yes!! i used this url a lot in the past, i think i first got it really soon after i first read solitaire in 2017, and then i would switch back and forth between this and a bunch of other ones until 2021. it's kind of funny that darcyolsson was the one that stuck eventually bc i used this a lot more over the years!

i'll go back to darcyolsson in time (not using that url feels weird by now) but after seeing tori & michael in the show i had to..... i love them so dearly still. 4ever sticking with the alice urls though she raised me through the magic of the internet & young adult books and for that this blog must forever remain a shrine to her work (even if it's just in name) 🙏

Love it as long as a translation happens either within the fic, or in the author's notes so I know what it says. I use the Vulcan language a fair bit in my Trek fics.

Reader is the guitarist of My Covenless Romance.

("My Covenless Romance" is basically the Boiling Isles' version of "My Chemical Romance")

A/N: This took longer than excepted lol

•Hearing commotion, he rushed to the scene to find.. a crowd of teenagers cheering and..crying? to a band playing on a stage.

• 'What's so "great" about them? Sheesh, just go to the Bard Coven if you wanna watch someone performing or whatever' he prob thought.

•"Authorities and rules are so much better" little jerk most likely thought that too.

• “My Covenless Romance” written in a poster above the stage.

•Intrigued by everyone's hype, he stayed to see what was all about, obviously ONLY and STRICTLY for " investigation purposes". (Nah bestie you aint fooling anyone)

•It'll just be 5 minutes....

•He stayed the whole concert 💀

•rip his duties.

• After the incident, he started going regularly to the night market to "patrol" since he caught sight of insights of "suspiscious witches"

• The next day, he reported catching insights of a suspicious group of witches and for that reason he would patrol the market more frequently.

•Tried learning a few songs with his guitar. (I have a HC Hunter knows how to play guitar ok?)

• The more he listened to their music, the more he wanted to learn about the band's members.

• Researched on fansites for information about the members such as their name, their positions or roles in the band and the most important one, at least to him, which coven were they part of; and if it wasn't obvious, everyone was from the bard coven. (BARD COVEN SUPREMACY)

• As he passed through all the information, there was only one member left to check.

• Surveying through your information, you were the guitarist, "(Y/N) (L/N) is the youngest of the group with the age of 16, despite their young age, they managed to enter the bard coven without complications, which makes them a really talented witch", if he wasn't interested enough before, OH BOY, NOW HE WAS.

•He likes electric guitars, you play one pretty good, yeah new simp for you.

• Aside from being the guitarist, you were also the lead singer, so sometimes you helped the main vocalist on the chorus, or you had solo parts.

•He loves your singing and watching you perform live makes his days better.

• If by any chance you changed some notes and did a musical arrangement that wasn't part of the original song, or did a random freestyle, he would get goosebumps by how great it sounded. *chef kiss*

• You really captived this boy's heart :,,,) ❤️

•When MCR annouced they were doing a fan-sign, believe me when I say he RUSHED, as if Belos asked him to do it, to bought a ticket for the event.

(If you don't know what a fan-sign, then SEARCH IT UP, YOU LAZY! JK, a fan-sign its an autograph signing album event, used in K-pop; you interact with your fav idols personally, like asking them question, talking or holding hands with them, etc)

•Baby boy was really nervous to meet you, was excited and jumping out of happiness but also felt ill and restless. Just the thought of you knowing his existence was enough to send him to cloud nine.

•Blondie was slaying the “My Covenless Romance” shirt.

•Thank titan he put on his gloves today because his hands were SWEATY.

• On missions and at the coven, he was a professional at dealing with anxiousness and emotions in general; but! this is YOU who we're talking about, the (Y/N) (L/N).

• An internal mess. 🙃

• None of the training, he worked his entire life with, prepared him for such moment.

*At the day of the fan-sign*

• 30 minutes had passed and Hunter was waiting anxiously on the line. (Dude arrived very early. Told kiki to do his shift hshshshs)

• 10 minutes later, it was finally his turn!

• Approching the table, he kneeled to be eye-leveled with the first band member and talk comfortly with them.

• He had a great time chatting with each member; they answered his questions, signed his photo album, some even complimented his stunning mangenta eyes!

• Got flustered by the compliments.

• Other members were playful with him, making him play silly things like rock, papers and scissors or just patted his fluffy hair (with Hunter's permission, of course).

• You were sitted at the last end of the table, making you the last member to interact with (the best for last bestie 💅).

• The nearer he approached, the greater his nerves.

• 'Just one more member left and its my turn with (Y/N), please, don't mess things up Hunter' he thought.

•Would steal glances your way when talking to the member infront of him, he didn't meant to be rude, but you were so gorgeous up close.

(BE PREPARED FOR YOUR COLLEAGUE TO TEASE THE HELL OUT OF YOU FOR THE BOY'S ADORABLE BEHAVIOR, HECK YEAH THEY NOTICED.)

• (Y/N) waved farewell to the fan before them and patiently waited for their turn with the blonde boy that was chattering with their colleague.

• Soon enough, they sliced Hunter's album to (Y/N)'s way, meaning it was finally their turn.

• THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT, HE WAS SCREAMING INTERNALLY.

• 'OH TITAN OH TITAN OH TITAN *screams in grimwalker*'

• His cheeks and ears turning pink, pulse increasing.

• “Hey buddy! What's your name?” you smiled.

• Goldy almost passed out because of that smile.

• “H-Hunter” he stuttered 'FUCK' he mentally cursed.

• "Hunter, nice name!" you said.

•His name rolling out of your mouth has to be the best thing that has ever happened in his life.

•"Thank you" he said, feeling butterflies in his stomach.

•“So tell me Hunter, did the other members teased you out much?” You asked while signing his album. Him staring wide-eyed.

• "Uh, I saw how much they teased you and got flustered by their comments, *sigh* Ah these guys, I'm gonna punish them after this" you said in a friendly way, an adorable pout adorning your lips as you finished your statement.

• YOU WERE WATCHING HIM THIS WHOLE TIME AND WAS WILLING TO DEFEND HIM FROM THE OLDER MEMBERS??!?!!?? ...yep, this gotta be a dream, no way its real, too good to be true.

• "No, no, no! Its okay, seriously, it wasn't THAT type of teasing, but thanks for your concern" he shifted his fingers under the table.

• "Hmmmm still gonna punish them though" both chuckled.

• You looked way more softer than what you looked on stage being all badass and hot af with your guitar with a face that shouted you could dominate the world if you pleased, but what he had in front of him was just a charming, lovable young witch. UwU moment

•"Say, I gotta admit your scar its pretty cool" you said pointing your finger to your left cheek, to mimic the side where the boy's scar rested.

• Reaching out his hand to touch it, his face reddened. A tiny "thank you" leaving his mouth, showing a small smile.

•Not wanting to trigger a possible bad memory (which was lol) to the ash-blonde-haired boy, the young guitarist didn't push more into the topic, despite being curious on how he got that.

• "I was wondering, if you weren't in the bard coven, what other coven do you think you would've joined instead?" Hunter asked.

• "I'm glad you ask, no one had really made me that question, interesting, yet I do have an answer, quite an odd one to be honest" you said.

•"I probably don't look like the type, however, I would've liked joining the Emperor's Coven, seeing witches like the Golden Guard fighting and being all mighty makes me kinda jealous sometimes; I've never talked to him but he seem quite an appealing guy " (Y/n) sheepishly answered.

• Hunter.exe has stopped working.

• "Wow.. that's really shocking" forgive him for replying lamely, his poor brain was melting y your answer.

•" Hahaha, I know right?! Are you interested in a particular coven or are you already in one?" you asked.

• "ME? Of course not! I'm still checking out and making up my mind" he replied. No way he was gonna tell you he was the Golden Guard, not yet...

•" Well, if by any chance you choose Bard, we'll be waiting for ya" you winked.

• Thank titan he was already on his knees because his legs gave up.

•"Then, what got you into MCR, Hunter?" you asked

•"Definitely by the band's music, your albums and singles are amazing! OH! And your guitar's solos? ARE mind-blowing and you look so breath-taking while playing. I gotta admit, after a while I just listened to MCR albums only because of you-" he blurted out.

•'Oh shit....' both hands flew to his mouth.

• (Y/n)'s cheeks turned red.

• "I-I'm sorry, I didn't realize unt-" he said agitatedly.

•”Hey- Hey! It's okay! I really appreciate your support, I..I like it" you shyly confess.

•The manager behind you made a signal meaning time had run out.

•”Aww dang it! Time ran out, it was nice meeting you Hunter” you offered him both your hands.

•“Likewise (Y/n)” he said taking both of your hands.

• Interwining your fingers with his, earning a gasp from the magenta-eyed boy, his face and ears becoming as red as a tomato.

•'So adorable! just as I expected' you thought.

•“Let's see each other at the next fan-sign!” you said while wiggling your hands with his.

•"Yeah! Sure!" he exclaimed, letting go his hands, you gave him his album and bid farewell to each other.

• He couldn’t sleep that night, he still felt your hands grabbing his.

Summary: PART 1) Douxie is so excited that his favorite author is doing a signing at his store. Y/n can’t believe the owner of the store is thier favorite musician. But they may be more connected than they thought. (part two here)

a/n: alright ive been in love with this idea for a long time and yet im taking it at a snails pace. so im breaking it up into parts. anyways this is more or less me gushing over douxie and letting him return the favor. its a piece of love or smth idk fangirl time

It was times like these that made Douxie very happy to be a bookstore wizard. One of his favorite authors was doing a book signing for their latest release in his store. Y/n L/n, he couldn’t wait to meet you. Of course, one of the perks of his job was getting to interact with authors beyond standing in line, getting a signature in his copy, and maybe getting lucky enough to ask a question or two. He might even try his luck and see if you would agree to let him treat you to dinner afterwards. In a totally business professional fashion. Totally not just an excuse to get his fav to hang around a little longer. If you were to agree, he would not fangirl during dinner. Nope. He would be normal, Hisirdoux.

Douxie looked at the flyer that hung on the bookstore’s bulletin board.

SIGNING

5:30pm-7:00pm

Thursday 11-17-16

It was already 4:40ish and you’ll arrive in a little less than half an hour to get things settled before the event. Douxie leaned against the counter and took a deep breath. These signings were always stressful to host, and he always found himself nervous through them, even when he wasn’t also a fan. There were already people milling about the bookstore, purchasing their copies and talking amongst themselves.

Someone was messing with his cat. Doux didn’t pay too much attention to it until he heard Archie hiss and remove himself from the situation. After he watched Arch make his hasty retreat up onto a bookshelf, Douxie looked back to see the offending person guiltily mouthing a ‘sorry’ to him. Doux chuckled and made a ‘it’s fine’ gesture to reassure the poor person. It wasn’t their fault the resident cat-dragon hated being pet by randos. How were they supposed to know, all they saw was a cute and friendly bookstore cat.

The interaction with that customer did help take Douxie’s mind off of the event for a moment, but not for long. He looked around the room. Everything was mostly set up, and what was left would be things that you would do. He couldn’t help feeling like he’d forgotten something somehow. Pens? He should get you some more pens. He can’t leave his post at the counter, right now. It’ll have to wait. You probably are bringing your own pens. He just feels like he needs to do something. Another patron decided to buy a signing book from the stack. Ringing them up was something to do. Yeah. He made sure to direct them to the pad of sticky notes so they could write their info down, keeping things running smoother.

Doux glanced over to the clock on the wall for the hundredth time. A couple minutes past five… Where were you? Oh Merlin he hoped nothing bad had happened.

Nothing bad had happened. You were just very late. You were blaming it on this being a local event. Normally when your publisher sent you on signings you were in a cool city, with nowhere to be besides the event. Today, you woke up in your own bed and not a hotel room, had coffee with friends, and ran errands like it was a normal day. Your brain tricked you with familiarity. You completely forgot you had to do stuff tonight, and by the time you did remember, you were already running late.

You slipped your cheap wired earbuds in and leaned back in the uber you had to take since you missed your bus. You tried drowning out your mind, Ash Dispersal Pattern, your favorite band, blaring in your ears. Gods, your publisher was gonna kill you. Maybe you can bribe the manager of the store into not tattling. Maybe you’ll buy them dinner. That was a good plan that would probably hopefully maybe work. Uh huh.

You mouthed along to the words of the song. It wasn’t your favorite in this album, but it still made you go feral. All their songs did. The band somehow had consistently released nothing but bangers over the last decade. You are gonna be sad when they break up.

What really made the band for you was the guitarist, Hisirdoux Casperan. He was incredibly skilled, his melodies could get stuck in your head for weeks, and he also wrote all those lyrics that drove you mad? Not just an artist, but a genius, you would say. As a writer, you really appreciated the poetry he had going into these songs here. It was gorgeous and raw. Made you wonder what kind of things he could write in a love letter wink wink. And you weren’t too knowledgeable about stringed instruments, but you knew that those solos he made seem effortless were actually incredibly hard to perform. He was so good at what he did, it was obvious he loved it. He had talent, and he had passion, and it made him brilliant. And hot. Those talented hands could pluck at your heartstrings any day.

He wasn’t the lead singer, too shy maybe, but he did occasionally sing. There were around two to three songs per album that he lent his voice to, and needless to say, they were your real favorites. Casperan’s voice was that of angel. Or a siren, maybe. Either way, his voice belonged to an ethereal creature. You supposed that made him an ethereal creature. Well, as much as a mortal could be. You wished he would sing more. They were his poems, and hearing him speak the words himself just somehow made them more powerful, at least in you eyes. Or should you say ears.

And, thanks to his bandmate’s social media, you knew Mr. Casperan was easy on the eyes too. A bit of a baby face, but other than that, incredibly handsome. Fluffy hair, rough hands, hazel eyes? There may only be like four pics posted with him in them but you have stared at those pictures for hours. Not in a creepy way. In like a wow I can’t believe he exists on this planet kinda way. Okay so maybe that was a little creepy. Whatever. It’s not like that was the reason you liked him. It’s just like the first time you’ve really known what a musician looked like, and you just don’t know how to handle it like a normal human being. Thank you internet for having easily searchable pictures of every human alive now. Back in the seventies you could just be a fan of a band but manage to never see their faces. Well, technically you could do that now if you weren’t so nosy. But you were.

Funny thing, he also reminded you of a minstrel you used to listen to in the tavern back in the day. You’d wait for him to show up every night. Sadly, he didn’t stick around your town for very long, and he disappeared after only a few months. You can’t quite remember his face, and it was such a long time ago, such a short period of your life, but you still thought about the minstrel sometimes. Music was rare back then. He was special to you. Where were you going with this again? Ah, yes, you had a thing for men who wrote poetry and played stringed instruments apparently.

The uber came to a stop. An abrupt stop. You were still lost in space, so you crashed into the seat in front of you. Earbuds ripped out of your ears as you caught yourself. Fuck. The uber driver called out an apology. Regardless, you were here in front of the bookstore. The right bookstore, you double checked on your phone before gathering up your stuff and marching through the front door. Not the door you’re supposed to be going through, but you’ve got little time to be picky right now.

Douxie was almost about to call your publisher to ask if he had gotten the date wrong when you stumbled through his door. Frazzled, you quickly made your way into the store, putting your bag down on the table that wasn’t too hard to guess was designated for you. You took a moment to think oh wow that’s a nice table cloth before beginning your search for the manager. Lots of people, a dude trying to coax a cat down from one of the shelves, a couple of girls who noticed you and were not even trying to cover up that they were staring. Finally, you came to yet another person staring at you, the man behind the counter with a shaky grip on a clipboard, the manager, from the looks of it, also,, your favorite musician? Whaaaattttt. Okay maybe it’s just a guy who looks like him. He’s coming over to you. Of course he is, its his job. Oh fuck fuck. Act professional.

“Y/n L/n, right?” You nodded in response.

Nope that was definitely his voice. That was Casperan, no denying it. He presented you with his hand. You shook it. Somehow didn’t faint in the process.

“Perfect! Don’t worry too much about being late. I’ll admit I was getting a little worried- but hey! It’s all good now, love.” Douxie flashed his most reassuring smile.

Worried? That was not the word you’d have thought him to use. Annoyed, angry maybe. Not worried. Doux started helping you arrange your things on the table. As he fiddled with putting the pens in the pen cup, you made sure your notes were in the right order, and then searched through your bag for some stickers you had brought to make things a little unique. Douxie spotted the stickers in your hand.

“Oh are those for the signing?” You nodded shyly. “That’s a neat idea. I’ve never seen any authors do that before, at least not in my store.”

You finally found some words for the first time in all this, thanks to his enthusiasm. “Yeah—uh, I think it makes things special. I make the stickers myself, so they’re unique.”

“Nuclear, just when I thought you couldn’t get any more talented, huh?” You flushed at his compliment. “Uh, hey. You aren’t looking too well, are you doing alright? Are you up for this?”

“Yeah, I uh—I’m just having one of those days. It’s fine.”

Douxie grabbed a spare copy of your signing books. Or at least you thought it was a spare, but the one he presented you had been broken in, as if it was already well loved. He put on a cheeky grin.

“Here, why not try a practice run, to calm your nerves of course.”

You snorted, “Are you sure you’re not just trying to jump the line?” You teased, already scribbling down a message in the front page.

He feigned offense, clutching imaginary pearls. “Why, how could you ever accuse me of such a thing Mx. L/n. I am just a humble bookstore owner, making sure his clientele get only the best of services—”

“okay, okay.” You put the book back into his hands.

“Wait, but I never told you my—” He faltered, noticing the very long message you had written, “name.”

By ignoring his antics, you had successfully finished it before he was done talking. And that was a feat. That thing was a full-blown paragraph. Embarrassing enough, once you started, you couldn’t stop. It’s not like it was hard either, it was basically a fan-letter. You’d gone over all the things you’d tell him if you’d meet him in your mind over and over again, so writing it down was simple really.

Douxie ran his thumb over the page in his hands. Wow.

Dear Hisirdoux Casperan,

You’re amazing. You couldn’t believe how much your work inspires me. Your poems are so powerful, and make me feel less alone in the world. I admire you so much, and to have an incredibly talented person like you call me talented is unreal. And this book is definitely influenced by your music, by the way.       Love, Y/n L/n

The note was punctuated by a little sticker of a black cat holding a heart. Douxie almost choked. That at least answered why you never asked for his name. You, you thought he was amazing? And talented?

Maybe you went a little overboard by signing off with love. You don’t do that with all your other fans, they just get a yours, so you couldn’t even use that as an excuse. He still hadn’t said anything, still staring at the page. Finally, he did manage to look you in the eyes.

“I suppose this would be a good segue into asking you to join me for dinner tonight? Completely professional, of course. It’ll be late when the event is all over.” He rubbed the back of his neck.

“I was actually thinking of asking you, to apologize for being late,” you snickered.

Douxie looked pleased at that, “So it’s settled then,” he started making his way back over to the counter, before calling back over his shoulder, “And, love, you have no need to apologize, really.”

You blushed. Maybe you were a little too attached to his voice. But maybe he didn’t need to say that so flirty. And maybe you shouldn’t be going to dinner with him. But maybe you really should.

And with that, you turned your attention to your audience, ready to begin the Q & A portion of the signing. Everyone here was so enthusiastic about your work. You pointed at a person in the front row.

“Yes, you. Ask away.”

My Kylux Recs in the last year (Aug, 20 2020 - Aug 20 2021)

SO. MUCH. GOOD. FIC!!! We are really lucky in this fandom to have so much good stuff to read!

Fic is part of the lifeblood of fandom, in my opinion-it shares new ideas and AUs and fleshes out the characters and most of all it inspires and entertains us all and engenders all sorts of feels for the characters-it’s part of what keeps us shipping! So a big ‘thank you’ to all the fic authors out there who work so hard at their craft and are generous enough to share it with all of us!

The following list is by no means comprehensive-there are LOTS and lots more very good fics that have been published in the last year that I haven’t read. I just wanted to offer up a few recs from what I know I enjoyed so far! (I also have more than fits on one list to rec-I’ll try and do another list soon!) My thoughts on the rec: This is another really cute young modern AU! I like the idea that Ren has liked Hux forever, but this deals nicely with the age gap and that Hux really wouldn’t notice Ren back until they are both appropriately older. And they make such a cute couple-it’s a great progression from just ‘he’s hot’-like, there is a lot more to them than that in the end!

It’s got the modern AU vibes down pat without losing their personalities or making them too OOC, it’s got the fake-dating trope done REALLY well, it’s got a wonderful creepy vibe strung delicately throughout for the Halloween haunted setting, it’s got plot and make-outs (and more). My thoughts on the rec: Oh goodness, where to start? The Irish Mythology and Fae aspect of this fic is superbly woven throughout the whole thing and the author makes it work really well! Like, this is such a unique and original take on the kylux pair, I love them, especially Fae!Hux in this! And the plot is solid and you get invested really heavily in how they are gonna wind up-at least I did! There’s some beautiful language in this-descriptions and dialogue! And I have a soft spot for Artist!Kylo!

My thoughts on the rec: I feel like this is a very original take on ‘Senator Amidala’ Ben, at least from the stuff I’ve read-many props to the author for such a fleshed out universe, filled with likeable, believable OCs, a wonderful plot, great character motivations and voices, and a take on our main man Ben that pulled me in from the get-go! He’s sorta magnetic (in universe and to the reader)! And the sexual tension and sexy bits are very well done! I’m rooting for Ben and Hux in this, on opposites sides though they may be! Comfort Zone

My thoughts on the rec: This one is EPIC! Like, in length (which it needs every word of for the story that is going on here) and in the great portrayal of Kylo and Hux and their relationship! It’s super original too-not just the plot but the depiction of Kylo as something ‘other’ and the Southern Gothic vibes, and Hux-this is a wonderful take on Hux! He loses none of his edge, in my opinion and yet the reader is ‘with’ him all the way through, rooting for him! The descriptions are killer too-EmperorsVornskr has a felicity of expression that kept me reading (albeit in more than one sitting). Also worth noting that this is a wonderful and carefully handled depiction of trans!Hux, in my admittedly cis opinion. The theme of finding your tribe/your people/and your special someone in this, albeit in sometimes unexpected places is warming! I enjoyed every moment of this fic! Gravity Well

My thoughts on the rec: I realize this one is very well known by now, but I’ll rec it again for good reason! It’s quality long-fic! I love how competent Hux is in this surival-style fic, even without the Force to save him! And Kylo is a badass! kyluxtrashcompactor is a master of the slow burn here and we’re even lucky enough to be getting a sequel (although Gravity Well will also stand perfectly on its own). The writing in this will draw you in and not let you go!

I’m very fond of Douxie right now, and he’s still of a box full of questions, so I’ll do him! 

1) What is your favorite sport?

I’m not very much into sports actually. If I have the time, I do enjoy going down to the pool and swimming laps.

2) What is your favorite color?

To be quite honest, I’m not sure. I’m very fond of green and light blue for reasons I’m not quite sure I understand, but I do tend to wear black more than anything.

3) What is your favorite movie?

Growing up my favorite movie was The Sleeping Princess (old, but one of my mothers’s favorites) but as of right now... I’m not quite sure to be honest. I think the last movie I watched was at a premiere for work. 

4) Taken? Single?

Taken. Very much taken by Ana. You could say that I’m... taken for life? 

5) What would be your perfect day?

No work. No filming. No press events. No press tours. A breakfast at the local cafe that I’ve been dying to go to. Take Annie out. Go for a walk together. See a movie. Take her to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Grab some ice cream. Very simple, I feel.

6) Are you a night owl or an early bird?

Oh, how I would love to be a night owl. Unfortunately, my schedule at the moment doesn’t allow for me to be a night owl, so I am an early bird.

Heavens no. I barely managed to graduate high school on time. My mothers think I am, but they’re the ones who had to watch me struggle through nearly 13 years of math class.

Chocolates help. And hugs. Great big hugs never hurt.

Standing at the end of the aisle at the very least. At the most? I personally wouldn’t be opposed to some tiny little ones running around.

My dearest friend is Cody. We’ve known each other for ages and talk quite often. Our schedules are often very contradictory so we don’t see each other face to face very often, but we have a very good time when we do.

My mothers, without question. They’ve seen me through highs and lows and I honestly don’t know what I would do without them.

There’s actually a third tattoo..., it’s just hidden out of sight. It has a very important meaning to me though, which is why I got it.

I’m not sure. Annie did get me a signed copy of my favorite book last Winterfest (Watcher knows how she managed to do that, the author’s been with the Reaper for at least 30 years now), so that’s one of them I’d have to say.

Any food made by my Maman. She’s an excellent chef and anytime I’m home for dinner, is completely and utterly worth it.

My cousin being a complete bully to me.

I’m rather content in this time period. The fashion of the 17th century is nice, but I’d rather stay here. Those coats look hot.

Bucky’s eyes are never far from yours during the team breakfast, your feet intertwined under the table as you try to focus on eating some food. You were managing well enough until he grabs a plum from the fruit basket and bites into its juicy flesh. You watch as a drop of the sweet nectar drips down the side of his lip and over his chin. His tongue darts out and over his bottom lip, licking the juice off his beard. Your foot stills under the table and your lips part as you suck in a breath.

He immediately notices the shift in your demeanor, a small smirk playing on his lips as he takes another bite. With his eyes fixed on you he continues to eat the plum, sucking on the tender flesh and licking every drop of juice from around his mouth.

You suddenly stand, excusing yourself with a quiet mumble and run back to your room. Shutting the door, you lean against it, finally exhaling that breath. “Fuck,” you murmur, inwardly cursing Bucky’s name. He knew he was torturing you.

You don’t even make it 5 steps before your door swings open and Bucky stalks in. Slamming it behind him, he asks, “where did you run off to, doll?” You turn around, a finger pointed at his chest, “don’t doll me! You know exactly what you’re doing!”

He walks back toward the door, pressing your body against it, his lips never leaving your skin. Been inhaling Tabula Rasa by Mussimm -- *super* painful (but getting better?) - probably should read The Sandford Flower Show first - which starts off with some flashbacks to biblical times and a powerful angel and you’re like, hm, wonder how this will fit in with the story of pine-tree demon taking the angel to a flower show? And like then it just, scoops your insides out.

Under Construction(human AU) by SummerofSpock - Crowley comes to an Oregon town to sell his uncle’s lodge and meets the handyman working there. I was drawn in by the fact I used to live in OR, and have stayed for a very engaging snake and lumberjack-Aziraphale. Inspired these super illustrations by sungmee. Also recommend Car Trouble by same author for sexy times, tough times, and a surprizing (brief but touching?) rendition of Ineffable Bureaucracy.  

Petrichor & Parchment (Human AU) by MrsNoggin - one of those can’t-get-them-out-of-my-head fics, but due to sweetness and light (and sexy results), not the normal heavy stuff that lodges in my heart. I def reread when I can’t sleep. Crowley with flower tattoos, the Them as his landscaping crew! Aziraphale fixing books. AND now a podfic by Literarion

Pretend for Me (fake marriage) by lollypopcop (who I think said they won't be updating again for quite some time - but it did just reach a very important and satisfying spot!) Good Omens has made me read tropes I never thought I’d be into and I, like, throw all eggs in basket and jump over the edge being like “what parachute??” Crowley in this is *uggg* soo well portrayed. Here is a scene drawn by Whiteley Foster.      

Unlucky Omens by HolyCatsAndRabbits - it's like watching a film. Human AU with Crowley as the unluckiest human alive and Aziraphale as his Guardian Angel who doesn’t show up until he’s 48. Cinematic rollercoaster, and their genderfluid Ace Dagon is super cool!  

dearly beloved by mutalune - (not fake marriage) - “The thing is, it’s been six thousand years. Six thousand fucking years. Crowley has spent six bloody thousand fucking years loving Aziraphale,” - starting line - and it just gets better. Chapter 4: “ in which crowley and newt bro it up and gush over their significant others “ is one of my fav chapters of anything ever. I can re-read it forever. ALSO listened to StarcatcherBetty’s podfic while shopping a number of times = makes time fly!

Closed Set by racketghost - Ah, a retelling of the classic 2008 romcom Zack and Miri Make a Porno -- but with DEEEP ANGST and the threat of annihilation (the first tag is “fuck or die”) and YOU WILL NEVER LOOK AT TOOTHBRUSHES THE SAME AGAIN I SWEAR!!! (Honestly you had me at the CW: imperfect sex) 

It's Not The Years, It's The Mileage by MovesLikeBucky - JUST COMPLETE! Indiana Jones / Raiders of the Lost Ark retelling - but not a Human AU. I felt like I was reading an Elizabeth Peters novel (which - ooh - files that idea away). Adventures! Footnotes! Tender moments! Also a warning for animal death (but the animal works for the Nazis sooo..)  

Shotgun Wedding: sometimes a first date requires paperwork (Human AU) by charlottemadison - Aw mah gawd. Found this fic through peoples screamings on FB (left my first comment on 3/16 - just checked). Started reading being like, “great characters, oh I like the Adam / Crowley relationship. Ooh a teacher Aziraphale. Oh Adam has health issues. : ( ”... lots of things to be interested. How. Was I. To know. The characters speak - they have such distinct voices. There are love letters and, just like real life, how a person comes across in the written form is different than how they come across in their heads, or as perceived by others, or how they speak... or TEXTS! yeah i have actually!! i was in london when she did a panel back in 2018 (almost 3 years! what the fuck) so i dragged my friends there and have a little chat at the signing table :)  i was very nervous and didnt know what to say At All so i just rambled a bit and my mum made me take a pic whcih i profusely apologised for lol

The "A" in "Normal" by Yesitstyles - i originally read this fic for the asexuality aspect of it and it was only the second stylinshaw fic i’ve ever read and omg i love it so much. it’s such a great fic for the ace and aro chat and discussion and representation, but also the STYLINSHAW ASPECT IS JUST SO GREAT like i cannot even... it’s just so great. i love it very much a lot.

You're a Rabbit, Louis series by @magicalrocketships / sunsetmog - oh my worddddd listen. sunsetmog is amazing with every single one of their fics, but this one is one i think of often. it’s so crack fic-y but also is so pure? lol maybe pure is the wrong word with the second fic too, but it’s just so great and the dynamic is brilliantly written. it’s amazing and incredible and i love it very much a lot.

Perfect Sky by twoshipsdrifting - i was whining to @londonfoginacup one day about how i needed more stylinshaw in my life and she was like “have you read the really sad sub pair fic?” i had NOT and was defo up for some angst, so i said send it my way. harry and louis are a sub pair and nick is their dom and so many mistakes are made and misunderstandings and it is so sad but the hurt/comfort is glorious and wonderful. so if you are up for hurting a little bit, this is a fab read lol

Orion's Belt by @londonfoginacup / LadyLondonderry - a/b/o stylinshaw!!! soulmates!!! harry learning he has VERY WELL KNOWN older soulmates! alpha louis, beta nick, omega harry. oh gosh oh gosh this fic is legit one of my favorite of all of emmu’s fics, and that’s saying a lot because i love her fics. the established tomlinshaw, trying to find the right fit for harry with them, insecurity on all of their parts about themselves??? I LOVE IT SO MUCH OKAY

old haunts are for forgotten ghosts by @fortymaliks / fortymaliks - this was actually the very first stylinshaw fic i ever read lol i still didn’t completely understand ao3 and tags and had no idea what i was getting into but it was WONDERFUL. amnesia! at the time it was also a future fic? somewhat canon compliant (turned out to be far more canon compliant than we ever could have known lol 2016 meaning the band was on hiatus and nick still doing the breakfast show? wild!), but louis wakes up and doesn’t remember nick becoming a part of their relationship and OHHHH THE ANGST THE PAIN!!! i love the way they work through it all. so wonderful.

Trinity's Fate by anonymous - i feel fairly certain when i first read this fic it wasn’t on anonymous, but that’s okay lol i hope the author knows how much i adore the fic anyway. this one is another soulmates fic! but it’s got another twist to it other than just polyamory haha it’s dom/sub soulmates. at 16 you learn if you’re a dom or a sub and then at 18 you learn who your soulmate is. louis is a sub and has been dreading learning who his dom is only to learn he has two, and they’re the fairly well known radio 1 djs harry and nick. EEEEEEE i love the world building and it’s just such a fascinating story altogether. so so so amazing.

The Only Thing That Keeps Me Grounded - this is one of my favorite fics i’ve ever written ever. established tomlinshaw, nanny harry meets them and falls for both over time. it’s a bit of a sexuality crisis and dealing with that as well as navigating everything, and i love it so very much a lot. i hope you give it a try and like it too.

Loving You's the Antidote - this one i wrote for the @finelineficfest and is based off of golden! established gryles, omega harry has a medical condition that is dangerous and needs to have regular touch from an alpha, which is unfortunate since his mate is a beta. enter alpha louis. :D i loved writing this fic  too, the characters are all so dear to me hehe i hope you like them too!

2) what work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing?

patchwork, hands down. what a shitshow lmao

4) favorite character you’ve written

mmmm even though patchwork Bad, boko and sunlight were two of my favs for very similar reasons. theyre fun to write imo. outside of the pw realm, maybe dana? or… dana as she appears in eight adapts, is a better way to say it. (patchwork Bad)

11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?

i guess grammar… maybe pacing? and characterization, to a lesser degree. 

12) your weaknesses as an author

i feel like my word choice is often kind of odd? not odd in a quirky cool way but odd in the way that optical illusion of obama is where his eyes are flipped upside down and you cant quite figure out whats wrong with it. i also notice my stuff is often incredibly dialogue-heavy and im bad at dealing with especially heavy scenes. or… i can write my way into a heavy scene but im emotional constipation squared so im really bad at digging my way out of it. again with word choice, its bland and i find myself reusing the same actions over and over again. im trying to fix that but…

im scared im also just recycling the same plotthreads over and over again, if that makes sense? or just reusing the same personality for all characters, leading to them seeming especially 1d. im sure they already seem one-dimensional but i doubt the lack of variety is really helping much.

im bad at thinking of beginnings and endings to a chapter due to my writing style of Chunks.  i think in a chapter those are my two weakest parts

im sure the plots of chapters ive written seem kinda flimsy or “saved by an ungodly amount of coincidence!” which again isnt great. anyone with more critical thinking skills than a box of crayons can probably tear apart works ive made to shreds in seconds.

and i think that my plots are sort of recycled a lot as well, only within the story. a character will develop and then cycle back to square one all over again.

i fear im not creative either and that im simply just stealing from more successful people. eight adapts is really just a glorified op24 knockoff tbqh, im surprised at the reception its gotten. i think its sort of undeserved.

grammar is another thing i struggle with despite being a native english speaker and a monolingual one at that. my grammar is good enough to get by but there are mistakes there that i shouldnt be making if i ever want to actually go anywhere with writing which, again, i doubt i will. you really just have to be the best at something to make it anywhere in an art field, you know? its a silly dream for me. ive never taken a writing class and i cant meet deadlines worth shit (which you all know). everything ive learned is just self-taught since i can count the amount of friends i have on my nipples and i dont want to annoy them more than i really do. its a hobby and a way for me to just fantasize and vent really.

OH ACTUALLY THAT LEADS ME TO A NEW POINT w similar chars. i just project super hard onto them. im sure they seem immature because of that. it doesnt matter how mature i THINK i am, im really still 16 and i dont know much about the world at all. another thing to add on the “horrible at dealing with emotions” list i guess. you should write off experience, i guess, which i do, kind of. but all of the romantic happy bits are just hopeless fantasy. i dont see them getting any better nor do i see myself ever dating anyone. im kind of a mess you see but at least ill have more time to write barely decent fics about homosexual squids.

i dont know. i dont think im a bad writer, but im nowhere near good. im just decent. thats all.

13) your strengths as an author

im scared of really saying anything here because no matter what i think im good at theres going to be someone better than me, you know? theres no point in claiming youre good at something unless youre the best, otherwise youll just be getting peoples hopes up.

if i had to choose, i think dialogue, but only about 55% of it. humor to a much lesser degree since im not really that funny but its one of the few parts of my writing i can sort of tolerate.

Hey! I loved your fic "If I Had My Time Again" and I'm challenging myself to ask my fav authors questions from WyseInk's "10 questions every fic writer secretly wants to be asked" So here it goes! 7. Who was your favourite character to write? 4. If you could change anything in "If I Had...", what would it be?and 10. What are some facts readers may not know about the fic?

ahhh oh my gosh!!! /o\ this is so nice. thanks so much!

- fav character to write in “if i had my time again” > well, obviously lance. he’s my favorite character on the show and i relate a lot to him. writing about his confusion and feelings and all is, well, very important to me and i am glad that lance was the one who voiced it all. 

- if i could change anything in the fic, what would it be > …….. ummmm. give me adam’s canon last name and i’d be happy, tbh. the only thing i’d like to change is to make the fic longer. simple as that. especially lance’s time at college and meetings with keith. more flashbacks. more slow burn, ya know? :D

- some facts readers may not know about the fic > oh this is fun. SPOILERS. when lance wakes up in this alternate reality where his 16-year-old-self and keith are a couple, well, keith had a similar “trip” to an alternate reality that night but it was the worst. they weren’t friends there.  also lance told keith about it and they recreated the quiz/bed scene and it was actually pretty cute, idk why i cut it. also i planned another trip to another reality where lance landed in the canon voltron verse, lmao. but that was too crack!fic-like. oh and i hope everyone got the game of thrones reference…lance called keith “bastard” in the beginning and lotor “joffrey” so there you already have the paternity plot.
