thinking about how for four maybe five years mr curtis had a shadow that would follow him around. thinking about how when mr curtis (darrel sr) woke up early to get ready for work, no matter how quiet he is, his shadow is always clumsily getting ready for work too. thinking about darrel sr having a quiet bowl of cereal most mornings with his shadow at the kitchen table before his shadow inevitably falls back asleep. thinking about how in the first two years of having a shadow, he never had any privacy not even to use the restroom because his shadow was just that. his shadow would clumsily open the bathroom door just to watch him. thinking about how around the fourth year of having a shadow suddenly darrel sr’s shadow is always gripping his pants leg. thinking about darrel sr going for late night drives with his shadow before he gains a second shadow.
