Blog Post #3! Woohoo, still no one reading but we’re just going to keep trucking along here. As we have entered this quarantined time period, I'm sure most of you learned fast how important it is to take care of yourself and the effect it has on your mental health as a person. It’s easy to lose track of a routine when we have no where to be but, ladies and gentlemen, self care is important! So get up and brush your teeth and take care of your skin!! 

Well anyway’s, since I really enjoy my skin care routine, I thought I would make a post about it. First of all, I have pretty oily skin but also dry skin, so I guess that would mean combination skin...? Either way, I found that moisturizing your skin is KEY no matter what. Grab my hand and let me guide you through my skin care routine........

MORNING 

Exfoliate everyday with the Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub 

Tone with Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel and cotton pad 

Apply serum (I like to switch between Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin C)

Apply Bliss Ex-glow Sion Eye Cream

Liberally apply Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 50 (I know it’s annoying when people say sunscreen is important but it really is)

NIGHT

Double cleanse with Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil if wearing makeup (only one time if not wearing makeup) 

Clean and Clear Spot Treatment (If needed)

Apply Burt’s Bees Complete Nourishment Facial Oil

Apply Bliss Ex-glow Sion Eye Cream

Moisturize with CervaVe Moisturizing Cream 

And thats pretty much it. Now I know what you’re thinking, seems too simply, but don’t worry this is my tried and true skin care method. Please also take into account that I’m a poor college student and not a skin care expert whatsoever! HA!

As it turns out, Naturium uses a derivative of the pure Azelaic Acid that Paula’s Choice and The Ordinary are using in their similar formulations — Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate. My googling led me to the discovery that formulating with Azelaic Acid is actually quite challenging — which may explain the dearth of Azelaic Acid products in the skincare marketplace considering its broad benefits for the skin. . In addition to 10% Azelaic Acid, the Naturium formula contains two other power brighteners, Niacinamide and Ethyl Ascorbic Acid — a stable, water-soluble Vitamin C. There’s even a smattering of Coffee Seed Extract for a solid antioxidant defense when combined with the Niacinamide and Vitamin C. .
