Hi Nonny! For Miss Caliope:

Gen 1: Where can your Tav be recruited?

I'm going to say she'd be at Waukeen's Rest. Caliope is a Noble-born Sorcerer, so she'd likely have sought out what seemed to be the most well-to-do establishment in the area - before the Drow attack.

Likely she was in one of the extra rooms resting and planning when the Inn was attacked, never really aware that Duke Ravengard had been there.

She'd be recruitable after getting Florrick out of the burning Inn, seen helping to put the flames out. It might take some convincing, some smooth talking, but in the end she'll accept help.

Story 15: How do they react when the Dark Urge first reveals their amnesia and murderous thoughts to them?

Caliope has a sharp tongue and isn't afraid to be rude or sarcastic, so she wouldn't hesitate to say how unsettling she finds the murderous thoughts and to keep away from her at night. She'd be curious about the amnesia, though, and if it could be cured.

Romance 1: Is your Tav a romanceable character? Are there any specific requirements to romancing them?

I'd say yes, she's romanceable! And as much as she likes to portray a well-put-together and sharp front, she gets very easily flustered when flirted with. Like, insanely flustered, to the point of being tongue tied and excusing herself from conversations.

Specific requirements would probably be making sure to talk to her frequently, giving her nice armor and weapons (I know gifting isn't a mechanic in BG3, but still), and generally working toward the aim of getting rid of the tadpoles. No controlling them here.

Hopefully that's at least somewhat interesting! Ty for the ask! ♥

Here they are! Pounce and Luna’s kittens, Percival and Viviana. They usually go by Percy and Vivi. Percy is the older twin by a minute.

Personalities:

Percy: Percy is a very curious, palyful and mischievous kitten much like his father. He loves folowing the older kittens and toms around, sometimes to learn and other times to mess with them. He know there’s a time to be serious but sometimes has trouble being serious in thos times but he’s learning. Though he can be a bit of a rascal, he’s caring and kind like him mama. He acknowledges he’s not the smartest but that’s why he asks lots of questions(sometimes too many) but overall brings a playful and happy vibe to the junkyard.

Vivi: Like her twin, Vivi is a playful and curious kitten but is more reserved and polite than her brother. She’s as sweet and kind as her mother but has a bit of silliness from her dad. She loves making friends and does her best to make sure Percy doesn’t get hurt or in trouble(sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t). She loves hanging out with the other kittens and hearing stories from the older cats, especially from the Queens or Old Deuteronomy. Vivi is one of the more quieter kittens in the tribe(though not as shy as others more soft spoken) and helps keep the balance between rambunctious kittens like her twin brother.

Percy: Percy is a tabby and cream kitten whith brown and gold patches. His stripes are black and he has a patch identical to his father’s over his left eyes that is black. He has green eyes, freckles, and a black nose.

Vivi: Vivi is a tabby and white/silver kitten with light brown and black patches. Her stripes are gold except for her ine thick back stripe on her left side. She has amber eyes, freckles, and a brown nose.

Vivi’a best friend is Alonzo and Cassandra’s daughter, Seraphina(or Sera).

Random:

Much like their mother, They were born/created i.e. being just their names on April 30, 2017.

I also finalized their pelts, colors, i fo, etc. in 2024.

I had no other names planned for them.

While Percy likes spending time with his dad to leadn flips and other acrobatics, he is much more of a mama’s tom and Vivi is much more of a daddy’s queen.

Percy is the older twin by a minute.

The are the middle kittens(not the oldest kittens in the tribe but also not the youngest).

Munk sometimes accidentally calls Percy “Pounce” (usually when he’s in trouble) because he acts like his father did when he was a kitten.

Vivi looks up to Victoria and Jemima the most to teach her about dancing and singing.

Air Pollution and Policy in Shanghai

       On April 11th, my mother sent me a photo of the sandstorm hit in Yanzhou, Shandong, China, as she was on her business trip. The photo reminded me of the days 10 years ago in Shanghai, my hometown. Back in 2013, the light rail station three kilometers away from my home was often covered in haze on regular days. Stringent multiregional air pollution control strategies have been implemented in the recent decade in Shanghai. According to the data from Statista, the annual average PM2.5 air pollution levels in Shanghai have decreased from 59.86 ug/m3 air in 2013 to 26.52 ug/m3 air in 2022. Despite huge improvement, air pollution still remains a huge problem in Shanghai, as annual average PM2.5 pollution levels of 26.52 μg/m3 air is still much higher than the standard of 5 μg/m3 established by WHO. Nonetheless, the policy implemented so far in Shanghai has been proved effective.

       Shanghai is a typical representative of developed coastal cities that heavily relies on import and export trade. Ship emissions could contribute 10 to 30% of PM2.5 within 10 km of the coastal and riverine port area. The seaside wind in summer monsoon season carries the pollution further into the central area in Shanghai. To address the issue, Shanghai has adopted the Emission Control Area (ECA) policy to reduce ambient SO2 and particle components. Strict ship diesel emissions standards are included in the ECAs. Ships in ECAs are required to replace high sulfur oil with light oil that contains sulfur content less than or equal to 0.5%. The ECAs have been proven effective. The SO2 concentration in Shanghai decreased by at least 0.229 μg/m3 daily on average due to the ECA policy implementation. From 2015 to 2017, the average 3-month SO2 concentrations decreased by 27% to 55% in both port sites and urban sites in Shanghai, with the highest decrease of 55% in Gaoqiao site (port site), which is influenced by heavy ship traffic activity.

       However, there are downsides of ECAs. First, although SO2 and PM2.5 emissions decreased effectively in ECAs, NOx emissions that primarily depends on engine temperature and combustion cycle did not. In addition, OC components in ship-emitted particles increased as some organics like toluene from low sulfur heavy fuel oil were much higher than those from high sulfur heavy fuel oil.

       The ECAs are still being implemented today, with time, ships will use light oil that has sulfur content below 0.1%. Meanwhile, Shanghai has implemented policy in other aspects and keeps introducing new policy for air pollution control. For example, Shanghai has been expanding clean energy vehicles and all-electric bus. Nowadays, there are much more vehicles with green license plates (electric or hybrid power) than vehicles with blue license plates (traditional fuel). Temporary shut down and penalties for polluting factories have also contributed to air pollution control. Someday, we might breathe the fresh air that meet the WHO standards in large cities like Shanghai.
