So.

Ficverse/Espersong Saga. Began as my silly 'Sunderedswap' for Ascians, since I wanted to make a slightly different Eorzea. And Minfilia as WoL. Just a simple FF14 re-write.

Note: One of the sunderedswaps is a VA joke, the other is a pun. (Nabriales - who was Balthier back when Ivalice existed. Mitron? Well. I am amused at the pun Mitronbryda and it is so funny.)

(I also wanted to put some sundered souls in Scions, because Emets' soul being inside Thancred is funny, and then Sundered Lahabrea getting so pissed off and trying to possess him to wake him up.)

(Mitron also has been doing stupid stuff, like. Splitting soul in half so half can be with the sundered Loghrif and the other half can do Rejoining Stuff. Nabriales, meanwhile, is just getting freaked out by the fact several former FF12 souls have been reborn and maybe they'll figure him out?)

And then I sprinkled in Dissidia mostly, but then added more. Alexander, for example, being this high and mighty deity? Mixing that with 14 Lore has been so fun! Alexander meddling with time and trying to reconstruct worlds after Dissidia Shinryu devours them. And then claimed an avatar and well, they call it enthrallment because what else could it be? And then Ardyn is sleeping with Solus (it's not romantic, they just both miss their partners.)

And then me sliding in some of my other AUs and making them work in this Big Universe. It's just. My Passion Project and has so many funny facts.

I did begin writing and publishing it before 6.0, so some things have been re-worked - but some haven't. Damnit I chose a role for the Heart of Sabik, I'm keeping mine. But the Endsinger, for example, gave me the chance to be like 'okay shinryu hasnt eaten this world yet because got distracted'.

Barnacles Psyche and Trauma Post

Listen y'all we all know the canon event where lil bro got stuck in a hole when he was a kid. Little polar bear scout cub, ice broke under him, got trapped in a deep little hole and was left all alone while waiting for the others to *maybe* figure out a way to rescue him.

Now the guys claustrophobic, HOWEVER-

bro coulda died

how long was he left all alone, possibly for the first time as a kid? he didn't even have his twin that's like, that's terrifying-

did he wonder if they'd even come back? If they'd even be able to find a way to get him out lest he freeze or starve to death in a hole? Rationally we'd assume hey they'd find an adult if they failed, but cmon, a panicked kid is not gonna assume that.

do you think he wouldn't have tried to escape on his own? only to fail and fail? helpless?

In the earlier seasons of The Octonauts, there was a certain incident that always stuck out to me, even when I watched it years ago-

OCTONAUTS AND THE MANATEES

During this episode, captain barnacles had been out driving the GUP-A when it was struck by lightening. Soon after, the octonauts realize there's a group of manatees that are close to the surface of the dangerous thunderstorm. Their plan is to transport the manatees to the octopod during the storm since manatees can't just dive down because they need to breathe air.

Barnacles has open communication and guides them all step by step for this entire operation, complications and all, through his octo compass.

Even though Barnacles tried to ignore the lightening strike by diving deeper into the water, the GUP still got struck, which caused to spin out of control and crash. Even the spread of electricity in the water is dangerous. As a result, he got his forearm crushed and stuck under a clam for the entire sequence of events I'm going to describe.

Sounds the octoalert realizing the danger the manatees are in by using a piece of seaweed and sticky limpet to grab onto his octo compass.

Barnacles claims he's "doing something else at the moment" when questioned where he is. He also gets actively stung by a jellyfish during the call and does not inform anyone.

There are BARRACUDAS who might attack the captain because of his shiny octo compass, and he has to struggle to hide behind the clam and some rocks while advising the octonauts about how to handle the manatees slow nature and needs. He does not inform anyone.

Barnacles escapes the BARRACUDAS that were far too close to shredding him alive by essentially jumping off an underwater cliff and ending up on the back of a whale, in which he is violently turned and rolling along the back of.

Barnacles is launched by the force of the whale's tail into an actual shipwreck. He continues to guide them through the difficulties of the mission due to the fact there is still one manatee left that may not be able to be transported to the octopod in time.

Barnacles air tank is on low and is actively running out before his eyes, he struggles with removing his arm from the heavy clam as he attempts to use a piece of wood to pry his arm out. He does not tell anyone.

Barnacles manages to escape at the last moment, and is forced to forfeit wearing his helmet as there is no oxygen left. Previously they had flipped the GUP D in order to make a safe airpocket in deeper waters for the manatee, which Peso and Kwazii witness the captain (while holding his own breath) swimming too.

He barely made it.

When questioned where he'd been anyways, he lightheartedly states, and I quote, "Oh, let's see... I was uh... struck by lightning, eaten by a giant clam, stung by a jellyfish, attacked by barracudas, escaped off the back of a blue whale, smashed into a shipwreck, freed myself, ran out of air and... eh... Oh yeah, found you."

LIKE LISTEN MAN, I do not care if he "knew what he was doing" or whatever that is NOT a normal OR healthy response! "Oh but the captain always prioritizes protecting others and he understoo-

NO, he could have literally told his crew, and sure, they were in an "all hands on deck" situation, but he didn't even tell anyone! someone else could have adjusted the plan, someone else could have lessened the responsibility, someone else HAD THE POSSIBILITY OF HELPING

hell even if they had to get professor inkling out he probably would've if he knew BARNACLES MIGHTVE BEEN CLOSE TO DYING, the professor gets out just to protect some small fish that cant rely on a lionmaine jellyfish and he deals with literal predators?! why wouldn't he try to help the captain? and does he seriously think NO other member of theoctonauts would try to find a way to help him? Not the crafty tweak? Not the caring peso? not the daring kwazii? That shellington or dashi might not even have a word of advice?

I raise you all a little theory that is true in my heart and in my au, the subconscious question beneath our lovely captain's psyche:

"What if I am trapped and none of them can help me? Will I have to accept that I'm alone? Again?"

What if it was easier to pretend everything was fine and he had everything totally under control? You don't have to rely on others if you can rely on yourself. You don't have to worry if they'll just deem you a lost cause (like what peso asked about the last manatee... if it was even possible to save...) Forced to wait as you're trapped and in pain....

Anyways in my au I made his dad die when he was like 3 lol, due to a certain natural incident caused by, oh my what's this-, GLOBAL WARMING AGAIN . I bet his mom had a hard time that surely wouldn't have effected him and given him a strict desire to help help help- that lead u to being the defacto guy to offer his help and thoughts as a polar bear cub scout which just made people look to you automatically.

Anyways then the octonauts were born and they were all very happy and suddenly barnacles (despite the trial and error when it was just those three) actually had a plan and could Make A Difference and have control

cuz idk if y'all realize but like, (for me I see them living like a blend of how us humans live, but just socially inspired from the wild thing irl. so maybe they got like Earth Sheltered Homes (think hobbit houses) but with snow and whatever) but basically global warming for Arctic Folk of all countries isn't just like "oh no we cant do our VERY IMPORTANT TRADITIONS WEVE CARRIED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS" but its also like the loss of cultural jobs, literal homes becoming weaker, more natural disasters and idk about y'all but... doesn't it just feel like their entire culture is dying?

sure, they could just "move somewhere else" but that means giving up their land, not being able to uphold their traditions, being forced into communities that they don't have any social niches for. being forced to lose generational jobs and trades. physically struggling in warmer environments. (I headcanon barnacles has to not just cut and trim his fur, but also has to have a sort of cooling pack system under his clothes cuz bros got blubber yk?)

its literally the death of an ancient culture due to corporate greed, and he's watching it actively die out in real time. That's gut wrenching. I can only image.. how... Helpless he must've felt before he could help others who struggled from disasters too.

Anyways he has a "I have to help and adopt everyone" complex thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

As for the scars, @traumatizedartist Im gonna be honest I don't know why younger me (during my first hyperfixation of octonauts) went "hm... suspicious that bianca doesn't have a husband..." but basically APPARENTLY bianca is just divorced and they ex tried to Idk take ursa and Orson's custody rights and was a *ahem* very bad douche bag about it and the like. Well cmon man I think barnacles deserves to have a side of himself he doesn't want to share!

Like I'm so sorry but if ur telling me I SHOULDNT have made the captain literally get into a real polar bear fight and get the scars (of victory) while trying to protect his own family-

listen I know he's the "lets talk it out even f ur trying to eat me" type, but people aren't animals (very funny to our perspective ik ik) and if someone can fully understand the situation and the threats their making, like animals act on instinct mostly, but people can CHOOSE to suck.

People can CHOOSE to be selfish and greedy, so if you're tired of always trying to talk things out over and over and the guy you FCKING HATE is right there acting threatening and crazy you're absolutely gonna remember the years your sister spent going rough on you in play fights (fond memories and very educational<3) you're absolutely gonna show her how good you are by beating her ex up.

he does have excellent communication skills and is generally happy though, he just has some repressed emotions and a weird complex or two that isn't that healthy

It is a rare thing though, which makes it worse. You forget and feel completely safe, just walking down the street with him and then he brushes your ribs and you are totaled

Ya know, Charlie just doesn’t strike ya as a person who would be ticklish ngl. Like his sides, feet, neck, nothing. Try as you might nothing. You’ve tried to get him back, trying anything to take revenge, nothing 😔😔

That was until one day you accidentally brushed his knee cap and he jumps. You two just stare at each other, bewildered and amused.

Oh my god, you made him regret ever even meeting you. At any given moment you’ll tickle his knees like a silly little critter, you abuse this fact. Sometimes when you go to reach he’ll jerk his knees away from you

It becomes an all out war at home, you two wrestling on the floor trying to get the other, it’s a lot of screaming and giggling. Your neighbors think you two are, interesting to say the least

When you two play competitive videogames like smash bros or racing games, he’s low key a sore looser. So he’ll tickle your neck to distract you

Pim pimling

He loves being cutely playful with you. Pim will tickle your sides just to hear you giggle, he thinks it’s precious.

Does it very lightly, like brushing his fingers on your side and watching you try and wiggle away from him, stifling laughter makes him feel giddy.

Pim does it frequently at home, maybe when you two are with friends and he’s bored. Sitting on the couch watching a movie and he’ll blow on your neck and giggle as you jump around

When you two are cuddling though he accidentally brushes his hands against your side which makes you just. He feels so bad but it’s also really funny

Pims very ticklish, like, embarrassingly so. He’ll flail his arms every time you even graze his sides and if you have him in your grasp, Pim will wheeze laugh and start crying

He’s screaming uncle, uncle but he’s tickled you one too many times. Revenge must be had. Pim has tiny arms so he can’t exactly get you back as easily, it’s fun for him to try!

Very wiggly, when you get him. He’ll fall to the floor like a fish, it’s really cute. You feel a little evil looking at his poor face as you mercilessly tickle him, but it’s quickly forgotten when you remember all the times he’s gotten you

Pim will also blow raspberries on your tummy, not rlly tickling it’s just rlly cute. You giggle and poke his head, it’s really cute couple moments that he enjoys with you.

👑🍑 Why Peach Is One Of My Favorite Comfort Characters 🍑👑

It’s Princess Peach Month, babes, and as a fangirl, I’m obligated to make a post like this become a reality. Feels quite sinful that I wasn’t able to jack for the month last year (aside from reposting some cringy fanart), but this year I’ll try and bring my A game this year. Was also inspired to make this post after reading some articles that are in defense of characters that are in a similar vein to Peach, like Daphne Blake and the Disney Princesses (specifically the classic ones like Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora).

Last year, I made a post where I partially went in defense of the pink diplomat, but for this post, I’m gonna go in full defense of her, and also why she’s personally special to me.

Now, where do I even begin? Imo, Peach has been one of the most unnecessarily lambasted, maligned, overhated but also misunderstood characters in not just Super Mario, video games, but also fiction as a whole.

One of the most talked about criticisms I hear about her is, “ShE’s UsElEsS, aNd Is aLwAyS bEiNg KiDnApPeD LiKe EvErY dAy”. While it kinda has become somewhat of a running gag in the series, I am willing to admit that she’s not always able to defend herself. However, I’m still here to say that’s she’s far from useless or weak, girlie clearly can defend herself, like- are y’all really forgetting the many times where she can be strong like in SM3DW, Mario + Rabbids, SMB2, SMBW, SMRPG, and so many other titles? Hell, are we really forgetting about the movie that literally just came out a year ago where she’s being a strong, dutiful leader, AND the fact that she has two solo starring games where it was her turn to save the day all by herself? Let’s also not forget the Smash Bros. series where she’s one of the highest ranked characters in three of the entries. And also, it’s not, “every day”, some of y’all need to stop exaggerating that 💀

Even when in captivity, she still manages to help out Mario by sneaking 1-Ups like in Mario Galaxy. It irks me with how stuff like this is often ignored in order to pigeonhole her into the damsel role, when she is strong in her own right. She doesn’t always get captured, and more people could understand this if they stopped degrading her for Bowser and Daisy’s actions.

Speaking of Daisy, another criticism that I hear about her is, “ShE’s A bAd FrIeNd To DaIsY, aNd BeTrAyEd HeR fOr RoSaLiNa.” Jesus H. Christ, this one genuinely makes my blood boil. Daisy is another one of my favorite characters in the series that is special to me, and it makes me upset with how her and Peach’s friendship is often portrayed in the fandom. Like, show me proof. Show me factual evidence that Peach “betrayed” Daisy that isn’t from fanart, fanfiction, animations, or anything else fanmade. This is giving the same vibes as, “Mario is a bad/abusive brother to Luigi” rumor that MatPat popularized and I hate it sm. And while we’re at it, can we not throw Rosalina under the bus, she herself gets an unnecessary and unneeded amount of hate already :/

Peach and Daisy are canonically BFFLs, and I hate hate hate how they’re usually portrayed as enemies. I remember seeing so much fanart back in the day where Daisy is bullying, fighting, or being straight up toxic towards Peach. I do see Daisy playfully teasing Peach and being competitive, but being toxic? No, honey, no 😣

And now moving on to my next criticism which is, “ShE’s ToO sTuPiD aNd GiRlY”. Aah yes, the whole, “being hyper feminine/girly is bad” trope, oh how I have not missed you. First of all, Peach is not stupid. Naive? Yes. But she’s no dumb blonde, or airhead, or ditz, or bimbo, or whatever the hell type of pejorative, misogynistic, blonde stereotype-based word you wanna throw at her. She’s clever, and has been able to use her smarts to outwit her captors. And newsflash, there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving traditionally feminine things like baking cakes, or fashion, or liking the color pink. It kinda rubs me the wrong way with how people remove the feminine aspects about Peach and the other things that make her special in order to have her be taken seriously. They just end up making her a Daisy clone. You can be both girly and badass too, y’know!

And here’s my final criticism that I hear about her, “ShE’s A sPoIlEd, StUcK uP bRaT wHo DoEsN’t CaRe AbOuT mArIo”. Look, just because she’s filthy stinking rich, doesn’t mean she’s a spoiled brat. This is yet another thing I see her being portrayed in fanmade stuff; spoiled, bratty, entitled, and bitchy, and I’m just here like, “Did y’all mistake her for Wendy, or?”. Peach is one of the sweetest, empathetic, selfless, and most wholesome characters in the series, and would never act like that.

But nope, pink = girliness, and girliness = bad, so that means we gotta make her a complete Karen/s

I get alternative character interpretations exists, but I feel like people use that as an excuse to deliberately demonize and flanderize characters for the sake of it -_-

As for Mario, have you guys even played any of the games? She clearly does love and care about him and is grateful for what he’s done for her. She thanks him for helping her, giving him kisses, baking cakes for him, and inviting him to fun places. If she “didn’t care about him”, then she wouldn’t be doing all the above mentioned stuff for him. And something I also forgot to mention in my Y2K Peach post is how people assume she has Stockholm Syndrome- which she doesn’t. She clearly doesn’t like Bowser, wants nothing to do with him, and shows 0 romantic interest in him, so how could she have Stockholm Syndrome lmao

Phew, glad I got all of that off my chest. Stuff like this has been bugging me for so long, so I’m glad to finally let it all out. Now I’m gonna explain why I find Peach to be one of my favorite comfort characters.

Ever since I was a small tot, I’ve always admired Peach. She was pretty, pink, super girly and ruled a whole damn kingdom. While she isn’t always strong, there are still times where she’s able to put her foot down and stand up for her friends and herself. She puts her subjects' needs before her own needs, and is basically a gentle soul. She’s also a jack of all trades, she’s not just a baker, but also a golfer, tennis player, kart racer, equestrian, and so much more. She’s also able to be patient with others, and sees the good in even the wickedest of people.

I especially loved playing as her in the Smash Bros. games, I’ve been a Peach main ever since the Brawl days. Her inclusion in the series just shows me that, even if you love doing unapologetically feminine things like wearing dresses, painting your nails, shopping, or cooking, you still matter. You’re still capable and strong in your own way, and you can still save the day. Embrace who you are. To this day, I still find this to be an empowering message that not just young girls, but anyone can resonate with. This is why Peach has always been a special character to me <3

Apologies if I kinda went into, “I’m 14 and this is deep” territory, but that’s just what I truly feel about Peach. She’s no damsel in distress, or a pretty face, or a walking talking prize, she’s much much more than that. She’s one of the best characters, and deserves better not just in the games, but in the fandom as well.

I’m probably gonna get crucified and clowned on for this, but Idc, I spoke my truth 😤

Someone was out to kill them, so they got what they had coming to them once they're caught. This, however, is the first time we're seeing it on screen - and from Caleb no less. Very interesting!

Imagine ordering an Aperture Sentry Turret and this came in the box shrieking bloody murder. Two-in-one deal or whatever. I assume it's not canon but the cut line about him bumping into the "neurotoxin release button" on accident is also extremely funny. Imagine if at one point GLaDOS didn't actually try to kill anyone but because Wheatley accidentally bumped into the button they hit her killswitch anyways so she changed her mind the next activation. We made the world's first unemployable robot. ZERO practical applications.

Hello! I have put together the Riddle School- Good Ending AU a bit more and decided to share some things since you were interested! I wanted to have a bit of a different take on the aliens and for fun decided to make them the 'good guys'. I kept the military idea the fandom adopted since I loved it and went a step further to make them the best of their respective branches therefore prime targets in the war. Diz was a fighter pilot, Viz was a captain and Quiz a lead cartographer. They were chased out of their solar system by the enemy their planet was at war with (Viz lost an eye, Diz his lower arms) and now have to help build this 'Cryobeam' that could land a good enough hit on the enemy to bring an advantage to their losing side. All whilst they are also constantly pressed by time and their superiors.

The three took refugee on Earth where Phil happened to spot them stealing from a local store. They took him and later on his friends when they tried to find him, since the Vizion crew knew it would be dangerous if their enemy was around and found out these kids knew of them. Diz is not a traitor in this story, Quiz does not run off to play principal and Viz does not die. Some game events play out differently.

Kids living on a spaceship, shenanigans ensue later on. From games of hide and seek with Phil getting stuck in a vent, truth or dare near a lava pit, Viz saves Smiley from a bunch of boys bulling her and trying to steal her wig, Zack challenging Viz and Diz to a match of football, Smiley and the boys cooking dinner with Diz, Zack and Phred having Quiz play a horror game, Smiley and Quiz playing wingmen for Diz and Viz (it started as a crackship, I don't know how it got here), etc. Also another change to the canon. I didn't make Smiley magically grow hair instead that is a wig and she has alopecia areata.

Basically, three military dudes who have forgotten what it was like to live life adopt four rambunctious children that shake up their entire operation. If you want to know anything more about it please let me know! I'd love to share!

I must know who wins the football game. Don’t know why that line in particular is standing out to me so much (I don’t even like football) but I must know. Truth or dare near the lava pit also intrigues me; what dares involve the lava pit? (Don’t know about you, but I had at least one friend who would probably dare you to throw your shoes or some shit in there XD)

The whole concept of the AU is brilliant! It’s kinda giving gravity falls with the whole ‘inexplicable and possibly violent happenings occurring while school children hang out with cryptids’ (I fell back into that bottomless pit recently so maybe that’s just me conflating things, but it’s a good vibe! Anything that makes me think of gravity falls is a win.) 

I love love love your ideas for a softer portrayal with the aliens; it’s kinda hilarious to me that they might have just yoinked the children with barely half a plan and now they’re stuck babysitting for the good of the mission. The villain decay from Ambiguous Threat to Bonus Uncles is immaculate. Headquarters is phoning in to find out how weapon testing is going only to find all three of their best soldiers losing at smash bros, rip 

(Oh god, don't get me started on Viz and Diz as a crack ship. Every. single. time I write them they get more divorced and I... do not know how they're doing it. I am staring at them in incomprehension. 'You’re not a couple? You’ve literally never been a couple?? I wrote your species to have no concept of marriage, how the fuck did you get divorced???' They have yet to answer me; they’re too busy missing each other while stood in the same room.)

Questions! What do the aliens do about the kids parents in this? (Super curious about this one cause it was something I never considered until I started writing the Kidnapping Phil scene and fell into the plot hole face first.) Are the enemy forces on Earth as well? Do the kids get tangled up in the Everything, or do they successfully avoid that fate in exchange for low-risk shenanigans? I remember you had a few OCs you talked about last time; are they still part of it? Do you think you’ll write it out as prose or did you have something else in mind? What are the aliens like in your story and (because I found this one fun to answer!) who’s your favourite?

I know I already posted them but I still wanna put em here + front facing D-Structs(unrelated note: don't usually do front faces much, I have tried it probably two times and it either ends up looking weird or just not right but I do like how it turned out this time! hmm maybe I should do more characters front facing).

anyways, I've always wanted to infodump share some bits of lore, facts, info, and other stuff of my human AU version of the Dinotrux and I kind of started with the D-bros + Skrap-itt, why? ngl they're one of the most interesting characters to me. soooooo here you go :)

D-Stroy:

-when D-Structs was born, D-Stroy looked at his parents while pointing at his new baby sibling and asked "mom, dad.... why does he look so ugly?"

-a very mischievous kid back then. he was the ultimate pranker. he pranks a lotta people that he almost lost count of them but his favourite pranking victim is you guessed it! ya boi D-Structs! oh poor poor young, bratty, selfish D-Structs... always having silly stuff drawn on his face when he was asleep and almost getting scared to death everytime his brother just jumpscares him...I'd list more but this is getting way too long lol.

-hair is l o n g and messy af. you can probably store/hide items in there idk.

-has a high tolerance for spicy food and also enjoys eating it.

-even as a kid, he always gets into fights and still does which results to him always receiving new scars/injuries. almost never minds it because with all honesty he doesn't really give a shit what he looks like. even though he is incredibly strong, he knows his limits and also knows he isn't invincible or indestructible so he tries his best not to overestimate his strength and avoid battles if he knows he can't win it.

D-Structs:

-was already a selfish guy when he was a bratty little kid and a bit of a snitch too. when he was five and D-Stroy would do something to him, even something that's completely harmless like slightly nudging his arm this left D-Structs no choice but to use a move that every older sibling fears "MAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-"

-heavily dislikes the taste of sweets. can't really handle it, the taste of sugar and the feeling of it melting into his tongue is just....sickening, maybe even irritating...in fact, it's unbearable....

-similarly to D-Stroy, he often gotten to a lotta fight even as a kid and still does which ends up getting himself new scars/injuries. most of these fights are pretty much his fault as most of the time he's the one that's starting/asking for it.

-"I'd rather live my life all alone until I die" that's what he thought to himself until Skrap-itt came to his life. story between them was kinda similar to the canon. it was so hard for him to tolerate this talkative and dumb lil pipsqueak but as time goes on he kind of started to get used to his company that it feels oddly weird whenever he's alone... sometimes...after all, Skrap-itt was the only one that gives a fuck about him...

Skrap-itt:

-a cat person. he understands them, he knows they're not just annoying animals always whining for food 24/7, they are loving and caring too! they're not just, y'know, not that playful...at least..most of the time...he would adopt a cat but sadly D-Structs not really a big fan of pets in his home.

-was the weird lonely kid who often gets picked on a lot and many avoided him because, again, a weirdo and thus lived a pretty lonely life. Smash-itt, Break-itt and Lloyd are often the ones picking on him which would explain why Skrap-itt is so bitter to them when he meets them again, worse part is that D-Structs, though completely unaware of their history, """hired""" them.
