Pov: the ninja watching Tamasui and Xeanee reunite @morro-da-ghost

Me and @morro-the-true-green-ninja have been working on a music project together revolving our AUs, as we've realized that both of our AUs have one thing in common: The First Spinjitzu Master has screwed characters up emotionally and physically, who eventually become main antagonists in the canon series (Yakunan becoming the Overlord, and Avra becoming the Preeminent). Here's a little look into that.

This particular image is the last moment that Yakunan, and his son Xenudah have together, before Yakunan leaves to fight Hikari, the First Spinjitzu Master. As Yakunan becomes further corrupted by his element, the crystals turn from an indigo blue-purple into a bright pink, which is how they look in Crystalized, so I wanted to tie that in with me and Morro's combined alternate universe. Additionally, it's this very color shift that finally breaks Xenudah, as he realizes his father is no longer with him and the same person he once knew.

First Spinjitzu Master's Retribution: A LEGO Ninjago AU

Created by Zena Airale ( @keliharuza ), Elina Sakura ( @elina-sakura ), and Morro/Winderful/SOTE/Soul of the Existence ( @soul-of-the-existence ), First Spinjitzu Master's Retribution is a Ninjago AU revolving around the First Spinjitzu Master's inner prejudices. Many of the aus in this multiverse have the Overlord and/or the Preeminent are more sympathetic characters. They have families of their own, and it's these relationships that fuel the First Spinjitzu Master's hatred over them, as he believed anything that would normally be associated with darkness and evil are that way by default. FSM's Retribution: A Ninjago AU

Yakunan came before the Oni could corrupt him and the FSM (Hikari). Yakunan raised Xenudah with Hikari together (non-romantically for clarification), but then the Oni came. Yakunan fought the oni with the FSM but Yakunan (who dubbed himself the Overlord) and Xenudah got corrupted as a result. Yakunan raised his son Xenudah until he was 10 years old. He hid Xenudah within a cave, then battled Hikari for control over Ninjago. As it turned out, Hikari was playing the Akurai family the whole time, believing all those who were associated with darkness and shadow were evil by default. In a last ditch effort to attempt to defeat the First Spinjitzu Master, Yakunan merged with his element of darkness, losing his humanity partly, nearly forgetting about his son. When the land split, Yakunan realized his son was trapped within that cave and could do nothing to bring him back. In his despair and devastation, he descended further into madness, vowing to take control of Ninjago to reunite with his child once again. When Xenudah realized his father was no longer in his presence, he began to feel resentful towards him while also desperately longing for him to come back. When Xenudah was alone, Shiren had a one-night stand with him. In her guilt, she fled, taking Kymika with her upon her birth. However, she felt she could no longer raise Kymika, fearing that her daughter's lineage would ruin her life and how people would perceive her, and she gave her up for adoption at a very young age. She became known as a vigilante fighter called the Crimson Shinobi since then. Having lost all three of his family members, Xenudah descended further into madness until he reached his breaking point: upon his freedom from his prison, his ongoing resentment evolved into fury, vengeance, and hatred towards Lloyd, who he had presumed to have killed his father as the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master (which was not the case as Lloyd purified him, much like he had with Garmadon). All members of the family desperately sought to reunite with each other once again.

Okay, so the saying goes “cool motive, still murder”. But how about: cool murder.. still motive?

The Overlord’s not really that bad a guy.. if the First Spinjitzu Master didn’t judge him immediately, for being an evil shadow, things could have turned out better, and that was when he was just created.. one could even say, his childhood! We gotta give the Overlord a chance to redeem himself
