I thought I was completely numb to my mother’s abuse at this point but she always finds new ways to shock me. Today was the final nail in the putrid coffin of our relationship. I should feel devastated, I should be gut wrenched but all I can do is smile. I rid myself of my two biggest anxieties today and I am finally free to live my own life full of love rather than waste away in worry. It’s heart breaking it had to come to this. We both lost our mothers today but we gained ourselves and now we can focus on the happiness of our own little family.
