Your Thursday gifsets absolutely kill me every single time in the best ways and I absolutely adore how creative they are. You pick the most wonderful quotes/lyrics/moments that just destroy me and ruin my day (affectionate).

If you have time, I would like to suggest a gifset to Spinnin' by Madison Beer. The lyrics feel so Steve to me post-Bucky's fall in CATFA and waking up in Avengers Assemble. I particularly like the lines:

I woke up, fell back to sleep (sleep) 'Cause I'd rather live in my dreams (ah, ah, ah) I lay here wonderin' why Did the world stop spinnin' or did I?

But I honestly think the song is so Steve-coded that any of the lyrics could work for that period in his life when everything changed for him.

This fic stars Bucky, aspiring singer/songwriter, who’s just lost his arm in an accident, and to appease his family who keeps badgering him for updates, he sends them videos since writing and texting are difficult for him without his dominant hand. For Becca’s birthday, he sends her a birthday video, sings a little bit and thinks nothing of it. She releases the snippet because she’s bawling and very “LOOK AT MY TALENTED SWEET BROTHER” and the response is huge. She makes him start a channel, to inspire others, etc. He talks about everything — the difficulties, how some days he really doesn’t feel up for facing the world but sometimes he manages to find life beautiful, still.

Steve, constantly fighting chronic illness and in general lonely, depressed since the death of his mother, finds this video and subsequently the channel. He listens to Bucky during the day as he works, and it’s almost like Bucky’s voice becomes a fixture in his life, teaching him to live life to the fullest again.

Last song I listened to: Last Train to Nowhere - Ghost Hounds

If you like blues - check them out. Their sound is straight out of a 1940s oil drum and they're channeling every last dirty guitar riff and bass line through the last six decades from Free to The Black Crowes to Rival Sons. From earlier tag games some of you know that i listen to the gamut from grunge to industrial to hiphop to metal, but sometimes, darlings, it's just gotta be blues.

Last thing I read: The Second Sleep - Robert Harris

He does a lot of alternative-versions-of-history novels, often with a mystery /thriller element, but this was a bit of a letdown, unfortunately. It has an incredibly well-built world with some very thought-provoking elements of how civilization would fall and rebuild after a technological extinction event (not a calamity -- just the absolute dependence of society on not just technology, but the cloud, and the complete ruination its failure and loss brings) --- which is revealed very gradually and organically (initially you think you're reading a normal high-middle-ages story and then, suddenly -- ancient plastic artifacts. It's well done). But the story builds and builds and builds -- and you keep watching the pages dwindle and worry about how he'll wrap this up, and then, basically, he doesn't. It's not an open end, not even unfinished -- but it is intensely dissatisfying and has an air of "my publisher wanted this by tomorrow". It was definitely worth reading once, but it won't become perennial.

Last movie I watched: Dune Part Two

Enough said. 😂 i'm going to go see Civil War this weekend.

Last TV show: The Continental (look, i love everything John Wick, i won't apologize. And this has a lot of really good world building and storytelling ideas so far.)

Which doesn't disguise the fact that i. Am. So. Fucking. Behind. On. EVERYTHING.

EVERYTHING. OMG. i have not enough time in the day for all the stories i want to imbibe and write and also i have to make room for my current Leverage re-binge, because sometimes i need to see a world where justice is A Thing.

Next up: Fallout, obvi. And Ripley. And The Gentlemen. And now that @booksandabeer mentioned it, Shogun has climbed up the watchlist to #4, and 3 Body Problem has entered it.

You guys still want fic from me, or can i stop writing to free up some time? 😂

Last thing I googled: i cannot stress this enough: i DO NOT GOOGLE. i DUCKDUCKGO.

Having said that, the last thing i searched for was: "longest sniper shots in military history". For a throwaway fic line. i'm going to end up on a letter agency watchlist one of these days and they're not going to like my explanation of 'realistic fictional character dialogue'. Are they.

Last thing I ate: Buttermilk. Which is either very cool, or very sad. 😂

Sweet, salty, or savory: Here's the thing: i do not like the taste of sweet. All sweet. Every iteration of sweet. My fave chocolate is 85 - 99% and my actual hell is a candy store. So, like, SAVORY all the way. And then salty, natch.

Sleep: What is sleep? Do not compute. Want it, though.

Currently reading: Rivers of London - Ben Aaronovich

Mostly for phrases like: "Being a seasoned Londoner, Martin gave the body the "London once-over" - a quick glance to determine whether this was a drunk, a crazy or a human being in distress. The fact that it was entirely possible for someone to be all three simultaneously is why good-Samaritanism in London is considered an extreme sport - like BASE jumping or crocodile wrestling."

Obviously, 2022 was a shitshow in many regards. Lots of bad stuff happened, particularly in the world in general, and in my personal life, too. Nevertheless!

I’d like to take a minute to acknowledge the good things that happened in my life as well, because while they don’t won’t make the bad things any better, the good things matter, too – they’re just easier to forget 🙃

So because I love making lists, I made a list! And then debated whether or not to post it on here or to just keep it to myself and my loved ones, but eh, what’s the harm in sharing? Most of you won’t be interested in reading about all this of course, but maybe some of you are, and maybe it’ll remind someone else of the good things that happened in their life as well. Who knows.

So, here goes (I’ll start off with some fandom things and put the more personal stuff & some pics under the cut):

Most importantly (lol) (no but really): I finally saw Chris in the flesh this year, at the Lightyear premiere in London, on his birthday. AAAHHH 😭💙🌟

Sebastian was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe this year!!! 🏆

Both our boys had a highly successful 2022 and we got so much amazing content from both of them ✨️

I made some wonderful new fandom friends (you know who you are) who made this year infinitely better, and this fandom gained a ton of incredibly talented authors and artists whose beautiful writing I got to enjoy. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for making my own & many people's lives a little (a lot) better 💘

I wrote a few fics that I’m really proud of this year (even if I’d have liked to have written more) and I'd like to think I’ve grown and improved as a writer compared to last year✍️🏻

I got another Stucky tattoo ❤️

I met up with some very awesome fandom pals in real life, twice! @ohhsodebonair & @puppypeter - I love you to bits 🥰💫

I got to go back to some of my absolute favourite cities in the world in 2022. I went to London (and Oxford) twice this year, and I saw some of my best friends again for the first time since moving back to the Netherlands/since the pandemic, which was absolutely wonderful 🇬🇧

I went back to Italy, for the first time in years and spent a couple of glorious weeks in Florence and Venice in springtime, drinking wine and revisiting all my fave spots from when I used to go there a lot as an art history student 🇮🇹

I went back to New York in the autumn and also got to see beautiful Boston for the first time, and had an amazing vacation there which included a few other first times as well (first time seeing Harvard, first time seeing the Phantom of the Opera on stage, first time visiting Madison Square Garden, first visit to the MoMA and seeing Starry Night etc.) 🇺🇸

I’ve been self-employed for a few years now, and this year was a considerably better one for my business than last year (I put in the hours too, maybe a little too many hours, but it did yield results) 🪙

I spent lots of time with my friends and their little ones and got to see them grow and turn into amazing little people 🥺💖

I got back on track with running and am back to doing weekly 10ks now 🏃🏻‍♀️

I started doing Duolingo again for Italian and it went way better than expected (all that stuff I learned during all those language courses over the years is still there somewhere!) 🦉💚

I figured out some really complicated stuff this year (health stuff and financial stuff) and I’m quite proud of myself for persevering until I had the answers I needed 💪🏻

There were several moments this year, particularly in the last month or so, where I looked back at a situation that had occurred previously and realised how much I had learned from it, and that I handle similar situations differently now. Call that growth, I guess 😌🌱

Alright, that’s the gist of it, I think! If anyone else would like to share their highlights too, I’d love to read about them!! 💗 And here's to 2023: maybe it bring us all more good stuff than bad stuff! 🙏🏻💫

nope. my name actually comes from sanskrit language which means 'light'. my father was the one who named me:)

2. when was the last time you cried?

three days ago. i had an intense fever and headache. i also vomited like 3 times and then cried on the bed because i couldn't go to sleep the whole day

3. do you have kids?

no, i don't, although i'd love to have one when i'm already married❤️

volley, badminton, fencing, baseball, swimming

i do. only with the ones i trust and the ones who get my dark humor (just to avoid potential confusion, you know😁)

8. scary movies or happy endings comedies?

both! i began to love scary movies after i watched mike flanagan's works. i fell in love with his horror miniseries (ex: haunting of the hill house, the fall of the house of usher). he's been bringing intricate and deep issues like mental health, family, addiction, etc in his works. and for comedies, i could never say no to them🤍. ghost (played by demi moore) is my favourite timeless comedy movie with a dash of horror.

I try to answer the comments on the WIPs I'm currently working on. I don't answer comments to completed fics though I read and cherish every comment I receive <3

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope

What's your all-time favourite ship?

Currently I'm deep in the Negan/Carl Grimes (TWD) brainrot.

What are your writing strengths?

I want to say dialogues? I work hard on trying to pin down the individual voice of each character and give them realistic dialogues. On this subject, the hardest character to write for used to be Negan but now I think more at ease writing for him.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I want to say action scenes. They're so difficult for me to write. I can never get the pacing right or dynamic enough and it always reads flat to me...

First fandom you wrote for?

I first started to write for Teen Wolf then stopped and took writing again during Covid when I binge-watched BBC Merlin. I received such nice comments for my Merlin fic that it motivated me to write more and for whatever fandom I'm in at the moment. Currently, I'm still deep in TWD fandom, mostly because the people I've found there have all been so lovely.

Hi! First of all, I'm such a huge fan of your gifsets and edits. They're always so creative and heart-wrenching. It's getting to the point I'm having to ready my heart to be attacked every Thursday.

I'm not sure if you're taking requests, but there's a quote from Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson that I've been thinking about for about a year wanting to do something with it but having zero creative skills to do it justice.

Are you named after anyone? >>> No. My dad picked out all of my siblings and my names because he liked the sound of them. But our middle names are all music pieces!

When was the last time you cried? >>> Hmm...I can't remember, which is a nice thing, but it was within the last few months--I cry when I'm angry, when I hear a particularly good song, when I've had a rough day and someone's nice to me...

Do you have kids? >>> Nope! But I am the oldest of four sisters so...

What sports do you play/have you played? >>> I was not put in any sports as a young child, due mostly, I think, to my parents wishing to keep me away from competitiveness and the concept of "winning" so my talents are limited to a backyard game of baseball or football.
