The southern region of Germany, close to the Swiss and French border, is home to Florian Döppert (vocals, lyrics, sax, blues harp, keyboard). With his first solo Project SOUTHDOGROCK a long-held wish comes true: Creating songs based on his own lyrics and musical ideas together with a professional producer. Florian found a very competent partner for this project: Frank Schultz, owner of PRO TON MUSIC. http://www.protonmusic.de/ The participating musicians and singers waive their fees and support the project with their skills. Without this voluntary support, the quality of the pieces of music would not be possible. Thanks to all friends and supporters of SOUTHDOGROCK. Many songs are still waiting to be produced but the first creation "Ride with me" is now ready to be released. SOUTHDOGROCK is a non-profit experiment that tries to use the available resources to produce outstanding songs. Each sponsorship will be spent to cover the production costs of the next song. Review: "The Street" & das Projekt SOUTHDOGROCK

Der Song: “The Street”

Sirenen erklingen und ein ausdrucksstarkes Gitarren Riff leitet den Track "The Street" ein. Mit der ersten Phrase "Ten thousand kids living on our street" bringt der Sänger die Handlung des Songs treffend auf den Punkt: Im lyrischen Focus steht die Obdachlosigkeit junger Menschen, denen es selbst in einem vergleichsweise reichem Land wie Deutschland nicht leicht fällt, das Leben auf der Straße zu meistern. Diese Thematik wird mit einem klassischen und ausdrucksstarken Rock Sound unterlegt, der die Härte des täglichen Lebens im Freien unterstreicht.

Besonders im ersten Part werden verschiedene Herausforderungen aufgegriffen: Niemand schläft gerne am Straßenrand in einem zusammengebastelten "Cardboard bed", niemand steht morgens freiwillig mit dem Gedanken "Another day, another fight" auf. Doch im zweiten Part gibt der Song vor allem eins: Hoffnung. "Hey Kids, In the darkest night, there's a light in die end". Alles in allem ist "The Street" ein sowohl musikalisch als auch lyrisch gelungener Track, der einerseits die harte Realität des Straßenlebens beschreibt, andererseits aber auch zum Nachdenken anregt: Ein Dach über dem Kopf ist viel Wert!

Das Projekt “SOUTHDOGROCK” unterstützt obdachlose Jugendliche

"The Street" thematisiert nicht nur das Leben obdachloser junger Menschen, sondern auch den Grundsatz des dahinter stehenden Projektes SOUTHDOGROCK. Mit diesem musikalischen Solo Projekt von Florian Döppert ist neben der Musik ein weiteres klares Ziel verbunden: Im Rahmen einer Crowdfunding Aktion sollen 50% der gesammelten Gelder der OFFROADKIDS Stiftung zu Gute kommen. Diese unterstützt obdachlose Jugendliche in schwierigen Situationen und bietet Perspektiven. Bis lang konnten von den angestrebten 3000€ bereits 750€ gesammelt werden.
