Left to right, First her Grandfather Seiua Karahana, her mentor in her teen years, but he passed when she was 18. Then her mother Fumiye, being the rebel of the family married a foreigner named Dmitri and had Hatomi. Despite Seiua not overly fond of foreigners learning their ways, he had a great respect for Dmitri and how he made his eldest daughter happy. But they died😂. Hope ya like and stay tuned!

The Echo comes to people when their soul is reminded of the grief and devastation of the Final Days, that sense of loss being what can connect them to the Mothercrystal. Suzume, a Doman persimmon farmer, was not present in Eorzea for the Fall of Dalamud, a more traditional re-awakening of a Warrior of Light, so this leaves a much more personal tithe to pay.

It is midday, when Suzume aan Hanaki first smells smoke.

Hero Name: Felinite This name combines “feline” with “dynamite,” symbolizing Suzume’s explosive energy, agility, and her cat-like nature. It’s sleek, unique, and perfectly suited to her personality.

Quirk: Cat

Suzume Toraishi’s quirk, Cat, grants her the enhanced abilities of a feline, elevated to superhuman levels. These include heightened senses like sharp hearing, exceptional night vision, and an acute sense of smell. Her agility, balance, and reflexes are also far beyond a normal human’s, allowing her to perform feats such as scaling walls, leaping great distances, or dodging attacks with uncanny precision. In addition to her physical prowess, Suzume has retractable claws for combat and a playful, stealthy nature that lets her stalk or ambush her opponents.

Her feline traits are evident even in her human form, with her expressive cat ears and a sleek, swishing tail. Beyond this, Suzume can fully transform into a massive Maine Coon, roughly the size of a lion, which boosts her strength and endurance dramatically.

Enhanced Agility: Suzume moves with the speed and grace of a cat, effortlessly dodging attacks and navigating difficult terrain. Her extreme flexibility allows her to perform acrobatic feats with ease, landing from great heights unharmed and maintaining perfect balance in precarious situations.

Heightened Senses: With hearing, sight (especially in low light), and smell rivaling those of a cat, Suzume excels as a tracker and scout. Her acute senses make her invaluable in rescue operations and give her an edge in combat, detecting threats before they emerge.

Claws and Strength: Suzume’s retractable claws make her a formidable close-range fighter, enabling her to scale walls, slice through obstacles, and take down opponents with precision. She also has significant strength, capable of carrying multiple people at once while in her Maine Coon form.

Zoomies: When excitement or restlessness takes over, Suzume enters bursts of intense energy known as zoomies. During these moments, she sprints, leaps, and dashes unpredictably, using her agility to evade attacks or reach safety. However, these high-energy episodes can also create unintended chaos if not controlled.

Maine Coon Form: Suzume’s most striking ability is her transformation into a massive Maine Coon the size of a lion. In this form, she gains immense strength and durability, allowing her to clear debris, shield civilians, and face powerful enemies. Though slightly less agile in this state, her sheer size and power make her a dominant force in combat and rescue situations.

Drawbacks of Her Quirk:

Energy Drain: The more Suzume uses her zoomies or shifts into her larger Maine Coon form, the more physically exhausted she becomes. Prolonged or frequent use of her quirk forces her to pace herself, as overexertion can lead to complete exhaustion or even collapsing mid-mission. When pushed to her limits, Suzume’s fatigue can become overwhelming, and she has been known to fall asleep almost anywhere—whether it’s in a safe corner, atop a high ledge, or even mid-conversation.

Personality:

Suzume’s personality is as unpredictable as a cat’s, constantly shifting between moods with little warning. One moment, she can be affectionate and cuddly, purring contently, while the next she might become flirty or playful. Just as easily, she can turn frustrated or irritated, mirroring a cat’s sudden mood swings. Suzume meows often, a quirky habit she shares with Tsuyu’s “ribbit,” as a natural expression of her cat-like nature. She’s also known to make the soft, focused noises that cats make when they’re “hunting,” adding another layer to her playful, feline-like behavior. She’s prone to getting the zoomies, darting around with bursts of energy, and occasionally acting on impulse, much like a cat following its instincts. Whether she’s seeking attention or simply expressing herself, her actions are full of feline charm and unpredictability.

I redesigned my old oc! I remember being really proud of this design when I first drew her, but now I feel like its a bit unoriginal. So I decided to give her a design update!

Here's Suzume's old design...

And here's the redesign!

I changed the trousers from sweats to shorts with leggings, gave her a crop top, changed the logo on her jacket, changed her hairstyle, the goggles and gave her black boots! Overall I think it's a better design and fits Suzume better than her old one. Her story will be coming soon!

I also changed her hero name from songbird to ace of wings, or ace for short, hence the winged ace of spades as her logo. Also please ignore how one of her hands has no fingers, I was too lazy to draw them on. It's not story relevant or part of her design.

There was no mistaking what – who – she was looking at. Though she had never seen the demon before, she’d memorized every detail of his appearance that Tanjiro shared with her: the pink hair; the yellow eyes branded with Upper Three; the tattoos that covered his entire body. There was no mistaking the monster that stood before her now.

This was the demon that had taken her fiancé away from her.

Suzume felt her heart begin to race, faster than she could ever remember feeling it beat before – but then again, no demon had ever hurt her on such a personal level before, so she felt her rage was justified. She tightened her grip on her sword, forcing herself to remain steady, to not tremble, lest a tremor cause her strike to miss. Though she would have preferred to use her bow against such a strong opponent, he was too close for a ranged weapon to be of much use, and the hashira refused to flee or put more space between herself and the demon; even if she tried, she felt certain she would be quickly overcome and killed.

As if suddenly becoming aware of her presence, the demon turned to face Suzume, a cruel and curious glint in his eye. 

“Who might you be?” he asked, cocking his head slightly. He made no effort to move closer, to try and touch, but she could still feel the weight of his gaze on her. 

“My name,” she said, putting as much steel into her words as she could, “is Suzume. You killed my fiancé.”

“I’ve killed a lot of people,” the demon countered. “I highly doubt your fiancé stood out at all.”

Her vision began to go red around the edges. “He should,” she spat. “He nearly killed you, before you ran like a coward.”

Something flashed in the demon’s eyes then, but she couldn’t tell what. “You were engaged to Kyojuro, hm?” he mused. “He was very brave, and very determined. But it wasn’t enough to beat me. He died, just like everyone else who has ever faced me. Just like you’re going to die. Say hello to him for me.”

The demon moved so quickly Suzume barely had any time to react. Despite being a hashira, her speed was no match for his, and she shrieked in agony as his fist struck her stomach, then passed through her torso as if it were nothing.

A strangled noise forced its way out of Suzume’s throat as she sat bolt upright in bed, trembling and sticky with the cold sweat that had broken out across her skin. She wiped the sweat from her face, then pressed a hand to her stomach. There was, of course, no gaping wound to be found, no blood soaking the fabric of the clothes she wore, because the encounter with the demon had not been real, only a figment of her imagination.

She let out a soft breath as her mind caught up to reality, and she was able to relax the tiniest bit. Her hand drifted a bit lower, and rubbed small circles above where she now knew her child – Kyojuro’s child – was growing. 

Turning slightly, the brunette gazed down at where her fiancé laid, still sound asleep and recovering from the injuries he had sustained in his fight against Akaza – the demon she had met in her sleep – mere days before. Seeing him beside her, watching his chest slowly rising and falling with each breath, made the tension melt from Suzume’s frame, and she was quickly consumed by exhaustion once again. Carefully, she maneuvered to lay back down beside him, making every effort not to disturb him or cause him any pain in his sleep. 

As she laid her head back down on her own pillow, the hashira let out a soft sigh. She got as comfortable as she could manage, being somewhat cramped since she was sharing with her finacé. She froze when Kyojuro stirred in his sleep, but he simply turned his head, his lips brushing against her hairline, and instantly settled back down, still deep in sleep. 

A smile tugged at her lips at the movement, and she all but melted into the bed beside him. Her encounter with the demon had been nothing but a dream – a terrible one, but a dream nonetheless. She and Kyojuro were both still alive, they were still together, and were still going to get married; they were still going to spend the rest of their lives together, and welcome their child into the world together. It was more than many other slayers could ever hope for, and for that, she was eternally grateful. Sleep was quick to welcome her back, and this time her dreams were filled with smiles and laughter and the sound of little feet running through their home.
