Well Chosen
(A5, gouache paint, cartridge paper)
With special thanks to tumblr for reducing my image quality to Potatoâlooks way less pixelated in my photo library. One day I will use technology successfullyâŚ
Whipped this together in a night to get used to painting again and, while Iâm a bit rusty and itâs not my biggest or most complicated work, Iâm still really pleased with it! Itâs also got the honour of being my first fanart since I was 14, so thatâs giving it bonus points in my book (Riddle School stays winning in my brain ig.) Although, technically, it counts as an illustration for Riddle V.I.Z.ion more than fanart, seeing as Iâve fucked off somewhere far into the distance as far as actual RS canon is concerned XD
Anyway, two of my boys <3 this was fun, will be doing it again

DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he canât stop a threat that originates on earth (thatâs something heâll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers werenât the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.Â
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entranceâŚheâs stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his armyâs advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. Thatâs when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon canât get through yet Constantine also explains that itâs not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.Â
And thatâs when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isnât a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get throughâŚ.is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.Â
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. Itâs like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with PokĂŠmon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and letâs play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice leagueâs life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. Heâs really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).Â
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like âawww how cuteâ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they arenât spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#DPxDC#Kizzer55555 ideas#Danny makes a card game to save the world.#Technically he worded the ritual so that they had to âbeatâ him as those are the most powerful barriers and most reliable.#keys can just get lost or stolen (like the one to Pariahâs Coffin)#A riddle would be useless once someone figured out the answer. Like how no one takes the sphynx seriously anymore.#(Sorry Tuck. But itâs true).#And there is NO WAY Danny is just leaving a hole open for anyone to pass through. No thank you!#SoâŚbeating him. But itâs not like Danny wanted to fight soâŚhe edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too.#Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine.#Itâs based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy.#It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too.#They had SO much fun making this.#Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field.#Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak.#Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parkerâs think the three are talking gibberish.)#I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost.#Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM!#Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board.#By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges#And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS.#Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess.#But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for â¨effect⨠Against invaders.#Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions.#While Danny COULD stop crime on earth heâs not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts.#The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of#Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything.#Danny is not aware they think this.#Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this.#Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

I made a new Irken OC. His name is Diz and he's a security guard.
Overall, he's a pretty chill guy, although he takes his job pretty seriously. He's never left Irk, but his friend, Vee (whom I have yet to properly draw), works on the Massive and she tells him about her travels whenever she and the Tallests return home.
Yes, that is a gun holster on his belt. He has a stun-gun thing that immobilizes Irkens by overwhelming their PAKs with an electric pulse. It makes his job a lot easier. Still figuring out what it looks like; having trouble finding in-universe stuff to use for reference.
Having never been off-planet, Diz has also never actually seen a non-Irken before. I'm sure that won't be a problem in the future.

"I hate to press you Quiz but this is kind of an important question:Â what are we gonna do?" Opening communication comms... "We're going to talk to him."
Instead of immediately blowing himself up, Quiz makes the questionable choice to try and talk Diz out of doomsday. Things go very differently from there. In the wake of the project's destruction, Phil is left to wrestle with the aftermath of his greatest adventure, and the aliens struggle to live with each other.
â A look at the 'why' of project V.I.Z.ion, the psyches of three violent extraterrestrials, and revisiting childhood trauma that was really really fun at the time. Who are we without the things we live for? (aka 'Seriousifying Riddle School: The Fic'.)

TWST characters getting jealous when you spend more time with Stitch than with them (Part 1)
⧠Inspired by the new Stitch's Tropical Turbulence event.
⧠You can read Part 2 here.
Ace Trappola
Initially, Ace enjoyed having Stitch join the two of you, having fun as you all laughed, played, and hung out together with the other students at the island. But as he watched you grow increasingly attached to Stitch, and the way the blue furball kept clinging to you in return, a sense of irritation began to gnaw at him.
Ace tried to brush it off at first. As one of your first and closest friends at school, heâd been around you long enough to know your kindness extended to everyone and that you had a soft spot for small creatures like Stitch. But the feeling persisted, growing stronger with each passing day. He'd always been confident in his ability to captivate you, to make you smile and laugh with his silly jokes and antics. But hearing your constant giggles caused by Stitch, seeing you completely captivated by the alien's boundless energy and goofy charm, caused jealousy to stir within him.
Despite his efforts to act nonchalant, he couldn't help but secretly glare, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched you and Stitch engrossed in your own little world. He would constantly find himself making excuses to be near you two, subtly inserting himself into your interactions. Although he wouldnât admit it to anyone, he was jealous of the attention Stitch was receiving from you, jealous of the laughter that now echoed around youâa laughter that didn't include him. He was jealous of the little alien beside you who could effortlessly steal your attention and openly show his affection to you without getting embarrassed or teased by others.
Floyd Leech
Floyd didn't like it one bit. Sure, playing with the alien Stitch was fun and all, but seeing you constantly fawning over the little guy, ignoring Floyd in the process, sent a flicker of discontent across his face. Floyd got easily jealous when others stole your attention away from him. You were his precious shrimpy, after all.
Like Ace, he would try to wedge himself between you and Stitch to draw your attention. One moment heâd join in the fun with forced enthusiasm, only to get bored and withdraw the next due to his unpredictable mood swings. When his attempts to capture your attention failed and you remained engrossed with Stitch, Floydâs mood darkened further.
He felt a suffocating sense of possessiveness, yearning for your undivided attention and affection. He wanted you all to himself. As he watched Stitch snuggle into your side, resting his head on your lap while you gently stroked his fur with a tender smile, his scowl deepened, his heart burning with jealousy. Unable to bear it any longer, he stormed over, yanking Stitch away. Then, grabbing you by the waist, he settled you onto his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around you in a possessive embrace. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, whining that you should play with him too. He snuggled even closer, ignoring the growling blue alien glaring daggers at him.
Riddle Rosehearts
From a distance, Riddle watched as Stitch playfully perched on your shoulder, nuzzling your cheek with his big, round nose, drawing a soft giggle from you. This playful interaction sparked an unfamiliar pang of jealousy within him. Though he tried to maintain a composed exterior, his eyes betrayed him, narrowing, and a faint frown would crease his face as he watched the cheerful duo.
Every now and then, Riddle would find an excuse to interject, gently scolding you for spoiling the little creature too much. His tone was stern, but deep down, he knew his disapproval was driven more by envy than genuine concern. He couldn't bear to watch you so happy together, knowing that he longed for that same closeness, though confessing such feelings wasn't easy for him.
Under the pretense of keeping an eye on them, Riddle would stay close, claiming it was to prevent any potential trouble Stitch might cause. His true motive, however, was far more personal. He wanted to be near you too, to share in the moments of joy you experienced with Stitch. He would stand nearby, arms crossed, his gaze unwavering as he watched you and Stitch bond. As he watched, he would often tap his finger on his arm or his foot on the sandy beach in silent frustration, his jealousy growing. Yet, he kept his emotions tightly in check, not wanting to make his feelings obvious to you or anyone else.

In Unrequited Love - Part 3
AN: Hey, can I be sappy with y'all a moment? When I first started this story, I was admittedly pretty proud of what I came up with but I never anticipated the amount of love it would receive, so thank you everyone! <3 I also thank you for your patience, you have all been great đ With that said, I now bestow the conclusion to this renegade of emotion
Part 1 - Part 2
Donatello x Reader
Pathetic. Thatâs the one word that keeps ringing in your ears like echoes of a bug-infested cavern, the erratic scuttling serving loudly as your reminder. In no respect towards yourself, you are. All you have done since Casey escorted you back home is wallow in bed, tossing around the agonising reprieve that you are a love-strung puppy awaiting its next pat on the head. Thatâs why youâve kept texting Donnie to a minimum; cut yourself off from the source and deal with the withdrawal symptoms. Doing this has you riddled with guilt but what else are you meant to do? Everybody loves somebody, right? But you donât want to love anybody if it isnât him. Perceivably dramatic, yes. After all, he is still a valued friend. Currently, the way you see it, itâs best to let yourself get over this puppy-dog sickness before that friendship can continue. Again, dramatic but the only logical option with April so tantalisingly strung in the picture.
Living a life of solitude hasnât been all bad. For starters, youâve been able to rest your ankle. Walking on it is still a fair challenge but itâs much more manageable than it was before. These past couple of days have also given you amble opportunity to reflect, as it were. Itâs kind of easy to understand why one would fall for the resident bad boy in High School but a mutant turtle living in the sewers? No disrespect to Donnie, of course, but youâre just surprised. You donât even think about all of that when you think of him. All that comes to mind is the heavenly warmth of his eyes; the soft care in them when you would help him out in the lab or when heâd be tending to one of your bumps. Euphoriaâs temptress beckons you in once more in its rose-tinted glaze as you fantasise about some superfluous daydream involving him. The sweet melodies enrapture you in this cosy bubble as you curl up in bed but the sharp force of reality is swift and knocks you down before a peak is seized.
Perhaps trying to get over this infatuation isnât quite going as planned. Groaning out into the open air, you throw a pillow into your face and continue your muffled whining. This is so unfair. Why canât he be the one that you donât want? You just canât seem to escape the fact that you need him. In your state of disarray, youâve even tried to figure out how to become the one that he thinks about. To try and curate him into being the other half of what youâve never had. Closeness. A deeply set solitude that seemed so alien to you before you started hanging out with him. Time is slipping at this point. You swear you must be going crazy because of it. There have been a couple of nights when you swear something - someone - has been lingering outside your bedroom. Yet, when you get up to check, thereâs nothing there. Part of you hopes that itâs your long-awaited love checking up on you whilst the other screams that you have indeed lost your mind.Â
As it would turn out, youâre not as deluded as you might think yourself to be. Indeed, Donatello has tried many a time to meet you in person but to no avail. Many times he has attempted to knock on your window only for his courage to crawl back into the ground and, alas, he does the same by retreating to his home in the sewers. What is he meant to do? You hardly message him if at all these days. Considering the state of injuries youâd endure, heâs worried about you. He has every right to be worried about you. What more could happen to you whilst unsupervised? He doesnât want to be overly protective but he has valid grounds for such concern. His only assurance that youâre alright is when he sees your shadow through your curtain at night but that isnât enough. Of course, it isnât enough. He wants to care for you and cater to your every need and undying whim.Â
If only words could do him justice in articulating how he feels about you but he has never been so eloquently spoken unless itâs with regards to the sciences. Heâs yours but youâre not his. He just wants you to be with him. If he had to - if he could - he would take the light out of the stars to help you see that. Anything for you to understand just how much he loves you. These spats of poetry are easy enough to site to himself but he knows he would tumble the moment he does as much as even consider reciting such lullabies to you.
Donnie leans over his desk, head in his hands, and sighs heavily for the umpteenth time this day, ever thankful that the streets have been quieter than usual. Itâs not as though he can focus on much of anything. All surfaces of his brain have been overtaken and overruled by the thought of you. At this point, he doesnât even care if nothing happens between the two of you. More so than anything, he just wants you back in the lair. It doesnât matter if youâll never be more than friends, he misses his lab partner. It isnât as though heâs been particularly subtle in his grovelling, either. Figuring out that he had a crush on April was a no-brainer but this has been much more obvious and much more detrimental. His brothers canât seem to get him out of this funk as much as they may try. Day in and day out, itâs the same thing: Donatello sulking in his lab, staring off into space and pretending to look busy on one of his gadgets. Desperate times call for desperate measures and if he needs a smack up the head, thereâs only one person for the job.Â
âCome on, Donnie, when are you gonna stop beating yourself up over this?â Raph asks, palming at the desk and resting his body weight against it.Â
âOh, yes, because I stand so much of a chance with (Y/n),â his brother remarks sarcastically.Â
The shorter of the two shifts his attention elsewhere, lips turning to the side shamefully. He never wants to feel bad about poking fun or laying out the hard truths of their shared situation being mutants. The bitter contempt within his brother's voice is fair given the fits of teasing in concordance with the cold facts that mutants and humans canât be. In hindsight, he and his brothers could have treated the situation with more care. Still, as brash as he can be, Raph hates to see a family member suffering as such. Whilst his methods arenât all conventional, sometimes itâs necessary.Â
Raphael huffs and rolls his eyes. âYou know what you need?â
âFor you to go away?â
âNo,â he responds quickly, stifling the annoyance beneath bated breath, âwhat you need is to get your head out of this storm cloud. Sitting around and moping all day isnât gonna change anything. So what if you donât stand a chance? You wonât know until you try.â
âThank you, Raphael, your input is valuable as always,â Donnie scorns rudely once more and exhales heavily. âI think I just want to be left alone.â
As heartbreaking as it is, such a wish can be respected, especially by the turtle that frequents isolated periods when heâs in a bad mood. Raph takes his leave and reconvenes with Casey for their night of watch duty. They sit atop an apartment roof, scathing the barren area for trouble that never seems to come. It doesnât take more than a few minutes before the main matter at hand becomes the point of conversation.Â
âHe just needs to take action,â Raph claims as he smacks a fist down into his palm. âI know we havenât exactly been supportive but itâs eating him up. The sooner he gets it over with, the sooner he can be done with the whole thing.â
Caseyâs cheeks puff up into his hands and he frowns, only for a wry grin to quickly take his lips. âOr, he just needs the expert to give him a helping hand.â
âOh? Youâve changed your tune.â
âHey, as long as he isnât trying it on with Red, Iâm all good.â Jones shrugs and pulls out his phone. âNow, watch a pro at work.â
Just a few blocks down from our duo lies your rotting form within the confines of your bedroom. It feels as though the space has somehow gotten smaller these last few days. Youâve chosen to spread eagle on the floor seeing as the bed has suddenly become uncomfortable, too. Rolling onto your side, you grab your phone and flick through your music, every song you pass turning out to either be a love song or something somber. Thanks, fate. Turning out to be a great ally here. You scroll a little longer in search of a distraction when a notification takes your attention.Â
Hockey Junkie: Hows the ankle treatin ya, everyone in the lair misses u
It hasnât been uncommon for any of the gang to message you but Casey being somewhat sentimental isnât inherently natural. You suppose it was only a matter of time. You have been quiet for a short while now. If this has been good for anything, at least you know your friends care about you. Itâs only fair that you halt your pitiful oath of silence.Â
Nerdâs Assistant: I can walk on it fine but I might give it another day or two just to be sure Hockey Junkie: Playing safe, gotcha Hockey Junkie: Forget that crap tho, get your butt down here, the guys think ur dead
You huff a laugh to yourself and rest your weary head against your folded arm as you roll onto your stomach. In truth, you could have returned to the lair a couple of days ago but that sinking sensation sullies your stomach any time you contemplate the idea. All the more reason to stick to this seclusion. Without knowing what to say, you put your phone down and sigh into the carpet. The sweet melodies from your speaker are almost all-encompassing until your phone dings again. Then, again and for a third time before you decide to take a look.
Hockey Junkie: Look lemme be real with you Hockey Junkie: Gap tooth aint doing so hot right now Hockey Junkie: Can you at least give him a visit? Do it for your favorite classmate yeh?
The last cocky comment goes amiss with the main picture here. Whatâs wrong with Donnie and what has it got to do with you? All you can think on the matter is that he misses having someone to vent about April to. No, that isnât fair to him. Thereâs more to him than just being madly infatuated with her. Heâs a beautiful person of vision, albeit a little on the awkward side but that just makes him all the more adorable. Seeing as you havenât replied to a lot of his texts, he must be bloated with a bad conscience. That must be what Casey is getting at. It takes some effort but you convince yourself that Donatello indeed misses his friendly assistant and that itâs high time you make a move. There goes your vow of distancing yourself. Goodbye, vegetative bed rotting.
Walking to the lair after so much time would be alien was the route not learned via muscle memory. Thereâs still an unsettling energy that becomes all the more poignant with every step you take but youâre putting that down to your nerves. You should probably text first; let him know that youâre coming but youâve already made it to the large doors of his laboratory. As your fingers trace over the smooth metal, you think about the day that started this all - the day that would mark a start to something so unexpected that it almost doesnât seem real. This is real. The alarming beat in your chest is all too loud for it to be a dream. Itâs now or never. Taking a deep breath, you knock and pull one of the doors to the side, revealing the beaten-down turtle surrounded by unfinished projects and forgotten inventions alike. Â
He slumps further and throws a hand up loosely. âI know youâre trying to help but I already said-â He stops speaking when he turns around and sees itâs you.Â
You wave awkwardly with a just as clumsy smile to greet him. He springs up to his feet and bounds towards you, going in for a hug, only to stop himself just a few steps in front of you. Thatâs too much too soon. Your arrival is just so unexpected but by no means is it unwelcome. Many questions. Thereâs a lot he wants to ask and much more that he wants to say, like how much heâs missed you, how concerned heâs been, or please, never do that again.Â
Instead, he says the only thing he can rationally think to, âHow is the, uh, ankle doing?â
âMuch better. Some positions still hurt butâŚâ You do a little spin on the spot to demonstrate how much youâve healed, laughing shortly. â... I can walk now at least.â
Donnie laughs as well, glad for that much. âSo, no more injuries I need to worry about?â he asks playfully with raised brows.Â
âNah~â you resound melodically, winking with a waggishness. âSorry to disappoint, Doc.â
Not a disappointment at all. Knowing youâre in good health, at least physically, is a huge relief. Between the shared chortling and the all-together prospect of dismantling the initial awkwardness, itâs great to have you back. Itâs good to be back and youâre inwardly scolding yourself for depriving yourself of pleasant company. An aching heart can make you do stupid things and youâre about to realise just how stupid going quiet was. Donatello rubs the back of his head and seems to look everywhere but at you.Â
âSo how come you never messaged?â he asks slowly. âI got worried.â
Thereâs the guilt you had expected but you didnât realise it would be so gut-wrenching. Heâs trying to mitigate how hurt he was but itâs clear as day on his face. You contemplate reaching for him as extra consolation, finger flickering towards his. Instead, hold onto your forearm and tilt your head shamefully.
âIâm sorry. I never wanted to worry anyone, especially not you. Just needed some time to myself, I think. You know, reflect on stuff.â Ah, he thinks to himself, Casey stuff no doubt. You blow off a cackle and shrug. âWithout sounding like a complete pessimist, I think itâll be easier to accept that no one could ever fall for me.â
You play it off as a joke - for the most part, thatâs how you meant it - but he isnât having that for a second. His hands jolt for your shoulders unexpectedly. Nothing follows and your wide eyes blink furiously with the abrupt action.Â
âDonnie?â
Still, nothing. Gaze turned downwards, he just holds your shoulders, as though heâs thinking long and hard about something. He is. Heâs thinking so very hard about this. Even the risk of making a fool of himself canât scare him out of doing it now. Thereâs only so long he can carefully tread on this ice before it eventually breaks beneath him and swallows him whole. One might argue thatâs not as bad as flat-out rejection but he doesnât care anymore. Itâs time to put those words to the test.Â
He breathes deeply to collect himself, to avoid falling into a blubbering mess, and closes his eyes before getting straight to the point. âI know I could never stand any chance with you, as much as I like to pretend that I do, but Iâd like it to be known at least. Even if you could never feel the same way, just know that you are loved - that youâre worth loving - and that⌠Iâm in love with you. Donât ever say stuff like that because itâs not true.â
All you can do is stare. Had he kept his eyes open, he would have witnessed your face shift into every conceivable expression whilst you tried to unpack what had just been said. You donât know whether to laugh or cry. Both could be an option were you not so stunned to the point of near incapacitation. The lack of response is jarring yet still, he canât bring himself to look at you.Â
âOh my God,â you suddenly wheeze under a whisper, afraid that if you speak any louder, youâll surely burst into tears. âAre you for real?â Confused, he goes to answer but you continue. âDonnie,â you breathe more weakly, âI have been hopelessly in love with you for weeks and now Iâm hearing that you feel the same? In all this time where Iâve been in my own head. I just thought that- with April-â You cut yourself off and step back, jerking your shoulders away from his clutch. âNo. Thereâs no way. This isnât funny, Donnie. Just stop.â
Thereâs a brief period of chronostasis - a beautiful phenomenon in which time stills and he has the space to reflect on what has just sputtered from your mouth. He almost canât believe it and, it seems, you canât believe his own words either. He wants to jump with joy, spring with glee, and throw it in his brothersâ faces for ever doubting such circumstances. The overconfidence can wait. At this moment, itâs just the two of you with this air of reconciliation, though dampened by doubt. Your doubt.Â
He holds a hand out to you only for it to clasp into a soft fist. It would be easy to act on the defensive but that wouldnât amount to anything. If itâs evidence you seek, so he shall provide. He walks over to his desk and retrieves a small box - the same box that you had snooped on the other week, the one containing the quaint, little bracelet that is surely meant for April. Thatâs what you assumed, which is why your heart clenches tightly. He carefully takes it out of its packaging and fawns over it in a moment of vulnerability. Youâre awaiting words of inclination towards the redhead but he remains silent. A green thumb skips over the turtle charm and Donatello outstretches his other hand to you. Wearily, you oblige and bestow yours to him. He cups the back of your hand and turns it over so that he may place the delicate-looking jewellery in your palm, making sure the charm is turned up on its backside. You frown at his peculiar behaviour, only to realise that something is inscribed on the turtleâs underbelly: your initials.Â
When it all comes to light, your head turns up to meet him again. Heâs glanced away shyly but thereâs an awkward smile on his lips. One would think that this shared admittance is something to be celebrated with a fantastical display but it feels much too surreal. You have this horrible vision of waking up in your room, finding this to be another one of your crazed dreams. When he finally meets your stare, those fears vanish. Wild imagination or not, you could never replicate that warm glow of those maroon eyes. Even thoughts of being embarrassed about the tears in your own couldnât ruin this moment. You fawn over the little bracelet again and shimmy it onto your wrist. The exchange is silent but thereâs an ambient comfort: an unfamiliar familiarness that paves way between the two of you and closes the gap youâve both been aching to be rid of. Neither of you is well-equipped with your words, so this alteration best suits the moment. Everything that has come to be may have been born from unrequited feelings for your friends but the birth place doesnât matter. Value is held in each otherâs happiness and simply loving one another unconditionally.
You lean up, lifting yourself on your good foot mostly, and kiss him on the cheek. His inelegant grin drops and youâre sure the tassels of his mask would have flickered up if they obtained sentient life. A primrose hue blossoms his face - one that you become well-acquainted with when he cups your cheeks and presses his lips to your forehead. With you both soaring ever higher, he pulls you into a long-awaited embrace, holding you close as your bodies transcend orbit and go off into the stars.Â
Man, he sure does love being a turtle.

Do you know if Riddle, or Tray, ever stands up to his mother? I think i saw it in a Pinterest post once of teen Riddle being slapped by his mom and Tray taking him away.
His background is sadder than Shoto Todoroki from BNHA
We donât really get to hear about how things are going back home with Mrs. Rosehearts outside of one brief instance. In 4-3, Riddle is leaving for winter break and mentions he intends on speaking with his mother, though he isnât optimistic about her listening.
Trey states in the same part of the story that he isnât allowed at Riddleâs house (because Mrs. Rosehearts has banned him). However, Riddle is still invited to visit him and Chenya at the Clover family bakery (though itâs very unlikely Riddle would be able to, since he hasnât canonically seen Chenya again since the unbirthday party of book 1).
We never get a follow-up on how the conversation between Riddle and his mother went. Itâs never touched upon again, and his mom isnât really brought up beyond this case. (I did happen to write a short piece about Trey, Riddle, and Mrs. Rosehearts interacting though, if you were interested in seeing my own interpretation of this idea.)
Riddle spends most of his time at NRC since itâs a boarding school, meaning there are few opportunities for him to directly interact with his mother. Even if Mrs. Rosehearts were readily accessible to him, I highly doubt we would get to witness Riddle or Trey doing much to talk back to her. As we see in book 4, Riddle is still quite meek and uncertain when it comes to speaking with his mom. Trey, meanwhile, is generally very non-confrontational and may still be dealing with his own complicated feelings about interfering with what are family matters. (Recall that the last time he encouraged Riddle to be adventurous, it resulted in his friend being severely punished and Trey may harbor guilt over this occurrence.) I feel that neither of them would realistically develop the courage to talk back to Mrs. Rosehearts when only like half a year has passed since Riddleâs OB incident as opposed to like seventeen years of Riddle living under her rules.
***CONTENT WARNING: I will be discussing abuse at length under the cut, so please be advised to avoid reading further if the topic makes you uncomfortable.***
Regarding the comic you saw on Pinterest, it is fan art. That is in no way canonical; Mrs. Rosehearts may be very stern and have a temper, but she has never slapped or otherwise put a hand on Riddle. The closest thing we get to a slap is this panel from the manga adaptation, which isnât even a slap. You can tell from the movement lines and the FWP sfx that Mrs. Rosehearts is just quickly pulling her arm away since Riddle is trying to latch onto it in an attempt to get her to listen to his protests. There is also no mark on Riddle or harsh slap sfx to indicate contact was made.
Now then đŚ There's something very serious and relevant to this ask I'd actually like to discuss, so I hope you'll stick around to hear me out on this.
I know none of us really like Mrs. Rosehearts (which is fair, she has done a lot of terrible things to her son). However, I think it's dangerous for us to speak about her as though she's a total monster and nothing more than a monster. I'm NOT going to stand here and advocate that she has done nothing wrong (she definitely has committed many wrongs). What I'm saying is that I don't agree with her being treated like "just" an abuser.
Let's say we do demonize Mrs. Rosehearts. We see only her negative traits and allow those to define her entire character. This creates a scenario in which she is alienated and dehumanized, left as a caricature of a woman that is solely known for hurting her child. But the thing is, this ISNâT how abuse really works. Few abusers are completely wicked people through and through. Part of the reason why it is so difficult for victims to leave their abusers is because abusers almost never start off abusive. They usually act totally normal, and the abuse often doesnât come until later or specific situations arise. It creeps up on you in an almost insidious manner, and you donât expect it coming. Iâd also like to mention that abusers often donât act with the intentional thought of, âYeah, what Iâm doing/saying is abusiveâ. Abusers typically justify their actions or convince themselves they are acting out of goodness. They donât do bad things âbecause theyâre bad peopleâ, they do bad things because they think theyâre GOOD people. Some abusers may even be victims themselves.
By painting abusers (even fictional ones) as cartoonishly evil, irredeemable, or always cruel, it makes it harder for us to believe the very real danger that we, whom we see as âgoodâ people, could become âbadâ ourselves. It makes it harder to believe victims when they report abuse because âoh, the abuse isnât THAT badâ. It erases the idea that abusers are also human, and that humans have the capacity to be awful sometimes or to perpetuate hurt. It makes it so much harder to identify abuse because weâd only be looking for the most extreme examples of it rather than noticing the small, subtle signs. By âotheringâ abusers, itâs inadvertently denying so many nuances of abuse... which ultimately is counterproductive.
I would like to point out that even in the example provided of another abusive parent, Endeavor is portrayed with some nuance. He physically and verbally abused his wife, neglected the children he deemed worthless, and pushed the child he deemed to be his successor to the brink. However, Endeavor is also shown to remember a detail as small as his (arranged) wifeâs favorite flower when she only told him about it once. He is notably much more lenient when training his first son, who didnât have the ideal Quirk he sought. Endeavor at one point even confesses to pursuing being a hero in order to avoid the demands of fatherhood, which demonstrates a realistic insecurity and vulnerability⌠his humanity.
The same could be true for Mrs. Rosehearts. We only assume he is âjust an abuserâ because we see her in such a limited scope. There are valid reasons to believe why she is a âgoodâ person outside of how we see her acting in Riddleâs recollections, and this may help to explain why Riddle feels so hesitant to âstand upâ to her. I would really recommend reading this post, which goes a lot more in-depth about the complications surrounding Riddleâs relationship with his mother. Again, I am in NO WAY defending Mrs. Rosehearts; I am only pointing out that abusersâno matter how horrible their actionsâhave identities beyond the label of âabuserâ that should be acknowledged.

So everyone knows that fact about how humans have stripes that we just can't see right?
What if Smiley could see them, and is just incredibly confused when the rest of the gang are like "What?? We don't have stripes??" Because to her, they're RIGHT THERE
