Squish: The slug chirped inquisitively and cocked her head. She looked confused, if such a thing were possible for a slug.

Avidra: "That's a dangerous question to be asking... If I were you, I'd be careful who you ask it to." They don't even look up as they say it, merely continue picking their fingernails with a knife. "You wouldn't want to end up like our dear Lord Kelton, would you?"

pistol: which character has your favorite introduction?

Oof, this is hard. Partly because for so many WIPs I haven't decided how the characters will be introduced. But I might have to go with Squish from CoS. She's in some kind of dangerous situation, and Ash and Dorian are being chased, and Dorian is just like "Grab the slug!" and Ashlin actually does?? They don't even know why they did it. She thought maybe Squish was important or magical? But nope, just a very clingy slug that imprints on Ash immediately, haha.

dagger: does the story have any motifs?

ATQH has a recurring symbol/motif of roses, as well as the color red showing up in very important scenes. High Fantasy WIP has a raven motif, relating back to the narrator being a soul collector for the death goddess who takes the form of a raven.
