Ahhhh I am so here for all of your WIPs, and now I must know more about “Rebecca Stark the Wolf King” if you want to talk about it!

WIP Ask Game

(The main file in this is called 'Robb Stark Now Has a Vagina' just FYI)

There's so many files in my folder that have been languishing for YEARS that I've deleted out so many, and saved a few that I feel very partial to!

So Rebecca Stark was my genderbent Robb Stark AU from.... a decade ago? (yeah this is 2013). She was marrying one of the Royces, Robert Baratheon was being a little weird. I had Kristen Stewart a'la Snow White as the face claim because it fit SO WELL and I made some amazing photoshop art for it (and my first time giffing! and I still have those on my desktop).

Here's a snippet behind the cut!

Father had ventured in his slightly awkward way he had whenever he was forced to remember that his oldest, his ‘Bex’, was in fact a woman. He had simply asked what she had thought of Prince Joffrey.

Rebecca did not care for falsehoods but she understood dangerous grounds. So she had answered carefully that she couldn’t actually say whether or not she cared for him as she didn’t know him. 

“There you are.”

She glanced up to see her mother coming toward her and she spared her a smile. “Are you sisters taken-- Rebecca! Why isn’t he outside?”

Grey Wind looked up at Catelyn curiously, a whine in the back of his throat and Rebecca shrugged. “It felt safer with him.”

“Safer? That wolf needs to get outside, Rebecca. I told you.” 

Rebecca sucked in her lower lip and thought of how in the torchlight the lines on her mother’s face look deeper and more abundant.  There is the slightest wisp of silver at her crown and how queenly her mother looks compared to Cersei Lannister. “It’s not like we’re hosting Lord Bolton and his flayed banners.” She wanted to tell her the truth -- that the King makes her uncomfortable. That the Queen’s eyes pierced her back every time she walked past and there’s nothing she could do about it except hide and it isn’t an option.

Her mother’s hand was warm as it slid across her shoulders, her arm a gentle and comforting weight as Catelyn led them into Rebecca’s bedroom, sitting her down at the dressing table. Rebecca looked at their reflections as she watched her mother reach for the comb to work on binding back her thick, dark hair. The sensation of her mother’s nails against her scalp soothed her and Grew Wind pads to the fireplace and curls up on the rug behind them.

Sometimes if Rebecca looked hard enough she could see the similarities in them. The reddish hue to her dark locks had faded over time but their eyes are the same pale green. The same nose, the same Tully jaw. Rebecca remembered sitting in front of the mirror as a child trying to mimic her mother’s stern looks in a way to get her siblings to listen to her.

“Smile more, Rebecca. A lady should always smile.”

Most of Catelyn’s lines were from her warm smiles. The dimples in her cheeks were evidence of that, the little wrinkles in the corners of her eyes and yet that is where her Stark rears it’s head again. Stern dourness that makes the Stark so sullen.

Queen Cersei looks dour, she thought. Starks look reticent. Serious. Regla rulers of the North.

A Daughter's Dream

Rebecca Ferguson as Cecily Lannister (née Florent)

As sister of the late Alyrie Hightower (née Florent), Cecily comes to the Red Keep after Queen Alicent Hightower dies giving birth to a stillbirth boy. Alicent is survived by one daughter Naerys, who Cecily feels Otto is not a sufficient grandfather to. As the wife of Lord Gerold Lannister, the Warden of the West, many question why she opts to spend her days as a glorified Septa, taking care of her orphaned grandniece.

Lea Seydoux as Naerys Targaryen

Naerys is the only surviving daughter of Queen Alicent Hightower, the second wife of Viserys II Targaryen. She is a quiet girl, at times off-putting. She is interested in stories of the First Men and the arrival of the Andals, ignoring the study of her Targaryen heritage. She often abandons her ladies-in-waiting for the company of her aunt, Cecily, her young maid, Elyse, and her sworn sword, Ser Damon Waters. Barely six and ten, she has been betrothed to Cregan Stark, the widow.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Gerold Lannister

The oldest son of the late Tybolt and Ceira Lannister, he is the current ruling Warden of the West. He chooses to stay in the Casterly Rock, with many members of his family serving the Targaryens, and their whims. He is not as clever nor as cunning as his lady wife. He believes her ambitions, while valuable, should be instead placed within furthering their children, Tybolt and Ceressa Lannister, in the court of Princess Rhaenyra.

Many joke of the Targaryen sisters and their dark-haired sworn swords. Naerys, contrary to this joke however, is far more concerned with her Andal tales and odd porcelain trinkets then men.

Bucky x GN!Reader

Description: three instances of Bucky associating someone stroking his hair with comfort.

Warnings: fluff and angst, mentions of illness, period-accurate toxic masculinity, mentions of nightmares, no y/n used, only pronoun used is "you"

A/N: this is based on something I wrote for my self indulgent self-insert OC Juniper, where Bucky tells them the story of the first two memories and then decided I wanted to also do an x Reader with a similar idea.

1930

One time, when Bucky was young, he was hit with an awful bout of illness. He felt like there was a hundred pound weight on his chest, and he couldn’t stop coughing. Steve kept trying to sneak in to go see his friend, but would be shooed away before he could actually see his friend. Rebecca, Bucky’s little sister, would slip notes from her and Steve under his door as often as she could, trying to remind him he wasn’t alone. One night, when his sickness got real bad, his mother came in to sit up with him. Since it was the Depression, she would be up pretty much every night working on sewing alterations until her fingers cramped and bled. But tonight, she was staying with her Baby Boy. She rubs Vick’s on his chest in hopes of soothing the cough, and sits by his bedside. When Bucky’s coughing gets so bad that he can’t fall asleep, she sits on the mattress next to him, running their fingers through his hair until he falls asleep. She saw how much it soothed him, and from then on whenever he was sick she would stay with him, running her fingers through her son’s hair to calm him. 

1942

Bucky was an adult now, dressed in a soldier’s uniform and trying to pretend he was proud of that. He’d just gotten home from the Stark Expo, and found that his mother and sister had stayed up to wait for him. Rebecca hugs her brother goodbye before heading to bed, but Bucky and Winnefred stay up late talking. During the conversation everything hits him at once. He’d spent the entire day forcing a smile and pretending to be brave, being strong in front of his date, of Steve, of anyone who saw him and saw a young man ready to take on the world and fight for his country. 

When in reality?

 He’s been terrified ever since he learned he was drafted. 

He broke down in front of his mother, telling her that he’s not ready, that he’s scared, and that he hates that he’s scared. That he’s a coward. But his mother shakes her head, and hugs her son tight. She doesn’t tell him to “man up” or that he needs to “get ahold of himself”, just held him and assured him that it’s okay, that he’s not a coward, that he’s not weak for being afraid. She took him back to his bedroom, getting him settled under the covers and sitting at his bedside, stroking his hair the same way she did when he was young. 

“Rest now, James,” she whispered, brushing his hair out of his eyes, “you don’t have to be strong tonight…” 

Now

Bucky woke up screaming, drenched in sweat. He tried to take deep breaths, to calm himself down, but the nightmares that had forced him awake still ravaged his subconscious. 

“Bucky?” He whipped around to see you, eyes tired but still filled with concern, “are you alright, Baby?” 

“Yeah,” he gasped out, running a hand through his hair, “yeah, yeah, I'm…I-I’m…” 

“Oh,” you cooed, wrapping your arms around him and laying your head on his back, “oh Sweetheart…” 

You hugged him close, and pressed a kiss to his shoulder. 

“Can you feel my breath?” You asked, running your fingers along his stomach. Bucky nodded, “good, Buck. Can you follow my breathing?” 

He matched your breaths as best he can, and you held him until he calmed down. Once his breathing evened out, you pressed another kiss to the crook of his neck and smiled softly. 

“What do you need to feel better, Sweet Boy?” You asked, “what do you need to go back to sleep?” 

Bucky chewed his lip for a moment, trying to decide. His mind drifted to his youth, to his mother carding her fingers through his hair and the feeling of serenity it brought him. 

“M-my hair,” he murmured. You looked confused, “will you stroke my hair for a bit?” 

He didn't give you a chance to respond. 

“Sorry,” Bucky's blue eyes wouldn't meet theirs, “that sounds stupid, but my Ma used to do it when I was younger but–” 

“Shhhh,” you slid in front of him, “it's not stupid. Of course I'll stroke your hair.” 

His blue eyes met yours, relief flooding his gaze. 

“Lay back down, Sweetheart,” he settled himself on top of you, laying his head on your chest and listening to your heartbeat. You cradled his head against your body, running your fingers through his dark hair. His eyes were already starting to feel heavy, and he nuzzled into your neck, a little hum escaping him.

“Get some rest, Bucky,” you pressed a kiss to the top of his head as he started to give in to sleep, “I love you.” 

The same feeling of serenity overtook him, and Bucky drifted off in his partner's arms.

Hi! I'm Jeebies (32, cisfem, queer, EST, been roleplaying for 20+ years) and I am a writer and moderator on Denouement, an 18+ pan/multifandom roleplaying site that's been going strong for over two years. We have a Jcink hub for apps, lore, and basic info, but most of the writing/RP takes place via real time chats (utilizing Tupper), post-by-post threads, and comm threads on Discord. We also use Cbox for RP, particularly for real time group RP. What makes Denouement unique is the sheer variety of fandoms/muses represented -- anime/manga, live action tv & movies, novels & comics, musicals & podcasts. It's truly a panfandom experience -- not leaning towards one genre or medium or another. We welcome the most niche fandom characters as well as fandomless original characters. Our members love sharing their OCs and hyping up others' as well. Below, I've written a few detailed blurbs for characters I'd really like to write against. The character wanted is in bold, and I write the character in italics.

Rebecca Welton for Ted Lasso (platonic or romantic)

I took Ted from the end of S3, leaving for Kansas City. Writing him against a Rebecca from S1 who is still bitter and an emotional mess could be a lot of fun; Ted would be able to use his therapy techniques and improved emotional intelligence to help her adjust. Talk about a reversal of which fish is out of which body of water! I think being stranded together, desperately clinging to one another for sanity and security, could be the spark of potential that leads to a slow burn Tedbecca relationship -- though I am absolutely cool with keeping them platonic/unrequited if that's not your speed.

Dean Winchester for Castiel (platonic, ideally romantic)

My Cas is from the end of S5, and I have also put him on the Summer Path, meaning he has all of his angelic powers but no memory of who or what he is. So far, he's been working as a humble gardener and beekeeper, interacting with other non-humans to try and figure out who he might be. Having Dean show up and try to help him remember things would help reshape Cas back into the being he's meant to be. And maybe they kiss a little along the way?? Plus, Denouement's got a whole lot of baddies to gank!

Tony Stark for Peter Parker (familial/platonic)

My Peter is from the end of No Way Home, so he arrived in Denouement under the impression no one would know or remember him, with both of his closest parental figures gone. He has MJ, a beacon in the darkness, but he's struggling to decide if he needs to give up being Spider-Man for good, lest he destroy this new world the way he nearly destroyed his own. Having his mentor back to help him find his way would be so great for his development. Also, if you pick up Tony, there's already a Stark Industries waiting for him to play with (and I also write Steve Rogers which could make for some draaaaaamaaaa). Plus, we have a whole cast of Marvel chars to write with.

Leonard 'Bones' McCoy for James T. Kirk (platonic)

I pulled Jim from the end of STID, so I am looking more specifically for an AOS Bones to write against, but also happy to write against TOS Bones if that's your vibe! Jim needs his bestie, and no world will ever test Bones' patience like Denouement; there are so many strange and hazardous situations that need a doctor. We have an AOS Spock, a DIS-era Pike, and a few other Star Trek OCs to write with as well!

Sister Rebecca was a severe woman with piercing eyes set in a hollowed face. Her mouth was carved into a permanent line, oftentimes broken only by an elegant silver cigarette holder. Now in the sunlight her eyes were concealed behind spectacles, two flashing moons of icy light. Her cowl and horn-like wimple pulled her further from humanity, forming her into a large immovable pillar of stark black and white. For several years she had been the private tutor of the children living on the Ministry grounds, not to mention his brother Secondo’s domineering mother.

Sister Rebecca (1920-1998)

Sister Rebecca was the daughter of a rising star politician who had a long standing relationship with the Satanic Church of the Void. The family was involved somewhat with illicit mob activity during the 20s and 30s.

Rebecca was a consummate scholar. Her favorite subject was languages and at the time of her death she was fluent in six different languages (Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Latin and Portuguese). As a teen and young woman she was a socialite who actually used her influence to support public school education. She was a severe woman but valued her formal education and teachers. She went to school for education herself, with big plans to be a Superintendent some day. In 1944 There was a massive bust of her family’s business dealings and tax evasion by the FBI. At the last second the Satanic Church of the Void offered to hide her and her mother to avoid arrest. Unfortunately her father and his goons were sent to Alcatraz for their crimes after much public shaming and fanfare. Rebecca enjoyed her stay at the Ministry so much she formally joined the Church as a Sister of Sin in 1945.

She met Nihil when he joined up with the church in 1950. Her role in the church was outreach due to her extensive knowledge of languages and travel, and so she helped assemble tours for a few Papa Emeritus figures, working as their tour manager. She was effective and pretty ruthless. She got to know Nihil when he was a roadie and backup musician during one of those tours. She saw the potential in him as a future Papa Emeritus and groomed him to stardom.

She developed a physical relationship with Nihil in 1958, prompting the heartbroken Sister Nance to leave the Ministry for good. In 1960 Mother Imperator died of old age. Rebecca was the obvious choice for successor, but in a dark twist of fate she found she was pregnant and therefore could not safely undergo the ritual without killing the child. Her pregnancy with Secondo was a total surprise, assuming she was too old at 41.

She took to motherhood well, enjoying raising her son to be a perfect gentleman and representative of the Church, unlike his father. She discovered Secondo to be a brilliant child who was a piano prodigy and worked to build her son’s career as a performer. She had wanted Secondo to be Papa Emeritus since the boy was seven.

Rebecca nearly killed Nihil when Terzo showed up on the Ministry front steps in 1969, his unknown lovechild from Italy. She was forced to take care of him since he only spoke Italian and she was fluent. She taught Terzo English and raised him somewhat but she was alway cold to him.

She retired from touring once she fell pregnant with Nihil’s child, becoming a schoolteacher for the ministry children. She was a school teacher up until her death in 1998.

RULE ONE/OOC INFORMATION Hi, my name is Kel, I'm over 21+ and use the pronouns she/her. Time zone is GMT.For now, my blog will run on a queue as I'm busy with some real life stuff.
