Headcanon #6
Severus would be an adorable flustered man when he receives a just because gift from Y/N.
It's a bound book of a boudoir photo session. He would open it before slamming it shut. In the privacy of his rooms, he peeks at the photos. His fingers tracing the contours on paper. The book contains both muggle still lifes, and wizarding photos.
When y/n does the particular wink from page 15, severus just about implodes.

I cannot find any physical description of Ka'Mort anywhere in Calamity, or anywhere else, but do you know who is described as having one big green eye? The one Betrayer God who's tenets demand that he is worshipped above all other gods, the one who demands secrecy, the newest member of the pantheon - our old friend, the Whispered One.
#cr spoilers#like he's not explicitly as much as a retvrn guy as ashton seems to be becoming but like. he did animate the titan and it's not impossible#that his magic still remains dormant in it. plus he did occlude his true nature from delilah until she promised to help him return#if there ever was a motherfucker who wanted the gods to disappear and remain as the sole god either side of the divine gate it would be him#and ashton is definitely incurious anti-god and retvrn-y enough to fall right into a trap if vecna's the one pulling this string#critical role#cr meta#ashton greymoore

Light And Shader Fix for EA Cabinets
By bessy at ModTheSims
This mod is a newfound holy grail mod for me, as I have been so very frustrated for an extremely long time with how dark and shadowy everything gets around counters and cabinets when they are placed. I'm so happy to have found this. I had to immediately test it out in my game:

Editing occlusion shadows on objects
This is a tutorial aimed at creators and converters who want to understand, at least a little, how to improve the appearance of their objects in the game. Yes, it’s a bit exhausting, just like creating an object from scratch, mapping it and texturing it, but the result is worth it. The shadow dynamics of TS3 are different from TS4. In TS4, the game itself creates these shadows when the object approaches a wall. In TS3 it is necessary for these shadows to be created using “lights” in TSRW. Of course, the occlusion is not perfect, but it gives the game a more realistic aspect by creating this idea of depth.
The icing on the cake: keep these shadows if they are large objects, like cabinets, sofas, beds, tables, chairs… Small decorative objects, like clutter, you can just delete these shadows. But if you are crazy about perfection and details, and really want even an ant to create its shadow when approaching a wall, my tip is that you clone using a small object as a base as this will make editing the shadows easier.
I will use as an example this armoire that I edited a while ago. The shadows have been edited and look like this when you open them in TSRW:
In the game, this is how the shadows appear when we position the object close to a wall:
To edit the shadows, you must click on the "MISC" tab in TSRW. These shadows are right below, where "LIGHTS" is written. Note that there is a + sign next to it and when you click it, a drop-down list appears with all the shadows separated. In this example there are 3 of these shadows. The names are the same, but let's say we have shadow 1 (front), shadow 2 (top) and shadow 3 (side). Edits must be made in the order they appear.
Click on the three dots to the right of lights. A window as shown in the image below will appear:
The lights that must be edited are found in the part where it says "OCCLUDERS". In this case, "Entry 1" corresponds to our "SHADOW 1" (front)...
For the front shadow, we will start by changing these two parameters that correspond to the width and position of the shadow. My tip is that you copy the original value, change this value to 1 and then click on "OK" to see what happens (that is, to see what changes when changing the value, so you will know if you need to change it to a higher value or smaller...). If it's not what you need, just paste the original value copied previously into the corresponding field and change it little by little until you reach the correct size of the object.
Front shadow height:
For the distance the shadow is from the object, this field must be edited - remembering that we are still editing the front shadow (which corresponds to the shadow that will replicate the width of the object on the wall):
For the other shadows, you must follow the same path: changing the values until it is proportional to the size of the object.
Bonus tip: Open various base game objects in TSRW and see how shadows are created. For example, select a chair and study each shade individually. With practice, you will realize that all you have to do is create a shadow on all sides of the object. For example: on a bed, you should have a shade for the headboard, another for the footboard, another for the side and another for the top, which would be the mattress. Therefore, it is important to study each type of object separately.
Now you might be asking yourself: Oh, yes, thank you very much... But where do I start? How will I know how to create a shadow from scratch? OMG! Help me!
Don't worry, it's very simple: when cloning an object, like a bed for example, it's obvious that you will use a bed from the game as a clone... So just edit the original shadows that correspond to the clone, so that they are the size of the bed you are creating for the game. Only that.
I say again: each object is a specific case. This tutorial is just a simple way to show you the way to understand how these shadows work and how they are generated for the game.
Yes, creating a beautiful object is hard work and requires dedication, time and effort. Therefore, value the creators who strive to deliver you a quality object ♥.
If you feel like helping me, here is a link for donations. Thank you very much ♥.

19th's Steam Next Fest Impressions Jun 2025 Edition - Day 5
Shorter one today and late. Had a busy day yesterday.

Occult Puzzle Solitaire
The game is framed as a ritual, a means of people to undo a past mistake. Each "game" is framed as a different person with a different sin.
At first glance it's a simple solitaire variant. Move cards around on stacks, and send them to each suit's two discard piles in ascending or descending order. You can only move one card at a time, and have a single "purgatory" space to get one card out of the way. Taken alone it's already a pretty alright solitaire variant
The gimmick is that each level has a different set of hidden rules, noted by the coins on the top right. If you fulfill the secret conditions, the coins flip into place. You et a bad end if you flip no coins, a neutral end if you only flip some, and a good end if you flip all. It's really challenging. I was only able to finish the first game.
I do really like this idea, but have some minor quibbles.
You're given free undo's, but the second you place a card off the tableau, you cannot undo past that point. I understand this prevents brute forcing, but I'll often learn I broke a rule somehow by doing that discard.
The Game could also use a bit more signposting. The undo or reset button will start flashing if you've reached a point where it's impossible to fulfill the conditions, but it never says this. You have to notice it yourself. I wasted time on impossible games because of this.
I am hoping the individuals stories of each deck start building on each-other instead of just being isolated set dressing
Yoram
A victorian murder mystery, starring a murderer.
You play as Irene Lindham, the youngest and disgraced daughter of the incredibly wealthy lindham family. When her father unexpectedly passes away, she's one of the few available to help manage the funeral arrangements.
As the family gathers, her alcaholic and estranged husband, divorced in all but legal standing, barges in. While alone, there's an altercation, and she kills him in an act of self defense.
Desperately trying to cover her tracks, she learns that his is not the only murder being investigated that night. Now she has to try and pin her murder on the other killer.
There's a lot I like going on here. Irene's narration is great. A desperation for independence while also denying it's possibility, a combination of guilt and mild resentment towards those who both care for and belittle her. For Umineko heads it feels very Natsuhi.
There's a confrontation system, similar to phoenix wright style cross examination. It feels somewhat thinner, but I like its framing. Less a struggle for truth and more a desperate gambit for survival, even if it means using lies or intimidation.
There's seeds of an overarching conspiracy going on, that her accident was a wrench in some larger plan, and I'm excited to see more.
Main problem right now is bugs. I started yesterday and got softlocked, but the devs were prompt in fixing the problem. There were some other issues, though, like the wrong name appearing in a textbox or a UI element covering up important info during a confrontation, but the remaining ones can be worked around, and the devs seem on the ball with fixing them.

Abstract One Button Swing Platformer.
You play as a little guy. Press a button to hook onto the nearest anchor point and swing around it. collect all the whatsits and complete the stage.
This is a mobile game. I don't mean this as a prejorative, this is a port.
It's perfectly fine. Good sense of momentum. IT takes a bit too long for it to feel legit challenging. There are a lot of modes but I didn't bother to try them all.
Didn't really inspire anything major in me, just… if you want a pleasant mindless mobile experience, it's there.

Games I Experienced Between 4/11/25-6/14/25
There are four Next Fest demos on here and the next update is going to be almost half demos. I love this event :)
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney trilogy (played): These games are mechanically perfect but the stories are nonsensical and unethical.
Blackwell Unbound (watched: ZenBear): The relationships between Joey and his mediums are everything to me. That said, Lauren is cool but I miss Rosangelaaaa :(
Castlevania Legends (watched: Kikoskia): I think there are some people who would be very upset to learn that this was my first experience with Castlevania ever
Chook & Sosig: Walk the Plank (played): Does not resemble any TTRPG I’ve ever heard of, but from me that isn’t saying much.
Cryptmaster (played): Apparently there was a major update launched not long after I finished this one. I'd be interested if it wasn't 100% about the optional card game. I liked Whatever, but not that much.
Deltarune (played): Mettatenna exists but can you also believe that I enjoyed other parts of this game, as well?
Dispatch (played demo): I don't care about literally a single one of the highly advertised voice actors, but the game itself seems incredible.
Downhill (played demo): I think this one is trying to do something very similar to Deltarune, just in a much more overt way (you as the player can actually converse with the protagonist).
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (watched: Welonz): I still think they should just let Sephiroth destroy the world or whatever it is he wants to do.
Golden Idol Investigations: The Lemurian Phoenix (played): Language puzzle, translation puzzle, yay!
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (played): Somehow, this game about teenagers in the 1990's made me, an almost-30 in the 2020's, hopeful that it's not too late to live a life worth living.
Luna (played): Frankly a little shocked to see people from Supergiant and DoubleFine thanked in the credits of this very mid game
My Card Is Better Than Your Card! (played demo): So cute! Makes my sticker-loving heart sing.
Occlude (played demo): I have never really played Solitaire so I spent more time trying to figure out how Solitaire itself worked than actually engaging with the twists the game put on it. Seems like a good puzzley game for smarter people than me.
Promise Mascot Agency (played): Similar to all-time favorite Paradise Killer in a lot of ways, but different in very surprising ways, as well. I'm never the biggest fan of management mechanics and I do sometimes feel like they get in the way of exploring the open world.
Sarawak (played): I had a nice interaction with someone on Backloggd who suggested another game with similar vibes when I expressed that I liked this one and wanted more like it!
Your Turn To Die (watched: adricarra): I'm really surprised that I've been able to follow such a complicated game while watching it for the first time in Spanish.

Summary: Keith's solution to his steadily escalating problem is to hide it and hope it goes away. So instead of noticing what's the matter with Keith, everyone notices the steady escalation of his hiding. It's only marginally an improvement. (It's not an improvement at all.)
Author: @whetstonefires
Note from submitter: This is a very good 'Keith turning physically galra' fanfiction. Love some body transformation horror and self-identity crisis.

started writing a post about how, in american 80s tv, guys were allowed to be unequivocally unwell with little to no narrative condemnation because it was simply presented as "cool", but i could not really formulate what i wanted to say. still can't, really. it is what it is.
#this is what made me “get it” and start liking them after my exposure therapy#(watching american 80s tv and trying not to die from secondhand embarassment)#80s tv is like the peak form of american tv. it's extra disjointed and occluded. the continity is often strange and sometimes scrambled.#insane things happen and characters just move on. its like 2000s american tv on stereoids
