Who else is proud of who they are, of their kintype ? I am not proud to be a human, but a dragon, or any others of my kintypes ? Fuck yes

I take pride in being a dragon.

I am aware of how powerful I am, despite being born in a weak body. It isn’t mine.

I know I could outlive every creatures of this earth, I know I did outlive them in another life.

I have seen more than any humans could imagine, I can’t be phased by anything anymore. Yet as a human, I can’t reach all that knowledge I once possessed.

I know what I could be, what I should be, I long to go back to my real form.

I am big and powerful, I am feared and wise, I am everything I can’t be in this life.

And yet no one sees it, no one is even aware of who I really am, of what I really am.

I long to go back flying above the mountains, feeling my scales rattle as I move, and my wings extend impossible wide as I observe landscapes from the sky.

I long to be free, to live for centuries and know everything there is to know, to be a fierce warrior and a trusted protector, to be rid of all those modern human atrocities.

It is not the world I used to know, and it hurts to see it slowly perish because one singular species worries more about their profits than the ground they walk on.
