ouaw ep 45 spoilers - talking about Kremy's spirituality

something about Kremy saying "And I believe in the Baron, that's why made the deals I did. Because when I die I want to have a good time too." absolutely shattered me.

I'm projecting here but why is that sentiment all too familiar? That nasty feeling you sometimes get when you're really struggling and that maybe once you're on the other side it'll all be better, struggles gone, a reward for all you've been through. Out of all the party members and generally out of everything, I never thought to consider Kremy as a genuinely religious/spiritual but it makes sense. "When I die I want to have a good time too" is so heartbreaking, just thinking what is behind that, how much he must have and still is struggling, how difficult things are for him and yet he has these beliefs, he has, deep down, compassion for himself and so refuses to abandon hope. He believes in himself, that he'll do good enough, that him trying his best will grant him the grace of being a part of the Baron's eternal celebration.

Like I never thought I'd see religious trauma in Kremy, which in hindsight is really stupid because it genuinely is right there in his backstory and Garou and you just need to stop to consider it and yeah,,,,

*intense projecting* but I was raised rather strictly christian, I have a lot of luggage from that, but I've found my path and calling in being pagan, norse pagan exactly, and the way Kremy spoke about the Baron somehow really resonated with me and my beliefs of Valhalla. And also wanting to fight with and for Odin once Ragnarok comes, which others may consider idk gruesome or sth, it's not an eternal bliss like in others religions, and so the element of Kremy talking about how being turned into swap spirits or sth maybe isn't the worst, reminded me of that as well.

Idk his story to the statue really gave me a lot to think about. Also I feel like we (in the fandom space from what I've seen) don't talk at all about Kremy's spiritual side?? I think we should, I think it's such an important and interesting part of his character!!

A Familial Affair...

Posting the stills below plus some explanations for how I interpreted Frost and Gricko's families!

For Gricko's family, his mother is to his right while his father and uncle Glorbo are below him (left to right). There is not that much physical description about them (that I can recall), other than Gricko being a clear spitting image of his dad. So, I took the liberty to designing them with inspirations of heavy metal styles since Gricko was based on Nicko McBrain (from Iron maiden), Kinda headcanoned that his mom and uncle were related when designing them as well, which story-wise can then explain why Gricko was closer to his uncle with his dad being absent (though such detail likely may also be a jokey moment between the players). Given that they were likely beast masters as well, I followed Gricko's outfit design on them, with his dad even getting the outfit from his old canon design.

For Frost's family, his is mom to his left and dad to his right. There was also not that much physical descriptions regarding them aside from being farmers (?). Not to mention, Frost did not have that much memory about them after the events of the mushroom tea drinking ep so details are more sparse. Though from how they were described as being lovely and caring parents, I drew them to look somewhat serious still to evoke some of that elder authority. Their clothing was loosely based on several Korean/Chinese clothing that I've accumulated from doing design research but nothing specific that I would denote off.

Also side note, I was kinda bummered out that Frost and Gricko did not appear in each other's sections. Frosty still had two blank portraits wdym gricko and hootsie did not appear there :(((

I'm on ep 39 of ouaw and I'd like to offer you Gideon holding Kremy back from feeding Frost to the shadow magic, because Frosty said that Kremy should just buy a new hat rather than get his back from the hag

Kremy picked up most of his personality from Garou. He abandoned whatever he was like before in favour of being someone who walks and talks like he's all powerful, because maybe it'll be true if he does. Maybe he'll get rich and gain enough authority that he can have his hearts desires and never have to run again.

But, when he separated himself from Garou he realized he doesn't know who the fuck he is. Even in private when he isn't performing for anyone, he looks at himself and the mask is all he sees. Any piece of Kremy Lecroux; child from Whippoorwallow was removed with a surgical precision and tossed out years ago, carefully replaced with Kremy Lecroux; Diligent Assistant of Remy Garou.

What is he now? Just. "Kremy Lecroux"?

Does he have any opinions on things that aren't a carefully calculated lie?

Gideon asked him what his favourite colour was, just a fun little question to get to know each other. Gideon liked blue, oddly enough. Kremy said purple, and gestured to his suit.

That wasn't even true. It's a nice colour. Easy on the eyes, shows off wealth, goes good with green. It's not his favourite.

Does he have favourite?

He used to have a favourite.

Actually yknow what, Kremy calling Gideon “Gideon Nathaniel Coal” whenever he’s pissed and going Annoyed Housewife Mode made me consider something

1) How did Kremy learn Gideon’s middle name? Like, sure, it might’ve just come up in conversation, but like…would it? How many times do you introduce yourself to someone using your full legal name? I imagine it’s almost never, not in a casual sense.

2) Did Gideon even HAVE a middle name beforehand? I mean, not everyone does, and I doubt his Pa would’ve thought up a middle name. If the answer is no, then either;

A: Gideon chose to give himself a middle name to remember his Pa (idk if we ever got an actual name for his Pa or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case)

Or

B: the infinitely funnier option, which is that Kremy just chose a random ass middle name to use for Gideon the first time this has happened (bc based on Gideons reaction on the first time we heard Kremy use Gids full name, this is probably not the first time Jremy has done this), and ir just kinda stuck
