so the fan fictions won out for my upcoming works!

now drug/eternal fans do not fret because I will still be continuing and finishing that fic. will I be writing simultaneously? you would be correct!

now, what shall be voted on today is which of my fan fics will I be writing along side of the eternals fan, "the last hope". below will be the summary of each fic and just like before, you all get to vote on which one I will be posting. whichever becomes the top vote will be the next fanfic to be written along side the last hope; the next highest vote will be the next fan fiction and so on.

Katy’s chatter can still be heard from her spot ahead of you as you follow her and Xu Xialing further into the forest that they had picked to camp out in for the weekend. Camping wasn’t really your idea of fun but Katy and Shang-Chi had promised that they’d make it fun and enjoyable for you. There was an unsettling feeling of dread that you hadn’t been able to shake since Katy had parked the car in the parking lot. As you walk you can hear all of the leaves crunching under your footsteps but besides that and Katy’s chatter nothing else seems to be moving around the forest or making noise for that matter and it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

“Hey, are you okay?” Shang-Chi asks as he walks up beside you and you jump in surprise causing him to chuckle softly and look over at you concerned. You take a few moments to calm your racing heart and even out your breathing and he watches you silently as you do.

“Sorry, it’s just so quiet here.” you tell him and he lifts an eyebrow as Katy’s voice rings out loudly making you chuckle in response. “I mean besides our footsteps and her talking it’s quiet. Everything is still. It’s a little eerie, you’d think that we’d be hearing animals moving about or birds singing, but there’s nothing.” you try to explain before you hold your arm out and make him stop walking. He looks over at you curiously but you shake your head for a moment and raise your finger to your lips to keep him quiet. “Just wait a second.” you tell him and he furrows his eyebrows at you before watching Katy and Xu Xialing walk further away from you.

It takes another few moments but then Shang-Chi’s face clears and realization dawns on him. The two of you stand there for a moment and you both feel how still and quiet the forest is around you. There’s no movement in the tree branches above you, no sounds of scurrying creatures on the forest floor, no bird calls, just quiet. You unconsciously move closer to him and he smiles softly at you before taking a step closer to you as well.

“Wow, that is creepy.” Shang-Chi agrees in slight shock and you nod your head at his words. The two of you stand there for a moment more before Jon Jon’s loud voice rings in the air and his face cuts in between the two of you causing the both of you to jump in fear and terror.

“What are you two doing? Catch up we don’t want to get lost for the Wangliang.” he tells them cheerily as he pushes past them and moves to catch up to Katy and Xu Xialing.

“Wangliang?” you ask warily and turn to face Shang-Chi who shakes his head and frowns at Jon Jon’s back before turning his face towards you.

“Demons in Chinese folklore.” Shang-Chi explains and you feel your eyes widen with the information. “But it’s just folklore, just a scary story to tell to keep kids in line.” he tries to reassure you. You grow quiet before the two of you begin walking along to catch up with the other three. Your eyes are now darting around the forest looking out for this demon that Jon Jon mentioned. Shang-Chi knew that he’d have to keep reassuring you that it was nothing while you were all camping out.

The campfire is crackling and you’re sitting in your folding chair with a blanket wrapped around you. The canopy of the trees overhead almost completely cover the night sky that barely peeks through the dense foliage. You’re still a little spooked by how quiet the forest is but after spending some time with your friends you’ve relaxed a little bit and are able to enjoy it a little more than before where you were so creeped out by the quiet. Movement comes from your left and you turn your head to stare up at Shang-Chi and give him a happy smile.

“Feeling a little better?” he asks kindly and you nod your head before turning your eyes back to the flickering flames of the campfire.

“Yeah, I’m not as scared. It's just a little unnerving how dense the trees are, almost like isolating us from the outside world.” you said softly as you looked up at the canopy. Shang-Chi follows your movement and he hums softly at your words.

“Or-” he draws out and you smile over at him knowing that he’s going to give you a different option. “You could think it’s like a big blanket covering us and keeping all the noise of the outside world away from us.” he said and you pouted your lips slightly as you thought about his words.

“Yeah I guess I could think of it that way.” you agreed with him and he grinned over at you.

“Besides I’ll be here to protect you if anything goes bump in the night.” he promises and you chuckled softly at him.

“I’m gonna hold you to that.” you tell him and he nods his head eagerly at you. Just then Jon Jon comes walking over holding a couple of cans of beer that he hands out to all of you before he settles in his own chair around the campfire.

“So who wants to tell the first ghost story?” he asks and Shang-Chi moves to protest but you set a gentle hand on his arm stopping him. He turns to look at you worriedly and you smile at him before reminding him.

“You’ll be here to protect me right?” you ask and he smiles and nods at you quickly. Katy then speaks up that she wants to tell the first one. You settle further in your chair and wrap your blanket around yourself as Katy begins to tell a cheesy ghost story that has you all laughing while she swore that you should all be more frightened than you were.

“That was lame bus girl. I’ve got one better.” Jon Jon speaks up and you tense as he looks over at you with a smirk. Shang-Chi moves his chair closer to you and you smile thankfully at him before looking back over at Jon Jon. “Have you all heard about all the deaths in this forest over the years?” Jon Jon begins and you frown softly as the feeling of dread begins to creep back up on you now with his words. “The locals say that it’s all due to one woman who died while wandering around the forest by herself. She got into a fight with her husband and needed to get away for a little bit to calm down, that’s how she ended up parking here and began to walk through the forest. She was so enraged over the fight she had that she didn’t pay close attention to where she was heading or how to get back out of the forest.” Jon Jon began to explain and you easily fell into the story relating to it because of how encompassing the forest was and how easily it would be to get lost in here. You shifted in your chair and Shang-Chi gently offered his hand to you which you gladly took in your own. “When she finally realized that she was lost hours later she began to panic and tried to find her way out on her own. But she had been walking for hours and had lost track of direction so easily that she wasn’t able to tell which way would lead her out of the forest. And because the forest is so dense she wasn’t able to hear any sounds other than her own footsteps.”

You looked over at Shang-Chi and he grimaced slightly at your worried look. He shook his head slightly trying to reassure you that it was alright. You turned back to stare at Jon Jon and he smiled wickedly at you knowing that he had you hooked on the story.

“She thought to try her cellphone but she had left in her car because she had wanted to be alone without any distractions.” he said ominously and the dread feeling skyrocketed inside of you. It was so easy to relate to this story, you liked to remove yourself from a fight or argument by giving yourself some time alone to get your emotions under control. And being without distractions was always a good way to do it too in your mind. “In her panic she had managed to walk further and further into the heart of the forest where everything became so quiet. The quiet began to slowly chip away at her sanity as she walked, she began to wail and cry out without any response. Almost as if the forest was absorbing her voice.” Jon Jon said darkly and you gripped Shang-Chi’s hand slightly tighter in your own. He responded by gripping yours back as well and you let that comfort settle over you. “She walked for days until she couldn’t walk anymore. The dehydration caused her to start hallucinating thinking that she was able to exit the forest but only to find a sliver of sanity that brought her right back into the depths of the forest. Her husband had reported her missing the first night that she didn’t come home after their fight, and the police had been able to find her car parked in the parking lot of the forest. But even with search parties and drones being deployed they were never able to find her. They say that her bones are probably somewhere in the depths of this forest but no one has been able to ever hike throughout this forest. A lot of hikers have gone missing in this forest and a lot of other hikers say that once they get to a certain point in the forest they start to hear a woman’s voice crying and begging for help to get out of the forest. And when they try to follow her voice they always turn up with nothing and never being able to find a woman in the forest.” Jon Jon finishes and you shiver as you feel a chill slowly creep down your spine. “Now who’s ready for some smores?!” he cries out and you stare at him with wide eyes wondering how he could be so unbothered by the atmosphere of the forest as well as the story he told. The feeling of dread continued to simmer inside of you as everyone all clamored around the fire to make smores.

It’s hours later and after a few rounds of beer, smores and good company you’re feeling very relaxed and loose while sitting in your chair. Shang-Chi is still sitting next to you when you let out a big yawn, he turns to you and chuckles at your antics. Shaking your head you smile at him before beginning to stretch and stand from your chair.

“Looks like we got our first tap out.” Jon Jon teases you and you stick your tongue out at him causing everyone to laugh while Jon Jon sticks his tongue out at you.

“I’m gonna get some sleep.” you tell them and they all smile at you before you turn towards your tent that you had set up earlier. Shang-Chi follows you with his eyes and you wave at him with a soft smile before disappearing in your tent. You start getting your sleeping bag ready and pull out pajamas for you to wear tonight. Your mind fuzzy and warm from the alcohol and fire as drowsiness starts to consume you.

Just as you’re slipping your pajama shirt over your head you hear the soft rustling of leaves next to your tent and halt all movement, the noise sounding foreign to you in the otherwise quiet forest. Your mind begins to race back to the story that Jon Jon had told around the campfire, the thought of being stuck in the forest to die fills you with fear that freezes your body. You stand there listening to see if there’s any other sounds, you hear crunching and frown softly before the side of your tent violently shakes and you hear Jon Jon laughing loudly as you shriek in fright.

“Gotcha!” Jon Jon calls out as he continues laughing and you sigh softly at his teasing. You finish getting dressed and open your front tent flap and come face to face to Shang-Chi. He frowns down at you before shaking his head and rolling his eyes.

“Ignore him, he’s being childish.” he says and you smile softly at him before nodding your head.

“I’m fine, I promise.” you told him trying to sound brave but Shang-Chi looks down at you with worry written on his face.

“Are you sure?” he asks softly and you nod your head quickly at him causing him to sigh softly. “Okay, if you need anything I’m right over here.” he says softly as he hikes his thumb over his shoulder to the tent that’s set up right next to yours. You look over and smile softly before nodding your head again, the unease and dread are still lingering inside of you but you feel slightly better knowing that he’s not that far from you.

You go back into your tent and settle in your sleeping bag before closing your eyes hoping that you’ll quickly fall asleep, but soon find yourself wide awake as you stare at the top of your tent listening to the silence of the forest around you. It almost becomes a meditating atmosphere for you as you lay there in the dark silence. Your mind begins to slow it’s thoughts and you start to focus solely on your breathing. You’ve fallen into a meditative state when suddenly a loud wailing sound rips through the air and your whole body startles and you’re automatically rushing to the front of your tent. You look over and see Shang-Chi at his tent as well as all the others at their own tents. You all stare into the dark now silent forest as your body begins to shake and shiver with fear.

“Alright, I’m coming to your tent.” you say quickly as you grab your sleeping bag before heading to Shang-Chi’s tent. He easily holds the tent flap open and you slip in without another word.

“I’m with her.” Katy says as she barrels into Shang-Chi’s tent as well.

“Oh you big babies!” Jon Jon calls and you ignore him willfully as you begin setting up your sleeping bag on the floor. Katy does the same on your other side and the two of you settle down as Shang-Chi closes the tent flap. The three of you get situated and soon Katy’s snoring behind you as Shang-Chi stares at you with wide comical eyes making you chuckle softly, you yawn widely and Shang-Chi smiles before he yawns widely as well. The two of you slowly close your eyes and soon you’re fast asleep.

The next morning, you, Katy and Shang-Chi wake and feel refreshed, you all stretch and begin to head out of the tent. When you look over at Xu Xialing and Jon Jon’s tent you see the both of them exiting their tents looking worse for wear and exhausted.

“How did the three of you sleep through all that wailing last night?!” Jon Jon asks begrudgingly and you look to Shang-Chi and Katy to see them shrugging their shoulders.

“We didn’t hear anything last night besides the first wailing.” Katy tells him and you nod your head along with her words. Jon Jon huffs and begins to clean up his tent area with low grumbling under his breath. Xu Xialing comes over to the three of you though and explains what happened last night.

“After you and Katy got into Shang-Chi’s tent the wailing continued for hours! It was unbearable, we couldn’t get any sleep. And the wailing sounded so close as if it was right outside our tents! I’m surprised you didn’t hear anything!” Xu Xialing said, shocking all three of you as you turned and looked around the now silent forest. You rubbed your arm as a chill ran down your spine and you looked over at Katy and Shang-Chi who both moved closer to your side before the three of you began to clean up your tents quickly.

The spooky carnival that had popped up last week was in full gear when you, Katy and Shang-Chi had arrived. The theme for the carnival was frights and scares and the crew did a fabulous job with making everything seem eerie. The lights were dimmed and held an ethereal glow about them in different shades of colors, there was purple, gray and neon green and with the fog machine that they had running throughout the carnival it made the colors glow in the fog. It was all nicely done and you felt yourself falling further and further into the immersive atmosphere. A little bit too much falling into the immersive atmosphere you thought.

The three of you were walking into the carnival as all the dressed up actors milled about trying to scare the carnival goers. You walked in between Katy and Shang-Chi as your head turned from side to side so that you could take in everything around you. One of the actors who was dressed up as a devilish looking scarecrow advanced towards Katy with their arms raised and screaming loudly, causing Katy to jump back into you. Your body gently fell back a step as your hands came up to cradle Katy’s body close to yours as you felt your back gently rest against Shang-Chi’s side as his own hands came up to steady you. Once Katy was righted she began to jeer back at the actor causing you and Shang-Chi to chuckle and shake your heads.

“Yeah! I’d like to see you do that again pal!” Katy called out as the actor moved on from the three of you. You’re still shaking your head when you spot one of the actors standing across the main entryway of the carnival from you, they’re wearing a beige long robe that had a rope belt and a large hood obscuring their face from your view. You shivered as a feeling of unease slid down your back as your eyes stayed trained on the actor who didn’t move or make any noise.

“You okay?” Shang-Chi asked concerned and you darted your head up to stare at him.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m okay, do you see that person in the robe?” you ask as you turn back to look at the actor, but when you look back you see that they’re gone. “Oh, I guess they moved.” you said unsure of yourself and Shang-Chi smiled softly down at you. “They were really creepy, completely covered in a beige robe with a hood and not moving at all or making any noise.” you explained and Shang-Chi nodded his head along with your words.

“We’ll keep an eye out for them.” he reassured you and you nodded slightly, feeling uncertain because the actor had disappeared. You began walking along with Katy and Shang-Chi again when you felt something grab onto your hand and you looked down to see Shang-Chi had taken your hand in his, smiling softly you squeezed his hand gently and he squeezed yours back.

The three of you began to continue through the carnival entering some of the themed haunted houses that they had built for the carnival. You had gone through a serial killer themed one where the story was that you were on the run from the serial killer and they had chased you through their childhood home that was filled with booby traps. Katy had been the only one in your group that had “survived” which made both you and Shang-Chi chuckle at her victory dance at the end. As the three of you began leaving the house you spotted Shang-Chi not walking with you and Katy as he was still standing back by the haunted house staring off to the side. You walked back over to him and gently touched his elbow as you gazed in the same direction he was gazing, you didn’t see anything but wondered if he had seen something like you had before.

“What do you see?” you ask him gently and he jolts surprised as his head whips down to stare at you and then back over to where he had been looking.

“I thought I saw that robed guy you saw earlier.” he began to explain and you nodded your head at his words as you watched him frown and then furrowed his eyebrows. “But now he’s gone.” he says softly and you nod your head again as your eyes dart around the area trying to find the robed actor again. You shiver slightly and move closer to Shang-Chi as chill races down your spine and he easily wraps an arm around your shoulder. “Don’t worry I’ll make sure you’re alright.” he promises softly and you nod at him gratefully.

The second themed haunted house you guys went through had a story about creepy dolls, that one really made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Fear consumed you as you walked through the house and stuck close to Shang-Chi and Katy’s sides as you made your way through not wanting to be too spooked or scared. Shang-Chi was the most unbothered of your group to go through this house and he was dubbed the winner of the house. But as the three of you were walking out Katy had stopped short right in front of the exit and you had collided with her back as Shang-Chi managed to stop short before colliding with you.

“Woah! Who’s that dude!” Katy called out as she lifted her arm and pointed to someone across from where you all were standing. All three of you stared across the area to the otherside of the exit to see what Katy was looking at.

“What is it Katy?” you asked her softly knowing that she was seeing the robed actor that both you and Shang-Chi had seen earlier.

“Some dude in a tan robe.” she said, sounding slightly in awe as the volume of her voice lowered towards the end of her explanation. “He’s standing right over there. Don’t you see him?” she explained bewildered as both you and Shang-Chi looked where she was pointing. Your eyes darted over to Shang-Chi’s and saw his soft subtle headshake before you responded to Katy.

“We can’t see him now. But we’ve seen him at different times tonight.” you told her softly and ominously causing her to turn and look at the both of you. Her face gave off a confused bewildered look and both Shang-Chi and you nodded in answer to her look.

“Yeah we’ve been seeing him at odd times and he never moves or says anything.” Shang-Chi said to back you up. “And he disappears when we take our eyes off him.”

“What?!” Katy cried shocked as she whipped her head back to look at the robed actor but wasn’t able to find him. “Where’d he go?!” she cried out surprised.

“Told you that he’d disappear.” Shang-Chi said as he shook his head. Katy kept looking around the carnival as you all made your way to the last haunted house, you knew she was looking for the robed actor and trying to see if she could spot him. But it was no use, he was nowhere to be found.

The three of you came up to the last house that you planned on going through and all looked slightly uneasy as you saw it. It was a rundown looking house with busted out windows and siding that was falling off the house. It really made you feel as if you were standing in front of an abandoned house. Your eyes darted over to the sign that normally stood in front of the haunted house advertising what the backstory was for the house but there was none posted. You frowned softly and watched as a group of five people walked up to the house eagerly and then shrieked as they entered the house.

“Are we really going to do this?” Katy asked and sounded very uncertain about it. Shang-Chi shrugged his shoulders and you tilted your head to the side. “Well let’s get this over with.” she said resignedly before walking up to the house. Just as the three of you reached the front door something moved in the bushes next to the door and you turned your head to see the robed figure standing there. Shocked, you halted your footsteps but Katy and Shang-Chi continued on. 

“Wait, guys!” you called out as you realized that they had walked in without you. You quickly followed them into the house but stopped short when you walked into a small front room with three different doors leading out of the room and neither Katy nor Shang-Chi were in the room. “Shang-Chi!? Katy?!” you called out hoping to hear from them but there was nothing but silence in response. Moving to the left you opened that door to find a brick wall behind the door, after moving to the middle door you found that one was also bricked up before you moved to the right side door and opened it to find a long dark hallway on the other side. “Guys?!” you called out unsure before stepping through the door.

The hallway was pitch black and you wound your arms around yourself to try and comfort you as fear filled your body. Suddenly there was a loud shriek from somewhere in the house and you jumped in surprise, your hand brushed against the wall and you frowned softly as you felt how soft the wall was. It almost felt like cloth lined the wall. Lifting your head slowly dread filled your body before you came face to face with the hooded figure. Skeletal like hands came up to the edges of the hood and slowly began to pull it back and your mouth dropped open in a scream as a red eyed skeletal face peered back at you. He lunged for you and instantly everything went black.

maybe you have an idea already, maybe someone already requested but i had this thought. For Xu Shang-chi x sorceress where it's like the day of the date but sorceress can't go bc of something. Maybe a threat she and Wong have to deal with. And wait omg imagine if doctor strange calls shang-chi and says oh y/n told me to tell u she can't make it. But he doesn't say why. And shang is like hurt thinking maybe she didn't like him at all but then in the week while shang is working reader goes to see him and talks to him and everything is fine and Katy is there ofc queen. Okay. You're not obligated to like write this at all. Just a thought 🥺😖
