so I saw Cruella...
Here are my complaints about it, in no particular order:
CGI was awful. Like most of the time any dog was on screen, it was cgi. Like why, just get real dogs wtf
Kinda fat shamey a few times, felt gross.
Estella/Cruella name thing was dumb, why couldn't she just have changed it once "Estella" was murdered instead of it being a weird... uhh idk. It seemed to be like a separate personality thing at first and then later it seemed to be more like "I was already told to be like this, but I actually want to be like this and that's what I'm gonna be" idk would have made more sense for her to choose it for herself instead of her mom coining it when she was young.
Listen okay when someone wants revenge and thinks about killing whoever wronged them, i think they should just kill them idk watch the count of monte Christo or the princess bride to see good revenge arcs done right lmao
What i liked about it:
Fashion was so fucking good I was losing my mind
Music slapped
Story was pretty solid. Listen I know people joke about the dogs pushing her mom off a cliff and how she came to find out and all, but she didn't just see her use the whistle and go "yes she killed me mom" there were other steps to it, she didn't figure it out right immediately or jump to conclusions crazier than what happened. Still a funny way to set up the story tho.
There was actually a queer character. Never explicitly stated but how could you not fuckin tell. Artie was probably my fav tbh
The hair styles oh my god
Heists??? We love heists, the heists weren't a huge focus but it was fun
The fashion again bc oh my god it was so good
The scene with the banana slice
The parachute skirt was so cool, I've thought about that kinda thing before tho I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have had time to deploy it
Final thoughts:
I think what happened was this: someone had an idea for a crazy fashion designer and a fun backstory. Story got pitched and the execs or whoever said yes BUT why don't we tie it to an already existing property and change some key details and boom thats why its Cruella. Anyway thats how we ended up girlbossifying her i guess even tho in the future she wants to skin puppies.....
I think it was a lot of fun, tbh im kinda salty I liked it as much as I did. Might try to make some of her dresses or whatever bc hot damn they looked so good.

Survey #318
“what can you do, where can ya go, when your mama is a burnout, and your daddy is a pyro?”
Do you have your ears pierced more than once? Yeah. Do you use an electric toothbrush? Yes. When was the last time you changed in front of someone? Oh, I have no idea. That's something I avoid like the plague because I loathe my body. When was the last time you got high? Never. Do you get along with your parents? Yeah. How many bracelets do you have on your wrists right now? None. Have you ever used a Ouija board? No, I don't fuck with that stuff. Have you ever met anyone who claimed to be a witch? Yes. Do you go along with prank-callers, or just hang up? I don't answer numbers I don't recognize to begin with. Would you ever tattoo a lover’s name onto your body? Nooooo. Do you own any version of Guitar Hero? I have a lot of 'em. Do you use mouthwash every single day? No. Do you know anyone with asthma? Yeah, my mom. Have you ever walked through a forest at night on your own? Uh, no sir. When was the last time you were in a graveyard? It's been many, many years. Do you know what an ‘AMV’ is? Yep, used to make 'em. How many items are in your recycle bin? (On your computer!) Oh yikes, probably loads. I haven't emptied it in... I don't know how long. Would you rather be a bird or a fish? A bird. What’s one award show you have to watch every year? None. Who do you like more: the Batman or the Joker? Joker. Heath Ledger's is my favorite. Have you ever had a pet rock? No. How much do you weigh? Yeah, no. If you are outside, what are you most likely doing? Taking nature photographs. Have you ever lost your luggage at an airport? No. Have you ever been on a rollercoaster that actually scared you? I don’t do roller coasters to begin with. Have you ever gone in a sauna? Ugh, hell no. Has a stray dog ever tried to bite you? No. Have you ever had an eating disorder? No. Are you attracted to people outside of your race? Yes. Are you in love with anyone at the moment? No. Have you ever dated someone more than once? No. Best cough drop? Those creamy strawberry ones. If you have a pet, does it make a lot of noise? One's a snake, so she's silent as could be. My cat is generally quiet, but he has his times where he just walks around meowing, normally for attention. Are you a fan of eyeshadow? If I actually wear makeup, yeah, I like black eyeshadow. Can you tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi? Absolutely. I don't like Pepsi. Would you feel funny if you kissed somebody of the same sex? Done it before, didn't feel weird. Besides furniture, what’s the biggest thing in your bedroom? A Silent Hill poster. Which of your friends makes you laugh the hardest? Girt. Have you ever been in a Catholic confessional? Yeah, as a kid. What color was the hair of the last person you kissed? Brown. What was the title of the last song you listened to? So today I've really been digging dark synthwave/cyberpunk-ish music, and right now I have a playlist on that's currently playing "DNA War" by Absolute Valentine and Billy Mays. How far away is the closest Walmart? Not even five minutes. Can you do a backflip? No. Who is the lead singer of your favorite band? Well, Ozzy is the lead singer of Ozzy Osbourne, haha. When was the last time you went fishing? Not since Sara visited and we went catfishing with my dad one night. What brand of deodorant do you use? Secret. Have you ever liked someone and never told them? Yes. Do you regret it? Nah. Who was the last person to buy you a drink? My mom, lmaoooo. Who was the last person to buy you dinner? Also my mom, haha. How old is the oldest person you’ve dated? Juan's maybe like... 28 or something by now, idk. Have you ever run a stoplight? No. Have you ever dated someone & then dated their sibling? YIKES, no. That sounds miles beyond awkward. Are both your parents still living? Yeah, thankfully. What’s something that makes you feel more creative? Music, for sure. Do you collect Mason jars to use for crafts? No, but I do find those super cute. What gives you a quality of life? Not much nowadays, idk. What would give you a high quality of life? A sense of purpose, direction, and worth. Do you have any rugs on top of carpet in your home? We have a big one in our living room, yes. I don't get it. Do you have a mattress cover on your bed? Yeah. Do you hate taking naps during the day? No; naps are normal for me. Who has the best personality on YouTube? Maybe I'm biased, but I genuinely do think Mark for a multitude of reasons. He's just extremely likable imo and sincerely a fucking spectacular human being. Do you have any vinyl records? No, but I would love to collect classic rock and metal ones. Which serial killer(s) do you find most fascinating? I'm quite honestly not well-informed in serial killer stories. I think they're interesting, but not enough for me to learn about them. Have you ever visited any celebrity gravesites? No. How do you feel about archaeology? It's fuckin dope. Any animals whose behaviors you find particularly interesting? ALL OF THEM AHHHH!!!!! But I particularly love learning about social animals, like meerkats (mongoose in general, really), African wild dogs, wolves, etc. What are your thoughts on gun control? I don't support the idea of banning firearms altogether, but I am very much in favor of some reform. There needs to be a much, much more strict and complex system in order for you to legally own a gun, and I also support periodic "check ups" to ensure you still fit whatever criteria is laid out. "Bad people will still find guns;" yes, some most certaintly will, but you can't convince me that the numbers wouldn't decrease. It would take a serious villain to put so much effort into pursuing obtaining a firearm. Do you like animals better than most humans? Sure do. Have you ever had to block people online for harassing you? I've blocked people to prevent that. If you collect anything, what is your favorite piece of that collection? I cherish the plush meerkat Jason gave me most, probably; out of my Silent Hill stuff, the limited edition Revelation flyer I have in Japanese. Are you friends with anybody you didn’t like at first? Hi, meet my best friend lmao. Are there any musicians you didn’t like at first, but grew on you? Probably. Do you have any favorite books you’d like to have signed by the author? Not really. Well wait, Ozzy signing my copy of his autobiography would be pretty damn cool. Do you like any board games or card games? I'm not really a board game fan, but Magic: The Gathering is fun as far as card games go. What historical figure(s) are you most interested in? I'm not incredibly interested in any, but I do think Pharaoh Hatshepsut was a bad bitch. She was one of the extremely few female pharaohs, and if my memory serves me right, one of the most successful. Do you like Breaking Benjamin? I sure do. How many people of the opposite sex have you told you loved them? One. Have you ever had to change your phone number? Yes, because I was getting strange texts from numbers I didn't know. Have you ever played bingo at an actual bingo hall? No. What’s your favourite comic book/graphic novel? I don’t read any. What is something you take pride in? How far I've come as far as my mental illnesses go, particularly depression and PTSD. What’s the biggest magnet on your fridge? I'm not getting up to go look. Have you ever eaten a Big Mac? No; I hate lettuce on burgers, so. What brand is your vaccuum cleaner? Dunno. Do you believe in sex before marriage? Sure, but I don't believe it's a must for everyone. Plenty of people don't even want to get married. Be intimate once you're comfortable with the person, and be safe and smart about it. Are you for or against abortion? I'm pro-choice. Do you feel like you need to lose weight? It's fact that I need to. My body just doesn't want to, afuckingpparently. All I seem to be capable of is either maintain or gain nowadays. Is summer your favorite season? It's my least favorite, actually. Do you wear glasses? I'm basically blind without 'em. Can you say the alphabet in more than one language? Yeah, in German. What do you want out of life? To feel like I made a difference, even if it's a small one. Do you ever get carsick? No. Do you groom your eyebrows? Not really anymore, no. Have you ever liked someone who treated you badly? No. When was the last time you went in the car past midnight? Oh boy, probably not since I had my cyst in I think '16. I was in so much agony and we had no painkillers, so I had to wake up Mom to go to Walmart to grab some. They barely even helped at all. God, I couldn't imagine dealing with that again. Were your last two kisses with the same person? Yes. Do you have alcohol in your house? I don't think we do right now, no. Do you have any personal fashion rules that revolve around your own preferences/body type (e.g., you never/always wear a certain color, sleeve type, or length of dress)? Yeah; I don't wear anything that shows my legs unless I shaved, but I will never wear a dress that isn't at least past my knees. Do you remember any celebrity whose style you admired when you were a teen? What do you think of that style now? Avril Lavigne was/is an ICON. I still think she looks badass. So, is it gif with a hard G or soft G? I used to say the opposite, but I say "gif" now. Apparently that's how the creator of the term says it anyway. When you are invited to things like wedding showers or baby showers do you tend to go or skip? What about graduation parties? If Mom is able to take me, I'll try to go to the first two if they're my closer friends. Do you like spicy chips? Oh FUCK yes. What’s the last movie you watched at a friend’s house? Elf with Sara's fam. Can you remember your parents’ birthdays? Mom's, yes. Dad's, only the month. Do you read your friends' surveys? Yep, I love learning about them. Do you prefer beef, chicken or steak? Chicken. Ever spent the night in a tent? Yeah, multiple times as a kid, "camping" in the yard with Dad, haha. What do you call your grandparents? I called both sets just "Grammy" and "Grampa." Have you ever cried while reading a book? Oh, certainly. How many college degrees do you want? I got none, and I'm not going back to college. Do you know how to play pool? What about foosball? Yes. Have you ever attended a professional sporting event? Yeah, hockey with my dad a few times. Do you own any jerseys? No. Were you born with naturally straight teeth? No; that's why I had braces. If you were the opposite gender, what name would you like to be called? Maybe like... Victor. Idk. Do you prefer original or sour Skittles? I love both, but sour. Do you like bacon bits on your salad? Yeah. What is your favorite kind of soup? I'm not a soup person. Did you learn to type through a computer program for kids? Yeah. What do you take for pain? Advil/Ibuprofen. What is your favorite place that you’ve lived? My pre-teen and teenage years house: in the woods on a dead-end road and down a gravel path that everyone always missed when learning where our house was. The actual road itself had very, very little traffic, and there was a large expanse of cotton fields. I loved it and miss the house itself, but it's got a lot of bad memories rotting in it. Who are your favorite kids that you’ve babysat? My niece and nephew. <3 Who is your favorite cousin? I don't have a favorite. We barely interact at all. Does one side of your family live in another state? Literally none of my extended family (or half-siblings) live in NC. What states did your parents grow up in? New York and Ohio. Have you ever had an allergic reaction to an insect? No. Is there a good hospital where you live? God no. It is notoriously awful. When was the last time you were asked out? Did you accept or decline? Mid-2017. I aceepted. Does your job allow piercings or tattoos? N/A Do you want to get married? If so, what color will your dress be? Yeah. Probably white/ivory or black. Ever had a caricature done of yourself? How much was it, and were you satisfied with it? No. Do you like peanut butter and fluff sandwiches? No, I don't like the texture. If you got married and then got divorced, would you want to re-marry? Probably not. What’s your favorite amusement park? I haven't been to nearly enough to know. Do you play video games? If so, what kind? Yeah. My favorite are horror games, but I also love me some story-driven survival games like The Last of Us, and then there's "kids" games like Spyro, etc. I like a looot of different kinds. Would you buy used clothes? I don't think so. I know it's easy to wash clothes and stuff, I'd just still feel kinda... grossed out by it.

A Natural - Part 2

Flufff and probably angst: 6,664 words
A/N: All of you who expressed interest, here is the part that was never going to exist. I had an idea, so, it happened.
Tumblr media
“You took on the project? Are you crazy?!” One of your coworkers asked. You looked up at the man tiredly. “I wasn’t given much of a choice.” He shook his head. “You’re taking on too much. I’ll talk to them.” “Mr. Min, unless you want to make my job even harder, please refrain from confronting our boss. She’s already mad at me for saying my son is more important to me than this job. She’s made it very clear that this project determines whether I keep my raise or not.” Yoongi groaned and dropped into the chair across from you again. He’d only been working in this branch of the company for a week and hadn’t caught up to the office politics yet. Your phone rang, a very bad sign. You recognized Hoseok's number—Theo’s teacher. “What happened?” You asked instead of saying hello. “You’re going to have to come pick him up.” His voice was sympathetic. You sighed. “I’ll be there as soon as I can.” Yoongi watched you carefully as you ended the call. “Can’t your hybrid pick him up?” He guessed. You shook your head. “I’ll be gone an hour, tops. I’ll use my lunch break. Just, don’t draw attention to my empty desk.” He nodded. “Drive fast and take chances. I’ll cover for you if you run over.” “You’re the best,” You grabbed your purse and keys, foregoing the jacket despite the cold weather as you rushed out the door. You got to the school in ten minutes, and rushed to the principal’s office. Theo looked up at you, pale and with tear tracks. Hoseok stood up, pulling you back out into the hallway. “He’s been complaining of a headache all day, started feeling nauseous on the playground and someone blocked his way to the bathroom. He got into a fight with the kid, ended up puking all over him before either of them could actually hurt each other. They were teasing him about being sick.” You sighed. “I’ll talk to him tonight. Do I need to sign anything or…” He shook his head, patting your shoulder. “Just get him home. He’s been pretty miserable ever since snack time this morning.” Guilt overwhelmed you. “He said he didn’t want to go to school today but he wouldn’t give me a reason.” “I’ll keep a closer eye on him. I’ll also see where they are on the paperwork for Taehyung to be able to pick him up for you.” “Thanks, Hobi, I owe you.”
“I will collect one of these days,” He teased. You opened the office door again, noticing now that Theo wasn’t in the clothing you sent him to school in. “Come on, buddy, I have to take you home and get back to work.” “Sorry, mommy,” He murmured once you were both in the car. “It’s okay, baby. You have to let me know when you have headaches though, baby. You know you’re always sick when you have headaches,” You spoke gently, despite the anxiety that was clawing at you after spending so much time at the school. You had to get back to work in twenty minutes. “I didn’t think I would.” He was pouting a little. “Taehyung will take care of you and I’ll be home as soon as I can, okay?” “Yes, mommy.” You pulled into the drive. Taehyung appeared in the window, then was standing in the doorway, looking worried. You got out and pulled Theo out of his carseat. Tae was next to you in seconds. “Hey, what’s…oh, no, Theo! Headache?” He gently nuzzled the top of Theo’s head before picking him up. “I’ve got you, kiddo. We’ll put in a movie and I’ll help you do your school work when you feel better.” Theo settled into Tae’s arms. You kissed Theo’s head, then met Taehyung’s eyes. “I’ll be home as soon as I—” “I’ve got him. Just get home when you can. Go, before you’re late.” Taehyung nudged you toward the car. “I’ve got him.” You nodded, driving away as soon as you could. You got back to your desk without having eaten, exactly an hour after you left. Yoongi looked astonished. “You actually only took an hour. Did you eat?” You shook your head. “No time.” “What happened?” “He gets migraines, threw up on a kid who stood between him and the bathroom,” You answered, quickly getting to work so that when your boss came in she wouldn’t be able to yell at you. “Yikes,” Yoongi grimaced. “Is he on some sort of prescription for his headaches?” “They didn’t help. One made him more nauseous, another made him dizzy, and the other just put him to sleep. He’s seen three different neurologists. I’m still paying the bills from the last useless appointment. MRI’s cost a lot of money, by the way.” You quickly started typing up one of the reports in the stack you had to process. “Relax a little, she went out to lunch about ten minutes ago and I processed one of those on your computer just in case you ran over. I just sat back in my seat when you came in like a tornado. Also…is that a picture of Theo?” You nodded. “He’s adorable.” “Thanks.” “He takes after you a lot,” Yoongi commented. You smiled at him finally. “You’re distracted and don’t want to work. I get it. Just ask the question that you want to ask.” “Who was his father?” Yoongi asked, leaning on his desk. He looked genuinely curious, but also sympathetic. Like he was asking cause he cared. You pulled out a photo frame from the bottom drawer of your desk and set it on his desk, not answering verbally. “He never knew. Besides, Theo basically decided that Taehyung is his father now so whatever makes him happiest.” Yoongi swallowed. “I know his brother.” You froze, then met his gaze. He looked pretty shaken. “His younger brother and I…he’s one of my roommates. Been friends since college. Jimin.” You felt sick. “He…never talked about having a brother…” He never talked about any of his family. You two had been so happy together, but he had made it clear that he didn’t want to talk about his family. That his family was not a part of his life anymore, or that he wasn’t talking to them. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to blindside you…” Yoongi got up and came over when he saw how badly you were freaking out. “I won’t tell him. Not unless you tell me it’s okay. I get it, your family is just how you want it. I’m not going to mess that up for you. It’s okay, y/n. It’s okay.” He hugged you when he realized you were panicking, gently rubbing your back. “Just breathe.” This was something that had scared you, more than raising Theo alone. That there was family out there that might try and take Theo away from you. It was irrational. You were his mother, a good mother. Not even grandparents or siblings could take Theo away and they didn’t even know that he existed. Yoongi was confirming it, even now. “It’s okay. I won’t tell them about Theo.” He rubbed your back for a couple more seconds before pulling away. “I might cave and tell my other roommate just so I won’t have to go crazy alone. You know, bring someone else down with me.” You managed to choke out a laugh. “But…” He sighed, pulling away. “Jimin…it would make him so happy to know that there’s a piece of his brother out there. He wouldn’t tell his parents. Not if you asked him not to. Just consider it. Or you can meet him without us telling him who you are, and you can decide for yourself. With me as a buffer.” You wiped your eyes carefully, breathing carefully to calm down. “Thanks.” “Yeah, it’s my fault you got upset in the first place.” You two returned to working, but your mind was only partially present. Your eye caught the clock around the time that Theo was normally getting out of school. An idea manifested. “Saturday evening…I was thinking of having Theo’s teacher over for dinner. You all should come as well. I’ll give you the details when they’re tacked down.” Yoongi looked surprised. “Are you sure?” You nodded. “Don’t say anything until I confirm with Hobi, and make sure Theo won’t freak out. Or Taehyung.” “Definitely check with the hybrid. He’s a dog-hybrid, right? They can be territorial.” You nodded again. “I’ll keep my mouth shut until I hear from you.” You went back to work, putting it all out of your mind. You called Hoseok on the way home to see if he’d even be interested. “Home cooking? Are you serious or are you teasing me?” Hoseok laughed. “Well, there’s more to it than just you coming over for dinner so I can thank you for all the trouble I’ve been putting you through. You and Namjoon, who you should invite as well. Um, it’s also one of my coworkers and his roommates.” “Okay…why?” You took a deep breath. “Theo’s dad…one of Yoongi’s roommates is the younger brother of Theo’s dad.” It was quiet on the other end. “Whoa.” “Yeah. I still have to talk to Theo and Taehyung about it, but I wanted to see if you were at least free for dinner.” “Yeah. I’m free. And I will never say no to edible food. Neither will Namjoon. Just let us know the time.” “Thanks, Hobi. You’re an incredible friend and ally.” “Well, I have been thrown up on by your kid a couple times, so if I haven’t left by now…” You laughed at that. “You’re a saint. I have to go before Taehyung starts worrying about me sitting in the car.” “Talk to you soon.” “Yeah,” You hung up and got out of the vehicle, heading up to the house. Taehyung opened the door for you, looking curious. “Who were you talking to?” You rolled your eyes. “Hi, I’m great, how was your day? How’s Theo?” Taehyung ducked in and kissed you quickly, then smiled at you. “He’s asleep. His head started feeling worse so he lay in bed with an ice pack and I think the lavender actually made him worse this time.” “He must be sensitive to smell this time,” You sighed. He was frowning at you. “Were you crying? Who’s smell is on you? Who touched you?” “Tae, a little quieter,” You said, glancing behind him. “I had a bit of a freak-out at work, Yoongi was just helping me calm down. It’s totally platonic between us, and he’s the one that set up the freak-out so he felt obligated to help me calm down. We need to talk, though.” “About?” He hugged you, wiggling and rubbing so that you’d smell like him. “I was thinking about cooking dinner for some guests on Saturday. Hoseok and Namjoon, Theo’s teachers, to thank them for all their help the past couple of years, months, weeks, days. Yoongi and his two roommates.” You double-checked what you wanted to say before continuing, noting how still he had gone. “Yoongi…he saw the picture of Theo’s father and recognized him. One of his roommates is the younger brother of Theo’s father and…” “Really?” Taehyung pulled away, looking at you with big eyes, mouth agape. “I thought…” “I didn’t know. His father never talked about his family, and made it pretty clear that he never would talk about them. I stopped asking. I’m not telling Theo just yet. I wanted to see what Jimin was like first before acknowledging it. Besides, from what I understand they’re all bachelors so it’s probably been a while since they had a good meal and they’re all around your age, so maybe they can be your friends. Have someone to talk to or hang out with every now and then. Hoseok and Namjoon have wanted to meet you anyway.” He was grinning at you. “Sounds fun.” “Really? You’re not going to get overprotective or anything?” “Nope. I mean, I’m not going to let any of them cling to you, but I’m curious about them. Besides, I live here. I’m Theo’s dad and I get to kiss you. They don’t.” He looked a little smug about that. “Think Theo will be okay with it?” “Sure, just make sure they all know that they have to play at least one game with him.” He shrugged. “Since it’s here, they’ll know that you have a kid. It’ll be fine. I’m here to mediate.” You kissed his cheek. “You’re a God-send.” He grinned so big his eyes closed, allowing you to escape so you could finally change out of your uncomfortable work clothes. Yeah. The dinner would be fine. You had Taehyung, Hoseok, and Yoongi as buffers. You texted Yoongi and Hoseok with the time and address, as well as the game condition for Theo. They both replied within minutes. Now you just had to cook for six men, yourself, and Theo, and make sure that Theo knew of the plans. Piece of cake. ———— “Mr. Jung! Mr. Kim!” Theo slammed into Hoseok’s leg first, then hopped to Namjoon’s. “Hi!” “Hey, kiddo, missed you in music class on Thursday.” Namjoon ruffled Theo’s hair with a grin. “Yeah, I got sick again,” Theo scuffed the floor, then brightened up and took both of their hands, pulling them into the house. “Tae-Tae! These are my teachers!” Taehyung greeted them, a little shyly, but overall friendly. He was familiar with their scents from picking them up on yours and Theo’s clothing. You stayed by the door because you’d seen Yoongi’s car pulling into the driveway, and waved as he got out of the car. Two more men got out of the car as well, one wearing a hooded jacked, and the other… You recognized that leather coat. You waved them right inside. “Come on in. Hey, Yoongi.” “Hey, this is Jimin and this is Seokjin. You said your hybrid was friendly, right?” “He is,” You paused for a moment, then realized why they were asking. Seokjin was a hybrid as well, ears back somewhat nervously. “You still should have told me, though,” You rolled your eyes at Yoongi. “It’ll be fine.” “Right, well, guys, this is Y/n.” “Thank you for having us,” Seokjin said politely. Jimin just smiled, nodding his agreement to the sentiment. “Of course. Come on in. The other’s are in the living room and kitchen.” You led the way through to the living room. Hoseok looked up when they all came in, curious. “Hoseok, Namjoon, Taehyung, Theo: This is my coworker Yoongi, and his roommates Seokjin and Jimin.” Taehyung darted up to Seokjin with a grin. “Hi!” Seokjin smiled back, chuckling a bit. “Hi.” Jimin chuckled as they both sniffed at each other. “See, it’s fine, Yoongi-hyung.” Theo was looking at them with curiosity and excitement, bouncing in place. “Hi!” Jimin grinned at him. “Hey. How old are you?” “I’m six!” Theo replied proudly. “Really?” Jimin replied just as excitedly, but there was a slight sadness in his eyes. Crap. You glanced questioningly at Yoongi. He shook his head slightly. “It smells amazing in here.” “It really does. How long must we endure the torment?” Hoseok asked dramatically. “Another fifteen minutes.” You headed behind the counter. Namjoon sighed. “It’ll be worth it. Good cooking. Home cooking. And we’ll do the dishes, y/n. Right, Hoseok.” No,” You replied. “Hoseok is here because I owe him about ten-thousand if he does the dishes then I don’t even get to take it down by one.” “Home cooking counts for about a hundred favors,” Hoseok informed you gravely. “Mommy’s cooking is the best,” Theo chimed in. Taehung nodded his agreement, pulling Theo into his lap on the floor. “Definitely.” Yoongi joined you in the kitchen. “Can I help with anything? We should have offered to bring a dessert or something.” “Could you mash the potatoes? I’ve had to pick Theo up a couple times today and my arms aren’t having it.” He nodded, quickly taking over for you. “I didn’t tell Jimin, I promise. I haven’t spoken a word of it. I told them you invited me because I covered for you at work and I complained one too many times about how our cooking is sub-par.” You sighed, somewhat relieved. “At least that’s not too far from true.” “Exactly. What was it you told me? A good lie holds some truth in it.” You nodded. Seokjin and Taehyung were sitting side-by-side, tails wagging and talking somewhat animatedly with their ears perked. “I’m so glad they get along. I should have told you that Jin was a hybrid sooner. I just…I forget about it sometimes. My parents got him for me when I was seventeen. He’s the reason I went to college in the first place. He could attend classes with me and get a job. Not a great job, but he’s happy that he can work. I’m so used to treating him like a human that I honestly forgot that it might not be a good idea to bring another dog hybrid into a home where there already was one. What kind is Taehyung?” “Collie.” “Ah, well, that explains some of it.” “They’re very social dogs,” You agreed. “He hasn’t been able to socialize a lot. I was hoping this would be good for him as well.” Jimin was now part of Taehyung and Jin’s conversation, and they appeared to be including Theo who was surprisingly still in Taehyung’s lap. Hoseok dove right into the conversation as well, somehow dragging Namjoon in. You watched carefully. Theo suddenly stood up and spun toward you. “Mommy, what was my daddy’s name?” You froze. “Hey, you told me Taehyung was your daddy,” Hoseok teased lightly, tickling the kid. Theo giggled. “No, the one that died!” It got really quiet as everyone waited tensely for your answer. Hoseok, Yoongi and Taehyung were looking at you desperately nervous. Theo was looking at you with curiosity. “Come here, baby,” You beckoned with a forced smile. He scrambled over to you, happily sitting on the counter when you helped him up onto it. “Why do you ask, baby?” You asked as quietly as you could. He wiggled a little in place. “Because he looks like the picture you showed me.” “Jimin isn’t your father.” “But he looks like him.” “Maybe a little,” You conceded and kissed his forehead and whispered the name that you didn’t want the others to hear. “Okay, baby?” He nodded, smiling at you. “Okay. Mommy, are you okay? You looked sad.” He touched beside your eyes then rubbed his nose against yours adorably. You pressed kisses to his face playfully. “I’m fine, baby. Why don’t you go wash your hands for dinner? Milk or water with dinner?” “Water,” He chirped, wrapping his arms around your neck so you would carry him at least a little ways before setting him onto the floor. Then he scurried to the bathroom. The whole room seemed to breathe a sigh of a relief. “Does he normally blindside you with loaded questions like that?” Namjoon asked, looking stressed. “Thankfully, no.” “What even brought that up?” Seokjin’s eyes were huge, and his ears back from the increase in stress in the room. He must be susceptible to it all. You opened your mouth to respond, but Theo had come back in and heard the question. “He looks a little like my dad,” Theo said, pointing at Jimin. “I couldn’t remember what his name was so I asked Mommy.” Jin whimpered, shrinking against Taehyung as the tension spiked again. Jimin just looked confused. But Namjoon was looking at you with big eyes. And Jin seemed to have made the connection as well. Theo looked uncomfortable. “What’s wrong? Mommy, did I do something wrong?” You swallowed hard. “No, Theo. Food’s ready, everyone!” Jimin looked worried, but everyone hurried to the table. Taehyung scooped Theo up with a silly sound. Giggles filled the air instead and both Hoseok and Jin jumped into the silliness as if to divert everyone’s attention. But Jimin caught your elbow, startling you. “I’m sorry,” He said softly. “If I had known I looked like him…” “You don’t. Not that much. It’s okay. I didn’t even know that Theo looked at the picture that often.” “Could I see it later?” He asked. You looked away, meeting Taehyung’s eyes. He tilted his head, then nodded encouragingly. You looked back at Jimin. “Sure. After dinner.” He nodded and quickly sat down at the table with everyone. Somehow the meal passed pleasantly, the conversation never getting dull. Theo was ecstatic and Taehyung seemed to be getting along with all of them really well. It was nice. Taehyung hugged you from behind when everyone got up, following Theo over to whatever game he chose. “You okay?” You nodded. “Not in front of Theo, Tae,” You whispered. He nodded into your shoulder and released you, grateful you told him instead of pushing him away. He impulsively pecked your cheek before practically skipping over to the others. You rolled your eyes, going to your room and grabbing the picture frame, turning to see that Jimin had followed you. “I thought it might throw Jin-hyung into a panic attack if the picture was brought out there,” Jimin explained. “He’s had a rough week. Having good food always helps him, and he really does love Theo. It’s hard not to love the kiddo.” He smiled genuinely. “Sorry, if I upset you. You don’t have to show me the picture.” You shook your head. “You have a right to know.” He looked confused, until he took the picture frame from you. He stared at the photo of you with his brother, then at you, then back at the picture. “That’s…” “Your brother. Yeah. Yoongi recognized him from the photo I keep at the office. I didn’t know…I didn’t know anything about his family. He wouldn’t talk about them. When he died…I knew he was in contact with his family, since his body had to be sent to someone. Since I wasn’t the one arranging a funeral,” You said softly, shaking your head and looking at the floor. “I asked Yoongi not to say anything until I…met you myself.” Jimin sat down on the chair by your vanity. He looked stunned, tracing the photo, then his face transformed into some form of fear and relief. “Theo’s his kid? He’s my nephew?” You nodded, hugging your knee as you sat on the chest at the end of your bed. “You were the woman that my brother couldn’t stop talking about, but would never name,” He breathed out with something akin to a sob. “He loved you so much. He wanted me to meet you, but then…he died…and I didn’t know…He had a kid?” “He didn’t know,” You whispered. “I didn’t know. He died before I even found out.” Jimin was in tears, and suddenly Jin was poking his head in, looking worried. You gestured toward Jimin and Jin immediately wrapped his arms around the other man, making soft comforting sounds. Jimin looked up with a smile. “Does he know?” “Theo doesn’t know. Not yet. But pretty much everyone else does now, right?” Jin nodded. “Figured it out before dinner.” Taehyung poked his head in, then was gone just as quick. Jimin looked somberly at you. “I understand if you don’t want…but…I’d really like to get to know him. Please.” You rested your cheek against your knee for a moment, thinking about it. You got a good impression from him, and Theo had actually let Jimin help him at the table instead of insisting on someone he’d known longer. And Taehyung and him had already started talking about hanging out before the end of dinner. “Okay. I mean, I don’t want you alone with him…not for a while, but we can tell him. You can get to know him.” You spoke softly, uncertain if this was a good decision or not. He grinned through tears. He looked at Jin. “He had a kid. He had a kid.” He curled into Jin’s arms. Jin gestured that it’d be a while until Jimin calmed down and that you should head back out. You nodded. “We’ll tell him when you’ve calmed down. I should get back out there before Theo comes back here. Don’t loot my bedroom.” Jimin giggled and Jin cracked a smile. You left them to pull together, then went out and found that Theo had the other four men involved in a game of Candyland, though it was pretty obvious that none of them were playing the way it was supposed to be played. But Theo was beyond happy, grinning from Taehyung’s lap. He was starting to look like he was calming down. Which meant that he’d be ready to sleep in about an hour and a half. You sat down and Theo quickly switched to your lap. “They’re all cheating,” He told you happily, immediately refocusing on the game. You smiled and stroked his hair before pressing a kiss to his head. He relaxed into your arms. “Where’s Mr. Jimin and Mr. Jin?” “They’ll be out in a couple minutes,” You answered softly. Taehyung took your hand, eyes examining you carefully. “How’d he take it?” Yoongi asked, his tone uninterested so it went right past Theo. “I need to replace the box of tissues in my room,” You answered. He nodded. “Figured when both Jin and Taehyung went to check on you.” Taehyung just grinned and squeezed your hand. “Telling him?” You nodded, relying on his hand to keep calm. There was no telling how Theo would react to it all. Telling him suddenly that he had an uncle. His father’s brother. It could upset the delicate balance of your life. Taehyung and Hoseok shifted closer to you, seeming to sense your nervousness. Taehyung rested his head on your shoulder. Namjoon and Theo were playfully debating over a rule in the game when Jimin and Jin rejoined everyone. Theo was more than happy to come up with a rule to let both of them back into the game, effectively kicking Yoongi out of the game. Yoongi grinned and laughed, surprised at how boldly Theo ejected him from the game. “He’s good.” You shook your head, amused at Theo playing a game without the rules. When he played with you he usually at least tried to play by the rules (you just didn’t enforce all of them because he doesn’t understand them all the time). Theo won the game (big shock), and he happily cheered for himself, flopping across yours and Taehyung’s laps. Then he sat up, turning to look at you. “Was my dad good at playing games?” “He was good at making it fun,” You answered, smiling. The most innocent game you two had played was Apples to Apples and you two had found ways of making it dirty. “We were usually too busy laughing to actually play the game.” That was true at least. He looked a little disappointed at the answer for once. “But you know, Jimin would know better,” You said softly, tilting Theo’s face up to yours. He looked confused. “How would he know?” “How much do I love you?” You asked, rubbing your nose against his. “Beyond infinity,” He giggled, wiggling in your hold. “I didn’t tell you something so I could protect you.” He smiled and nodded. “Okay. What?” He looked so trusting and it made everything easier. “I found out a couple days ago that your father had a younger brother, Jimin. I wanted to meet him myself before I told you, but Jimin is your uncle.” His eyes were huge. “So, while I don’t know a lot about your father, Jimin probably knows just about everything.” Theo looked at Jimin, looking astonished. “Everything?” Jimin nodded excitedly. “Just about.” Taehyung wrapped his arms around you, smiling as he watched. “Did he play soccer? Do I look like him? Did he like cartoons? What was his favorite color? Mine’s blue!” He was bouncing in place, as he asked questions rapid-fire. Jimin was just grinning and laughing a little, trying to keep up with the questions to answer them. When Theo finally seemed to run out of questions, he looked at you with awe. “I have an uncle! Daddy, I have an Uncle!” He dropped into Taehyung’s lap. Taehyung turned a bit red, but quickly wrapped Theo in a tight embrace. “That’s great, Theo.” Jimin was looking at Theo with so much love. That look…that made him look like his older brother. He met your gaze, and just nodded. Meanwhile Taehyung was laughing silently. “He’s asleep.” You dropped back against the chair behind you. “Oh thank God.” Hoseok laughed softly. “It’s been a crazy night for you guys. Put him to bed. We’ll do the dishes. You won’t owe me, or Namjoon.” “We’ll head out,” Yoongi said, making sure Jin and Jimin were in agreement. “I’ll see you at work on Monday.” You nodded, smiling at them. Taehyung carried Theo to his bed after murmuring a goodbye to the others. Jin touched your hand. “Thank you for having us. This was really great.” He looked pretty worn out, and you guessed his heightened empathy he’d been put through the wringer. He headed for the door, only to get intercepted by Taehyung who bear-hugged him with a wagging tail. Yoongi patted your shoulder. “The food was great.” “Glad you liked it.” Which left you and Jimin. “Thank you,” He said softly. “Having a piece of my brother…it means so much.” You nodded, looking at the floor. “It’ll be good for him. Have some more family. Have a connection to his father. He doesn’t need it, not really, but someday he’d want it. Besides, after you’ve been around for a while I can pawn him off on you while I take a nap.” He grinned and then hugged you briefly. “I can’t wait. I’ll help Tae teach him how to play soccer!” He then hopped after Jin and Yoongi. You turned toward the two men in the kitchen. “Saints, both of you.” “You’re the saint for feeding us. We need to do this more.” Hoseok hugged you tightly. “Let Tae help you relax tonight,” He whispered. You pressed your face into his shoulder, finding comfort in one of your oldest friends. You’d gone to college with him, and he was the one who helped you get through being a single mom. He was basically your brother. You heard a soft, choked, growl and turned toward Taehyung. He looked pouty. Hoseok chuckled. “See you Monday, y/n.” Namjoon hugged your shoulders, but avoided anything more. “I’ll see you eventually. Hoseok should call in more of those favors you owe him. We’re living on takeout.” “That’s because Namjoon burned the pot instead when he boiled water,” Hoseok teased. “And I can make instant noodles. Besides, we’re all busy. And I don’t really mind whether those favors ever get called in.” “We’ll have to make dinners more regular,” You told them, rubbing their arms. “See you both soon.” They nodded, saying goodbye to Taehyung, and went out the door. Taehung was on you in seconds, holding you tightly. “Mine. Mine, mine, mine.” You squeaked. “Taehyung!” He ignored you and scooped you up, carrying you into your room, closing the door behind him. “Mine. Need to—ugh!” He dropped you onto the bed, and then shoved the chair Jimin had sat in into the closet. He ran out of the room. You blinked in concern, ready to send a mayday text to Hoseok, who was surely not gone yet. Taehyung came back with three blankets from his room and used one to stuff against the bottom of the closet door, then threw the other two over you before crawling onto the bed and forcefully cocooning you in the two blankets before cuddling up with you under the comforter. “Mine.” He kissed your face and neck. You swallowed. “Um, Taehyung, I haven’t even brushed my teeth and I’m wearing jeans…my uncomfortable ones.” He growled, but it sounded pouty. “But I was so good, the whole time! I let them touch you and I let them get their scent on you when I didn’t want it there and—” “Taehyung,” You interrupted. “They’re gone. Besides, didn’t we already establish who I kiss?” “Me.” “Hoseok is like a brother to me. The others are friends and we’ve come out of the past where a woman would marry her deceased man’s brother. And no-doubt Jin could tell that you consider me to be yours since he limited his physical interactions.” You wiggled, trying to free yourself. “Not to mention this is a little extreme!” “I wouldn’t have to be extreme if you would just let me love you always,” He pouted as he held you still. “You know why I can’t.” You sighed, giving in since he was much stronger than you and it had been a day. “It’s what he wants, though,” Taehyung murmured softly, gently, lovingly. “And if it doesn’t work out between us then—” “You think too much. Who says it won’t?” He kissed you then. “Look, I’m serious about you. I know it scares you, being into someone, but I’m not going anywhere. Let’s face it, you adopted me for him but he wanted me for you. Did you know that hybrids have this instinct about compatibility? They know if a mate will be a life-long one by scent, and brief observation.” “I didn’t know that,” You replied, tired and uncomfortable. You just wanted to change into pajamas, maybe have a good cry, and sleep in tomorrow morning. He finally released you, sitting both of you up so he could look you in the eye. “I know it’s you. I’m just waiting for you to know it too.” He leaned in and kissed you. “It’s been a long night, Tae,” You whispered, choking up. Your eyes burned and filled unexpected  ly. He helped you up and unwrapped you, then he got your pajamas and set them on the bed before leaving the room with a soft promise to be right back. You changed, still upset and tearing up for the stupidest reasons. He came back into the room with a soft knock and his pillow, wearing his own pajamas. He guided you into the bed, covering you up with your regular blankets, and then got in on the other side. He cuddled up to you, gently brushing the stupid tears from your face. “It’s okay. It’ll be okay. We’ll make it okay.” You sighed, letting yourself relax under his touch. “I don’t even know why I’m crying.” “That’s okay too,” He rested his forehead against yours. “We have the night, and tomorrow for you to wind down.” “Just to start it all over again on Monday,” You murmured, squeezing your eyes shut. He let out a sympathetic whimper and pulled you fully into his embrace, pressing his lips to yours. He lingered in the gentle kiss, then barely a second after that kiss ended, he kissed you again. Firm, and with just a hint of passion. You met his eyes, blinking slowly. He shifted toward you, kissing you again, deeper. More. “The door is locked. He’s fast asleep. Let me show you. Let me take away your loneliness. I told you we’d go slow, and we have been. But I also told you that I would take care of you. I’ll take care of you.” He pressed kisses to your neck. You took a deep breath and then slid your fingers into his hair, remembering that night. You’d felt so certain. Hesitant, but certain. Until this week you’d still felt certain. “It’s his memory, right? Theo’s father? I’m sure all of this has felt like peeling a scab off.” “No, honestly, even talking about him…it doesn’t hurt that much anymore. It hurts, but it’s more of a sentimental hurt and less of a ‘I can’t say your name without crying’. I had to move past my grief quickly. I was pregnant. Theo was my miracle, a little piece of his father left here. I’m okay with that. But I used to be so scared that his family would come looking and find out Theo existed and try to take him away from me. That was the first thing that came to mind when Yoongi told me about Jimin. ‘All of my fears could come true’. That’s what I thought, and I knew it was irrational. There was no way for them to know about Theo because I hadn’t.” “Did Hoseok ever meet Theo’s father?” “Twice, never for more than an hour or two and they only actually talked the one time. The other Hoseok was busy trying to impress someone.” You smiled and shook your head at the memory. “What was the last thing you said to him?” He asked in a whisper. “ ‘Tell Brody that if he makes you late for our date I’ll staple his tongue to the bathroom door and then light his house on fire.’ Then I waved and blew him a kiss before I got in my car. He was laughing and walking toward his own car when I saw him last.” “And when you found out he died?” “He was late. I was dressed up for our date, waiting for him. He wasn’t answering his phone. I was getting ready to call Brody, when the doorbell rang. Brody insisted on being the one to tell me. He had just been released from the hospital. He stood in my doorway, leaning on his crutches, and crying. He didn’t really need to say it, it was obvious something bad had happened and seeing him beat up and crying…what else could it have been for him to come in person instead of calling?” “How much later did you find out about being pregnant again?” “Two weeks after he had been buried. Brody told me when the funeral was, and he said he’d take me, but…I couldn’t bring myself to go. I didn’t want to meet his family since he had always avoided talking about them. Brody put a picture of us in for me. I haven’t talked to him in a while. We usually only talk on the anniversary of that day. And he calls on Theo’s birthday. He got a really good job, but he’s pretty far away now.” You sighed and wiggled so that his head was just above yours, and you could tuck into his neck. He rubbed your back soothingly, relaxing completely. “Can we cuddle more? It’s lonely in my room.” He kissed the top of your head. You nodded, eyes closing tiredly. The way he touched you… You felt more comfortable than you had ever felt with any man. Including Theo’s father. You pulled away and met his eyes. “Theo’s going over to a friends house next Friday.” He looked confused, then his eyes widened before he smiled a little. “I’ll order us dinner. I can’t cook very well or I would.” You kissed him gently, then looked at him while biting your lip. “I’ll wear something nice.” His hand slid to your neck, then his finger caught the roots of your hair. At first you thought he was going to pull you into another kiss, but he guided your head back to the crook of his neck instead and wiggled until he was comfortable. “Goodnight, y/n.” You smiled, closing your eyes. “Goodnight, Taehyung. Love you.” He held you tightly, even as you realized what words slipped out of your mouth. “Love you too.”

Okay I found a pdf online of the Angel experiment and started reading it last night when I couldn’t sleep. It turned into less of a list of me complaining and more of a reaction as I relived my life in 6th grade. I’ve got the first four chapters + the prologue so I’ll do 5 chapters at a time. To keep from clogging dashes I’m going to drop this bad boy under the cut.
Book 1:
Prologue
•Oh my god I actually missed these prologues where the protagonist talks so dramatically to the reader like this. Gives me a real animorphs vibe hell yeah
•OH MY GOD 14 I USED TO THINK THAT WAS SO OLD WHAT HAPPENED
•WHOSE IDEA WAS IT TO RELEASE A LITERAL CHILD INTO THE WORLD LIKE THIS
•God I’m losing it this sounded like a deviant art bio
•Oh god I see where I got my flare for dramatic introductions
•It always bothered me that they’re only 2% bird. I feel like that might have given them some patches of feathers maybe instead of wings and improved hearing and sight and strength and metabolism an
•There it is again-“the only experiments to make it past infancy” I have a couple of books’ worth of proof that says that’s wrong. Yeah sure Max probably didn’t know about everything that was going on at the school but don’t sound so definitive about this. What is this, supernatural?
•Also why were the Erasers the only ones who could morph? Wouldn’t it be better to have wings that could morph into your back?? More useful???
•Also I hope the internet taught them about furries so they could make snide jokes tinged with nervous laughter about how Erasers are furries.
•“Welcome to our nightmare” GOD THAT'S SO 2005
•I still have no idea what Max meant by “if you read this story, you become part of the experiment.” I don’t see any wings popping out of my back, Miss, I’d like a refund.
Chapter 1
•GODDD NOW I SEE WHERE I GET MY WRITING STYLE I HATE THISSS
•Also still not sure what the whole point of this dream sequence was besides padding out a first chapter (which honestly? Mood). Any insight?
•W-if the Erasers are chasing after Max, why the fuck do they have bloodhounds? Isn’t wolf smelling on par, if not better than dogs’?? I understand this is a dream but like. Yo.
•Everyone always draws Max’s wings like eagle wings and they’re even colored like that in the manga, but the wiki says they resemble hawk wings. Hm.
Chapter 2
•Also the E shaped house always bugged me, too. The way it sounds, it’s not secluded by trees or anything, but Max says they’re totally hidden?? Surely someone goes hiking in the mountains around there.
•Ah yes. Jeb. Bastard man.
•Wait did he just. Fuckin up and leave? Like in the middle of the night like “bye kids gonna go get some milk” and never came back? How fucked up is that?
•And how the fuck did he expect three 12 year olds to take care of a 9 year old, a 6 year old, and a 4 year old by themselves??
•No doctors. Is Max part of the anti vaxx movement? Surely the folks at the lab weren’t like “well obviously they need all their shots if they’re to function normally in society and not die of chickenpox.”
•Also I like how dramatically this chapter ends. He literally could have kept going djsjfjsfn
Chapter 3
•Why is Gazzy a walking potty humor joke? That literally comes into play once in like the third to last book. #GiveGazzyTheCharacterDevelopmentHeDeserves2k19
•I forgot if this was mentioned but how do they know Gazzy and Angel are siblings? Is it just because they look similar?
•IGGY. SON.
•Also I’m remembering every page from the manga in like super high definition rn
•I saw someone else discuss this, but where in the fuck do they get food from?? Max makes it sound like she’s never gone into real society before and a 14 year old buying at least $1000 worth of groceries every week seems super sketch to literally any place ever.
•It always struck me as weird that Angel likes cozy places considering she lived in a dog crate for the first few years of her life.
•It’s so weird to me that literally the only person who got powers was Angel. The rest develop their (single use) powers along the way whenever it was convenient but I guess she just started out with hers? Idk I literally have no room to talk tho one of my ocs has inexplicable mind reading powers too lol
Chapter 4
•JDJSFJ THE CONVO AB THE STRAWBERRIES IS SO SHORT AND FORCED FJSJFJSJK I know it’s just to start the plot but shakfjajfjwj???
•CHAPTER 4 IS LITERALLY A PARAGRAPH LONG WHAT IN THE HELL
•Oh also why don’t they ever use Gazzy’s voice mimic thing?? JP could have made things where it was voice locked but Gazzy could have had a personality and been like “yo guys I got this!”
•Also how in the world can an 8 year old perfectly mimic a 14 year old’s voice? I’m guessing it’s an implied bird thing maybe.
•“Most of us had [weird abilities].” LITERALLY ONLY TWO OF YOU DO.
Chapter 5
•Oof trained? I can see why Jeb would train the kids to fight but like,,, yikes. Those are literal babies,,,,, plss
•Also I thought it was weird how they could just clap their hands around the Eraser’s ears and their eardrums would just fuckin pop. Do wolves really work like that? Someone who knows more about wolves than me look that up.
•Honestly?? The flock should have tons of scars n shit from all the times they’ve fought the Erasers. I’d really have liked to hear them come up at some point.
•Was there a reason they only wanted Angel or…? It’s been a long time since I read the series. From what Max was saying, pretty much half flock was out cold and would have been easy pickings for the Erasers to take back to the lab.
•Well the one thing I can say is that at least Ari is acting like a jealous seven year old.
•Lowkey wish there’d been more time to establish Ari, in hindsight. While we do get his view point in later books, we still really didn’t even get to know much about him. I’m not sure if that was for a reason or just a character who didn’t get developed. I wish there had at least been a name drop or something in the priori chapters like “I’m pretty sure Jeb had a son. Wonder where he went. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”
•Also I forgot again but was there a reason Jeb didn’t bring Ari along?? Like, he couldn’t have done the same things as the flock, sure, but at least he would be there with his dad and like, other kids near his age to interact with. Did we ever get any info ab Ari’s mom? Again, shitty memory.

Rules of Engagement, Book One. Chapter 1: The Heiress
Crew Member: Welcome to Ember of the Sea, the pinnacle of luxury cruise ships. Are you ready to embark on the summer of a lifetime? Sorry, they make me say that. Let me help you with your bags, Miss…? Juicy? You’re part of the group Mr. Singh has been waiting for. Right this way. From what I hear, you’re about to get some very interesting news. Have a seat. Trust me, this is a lot more scenic than our meeting rooms. I’ll tell him you’re here.
You take a seat at the pool bar and gaze out across the ship’s deck to the ocean.
Juicy: … Gorgeous.
???: I was just thinking the same thing. Can I get you a drink, beautiful?
Juicy: Do I look like I want you hitting on me?
???: Ha ha, slow down! I’m just doing my job.
Juicy: Oh! You’re the bartender.
???: Yep. But my friends call me Dog. So, what brings you to our corner of the ocean?
Juicy: Actually, it’s a bit of a mystery. I’m supposed to meet my grandmother’s lawyer here.
Dog: A lawyer, eh? Sounds like you could use that drink. What’ll you have?
Dog hands you a cocktail menu.
Dog: You know, I can tell a lot about a woman by her drink order.
Juicy: Whiskey on the rocks.
Dog: Interesting choice…
Juicy: Oh yeah? What does my drink say about me?
Dog: That you keep things simple.
He slides a tumbler of caramel-colored whiskey across the bar. You take a sip.
Dog: How is it?
Juicy: ...Perfect.
Dog nods and turns to help another customer. Suddenly, you feel someone come up behind you and wrap you in a big hug!
???: Sis! You’re finally here! Are you ready to get crazy tonight?
Juicy: Couture! I can’t believe you’re thinking about partying at a time like this. Aren’t you even a little curious about this mysterious meeting with the lawyer?
Couture: Sure… but that didn’t stop you from flirting with Mr. Hot Bartender!
Juicy: We were just talking.
Couture: Yeah, you’re way too slavish… er… loyal to your guy. I mean, I never liked him, but he is your fiance. Speaking of which, shouldn’t he be here right now?
Juicy: It’s a long story.
Couture: Sounds boring. I say, forget him. Let’s kick this cruise off right! A toast!
Couture snags a glass of champagne off the tray of a passing waiter.
Juicy: Let’s toast to family.
Couture: You always were the sweet one. To family!
You clink your glass with Couture’s and drink. As Couture downs hers, your attention is caught by a professional looking man in a crisp suit.
Dinesh: Ahem. Excuse me, ladies. I’m Dinesh Singh, and I have some paperwork for you to attend to…
Couture: Oh! You must be Nana’s… I mean, Grandma’s lawyer.
Dinesh: Precisely. Thank you for meeting me here. I know it’s highly unusual.
Couture: You mean highly awesome. I can’t believe Nana’s last wish was for us to take this cruise together. I mean, it would be way more awesome if she were here…
Dinesh: From my short time knowing her, it was clear that this summer trip was very important to her. I imagine she wanted you to enjoy your time together, as she did when she was your age on this cruise.
Juicy: Right. Nana never wanted us to worry about her. I miss her so much…
Dinesh: I have something that might just help with that. She left each of you a letter. I also have letters for your other two siblings and cousin when they arrive.
Couture: Oh, they’re running late. You may as well give us ours now.
Mr. Singh hands you each a sealed envelope. You stare at it for a moment.
Juicy: Wow, her last words to us… Couture, do you think we should do something special, like…
Turning, you see Couture has already ripped her letter open and begun reading it.
Couture: Oh. My. God. Juicy, open your envelope now!
You open the envelope…
Nana’s Letter: My dearest Juicy, I hope you’ll forgive me for keeping this from you, but I’ve seen wealth ruin many happy families, and I never wanted that for my children or grandchildren. But now that I’m gone, I want you to know the truth. And I hope you’ll honor my last wishes and find happiness from them.
Juicy: Wait, what does this mean?
Dinesh: Your grandmother was a very, very wealthy woman… And she’s left a $500 million fortune to split among you, your three siblings, and your cousin…
Couture: That’s… $100 million each! We’re rich!
Juicy: I can’t believe this is actually happening…
Dinesh: I assure you, this is very real.
Juicy: I could hire Ryan Gosling to be my butler!
Couture: Ooh, I want Channing Tatum! We can make them wash our cars! Okay, lawyer. I’m ready for my money now. I’ll take it in twenties…
Dinesh: Actually… your grandmother left you each specific instructions for how to receive your inheritance.
Juicy: Instructions?
Dinesh: They’re detailed in the letters.
You and Couture turn to the second page.
Couture: Oh no. This is bad. Here, look…
Nana’s Letter: Dearest Couture, You’ve never learned the value of hard work. To get your inheritance, you must keep a job on board the ship for the entire summer.
Couture: Nana’s making me work for this money! Didn’t she love me at all?
Juicy: Come on, you know Nana adored all of us. She practically raised us after Mom and Dad…
Couture: Yeah, except my life was all student loans and instant ramen when it could’ve been private jets and solid-gold Ferraris. Besides, it’s going to be impossible for me to do her task. Are you sure there aren’t any exceptions?
Dinesh: Unfortunately not. Your grandmother was very specific with the wording in her will.
Couture: But how am I even supposed to get a job here?
Dinesh: Arrangements have been made for you to work in the ship’s finest restaurant, Nomade. You start this week.
Couture: This week?! At least Juicy’s going to be there with me, right?
You read the rest of your letter…
Nana’s letter: Juicy, you’ve already found the love of your life. I know you’ve always struggled with being decisive and making commitments, so I want to help you overcome that. At the end of the summer, when the cruise reaches its final port, an elegant wedding has been prepared for you and your beloved fiance. You only need to make your vows to earn your share.
Couture: Pfft. That’s easy! You’ve got it made!
Juicy: Maybe not… Couture, can we talk in private?
Dinesh: I’ll take my leave. Should you have any questions, your grandmother stipulated that I stay on the ship for the duration of the summer to see her wishes carried out.
As Mr. Singh walks away, you and Couture head toward your cabin.
Couture: Okay, we’re alone now. Spill.
Juicy: It happened last night. My fiance...Dank… he had to work late at his startup and I finished packing for the cruise early… So I decided to surprise him with his favorite dinner.
Twelve hours earlier…
You walk into Dank’s startup office, holding a bag of takeout.
Juicy: (It’s so dark in here…)
???: Oooh, Dank! Yes!
Juicy: Hello? Dank?
You fumble for the switch and turn on the lights!
You see Dank on the couch… with a half-naked girl on top of him!
Half-Naked Girl: Uh, a little privacy please?
Juicy: Privacy?!
Dank: Juicy!
Half-Naked Girl: Ohh… You’re Juicy… This must be like, really sad for you.
Juicy: That’s one of the things I’m feeling.
Dank: I thought you were packing! What are you doing here?
You clench the takeout bag in your hand.
Juicy: Here’s your dinner!
You hurl the container at them, and it bursts open, sending spaghetti and meatballs flying! One smacks Dank right in the face!
Dank: Hey!
Half-Naked Girl: Eek!
With tears filling your eyes, you turn… and run.
Juicy: And that’s what happened.
Couture: Yikes. You caught your fiance cheating on you, and you just ran off?
Juicy: Not my best moment, I know.
Couture: Look, that guy was a jerk. None of us really liked him, and we were all secretly hoping you’d break up with him anyway.
Juicy: We really need to work on your pep talks.
Couture: I guess the big question is whether or not it’s worth $100 million to marry a lying, cheating, scumbag like Dank.
Juicy: Ugh. Never in a million years. To tell you the truth, I don’t even know if I can handle facing him ever again.
You reach your cabin… and pause.
Juicy: Wait a second, the door’s already open.
Couture: Housekeeping?
You nudge open the door and find…
Dank: Juicy!
Juicy: Dank?!
Dank: I’m so glad I found you! I can’t believe you just left without me! I have something to say…
Juicy: This better be good.
Dank: I made a mistake.
Juicy: I already knew that… Get out.
Dank: This is my room, too.
Juicy: Fine, then I’m leaving.
You turn to go.
Dank: Wait!
You storm out and Couture and Dank follow after you!
Dank: Juicy! Stop being childish! We need to talk!
Couture: Hello? She caught you cheating on her! You’re the last person she’d want to talk to!
Dank: Couture, stay out of this. I’ve listened to podcasts that last longer than your relationships. This is between me and Juicy. She knows she’s not blameless in all of this. A relationship is a complicated thing.
You veer out the exit and onto the main deck. Dank trips over himself to catch up to you.
Dank: Juicy, I never would’ve cheated on you if you hadn’t been so distant. You practically pushed me into Sabrina’s arms!
You stop short and stare at him in disbelief.
Juicy: I… what?
Couture: You know, Dank, it’s good you’re here. Perfect, really, because my sister’s got something she wants to tell you. Right, Juicy?
Couture nudges you in the ribs.
Couture: Come on, this is your chance to really let him have it!
Juicy: I’ve got nothing to say. I don’t want to talk to you, Dank.
Dank: You can’t just shut me out.
Couture: Just watch us! Now back off, or I’m calling security.
Dank sighs.
Dank: Come on, Juicy… We’ve spent the last five years together. Are you really going to break up with me? And just hope you find someone new? Who else is gonna put up with all your little quirks and insecurities? I know you. I’m the only one who’ll ever love you.
You say nothing. He turns to go.
Dank: Forget it. I’ll give you some space. You obviously need it. But this isn’t over.
Dank leaves.
Couture: Ugh, what a jerk.
Juicy: He’s not wrong… My whole life was built around him. What if he’s right? I mean, I know you enjoy being single, but I hate it. And even Nana wanted me to marry him. It’s the only way to get my inheritance.
Couture: I’m sure Nana wouldn’t have wanted this. Actually… let me see that letter again.
You both look at the letter…
Couture: Nana never said you had to marry Dank. Just someone. You’ve got the whole summer to find a new fiance!
Juicy: That’s not a lot of time…
Couture: That doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Ever heard of love at first sight? You totally have a chance at this.
Juicy: … You know what? I can do this. I’m not going to let Dank ruin my life and make me miss out on $100 million.  I’ve got a dream wedding waiting for me at the end of the summer and three months of a luxury cruise to the most romantic places on earth. There’s a man out there who’s going to love me for me… And I’m going to find him.

Can you keep a secret? Yes.
Your favorite romantic movie? I have several. I’m a sucker for the romcoms.

Is there a sport/hobby you keep thinking about taking up, but that you’ve never quite gotten around to starting? Not that I can think of at the moment.
Do you think pranks like egging/toilet-papering someone's house are funny or immature? Immature and stupid. And just a shitty thing to do.
Do you think “sleeve tattoos” are a good idea? Not my thing, but I don’t care if other people want to do it.
Do you ever actually read the “Terms and Services” when you sign up for websites and such? No. :X
If you have a handheld games console (a DS or GameBoy, for example), how often do you use it? I have a Switch, but I haven’t used it since earlier this year.
Your phone is ringing. It’s the person you fell hardest for, what do you say? I wouldn’t even answer to be honest.
If your best friend was kicked out, would your parents let him/her live with you? My best friend is my mom, whom I live with.
Are you afraid of falling in love? Yes. Didn’t go well the couple times I did.

Who was the last person to be in your bedroom besides you? My brother.
What’s one of your locked text messages? I don’t have any. Does the iPhone even do that?
Have you ever finished a game of Monopoly? I think so.
Is there anyone you know who’s in any way paralyzed? Yes, me.
The truth all comes out when someone is drunk, true? It can.
When was the last time you felt disappointed in yourself? I’ve been feeling that way the past few years. Just continuous disappointment.
How about feeling disappointed in someone else? A couple days ago.
For you, do you commonly feel more jealousy or envy? Envy.
Do you rely on the heads/tails flipping of a coin sometimes for decisions? No.
Do you have any specific chores you do around the house? I haven’t been much help the past few years. Especially not now.
For you, does comfort or fashion come first in dressing? Comfort, hands down. That doesn’t mean it can’t be cute, though. Like, I love my oversized graphic tees. They’re cute/cool and comfy.
Have you had two friends that absolutely hated each other? No.
Do you like Laffy Taffy? I liked the banana ones. I couldn’t tell ya the last time I had one, though.

Are there a lot of trees in your yard? No, just one.
Have you ever liked someone that treated you like crap? Yes.
Have a best friend? Yes.
Does it bother you when your best friend does stuff without you? Only when she goes on a vacation without me haha. That’s just my envy and bitterness about not being able to do much right now due to health reasons. She absolutely deserves to go and I of course want her to go.  She goes like less than a handful of times, if that, so it’s not even much. I wish she could take more trips for herself. The past 3 years one of those trips was one she went on with her sisters and she’s planning another this year, but isn’t sure if she’ll be able to because I’ve needed more help these past few months due to health reasons and some things only she can help me with because she knows how and I only feel comfortable with her doing. I feel really bad because I don’t want her to have to cancel, she’s really been looking forward to it and I know it’s something she needs for her own wellbeing because she’s been stressed and spread thin having to deal with a lot of things.
Is there a secret you’ve never told your parents? Yes.
Does anyone hate you? Possibly.

Have a built-in pool in your backyard? No.
Ever won yourself a stuffed animal? No.

Has a boy/girl ever walked a ridiculous distance just to see you? How about vice versa? No.
When was the last time you felt really uncomfortable? Now because it’s so hotttt D:
Is there anything that your mom is really known for as to how she is as a person? Everyone loves and wants to befriend my mom. She’s funny and sarcastic and people just think she’s cool and fun to be around.
Who have you been talking to the most today? It’s 4:30AM, I haven’t talked to anyone so far.
Are you nosy? I can be sometimes lol.
What’s the meanest thing you have done to a friend? Push them away. :/
If your ex called you crying, what would it most likely be about? I have absolutely no idea why they would be crying or why they’d be calling me. It’s been almost 5 years since we’ve seen or talked, so that would be completely out of the blue.
Who was the best kisser out of all the people you have kissed? Joseph.
Have you ever been told that you have an annoying laugh? No.

Don't know what to do with myself. via /r/selfimprovement
Don't know what to do with myself.
Hi. I'm 21 and still in community college, but I did get my provisional admission to this university I wanted to transfer to. I work as a runner at Din Tai Fung and I'm supposed to make bank, but I don't really know yet because I'm a new employee. Headtitle question at the bottom
I think I've lived an okay-ish life, kind of. story time, skip to the end if you dont wanna read it I come from a Korean family, can't say I remember much of my childhood except mostly being beaten and yelled at. There were good times too, but they usually ended prettily shittily. Moved around a bunch, went to a lot of schools. I've dealt with a lot of abusive stuff from both parents, but I'm not going to talk about my mom because things have gotten better and she's still here for me(?). For some extreme stuff- my dad broke my brothers toes in elementary school. In my senior year, he threatened me at knifepoint and forced it into my hands and told me to stab my brother or he would stab me. Beatings from him were pretty bad, and it's not just belts and sticks bad. I played co-ed baseball in 5th grade, so bam, there was that too. He liked to throw chairs and literally flip tables when he was angry (hes a private construction worker, so he's pretty strong). Broke a lot of his phones throwing them at us, the wall, the floor, whatever. Ive had a lot of problems with my social affairs in highschool- anxiety, being cold, being short tempered, aggressive, violent, sharp tongued. I started warming up in senior year because of this girl I dated, which was a pretty big deal because gays are not allowed in this household. And well, im bi but its the same thing to them. Can't say that went too well, because my brother found out and blackmailed me in the situation we were living in. But who cares, because siblings hate each other right? Anyways, broke up with her, broke her heart, treated her poorly and whatever two years later we made up and was able to be friends again. Back to dad- he was usually never around for things like elementary grad, middle school grad, and highschool- my mom made him come, but he sure didn't seem happy about it. In highschool, he only laid down on his phone playi ng his shitty phone games. Doesnt talk to me, doesnt talk to my brother, doesnt talk to my mom. His routine: wake up, go to work, come home, phone games, eat, phone games, sleep. If you try to talk to him, he ignores you. If you press it, he'll give you some boring answer like "go away already".
Anywho, that abusive fuck was caught cheating. Had an affair with a client's sister. Sold the house we lived in, mom moved to Newark, him to San Leandro. Mom didnt want to deal with me, so I got the boot and lived wjth acquaintances in Hayward. Couldnt afford it, so mom told me to move to San Leandro with him. I moved in with my best friend helping me and we saw the evidence. Bambam, hello lady clothing and shit. I went apeshit nuts and he tried to convince me, then threatened that I would be in big trouble if i said anything. (Parents were separated but not divorced). Alright, ill keep my big mouth shut.
I worked for his "girlfriend" at her cafe in Berkeley. Why? Well, it was easy money and i needed it to keep up with my shitty coping habits- partying and party favors, mostly e. You dont have to deal with stress if youre always out partying.
Anywho, fast forward, skip a lot of details. Mom gets a phone call one day from mutual acquaintance saying dad is sick and asks her to bring him some food. Alright. So she does because she still cares, and finds out the truth. Calls me and demands me to come right now and unlock the door- note that this is a 40 minute drive. By the time i get there, theres hella police and a window is broken and theres hella shit going on. Things settled down but being my immature ass i scream at my parents for both being immature, and they shouldve just cut things clean. I yell at my dad for being a fuckhead and cheating, you didnt raise a liar but you are one. I yell at my mom for being irresponsible and breaking things. Police grabs my shoulder but i swipe it off and bam. Im on the floor, face into concrete, chipped teeth and i cant even see where my dog is. Tbh i was more worried that he ran off because he was still a puppy and i was holding him during this whole ordeal. My glasses got knocked off my face when those two officers fucking bodyslammed me into the ground. I'm 5ft4, i weighed like 130 at this time but im just a legit smol asian girl.
What happened next? Well yknow, i got arrested and sent to jail for assaulting a police officer, nbd. Sat there for a few hours, listening to some psycho making weird noises. Finally get some call saying that my mom was waiting for me, and she bailed me out. She was crying a lot and told me that my dad didnt even bat an eye as they took me away, that he smiled and tried to fix his goddamn broken window. I believe it too, because I saw that shitty smirk on his face when i got to the scene. My mom has a bit of an uncontrollable temper so she looks psycho when the other person was the wack one. This was in January 2017.
Skip forward to the next police thing. June 2017. My mom demands that i pack all my shit and move back, and she wants to go with me. I plead no, but what am i gonna do against her? Alright, we drive and she starts saying stuff about lying and calls the bitch a slut and homewrecker and stuff, dad gets up to stand inbetween and stuff. Tells her to move than basically shoves her across the living room towards the door. **insert hysteria and bam again, screaming and each other, his hands on her, me trying to squeeze my body in between them and get his hands off of her. Doesnt really work cos he turns on me, hits me away and goes back to beat her. My screaming doesnt really help either, but i try what I can to claw his arms off of her. Nooooo, bad idea, but better me than her. He grabs me and my head is locked into his elbow so I bite down, arm. Baaaad idea again, but its in self defense imo. Im just trying to help my mom. He p much beats me up into a pulp her, grabs my shirt all the way up and yikes thats embarassing. The struggle goes on and eventually its calm again because slutface is like "honey staph"- note: only words and no actions to get close, buuuut, it works. Me and mom move to my room and start removing all my weebshit from the walls. Mom is muttering and saying a bunch of bs for him to hear and he storms into the room because hes fucking triggered and start the violence again. Oh but this is where i do the fun thing- i lunge myself at him so im like on top of him but holy shit, he legit pulls me off of him and throws me against the wall cabinets, and two hand chokes me, with his knees on my chest. Mom starts screaming at him, claws his face and soon the police are here and shit. Bitch called the police, and this is where it gets more fucked up. I legally live here, its on my license. I came back to move out, so its okay for me to be here, because i came to pack my stuff and take whats mine. So why exactly did the police not believe me? Why did my mom get arrested for putting dumb scratches on his face when he beat us, with pictures - that day- to prove that he inflicted more wounds on us. We were just defending ourselves. He put his hands on us first. Anyways, that starts my worries cos im like. Im 20, but idk what to do. How do i find money to bail my mom out? How do i even do that in the first place? But i managed.
Anywho skip forward, jackass is no longer in my life, tho i have to deal with him through my brother from time to time. Parents officially divorced Feb 2018. I've lived with my mom, she bought a cafeteria for a little bit so I worked there. Things were really hard because my mom had a lot of pent up anger that she would take out on me. My brother moved out because he went to university so he didnt really have to deal with much. Im also the older child, so bam. Anyways, we fought a lot. A LOT LOT. Like apeshit crazylot. I took a lot of beatings. It was like the weekend before Christmas of 2017 where a took a huge beating and ran away from my problems by going to my now-ex's house. He offered me to move in with him and his family, so I did. I had the choice of going back to my moms lifestyle and attempt to make up, or trying to live a different life. I lived with him from like Christmas to March 2018. We started having a lot of problems because he regret inviting me, he wasnt ready to give up his personal space and I was done babysitting someone who was older than me. Doing his laundry, doing his dishes, cleaning his room. I was done with being bored, never going out, being ignored while he did the same thing my dad did. Sit on his phone and not speak a word. Yeah, there were good times too, but they seem so fleeting when it seeps in with your own personal trauma of being ignored. Btw- when i moved to his place, my brother moved back home to fill the gap, but my brother is better with dealing with my mom and she doesnt blow up at him.
After I moved back, it was better. Yeah, shit went down sometimes but i guess overall it was better? My mom cried a lot. I would hear her talk on the phone with her family members in Korea and cry about how she was tired of everything and didn't want to do it anymore. I know exactly how that feels. Well, in the later months of 2018, we got along better and havent really had those blowups. I tried my best to stay home more instead of going out at night because she hated it. I tried to be nicer to her and more compromising. She's in Korea rn and things suck. During the whole parents thing, it sucks to feel like your parents are passing you to each other likea toy they dont want. It sucks to not really feel familial love growing up, where mom is just doing things because shes supposed to and dad just flat out pretends you dont exist. It sucks that it takes two years of partying, drugs and cons to find out

Survey #274
“now i can hear the marching feet / they’re moving into the street”
What color was the last swimsuit you wore? I only have a black one. Is your dream job attainable? I mean define “dream job.” I’d ideally be a meerkat biologist if I was willing to live in Africa and could handle even mild heat, but I can’t/won’t do either of those, so it’s not obtainable to me. I’d also love to be a paleontologist if I could travel and handle heat once more, but again, I can’t. My only *attainable* dream job is being a photographer, which I am aiming for. I’d LIKE to focus on nature/wildlife photography, but that’s unlikely to be able to support me, so. Do you have to go to school or work tomorrow? N/A Have you slept for longer than usual today? Yes, but only because of my nightmares. I tend to take at least two (though sometimes one) hour-long naps during the day because if I wake up once during the night, as I usually do, I’m fucked because I’m very likely to have an intense nightmare. It seems like the medicine I’m on wears off with consciousness, I guess. I only allow myself to sleep an hour at daytime because my mother has noticed if I have a nightmare, it’s usually no earlier than one hour into sleep. Even then I still have them occasionally. Have you ever taken classes for a musical instrument? Recorder in elementary school was necessary for whatever stupid reason, and then I played the flute for years. Out of school, I took guitar lessons for a while. I got semi-decent (at best I could do the intro to “Crazy Train” at normal speed, I think), but it didn’t last because it was annoying/time-consuming to build up the calluses that make playing painless, I was really bad at overthinking where my fingers were, and I just wasn’t invested quite enough. I’ll tell you, it gave me mad respect for guitarists, that shit isn’t easy by any means. Have you ever been on vacation with someone other than your family? Yes, though it was brief. I was a kid (okay, pre-teen, w/e) still in my separation anxiety from Mom phase and it was literally because of me we had to go home. I still feel shitty about it, though no one seemed upset at me. How old do you think you’ll be when you move out on your own? Who the fuck even knows anymore. Do you have a job? If so, where do you work? If not, do you want one? No; N/A; yes ultimately but no at the current moment because I have to keep watch over Mom. If you wear make-up, which brand of foundation/powder do you use? N/A Would you call yourself a “people” person? Nope. What is one change you need to make in your life this month? Just one??? What’s been tugging on your heart lately? My PTSD plus self-image has been very, very bad. What is the last thing you did that made you feel guilty? Mom had to clean up my cat’s projectile vomit even though she’s supposed to stay away from this kinda stuff through chemo. I literally cannot fucking touch vomit, never mind what came out of him that night. I felt like absolute fucking shit and I still do because WOW I’m a great adult right!! Do you have any physical traits that are bothering you lately? Like, everything. What kind of dog is your favorite? I’m biased to beagles. What was the last thing you received in the mail? A book. What is the last thing you wrote? Like, physically? My signature at the doctor’s office. Do you still care about the person you first kissed? Way fucking more than I should. Do you require a lot of private time? Definitely more than most people. Do you have any songs currently stuck in your head? I haven’t listened to it in forever for ~reasons~, yet “The Mortician’s Daughter” is stuck in my head badly and really needs to fuck off. What was the last song you downloaded? I dunno, I went on a download binge a while back. Have you ever read a really funny book? I remember at least one. “Bite Me” by IDR-Who. Some vampire satire. Have you ever done something humiliating while drunk? Never reached the point of being drunk. How would you react if your celebrity crush came to your door? fuckin YIKES I am NOT attractive rn go away Has your mom/dad ever walked in on you kissing or anything more with someone? HAHA my mom has always had the decency to knock, not so much his mom a;lwkejrewoei but the answer’s still no. What electronics are in your room? (DVD player, CD player, etc) This laptop, my phone, a Nintendo DS, my iPod… Do you have a box anywhere with special items you'll to keep forever in it? Yes, actually. Grew up calling them “treasure boxes.” Do you have any pictures of yourself on your bedroom walls? Lol no, I’d definitely prefer to not see myself as much as I can. That sounds melodramatic, but I’m being serious. It either depresses me or makes me angry. Does your dad collect anything? The Cleveland Browns’ football team stuff, for one. Maybe Carolina Hurricane stuff, too? Idk. I don’t live with him and don’t go in his “man cave” at his house often ha ha. What's better, a desktop or laptop? Explain. A laptop. Portable; that’s all the explanation ya really need. Do your parents still hide chocolate eggs around on Easter for you? Nah. What do you typically do on Easter Day? We go to my sister’s house to watch the kids do their egg hunting and open their gifts, then we usually go to Ashley’s in-laws’ for dinner. Is there anyone you literally need to exist? Apparently not. Thought so. Never let yourself into that state of mind. What would you prefer to get from a guy/girl: flowers, a hand-written poem, a picture he drew of you or a nice night out? Oh, a hand-written poem would wreck me, yeesh. Or a drawing. But any would be very sweet. Do you remember why you made the last mistake you did? I don’t know the most recent mistake, but probably because I’m just in general a terrified person who second-guesses or overanalyzes everything. Did you check how many calories the last thing you ate had? Yes. I’m back on my calorie-counting obsession again. Are your nails long or short? Short, always. I can’t keep them long. What is your favorite kind of cookie? Just the ordinary chocolate chip is fine. What was the last compliment you received? I don’t know. Who will be the next person you kiss? I normally delete this question because the answer should be so obvious, but I feel like just pointing it out that no one fucking knows who they’re gonna kiss next. It’s a dangerous mindset. Don’t make assumptions about what you’ll have even tomorrow. Have you ever made your own icon? Yeah, on many sites. They’re just about always just edits, though, not truly original work. What color is your computer mouse? It’s black. Have you ever been sung to on your birthday in a restaurant? Yes. Do you like black olives? I don’t like olives period. Do you actually think there will be a zombie apocolypse? Personally, no. I do think it’s scientifically possible, we already see this in insects, but I just don’t imagine it happening to humans before we’re our own downfall. Do you like the person you’ve become over the past years? Fuck no. Have you ever gone to church just to get a significant other? … No…? Have you ever punched a wall out of complete anger? No, that shit is terrifying. Are you really ticklish? YES don’t fucking touch me. How do you decide what you're going to eat each day? I just follow what I’m craving that day. How are you similar to your siblings? Different? Compared to Ashley and Nicole at least, I can’t think of any real similarities off the top of my head. They’re intelligent, motivated, outgoing, successful, yada yada, then there’s me. What's your favorite type of non-fiction literature? Autobiographies by people I’m actually interested in. Do you believe in souls? Soulmates? Souls, absolutely. Soulmates, no. It’s fairytale ideation to think your soul has a perfect match with another, hate to break it to ya. Favorite soundtrack? BITCH don’t make me choose between Shadow of the Colossus and Silent Hill 2. Fucking masterpieces. Pianos or guitars? *shrugs* Depends on the music and my mood. Did an animal ever bite you? Never seriously. How many languages do you speak? Only English fluently. I’m poor at German by now. Wiggly worms or bumble bees? Worms gross me out, bees are Good Boys. Religion? I don’t really identify with any. I just believe there’s some form of ultimate intelligence and essences beyond just the body, and that’s all I even pretend to know. Fog, thunder, or rain? Fog gives me that Silent Hill Vibe *Italian kiss* What regret keeps coming back to haunt you daily? The way I treated Jason after the breakup. If you could cure yourself of one allergy, what would it be? Damn pollen. Do you know anyone else with your name? Yeah. What would you be most afraid of happening if you were to visit Africa? Viruses or botflies. Where are you tempted to move to sometimes? I very legitimately want to live in Canada by now, but I won’t because I’m not moving that far from family. Who seems like they have the perfect life? I try not to make that assumption of anyone. Do you ever take pictures of negative moments? Does taking pictures of roadkill count???? lmao probably Do you think it would be a good idea to post photos of negative moments as well as positive? Well… I guess it depends. Like ngl, the pictures some people share of them having panic attacks to just show how fucking real they are definitely touch you, as do those depicting poverty, etc., BUT I really do think there are limits and also differences in motivations. What time zone are you in? EST. Would you ever post a picture of yourself crying on social media? Wow, speaking of. No. ^Why or why not? I am an UGLY cry-er, my man. But I also just don’t want people to see that, and it’s definitely not on my mind to take a picture during a breakdown. What was the last thing you cried about? My life. Have you ever held a newborn baby? Yes. Do you know anyone who has twins? Yes. Where do you buy calendars from? I don’t. Do you shop at the dollar store often? Not *often*, but we’ll stop by for a snack or something sometimes. Are you following in the career path of any family members? No. Do you feel you missed out on a lot as a kid? I guess in some ways. Who was that best friend you ever had? Sara. What color is your laptop? Black. What are five careers you think you’d be good at? My work history has shown I can’t do shit right. Are you thriving in your life right now? lmao no one is in 2020. Who do you have moral support from? My family, doctor, and a few friends. Who encourages you to go after your dreams? The same as above. Do you have people in your family who want you dead? Wow, I hope not. Do you have a walk-in closet? No, but my room at the new house will. :’) Not that I need one, it’s just pretty cool. How do you feel about people like Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos having so much power and control in the world? Do you believe that any one person should have so much power? Let’s be real, in our current world, money is power, and no one should have that much control of the world, especially if your intentions are bad. NOW I don’t know jack shit about any of those are far as morals go, but just saying. It’s dangerous. Has your anxiety alone ever prevented you from doing something you wanted to do? This is ACTUALLY the story of my fucking life. Do you enjoy reading stories and novels that are heavily stylistic, poetic, or unconventional or do you prefer your prose to follow a familiar grammatical structure? Okay, I LOVE those, like Johnny Got His Gun and The Handmaid’s Tale that’s kinda like, run-on writing. Just letting a train of thought go. Those are two of the most powerful books I’ve ever read and they’re both written in a unique fashion. Have you ever fallen for any sort of Internet-based hoax? (e.g., fake celeb death, satire news article…) I’m sure at some point, especially as a kid. Do you tend to read reviews before you watch a movie or read a book? What do you hope to get out of doing so? NO. I don’t wanna have any precognition. When you go to a concert, how far must you travel for the most usual venues you visit? Most are on the other end of the state, and NC is long, so. We’re lucky if they come to Raleigh. Do you rent movies frequently? I never do, really. What is your favorite thing to do outside? Take pictures or swim. What’s your favorite meal to cook? I don’t cook. What movie has been taken WAY too far, as far as sequels go? Oh, I’m sure there are some, but none immediately come to mind. I’m not that into movies. Do you refuse to eat certain foods because of what they look like? Yes. I am VERY poor at getting past how a food looks. What are you listening to? Does your make-up stay for a long time after you first apply it, or do you find that you need to reapply often? Are you wearing any make-up atm? I pretty much never wear makeup so have never really had a reason to reapply it. I’m definitely not wearing any now. Does your kitchen have a theme? No. Do you like ice cream sandwiches? GIRL yes. Do you prefer earbuds or headphones? Earbuds. They’re more comfortable imo but more importantly block out exterior noise very well. Are you a fan of any independent films? ngl, I don’t know exactly what that is and I don’t feel like looking it up. Could you possibly write a successful novel? I very genuinely think some of the RP stories I’ve taken part in are novel-worthy, yes. I wanted to make them books when I was younger, but now I no longer do mainly because there are areas that are just way too fucking dark that I don’t wanna put out there but play massive parts in the stories, so like… Do you regularly watch the news? I never do. Facebook is my “news” source lmao. Who was the last person you video-chatted with? I don’t remember for sure, maybe some doctor? What do you want the theme of your wedding to be? I don’t really think about this, seeing as my mind has changed enough, and it also depends on what my partner wants, too. Have you ever been caught passing a note in class? I have a spiked choker, and I might still have gloves with studs? Can you remember what you last clapped for? My mom’s birthday! :’) Have you ever given a pet to someone else? Yes, with cats; we had to do that quite often when I was a kid because we had so many cats, none which we could afford to fix. Then we’ve done it with two dogs we just couldn’t handle. Oh yeah, I gave my iguana away too because he was too high maintenance for me, but also because he DESPERATELY needed a much bigger terrarium, which we couldn’t afford. I absolutely could not watch him in that tiny tank. I miss him a LOT, but he went to a wonderful home! The lady who adopted him sent me pictures upon pictures months after taking him in. Have you or have you ever considered messing around with the same sex? I’m bisexual so you can guess I’m not opposed to it. Are you particular about any brands of food you will or will not eat? Are there any restaurants you refuse to go to? Brands, no. I don’t eat Chick-fil-a because they’re run by fucking homophobic bigots that monetarily support conversion therapy and other anti-LGBT projects. I’m not giving you any fucking money. What was the most current dream you can remember about? Do you generally dream every night, or hardly at all? It was actually last night, when I dreamed about accidentally running into Jason where I last knew he worked, and he was really hostile. If I don’t take my medicine, I always have nightmares when I sleep.
