It's one of my favorite games of all time.#.....the final battle took me out of it a little bit ngjfkdlnshjk #It introduced a bunch of new mechanics and maybe I'm dumb but it felt like it wasn't super clear how everything worked #First I restarted it because I dropped a globe of invuln on the starting area thinking Orpheus could just activate the stones from that far #Then I restarted it bc I basically ran out of time on the rounds...except I didn't realize the fight would continue since every other-#-turn-based round counter was usually a game over #THEN I actually summoned the flaming fist to help clean up right at the end which made the camera SUPER confused when I went in the portal #It was a mess.#I still give the game an 11/10 tho lmao #Oh also Orpheus did something - I don't know what - and then the dragon just died with 120hp left. So. I think the shame definitely turns him on more, considering Mac Day:

While he was repressed then, he wasn't as of Charlie's Home Alone, so I think it's clear to claim that a part of his "homosexual awakening" was connected to the fact that he was gradually getting more and more into the idea of being punished (gone sexual) for his sins, to a point where he was just genuinely jerking off to the "evils of homosexuality"

I do wanna continue here though and say Season 15 is pretty interesting because we see Mac battle between being Catholic and proudly gay. He seemingly has no issue bragging to a Priest in the middle of a church that he's into triple penetration, but it is his sex life that is the driving "reasoning" for why he thinks he should become a Catholic Priest:

He's been "S-ing&F-ing" his way though life for too long and now he thinks God has taken away one of his identities (Irish) as a result. Mac's idea of being punished by/for God continues, but it's now through the form of revocation (as opposed to shame or flagellation). I think there's a clear "connect the dots" idea that depriving himself of sex (via becoming a Priest) is an "evolved" form of allowing God to punish him for being gay.

Obviously Mac learns he was lied to, as he actually is Irish, so his "journey" here is a bit of a wash, but the fact that his rationale jumped to God punishing him for having gay sex still stands. As he grows to accept himself, he's still looking for ways to feel shame (which, as we've seen, gets him off)...

But is the constant seeking for some form of punishment still there? We didn't see much of his Catholicism in Season 16 (I think the only mention of God from Mac was in The Gang Gets Cursed), but we did continue to see his sex life and—well, that was pretty heavy on Mac, openly gay dating, somehow managing to be neglected and deprived of actual gay sex, wasn't it?

Huchu #The Library of the Dead #really enjoy this series!#the worldbuilding is very interesting - kinda combo climate-ravaged future but also in some aspects societally it feels kinda 1800s #(especially with the vibe of the mystery/paranormal elements)#I saw that the author (who is from Zimbabwe) describe it as ‘if edinburgh was a third world city’ which actually makes a lot of sense #Also I have to make the wendell & wild x lockwood & co comp again #I felt like book 2 was a little all over the place? I slightly lost track of the other-realms stuff lol #I really loved book 3 though - definitely more direct plot-wise #I like how it explores her journey through learning that the magic society is just as corrupt and shitty as anything else and maybe she #doesn't want it after all. as well as how the stress of everything is getting to her is causing panic attacks #love the scottish accent in the audiobooks!#so many interesting different supernatural elements. yay for sidhe in book 3 (tho only briefly)#hold on. do the book covers reflect the colour of her locs. things i like about totk so far: the depths,

i am going to be so completely honest i thought id be able to think of more. um. this is awkward

went to see the aces yesterday which first of all they were amazing it was my first time going to a concert w lesbian music and it was very special to me (also the lead singer was so sexy btw js 😩) but ANYWAY. i asked my friend if she wanted to go w me & she had never listened to them before but she said she would and i sent her some of their music to listen to etc etc. so like we went to the concert it was great and afterwards she told me she thought it was boring and she didn’t like the music. which was kind of crazy to me bc it’s like indie pop/rock music and like as someone who does not enjoy the majority of indie music bc i find it boring their music is not boring 😭 so first of all i find that offensive. second of all she was like well if you find a concert from x artists then i would enjoy that and she listed like three artists to me one of which was taylor swift and i was like. yeah where am i gonna get taylor swift tickets lmfao. but the other artist she listed (i don’t remember the third one she said lol) i just looked up his music and i’m legit like 😭😭😭 first of all this man looks like he just finished hibernating for the winter and crawled out of the cave into the sun for the first time in months. second of all. that’s also what his music sounded like. my point being that going to this man’s concert while he strums a single guitar in a flannel shirt and jeans would be a million times more boring than watching women having fun on stage and singing abt lesbianism idk call me crazy………it’s like i would find it more understandable if it was at LEAST interesting music………

I like a lot of the characters. I maybe didn’t feel blown away?#it feels mostly focused on developing more bits of worldbuilding; backstories; character relationships (Which it does well!)#the actual politic/gods/war/plot stuff felt anticlimactic in the end and a lot was unresolved #Definitely the most interesting part to me was Xiala finally having space to herself and finding out more about Teek #and her people. I would read a whole book about her hanging out with sea creatures #Nara and iktan are cute. I like them.#jesus what a death count #can i admit i don’t super care about serapio and xiala…..like it’s enjoyable surface level but that’s it #like I did enjoy it overall i would still recommend the series! yesterday i watched intruder 1989 btw funniest shit i ever seen

#oh nay #i've picked back up on my slasher watching recently a few weeks ago i watched #the final girls 2015 (cried the WHOLE time then immediately got my period) the burning 1981 (i love a friday ripoff) and stage fright #aka deliria 1987 (italian + sososo pretty)#INTRUDER THO i was so immediately charmed by the setting (stuck in a little grocery store overnight.... i love when it's cramped up #in a little space esp when it's familiar and comforting)#it felt like. it was ok but so clearly could have been better it's painful. but i enjoyed it a lot #the camerawork and framing and stuff was SOOO creative and fun #and the kills were fun fun fun fun the sfx were slay i think there might have been like 3 different fake heads that got cut in half #and the likes #i ALWAYS love that so much #was a bit slow but it was fine it had a bit of a. my bloody valentine vibe to it. the bloodbags were cute i cared them enough #the killer felt a bit..... eh......... but it was done well enough i did Not suspect a thing but also i don't even try to figure stuff out #so who knows #i have DECIDED that evil dead & child's play WILL be watched closer to halloween this year so there's that but i've gathered a huge fuckin #list of Other Stuff until then #man I WATCHED TOURIST TRAP 1979 IT WAS SO INSANE???????? IT WAS SO FUCKED UP SILLY I'M OBSESSED W IT?????#how can something feel SO MUCH like texas chainsaw but actually be SO DIFFERENT SO MUCH THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IT WAS!!!!!!!!
