Thinking about my OC Star Trek Ship, the Harker again.

Origin and 2 new crew members.

The Harker, before it was given it's title, was an experimental scouting frigate that was in development during the Dominon War, code named the "Grey Bat", equipped for with experimental/advanced scanning technology, communications ability, experimental "stealth tech" (not cloaking), and accommodations that would allow a small crew to comfortably exist behind enemy lines for weeks or months at a time.

The War ended before the "Grey Bat" was called to service, and post-war was retrofitted for peacetime, it's more experimental systems removed in place of more reliable tools, weapons downgraded, and the ship was given new purpose as a tool of paranormal investigation, renamed by it's new Captain as "The Harker".

New Crew:

Zimmer Vonn: Leader of the ship's engineering division, the Bajoran LT was a sapper during the Occupation, though their philosophies often clashed with other Bajorans, causing them to join Starfleet after victory was won.

Works well with Captain Stonewall, given he himself was an engineer once where young Von is.

Enjoys puzzles, learning about history and new cultures, and playing historical combat games (tabletop).

Rachel Thors: The "Watcher of Watchmen" as it were, Starfleet Intelligence's internal affairs representative, to ensure the crew of the Harker follow proper laws and don't go "cowboy". Captain Stonewall values her greatly, and goes to her for advice often, the two enjoying a professional respect.

Child of a Human Man and Vulcan Lady, raised primarily on Earth. More expressive of her emotions compared to other Vulkans, but respects the ideals of Vulcan logic.

After the stress of the her last several assignments, she views The Harker as something of a "vacation", despite often being thrown into peril during her time with the crew.

Okay so like the Gods cant really get drunk without drinking a distillery, but the ones who absolutely would do that are Cain and Cancer. Cain because he just likes to drink and Cancer because she likes to ignore the world.

Now outside the Gods it would be Claud, a friend to Thread in her original story. She owns a bar and absolutely would get black out drunk, but her husband and the fact that she needs to Sell The Alcohol Not Drink It prevent her from actually doing that. I miss my human OCs, but I still want to draw animals... so I drew my OCs as chinchillas LOL. Followers who’ve been following me for a long time might remember Ruki and Vonn!! To new followers, you can see their human designs here and here!! For the chinchilla versions, I changed their names to Ruri and Voon to make it more pet-like 🤣

I’ve also been trying to learn technical terms in chinchilla breeding - Ruri is a black pearl breed, and Voon is a black white cross carrying violet ☺️

How do Vulcan naming conventions work? I don't speak star trek but I need to know for reasons 👀

usually the male vulcan has a name that starts with a S and ends in a K or another hard sound--some canon examples are:

Spock

Sarek

Stonn

Sybok

Selek

in canon there’s also Tuvok, so it doesn’t always have to start with an S. i have a vulcan OC named Stan, and I also use Vonn as like a generic-extra name. usually these names aren’t too many syllables, either. also names like Sock or Spork would be perfectly acceptable. 

female vulcans are usually named T’P___. (and again, usually only one syllable besides the t’). canon examples are:

T’Pring

T’Pau

T’Pol

however a lot of people change it up and use a different letter for the second part of the name--i have an oc named T’Va, for example. 

uhhhhh also idk how nonbinary vulcans would work, I think if I was making up one I would do something like T’[traditionally male name] or something like that.
