random headcanon: This headcanon is like, so deep into my personal GF characterization/ fuckin'. AU. If you wanna call it that atp. BUT ANYWAYS. Fuck this is gonna need quick background hold on. The canon explanation for her looking human iirc is literally just "true love" or whatever tf. But that's not as fun to play with. So instead I like to write her as being ashamed of being a demon, especially because of her parents' actions, so she masks her demon traits. And she reaaaalllly does not like letting them slip through, especially around a specific person (this is foreshadowing for something idek if I'll get to any time soon Sorry). BUT! She is on a limit for how long she can hide her demon traits until doing so starts to hurt her, either through draining her energy or like, it causing physical damage to continue hiding parts of her. And while she trusts Pico & BF, she's still got shit that she's just. Not. Sorting out. So when she feels she's about to reach a limit with it she locks herself away to rest until she's well enough to continue like normal. Girlie No (guy who is writing her to do this) (don't worry I'm going to also write her getting better abt this) I'm gonna eventually have to make a "Karl's Personal FNF Demon World Building" master-post or whatever just cuz this shit is so fun for me to work with Idk.

Okay, here we go, time to answer questions about this glorious asshole.

Why I like them/why I don’t

The trope of the stupid chaotic genius with no agenda except his own is a trope that works wonders on me, and Seto Kaiba fits the bill so perfectly. I like him for that. I like his ego and his chaos and his genius, his crazy technology and the way he is here exactly at the right time to trigger stupid events.

But it also annoys me so much. SO MUCH. Listen, I used to be a Kaiba-girl (although my fave has always been, and still is, Mokuba), but I'm back from it. Dude's everywhere. I'm tired of him. I'm tired of reading about him. I'm tired of him being an asshole to everyone, tsundere sometimes but most often not. He is an edgy teenager with a LOT of money and a LOT of intellect to twist the world the way he wants it to look. I can respect that. I am just tired of him.

I think what I like most of him remains his relationship with his brother. OK, and his extraness. I admit it amuses me.

What I like about their appearance

Physical appearance? THE COAT. That stupid, over the top white coat. The fact that a 16 year-old kid thought "I need to find a way to make myself bigger" and came up with THIS. Overall, his character design is awesome too. Those blue eyes and those muscles and those neverending legs, man. I may not be fond of him, but I have eyes.

Not sure if it counts as "appearance", but he is the only character whose US voice I LOVE. Like, really. I don't care about the US dub, but Kaiba's voice in it? It's one of the cornerstones of my childhood. And it wasn't even the version we had on TV in France. I just watched a painfully downloaded very pixelated version of Pyramid of Light in English, because that was all I could find, and suddenly... that was him. That was Seto Kaiba in my ears, better than the French version. I've never come back from it. I love his VA.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?

Does not apply! But as I said above, it's the only character whose characterisation I love almost more in English than in Japanese. Maybe it counts as "I prefer dub".

OTP

This one's hard. I used to be a HUGE Silentshipper when I was a teen (that's Seto/Serenity) and then evolved to the obvious Puppyshipping (honestly, I think I leaned towards it even when I was silentshipping.) It's only "recently" (understand: around 2019) that I discovered that Prideshipping had a huge appeal. Some people have also brought Rivalshipping to my attention and I see the merit of it. I like Trustshipping too (that's Isis Ishtar/Seto Kaiba), they would kill each other. A real OTP for Kaiba though? None exactly. Seto Kaiba/his ego is well enough. (I do enjoy Priest Seth/Kisara a lot because of course I do, and if we REALLY want to enter funky territory, Priest Seth/Seto is always fun.)

But if I really really have to choose something, well. Let's go with Prideshipping; it's the safest bet IMO.

NOTP

Eeeeeehhh most of them? Seriously it's hard to say, on the one hand I'm a huge multishipper and you can sell me any ship if you explain it well. On the other hand, I don't want to subject anyone to a romance with Seto Kaiba. That said, I've discovered that Adoptshipping is a thing, Gozaburo/Seto: let's go with this, that's one hell of a NOTP.

Priest Seth / Seto Kaiba / Mahad. Think of it. You're welcome.

Seriously, I don't even think this ship has a name. It's a mix of Stoicshipping and Headdresshipping. My proposal is Denileshipping because it's by the Nile and they're all in denial, Mahad and Seth about the fact that they actually enjoy each other's company, and Seto about the fact that they are real people who are closer to Atem than he is, and not weird hocus-pocus pretend memories. And they do real magic. Kaiba, please. Can't say there's a lot of content about it but seriously: THINK OF IT. And I think if you add Atem in the equation you get a nice OT4—and a nice amount of chaos.

Favourite card they use

Okay so bear with me because I actually can't remember which decks are canon in the anime/in the manga, mostly because I have his Duel Links deck in mind. I really love Maiden with Eyes of Blue because not only it's an incredibly pretty card made to bring Kisara to mind, but it's also quite useful imo since it's a nice shortcut to bringing a BEWD on the field during the first or second turn. Pair it with White Stone of the Ancient and a good skill, and turn 3 or 4 you get your Twin-burst BEWD. And seriously, these cards are so pretty, and prove that sometimes, even Kaiba can have good taste.

Favourite moment they were in

Oh god the moment when Mokuba jumps in his arms at the end of Duelist Kingdom.

It's tied with the moment when he pairs up in a nice tsundere way with Yami during Battle City, and a very special mention to DSOD and THE SPACE ELEVATOR that had me in tears the first time I watched it. Physics whomst.

Least favourite moment

See, for all I dislike this idiot, I have a hard time pinpointing a specific moment when I actually wanted to tear his hair off and nail it back on his head with rusty nails and lemon juice. He is annoying and odious, but I tend to like the dynamic he brings with him. Even when he threatens to kill himself so as not to lose a duel, or when he belittles everyone in the team, or when he is so focused on Atem that he forgets EVERYONE ELSE IS LITERALLY HERE? He's annoying, but I like these moments.

Would I fuck, marry or kill them

Kill. Killkillkillkillkill. Sorry but if the alternatives are fuck and marry, I don't hesitate for a second. But also, not too sorry: I mean, it's not like he needs my help for it anyway. He apparently does it very well by himself if the general reading of the end of DSOD is accurate.

Bottom line:

It's not really obvious, but for all the annoyance Seto Kaiba awakens in me, I actually like his character. To me, he is clearly one of those who have the MOST OBVIOUS development, if not THE one. His goals are clear, he asserts his selfishness and he learns to be evil for his own profit, but not to make people suffer. Also, Kaibaland for young kids? Okay, maybe I love him a little for that. And the whole technological miracles to enhance a card game are very very refreshing in a world when technological miracles usually come from the army. Thank you, Kaiba, for destroying the laws of physics and going all quantic with your virtual stuff just for the sake of a card game you're not even really good at. Kudos. The next generations will be grateful well most of them, who didn't have said card game ruin their existence and the balance of their entire society.

Seto Kaiba is an insufferable, proud asshole, but he has every reason to be. I can forgive him. Still not enough to fuck or marry, though.

I’m Supermonaman from AO3 & I had a question about ships I think it’s clear that bumblebee is your favorite ship but what are 5 other ships you love if you don’t mind answering? Also what is your opinion/what do you think about the Sunnybees or Blake/Yang/Sun? It’s a guilty pleasure ship/crack ship I love that I think makes sense/works in my mind it’s similar to the Weiss/Blake/Yang in some ways.

I certainly do not mind answering! I thought about writing this out as a list of five and like, that sort of falsely put everything on the same level in a way that didn't reflect my feelings, so.

We must begin with Nuts and Dolts. Honestly this might be my All Time RWBY Ship in terms of like-- the scope! the themes! the longing! the intimacy the belonging the SCALE of it the TRAGEDY of it!! THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS THE SPINE OF THE WHOLE SERIES. But also like, while it's So Big it's also so terribly small, so dependent on the smallest and most innocent moments and touches. I haven't had the ambition to tackle them the way they deserve to be written about but oh my god, iconic sensational perfect I have no words they are SO IMPORTANT

I adore Renora, and while I've rarely sought it out I'm very intrigued by every permutation and side-leg of the Weiss/Pyrrha/Jaune polycule. No polycule will ever do it as hard as whatever the fuck STR had going on bless their unhinged souls and bless Qrow for mostly staying out of it; Seamonkeys are delightful though I rarely seek them out on their own. I am an Emerald/Ilia truther and I am certain that as soon as they meet in canon it's going to be OVER FOR ALL OF US, just you wait. Oh, and of course add full JNPR polycule and the Happy Huntresses group marriage to my list can you see I hate choosing and love togetherness

Which brings me to your final question! I don't ship any bees poly ship as much as I ship the two of them with each other, but you're very right about Sun and Weiss having very similar "beekeeper" energy. This is why my bee's schnees tag has always been "ot3: the parent trap" because my primary conception of their dynamic will always be 'weiss is on the outside looking in and trying to curate and help, and little does she know she's not nearly as subtle as she thinks she is and also they're noticing her right back.' I generally tend to think of Weiss as aromantic and more looking for Her People than she is looking for partners, which I think comes across pretty strongly in Newsbees AU-- a world in which Blake and Yang would JUMP at the chance to give Weiss her first kiss if only she'd ask them and meanwhile she's got a spray bottle on hand to make sure they don't. but who am i to turn down monochrome braintrust or freezerburn divorce?

as for sunnybees, I'm particularly partial to it in terms of like Blake's Beacon Daydreams when she just. lets herself have fun and be a person and experience desire in the theater of her own mind, even if she's not quite brave or secure enough to try and act on it in reality. I don't tend to think of Yang as someone who's attracted to dude-identified people, so that one is more of a "Blake has two hands" situation regardless of timing than it is a fully-balanced equilateral triangle (at least in my heart of hearts).

Oof, I’m gonna give you guys TMI, my nana passed away this August, on a Sunday evening. So two weeks after that, on a Sunday, thick in the throes of my grief, I sat down and wrote The Monster In Her Mind. Seven hours and almost ten thousand words, it’s the most cathartic experience I’ve ever had. (Sorry Elena baby ❤️)

Klaus (but I’m getting better at writing him) - he has so many motivations at the same time! Plus, he’s incredibly unaware of the true cause of his own actions sometimes, so it can be a bit difficult to get into his thought process.

Lucemond (Lucerys/Aemond). Hopefully I’ll have time next year to do so! There’s so much to unpack there!

(She’s learnt a long time ago that pursed lips, and downturned eyes garner far more sympathy than a sharp tongue.) It’s in the faces of all the men who love her and hate Katherine - believing Elena to be toothless, to think that because her teeth aren’t fangs, she won’t sink them in their throats and possess them. It’s the first mistake they make, she thinks, trusting her soft demeanour as they ignore the knifes she’s sharpened her nails into. They’re all so wrapped up in the beauty, they don’t realise how dangerous high school girls really are.

Biggest surprise while writing this year?

That I’m somewhat good at it 🥴 I had a writers block till 2021, of almost six years, and I was convinced that I was a terrible writer and that I’d never be able to write again. I’ve honestly put in a lot of effort to improve my writing and trust my gut and I hope I can continue evolving. I’ve had big, big help from @sevensistersofsussex @qvnthesia @amandamonroe @feralcherry @jennifersminds (honestly the biggest reason my writing is more poetic now is cause I read her works!) @kaizsche.

Ot3 fake-dating fanfic idea:

Your main character has a top secret job that they have to travel a lot for - when asked by their date why they had to leave in a hurry, in a panic they said it's because they're actually poly/ in an open relationship and have to go home to their partner. They don't expect to get a second date after that, but lo and behold actually the date calls back and over time they get into a mostly long-distance relationship - in which the lies about their 'other relationship' quickly pile up...

Now the date wants to meet the other partner, maybe because the main character made them seem much too nice - and now they have to pretend to be in a relationship with their co-worker....

.....that being said, ryomina also happens to be one of the very few tags i have blacklisted on tumblr dskhld the ryominas are just too prolific. every other p3 post i see is about these bitches (affectionate) i see cool art of minato and thanatos and think ooh this fucks and then i see the tags and discover that it's also meant to be ryomina and i'm like aw man. the protagonists together! i see a lot of matching art of them but i don't really see them actually being together often. i love to see them all hanging out i think they should all be bestest friends. as an extension of this, i also want to see more bankita of course. and more specifically of minato and minako together, especially as twins because that's my jam

more art of minato and thanatos that isn't meant to be ryomina akjds i don't say this to be hostile i just think thanatos's design fucks and i want to be able to interact with art of him without encroaching into a space i don't belong

bankita! bankita forever raaaaaah! they make me craaaaazy send help. i think i've probably already said everything i need to say about them multiple times over but i just really like them a whole lot. i've even started to drift away from souyo, which was my main ship involving yu, in favor of this one. it's also my only ship involving minato who is my favorite so i guess it gets priority dfkljhd

i'm also quite fond of akishinji, and it's even better if you throw minako in the mix! it's not an ot3 i was expecting to have, but her romance routes with both of them are really sweet and i already shipped them together, so. i was happy to find that there's at least a few other people out there who ship them too!

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)

i'm not really aggressive about my headcanons dhkld they're headcanons for a reason. that being said i guess i did try to start a fight with p3re's first cutscene for making a minor change to minato's reaction to the dark hour which didn't work as well with my headcanon that he believes the dark hour to be a series of hallucinations and nightmares. he does actually have recurring nightmares too, the dark hour just doesn't happen to be one of them. i'm writing a whole fic about this, please wait warmly.

this one isn't quite as perfect as some other kairiki bear songs like heart nonsense and batten but i will say it's very baby minato core. to me. i dunno i think a lot about how none of his relatives ever wanted to keep him for very long and what that must have been like for him as a little kid. more thoughts about this will also appear in the aforementioned fic!

How many works do you have on AO3?

Currently 282, also some of them are collection of drabbles and smaller fics, sometimes in 40+ parts, so if we count them separately… it’ll be A Lot

What’s your total AO3 word count?

Uhhh ficbook don’t have statistic like this, but my estimate will be like, 500k words, maybe a little more

What fandoms do you write for?

Any that gets my attention. I wrote a lot for Doctor Who and B:tVS when I was younger, then I had a great run in russian fandoms, most notable are Gogol: the Beginning and Major Grom: Plague Doctor. I’m dabbling into GO now, but, like, there’s already so much fics so I’m content with reading and not writing

What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Тепло (Warmth) — 2600 kudos, marvel, Steve/Bucky. It’s stupid drabble that gets so popular literally because it’s big fandom and popular pairing, no real value there Уроки рис��вания (Painting lessons) — 1629 kudos. Again, Steve/Bucky and no great value Мгчд: драбблы (collection of drabbles, Major Grom: Plague Doctor) — 1617 kudos. Ohh this one is good! There’s 74 drabbles and counting, all written at last two years, mostly polyamory and/or family gen. Most popular one there is one where orphan (now 30 y.o. man) discuss with his boyfriend’s quasi-mother things like fighting for his inheritance in court with some distant relatives. People are yearning for mundane stuff I swear Catch a cold — 1398 kudos, Flash (TV), gen about sick Flash being comforted by his archenemy, honestly again not really great stuff that get big because of fandom’s popularity да, со мной непросто (I’m not easy*) — 1390 kudos, Major Grom: Plague Doctor. Ohhh I love thos one! It’s about my ot3, where A and B are estabilished pair and C is their new lover and he’s insecure and they use sex as a means to show him that he’s ~their~. Slightly D/s if you squint. Also with ADORABLE illustrations by nice people!!

Uhhhh. I rarely write angst honestly, and I prefer open or bittersweet endings, I’m not even sure I have something that counts as angsty ending

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Almost every one of mine are happy ones. Uhhh can it be «о��щественное мнение» (public opinion). It’s absolutely self indulgent fluff about character A rescuing B from some trouble and being all doting in public etc, and in the end everyone at B’s work knows that he’s in relationship and supports him, and even OC kidnapped by maniac for plot points escapes and found alive

Do you get hate on fics?

No not really. Some funny comments there or there, but not real hate

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Oh, A LOT. Mostly it’s kinky shit, bdsm etc. Mostly ot3 and mostly slash althrough I have some het and a liiiittle of fem. I almost never write extrime stuff, I have like one? non-con and couple dubcon things, but I really want to write more

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Rarely and mostly it’s crossovers of the kind that fandom already counts as semi-canon (like, you know, when two characters played by same actor are headcanoned as brothers). But uhhh I have a Hot fuzz/Harry Potter crossover where Nicolas is a Dursley’s completely normal relative

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No. But once person asked yo use my drabble as inspiration for their fic and then literally put whole drabble into said fic. But I’m not even really mad because people commented literally only those lines as so good and clerer lol

What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I STILL HOPE I’LL FINISH MOST OF MY FAVORITE WIPS. But uhhh… I have this really old wip in the green lethern fandom, around 11k words and needs at least enough 10k. It’s Hal/Carol (canon het) slowburn, gen for the most part, with assorted cameos of canon characters that’s interesting only for few fand. And it’s mermaid au. I don’t even like mermaid au’s, but I was hooked on metaphor of Hal’s desire to become a pilot and flew at sky and mermaid!Hal desire to become human at touch ground. But I started it in like. 2017? Or even earlier? And I doubt that I ever will be deep enough in this fandom in next years, and if I will, I changed so much as author.

What are your writing strengths?

I was told that I write great dialogues, I think? Also people who like my porn tend to praise my bdsm scenes. I don’t think they are really hot (I wouldn’t get horny for them lol), but I think I do something good with emotional part of it? Oh and more than once people thanked me for the way I wrap things in the end. As I say, I mostly write good or bittersweet endings, and as one reader told me (it’s not word for word quote, I’m oo lazy to search now), it’s like «in the complete dark and misery there’s one open door and there’s warm coming from it». Or something like that.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I’m shit in longer fics, both in plottish sense and as in author stamina. My longest fics for now barely scrape 30k words line, and in my dreams I write 100+k words plot-heavy slowburns. I’m trying but I guess I just not there at the moment and it’s foolish to push myself too hard. Also I’m always unhappy with my research. Like, I want to be The Author who research everything and write details-heavy realistic things, but I’m stupid :( Oh and also my characters rarely… feel? I mean me and my emotions are not big friends and it shows. My readers swears that I write it good enough but urgh, I compare my fics to the one I enjoy reading and I see the difference!!! At this point I guess it’s just part of the style and not a flaw, but, still.

First fandom you wrote for?

First ever wrote? Batman, when I was like 8 yo. I haven’t have internet, mind you, just played with characters in my doc file (for the record, it was about how bad guys torture Batman to the death while Catwoman watch helplessly. Ya I had a great taste even back then). First published was for the russian book searies Mefody Buslaev (which is a young adult series about antichrist working for hell and also falling in love with his guardian angel, and also it’s a spin-off to the Tanya Grotter, which is russian parody of Harry Potter but it’s GREAT, guys, like, it rips off idea of «orphan that killed big bad, abusive adopted family, magic school, but it’s funny as hell and also so invested in early 2000’s russian culture, you just need to be tehre to get it). Anyway it was about het otp with Ares (as god of war and, in this verse, hell’s servant) and beforementioned guardian angel, who is 13 yo looking 1000 yo aged loly with blonde ponytails. I started with exploring of angsty backstory of Ares, get my first comment, get scared and upset because of really innocent remark they made and deleted whole thing. I was like 12 yo so it’s understandaple xD

Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

UHHHH. Hard choice, I like a lot of them, but also the ones that could be my all-time favorites are still in draft.

I guess I'll say «целовать нельзя» (I should not kiss, it's a song lyrics again). It a short (4k words at most) fic for the Легенда номер 17 (russian film about hockey) fandom, with pov of Tarasov, greatest USSR couch etc etc, about his deep repressed ust to the Valera, titular legend of hockey and his golden boy. It's ambigious if Tarasov's feeling returned or not, and even if they are, he would never let Valera risk his career and freedom for some stupid feelings, but for one night Tarasov drunk enough to admit his feelings at least for himself. I'll say it's kinda slaps with angsty feelings, more than any of my other fics.

I’ll also mention «омлет» (omelet, as in «you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs»). It’s one of this 30k words fics, and it was written for bubble comics kinkfest. See we have a childhood friends A and B, and A becomes a big buisenessman while B is his kind of bodyguard, and prompt from fest was like «while building his empire A whored B to his investors». I was like WHERE THE FUCK he found ENOUGH GAY BUISENESSMANS in Russia at early 2000’s??? And this thought prompted me to plot long story of sexual and emotional abuse lol. It tragic it’s sexy it has a silver of hope in the end and it’s in no way perfect, but it’s somewhat good. Also it has not so many kudos, around 250, BUT it also has like, 80+ comments? which is mindblowing ratio! and som,e of this comments 1k words long because people had SO MUCH thoughts and emotions from this text and aren’t it great?

i just reread the dbd loveshack tag, and with the ot3 posts and more recent zl/zyx ones, i can’t wait for the four of them to meet all at once, it’ll be wild flailing on all sides for different reasons the rest can’t interpret or vocalize. like, lwj horny gripping for wwx and his unrequited friendship with zyx, and possible jealousy with zl and zyx’s “friendship”. wwx being his disaster self for his two totally-not-crushes crushes and this random interloper. zl annoyed with how touchy wwx is with zyx, plus lwj’s emotional repression. then there’s zyx who has to deal with ALL THREE of them, but completely misses the romantic/jealous/whatever the hell, undertones of the whole thing is just super entertaining for me. bonus points for shuangfeng commentary

my favorite type of mess: one thing happening with ten million different povs/interpretations

it's a bit tricky bc it depends on when they meet again. i think i hinted that there will be zl in the north or somehow the north visits the south, but both situations are post-ssc. you can imagine how charged those interactions will be in a vacuum - adding on the spice of political tensions and blah blah will uh. yeah.

lwj: on wwx: yes on horny gripping, that hasn't changed. contention due to possible demonic cultivation pending. on zyx: his friendship w zyx will get deeper, and more entangled due to zyx's developing intimacy w wwx (<- not in an exclusively romantic sense). aka more Emotions and ascribed deep meanings to every little thing. on zl: and you know how lwj fucking drinks that jc haterade, esp with how he treats wwx? he will be sipping a different flavor of haterade when he sees zl again, esp given that the two didn't make the best first impressions on each other.

wwx: on lwj: lwj is someone he admires, and it's complicated depending on the events within the ssc. this crush is one he still doesn't realize. on zyx: crush is realized. oh fucking no, but he can't help himself. + the events that i have planned during the ssc and between these two, it's also a minefield for wwx. on zl: wow, this upstanding, talented, serious guy that he met before is here! of course he's zyx's martial sibling ('wow my exceptional crush would have exceptional peers'). esp with the issue of the wen afterwards, knowing that zl essentially helped wq and wn's family without self-benefit is admirable. oh. huh. he's... he's a prickly guy, but wwx deals with prickly people all the time :)

zl: on lwj: how did he get worse on wwx: lol it's that funny, rude little guy - *sees wwx full clowning to get zyx's attention* >:| and then noticing whatever wwx's deal is with lwj post-war, how did he also get worse??? on zyx: kinda redacted because there's a thing that will happen in the next few chapters. but at this point he takes more of zyx's actions in good faith, even if the squirrely nature of them tire him out. and the fact that zyx's still interacting with these northern idiots makes him 'they are hopeless. it shouldn't be our problem. let's go home now'

A non-traditional ABO fic where Billy and Steve are both Alphas, and Billy starts off as an asshole with a crush on Steve, so he tries getting Steve to submit like an Omega but Steve is Not Having That and there’s a whole thing about Steve literally only able to submit if the other submits to him, so that they’re clearly equals, and Billy and Steve end up figuring out how to make it work while also still being true to their designations.

There’s pining and angst and misunderstandings and a whole bunch of sexiness and of course a happy ending. Even and maybe especially if you don’t care for ABO fics, you will for sure still like this one. 🔥

I will admit I haven’t read this one in a couple of years, so my memories are a bit fuzzy, but it’s tagged in my bookmarks as one of my top favorites, so I’m going to end up rereading it as I compile the typeset for binding it anyway.

Things I do remember: Billy and Steve have a summer fling right after graduating high school, and that whole fling is the whole first half of the fic so that’s where you see the original falling in love. But they’re emotionally constipated and Billy follows through on his plans to go back to California at the end of summer while Steve stays in Hawkins, and then for five years Steve and Billy don’t talk at all. Billy goes back for Max’s graduation

and he only expects to be there for a week but she convinces him to stay all summer again, which he ends up agreeing to because of course. Billy and Steve are clearly still pining and Steve is hurt but also open about it, and both of them have grown a bit from the teenagers they used to be, and of course they end up getting back together because happy endings only and always! 🎉

this ain’t a love song | Harringrove | word count 13K

Modern college AU that’s literally just 🌽 but damn is it good. Billy and Steve are each under the impression that the other hates them, but really they’re just pining super hard. (That bit isn’t ever formally acknowledged in the fic but the reader can see it.)

They finally hook up at a party and they’re keeping the masks that the other expects, and borrowing one of the fic tags here - the dove is not dead but it’s not healthy either. They’re both drunk and into it but there’s not the checking in for consent but just the expectation that the other could stop them if they wanted when they get to kinks - namely, Steve applies his King Steve persona and the power dynamics and how things played out were hot enough to awaken a new, hyper-specific kink in me 😜

(For anyone hesitant, the ending is indicative of a good actual relationship in the near future and while Steve is still confident after the sex, he’s not mean like he was in the scene, so we can see his affection there too even if Billy is a dumb boy who can’t pick up on it. He’s also basically like “next time you can lead” so there’s an unacknowledged comment about the power imbalance not really being an imbalance for real.)

TF Rarepairing Fest 2022 Day 3: Date Night // Staying In

I’ll admit, this kinda feels like cheating since part of this ship is literally the second most popular ship in the fandom. BUT I don’t focus on that angle of the relationship, and the other two legs of this OT3 have a combined total of 35 works including this one, AND this is the first fic of the OT3 tag, so I’m counting it!

They had had the perfect plan for their date night. Dinner at their favorite restaurant, followed by a show, drinks after that, and finally home for whatever they felt like doing. The kids were safely at ensconced at sleepovers and babysitters, and none of them were likely to be called into work. It should have gone off without a hitch. 

The freak snowstorm put paid to those plans. 

June slumped against Megatron’s side as they watched the news broadcast asking that everyone remain off the roads, as the snap freeze and constant snowfall was making them increasingly dangerous. Optimus was in the kitchen, finishing a phone call with Jack and Jen, the last of their checks on the kids to be done. All were safe and warm, though Starscream had complained about potentially having both of the Step-Twins for longer than intended. Skyfire had reassured them that Rose and Skylight were just fine. Elita had said much the same about the twins, as did Bulkhead before he handed the phone off to their oldest. 

Megatron muttered something in Russian - probably curse words - as the theater they’d been planning to go to scrolled across the news ticker as “closed”. “That most definitely ends our plans.”

“At least we’ll get the tickets reimbursed,” June said, looking to the one small positive of the situation. Still didn’t dull the sting of disappointment of not getting to go out at all. 

The click of the phone in its cradle and footsteps on the hardwood heralded Optimus’s arrival from the kitchen. He stood behind the couch, his hands braced on either side of June and Megatron. “We might not be able to make our original plans, but I don’t see why we can’t have a nice date night.” 

“Always the optimist,” Megatron said, craning his neck back while June sat up to look at their husband. “What did you have in mind?”

“Well, it’s not four course meal, but we have lasagna, garlic bread, and salad, plus that fancy wine Alpha gave us for the twins’ birth.” Optimus gestured to the tv stand. “We also have an extensive movie collection, and a stereo system with many CDs to chose from.”

June smiled, her first one since the storm started. “That sounds like an excellent idea.” She leaned up to give Optimus a kiss, then they looked down at Megatron. 

His face remained impassive for a moment, before his own smile broke out. “I think I like the sound of that.” He reached up and pulled Optimus down for his own kiss, this one much longer and more passionate than June’s. 

June’s smile grew, and she hopped up and turned off the TV. “I’m going to get dressed, you two handle the food.” She headed upstairs and to their bedroom, her smile turned to a smirk as a plan of her own formed in her mind. 

She’d intended to wear a full coverage dress, both because of the weather and because she’d had ideas of some ways to tease her husbands. Now though, she was going to tease them in a completely different way. 

When she’d dressed and had finished her makeup and pinning her hair back in a simple half-up-half-down style, she opened the ensuite to find her husbands had found their own way to keep entertained after getting dressed. She couldn’t help a chuckle, and when they broke apart to look at her, said “No, please, don’t stop on my account. I’m enjoying the show.”

Megatron smirked back, smoothing out his dove grey suit, paired with a purple shirt and a silver tie. “You know you’re always more than welcome to join in.” 

“Oh, I know. But you’re so pretty together.”

“That’s a new dress,” Optimus said, drawing her eyes to him. His dark blue suit, burgundy shirt and silver tie were similarly rumpled, but he was watching her too intently to both smoothing it out. 

June smiled, stepping away from the door jam and giving a small twirl. “I was waiting for the right occasion.” And judging by the looks on her husbands faces, it got exactly the reaction she’d wanted. 

Her dress was mostly black, threaded with silver that glinted in the light. The front had a modest neckline, and the semi-sheer sleeves went to her wrists, but the skirt only just covered the top of the black stockings she wore, while the back was completely open, showing the very edge of her garterbelt and her angel wing tattoos. A delicate necklace, earrings, her wedding ring, and a pair of strappy black heels were the finishing touches. 

Once recovering from his stunned stupor, Megatron stalked forward and pulled her against his chest. “You know exactly what you’re doing to me, minx.” 

June smirked up at him. “Of course I do. It’s why I do it.” She leaned up and pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth. He quickly readjusted and caught her lips for a full, passionate kiss, his hands reaching around to run along her back. 

Another set of hands settled on her hips and gently tugged her away from Megatron. “We do have food in the oven,” Optimus reminded them. “We don’t want it to burn.” 

“How very right, thank you for reminding us, Optimus.” June reached up to touch his face, and smiled when he took her hand and pressed a kiss to the palm of it. She slipped away from her husbands and put just a little extra sway in her step as she headed downstairs. 

Much of the rest of the evening was like that. At dinner, she oh so casually ran her feet along their legs and licked her lips just more often than she needed to. During their movie - she and Optimus outvoted Megatron for Moulin Rouge over The Bodyguard - she would lean over for longer than she needed to to grab some popcorn, and would readjust her skirt more than needed. She was honestly a bit amazed they managed to behave themselves as well as they did when the movie ended and she got up to put on some music while they moved the couch and coffee table out of the way. 

Though it seemed behaving might go out the window quickly, with the way Megatron pulled her against him once the soft and slow music was playing. 

“Saucy minx,” he growled in her ear, and she couldn’t hold back her shiver, even as she smirked up at him. 

“Anything to get you like this. It’s so fun to get you riled up.” And to prove her point, she slipped from his hold and went over to Optimus, who seemed to read her mind and immediately drew her into a dancing position, swaying to the music. 

“His eyes are practically burning. He won’t be going easy on us tonight,” he murmured in her ear, looking over her shoulder. 

“All according to plan,” she murmured back, tucking her head into his neck, and when they turned, she caught a glimpse out the corner of her eye. His eyes were indeed smoldering, and there was no way her smirk was going to leave her face at this rate. 

“Whatever happened to that sweet and timid woman I met all those years ago?” Optimus asked half-rhetorically. 

“She was simply a cover for the minx she really is,” Megatron said, and marched over to them, placing his hands on her hips and pressing his lips to the junction of her neck. 

“You really can’t wait for us to finish our dance?” Optimus asked.

“I can think of another dance we can do. One I think we’ll all enjoy even more.” He tugged June back towards him, and she could feel how eager he was to head back to the bedroom. 

“Hmm… Should we, Optimus?” June asked, looking up at her first husband. 

Optimus chuckled and shook his head. “I know when I’m beaten. You two head on up, I’ll follow you.”

June leaned up to give him a peck on the lips, but Megatron scooped her into his arms and headed for the stairs before she could. “You can’t wait two seconds?” she asked, raising a brow at him. 

“You’ve made me wait long enough,” he said, grinning down at her. “I should teach you a lesson in teasing.” 

June grinned back as they crossed into the bedroom. “I think you should. I’ll be an excellent student.”

“I’m sure you will.”

Anevka is living her best life. #so she obviously ‘accidentally’ lets slip that she’s Tarvek’s sister and she sets Gil on his quest #(I can’t decide if seffie has been read in on the plan or if Anevka has to comically dodge her the entire time she’s in Paris but Martellus #cannot fucking tell that there’s anything wrong here) #ANYWAY. Gil sets out to Save Tarvek!!!! he’s possibly been lead to believe that his childhood best friend (crush but shh he doesn’t know #that yet) is in more imminent danger than he really is. Gil runs into Agatha on the way and probably saves her from some danger and she gets #roped into his quest by accident. her locket gets damaged somehow and on the way she breaks through. many death rays are made. #so Tarvek is just busy building clanks in his tower. refining his knowledge of the muses. getting kind of bored waiting for the future ruler #of Europa that he’s either going to seduce or kill (he hasn’t decided yet. maybe both) and then fucking GILGAMESH HOLZFALLER SHOWS UP???? #and Tarvek is like. of course. of course he has to play the hero So Damn Bad that he’s going to mess up this entire plan. but oh? who is #that lovely girl with him holding such a beautiful death ray??? obviously she’s the one the prophecy is referring to. she’s already shown #herself to be more competent than holzfaller. #Gil is offended like EXCUSE YOU. I CAME HERE TO RESCUE YOU AND YOURE IGNORING ME??? you KICK miette?????? #also I SAW AGATHA FIRST and IM PRETTY SURE SHE DOESNT HAVE ANY CLAIM TO EUROPA???? #unlike you? CAN I LOOK AT YOUR MUSE?????? #Agatha is the only one here with her priorities straight. #anyway the five of them (ot3 plus tinka and violetta) set out to like. ostensibly return Tarvek to his family. but instead they go on #WACKY HIJINKS. they run into the circus! they join the circus! they reunite tinka and moxana! they steal Zeetha from the circus! they dodge #the jagers that Klaus has sent to retrieve Gil once he gets wind that he’s not in Paris!! they add jagers to their party! like. a lot of #jagers for some reason? why do they all want to go with us? #‘should we tell them she’s the heterodyne?’ oggie whispers. ‘she must be keeping it a secret for a reason’ maxim answers. this is wrong. #Agatha has no idea what’s going on. #once THAT comes out their destination changes to Mechanicsburg and they fix the castle and Klaus finally personally comes down to confront #his wayward son and that’s when GILS revelation comes out and then Klaus catches sight of Zeetha and they have a conversation in skifanderin #and THAT ends in Zeetha going ‘DAD???!!!’ #and someone (Krosp probably. he needs to be there) is like. unbelievable. does ANYONE ELSE have surprise royal heritage???? #Tarvek is like. well ok you have to promise not to get mad.
