potion everyday until your bad feelings went away on their own. you were tired of being the girl people pushed away because they didn’t understand.
so you did exactly that. your entire fifth year consisted of flying under umbridge’s radar. thanks to harry potter and the order, that proved easier than expected. no one suspected you.
now, you’re in sixth year. everyone is convinced you’re happy again and they don’t treat you like some sort of liability. of course, they don’t know that every night you cry and feel exactly like you did in fourth year. but that’s ok, you can handle the nights as long as the days are good. you find it to be a cycle now. in the mornings you take the potion and it’s almost like the best part of yourself fights the whole day to take care of you, but by night, she looses to the worst part of yourself.
“y/n would you like to go to hogsmeade today?” your friend, cece asks.
“i would love to, but i have to study for transfiguration.” you sigh, giving your friend a sorry look.
“ah it’s ok, you’re taking advanced this year. you’re right to study. mara and i will make sure to bring you back some things from honeydukes.”
you smile and thank your friend before making your way to the astronomy tower. cedric was the one to introduce you to studying here, and you never stopped.
you take a seat on the steps and begin studying multicorfors.
just as you were getting up to practice the spell, a body runs into you, causing the both of you to tumble to the floor.
you look to your side and spot draco malfoy, who, besides being herbology partners one year, you didn’t really talk to.
“are you okay, draco?” you ask, helping the boy off the floor.
he smoothes out his suit jacket, “yes, l/n.”
you scoff a bit and raise your eyebrows at him, “are you sure because it’s unlike you to stumble about. you’re just too good for that.”
draco glowers at you.
“okay i’m sorry. i didn’t want to be here anyway,” you gesture around the room, “the astronomy tower is now yours.”
he doesn’t say anything as you exit the room and you shrug it off.
‘as if draco malfoy could be pleasant’, you think to yourself, annoyed.
once you approach the hufflepuff common room you feel the effects of your potion begin to wear off. you curse yourself a little for not drinking enough potion to last you until dinner and decide to run by the kitchens to grab something before bed. there’s no way you can sit through dinner like this.
by the time you make it to your dorm room you feel heavy with thoughts. you curl into your bed crying and stare at the stone wall until you fall into a dreamless sleep. like most nights.
the next morning is a saturday and you wake up early, before your dorm mates, and grab the bottle of love potion under your bed, hidden in a locked trunk. you down the small bottle and watch it refill thanks to the spell you placed on it, and put it back, hidden away.
you decide to head to breakfast early and grab a muffin to take with you to the astronomy tower. you need to master multicorfors before your test on tuesday.
a half hour into your practice, you’re doing the spell almost perfectly. though, changing your skirt into pants proves to be your downfall. you just can’t get it.
“i need the astronomy tower.” a voice says from behind you.
you turn to see draco malfoy, again wearing a fitted suit.
“you can study while i’m here draco.” you say pointedly.
“i don’t want to.” he scowls.
you roll your eyes, “then study elsewhere.”
“no. you can leave.”
“listen draco, i can argue with you all day, but i’m not moving until i’ve mastered multicorfors. so either you stay here with me or you go somewhere else.” you groan.
he doesn’t reply but takes a seat on the steps, taking out his wand and transfiguration book.
you smile to yourself, happy to win the argument, and go back to trying to change your skirt into a pair of pants.
“you’re too rigid with your movements, l/n.” draco tells you.
“can you show me then? i can’t figure it out.” you ask.
“no. just flick your wand more. it’s not that hard.” he says.
you give him a deadpan look, “please. this is the last part of the lesson i need to get. if you show me i can leave sooner.”
draco groans but gets up and walks over to you.
“give me your hand.” he instructs.
you do as you’re told and he grabs your hand, showing you the correct way to move your wand. his hand is warmer compared to yours and you like the way he warms you up. it’s also extremely soft, almost as if he’s never had a single callous.
“you have soft hands.” you tell him, grinning.
surprisingly draco lets out a small smile, “you’re supposed to be paying attention.”
“i can’t. you have baby soft hands.” you joke looking up at him.
“i just use lotion. you should try it sometime, your hands feel like a house elves’.” he teases.
you let out a deep laugh, “who knew draco malfoy was such a comedian?”
he feigns shock, “i made those hilarious ‘potter sticks’ badges back in fourth year for nothing then?”
you suck in a unnoticed breathe at the mention of fourth year before smiling,“okay i suppose that should have been a hint. but it was mean.”
draco and you continue to talk and practice transfiguration up until dinner. the time flying while the two of you are together.
“would you like to eat dinner up here? i can grab us some things from the kitchen.” you ask him, packing your bag up.
“i actually have something to do, but maybe some other time. let’s meet here again tomorrow though, i can help you with transfiguration.” he says.
“draco malfoy fraternizing with a muggle-born hufflepuff. tsk tsk.” you joke before agreeing and heading to dinner.
you don’t miss the eyeroll he gives you for that remark.
“where were you all day, y/n?” mara questions as you sit down beside her.
“astronomy tower. i was practicing transfiguration. you’ll never guess who ended up helping me either.” you beam, grabbing a plate for yourself.
“who helped you? i’m guessing cormac mclaggen, he seems to have a crush on you.” cece says.
your face contorts in disgust, “no, definitely not. that guy is a creep. it was malfoy actually, and he’s surprisingly funny.”
mara and cece give each other a look before mara speaks, “you do know people are saying he’s a deatheater, right?”
you roll your eyes, “malfoy is not a deatheater. i think a deatheater would oppose to helping a mudblood.”
your friends shrug and dinner continues on with normal conversation.
“cece and i are going to study in the library before bed if you want to join us.” mara says, grabbing her books.
“i’m okay, plus i’m super tired. i’ll see you at the dorm.” you smile, before parting with your friends.
slipping into your bed you begin to feel the come down of your potion. tonight your pain hurts even more than usual. you feel so trapped and can’t seem to catch your breath. you keep thinking back to the last time you had spoken to your best friend.
it was a week before the maze and he was sitting with you by black lake.
“y/n i promise you once i win, i’m taking you and cho to the fanciest restaurant i can find and we’ll all celebrate.” he had grinned, leaning against a tree.
you giggled and shoved him playfully before saying, “if you don’t win i’m still expecting that dinner.”
“i’ll win. i’ve been practicing so much.”
“i know, you barely ever have time to see me now.” you had sighed.
“y/n i’m sorry. i promise that after all of this is over, you and i are going to see each other everyday. i can’t live without you, kid. you’re my best friend.” he soothed, giving you a hug.
you had leaned into him, “forever?”
he laughed, “of course.”
that memory was etched in your brain. you knew it would never leave your mind.
you laid silently crying in your bed as your dorm mates entered to room, ready for bed. they said goodnight to each other before getting into their own beds, assuming you to be drifted off by now, and after a few minutes, their snores are the only sound in the room.
the emptiness of your being feels too much and you’re desperate to escape. you need air. you need something to remind you that you’re alive.
you quietly sneak out of your room, out of the common room, and up the stairs to the astronomy tower.
as you quickly enter the doorway of the tower, a body collides into yours, knocking you back a bit.
when you look up, tears falling out of your eyes, you’re greeted by teary grey ones. draco’s.
he sniffles and steadies himself before asking, “what’s wrong, l/n?”
you can’t seem to find the words. no one has asked you this question in years, and so much is wrong.
all you can do is cry harder.
“you have to breathe l/n. you’re going to upset yourself more, just breathe.” he says, voice breaking.
you try to calm down but nothing is helping. nothing feels real. cedric should still be here. you shouldn’t be this broken. life should be how it was. now it’s just too much.
“i hate it, draco.” you finally cry out.
he wipes the tears from his own eyes, “what do you hate, l/n. talk to me.”
“i hate that i haven’t been the same since fourth year. i hate that my best friend is gone. i hate that i have to worry that everyone around me is going to die, just because of some evil dark wizard. and i hate that i take fucking love potions everyday just to feel okay. i hate it all.” you breathe, finally.
draco raises his eyebrows, “you’ve been taking love potions?”
you nod, weary of your confession.
“i’m sorry y/n.” he mumbles.
your eyes meet his at the mention of your first name. coming from him it seems so genuine. he’s never called you by your first name before.
“you won’t tell anyone will you?” you ask, eyes searching his.
“no, i won’t,” he pauses. “but you should get back to your dorm, i’ll walk you back. a walk might help you calm down.”
you nod and let the boy lead you through the dark castle, lit only by the moon. draco’s steps are lighter than yours, and it causes you to wonder how he learned how to be so quiet. it’s unlike him.
when the two of you reach the hufflepuff entrance you whisper to him, “thank you for calming me down, draco. it means a lot that you would help me.”
in the shadows you see him smile, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. you bid the boy goodnight, and walk back to your dorm. of course you’re still sad but the sadness is somewhat diluted, thanks to none other than draco malfoy.
you continue to meet with draco daily throughout the months of your sixth year. the two of you finding comfort in each other.
by now, you’re becoming far less dependent on love potions. having someone to confide in proving immensely helpful.
but although you’re getting better, draco only grows worse. you never ask him what’s troubling him. maybe because you’re scared he won’t tell you or maybe because you’re scared to loose the person helping you the most. either way, you still try to help him as much as possible.
today, may the eighth, draco and you have plans to go to hogsmeade to look for a new notebook for you, since your old one is completely used up. you really loved mcgonagall, but the woman sure stressed you out with all the notes she commanded your class to take.
you’ve been waiting patiently for twenty minutes, but he doesn’t seem to be anywhere in sight.
maybe he’s still at breakfast? you think to yourself, before heading into the castle to search for your friend.
you peer around the dining hall, coming up short. so you decide to go to the astronomy tower. if you needed draco you could usually find him there.
when you enter the sixth floor, ready to head further up, you hear shouting. curious, you walk toward the noise, which is coming from the boys’ bathroom.
you hesitate going in but once you hear a defensive spell being cast, you draw your wand and bound into the bathroom.
in front of you stands harry potter. he’s crouched behind a wall, clutching his wand and panting. you furrow your brows, and go to question what he’s doing before you see draco emerge and cast the cruciatus curse at him.
before you can tell them both to stop, harry yells out a curse you’ve never heard of before.
“sectumsempra!”
almost instantly, draco falls to the floor, blood pouring out of him.
you’re shocked, and don’t even feel yourself run to him. you don’t hear harry’s apologies. you don’t hear when professor snape rushes in. you don’t hear a thing other than draco’s pained cries.
it reminds you all too much of the chaos of cedric’s death. everything happening too fast.
when snape finally stops the bleeding he instructs you to get back to your common room and keep quiet. you don’t try to fight him on it, and do as you’re told.
after a few hours of worried overthinking, you leave the hufflepuff common room and head to the hospital wing. when you enter the large room, you notice draco immediately. he’s the only one.
“draco?” you call his name, standing beside his bed.
the boy opens his eyes and stares right at you, causing you to cry.
“i was so scared draco.” you cry, placing your hand on your friends chest, feeling his heartbeat. it’s comforting.
“i have to tell you something, y/n, before it’s too late. you just have to promise you won’t tell a soul.” he tells you, voice weak.
“draco you’ve kept my secret over these months. i would never hurt you by telling anyone.” you say.
your friend gives you a weak smile before sitting up in the bed and pulling up his left sleeve, exposing a black ink that contrasts so much from his pale white skin.
“they’re coming here in june. i don’t know the day yet but when i find out i’ll tell you. you have to stay safe, y/n. i’m sorry i didn’t tell you sooner.” draco advises.
“you’re a deatheater.” you breathe out, eyes locked to the dark mark on his arm.
you can’t believe the scene in front of you. your draco, a villain that you’ve been so deathly afraid of for years.
“i’m so sorry y/n. it wasn’t my choice. but please promise me that you’ll stay safe. i need you here with me, not gone by the hands of a dark wizard.” the boy pleads, grasping your hand.
you look him in the eyes, “i promise draco.”
he doesn’t let go of your hand and brings it back to his heart.
“i care so deeply for you, y/n. you’re so good. thank you for everything.” he says, faltering.
your eyes are teary when you say, “i love you draco.”
with that you slip your hand out of his and walk back to your dorm. your thoughts seem to be invasive that night. you contemplate grabbing the bottle of love potion you haven’t taken in a month, but decide against it.
you feel cheated. everything had been so perfect. all the excitement you had from running through the nights with the boy you love begin to eat you alive.
it’s not fair for it to turn out like this. the two of you so dependent on each other, but on two separate sides of a war. there’s no way this can end well.
you realize you love draco, as more than a friend. that scares you and so you’re back to thinking that you’re better off on your own.
draco still sits with you in the astronomy tower daily, but the two of you don’t speak much. you, scared of falling deeper in love. and him, too focused on his task.
of course you find yourself loving the boy more and more everyday. the two of you are always embraced when together, and even though it’s unspoken, you know draco loves you too.
it’s the thirtieth day of june, you’re in the astronomy tower alone when draco comes rushing in.
“y/n you have to go, they’re here.” he warns, checking the stairs behind him.
you freeze at his statement. you knew the day would come but you still weren’t prepared.
“y/n! are you listening to me? you have to go.” he shouts.
this is it. this is the final time you’ll see draco before the war officially starts, after this there’s no more innocent days spent together. here you are again, loosing your best friend.
you get up from the floor and walk to draco. you cup his face gently, “take care of yourself. i love you.”
he eases a little and places his hand on yours, “i love you more. i hope you know that.”
and you do. of course you do.

The New Beginning pt.2
TW: mentions of self harm
You wake up in your room, like everyday, but something’s different, you feel hands wrapped around your waste and feel a warm breath on the back of your neck. It’s Eddie, you remember what had occurred last night and start sobbing at the thought of your ex coming back again. Eddie, who was already awake and was just watching you sleep, kissed you on the back of your neck and whispered “you’re safe with me, baby”, you smile before being taken by the thoughts of what your ex might do to you again.
Eddie notices that and says “Don’t worry, that bastard is never going to harm you again”, you nod and get off the bed, “where are you going, sweetheart?” says Eddie, worried that you’ll do something to yourself again, he blinks and then he’s back at that horrible scenario, you, crying and saying “what have i done” over and over again, Eddie, driving as fast as possible to get to you, and to think that was just two months ago..
“I’m going to go get some tea, you want anything?” you say, “a coffee would be nice” says Eddie, not wanting to make you do too much because of the traumatic experience you had yesterday, “ok!” you say. A few minutes pass and Eddie is still on the bed, waiting for you, you enter the room and give Eddie his coffee and sit on the bed next to him with your cup of tea. You knew this was going to be one of your morning rituals, you could just feel it.

okidoki!
Jack and you never really got along, specially after what happened at the Christmas party, you were both drunk and started making out (even though he was married) but at least both of you regretted it (or did you?).
Unfortunately you were both selected to take care of the hotel in the winter season. It’s not like you two hated each other but you both regretted that night and didn’t want to see each other after that.
First day: Since the budget was low you both had to share a room (a room for couples, with one bed) you were in your room and then Jack came in but you didn’t notice until he spoke “well, well, well, I guess the best duo is back at it again” “just shut up, Jack” you said. Jack walked out of the room and didn’t bother you for the rest of the day.
Second day: You woke up in the middle of the night, you had a weird dream, more like a nightmare to you, it was a sex dream with you and Jack. You went to the bathroom and then you felt strong hands around your waste, and a warm kiss on your neck. “Jack..?”, he didn’t respond, “J-Jack..?” you said, again, “don’t think I didn’t hear you talk in your sleep about me, kitten~”. “W-what??” you said, “yeah i heard you, you big simp” he laughs. You didn’t speak to each other for the rest of the day.
Third day: Jack was writing on his typing machine, you approached him, “h-hey, about yesterday..” you said, “sit on my lap, kitten” he said with a warm smile on his face “o-ok” you said. You sat on his lap, he began to write again. “Ya know I love you right?” he said, “yeah” you said, “do you love me too?” he said with a smirk, already knowing the answer, “y-yeah i do” you said.
Forth day, Night time: You went to bed a little earlier than usual, Jack usually went to bed around midnight or 3AM, and you usually waited for him, you were under the sheets and started to fall asleep, you were suddenly woken by a soft kiss on your lips, “hi” he says “hi” you say, “just wanted to say goodnight” he said,”aww thank you” you said
10th day: You woke up a little earlier than usual so you decided to go to downstairs, to check what Jack was writing. You approached his desk, you touched the big stack of papers he had left there from the night before. You only saw one thing written over and over again “i love Y/N” you got scared and took a step back, when you did you felt a warm breath on your neck “how do you like it?“ he said, “u-uh” you said, you knew Jack loved you but you didn’t know he loved you THAT much.
11th day: You woke up, Jack had his face on your chest, you sarted playing with his hair. “Y/N” he said, “yeah?” you said, “ya know I would do anything for you don’t ya?” he said, while wrapping his arms around your waste “yeah i do” you said with a warm comforting smile. You both knew you were bad for each other but you were also perfect for each other. Kinda like an addiction that kept growing and growing and it never ended.

The New Beginning
Summary: After your boyfriend broke up with you, you were comforted by your good friend Eddie, but then you and him let your emotions get the best of you
TW: argument, aggressive language (swearing), abusive ex
E/B/N = Ex Boyfriend’s Name
You were devastated. You and your boyfriend had been together for 3 years. You just spent your whole day in bed listening to mitski and Billie Eilish and crying your eyes out.
Thank god your friend Eddie was going to visit you today, he was the only person who could comfort you right now. Yes of course he was great friends with your, now, ex. But he still cared about you. Like a lot.
“Y/N! I’m here!” said Eddie entering your small apartment. “Y/N?” Eddie got a little panicked from not seeing you near the door to greet him. “In here” you said, with your tired voice and eye bags from crying so much last night.
Eddie enters your room, his smile turns into a sad face. He was really sad that you were in such pain, but also kinda relieved that you were finally out of that toxic relationship. He sits in your bed, next to you, “Y/N…”, he says, while playing with your hair.
Eddie gets up and claps his hands “Come on! It’s time to get up!” you look at him and in your mind you’re just thinking “dammit he looks so good today”. Eddie looks at you with a warm smile, he helps you get up and you go eat lunch.
After lunch Eddie helps you with your self-care routine, he tells you to go take a shower to freshen up and he sits in the bed, waiting for you to finish. After that you two go for a walk in the park, Eddie picks up a flower and puts it in your hair, and you start blushing (intensely). Luckily he didn’t notice (or did he?)
When you get home you both sit on the bed and just start talking about the rain, music, anything. But then your sweet conversation gets interrupted by an aggressive knock on the door “I go get it!” says Eddie (not knowing what is about to happen)
Eddie opens the door only to find your ex standing in the entrance of your apartment “they don’t wanna talk to you, E/B/N” says Eddie with a cold face “shut the fuck up and let me in” says your ex “No.” says Eddie while trying to close the door. Your ex grabs the door and tries to barge in. Eddie starts screaming at him saying that he’s “a fucking psycho” and to “leave Y/N alone”.
You’re still sitting in the bed waiting for Eddie to get back, but then you hear screaming. You get out of your room only to see your ex trying to get in and Eddie holding the door “Get back to your room Y/N!” says Eddie “is that bitch Y/N here!?” says your ex. You run back to your room, with tears in your eyes, you could still hear your ex saying that you’re cheating on him with his friend and that that’s not fair.
Eddie was finally able to close the door after saying that he could easily call the police and tell them what he did to you, your ex got scared and stoped trying to get in. Eddie went into your room only to see you on your bed holding a plushie, crying. “I’m so sorry” you say “Sorry? Sorry for what?” says Eddie “for him” you said. You and Eddie look at each other in silence.
Eddie gets close to you, you start to blush again, eddie puts a hand on your cheek and gives you a kiss on the forehead “it’s all going to be ok” he says. You only believed those words when they went out of Eddie’s mouth. Eddie looks at you and realises that he’s the only person who’s right for you. He gives you another kiss, but this time on the mouth, you’re shocked, you didn’t know that Eddie liked you too. He pulls out of the kiss and you are blushing more. Eddie laughs and gives you a hug. “I love you baby, there, I said it” you start getting overwhelmed but try to take it in “I-I love you too”

Eddie Munson reacting to their S/O wearing his shirt to sleep
-This night was very cold and you only had a shirt on, Eddie decided to give you his hellfire shirt and, wow;
-You looked stunning, yeah of course you’d look stunning in any clothes but this specific outfit seemed to turn Eddie on;
-You and Eddie are on the bed and Eddie starts kissing your neck passionately, seeing you in his hellfire shirt just really did something to him;
-You seem to notice how Eddie acts when you’re wearing that shirt so you decide to tease him here and there, wearing his shirt to do chores and other things around the house;
-Even though Eddie gets kinda sad when you take off his shirt he LOVES to see what’s underneath it

Ask game! Fluffy #8 "We should go look at stars!" Please! 🤗
Thanks for the request @moondancer71. A fluffy prompt deserves sweet teens Jon and Dany. Aren’t they just adorable?
#8 - “We should go look at stars”
Dany rolled over in bed, hugging the pillow tightly to her chest and squeezed her eyes shut to stave off the tears. She tried to focus on the music that was blasting through her headphones, but it was no use. It didn’t matter what tricks she tried to employ, none of them were able to drown out the terrible screaming coming from her parents room.
She should have known they wouldn’t be able to stop their constant bickering, even if it was her big day and they had both promised that morning over breakfast that they’d make it special for her.
But those vows didn’t matter any longer, hadn’t as soon as they both sat down and ordered drinks at her nameday dinner. Now, they were both well and drunk and the gloves were off. What else was new?
The ding of an incoming text caused her eyes to flutter open. She flipped her phone over and the corners of her mouth curved up automatically.
You back from dinner with your family?
It was from Jon, her next door neighbor and best friend.
Just listening to music in my room. You?
She watched the bubbles appear while he was typing and then his message came through.
We should go look at stars.
Biting her lip, she contemplated a moment. It was a school night and almost midnight so she probably shouldn’t. If her parents found out, they’d have a fit.
At the sound of a door slamming and a flurry of curses from her father, her eyes narrowed as she tossed the pillow aside. They didn’t care one bit that they had broken their promise to her, so why should she try so hard to please them?
Ok, let’s do it.
Dany jumped out of bed and quickly took off her ratty tshirt and shorts. Jon had seen her in them before, but lately she’d been wanting to look a bit more put together in front of him. She put on the gift her brother Rhae had given her, no doubt picked out by his wife.
It was a metallic purple and gold striped tank with spaghetti straps. The sweetheart neckline had a heart on the front and hugged close to her body. She paired it with skinny jeans and looked at herself in the mirror, pleased with the way the new top looked on her.
She wondered briefly if Jon would think it was too revealing so she grabbed her purple and yellow jacket and threw it on, zipping it all the way up.
Stepping out onto her balcony, she quietly dragged a chair over close to the roofline and stood on it. Within a minute, his head popped over the side and he grinned down at her.
“Ready to come up?” he asked as he reached for her hands.
Nodding her head, she lifted both arms overhead and he pulled her all the way up to join him. Taking a moment, they grinned at each other in the dark.
They had been sneaking up on her roof for the last three years, ever since her brother Viserys moved out for school and she got his old room. Shortly after that time, Jon started climbing the tree between their houses so he could use it to come over to her side.
It began because they didn’t have cell phones and couldn’t talk after dark, but now, though they both had their own, they still liked to go up there. It was their secret and a special place, just for the two of them.
He held her hand to keep her steady as they moved to the spot he had already picked out, a blanket laid out to cushion them from the rough shingles and a little box beside it. He tried to ignore how soft and warm she was, how her fingers curled tightly to his.
Tried not to focus on how perfect her hand felt clasped within his own.
As Jon pulled her along to where he had his stuff set out, she thought she felt a tremor of his fingers along hers, but dismissed it as wishful thinking. He was so self assured and confident; there wasn’t any need for him to be nervous.
Unlike her, she was sure his heart wasn’t pounding away in his chest; certain he didn’t have problems breathing at her nearness the way she seemed to be at his.
They sat side by side and she took the time to unzip her jacket and shrug it off her shoulders. She snuck a glance at him and pretended not to notice the way his eyes widened slightly at the sight of her. Instead, she bit her lip to keep her pleased smile from giving her away.
From their height on the roof, the streetlamps didn’t really provide much lighting, but still, he couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off of her. Dany was so pretty under the full moon with the stars shining brightly overhead, her silver blonde hair illuminating her lovely face.
“How was your celebration dinner?”
She gave a listless shrug of one shoulder, her lips turned down in a frown. “It was ok, I guess. Since Vis and Rhaenys couldn’t take time off from uni, it was just my parents, Rhae, Elia and Egg.”
Dany tried to smile, but he could see the sadness in her eyes. “Was it another bad fight?”
Letting out a sigh, she leaned into him and he wrapped his arm around her, tucking her closer to his side.
“Yes,” she said quietly. “They were doing so well, but then once they started drinking, I just knew it was going to end badly. My father accused my mother of cheating, then she called him crazy and that pretty much got us kicked out of the restaurant.”
She thought back to earlier and how humiliating it was with all the diners gawking at them while Rhae scrambled to take care of the check after her parents stormed out of the restaurant.
“Elia wanted me to spend the night at their house after they dropped us off, but I didn’t want to,” she explained. “I just wanted to go to sleep and wait for this awful day to end.”
She lay her head on his shoulder and even though she was being truthful when she said she couldn’t wait for the day to be over, it was no longer the case. More than anything, she wanted this moment to linger.
“Dany, I’m so sorry you had an awful night.”
It came as no shock that they ruined her day. Too many times he’d seen her eyes red rimmed in the morning on their drive to school. He always had to bite his tongue and put on a polite smile if one of her parents greeted him at the door when all he wanted to do was tell them off for the pain they caused her.
Jon reached between them and squeezed her hand gently before letting go. “I wish I could have made your nameday better.”
She lifted her face up, her eyes holding his steadily and his breath hitched for just a moment. Sometimes, when she looked at him, really looked at him, as she was doing now, he thought maybe she could see right through him. Maybe she knew his secret after all.
A secret that was shaped just like her. One he held in the depths of his heart, too afraid to let out for fear that he would ruin everything between them.
“You already have, Jon.”
His beautiful face lit up in a smile and it made her smile in turn. He had no idea that just being with him like this, in their secret hideaway, was better than any gift she had been given.
Up here, under the blanket of shining stars, there was nothing but silence. No screaming, cursing or crying. No empty promises that would go unfilled. No disappointed sighs over thick tension at the dinner table.
Up here, under the watchful eye of the moon, the only sounds were the giggles Jon always coaxed from her. His eyes spoke promises his lips never had to say, telling her she would always matter to him. And the only sighs ever heard were when they had to part from one another.
Shifting back from her, he opened the box sitting beside him.
“Close your eyes,” he said. “I have a surprise for you.”
“What is it?” She tried to peek around his body, but he moved to intercept and block her view.
“No peeking,” he chastised. “Just close your eyes and you’ll find out soon enough.”
She pouted for just a split second, but did as he requested. His hands drew hers from her lap and brought them to hold out in front of her. She could feel the tingle of his touch and tried not to hold on to his fingers as he pulled away from her.
Something lightweight was placed into her palms and she perked her ears, trying to figure out what he was doing as she heard a couple of clicks, then a sizzle. She could smell smoke and behind her closed lids, she saw lights dancing.
“Ok, you can open your eyes now.”
She gasped in surprise at the sight that greeted her and was hit with a wave of embarrassment when her eyes suddenly teared up.
“You got me a cake!”
Dany was blinking rapidly and in the flickering light from the sparkling candle, he could see her eyes were wet with tears. He hoped she wouldn’t cry because that wasn’t his intent at all.
“Well, not exactly,” he said sheepishly. “It’s just a cupcake, but I figure you might be caked out from dinner so this is just a little something extra.”
She didn’t say anything and just looked at him as she bit her lip, violet eyes extra large in the soft glow of light. “I didn’t want the day to end without letting you know how special you are.”
“Oh, Jon,” she sighed out. “Thank you so much.”
He had no idea, but his gesture truly meant more than she could ever say. The truth was, there wasn’t a nameday cake for her. Her parents' antics caused the dinner to be cut short and in the ensuing fallout, the restaurant staff completely forgot about bringing her cake out from the kitchen.
No one in her family even remembered it and not only did it feel petty to bring it up, but she didn’t exactly feel like celebrating with anyone after that.
“I would sing to you, but I think you’ve suffered enough for one night,” he teased.
She giggled at him and bumped her knee against his. “C’mon, you have a pretty voice.”
Shaking his head, he refused to budge. There was no way he’d sing to her, especially after she called his voice pretty. “Even though I won’t serenade you, you can still make a wish.”
Dany could see he wasn’t going to give in so she closed her eyes. She didn’t even have to think about it; she knew exactly what she wanted. Perhaps, since the heavens were bearing witness to this moment, they would finally grant her what she wished for most in this world.
Blinking her eyes open, she blew out the single flame and once again they were bathed in only the light from the dark sky above.
“Will you share the cupcake with me?” she asked.
At his nod, she unwrapped the paper lining and split the dessert into two halves before handing his piece to him.
Jon watched as she poked her tongue out and licked at the top of the icing. Instantly, he felt flushed and he was grateful for the dark that hid his red face. Unlike the small ladylike nibbles she was taking, he took two bites and finished the whole thing while her eyes goggled at him.
After four more bites, she was almost done and turned to him. Holding out the small morsel, she gave him a shy smile. “Since you were so sweet to get me a cupcake, I want you to have the last piece.”
Before he could reach out to take it from her, she brought her hands up to his lips. Their eyes locked in the dark and his mouth opened automatically to receive her.
He was warm against her fingertips and when he took the sweet from her, his teeth grazed her skin, just the tiniest bit. It sent a jolt of electricity through her and she quickly pulled her hand back, less he noticed how they shook.
Her fingers were smeared with icing and not giving it any thought, she brought them to her mouth and licked at the sugar, right over where his lips had just been a moment before.
Watching as she lightly sucked on her finger, he was overcome with a need to finish what she started. Maybe it was the look on her face as her eyes stared into his, but a streak of boldness took over and he leaned over until their faces were inches apart.
“I thought you said I’d get the last taste.”
Without hesitation, her fingers popped out from between her lips and he closed in until he was pressed against her skin. He lightly skimmed his mouth over the cream smeared tips, barely stroking them before her hand dropped away.
With nothing to separate them, he moved in and finally, brushed his lips against hers.
Jon could taste the sweetness of her, but knew it had nothing to do with the icing. This was a moment he’d only dreamed about and he savored the flavor of Dany on his mouth.
His arms came to wrap gently around her waist and she shifted into him. As they tentatively explored their secret yearnings for one another, she breathed in the scent of him, letting it wash over and wrap around her.
He was hot against her lips and their mouths danced, taking turns leading. Her body was humming from being held in his strong arms, a warmth flooding through her veins at his touch. This was where she wanted to stay forever, with their hearts beating furiously together as they held onto each other.
When they pulled apart, she fluttered her lids open to find him watching her, his eyes shining, a hopeful smile on his face .
“What do you want to do now?” he asked, his breathing slightly labored. “Do you want to head back inside?”
“No,” she said with a slight shake of her head before her own smile lit up her face. “I would like to look at stars.”
Grinning widely, he lay back on the blanket and opened his arm, patting one shoulder in invitation. She moved into his embrace and he closed in around her.
“Happy Nameday, Dany,” Jon whispered against her ear before placing a small kiss to her temple.
She snuggled against him and smiled up at the stars in a silent bid of thanks. It was a happy nameday. It truly was.

Be Alright | Charlie Gillespie
Pairing: Charlie Gillespie x Actress!Reader
Summary: In your eyes, Charlie had the perfect family and you often got overwhelmed by it. Charlie shows you that you mean a lot to him too.
Warnings: Mentions of anxiety, fluff
Word Count: 1,392
A/n: This was requested by a lovely anon. Hope y’all enjoy!
You met Charlie on the set of Charmed (2018). He portrayed Brian, while you were just an extra. Even though you were just an extra with a couple of lines, Charlie somehow managed to approach you. You two became friends right off the bat, and you immediately had a connection with him. He had an incredible energy about him, and he was always so fun to hang out with.
Charlie had a very different life than you. He had a very supportive family. His mother always wanted Charlie to be passionate about music, and he was, which really helped him in his new role as Luke in Julie and the Phantoms. His family was very in favor of his acting, while your family wasn’t. They hated that you wanted to pursue acting. Your father was out of the picture early, and your mother was not supportive of basically anything that you did. You two would constantly argue and things would often get ugly. It was all very overwhelming for you.
Over the past few years that you and Charlie have been friends, you have grown to know his family quite well. When Charlie introduced you to them, they instantly loved you. They thought that you were a great friend to Charlie and they always invited you to family gatherings. You were very flattered, but oftentimes you would feel jealous of the amazing family Charlie had, other times you would feel overwhelmed. Today was one of those days.
Charlie had invited you to his family holiday party. He knew that you weren’t close to your family, so he thought it’d be nice to ask you to join his gathering. You said yes because, in all honesty, you hated saying no to Charlie. He was your best friend, after all. He supported you throughout everything, so you couldn’t say no.
Charlie picked you up for the party and he instantly felt your nervousness. He did know you like the back of his hand. You knew when you were anxious or sad, and he always knew how to make you feel better.
“Y/n, don’t worry,” Charlie reassured you. “You know that they absolutely love you.” It was all true. Charlie’s family loved you so much. They were blessed to have you in their lives and you were so good to Charlie.
Charlie drove you both to his house. It wasn’t a far drive so you didn’t have much time to prepare for what was about to come. You had no idea what it would be like. You were hoping that all would go well.
“Ok, we are here,” Charlie said as he pulled up to his childhood home. He got out of the car, and like the true gentlemen that he is, opened the car door for you. “You ready?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” You stepped over of Charlie’s car and went inside his house with him. When you entered, you immediately felt the loving presence. It was something you felt every time you enter Charlie’s childhood home. It made you feel safe. Sometimes you knew that and still felt anxious. It was very complicated to explain.
Charlie’s mother immediately rushed over to the two of you. You both hung up your coats and she pulled you into her embrace.
“Charlie! Y/n! It’s so good to see you two!” Charlie’s mother, Jeanette said with a smile. After she pulled away from you, she went to hug her son.
“You hugged Y/n first and not me.” Charlie pretended to pout. Jeanette laughed at her son’s childish antics.
“I guess I have a favorite,” she teased. She pulled away from Charlie to look at both of you. “Make yourselves comfortable. I’m going to set up more snacks for everyone.” Jeanette went to the kitchen and Charlie pulled on your arm to guide you to the couch.
“Come, cupcake. Let’s sit,” Charlie said with a smile. Charlie called you cupcake because when he first met you he saw you eating a cupcake at craft services. Charlie pulled you beside him next to his sister on the sofa. He made conversation with his brothers, sister, and cousins. It all seemed very natural to Charlie, but you, on the other hand, felt overwhelmed being around a loving family. After a couple of minutes of making small talk with Charlie’s sister, Meghan, you began feeling slightly anxious.
“Char?” You called out as you pressed your hand to his shoulder. You wanted to get away from the family scene for a bit, but you were scared about Charlie’s reaction to your request. Charlie turned to face you and looked at you with worry. Charlie knew you better than anyone. He could tell whenever you felt upset.
“What’s wrong, Y/n?” Charlie asked. He grabbed your hand, out of concern for you.
“I’m kinda feeling anxious right now. Can I head to your room for a bit?”
“Of course. Do you want me to come with you?” Charlie offered. All he wanted to do was make sure that you were alright. He cared about you so deeply and loved you with all of his heart, and whatever worried you, worried him.
“No need. I’ll be back soon,” you said and then got up to go to Charlie’s childhood bedroom. When you got there, you sat on Charlie’s bed and began to tear up. You usually felt overwhelmed in these types of situations. His family was perfect, and that’s all you ever wanted. They were all so loving and your family wasn’t. You looked around at the pictures around Charlie’s room. Many photos of him and his siblings surrounded you and that didn’t help the sadness you felt deep inside you.
Charlie knew to come to look after you. Even though you told him to stay and mingle with his family, he couldn’t help but want to help you. Charlie knocked on his door hoping that you weren’t crying. He hated seeing you cry. It pained him inside.
“Charlie?” You sniffled.
“Yeah, it’s me.” He said and then came into the room. “Y/n…” He trailed off as he saw you crying. He made his way over to the bed and kneeled in front of you. “Why are you crying, cupcake?”
“It’s embarrassing, Charlie.”
“You can tell me anything.” He grabbed your hand as a reassurance that he would always listen to you.
“I just don’t feel like I’m good enough for you.”
“What makes you think that?” Charlie questioned. He didn’t want to believe the words coming out of your mouth. Charlie really admired you and had strong feelings towards you. He hated seeing you like this.
“You have a perfect family.” Charlie scoffed at your words and pulled his hand away. “What was that for?” You asked.
“My family is far from perfect.” Charlie insisted. “We all have our issues. That’s what makes us human.”
“I know, but your family is loving, and mine isn’t.”
“You’re my family, Y/n,” Charlie said and your heart fluttered at his words. “I love you, alright?”
“You do?” You were very insecure about how people felt about you. A part of you was worried that Charlie didn’t mean it, but you knew he didn’t throw words around like that.
“Of course, I do. You mean everything to me.” Charlie meant that with everything in him.
“I love you, too, Charlie,” you said and Charlie reached to grab your hand. You interlaced your fingers together with his.
“Ready to go back out there?” He asked gently, not wanting to pressure you.
“Not just yet.” You replied.
“Oh, okay,” he said as he got up to leave.
“Stay?” You asked and Charlie came back over to you. “Hold me for a while?”
“Definitely,” he said and then came to lay down with you. You both stayed in each others’ arms for a while. You felt Charlie’s heart beating out of his chest.
“You’re so special to me, you know?” You said. You don’t know where you’d be without Charlie. He has impacted your life in so many ways and you were grateful to have him in your life.
“I know. You’re special to me too,” he said as he placed a kiss on the top of your head. That’s when you knew you’d be alright, as long as you were with Charlie.

Save Me, Please!
Chapter 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 …
𝔚𝔞𝔯𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰:
Stalking, gaslighting, phycological manipulation, anything that has to do with the yandere trope.
After that day, you slept a little better. Suddenly, your bed was so much comfier than you thought. Your apartment was suddenly safer. Homier.
No one could get past that deadbolt.
As it turns out, though, that man wasn’t real after all.
He couldn’t be, because even though the locks were double, triple, and even quadruple checked, he still made himself comfortable at the foot of your bed.
He waited to return into your nightmares for about a week after the locks were put on. It was similar, almost exactly the same, as how it was the first time.
You found yourself paralyzed in your bed. You wanted to scream, to run, but your body just wouldn’t allow that. You just had to wait it out.
As he watched.
And he watched intently. Still, you couldn’t pick out all the details of his face from the darkness, but the one thing you could see was his eyes.
They were an icy shade of sky blue, and they were bright enough that it looked as if they could even be glowing.
He’d always do the same thing, too. Once he saw your widened eyes, he’d simply leave your room.
When you woke up that first time, you carefully and painstakingly searched your house for one singular thing out of place. Nothing. He...isn’t real.
You texted All Might. Maybe he had something good to say.
“Hey, um I know this is childish, but I think I had a nightmare,” you typed out. It was 4 in the morning, so you didn’t exactly expect a response. However, within a couple seconds, he already texted you back.
“Are u ok?? Do u need me to come over?? I'm patrolling right by u so it's no problem”
“sure if you’re not busy” you reply.
5 minutes later, he was in your apartment.
“What did I tell you about locking your front door?” he growled. You were startled, gasping at his entrance. He didn’t knock or otherwise announce his presence. He was just there, now.
“I did lock it!” you retorted.
“Then how the fuck am I in here?” he yelled. You recoiled at his harsh tone. He never cursed, for one thing, and for another, he never scolded you quite this severely.
You couldn’t help but start crying.
“All Might, I know I locked that door. I’m telling you, I did.”
He clenched his fist.
“Tell that to the guy that comes in here next time and rapes you. What if I weren’t here, y/n? What the fuck could you do? Cry about it?”
You gasped at that comment.
“How...how could you-”
“No. How could you let yourself be put in this kind of situation?”
All Might bent down to your level, pulling you close. You punched at his chest, his arms, tried your best to get the fuck away from him. You didn’t want anyone, no less someone who just said something like that, anywhere near you right now.
He disregarded your futile struggles, though. Instead, he gently whispered your name, hushing and shushing you, running his fingers through your hair.
“Listen to me. I need you to be safe. Can’t you see that? I need you to know how special you are, and how you need to be more careful. If...if anything ever happened to you, I don’t think you really understand what would happen to me...” he mumbled.
Your stomach turned. His comfort was violent, in a non violent way. It was obvious that he thought he was helping, but really, his overly passionate embrace was more unsettling than anything he could have said to you.
That incident caused All Might to patrol around your neighborhood much more than usual. He loitered around your apartment in the shadows, carefully and silently watching out for any villains or criminals.
Knowing he was there did admittedly help. The man stayed away for an even longer period. You began to feel safer again, your bed transforming from a cold rock to its normal, warm cloud of comfort.
Then, he came back. This time, though, he was sitting on the edge of your bed. He didn’t notice when you woke up.
You carefully studied his face, his body, and his entire being through the blurry vision of terror.
He was skinny; skinnier than any human should ever be. His height was towering as a result of his too-long limbs, and his scleras were pitch black.
Unlike any other time, you were able to move. As soon as you realized this, you realized that it might actually be to your advantage to not move.
I mean, if he really is real, and thinks I’m asleep, maybe he’ll just leave me alone. But if I get up and try to fight him, it’s entirely possible that he could seriously hurt me.
The man pulled out his phone, which bore a simple red plastic case, checking the time. He grunted, getting up and eyeing what he thought was your sleeping form. The man patted you on your leg gently with his chilled hand.
As he stood, his bones creaked, popped, and you could tell he was in a little pain. Soon, though, he was out of your room, taking one last look at you from the darkened doorway.
He mumbled something before closing your door gently.
As soon as the little noises were gone from the rest of the apartment, you immediately took out your phone, rapidly texting All Might.
“I saw him again. He just left.”
Instantly, the message was sent, and you heard a little, tiny ding from down the hall. It was faint enough for you to consider it a hallucination. Hell, it can’t be that far off at this point.
All Might received and read the message, but said nothing. A minute later, maybe even less, he was at your door.
When you opened it to greet him, you smelled something a little funny, so you peeped past him and down the hall. White smoke was dissipating all through the hallway.
He didn’t seem to notice, but your apartment had a strict no smoking policy. You sighed.
“I’m sorry for bothering you again, but... I don't know...I guess I thought that maybe you might see him running out or something?” you frowned.
“I didn’t see anybody. Are you sure you’re not just having bad dreams?” he frowned, hand on his hip.
“I know what I saw. I’m not crazy.”
He sighed deeply.
“Maybe you should think about moving out to somewhere safer, outside of the city,” he paused to take out his phone.
“I can help you look for a place,” offered All Might, his fingers typing something into his phone. The red plastic case he had on it making your stomach roll over.

Guys Like You Chapter 14
Title: Guys Like You
Chapter: 14
Chapter Summary: Settling into family life.
Rating: 18+
Warnings: It’s so much tooth rotting fluff. Like... I went overboard with the fluff, I couldn’t help myself.

"Briar." Henry whispered, popping his head into the room where the little girl was playing.
"What?"
"Mama's resting up for tonight, how about you and me go check out that park down the street?" Henry suggested, hushing the girl when she squealed excitedly. Overall, finding a place to move in together hadn't been too much of an effort. Henry found Faye wasn't too picky when it came to homes. She had been impressed by every one they had seen. They had decided on one that was on a nice quiet street, not too far from town, had a big fenced in yard for Kal, enough rooms for everyone plus a park just down the street. Briar had been begging Faye to take her since they had moved in last week, but they found it hard to find time for an adventure while also trying to settle in.
If Henry had to venture a guess, he'd say they were about 3/4 of the way there. The kitchen and the bedrooms had been sorted. Henry's office/gaming room was still mostly in boxes, as well as most of the living room furniture. So far, the only thing not boxed in the living room was the couch, which Faye was currently passed out on. They had intended to unpack more, but Henry could tell she wasn't feeling right. Faye told him it was just a headache, but Henry insisted she lay down anyway.
Now was their chance to sneak out and procrastinate on actually working on the house. Henry made sure her jacket was zipped up and her hat was secure before taking her little mitten clad hand in his, leading the giddy girl down the street to the park. Her eyes lit up when she saw all the different things to play with, from slides to swings to monkey bars, all just waiting for her to climb all over them. Her hand was free from Henry's the second her little sneakered feet touched the grass, darting off to go and play on as many different things as she could.
Henry followed after the little girl, lifting her into the toddler swing at her request and setting her in motion, unable to keep the smile from his face at her elated giggles. He had intended to keep her low, not wanting to scare the little girl, but was soon reminded of her love of baby adrenaline when she started demanding to go higher and higher. He finally reached the point where she was swinging near his face, squealing in laughter the entire time, her little mitten clad hands holding the chains as her feet kicked gleefully.
"Catch, catch!" Briar laughed, twisting around to plant a kiss to Henry's jaw when he caught the seat. "Again!"
Henry was more than happy to comply, releasing the seat and letting her swing again, stepping back and giving another small push. He had half a mind to record her time on the swings; this was the type of moment that the best memories are made of. She was so happy, soaring through the air without a care in the world. He hadn't known her for very long, but he already could tell she was growing up more. She was turning into her own little person, with her own thoughts and ideas. So stubborn, unafraid to take risks and she had him wrapped around her little finger. Just like her mother. He somehow felt bad for missing out on the first years of her life, even though he didn't know her then. She deserved to have a father figure to spoil her. She needed someone in her life to show her how a woman should be treated so she wouldn't settle with someone that wasn't right for her.
How her own father could want nothing to do with her was baffling to him. She was the sweetest little girl. She would constantly pop out of nowhere to squeeze his leg in a hug and scurry off again. Every time he picked her up, she would kiss his cheek and throw her little arms around his neck. She cuddled close for bedtime stories, always reacting like it was the first time whenever he would read one to her. How anyone could decide not to be a part of her life was beyond him, but at the same time he was glad. If her biological father hadn't been a complete douchebag, he wouldn't be where he was now, living with the woman he had fallen with so hard, so fast. He wouldn't have a house to fill with their own memories together. He wouldn't have someone special with him at the premiere tonight. He wouldn't have taken the little girl with him on a sneaky adventure to the park while the woman he loved was napping on the couch. He wouldn't have his own little family so for that, he was grateful.
"Down!" Briar decided when she swung back to him, her eyes locking on the slides and large play structure not too far away. Of course, she would want to climb on something while she was there. Henry stopped the swing's motion and unfastened the little girl, her feet barely touching the ground before she was sprinting off again toward the slides.
Henry chuckled to himself at the little girl's excitement, sitting down on a nearby bench to keep watch as she played. She was a little ball of energy, climbing the ladder to the slide and going down head first, giggling the entire time. She zipped across the play yard, climbing the large structure in the middle and going down the curly slide on one side. Henry settled back into his seat as he observed, silently patting himself on the back. She would be too worn out to throw up a fuss for the babysitter when they had to leave later. He just hoped Faye was feeling better by then. He would hate to drag her out for something this important when she felt unwell.
Her stunning dress had been delivered just two days ago, her face lighting up when she caught her first glimpse of it. Henry knew she would look beautiful in it. He also had the feeling she would look even better when he took it off later that evening. The couple had wasted no time in christening every surface they possibly could. Their bed, the bedroom wall, the shower, the vanity, the couch, the kitchen counter, the table. Everywhere they could possibly get to and not wake the baby was fair game.
Between moving, and the premiere, he also had his mother's birthday coming up. That was something he needed to remember to tell Faye about. It had somehow slipped his mind with everything else going on. He had told his mother they would all try to make it out to see her for her birthday, but he had somehow forgotten to bring it up to Faye. Hopefully she didn't have anything else planned. His mother was really looking forward to meeting her.
Henry slowly scanned around the play area of the park, taking note of everyone else around. It quickly became apparent that all the other adults were women. Most of which were currently staring at him, quite possibly recognizing who he was. He really should have worn a hat to hide behind. Would that look weirder though? A random guy sitting on a park bench, hiding his face behind a hat, watching children play? Why weren't there more fathers out with their children? Sure, his own father worked a lot when he was growing up, but he always had weekends off, and he made sure to make time for his family on those days. This was a Saturday afternoon, shouldn't there be at least one or two other men around? His overthinking was making him more and more uncomfortable the longer he dwelled on it.
"PAPA!" Henry jumped up without thinking, his current train of thought instantly cut off at the child's scream. His eyes locked on her in a second and he dashed across the playground in four quick strides to kneel down next to the little girl on the ground who was holding her knee and crying. He was suddenly grateful no other men were around. It would have been really awkward for him to go running up to someone else's kid like that.
"Hey, hey, it's ok." Henry soothed, picking her up and letting her cry into his neck. "What happened, princess?"
"I... I fell do-down." Briar sobbed, clinging to him as he rubbed her back.
"It's ok. You're ok." Henry assured, deciding then was the best time to take their leave as many sets of motherly eyes had already locked on him, now hyper aware of his presence. This seemed to be quickly going from a fun bonding experience to Henry being turned into eye candy as he tried to soothe a crying child.
Briar had calmed down considerably by the time he had gotten them home, though he decided to continue carrying her anyway. If he had to guess, she wasn't exactly in the mood for walking. He tried to be quiet when he came back inside, hoping not to wake Faye and alert her to their sneaky adventure; it didn't matter how quiet his entrance was however, as Faye was already waiting by the door when he came in.
"Is she ok?" Faye asked softly, looking at the girl still clinging to him as though her life depended on it.
"I fell down." Briar sniffed, slowly reaching to her mother for more coddling.
"I bet that was scary." Faye soothed, taking the child in her arms and kissing her head softly. "Did you fall off of something at the playground or did you just trip?"
"Just trip." Briar mumbled, cuddling close to her mother.
"How did you know where we went?" Henry asked suspiciously, raising a brow as he began taking his coat off.
"Oh please, it's not rocket science. She's been begging to go since we moved here, you'll do anything she asks and the playground is in the direction I saw you two coming from. Busted, mister." Faye explained as she helped the little girl out of her coat and mittens.
"It wasn't sweeties before dinner this time." Henry defended himself, stealing a kiss as he reached beside her to hang up his coat, taking Briar's and hanging it up as well.
"You should have woken me up, I would have loved to have gone too." Faye pouted, slowly letting the squirming child down.
"You weren't feeling well, and tonight is an important night." Henry reasoned, resting his hands on her hips and pulling her closer.
"So you really want the babysitter coming here with everything still in boxes?"
"If I hurry, I can probably make the living room look livable. At least mount the TV or something. Possibly just set the iPad up on the coffee table and pretend that's what we use as a TV."
"Yes, because I'm sure they will believe that a giant geek ass dork nerd like you would have such a tiiiiiny little screen to watch his nerd shows on."
"Well I did find myself a small woman. Maybe I just really like little things." Henry teased, kissing the top of her head.
"Who do you think you're calling small?"
"You." Henry shrugged, kissing the top of her head again.
"I will have you know, I am not small. Everything else is just big."
"That's what you always tell me that every time we - ouch!" Henry chuckled, rubbing his ribs where Faye had poked him.
"That did not hurt."
"Well it didn't feel nice either!"
"We need to get the living room unpacked, come on." Faye insisted, quickly poking his ribs again and dashing off to the living room, Briar poking Henry's hip and racing off after her mother.
"Woman! You are teaching the baby bad habits!" Henry chastised, pursuing after both of them.
"I am doing no such thing! She needs to learn your weaknesses." Faye taunted, keeping the couch between her and her boyfriend.
"I already do whatever she asks, why does she need a weakness?" Henry laughed, slowly circling around one side, both girls skittering around to the other.
"One day you may say no." Faye shrugged, squealing when Henry reached over the back of the couch, grabbing her wrist and pulling her to him.
"Now why would I ever say no to either of my girls?" Henry asked, cupping her jaw and kissing her softly.
"There might be an occasion." Faye reasoned, bumping her forehead against his, her other hand sneaking up to tickle his ribs again.
"Would you stop?" Henry grumbled, dragging her over the back of the couch and wrapping his arms around her tightly.
"I will never stop."
"Papa, no!" Briar gasped, running around to the back of the couch and grabbing her mother's hand. "Mama, come on!" She urged, trying to pull her free.
"Oh what, now you're on her side? I thought you were on team me!" Henry gasped, letting Faye be pulled from his arms.
"Gonna get you!" Briar giggled, attempting to tickle at his leg.
"Ok, now this is not fair!" Henry grouched, letting Faye go to snatch Briar up instead. "Two on one, really?"
"Papa, down!" Briar squealed, wiggling when he started to tickle her sides.
"Down? Now why would I put you down?" Henry laughed, jumping and barely suppressing a swear when Faye snatched his ribs again.
"Briar, I'll make you a deal. I'll let you go if you help me get Mama." Henry stage whispered to the child, setting her down and chasing after her mother when she darted off down the hall.
"Mama!" Briar cheered, chasing after the two, Kal now following the rest of the family to the kitchen.
"I know what you're planning, and it's not a good idea." Faye warned, slowly backing up to the counter.
"Oh, and why is that?" Henry asked, pressing up close to her, pinning her between his body and the counter.
"I'll tell on you."
"And who are you gonna tell? Briar? She's on my side now, remember?"
"Uhh... how about your mother? Would she side with me?"
"Oh!" Henry lit up, his mind jumping to another subject while he still had her trapped by his body. "That reminds me. My mum's birthday is next week, she's wanting us to come."
"That's a bit of a distance, isn't it? You have to factor in a toddler sized bladder into all travel plans now, my love."
"That is true. We also have to worry about Briar having to stop for restroom breaks."
"Oh, Mr. Somebody over here thinks he has jokes." Faye scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"We can fly there, it won't be as bad." Henry reasoned, kissing the top of her head. "She's really wanting to meet you two."
"Wait, she knows about us?"
"Faye, do you really think my mother wouldn't know about the woman I've been dating for the last ten months? We've moved in together, I think the people close to us are starting to suspect something."
"But I mean... does she know about us?" Faye asked, her eyes flicking down to the little girl trying to climb Henry's leg.
"She's excited to have another little girl to spoil. For some reason, us Cavill's just don't have very many girls."
"And she's ok with that?" Faye asked, fiddling with the hem of her shirt nervously.
"Why wouldn't she be?"
"I don't know. It's... a lot. It was a lot having you step in and step up like you did. It just doesn't seem like something a mother would want for her baby boy."
"I'm in my thirties." Henry snorted.
"Yes. You are over six feet tall, over two hundred pounds and over thirty years old. You are also her little baby boy."
"Briar, am I a baby?" Henry asked, reaching down to scoop her up.
"No, you Papa Bear!" Briar giggled, planting a kiss on his cheek.
"And there's also that. Since when does she call you Papa?"
"She just yelled it a the park." Henry shrugged. "Is it something we need to discuss?"
"Well I mean... if the shoe fits." Faye mumbled. "I just don't want her to freak you out."
"I've been acting the part for a while now, if it bothered me, I would have said something. We're a family now, Faye. You're stuck with me."
"Oh am I?"
"Yes you are. If you leave, I'm going with you. Right Kal?" Henry asked, looking down at the canine, his tail swooshing across the floor in excitement at being included in whatever was going on.
"So now I have three children to worry about?" Faye groaned, her head falling back in mock annoyance.
"It would seem that way, yes. One is very easy to care for, however. He can let himself outside and his food is on an automatic timer."
"I don't know if you mean you, or Kal."
"Alright, two of us then."
"Enough with the distractions now, Mister Sir. We have more work to do around here." Faye reminded, reaching up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek and taking Briar from his arms.
"So, I'm going to unpack the living room and you two are...?" Henry fished, reluctantly releasing Faye from her prison.
"I'm gonna help Briar get her room the way she likes it."
"Her room was the first thing we did." Henry pointed out suspiciously, his eyes narrowing as Faye skittered around him. "Oh no, you get back here, Woman!" He called, taking off after them again, mother and daughter both laughing as Faye hurried to Briar's room. He caught up with the two of them just as Faye was setting her daughter down, quickly snatching his girlfriend up and playfully biting at her neck. "You are not getting away that easy!"
"It was worth a shot." Faye sighed, letting him drag her back to the living room where he promptly sat on the couch, settling her in his lap and resting his head on her shoulder. "This doesn't seem like unpacking." She teased, resting her head against his.
"Of course it is. We are visualizing how we want it to look." Henry chuckled, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. "What are you thinking?"
"Hmm... TV over the fireplace?"
"A solid choice."
"Coffee table in front of the couch. Side table over there. Briar's little table and chair over there. Probably put Kal's bed next to it."
"He'll lay next to her whether we put the bed there or not." Henry pointed out.
"True. How good are you at putting together IKEA furniture?"
"It is definitely going to be a job for another day." Henry decided, eying the few new pieces they had gotten for the larger living room.
"The toys should probably be near Briar's table so she's not tracking them everywhere. Kal's toy basket can go by his bed. We'll find a place for the pictures once we have the big stuff figured out."
"Sounds perfect." Henry agreed, holding her a little tighter when she tried to stand up. "Just a few more minutes of visualization."
"If you keep putting it off, it'll never get done."
"I'm not putting it off. I'm prioritizing physical contact with my lady right now."
"You just don't want to mount the TV."
"It's a pain in the ass to mount that thing." Henry groaned, looking at the still heavily wrapped TV leaned against the wall.
"It's your TV."
"And I did the sensible thing and paid extra for someone else to fight with it the second time I moved."
"We should have done that with all the furniture."
"Feels less personal, though."
"That's true. Now come on, big guy. We've got stuff to move around." Faye sighed, sliding from his lap and offering her hand to him to help him off the couch, not that he needed it. She would take any excuse she could to touch him, however.
The pair got to work, Henry doing the literal heavy lifting despite Faye's protest that she could move things on her own. They managed to get the furniture - minus the TV - in place; Briar occasionally popping in with a new snack every time, offering each a bite before scampering off again. Faye was putting Briar's toys in her toy chest while Henry went through the boxes, looking for any others containing toys.
"Oh, I found the bath toys!" Henry announced, holding the box up proudly.
"Oh, great. Briar's going to be thrilled when she takes her next bath." Faye sighed in relief. To say the little girl had been less than thrilled to have a plain no-toys-or-bubbles bath was an understatement. As it turns out, no more tears shampoo does not apply when the cause of the tears is from lack of toys.
Henry was putting the toys in the cabinet, down low where Briar would be able to choose what she wanted for herself, when he first saw it. It was a blue and white box with one particular word that grabbed his attention without even trying.
"Faye?" He called, his heart in his throat as he picked up the box, raising a brow at her when she appeared in the doorway, unable to force himself to form words.
"I haven't taken it yet." Faye admitted, seeming to shrink in front of his eyes, the words on the box staring accusingly at her.

Hearing a knock on my door, I stick my head out the bathroom to scream "come in!" thinking that it was jisung or Felix . The door silently opens and closes and I hear soft footsteps "hey, it's me" I knew that voice anywhere! It was Hyunjin. "I wanted to talk about the other day he stated calmly.
Butterflies began to kick in and I stood there in the mirror trying to prepare myself for whatever was going to happen but I knew I couldn’t avoid it.
I walk out the bathroom to see the tall boy sitting on my bed, I wave while giving him a soft smile. "Hey" I simply said , walking towards him. Once I finally reach my bed I jumped up to sit down because the bed sat up a little high so it was kindve hard for me to just sit down on it.
"I know it's been like a while since we've been able to talk due to us both being so busy, sorry about that" he was right, we have been so busy with missions, and meetings.
I do a little bit of everything because the boys all trained me in everything except Hyunjin. He's a master when it comes to weapons and his aim is insane. They said that he once shot a moving target while blindfolded. I needed to learn that from him, plus ever since the meeting I interrupted, they've been getting way more business then normal. More people to kill, more goods to sell, and definitely way less time to see each other. "It's fine" I spoke softly, something I normally don't do if you knew me but I guess the nervousness took over.
"Look I'm gonna get straight to the point" Hyunjin sighed before continuing. "I'm in love with you" my eyes grew wide at his confessions he was so blunt about it that it caught me off guard. "I know it's wrong and I've hated myself for it. I tried my best to separate myself from you hoping that it would help but you ended up thinking I hated you" Hyunjin's voiced cracked a little meaning he was getting a little emotional but trying not to show it.
I sigh trying to be nice as I can about everything. "Hyunjin" I started but he stopped me before I could even get anywhere. "Tell me you don't love me too" I just sat there speechless. Why would he put me on the spot like this? "Tell me so I can get over you, so that I can hate you, so that I don't have to wonder 'what if' " His eyes began to get water and I could tell that soon he wouldn't be able to hold his tears back anymore. "Tell me" he now whispered chocking on his sadness. "I-I" stuck and lost for words, I kinley was now starting to sound like a broken record.
"I can't" I finally spitted out.
"I'm gonna tell Chris" now I knew he was absolutely crazy. "Are you out of your fucking mind?!" I was sure he wanted to die at this point. I knew for a fact that Chris wouldn't take that well.
"I have too! He deserves to know Kinley" He says standing up and storming towards the door. I chase after him to stop him "Let me do it!" I screamed I knew that if it were to come from me that there would be a bigger chance that Hyunjin's life wouldn't be taken from him.
"I'll tell Chris ok?" I say trying to calm Hyunjin down, he was obviously way too emotional to think clearly right now. It was as if in cue I heard a sudden voice behind me go "tell me what?" I face palmed hoping I was just hearing things and that Chris wasn't actually behind me.
"What do you have to tell me?" He repeated himself since I didn't answer him the first tine he asked the question. "You guys have been acting so weird lately" he squinted which meant only one thing. He was getting very impatient and that wasn't the type of Chris that was as nice as normal. That's the ruthless Chris, killer Chris, The deadly Chris.
"What you think I haven't noticed?" He was now taking slow paces around Hyunjin and I. "The long stares, the times you disappeared together" Chris looked at me as if he was absolutely disgusted with me. "You’re cheating on me with Hyunjin, huh?" He seemed so sure if it, he said ur so matter of factly to the point where it was more of a statement and less of a question.
"N-no" I stuttered even though it wasn’t the truth I still was absolutely terrified. "I should blow the both of your fucking brains out right fucking now" he pulled out his gun and put it to my head.
I knew he hated me right now but there was absolutely no one who hated me as much as I did at this very moment. " I would never cheat on you Chris, ever! I love you.. look you don't have to believe shoot me I don't fucking care anymore" Now it was my eyes that were watery but not from sadness but from anger.
I couldn't believe that he even thought about killing me especially over Hyunjin who tried to kiss me and confessed his love to me, the boy that was going to disrespect him by telling him that he was in love with the love of his life. He just kept the gun to my head for a moment until he finally put it down.
"The first day of school I knew you had fallen for him before you even knew... The way you looked at him I could only hoped you looked at me like that. That's why I told you to stay away not because we're dangerous but because while you were gushing over him you didn't realize that I fell for you the moment I saw you, just like you did Hyunjin, and just like Hyunjin did you" Chris was now crying and I realized my worst nightmare came true.
Chris then shook his head in such disappointment " when we started dating I thought I might actually have a chance but I was wrong from trying to force a love that was never there to begin with" I had never seen Chris so broken. "Chris I promise I'm absolutely in love with you" At this point I had broken down I was sobbing and trying to form a proper sentence. " But are you in love with Hyunjin?" All of us in this room knew the answer. I just didn't want to say it out loud but I knew.
"Exactly" Chris seemed do disappointed, so heart broken. I felt like such a monster. "Hyunjin I fucking trusted you" Chris spat at Hyunjin now regaining that same look of disgust he had earlier. "The boys and I are a family but I have no idea what to call you now" Christopher looks Hyunjin up and down. "Kinley were done" the red and puffy eyed , blonde haired boy stormed off slamming the door behind him.
"Get out Hyunjin I need to think" I wanted to be alone, I hated myself and I hated Hyunjin. He hugged me and told me everything was gonna be ok, ignoring my request.
I needed to get Chris back and show him that I did love him and did want to be with him. I can't have both.

I say No 55
HOURMAN AND DR MIT NITE Reunite after she is Rescued with Dr McNider ofcours during battle and Rick just cant wait until after the battle .He even Stars By her side the whole time
I hope thats ok
Okay. Firstly, I'm going to answer your closing concern of "I hope that's ok." The short answer is no. No, that's not okay, Love. Please remember that whenever you send these prompts into others, this is a request for free labor and we're merely asking you to select from the list so that we can freely practice our craft. It's not a custom order.
Furthermore, this may or may not be something that I might write, but I would doubtfully write it in this way. So, I will take your prompt #55 and write something of my own for this particular prompt, and hopefully you can find content that writes the very specific prompt that you're eager to see. 🙂
"I missed you... a lot."
"I missed you" is something that can be so personal. So deep and connected, with the right person, and yet can be so empty and shallow from the wrong one.
Rick wasn't always great with words. That being understood, his loved ones knew that when he said something, he meant it. Maybe not some of his pep talks, that were more to support you than emote for himself, but things like, "I'm sorry." "I understand." "I love you." "I care." "I'm here." Things like, "I miss you." Those would never be an exaggeration, and you'd do well to appreciate that they weren't common.
Beth always knew. Sometimes, he didn't have to even say the thing, but she was the type to be clear, so he would, just so she knew that he was serious and willing to do what it took. They weren't together the entire time.
They took a break, when Beth entered a work-school program at an elite institution, and decided that Rick shouldn't come along with her.
Rick looked like his next step would be to punch down another tree. There was no light in his features and he didn't feel any of the warmth that he generally associated with her. That was all because his heart was breaking.
His first response to this blatant and gross betrayal, this abandonment that she had promised would NEVER happen was anger. He didn't express it. She could just tell.
"Rick, you know that it's best for both of us right now, right?" He grimaced. "Maybe not best, but it's the most sensible way for us to both do what we need to do and not have to…"
"What? Not have to WHAT, Beth? Because the last time I checked, there was NOTHING that we weren't willing to do for each other! And now, what? You don't want to have to put up with me and my issues?" He clenched his fist and she started crying.
Rick shook his head and pulled her to himself, "I'm sorry." She sobbed into his jacket. "This is why, isn't it? It's because I'm like this.."
"It's because it's what's best right now…"
"For you. Because I keep fucking up."
She cupped his face, "I want you to have everything that you deserve, Rick Tyler, and you deserve so much more than this world has given you… more than I'm able to give right now. I have to focus on my studies and I don't want you to follow me. I don't believe that I will be available as needed and I think that pretending to would make it harder on both of us and it would be disingenuous of me.." she whimpered, "I still love you."
That hurt him more, but nothing that she said was irrational or untrue and he couldn't force her not to break up with him if it was. "I understand." He said, miserably sad. He wanted to simply die. He didn't want to think about returning to a life after being left behind again, by her this time.
.
He made it alright. They did different hero stints in different groups and stuff, him mostly with the JSA, her with other teams and heroes. It scared him, to think about her out there, not having him to have her back. Sure, she had teammates, but did any of them care about her like he had? Did she have new best friends? A new lover? Was there somebody right now, warming her bed and being her shield in a fight?
The call was late and unfortunately, some guy answered. "Umm… sorry to call so late. Is Beth available?"
"She's working on something pretty important.."
"Okay. Yeah. Of course. I'm, if you could tell her Rick called…"
"Rick.." the person said, "Will she need anything else or just Rick?"
"Rick?" He heard her say in the background and the man was going to relay the message, but she wound up with the phone, "Rick? What's happening? Is everything ok? Do you need me?"
His heart wasn't prepared for this. He wanted to say yes. Of course he needed her. He loved her. He always would need her. "I'm sorry. I just was thinking about you…" there was a long pause and a relieved sigh. Then she said something to someone in the background. "I didn't mean to scare you," he attempted, "I was having some kind of anxiety. I guess I just… regressed to needing to talk to you."
"I'm the regression, huh?" She teased, then chuckled. "It's okay. But, why did you call this line? Did you delete my cell or something?"
"I…" he glanced at his own phone and plain as day it said Beth WORK. "Must've hit the wrong entry."
"Okay. Well, if you need to talk longer, call me on my cell, okay?"
"No.. it's fine. I'll let you go."
"Okay…" another pause, "you'd still tell me if you needed something, right?"
"I'd." He bit his lip and was grateful that she wasn't there to see his face. She would know that he just wanted her so badly. "I'd try." She sighed. He grabbed the bridge of his nose, "I love you."
"Rick... I have to go." And she hung up. A moment later she sent a text: I love you too. Please take care of yourself. 🙏🏾
.
Rick walked into the JSA headquarters and was startled to see Hootie there. Why would Hootie be here? "Court?" He called and only then realized that some conversation died down. He went towards the silence and saw The Green Lantern, speaking with Courtney and Yolanda. "Jennie! What's good?"
"It's not good," Courtney said, sadly. Rick looked worried and it only intensified when Yolanda took his hand.
"What is it?"
Jennie cut to the chase. "It's Beth." Rick nearly collapsed JUST from that much. "She's alive, but… she's been injured very badly and she's unconscious and.."
"Where is she?" He asked.
"I can bring you. Just you. I know everyone cares about her, but Rick is the only person listed for this type of… situation."
"WHAT TYPE OF SITUATION IS IT?" Rick asked, on the verge of tears.
"Life or death. We have to leave immediately."
"Yeah, we do!" Rick said. Yolanda and Courtney tried hugging him but he really didn't want to be touched. He couldn't handle that.
.
She looked so frail in the hospital bed. Her head and face were wrapped up, almost completely. Her nose and mouth though… while not seemingly damaged, were the only thing that seemed not to be with those wraps.
Her current team was already preparing the cover story for her death. Her death? She wasn't going to die. She couldn't die. Please, don't die, Beth. I couldn't take it. He couldn't find any words on his tongue. "I care…" was all he could mutter and he held her hand, lifeless and soft.
Some of her current teammates talked to him, trying to explain what happened and what may happen next. He couldn't really take in everything. Unless Beth got up, there was no "next" happening. He would be here until she got better or until she left forever. "I'm here." He kissed her hand.
They could use his help on a mission. Without Beth's fighting skills, they were disadvantaged. He shook his head. He'd have liked to apologize and explain that there was no way that he left Beth and risk her not being there when he returned. Still speechless. For days. For weeks. "I miss you," he pleaded. Please, wake up.
Her hand began to move and he called for help. Hopefully, he wasn't losing it. Doctors came in, he was moved aside while they checked things. He was overwhelmed, but refused to step out.
After a while, she had been unwrapped and helped to sit up. It was a lot to process. She been blasted with a ray, and knocked unconscious from a head injury. She could have been paralyzed. They were shocked that she wasn't… but she was blind.
Sure, she still had her goggles, but it was… going to be quite a life change, and she still had healing to do. "You're not alone," she heard Rick say and she gasped and reflexively turned in his direction. She absolutely couldn't see him, but he made his way to her side, and her hands found his.
"I missed you… a lot," Beth said.
"Here I am." And she wasn't going to get rid of him.
"I can never see your face again," she said in the softest voice ever, hoarse from her down time. "I mean.. not like it is.. not like I remember it.."
He took her hands and placed them on his face, "You'll learn it. I'm never letting you go that far away from me again."
"I'm not your responsibility."
"You never were my responsibility. I should have been clearer. I never felt obligated to protect you or forced to defend you. It was always out of love."
"That hasn't changed?"
"Kidding? I would have hitchhiked here, if I had to just to sit at your side for all of these weeks."
"I don't know what to say…"
"Do… do you still love me?"
"As much as I did the first time I told you."
"We don't have to say anything else, for now."

Pt.15 "Torture Abroad"
CW: creepy/intimate whumper, divorce mention, parent death mention, drugs/alcohol mention, foster care, beach setting, noncon/dubcon (explicit, 18+), general NSFW and sexual themes/language, broken bone mention, stockholm syndrome-type themes, self injury mention, bat used as a weapon, injury/gore (explicit), knife mention, taser mention, bondage/chains, torture with a bunch of different weapons, bystander watching torture, hallucinations, fire mention, panic attack, tics/tourettes (let me know if I missed anything!!)
"You're going to love it here," August was saying, one of his hands wrapped lazily around the wheel and the other placed on Elias's thigh, "I'm gonna show you so many beautiful places."
Elias was looking out the window at all the deep green trees and lush scenery, in utter disbelief that he was actually here. "You're really from here?"
"Yeah, after my parents got divorced my mom took me to America. I come back all the time though." He turned and smiled at Elias, squeezing his thigh gently. "Beautiful, isn't it? I'll have to teach you some French."
Elias nodded in agreement at the suggestion. "I cannot believe I'm in France." With literal Satan, he thought, then shifted in his seat uncomfortably. The car was nice, a deep red that Elias thought fit August well enough. It was something fancy and foreign, and August had laughed at his surprised face when he walked right up to it in the parking garage of the airport. At first, Elias thought he was going to steal it, but then August had the keys in his hand and inside of the car was a wallet that had one of his older licenses in it. Elias noticed that he drove it with ease, like it was where he belonged, behind the expensive leather wheel, driving much quicker than he probably should be on the winding roads. For a moment, he found himself thinking about how attractive it was, and the realization made him incredibly ashamed in himself, so embarrassed and disgusted that he felt physically sick at it.
They drove for awhile longer, then they arrived at a huge house on the side of a hill, overlooking a beach. When Elias stepped out of the car the chill breeze swept through his clothes and hair, and he took a deep breath. It was beautiful, and he guessed that if he had to be anywhere with August, it may as well be here.
He jumped as August grabbed him from behind, looping his arms around his waist and pulling him close. He placed gentle kisses against his neck, humming with content. "I'm so happy you're here, angel."
Elias sighed and tipped his head back against August's shoulder. "It's so pretty," he breathed, "just... breathtaking."
August chuckled and pulled off of him. "Come on, we'll go sight seeing later," he teased, taking his hand and pulling him down the drive to the house.
It was even more beautiful on the inside; there were large, open windows that the sunlight danced through and soaked over everything it landed on, intricate designs carved and painted on the ceiling and walls, and huge, exquisite paintings that were probably more expensive than everything Elias owned combined.
"This is your house?" He asked August, who was already making himself busy opening a bottle of wine in the kitchen. Elias could see from his spot in the middle of the living room that the kitchen was just as glamorous.
"It was my father's, yeah. He left it to my sister and I after he died. Maybe you'll get to meet her, if she comes around." His voice was lightly conversational, like he was talking about the weather and not his dead dad, but really Elias would have been more surprised if he'd let any emotion into the sentence.
Elias took the wine glass as it was handed to him, looking down at the dark red with his lip caught in his teeth. He couldn't help but chuckle softly, cueing August to frown at him. "What is it?" He asked.
"It's just... I dunno, my whole life I was just tossed around foster homes and group homes and this...this is something I never would have thought would happen." He laughed again, shaking his head. "I mean, I'm drinking wine in France. It's just weird."
August nodded his head, looking thoughtful before finally saying, "I didn't know you were a foster kid."
Elias shook his head, instantly wanting to change the subject. August had seen him crying, begging, screaming, bleeding, August had seen him dead, but talking about his past with him seemed way more vulnerable than all of that. He didn't want August to know about his selfish parents who decided that they loved drugs more than they loved their twitchy son, he didn't want him to know that Elias didn't have any friends until he was in high school because he moved foster homes and schools faster than he could blink, he really didn't want him to know about the way he used to stay up late trying to find his parents online so he could try and contact them, try to convince them to take him back, and cry when he couldn't find them. August had control over him in so many ways, and Elias was going to make sure that touchy, personal information was kept that way. August would never know him that intimately, if he could help it.
He tasted the wine, trying to stay in the moment. He focused on the lush fruitiness of the drink instead of the looming fear of being alone with August. He focused on the way the light illuminated some of the dust floating around the room instead of the despair he felt about being away from Tyson.
"Do you wanna walk down to the beach?" August asked him, stepping closer to him as he spoke. "It'll be dark soon, we can watch the sun set."
Elias smiled at him, drinking some more wine. He wished it was something stronger, being sober around August was just so unbearably frightening. "I never would've pegged you as a romantic," he chuckled, "this wine must be strong, huh?"
August shook his head, taking Elias's wine glass from him and setting them both down on the side table next to the couch. "I've just been too stressed out to be romantic." He looked Elias up and down with a grin, then scooped him up into his arms, laughing at the astonished squeal he let out.
He carried him out of the house and down a short walkway to the beach, setting him gently in the sand once they were close to the water. After Elias straightened himself out, he stared up at August with wide eyes. He looked like he was waiting for something, expecting something, and when August took his hand in his own he flinched a little.
"Why do you look so bothered, bunny?" He asked, stepping closer and running his thumb over the back of his hand. He knew, just from touching it, that this was his injured hand, the one he'd broken with a hammer. The tendons and bones hadn't healed right, they felt mangled and torn up when he pressed against them. The way Elias's face twitched at the reawakened pain was absolutely mouthwatering, August tried to imagine the noises he would make if he very slowly broke it all over again.
Elias plastered on a strained smile, looking out toward the waves wistfully. "I'm not used to you being so gentle with me. Trying to uh...to not let myself get so wrapped up in it."
August sighed at the words, trailing his fingers over Elias's cheek, leaning over and kissing him softly. "You're so smart," he cooed, "but don't worry you're pretty self too much, I'll be careful. You're more fragile than I thought."
A trembling breath shook Elias's shoulders, but he knew that if he allowed himself to cry he would be in trouble. So, he pressed himself flush against August and kissed him hard, desperate for something to numb him. He hadn't finished his wine, he hadn't had any drugs in who knows how long, and the only other thing he knew would distract him from the fear for a moment was...handing himself over to the very thing causing it.
At one point they ended up down in the sand, clothes tossed aside carelessly. Elias forgot how great sex could be, when he wasn't being choked or beaten or butchered. He was waiting for August to turn on him any second, for his tender touches to turn to harsh, aggressive punches, or his sweet words to twist into hateful insults. It would happen any second, it was a miracle it hadn't already. He couldn't even believe how much August seemed to be enjoying it so far, Elias wasn't bloody or bruised up or even crying yet.
"Ah, my angel," August hummed, his lips against Elias's neck, "oh God you feel so good."
Elias gasped, arching his back against the sand. He clutched at August's arm hard, whimpering softly. He was baffled when August began to jerk him off; he hardly ever touched him like that towards the end, before things got messy, instead trying to fuck him until he came, until he was shaking and in tears, begging for help, for friction, for something. He moaned out at the touch, writhing just a little underneath him.
"Ah, fuck, August," he breathed, "jesus christ!" August pressed closer against him, kissing gently at his throat, moaning against his skin.
Once August finished, he pulled off of him, and Elias thought that was it. Yet again, left bothered and unfinished. He sighed and tipped his head back, trying to steady himself. It was ok this way, he had gotten through it without any new bruises or cuts, he wasn't hurt, he could deal with blue balls. But then, August was kissing down his torso, over his hips, on the insides of his thighs. When he started to suck him off, Elias whined loudly and reached down to tangle his fingers in his hair. He could feel August's hands holding him steady, those strong, rough hands that were hovering on the edge of being gentle and inflicting pain on him. It would happen any second now, this time Elias was sure, with how his fingers were tight around his hips.
"Au-August!" He moaned, writhing underneath his grip. He hated hearing himself moaning that name, hated that he was receiving pleasure from someone who he wanted to hate so badly, someone who had hurt him and the people he cared about. Once again, he was repulsed by himself, and he would have pushed August off of him if he wasn't right about to-
He gasped sharply as he came, shaking in August's hands. His breathing was labored as he relaxed, looking up at August as he crawled back on top of him. He felt tears in his eyes, that heavy guilt and disgust in himself weighing him down, pressing him into the sand harder than August was. August took his face in his hands, running his thumb over his cheek gently.
"You're so beautiful, bunny," he hummed, "I missed having you all to myself."
Elias frowned, turning his head to the side so he didn't have to look at him anymore. "It's so weird without you." His voice was faraway, and when August pulled away from him he sat up. "No one understood. I was just fucking up all the time and no one would punish me and I just felt...I felt..." He trailed off, shaking his head. What was it that he felt? He was glad to be away from August when he was, right? So what else could he have been feeling besides relief? Why, when he was looking back on it now, did it all seem so shitty and hopeless?
August sighed, petting his hair gently. "That sounds hard, angel. I hate thinking of you all alone, so lost."
"I had to hurt myself," Elias whispered, "no one else would so I had to do it myself."
August fell silent, then he pulled away and looked at Elias for a long time. The look on his face was undecipherable, Elias couldn't tell if he was disappointed or delighted at what he told him, and he only grew more confused when he let out a short laugh and stood up.
"Come on, little one. Get your clothes on." As he spoke, he pulled his own sand covered pants back on, and Elias got up and did the same. August took his hand and led him back up to the house, now eerily silent.
Once they were inside, August sat Elias down on the couch, wordlessly walking down the hallway. Elias was overwhelmed by his sudden quietness, August always had something to say about everything, and Elias hated not knowing what he was thinking about. It was the same as when Elias told him what happened to his face in the car, the deafening silence that made him feel like any minute August would flip out and just start screaming. As he waited for August to come back and do just that, he grabbed the glass of wine that was taken from him earlier and downed the rest of it.
"Come here, Eli!" August was suddenly calling. Elias stood up with a groan, shuffling down the long hallway. He peered into the rooms he walked past, frowning when he didn't see August in any of them.
"Where are you?" He heard the sound of floorboards creaking distantly, but the all the rooms were too big to really distinguish where the noise came from. When he thought he heard some shuffling in one of the rooms, he ducked into it and looked around, sighing when he was met with silence and an empty room. "August?" He whined.
He cried out when something solid slammed into the back of legs, making him crumple to the ground with a thud. He turned to see August standing over him, a wooden bat swinging carelessly in his hand. Elias scrambled away from him, eyes huge and already full of tears.
"Wh-what are you doing?!" He cried. August stayed silent still, and Elias grew even more panicked as he got closer. He just wanted August to say something, anything at all, so that at least he wasn't as confused. The bat swung again, this time cracking against his shoulder. Elias screamed in pain as he hit the floor, his body lit up in a blinding ache. August dropped the bat soon after, then yanked Elias up to his feet.
When Elias couldn't stand and collapsed against him with a sob, August merely grabbed a fist full of his hair and forced him to stand straight. He couldn't stifle his sobs, they weren't even his own at this point, his pain and fear were ripping them out of him violently. "Ple-please stop!" His legs were weak and battered, but every time he wobbled and nearly fell again, August's hand tightened and twisted harshly in his hair and he forced himself to straighten out again.
August dragged him out of the bedroom and down the hallway, not waiting for him when he stumbled and tripped. As they approached a flight of stairs, Elias's panic grew further. He couldn't even walk right as it was, how was he supposed to conquer stairs?
As it turned out, though, he didn't have to try to wobble down them, because once they got to the top, August unceremoniously shoved him down the hard steps.
He landed hard at the bottom, breathless and dazed from the pain. He choked on broken gasps, his chest tight from not being able to breathe. When he heard August's steps coming down the stairs he let out a hushed whine of fear.
"That looked painful," he remarked, crouching down to inspect his face, "I thought you'd catch yourself."
Elias finally gasped in a breath, groaning in between coughs. August hoisted him up again, giving him more support since he really couldn't stand on his own this time. "Ah fuck," he sniffled, dropping his head toward his chest, "ow..."
After a few more steps, Elias's arm was yanked up above his head, earning an agonized howl. He felt cold metal wrapping around his wrist, snapping shut. When he looked up, his arm was raised above his head by a chain bolted into the ceiling. As he stared at it in horror, August secured his other arm as well, then let go of him completely.
Elias's shoulders and wrists were screaming, he couldn't stand on his own, and without August he was left drooped over, dangling by the chains. He began to rethink everything that happened before that moment, trying to figure out what he did wrong to warrant this painful and humiliating punishment. Had he spoken out of turn? Was it because of his behavior on the plane? Or because he had almost refused to come with August? He started to cry again, quiet whimpers now in replacement of his loud, panicked sobs from moments ago. When he ticced, a whole new pain coursed through his body.
"I'm s-so fucking sor...sorry!" He choked out, looking up at August as he cried. "Please August, please, I'm sorry!"
August grinned at him, at his desperate begging, at how ruined he looked, slumped over under the chains. "You're so gorgeous, Eli," he praised, turning away from him and beginning to dig through a bag against the wall. He pulled out a large camera, and Elias let out another hopeless sob. "You're so much prettier than Allen, you know that?" Elias didn't know why he would say that, he didn't care about Allen or how pretty Allen was or which one of them August liked more, he couldn't care about anything stupid like that, not when his world was painted bright red with suffering. He snapped a picture, and Elias flinched at the flash, just as he always did. "Stay still, bunny."
Elias did as he was told, hoping if he pleased August enough he could be let down. The flash went off a few more times, and as August lowered the camera, Elias collapsed in on himself with a quiet, agonized whimper. "Please Aug-August, it hu-hurts so bad..."
August began to dig through his bag again, and Elias screwed his eyes shut, trying to breathe through the pain. His shoulder, the one that took the blow from the bat, was on fire now, his fingertips numb. When he felt August's palm against his waist, he relaxed a fraction. It was over, he told himself, August was going to let him down and comfort him now. But then something cold was pressed against his ribcage, and just as he opened his eyes to see what it was, a burning pain jolted through his entire body. He convulsed at the shock, his teeth hurting from how hard he bit down. It seemed to last for hours, and when it finally stopped he collapsed further, now exhausted and in an insurmountable degree of pain. It couldn't get worse than this, and if it did Elias thought he just might die.
"Oh, you're so quiet now, little one," August sighed, grabbing his face and forcing him to look up. Elias caught sight of a small handheld taser in his other hand. "Doesn't it hurt?"
Elias sobbed, nodding feebly. "No m-more."
August smiled at him, then tased him once again. This time, Elias let out a guttural, agonized scream, writhing against the chains. This time it went on for so long that when it stopped, Elias passed out, only held up by the chains. When he came to, he looked up at August with tear stained cheeks and hopeless eyes. He wasn't begging anymore, couldn't get the words out, but the look on his face was just as good. August could have stared at him for hours, for days, if he kept making that face. He would give up food and water and oxygen and sunlight if it meant he could stay down here in the basement with Elias and just look at him forever, observe every inch of his body and how it reacted to the pain, memorize all the different ways he could scream and beg, taste his tears and see if there was a difference in the ones from torture and fear. He wanted to know Elias, inside and out, in all the most vulnerable ways, in ways that no human should ever know another.
But he couldn't do that, he had plans. That would have to wait. And besides, they had all the time in the world now, with no one knowing where to look for them.
"I've gotta run to the store, ok?" He said, his voice teasing. "You wait here and be good, and I'll let you out when I get back." He ruffled Elias's hair, watching his face sink further into despair.
"No, please! God please let me down it hurts!" He tugged against the chains, panic ripping through every muscle as he thrashed against his restraints. It was useless, August was already walking away, ignoring his pleading.
It felt like he was gone for hours, and Elias had a headache from the stress and how much he was crying. He was so exhausted, the pain was so intense he couldn't think straight, it was all a jumbled mess blurred together by the delirium of his injuries. Every now and then he forgot where he was, had to lift up his head, which felt like it was made of lead, and then remind himself that he had somehow found himself in a basement in France. Of course it would end up like this for him. Of course he would finally leave the country and go somewhere nice just to end up chained up in a basement.
When he finally heard footsteps on the stairs, he began tugging at the chains again, eager to get out before he even saw August. He didn't notice the other voice until August was at the bottom of the steps, a stranger at his side. Elias froze in confusion for a moment, then the insane aching all over his body pushed past that and he pulled at the chains again.
"August p-p-please let me down please I can't ta-take it anymore!" His gut twisted when August and the man laughed at him, and he had to try really, really hard to not start crying again.
"You look tired, angel," August teased, then turned to the other man, "je pense qu'il très fatigue." (I think he's really tired.)
The man nodded along with him, looking him up and down in curiosity. "Oui, mais il est beaux. Oh, regarde sa précieuse petite tête." (Yes, but he is beautiful. Oh, look at his precious little head.)
Elias let out an agitated sob, going weak at the hopelessness. He didn't know what they were saying, just that they sounded like they were talking about an animal they were discussing purchasing. August stepped forward. Elias noticed he smelled like booze, then he noticed his lopsided smile matched the one the man behind him was wearing. They were both drunk, and that meant Elias was undeniably fucked. August ran his hand through Elias's hair, pleased at the broken cries it caused. "Exhaustion looks so good on you, Eli." With that, he turned away and grabbed his bag, the same one he'd been hiding his camera and taser in, the same one Elias had kept wondering what other torture devices where hidden in while August was gone, prompting Elias to scream again.
"No! No more, please, please August!"
His begging was futile, August closed in on him quickly with a huge butcher knife, sliding it teasingly against Elias's chest before actually using it. When he started slicing into him, it seemed rather reckless and Elias was horrified he was going to do something irreversible to him. After he got bored of the knife, he sauntered back to the bag to look for another instrument.
Elias was covered in blood already, and he realized that his legs were completely useless by now, the chains in the ceiling were the only reason he was upright. He heard August say something in French again, and when he looked up to try and be as much apart of their conversation as he could, he saw that the stranger he had brought down with him had his phone held up, recording all of it with a satisfied grin on his face.
August used a belt, next, causing Elias to positively shriek in pain every time it made harsh contact with his already cut up body. Every now and then, he would stop what he was doing and step close to Elias, whispering so that only he could hear him, saying "you're so perfect like this, my love," or "you have no idea what it does to me when you scream like that, bunny" and it made Elias want to throw up.
He must've used everything in his bag on Elias. He'd hit him with the belt, cut him with a knife, shocked him, beat him with brass knuckles, burned him with a torch, and those were only the ones that Elias was present enough to understand what was being done to him. After all of that, he got lost in the waves of pain and the sounds of his own screams and begs, and then he was unaware of whatever tool August was using to cause it all.
They left the room without a word, or maybe they did say something and he was just too drunk on the pain to notice, when they were done, leaving Elias alone and trembling and lightheaded. His body felt fuzzy and disconnected from him, but the pain was still all too real, too intense. A flash of light caught his eye from the side, and it was nearly impossible to lift his head enough to see what it was. His vision was swimming at the movement, it made him instantly nauseous, and he had to squint really hard to be able to see clearly. When he was able to focus, he was even more confused. Was it...a fire? As soon as the thought crossed his mind, the tiny flame started to grow bigger, slithering up the wall on the other side of the basement. Elias wasn't sure of the when or why or how the fire started, all he knew was that it was getting bigger so fast and he was chained up and couldn't move and he was going to be burned alive.
"August!" He tried to scream, his voice so strained and broken up that it was hardly audible. He doubted that August heard him, and then he was even more horrified. The fire was getting closer and he couldn't even call for help, there was nothing he could do. Then he wondered if August had done this on purpose. It made sense, he had chained him up and hurt him so bad that he couldn't move even if he wasn't chained up, made him scream so loud that no one could hear his cries for help, then he lit a fire so he could kill him. It was a well orchestrated plan, Elias had to give him that, and he never even saw it coming.
What he did see coming, though, was the fire, now climbing up the ceiling and creeping across the floor toward him. As much as he could in his broken state, he scrambled back toward the wall, the chains rattling uselessly above him. He was going to die, he was going to die and there was no saving him this time.
He was surprised when he heard himself scream another time, he must've been so scared he forced his shredded vocal chords to work for a moment. "August please help me!!" He shrieked, closing his eyes tight so he wouldn't see the flames that would engulf him any second.
When he felt hands on him, he let out a measly, horrified squeak, cowering away from it, thinking it was the flames he was so horrified of. "Elias what is wrong with you? Why are you screaming?" That was August, talking to him now. But why was August here if he was trying to kill him? And why was he asking him why he was screaming?
When he worked up the courage to open his eyes, the fire was gone, August was standing in front of him. Elias gasped a few times, he didn't realize he'd been holding his breath. "The...August..." He sobbed as August began to take the chains off. "There was a f-fire. A hu...huge fire, in the corner." He collapsed right against August's chest as soon as the chains were off, felt his arms wrap around his ruined body to catch him before he fell right to the floor.
August lowered him to the floor, then pulled away and pushed his hair out of his face to inspect him further. He was frowning as he looked into Elias's panicked eyes. "Oh, you poor thing, you're hallucinating," he spoke like he was talking to a child with scraped knees, "there's no fire, angel. It's all ok, you're ok."
Elias looked around the basement again, there was no fire, no burn marks anywhere. "B...But I saw it." Thanks to the final scream he'd let out, his voice was just barely above a hoarse whisper. "I saw it, August."
August sighed heavily, then he stood and hoisted up and over his shoulder. Elias whimpered at the harsh movement, but he didn't mind the pain so much when he realized that August was taking him back upstairs. He was so relieved when he realized that going upstairs meant that the punishment was over, that he wasn't going to be engulfed by flames or simply left to dangle under the chains all night. It was over, he told himself. He counted to ten, it was over. He was set down gently on the couch, it was over. August was speaking to him, but he wasn't listening because it was over, and that was all that mattered.

5+1 - Five times Buddie tried to confess their newfound romantic feelings to each other and the one time someone else did it for them?
thank you for the idea! Hope you like it.
1.
Buck took a deep breath as he looked at Eddie and Chris. These nights always cemented the fact that he’s not only in love with Eddie, but this is what he wants everyday for the rest of his life just the three of them, and maybe some more kids at some point.
Eddie is his perfect match. He really never expected to find someone and really never thought it would be a man, but he doesn’t care he just wants Eddie. Tonight’s the night, once Chris goes to bed he’s gonna rip off the bandaid...tell Eddie the truth.
Buck waited in anticipation as Eddie finished tucking Chris in. His heart was pounding, his breathing was erratic and he couldn’t sit still.
“You ok?” Eddie smiled
“Uh yeah great.”
“You sure.”
“Of course I just wanted to tell you something.”
“Ok.” Eddie said sitting next to Buck.
“Eddie I love...I love game night, but I’m not gonna make it this week...I have plans.” Buck lied, and it was a terrible lie because he definitely did not have plans.
“A date?” Eddie asked and Bucks sure Eddie looks upset.
“No, no date for me. I just I have some laundry and cleaning I need to do and that’s the only free time I’ll have this week.” Buck said. Another lie. The truth has to be easier than this.
“We can do it at your place...game night I mean. Then I can help you.” Eddie said softly.
Damnit there’s no way to say no. No way to turn down Eddie and Chris time.
“You’d do that for me.”
“Buck I’d do anything for you.” Eddie said placing his hand on Bucks thigh.
“Ok. Game night at my place.”
2.
Eddie was nervous. Bucks coming over, but only Buck and him will be there. Chris is at a sleepover and most nights it’s just the three of them, which is actually how Eddie prefers it. This isn’t the first time he’s been in love. After Shannon he wasn’t sure how to move on and when he dated Ana he liked her, but something was off. He figured out later it was the skateboard incident and how she reacted vs how Buck reacted. That’s when he knew for sure Buck was the one.
“Hey.” Eddie smiled as Buck walked through the door.
“Hey.” Buck yawned.
“Sorry I’m so boring.” Eddie teased.
“Nah. Just tired Albert and Veronica are...really loud.”
“Why don’t they just stay at her place.”
“Oh they do.” Buck rolled his eyes.
Eddie sat next to Buck making sure he wasn’t too close, even though they’re usually so close their bodies are pressed together, but he knows if he’s too close he’ll lose his nerve.
“I uh need to use the bathroom.” Eddie said excusing himself.
You can do this. It’s not a big deal. Just say it “Buck I wanna be more than friends.” No not that “Buck I like you.” Well it’s more than like but the L word might scare Buck, even though Eddie knows he loves him. “Buck you’re hot as fuck.” Nope nope nope not that one. That sounds purely sexual, and as much as Eddie is sexually attracted to Buck that’s not all there is. It’s really all the small things about Buck and his personality that drew Eddie in. Ok straight forward. “I have romantic feelings for you.” Maybe that works. No speak from the heart.
Eddie walked out of the bathroom not confident in what he’d say, but confident it’s time to tell Buck....who is passed out asleep on the couch.
“I can wake up.” Buck yawned.
“No. I’ll get you a blanket. Lay down and get some rest.”
Buck obeyed and Eddie covered him placing a small kiss on Bucks temple. Buck didn’t seem to notice, but that’s ok it’s not their time yet.
3.
Buck looked at Eddie from across the station and sighed. Why was it so difficult telling him. Ok he knows why because it could potentially ruin the best friendship he’s ever had, but most people think of their spouse as their best friend right? So maybe that’s why their friendship is unlike any other he’s ever had because they belong together.
There’s 5 hours of the shift left, but a wave of confidence hit Buck. He strutted over to Eddie who smiled.
“What’s up?” Eddie grinned.
“Can we talk?”
“Everything alright?”
“Yeah I uh just need to say this.” Buck said before the bell went off.
Saved by the bell...more like blocked by the bell. Buck sighed.
“We can talk later.” Eddie nodded.
Later...later will there be any confidence left?
After returning to the station Eddie stopped Buck.
“Do you wanna continue our conversation? It seemed important.”
“Eddie I...can’t remember.” Buck hated that he said that he wanted to just blurt out “I love you” but that might scare Eddie off, and that confidence from earlier had fizzled out. Today is so not the day.
4.
Today was gonna be the day...again. Buck was coming over to make dinner. Chris had a last minute sleepover invite. Which Eddie was happy his son was so excited, and happy for some alone time with Buck, but it was scary.
Buck showed up in a tight blue shirt not only making his eyes pop but accentuating his muscles. Eddie felt guilty ogling his best friend, but when Buck looks this good it s hard not to.
“You ok?” Buck asked as he began to cook.
Eddie sat on the counter near by.
“Yeah I just. Do you ever have something you think you need to say, but you don’t know what will happen. Like it could ruin something great, but if you say it then the thing you already have could be even greater.” Eddie sighed.
“I guess I don’t know for sure, but I feel like you just go on your instincts. Do what you think is best. Trust your gut....I mean obviously You have no gut just rock hard abs, but you get it. Does that help?”
“ I think.” Eddie but his lip.
“Do you wanna talk about it? See if I can help?”
Yes. Of course we really need to talk about it.
“Uh no...it’s nothing big.” Eddie lied.
“Well I’m here anytime...really even if you ever need to call late at night to talk you can. Don’t worry if I’m asleep or not. I’ll be here...always.”
Eddie felt like his heart was doing somersaults. Buck is so perfect and caring...it’s really Bucks fault he fell in love with him. If Buck wasn’t such an amazing person, and it was just sexual attraction rather than love and sexual attraction this would a lot easier.
Ok no more hiding.
“Buck.”
“Yeah?” Buck said with a smile that melts Eddies heart.
“I-” Eddie said before Buck cut him off.
“Sorry hold that thought I don’t want the food to burn.”
Buck returned shorty with two plates piled high full of delicious food.
“Ok so what were we talking about?” Buck asked in a serious tone.
“I was just telling you how much I appreciate you cooking for me.”
“Anytime.” Buck smiled.
And another failed attempt. Bucks totally worth it. Eddie wants to tell him, but the thought of potentially messing up their friendship is what makes it so scary. Every time he tries to tell him it’s like something always gets in his way. Is this fates way of telling him not to say anything?
5.
Buck looked across the bar as he saw a woman practically throwing herself at Eddie....ok she was just talking, but still it made Buck feel an overwhelming wave of jealousy. A shitty bar isn’t really the place to confess your undying love, but now he feels like he has to.
Buck plopped on the chair next to Eddie. He knew it was weird l, but when he got there the words didn’t wanna come out. Not in a way that would make any sense.
“Hey Buck wanna help me carry the drinks back to our table?” Eddie smiled.
“Uh yeah.”
“So Uh why didn’t you keep talking to her. She’s pretty and seemed into you.”
“She’s not my type.”
“What is your type.”
“It’s not that I really have a type its more a feeing....I can usually tell pretty quick by the way I feel around that person, and I wasn’t feeling it.”
So if Eddie can feel it quickly, but hasn’t said anything yet then maybe that means he’s not into Buck. He has no feelings for him. It’s unreciprocated and the pain in his chest is unbearable he almost feels like he’s at the point where he wants to cry, but he’s in so much pain he can’t.
“Buck you ok?” Eddie asked.
The words echoed through Bucks mind.
“I’m not feeling so well maybe I should go.”
“I’ll drive you home I haven’t had anything to drink yet.”
“Uh no I’ll call an Uber.” Buck said. He wanted Eddie to take him home, but maybe once he’s not around Eddie the pain will lessen.
+1.
Hen and Karen were having everyone other for a game night. Although they had ulterior motives. Everyone was sick and tired of Buck and Eddies shit. They were either pining, moping, or gazing longingly at each other all the time.
Hen was very aware of both of their feelings considering they both confided in her. They both admitted how they keep trying to tell each other, but something kept holding them back. She wanted to say you love him he loves you now be together, but it’s not her place to be so straight forward. She tried and tried to encourage them to just be honest, but they were both too stubborn.
“Buck, Eddie can you grab the folding table out of my bedroom closet?” Hen asked earning a glare from both men.
As soon as they both entered the room hen shut the door and then pushed a chest in front of it barricading the door.
“You two need to talk...about what you keep talking to me about. The thing you both want to say. I know you know what I mean. I’ll let you out when you finally talk.” Hen said.
“Hen.” Buck groaned as he jiggled the door knob.
Eddie sat on the bed.
“Fine I’ll say it blurt it out.” Eddie let out a deep breath.
“I love you.” Buck sighed as he approached Eddie. “Like I’m in love with you. I’ve tried and tried to tell you but I can’t seem to ever get the words out.”
“Buck I’ve been trying to tell you the same thing for so long. I didn’t wanna scare you, but I love you and I can’t believe you feel it too.”
Buck practically tackled Eddie pushing him back on the bed straddling and kissing him.
Moments later Hen was knocking on the door.
“You guys good.”
“Yeah we uh talked.” Buck panted.
“Give is a few more minutes...to talk.” Eddie panted.
“Do not have sex in my room.” Hen said pushing the chest out of the way. “You’re free to come out here now.”
“Oh we aren’t gonna have sex here. When we do I wanna hear every sound I can pull from Buck. If we did it hear he might try to muffle those sounds.”
“Walking away now!” Hen said.
“Eddie should we go back to my place.” Buck whispered.
“Isn’t that rushing this a bit?”
“We don’t have to do anything I just wanna be alone with you.” Buck smiled climbing off of Eddie.
“Ok.” Eddie smiled.
When they walked out to the living room everyone applauded .
“Finally!” Maddie laughed.
“Hey uh so we’re gonna go. We kinda need to talk some more.” Eddie said.
“Thanks Hen for forcing us to admit our feelings.” Buck smiled.
“Hey I knew you both felt it you just needed a little push.” Hen smiled.

The Halloween Party
Summary: Reader has lived across the hall from Penelope Garcia for a couple years and considers her to be one of her best friends. That’s the only reason she agreed to go to a Halloween match making party.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader
Warnings: none
Word Count: 2.2k
I wrote this very quickly so it’s not the best, but I couldn’t let Halloween go by without writing something for Reid.
——————
“I still can’t believe I let you talk me into this stupid match making thing,” you grumbled at the blonde currently on your couch.
Penelope Garcia smiled at you over her wine glass. “Well I wanted to go but only if my favorite neighbor did it too.”
“I’m the only neighbor you talk to,” you pointed out. Penelope stuck her tongue out at you and waved her empty glass in the air. You rolled your eyes, but refilled her glass anyway.
You and Penelope had lived in the same building for a few years. When you had seen the brightly dressed woman lugging boxes down the hall, you had offered to help her move everything in. She had intrigued you. You had passed each other in the hall a couple of times after that, but had never really talked until one evening when you heard a knock on your door.
It had puzzled you because you were still pretty new to the area so you didn’t have any friends who would be dropping by unexpectedly. Opening the door, you had found Penelope standing in the hall crying.
“I had a really bad day at work. I just really need someone to talk to,” she had said. You ushered her in and spent the night learning about Penelope’s job as a technical analyst for the BAU. Now whenever Penelope’s team got through with a tough case, she would come collapse on your couch while the two of you drank wine and decompressed.
“You’re also the one who told me to get out there and forget about Kevin,” Penelope countered.
“Yeah well I didn’t think you’d drag me along.”
“It’s not just you! I convinced some of my friends at the BAU to sign up too. Besides, I know you’re excited for the party. You already bought two dresses.” She pointed at the dresses still laying out on your kitchen table. You were trying to decide whether a black dress or white dress would be better for your costume.
“I’m always excited for a Halloween costume party. I just never thought I’d be one of those sad people who signs up for a matchmaking party.”
“Y/N, you are one of the smartest people I know. And I work for the FBI. I know a lot of smart people. The only reason you’re still single is because whenever you get time off from teaching you spend it trying to solve impossible math equations. And I thought you said your match sounded nice.”
You sighed. “Trying to solve an impossible math equation is arguably the most important part of my job. I think the university cares more about that than the courses I teach sometimes. I guess he does seem nice. He’s either very smart or he’s very good at using google to sound smart. Either way, when you look at the data, the likelihood of finding a long term partner through a survey is-“
Penelope groaned. “No! I get enough info dumping at work. Let’s just talk about the party. It’s next weekend and you’re buying clothes for it so I assume you and your partner decided on your costumes. What is it?”
When Penelope had invited you to a Halloween costume party, you had been quick to accept. She then told you that it was a matchmaking party where you had to fill out a survey and were then matched with another attendee. Pairs would have to decide on costumes and then find each other at the party. Until then, pairs wouldn’t know who the other person was. Definitely not your usual definition of fun.
“I’m not telling you,” you teased. Penelope gasped on faux anger before the two of you burst into laughter and decided on a movie to watch.
——————
You stared at your computer screen intently, willing the message to change.
I’ve been out of state for a work trip for the past few days. I didn’t mention it earlier because I was hoping that we would get back in plenty of time. It took a couple more days than we were anticipating though. We’re about to take off, so I’ll make it back in time for the party but I won’t have time to put out on my whole costume. I can just wear the cape or something if you don’t have any better suggestions. I’m looking forward to meeting you tonight.
You chewed your lip thoughtfully before an idea popped into your head. And you began typing back a response.
That’s a shame. I was looking forward to seeing your Masque of the Red Death costume. I have a new idea though. What character refused to wear a costume to a costume ball?
The response came back almost immediately.
And I was looking forward to seeing your Leonore costume. I’m sure that there are a number of characters who fit that description. Would you like a list?
You smiled and rolled your eyes.
It’s another gothic story. He’s throwing the fancy dress party, but he refuses to dress up. His new wife’s costume causes a bit of a stir. Enough clues?
The reply caused you to get up quickly to begin sorting out your new costume.
I’ll see you tonight, Mrs. de Winters.
A few hours later found you ready to leave. You were thankful that you still had the white dress you had previously purchased with the idea of using it for Leonore. You were even more thankful that you still had a wig from a few Halloween’s ago that worked for your costume. So now, with a white dress and curly dark hair, you were ready to leave.
“Ok I give up,” Penelope said when she opened her door. “What are you supposed to be?”
“I’m the narrator from Rebecca,” you told her. “It’s kind of a last minute costume. I’m glad your case wrapped up today. I would be bummed if I had to go without you.”
“Well it’s a good thing it didn’t come to that.” Penelope looped her arm through yours and pulled you down the hallway, the two of you laughing as you went.
——————
Thankfully the room wasn’t too loud when you and Penelope arrived. Jack-o-lanterns and bowls of candy sat on tables around the edge of the room, and bats and ghosts hung from the ceiling. You and Penelope made a circuit around the room, trying to find your matches.
“Maybe ours guys are running late,” Penelope suggested. The two of you had moved to a snack table while you surveyed the sea of costumes around you.
“Or they’re ditching us.” Penelope gave you a playful swat. You were saved from another attack by Penelope’s phone dinging.
“Oh! Some of my friends are here. Come meet them.” Before you could protest, Penelope was dragging you across the room. Two people stood against the wall talking, but broke into smiles and waved when they saw Penelope approaching.
“Y/N, this is Derek and Emily. Guys, this is my neighbor Y/N.”
You smiled and shook hands with the two FBI agents.
“So you’re the famous Y/N,” Derek grinned. “It’s nice to finally meet you.”
“Famous? If anyone is famous it’s Derek “chocolate thunder” Morgan. The way Penelope talks about you, I was imagining a superhero. She wasn’t wrong.”
“I like her,” Derek laughed.
Emily groaned. “He does not need a bigger ego.”
“Where’s Reid?” Penelope asked. “Don’t tell me he bailed.”
“He said he needed to stop by his apartment first. We came straight from the plane. And don’t worry, Hotch and JJ both assured us they would take pictures of the kids in their costumes.” Penelope squealed and clapped her hands excitedly.
You chatted with Penelope and her friends for a few more minutes before Penelope spotted a man wearing a matching costume to hers. She waved bye to your little group and rushed off to meet him, leaving you with the two FBI agents.
“Oh there’s Pretty Boy,” Derek cried.
“I was kind of expecting you to show up in an intricate costume. You love Halloween, Spencer,” Emily said.
You turned to find a handsome man approaching your group. He was wearing a nice suit and had a leather satchel slung over his shoulder.
“No time, unfortunately.” The man shrugged. “I just had to pick up some books from my apartment. Hi. I’m Dr. Spencer Reid. You must be Garcia’s friend.” He turned to you, but didn’t extend a hand. You realized that this must be the young genius Penelope mentioned from time to time.
“Y/N,” you replied. Spencer’s eyes took in your costume carefully. You tried not to shift uncomfortably.
“Are you planning on doing some reading tonight?” Derek asked.
“No. My date and I were discussing a volume of poetry that I have, so I wanted to bring it to show her.”
“What a ladies man,” Emily teased. “How’s she going to know it’s you though? You’re not wearing a costume.”
“Actually, I am.” Spencer smiled slightly at the confused looks on his friends’ faces. What he just said clicked for you suddenly.
“Maxim?” You asked before you could stop yourself.
Spencer blinked at you in surprise before smiling widely. “Mrs. de Winters?”
Emily and Derek looked between of you in slight confusion, but you and Spencer smiled at each other in delight. “We’ll leave you two to it,” Derek teased as he and Emily walked away.
“I’m glad that you’re a friend of Penelope’s and not a complete stranger,” you admitted. “I was a little worried I’d get stuck with some weirdo. Not that you sounded weird when we talked!”
“Well our first conversation was about the statistics of meeting a murderer when online dating. That’s a little weird.” The two of you laughed slightly.
“I’m a math professor, so I’m interested in anything statistics,” you admitted. “I’m kind of a nerd.”
“Same,” Spencer laughed. “You know these last minute costumes were a good idea.”
“I still want to see your Masque of the Red Death costume sometime.”
“Deal, but only if you tell me what you teach.”
You waved your hand. “Oh nothing exciting. Just some upper level math that nobody wants to take. The fun part of my job is trying to solve the Riemann hypothesis.”
“You’re trying to solve one of the Millennium Prize problems?” Spencer asked in surprise.
“I’m surprised you know about it.” Most people you talked to had no idea what the Millennium Prize problems were. You were sure they wondered why a university would tenure you just so you could keep trying to solve a math problem.
“I’ve looked over them before,” Spencer admitted shyly, like he was waiting for you to make fun of him.
“No luck?”
“Way beyond my level.” The two of you laughed slightly. A slower song began to play and couples danced slowly across the dance floor.
“Want to dance?” you suggested. Spencer hesitated and you worried for a second that you had overstepped, but then he smiled and held out his hand.
Neither one of you were very good dancers, but what you lacked in talent you made up for in smiles. You continued to discuss everything from mathematical theory to what working at the FBI was like to classic literature.
“Do you think this is how the Manderley fancy dress party would have gone if Mrs. Danvers hadn’t sabotaged the narrator?” you asked. “They could have been as happy as us dancing.”
Spencer thought for a moment. “I don’t think so. I don’t think they could have been truly happy together with all of the secrets still between them.”
“True,” you agreed. “So you think we’re happy?”
When Spencer smiled at you, your heart fluttered. “I’m pretty happy. This is going a lot better than I expected. Not that I didn’t think you sounded great when we talked online! But Derek said something about you sounding too good to be true, so I started to worry that you wouldn’t be as amazing in person, but I shouldn’t have. You’re even better in person.”
You smiled gently back at Spencer. “You’re better in person too.”
Spencer studied your face intently for a few seconds, a look of uncertainty on his face. “Can I kiss you?” he asked quickly, like he was afraid he would lose his nerve if he waited.
Your smile grew. “I’d like that,” you responded.
Spencer put one hand gently on your cheek, the other still resting on your waist, and brought his lips down to meet yours. When the two of you broke away, still smiling widely, you were totally oblivious to the looks of shock and delight on the FBI agents’ faces.
“I think we might have to do this again sometime, Mrs. de Winters.”
“I think so, Maxim.”
Without speaking, the two of you leaned in again, and you were able to capture Spencer’s lips once more. You didn’t think you’d get tired of this any time soon. If only you had taken Penelope up on her offer to set the two of you up last year.
