Day 547
While I had mentioned last year that I would not be doing New Year's resolutions, if I had one, it would be to get my life in order.
This month’s task was to finally get my ‘file box’ into order. The box where I had dumped all my paper bills, bank statements, insurance statements and income tax stuff over the years. Among other things…
I was told by my mom, once upon a time, well over a decade ago when I was a mere undergrad, that you had to keep all your documents for seven years in case you were audited. Here’s the thing though, it’s one thing to tell your offspring that they have to keep their documents for seven years, it’s another to actually do it.
Even back then, I had always wondered (back before digital statements were common and paper copies reigned supreme) where anyone found the space to keep seven years worth of documents. Like all your bank statements, energy bills, water bills, other bills, and if you had a medical condition that required medical supplies you had to keep that too.
In fact an unspoken rule, but one that just made sense to me was that I would be keeping permanently any documents that noted my contract with a bank, insurance or government social program.
And that’s a lot of paper.
A lot of paper that undergrad me was given without being told or given the tools to keep properly. Mom did help, she put all my income tax stuff into duotangs for me, but I didn’t really have a place to keep them, nor any tools to organize it with. So, a friend of mine gave me my file box that could hold hanging folders inside. It sounded like a great idea except…
Undergrad me was far more disorganized than I am now, and that’s saying something.
I tried… I really did. Paperclipped stacks of papers according to year together and putting them away, but it was messy and hard for me to find what I was looking for. So, I ordered my own duotangs and today began sorting, hole punching and putting away papers into their proper places.
The file box had been culled about two weeks previous, so there weren't as many papers (but still so many…). The result was satisfying, even if it took longer than I had expected, but it’s done now and that is one more thing to strike off the list.
Hopefully, with the leftover duotangs it’ll stay organized from now on.

small update
ok so um I got my number theory paper today, and the TA had cut marks for me because i left the answer at 66^2 and not 4356 (fermat's little theorem) 😔 I even wrote the full proof
my friend told me I should mail the TA about this, I got 14/20 and should be getting 17or18/20 😔
scores aside, number theory is so much fun, so much fun. the only good thing here is that I know the concepts well, and I fully knew the paper (still fucked it up, because I'm so frickin slow while writing and time). and it hurts worse because there's not enough proof that validates my knowledge. which in turn makes me question if i actually do have any.
I am, in general, a person who does well in concepts but screws up the exams (70% of the time) and I'm trying, I'm trying to get myself out of this "exam paniK" that I often spiral into, just minutes before the exam. I hope I change and grow; I hope, I hope.

You listen to the podcast. Youre like ough that was so good oh my god theres a 2nd season? You listen to that one. Aww the home base is the pyramid from the pervious season thats so cute! its upside down now in a way thats so representative of what this seasons about and its a cute hint to the plot twist! Aww the weird yucky needles are a reference and evolution from tower of terry arc thats cool i wonder how theyll be used! Hmm i guess ? Everythings too busy for them to remember that gimmick and its also just not very practical i guess. What the fuck whys the dragon collar shit back, what. So He Just Got All 6 Collars Off Screen Perfectly? And He Got To Put Them All On Off Screen? **And Some Stupid Leather Collars Able To Contain Eldritch Chaos** ? Hey guys im beginning to think that these arent cute references that add to the story but in fact perhaps to the detriment to the world building while derivative and contrived for the narrative
