So what pisses her off more is that she knows for a fact that the girl knows you're taken, by one of the best players in the world nonetheless, and yet still decides to flirt with you as if she had a chance

When she's had enough, Sae just goes right up to you and tells you to come over to her. When the girl starts to argue, she just glares at her and starts belittling and insulting her, mostly about how trash she is at football with her usual monotonous and deadpan tone

With all of the pda you two do, especially during matches, everyone thinks you're gonna get married anytime now. You're so schmaltzy and affectionate, and shidou does everything that's at the limit of being allowed during a match, all to show you off, she knows you're hot and she wants everyone to know that she was the one to bag you

But that still doesn't stop some girls. Seriously, how dumb and / or evil they have to be to still hit on you, what does she have to do to make everyone understand you're off limits? Start grinding on you during matches? (She genuinely considered doing that)

So whenever one of those idiots tries to hit on you, she instantly gets pissed off, goes over, side hugs you, purposefully pulling you up against her chest and starts berating the girl with insults, if she for some reason insults her back than she'll go from words to hands very fast, often getting expelled if you don't stop her

It's that she's too lazy to act on her jealousy, sure she's a bit angry at the girl trying to hit on you but going all the way over there (standing up from her chair) and talking to the girl seems a bit too difficult for her right now, and she's even in the middle of a ranked match

She'll wait for you to finish talking and drive the girl away, but if she's being really insistent and even touching you, then she might finally do something which is finishing the game, reluctantly getting up and hugging onto you like a koala and pouting telling you to stay with her

Reo is very confused looking at this scene, and all of his attempts to get nagi to do something most often end in failure

And those times where a girl is actually flirting with you, she'll immediately go over, hug you, and kiss your cheek and just start randomly bragging about how rich she is and how much she spoils you

She'll even invent stuff like the fact that you have to go to your private yatch, which you don't have (yet) or that you have only designer clothes in your closet which is actually pretty true with all the clothes she buys you but basically means nothing when you're just wearing the standard manshine jersey at the moment

The fact that she didn't bow her head before talking with you is already a bad start, but the fact that she even thought she had the slightest chance to get with you makes her chuckle a bit in amusement at how stupid she can be

She immediately enters the conversation, hugging you and proceeds to ask the girl what she was doing there. Her sheer presence and reputation are enough to make most girls scared and shily back away

but if for some reason she stays, then she'll start with the insults and belittling telling her she could never get with someone as perfect as you, especially because she's here and doesn't tolerate people who bother you

Ok, I'm having the worst time writing (and being creative) lately, so instead I keep reading and editing my drafts. Here is a scene I'm not sure I like, so I transformed it into a short TOP x reader piece or whatever. I had to change some details, since I don't want it to spoil the main thing I write, so forgive me for any nonsense. Enjoy.

Warning: Things I publish here may be out of context, since often they are little pieces of a bigger thing.

Summary: The colleague!reader watched too many videos of TOP performing Bang Bang Bang.

The familiar beat echoed through the club, making people shout with excitement and make their way to the dance floor. The song, which I had played one too many times lately — and whose live performance videos I had been watching almost obsessively on YouTube — came to my mind. The last two shots must have been pure confidence boosters, because I didn't think twice before getting to the center of the dance floor, holding Alex and Sae-ho, and jumping to the beat.

BANG BANG BANG was known, sung, and danced to by everyone here. The quiet voices of embarrassment — also known as sober elements — that had been holding me back until now were silenced by TOP's voice when his verse came in. Some of the words I sang were made up on the spot, most of them nonsense, but who cared? My mind kept replaying his lasso movements, which — oh Lord — I copied, feeling extra freaky in that cowboy hat. Images of TOP I had studied lately retraced themselves in my mind as I moved my hips to the beat.

You know that feeling when you're having all the fun in the world, dancing and singing with your friends, and then you… come down from that high, your head pounding, feeling dizzy? Yeah, usually that happens in the morning and is called a hangover. For me, it was locking eyes with Seunghyun, who was sitting at our booth with an excellent view of the dance floor. He was smiling at me, clearly amused by the performance I had just given him.

If I had one wish at that moment, it would be for the Earth to part and swallow me whole. What a disaster. How am I ever going to look him in the face and not think about this moment?

Without thinking much, I turned around and pushed through the crowd, heading straight for the ladies' room. I sighed in relief as I closed the door behind me, as if I could escape my fate. Leaning on the sink, I analyzed my reflection in the mirror.

I decided to talk myself through the situation, to get things straight and at least try to save my dignity before facing what was about to happen when I left this room.

What's the big deal? I just enjoyed myself on the dance floor to my colleague's ten-year-old song, wearing a cowboy hat and doing cowboy moves — probably thinking I looked sexy but actually being ridiculous, imitating his moves. Which clearly indicates I’ve watched all those videos recently… after admitting to him that I didn’t know him or his career history only two months ago. Well, that was two months ago. Maybe I had to dig deeper since I'm set to work with him. It was for research purposes, right?

The key is to keep my cool. Running to the bathroom isn’t exactly keeping my cool.

I splashed some water on my neck, hoping to look more composed. Shooting myself one last disappointed glance in the mirror, I stepped out of the bathroom.

The first thing I saw was Seunghyun’s figure leaning against the wall.

“Oh,” I gasped. Not exactly how I planned to play it cool. I’d preferred to meet him back at the booth — or, better yet, on Monday morning. Or even better, never at all. Instead, here he was, having followed me and waited outside the ladies' room.

"I’d be thirsty after a performance like this." he teased, handing me a bottle of water.

I felt my cheeks burn but couldn’t help smiling back at his smirk.

oh, how difficult it was to keep your lips pressed in a straight line and keep your breath steady— when you could clearly feel two pairs of eyes on your sleeping form. sleeping on your side while facing these two was such a challenge.

sae's voice was incredibly low as he spoke to your son, words coming out raspy from how hard he tried to avoid waking you up. the constant shuffling of your son in the middle of the bed made your hands itch with the urge to ruffle his hair, even when your eyes were closed.

you felt another shift, this time a gentle finger pushing away a strand of your hair behind your ear. you'd recognise the touch anywhere, anyhow.

"ma is really pretty." you heard kenji mumble quietly. (that too at the softest volume ever, because he listens to his father and definitely wouldn't want to interrupt your sleep.)

"she is very pretty," sae sighed, staring at your relaxed face, eyes trailing from your eyelashes to your slightly parted lips as you breathed out. "she works hard for us every day, you know?"

you heard kenji whisper to his dad. "she's not really sleeping, is she?"

you fluttered your eyes open right after. your son giggled loudly and flung himself in your embrace, dragging the sheets underneath his body along with him. sae usually made the bed afterwards, anyway. "i knew it!"

"good morning, ken." you softly kissed the top of his head, flattening down the wild strands of red hair that became messy due to his weird sleeping positions. while your son gave you a very cheerful 'good morning' back, your gaze shifted towards your husband, who was already staring at you with his lips pressed in a line which almost looked like a small smile. your son followed after rin as they made their way towards the pool in the backyard, rin sliding the huge glass doors aside to let more of the warm sunlight in.

you knew the pool would calm both of the boys down. it had been a long time since you enjoyed some sun as well. you grinned to yourself as you made your way upstairs to change into some swimming-appropriate clothes, making sure to take some time in order to let akio have some son and father bonding time with his dad.

they were so identical. it was as if a piece of rin was present in akio, and a piece of akio was present in rin. both of them reminded you of each other.

once you came back downstairs, you quietly sneaked a glance towards the boys outside, hearing their muffled voices.

"oh, so you want to play like this?" rin said. the grin on his face made your eyes sting ever so slightly. he splashed some water towards your laughing son who waved his hands around to protect himself from the water.

this is exactly how you imagined rin to be a few years ago, and even though he didn't believe in himself much as a soon-to-be father that time— you knew he had found his safe place now.

Bachira rolled his eyes and poked his tongue out.

"Because we are fun to be around and we treat (Y/n) with respect~" The bi-colored boy teased.

"Not to mention, I am cuter." Chigiri smirked, and Isagi thanked the Heavens as the door opened, stopping Barou from shouting.

"Ok, you 4, where is (Y/n)? Nagi and I want to eat breakfast with him." Reo announced, confusing the group as Rin and Nagi walked in right after.

"What?" Barou raised an eyebrow, getting out of his bed.

"Hand him over. We know that Bachira is the one who kidnaps him at any time of the day." Nagi yawned, then sent the said boy a glare.

"Hey! It's not my fault he is rather around me than you two bores."

"Say that again and I will kick you all the way to Spain." Reo moved closer, but got stopped by Isagi.

"Get it over with, dumbasses. Where is (Y/n)? He needs to go and eat." Rin grumbled, trying to look for her.

"What are you talking about, Underlashes? We haven't seen him since dinner." Barou raised an eyebrow.

"We know he is here. Hand him over." Nagi grumbled.

"(Y/n) isn't here. We really did not see him."

"Isagi is right. We just woke up, too." Chigiri sighed as Barou was starting to get a headache.

Silence fell among the boys, as the three intruders observed the room a little better. And the 4 were right. (Y/n) really wasn't there.

"So... he really isn't here." Reo mumbled.

"Glad you decided to use your ears for once." Barou rolled his eyes.

"Maybe he went to eat breakfast earlier?" Isagi suggested, causing the group to look at him.

"Maybe! Let's go look!" Bachira cheered as he ran out the room, followed by Reo and Chigiri.

"(Y/n) and I can share some food."

"Not if we do it first." Reo and Chigiri argued as the rest followed wordlessly after them.

'This is weird... she never leaves like that.' Barou thought.

'Now that I think of it, he did act off last night.' Rin thought, remembering the nervous expression on the captain's face.

'Where did he go? I just want to sleep on him.' Nagi pouted.

"Hmm... maybe we should ask Ego-san..." Isagi muttered to himself.

Meanwhile...

"So...how is going to eat breakfast in a restaurant supposed to help me?" (Y/n) wondered as she glanced at Sae.

"As I said, I will tell you everything once we are there and seated." Sae said nonchalantly.

"Besides, I heard that this place serves great Katsu. The chicken one is loved a lot."

This got (Y/n)'s attention on Sae more.

"Really?! I love Katsu! If that's the case, I will wait till we are there." She said excitedly, earning a sigh of relief from Sae.

'Paying money to get some of that information on him seems to be worth it.'

"I still don't understand why you didn't want me to tell Rin where I will be. I am sure he would have liked meeting you again." (Y/n) said, noticing the way Sae tensed up at her words.

"No. No. That won't be needed." Sae said seriously, shaking his head a few times.

"Rin and I are still... not the best with each other. To put it like that."

"Ah..." The girl nodded her head, deciding not speak much on it.

'Siblings are so weird...'

'Good thing he is easily convinced. I still wonder how Shidou and Rin are scared of him.' Sae wondered, discreetly staring at (Y/n)'s face.

"(Y/n), your favorite teammate is here!"

Karasu, Yukimiya, Otoya, and Hiori flinched at Bachira's loudness and looked at the door as the group slowly started walking in

"Stop yelling, Bachira. It's still pretty early." Hiori frowned, trying to ignore the comment he made.

"Besides, his favorite teammate is me~" Otoya chimed in, earning an eyeroll from Yukimiya.

"You will give our poor captain white hair before he turns 20. I on the other hand am very calm and-"

"Nah, all of you lose against me." The three glared at Karasu as Isagi walked to the table, followed by Nagi and Reo.

"Hey, did you guys see (Y/n)? We can't find him anywhere?" The four looked between each other and then at the group again.

"No. We didn't see him since dinner. Is he not your roommate, Rin?" Otoya questioned the younger Itoshi.

"He wasn't in his bed this morning." The boy said back. Now that alarmed the 4. They came to the dining hall to greet the girl and talk to her before practice started, but this wasn't something they expected.

"He wasn't there?" Yukimiya blinked a few times.

"No. And we have been looking for him the whole time." Bachira said, a little desperate to find the captain now.

"That's odd... (Y/n) isn't the type to just up and leave, especially before breakfast..." Karasu frowned, getting up from his seat.

"Maybe he is in the gym? Or went to practice earlier? I know that Tokimitsu, Gagamaru, Niko, Aryu, and Kurona went to practice a little." Hiori added in.

"And Kunigami went to the gym... maybe he can help us in looking for him." Otoya chimed in as Chigiri nodded his head.

"Good idea."

"Let's go and look for muscle head then." Barou said, trying to mask his own worry with boredom.

'Where are you now, idiot?'

"Bless you." Sae said as (Y/n) sneezed, then returned his attention to his food.

"Thanks... I hope I don't get sick." (Y/n) sniffed a little and went back to earing her food, earning a few glances from Sae.

"I assume you are aware that both you and your friend, Isagi, have caught my attention back during the game."

(Y/n) simply nodded while still munching on her food.

"Yeah, you did make it obvious. What about it?"

"I will be straight forward with you, I want you two to join my club after Blue lock is over." (Y/n) stopped in her movements and blinked at Sae a few times.

'Huh?! I joined Blue lock to escape my family! Not join some team in Spain!!' She panicked on the inside, but tried to keep her cool.

"Y-you do? Is that why you invited me out today?" (Y/n) raised her eyebrow.

"Not entirely. I would like to introduce you to a future Royale can offer you, sure, but it's not the only reason I invited you over."

"Huh?"

Sae kept his eye-contact with her, causing (Y/n) to grow even more nervous. There was just a look in Sae's eyes that made her nerves go all over the place.

'Did he figure me out?! Oh no... But, if he knew I was a girl, he wouldn't be stupid enough to talk about me joining a men's team.' She looked away from Sae and took a sip of her water.

"You are... interesting, I guess. I can't pin point it, bit there is something off about you."

(Y/n) frantically looked back at Sae, who had moved a little closer to her face.

"And I will figure out what it is."

Blushing from the closeness, (Y/n) pushed Sae gently away and nervously laughed.

"You are very funny... but there is nothing off about me... I am just a plain, normal football player."

"We will see."

Sae said, then went back to eating his food and (Y/n) turned her attention to hers.

'But... why didn't he invite Isagi as well? This is so weird...'

"You can't find him?! But where did he go?! Maybe he got lost in this building?! We should call Ego-san!" Tokimitsu said in a panic as Aryu and Gagamaru tried to calm him down. Isagi sweat dropped as he finished explaining how nobody could find (Y/n) anywhere.

"How would he get lost? Sure, the building is big, but not big enough to get lost." Niko tried to rationalize.

"And there is always staff who can help him out. Tokimitsu, I am sure he is fine, so please calm down." Kunigami added in.

"But it is weird that we can't find him. He isn't reckless..." Otoya said, sitting down on the ground, Hiori and Chigiri joining him.

"I dunno. Did anyone say anything mean to him last night? Or something that would have upset him?" Aryu interjected, earning questioning looks from the rest.

"I don't think so? Everything was normal last night. We were all just joking and training after all." Gagamaru reminded the boy.

"Hmm, true. I thought maybe he was upset and just took a walk this morning."

"Even if he was upset, he wouldn't miss out on breakfast." Reo argued, earning nods from Nagi and Barou.

"Reo has a point. And (Y/n) is the type who will just tell you if you messed up or not." Barou said.

"Well... now we know as much as we did an hour ago." Isagi mattered. There was a short silence before Kurona finally spoke up.

"You... you guys don't think he might have left..."

"What do you mean?" Bachira looked over at the nervous boy.

"Left? Why would he leave?" Hiori said, looking in worry around the room.

"Well, he did seem tired the past few weeks, especially when he has to keep some of the players at bay." Kurona spoke, sending Rin, Barou, and Nagi a few short glances, then spoke up again.

"Also, he did confess that the captain role was forced at him... Maybe he just grew tired and left."

"Th-that's impossible, Kurona!" Otoya laughed nervously as Chigiri joined in.

"Yeah! (Y/n) might have been tired, but he would never leave without telling us!"

"And Ego-san would have called us or appointed a new captain in that case!" Reo chimed in, anxiety radiating off of him. Nagi grew restless at the idea too, not liking that it did sound valid.

"That's moronic. (Y/n) is a reliable person, he wouldn't leave us." Kunigami joined.

Bachira smiled nervously, nudging a nervous Niko.

"Haha Kurona is so funny, right? (Y/n) wouldn't leave me... he wouldn't leave us. Right, Niko?"

"Uh..." Niko gulped as he looked at Bachira, who was basically begging him to agree.

"Damn it... he can't be gone. He promised he would stay here till I beat him for the 2nd spot..." Karasu bit on his nail. Yukimiya, for the first time in a while, felt really helpless. (Y/n) was so welcoming and supporting to him, a real captain, a friend... he can't be gone! He can't be gone from his life.

'Fuck, fuck, fuck... Please don't be gone!' Yukimiya poked his cheeks a few times.

"Leave? But he can't just leave... he is the only one who binds the team together." Gagamaru argued, not paying attention to the nervous Tokimitsu.

"Leave?! But... but he promised he would stay and comfort me when I need it... (Y/n) wouldn't break his promise like that!" Tokimitsu argued as Aryu stayed quiet. He was way too horrified at the idea of (Y/n) gone.

'He... he isn't... he is here somewhere! He just took a walk! That's all!' Aryu thought.

"Isagi... (Y/n) is still here. He didn't leave, right?" Hiori wondered in worry. He didn't want (Y/n) gone!

'He is the only person who understood me.'

"I... I really don't know." Isagi gulped, anxiety rising in his body as well.

'She didn't go. She told me she didn't want to go home. After all, she would rather be a captain to us than be home with those people. She told me so.'

Rin clenched his fists, not wanting to admit he was worried by that idea.

'That's stupid, he is still here. He didn't leave... I know that!'

'Stupid idiot! Why would she leave?!' Barou was meanwhile fighting both worry and anger, when suddenly a thought hit both him and Isagi.

'What will her parents do now?' They gulped.

"You... you like Sanrio characters?" Sae raised an eyebrow as he saw (Y/n) pick up a pink, sheep plushie from that section. The girl blushed and sheepishly nodded her head.

"A little... I have some fond memories with this show. I also like Piano as a character."

Sae said nothing as (Y/n)'s face turned redder and smile grew bigger.

"Childish, I know."

Sae blinked at her a few times, then looked away, face red.

"It's... it's cool. The sheep looks cool." Sae said, daring a glance at (Y/n). The girl looked a little shocked, but got over it soon.

"Thanks! And, thank you for inviting me out today. I would have hardly gotten a day off otherwise."

Trying to calm the redness down, Sae looked over at (Y/n), playing it off cool.

"Sure."

A whole day of practice had passed... and it's easy to say that it was anything but a good day. None of the boys could concentrate on playing. And how could they? After all, their captain is nowhere to be found. She is possibly gone forever. The team barely got anything done, and all of them just wanted to be over with the day. They couldn't even stomach any food.

"Why are you all following me?"

"We want to have some of (Y/n)'s stuff. And with that said, I am getting the pillow as my cuddle buddy." Bachira answered Rin's question.

"Bachira, you weirdo! You have to share with me." Chigiri chimed in, earning weirded out looks from the team.

"Shouldn't you all go eat dinner?" Rin wondered, earning sobs from Aryu, Tokimitsu, and Otoya.

"(Y/n) loved dinner, too!"

Karasu rolled his eyes at their dramatic behavior.

"You all are annoying." Rin sighed and opened the door to his room, expecting to find it empty.

"Ah, Rin. I was wondering where you are. It's pretty late- Why is the rest of the team here?" Rin, along with the rest of the team froze as they saw (Y/n), dressed in her pajamas, looking in confusion at them.

"(Y/n).... you-you didn't leave?" Nagi blurted out.

"Leave? I just had a day of today...and had to meet someone." (Y/n) explained.

"Are you all ok? You look like you saw a ghost-"

"Wait! So... so you are still our captain and teammate?!" Otoya yelled, clearly a wreck from what had happened.

"Yes? Why wouldn't I be-"

"I am so happy to hear that!!"

"You had me worried!"

"I was never happier to be wrong!"

"Thank God!"

(Y/n) yelled in surprise as Bachira, Niko, Kurona, and Hiori tackled her into a hug. Reo, Nagi, Isagi, and Karasu ran right after them, just as revealed as the rest.

"Get off of him, guys." Kunigami said, walking over to help (Y/n). Chigiri joining soon in to free (Y/n) from Bachira's grip.

"Donkey loser, you have no idea what sort of shit you put me through today." Barou scolded the boy, but he was very released to find his friend back where she should be.

Gagamaru, Tokimitsu, Aryu, Otoya, and Yukimiya walked over too, bombarding the player with many questions.

"Please, one at a time! What did you say, Gagamaru?" (Y/n) looked around nervously.

Rin silently approached them, sitting down on his bed, and let out a sigh he didn't know he was keeping in.

'Thank God...'

you chuckled fondly as you ruffled his fluffy hair. "it'll be over before you know it."

"noooooo" he whined, shoving his tall frame onto your smaller one. "i dont wanna go! i wanna just stay here with youuuu"

"sei! you're crushing me!"

"dont care."

"..reo! help!"

reo sighed as he plucked nagi off of you. "come on, nagi. we've gotta go."

he groaned. "but its so much of a hassle.."

"too bad. say your last words."

he sighed and mumbled something under his breath before turning his attention back to you.

"can i get a kiss?"

"hm?"

"and can you make it last forever?" he puppy eye-d you.

"im about to go to WAR"

it had been awkward between you and hyoma lately.

his whole injury thing had taken a toll on not only his mental health and soccer career, but also your relationship.

still, you wanted to see him off nonetheless.

"be safe," you said awkwardly. "hope its fun."

he chuckled stiffly. "thanks."

there was a long pause where neither of you said anything. the air was tense, and you hated it.

"well," you said, "i'll see you when its over, then."

panic flooded his senses as you began to leave. "wait." he said, grabbing your wrist.

when you turned around to look at him, he averted his gaze. "can i have a kiss?"

your eyes widened in surprise.

"..what?"

you hadn't had any form of real communication since he got injured, and now he's suddenly asking for a kiss?

he let go of you. "uh.. sorry. you dont have to if you dont wa-"

you cut him off with a deep kiss, wanting to taste his lips. his eyes widened a little before returning it, hands in your hair.

when you released for air, you whispered, "i'll make it last forever," before going in for a second round.

after you both pulled away, breathless, chigiri smiled and gazed at you gently, caressing a lock of your hair, trying to remain composed, but his red face giving his real mental state away. "well, sounds like this blue lock thing's gonna be like a war. i dont know how long it'll be until i see you again."

you chuckled fondly. "i'll wait for you, hyoma."

his pretty smile caught the attention of passerby. (um mr. no-pda what r u doing but wtv) "ok. thanks."

he turned around to go, but it was you who grabbed his wrist this time.

"i love you, hyoma."

his gaze softened. "i love you too."

"so you're really leaving for spain, sae?" you mumbled, though you already knew the answer. when you got no response, you sighed and pulled him in for a hug. "i'm gonna miss you."

he hugged you back and squeezed you tight. "me too."

"don't forget about me in spain, ok?"

"ok."

"make sure to call me, ok?"

"ok."

"dont forget! ever week, or every day if possible! ok?"

"ok."

you sighed. "i love you, sae."

to the untrained eye, sae's expression remained the same. the same cold, harsh one that could pierce through walls. but to someone experienced like you, you saw how his expression softened ever so slightly. "i love you too."

lip beginning to quiver, you asked, "can i get a kiss?"

he hesitated, as he was in public, but quickly pressed a kiss to your cheek.

you smiled. "and can you make it last forever? you're about to go to war, y'know."

he rolled his eyes at the dramatic phrasing but gave you a slower, deeper kiss to the lips regardless.

"and i dont know if im gonna see you again!"

he gently pressed a fist to your head jokingly, letting out an 'idiot.' however, although the phrasing wasn't entirely true, he knew exactly what you meant and how you felt. (this guy? mr. no-feelings? ok.) he was sure that he'd see you again at some point, but he had no idea how long that would be. he really wanted to be with you, but he also wanted to pursue his dream, which was nearly within his grasp, and spain was the only place he could do that right now.

you began to tear up. "im really gonna miss you."

"i know. me too."

you were never very good at goodbyes. you didnt even take leaving his house well. but realizing that suddenly, your boyfriend was going to be in a whole different country with a whole different language and a whole different time zone without you, hit you harder than you could've ever expected. it filled you with an indescribable emotion of sadness, fear, emptiness, and more. you didnt want to, as you wanted to stay strong for sae, but you began to cry. tears streamed down your face as your buried your head in his chest, sobbing like a child.

as you cried, your tears on his sweatshirt, you began to wonder if maybe you were annoying sae. maybe he just wanted to leave and get this over with, but you were holding him back and he was just being nice by not turning his back and leaving. however, the way he held you back and pressed a small kiss to your head as he kept you firmly in his grasp told you that although he didnt express it like you did, he, too, was feeling an indescribable feeling. it told you that even though it would be hard, it would work out.

you sighed, laughing slightly, and pulled away from the hug. "well, i guess i'll be seeing you some other time, then."

"i guess so," he answered.

"bye, sae."

"bye, y/n."

you cried on the way home, once you got home, and the days that followed. you felt so lonely now that he was gone, but the daily 'goodmorning,' 'how are you,' and 'goodnight' texts helped you through it. your personal favorite, however, was the daily 'i love you' text.

This was originally written when I have only just started the third semester arc, and even now, I haven't finished the game. So no spoilers in the reposts or comments please :(! If you want a good idea of where I am, then I've only just started the actual change of heart mission

-The characters discussed in this ramble are high schoolers and below the age of 20. I don't know how old they are in strikers or in any other spin off, and I do not plan on playing them. Ok so its like. How ableism in school effects people in different ways and how to cope with it. This is semi headcanony? I don't know how bonkers of a statement it is? Basically its like Ryuji being mentally + physically disabled and constantly trying to fight for the best. Makoto is mentally disabled and masks for adults approval and just accepts how things are. Sumire could VERY easily be read as physically disabled I don't think I need to explain it that much. Neither of the phantom thieves fit into society in some way or another but with those three its a much more of a like. They will never fit in kind of thing.

Something that stands out to me the most is how Makoto is the only one who understands Ryujis "dumb moments".

I don't reallyyyyyyyyyyy read it as "Makoto is smarter than everyone else which is how she even begins to get him". Its more like she actually understands. She gets it.

Like lets be for eel. Makoto was basically pressured into working super hard. Theres no way she struggles with it that is only and simply in the "everyone wants me to appeal to their expectations" way.

She is smart but I feel like her studying hard is something she forces herself to do with the weight of ableism on her shoulders, which only makes it harder. I'm not sure if I'm making sense???? but Ryuji and Makoto can easily be read as having adhd. Ryuji as the typical LOL RANDOM 🤪 boy that inconveniences everyone whos actually really tired and struggling really badly and working as hard as he can. Makoto can be read as "oh, no, she isn't disabled :). She acts normal" when she really is and it pushed to the limits and can't fight against it and create a better school experience for herself because of how everyone just denies it.

Theres also Sae actively trying to make sure Makoto gets the recognition she deserves. Yes, this is because Makoto is a girl in a world where men control everything. But I personally feel like theres also this intersectionality of misogyny and ableism, which only means Makoto has to work even harder and has more weight on her shoulders.

Additionally, adhd is already ignored when it comes to girls having it, because to society, its mainly a boys thing where they jump up and down and run everywhere. Girls aren't thought to have adhd because not only do they have to mask harder to be taken seriously, but also because society ignores other symptoms and just views them as normal or not as much of an inconvenience to them personally and not to the person who actually has the disability.

You can also VERY EASILY add the idea of Makoto being japanese into all of the intersectionality stuff. Mental disorders are even HARDER to get diagnosed when you're colored,, and nobody cares until its too late. East asian readers who live/have lived in east asia are completely free to add on to this and correct me, as I don't know what it would be like when the mass majority of people you're surrounded by everyday are the same race as you, as you wouldn't have to deal with stereotypes or the system being against you (unless I am wrong :<!), but I still feel like this is DEFINITELY worth mentioning

I'm not physically disabled (I suppose? Saying this because of depression aches but they likely don't count) so I can't really be as personal about Ryujis leg and Sumires,,,,,, everything. I feel like Sumire could be read as having an invisible disability thats not taken seriously. Something something internalized ableism something something the school being so hard on her is making everything worse something something chasing to be someone else when in the end it'll never work.

Even with Sumire becoming Kasumi just because she can't imagine living as "her murderer", theres something about living as someone with different privileges and expectations than you. Theres something about not being able to be "as good" as them, especially when everyone thinks you are them. Theres something about having to struggle with something that no one can see. "This is Kasumi, not Sumire. So why is she failing so much?"

Theres also something about Ryujis "perfect world" being focused on his leg healing. Yes, hes a part of the track team again. But they aren't really the focus. Think of characters like Sumires dad, Mika, and Shibusawa. They have character portraits/sprites. While this doesn't 100% mean that they're important, it does make you remember them better. It establishes their personalities better and they're mentioned quite a bit.

Meanwhile, the side characters in Ryujis social links are just known as, well, "the track team" and "the coaches". They do have names, but, please be honest with yourself, do you remember them? And they don't have actual sprites either. Just typical modules.

Meanwhile, when you go up and talk to Ryuji, Akira/Ren/The Protagonist doesn't ask about the team or anything. Its about Ryujis leg (and also how they met I guess which is quite romantic but thats not relevant). And its normal to wish your disability wasn't there at all. I wish so everyday. Its a very common experience, especially when your disability is a roadblock to achieving your dreams.

It kind of makes me think of Maruki as........kind of ableist? At least in the context of this headcanon. Because all he is doing is encouraging Sumire and Ryuji to conform into an identity that they'll never truly be, which only hurts them more in the end.

Basically what I'm saying is that these three specifically should come together and kiss. And snuggle. Maybe make out a little. Maybe burn down shujin. I came up with a ship name for them (niijimoyoshizawa) but as you can see, its ass. So theres that.

Even if you don't end up shipping them,, then I hope you imagine them being sweet friends to each other,, or that I've gave you a different perspective on their arcs

Kaiser the second captain came at him and called him out. This was the moment he asked him to meet him after practice, he accepted.

After their conversation, they waited a couple of days to show some public affection to each other, like holding hands or a kiss here and there. 

Then a month later they moved together. His family was happy to see he moved on, Isagi just thought “if they now this was part of a big problem to get back with Rin”

The Ballon D’or ceremony arrived and there was Rin with… Nanase?! What the fuck?!

Kaiser could feel Isagi’s holding tightly his hand and he looked around knowing exactly something was off, his weird mental connection with him worked even off the field, and spotted Rin with his dog, Nanase.

“That fucker…” Kaiser was about to punch him in the face but Isagi held him back “no, it’s ok… I should have expected this… our relationship was on the newspapers and he is doing the same” even with that cold analysis from him Kaiser knows him too well but decided to do as he told him “ok…” he kissed his head and Isagi just smiled.

They walked in avoiding the journalists, Rin and Nanase. Inside they looked for their seat and once there Isagi collapsed in tears “I was an idiot to believe he wouldn’t do something like this… my eyes are only good on the field but not out of it”

Kaiser became a huge support for Isagi, he helped keep him motivated after that incident and they noticed Rin was a little annoyed at the after party as Isagi and Kaiser were chatting with other former members of the Blue Lock project and some of their teammates and they seemed relaxed.

Kaiser, now and then, looked at Rin and smirked, satisfied without Isagi noticing. They made the promise that Isagi won’t look at Rin all night. Even when they got the award for the best Eleven of the 2023-2024 and even considering that three of them were top 1, 2 and 3, only by a couple votes away from the other. Kaiser was top 1, Isagi was top 2 and Rin top 3, because the first two players were key in the Real Madrid championship.

And, even though he keeps denying it to Bachira after a Clásico or if their next match is close to their current cities, he can’t help but keeps falling in love with Kaiser, Rin’s memory keeps getting blurred in his mind and he keeps realizing that he was missing a lot with the long distance relationship, like cuddles or just waking up next to someone.

Meanwhile Kaiser was dealing with his own doubts, he noticed Isagi was less concerned about Rin and was looking for his touches but maybe it was just to keep him satisfied because he was a whore for him, he wasn’t a real boyfriend but a tool for his ultimate goal, he was okay with it but he wasn’t ready for the day Isagi will kick him away. 

He never believed in true love, he had a terrible experience as a child so now that he has someone he really loves, he wants to keep him by his side and love him.

One night Isagi decided to open up with Kaiser “Michael…” he said as they were on the balcony looking at the night skyline of Madrid, both cuddling under a light blanket, it was almost winter so the weather was getting colder.

“Thank you” Kaiser looked stunned at him “thank you for accepting this… I didn’t realized how lonely I was until we got together” Kaiser knows he hasn’t finished yet “some nights I felt so lonely that I had cry my eyes out to sleep” he felt Kaiser holding him tighter “and I thought this would last forever and that I would always be living in this storm”

“Yoichi...”

“So right now I'm happy to have you by my side, Michael” he smiled and, for the first time since this deal began, Yoichi kissed Kaiser and he could feel something different... Feelings in that kiss.

Their first kiss with true feelings ever since this started. And for the first time they didn't have sex, they made love.

“Yoichi, I made peace with my past a long time ago, maybe this particular day is a tough one but now I have you with me”

Isagi smiled and blushed a little “good then, I have two presents, one for Christmas and one for your birthday” he handed a little box and a big box.

Kaiser opened the small first and there was a ring with blue roses around it and inside was written his full name and his date of birth.

“Yoichi...” He was amazed by it's beauty.

“I ordered one for me too” he said showing him his own ring. His ring had blue footballs entangled with black chains “and mine has my full name too and my birthday date”

Kaiser smiled and put on his ring “it's beautiful, thank you” then he opened the big box, it was a football signed with their former teammates at the Bastard München and it looked like the ball he bought when he was a kid, he had some tears in the corner of his blue eyes.

“There's a letter inside” Kaiser nodded, knowing if he try to speak his voice might fail him.

He got out the letter, the cover was a picture of them after their first league together as a team. Behind the picture there were a few words.

He opened he little box and there was a chain with two little pendants, one was a blue rose and a blue lock.

“I wrote this to you” he handed him a letter with japanese letters “I know I suck at this but I asked Sae to help me” 

“Sae helped you?”

“Yeah he said his little brother was a shitty boyfriend and he wanted someone special for his favorite striker. And it wasn't about me because I would never date Rin Rin” he said his nickname with sarcasm.

“Good idea” Isagi turned to read the message and it said a simple “I love you, shitty boy” Isagi smirked and looked at him then kissed him again.

It was official. Michael Kaiser and Yoichi Isagi were in love and a real couple.

REO doesn't do anything dramatic, contrary to his day2day activities he thinks, its regular - because why wouldn't you get confessions? he does, like everyday. in fact he would think it's weird that you don't get as much letters as he does, your just like him!

he does become protective more than usual though. instead of immediately going to practice after school with that lazy white head ghost he takes a small peek at your lockers and classrooms, trying to see if that "anon" would appear and put a second letter.

you catch him of course, when he's hiding behind the walls and trying to catch a glimpse. he immediately gets flustered and denies it - runs straight to the football fields.

what you don't notice, is that while reo was dashing away, another person in the corner makes their way into your classroom and slips a second letter to your desk. a certain white haired, lazy ghost. my good brother reo was equally as confused when he doesn't see nagi at the benches like..

SHIDOU is a demon sent from hell that somehow mistakenly got birthed as a human. he's good friends with the corner store owner that has a shady salon business going on, maybe the salon part is just a front? either way, you have to wait outside the salon because shidou loves to dye his hair.

waiting outside is boring, but today is special because you got a confession letter ! you got out the now somewhat crimpled paper and read it again and again like an idiot "...love the way you talk to me and.." "and?"

oh. well someone was early. shidou snatched the letter out of your hands and reads it thoroughly, cue you trying to take it back but its a pro soccer player your going against.

and he started laughing. like a jerk. "listen, i know your bored n stuff but there's better ways of wasting time than writing fake letters ya know?" he laughs at you again - you just grumble at him and cross your arms, giving him the >:( look.

and he thinks its weird you gave him that look, maybe you really did get a confession. wait wait wait, so if you DID get a letter, then who's the bastard that confessed???????????????????????????

ok no more playing around shidou, its time to get investigator out. he doesn't even realise how protective he became, he gaslights himself into thinking that its because he's "curious" but come on.

then he calls sae, sae tells rin, rin tells isagi, who tells chigiri, kunigami and yukimiya, who tells kurona, hiori, nanase, igaguri who then tells the temple, then kurona tells kaiser, who tells ness, who tells noa

in fact now the entire soccer team knows, creates so much buzz and attention you never really found out who wrote it. you glared at shidou when so many people asked you about the letter and he just innocently shrugs, secretly happy that since there's so much people surrounding you about this topic, the person who wrote it will never come out.
