"The Ocellated Turkey is the gaudier tropical cousin of the world's only other turkey species, our familiar Thanksgiving bird. Unlike its northern relative, the Ocellated Turkey does not have a broad range. It's only found on the Yucatán Peninsula, which embraces a few Mexican states, the northern half of Belize, and Guatemala's northern Petén region. Despite its size and eye-popping plumage, this bird lurks mostly unseen amid thick foliage."

based on the ocellated turkey, dzul cutz (mayan for "lord" turkey) and general glass based mexican folkart ocellated turkeys (Meleagris ocellata) are a well known species of turkey in the soutern part of north america and the northern part of central america, its easily recognized by its colorful irdiscen plumage and tends to be confused with the peafowl as it culturally took a similar spot culturally before the peafowl was introduced to america theres actually a mayan story about how it got its colorful plumage, the story of dzul cutz, were he makes a deal with the messanger of the gods Puhuy to borrow its feathering and become the king of all birds, however after finding out how he cheated its cry is swapped for one that everyone would make fun of as a punishment whith the arrival of the spanish glass related work became a very important part of mexican culture, specially stained glass which was a big part of how catholic churches use the imagery of churches to show biblical stories, it asl o got a big push thanks to the Art Noveau movement and has remained a very important part of architecture of decoration. glasswork has also become a lot more popular in the last few centuries thanks to the development of more workshops that do stuff like sculptures and vases, glass marbles where specially popular in the last century which are the little glass things growing on vitracutz

Ocellated turkey (Meleagris ocellata)

The ocellated turkey is a species of turkey residing primarily in the Yucatán Peninsula. It is a relatively large bird, at around 70–122 cm long.The body feathers of both sexes are a mixture of bronze and green iridescent color. Turkeys spend most of the time on the ground and often prefer to run to escape danger through the day rather than fly, though they can fly swiftly and powerfully for short distances as the majority of birds in this order do in necessity. Roosting is usually high in trees away from night-hunting predators such as jaguars and usually in a family group. The Ocellated Turkey is a generalist in terms of its feeding habits. They are known to feed on a wide variety of forage including but not limited to insects such as beetles, moths, and leafcutter ants, grass seeds, nuts, and leaves.
