Arts and Crafts

I hope we get another arts and crafts scene with the crew in season two and I have a fun idea, trailer spoilers beneath the cut.

I think it would be fun if the crew's arts and crafts project is Izzy's peg leg. Imagine Izzy is starting to recover and the crew has noticed he's having a hard time with his new mobility issues and well the crew doesn't have anything else going on at the moment so they set about making Izzy a prosthetic leg.

Jim sneaks in Izzy's room and steals his pants so Wee John and Frenchie can tailor them. Any whittling needed can be Black Pete. Other crew member's weird skills will come into play.

At the end they have a pretty good prototype for Izzy to try and they excitedly bring it to him. And yeah okay it's a bit weird looking because they used the unicorn hoof and a bit of the leg and they might have to tweak it a bit but they had fun making it.

They get Izzy to try it on, make some adjustments, and then Izzy can walk again.

Of course I'm also picturing Izzy breaking down and crying because the crew was nice to him.

okay listen… we’ve talked a lot about possible parallels between s1 and s2. but what about this: the last line of episode 10 was “oh, fuck me” when oluwande looked through his little telescope and spotted stede in his dinghy.

what if s2 ends with ed and stede reunited and making out like teenagers. after a while they’re looking deeply into each other’s eyes and one of them whispers the words “fuck me.” what then, huh?!

What if at the end of season 2 Stede and Ed promise to marry each other, but Ed gets kidnapped overnight by pirates who have beef with him (probably Hornigold or something), but someone, probably Lucius or Oluwande, witnesses the kidnapping and they tell Stede about it before he can start thinking that Ed abandoned him. Stede then sees the ship taking the love of his life away and clenches his fists in anger for a moment before he says, “Alright, everyone. We’ve got a rescue mission! We need to make preparations!” And you’d think that he’d actually get some battle equipment and gunpowder and useful shit like that, but in true Stede Bonnet fashion he gets everyone equipped with kitchen utensils and refills the stores with marmalade, as one does.

some more s2 predictions/wishes:

- stede cups ed’s face at some point and ed, tired of fighting it, leans into it with a sigh and closes his eyes

- they have tea together again. stede probably makes it but i’d love to see ed have a go where he fucks it up and stede drinks that whole cup anyway and says it’s lovely

- ed overhears stede talking to one of the crew, possibly lucius or olu, about ed. maybe stede reveals something about his absence that he hasn’t had a chance to tell ed yet, but mostly he just laments over how much he loves ed and wants to fix this gulf between them and we see ed visibly softening over it

- stede keeps the cake toppers

- ed gifts stede with something, a book or a trinket or something specific to them both and it’s one of the first times ed reaches out to him instead of the other way around. stede is a bit speechless and holds it to his chest lovingly even if ed tries to downplay it

- stede finds ed asleep or passed out and covers him - not with a blanket, but with the fuchsia robe

- there is a moment where ed or stede are facing someone down, or having some kind of tense moment, and the other steps beside them and takes their hand

- ed tells stede he’s sorry for what happened to him in the woods with chauncey. i just want stede to be very clearly reassured that he didn’t deserve it and chauncey was absolutely wrong - none of it was true

- stede kisses ed’s hand, ed kisses stede’s cheek

- ed gets to have a big cathartic cry while stede holds him

- at some point stede gets to put on the kraken makeup that the crew have been wearing

- they rest their foreheads together

- one of them gives the other a ring

When it comes to season 3:

• I can't imagine or accept a situation in which Izzy is not there in the flesh. Not after a season that specifically introduced the concept of magic and the gravy basket. I don't want him to be a ghost or a vision of guilt-ridden characters. I want my boy back, in the flesh, to pester everyone around him and to finally have his hot girl summer ‼️‼️‼️

• as much as even after the first 3 eps of s2 I could potentially see Steddyhands happening, all of that kinda went to shit in my eyes after they killed Izzy off.

• After everything that happened I can't and don't want to imagine Ed and Izzy reconciling enough to get involved with each other romantically.

• I can see Izzy with Stede tho. I'd actually like that quite a lot.

• at this point I'm not a Blackbonnet girlie (gn) by any stretch, and well, I can't imagine myself enjoying a potential season 3 if all it has to offer will be more drama between those two

• knowing them both, I think they will be making genuine attempts at running an inn for half an episode. And I'm being generous

• also, I can't imagine a season 3 that has Zheng just. Hanging out on the Revenge. Making out with Oluwande. And not even attempting to rebuild her pirate empire. I need my girl cunning and powerful with a fleet to show for it. I think that what they did to her by the end of the season was a shit writing decision. Was her losing her entire fleet... Supposed to humble her? To teach her a lesson? What lesson? That it's not things but people that really matter? It's kind of a weak message, especially for this character. And the execution of it was just. Plain bad lmao. Her talk with Auntie by the end was cute, yes, but it came so out of the blue tbh. If it has been established earlier on that maybe Zheng feels insecure sometimes and would like for Auntie specifically to tell her she's proud of her, that would make more sense. But this way it was kinda. It didn't have the punch it should've had.

• also sidenote: Zheng deciding to team up with Stede (even if it was mostly because Ed was also there) doesn't reflect well on him... It reflects badly on her. My girl deserves allies as powerful as her and Stede is simply not that.

• I want more crew shenanigans. And more backstory for every crew member!!!

• I can imagine a version of the story in which Stede and Ed break up and just don't get back together again by the end. It's so beautiful here. Hold my hand

• also sidenote, but has Jim just completely given up on taking their revenge on the Siete Gallos? I think it would've been fun to revisit that storyline

• also - WHAT HAPPENED TO JIM'S BROTHER

• honestly - after the shitshow that was season 2, I can't think of an actual potential way that the story could end. And tbh I don't think the writers do, either. I do have ideas, but they're mine and not the writers' of the show, and thus not very likely to actually happen.
