Hello, I am a writer on Wattpad and I am trying to think of a story. I do get writer's block so I have old books but I am to lazy to rewrite them. Okay so I have a few ideas but may you use about a minute to vote or even give me suggestions, it would be appreciated! I could also do a cross over.

From OC ask game 3, question 1 for your Harry Potter OCs?

Harry Potter OCs + Why Did I Pick Their Name?

CECILIA "CECILY" MALFOY

The Malfoy family traditionally have first names that have a strong Roman origin (Septimus, Brutus) or are named after constellations (Lucius, Draco).

Cecilia is a name of Latin origin, meaning "blind" or "blind to one's beauty", but can also be found in France which is where Cecilia's father was from.

She is known to go by Cecily though, a nickname I admired because of the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare of which feature a character by the same name.

Cecil is also my late grandfather's name and the masculine version of Cecilia, and I like to pay homage to certain people or facts about my life in my stories.

Overall, Cecilia is a royal, elegant, graceful and dainty name which I feel is fitting for the OC.

ARIEL MCKINNON

Ariel means "Lion of God". The symbol of the lion has been tailored to a majority of this character's identity. I picked it because the name reminds me of the colour red and stubbornness, curtesy of the protagonist from the Little Mermaid. The name also reminds me of fierceness and rebellion, which is two prominent themes to the female lead from Footloose of the same name.

I also picked the name because its foreshadowing of a certain secret about the character that I cannot reveal quite yet but the secret happens to be the biggest influence behind the name,

FUN FACT: I was originally going to name her Roxanne.

BETHANY MEADOWES

Bethany is quite a mundane name compared to the names of the other OCs but this was on purpose. Initially named Dorothea as a nod to her mother Dorcas, I changed it later because I thought that her character had a more contemporary vibe reminiscent of neon 90s clubbing (hence her creative hair styles and colourful braids) so I changed it to Bethany. Also, there's a KISS song by the same name.

Now if any of your parents happened to make the terrible choice of making you watch Glee with them growing up, you would know the experience of cultivating your taste in music around a show that mostly caters to show choir and the classic rock hits your dad salivates over.

And because I grew up watching Glee, I sadly consider myself a 'Dad who Salivates Over' said hits.

Anyway, there's this plotline in season 1 of Glee where Puck gets Quinn pregnant and they're both conflicted about the baby the later in the pregnancy it gets. Puck decides to whip out his acoustic guitar and sing to Quinn the song "Beth" by KISS and at the end he says he wants to name the kid Beth.

Now ignoring the deeply problematic origins of this train of thought, but the song "Beth" in the context of the show had a new meaning where it was the father saying he wouldn't be home to see his kid (or something like that).

Going back to Bethany the OC, her father died when she was a baby (during the First Wizarding War) and her mother doesn't talk about him. Bethany's name - and its relation to the KISS song in the Glee context - is a nod to what happened to him.

SAPPHIRE ETOILE

I mentioned that I usually name OCs after people or places in my life to pay homage to them. Sapphire is not as major as a nod to a relative but just a girl I remember growing up with and I thought her name was the coolest name EVER - so much so that it made me hate my own name for a bit there.

Anyway, I thought, "With a name like that, she's gotta have the eyes" because I once met ANOTHER girl with eyes that were a really vibrant blue and were darker than any I've ever seen.

Sapphire's was probably the most shallowest name I came up with but Etoile, her last name, is actually the French word for "Star" I believe and I just liked the sound of the name rolling off my tongue so I kept it.

Harry Potter OCs: What Do People Notice First?

Cecilia "Cecily" Malfoy

Cecily has a very unnatural appearance, even by wizarding standards. She shares the white-blonde hair of the Malfoy family, with porcelain skin that shimmers in both candle light and camera light. Her eyes are not the silver grey of her cousin Draco but rather, a silvery blue of melted snow.

However, it is her bone structure with its sharp symmetry that captures people's attention. She looks like a statue come to life, animated perfection - as Rita Skeeter put it.

This superficial beauty allowed the misconception that she was no more than just a pretty face and Cecily liked to take advantage of that from time to time, finding that a pearly white smile here and a subtle incline of her head there could distract people long enough for her to get away with anything - even stealing your heart.

Ariel McKinnon

Ariel would not describe herself as pretty or lovely. Nothing so soft or inherently feminine as that, but rather fierce and fearsome. Something to behold when she stormed past like a woman on a mission, looking the world like nothing could stop her in her path. Some say that she looked the spitting image of her late mother, Marlene and that was enough to make people do a double take.

However, the first thing you would notice about her would not be the unruly tangle of blonde curls that looked as if gold was spun, or the natural healthy tan glow of her skin despite the gloomy weather.

It was her expression, the pursed full lips painted fire engine red, the indomitable arch of her brow and the flames that burned in her eyes with a passion for any emotion she felt at that one moment, made abruptly and obviously apparent to any and all her saw her.

Bethany Meadowes

Bethany radiates goodness and creativity, a colourful personality in the hallways of Hogwarts. It is only natural that her appearance enhances the unique experience of meeting her, from her glittering golden eyes to her smile that curved up in a way that gave others the strangest feeling of having their secrets known.

However, there was a signature to Bethany's look and that was her hair, which was always in the most elegant, intrinsic hairstyles and usually braided with brightly coloured bits of ribbon, beads and string in purple, green, red and yellow neons.

She looked after her hair, was very attentive to its care and displayed her locks proudly by draping them over her shoulder or letting them halo her head like a crown. She never wore the same style twice in a week. She was very much like a lion in that lone pride that she allowed herself, and she was asked by many of her female peers - even the Slytherins - for help on cultivating their own styles and haircare.

Sapphire Etoile

Sapphire was not known as a jewel for nothing. Ever since she was born, her beauty has been a renown fixture to her name. She made a rather striking figure in Beauxbatons and some whispered that she might possess the blood of a Veela (although these rumours proved false in time).

Her beauty can mostly be credited to her sapphire blue eyes, of which she was named. They were a dark, deep and vibrant blue that was considered so beautiful, it was almost off-putting. Almost.

Most can't hold her stare, as even a fleeting look can cause the breath to catch for even the most charming of folk. She had a way of making others crack under pressure, of making them spill their truths, of coaxing stories and hardships from those usually reserved and cautious.

I hope you don't mind but I will answer this by grouping my OCs in cars together and explaining which roles they will fall into in each car, so I hope that will suffice! 😊🌺

Road Trip

CAR 1 : THE TEENAGE MENACES

Niamh O'Connor is voted the designated driver, after everybody agreed that there was no way in hell Vanessa was getting behind the wheel. Niamh is a steady driver and has the best eye out of them all (ironic considering she only has the one working). She also has the best reflexes.

To appease her, they didn't argue when she cried out shotgun and jumped into the front seat. Everybody was too relieved that they weren't going to die in a flaming car crash or worse, kill someone else on the road.

They can't deny that Vanessa O'Connor has the best taste in music and soon enough, they are all bopping to the early 2000s hits of childhood nostalgia that they all enjoy. She insists on pulling into every single Burger King they come across.

Kindred Blanche will start playing games like 'I Spy' or making up silly names for the towns they pass through, snorting through her nose like it was the funniest thing in the world. She's the one who is most likely to stare at strangers in the cars driving beside them.

Ariel McKinnon is hogging up space on the otherside, her long limbs thrown over the other girls in the backseat as she tries to make herself comfortable. She has her headphones in, blaring her classic rock loud enough to drown out the sounds of Britney. She insists on the AC being cranked up but is one of those people who will wind the windows down so its useless.

Bethany Meadowes is squished into the middle with Ariel's leg sprawled across her lap but she lounges into her seat as if its the comfiest position to be in. She has a content smile on her face as she is hit with the cool air from the AC and the wind. She's the one who has all the snacks on hand and brought her famous chocolate brownies. She might even pass around her joint in the back with Ariel and Kindred, careful to make sure none of it wafts through to the front.

CAR 2: THE INTELLECTUALS

As the two moms of the group (who are literally just in their twenties), Julia Simmons and Persephone Shaw take the front seats with little argument from the 'kids' in the back. While Perri would have preferred to ride her motorcycle, she reluctantly agrees to switch shifts in the driver's seat with Julia. Julia takes sips of her green tea while Perri insists on refilling her coffee at every drive through to 'stay alive'.

Julia Simmons spends her time not driving reading one of the many books she brought along with her while she listens to calming rainforest music and munches on her organic, gluten free snacks that she shares with the girls in the back.

Perri Shaw will try to get shut eye for the most part when she's not driving but she will also turn in her seat to make conversation with Serina Seda, whose adopted parents are heavily involved in the military and political scene. Being an FBI agent, Perri will try to answer as many questions as she can with her limited experience but she is surprised to find that Serina is extremely knowledgeable in the topic and makes an excellent and intriguing conversationalist.

Sometimes, Sylvia of Narnia will chime in, coming from a political family herself, but for the most part, she will sing softly to herself in the backseat until either Perri or Julia coax her into singing louder. Soon enough, Sylvia is singing some of the more popular songs and they have a walking, talking stereo in the back who sings better than the original artists.

Louise Hammond is the quiet one of the bunch, preferring to lean her head against the window and look at the road whirring by while she daydreams. Maybe when some of the others coax her to talk, Lou will ask Sylvia to sing some songs from the 60/70s because it reminds her of home.

CAR 3: THE JOYRIDE HELL RIDE

Kylie Pryce is the designated driver. She's the second oldest but Indy has too much road rage to be trusted behind the wheel. They all know she is not above playing bumper cars on the highway. Kylie is the one who was extra prepped for the road trip with extra fuel in the trunk, first aid kit, snacks and essentials in case they break down.

Adelaide Paige is in the front passenger seat. She spends most of her time texting Angelo to complain about the back seat drivers. She's the one leaning over to tell Indy to shut up when she gets too rowdy.

Farren Emerson spends most of the trip leaning between the two front seats with a map insisting the GPS is wrong and trying to tell Kylie which turns to take. She spends the rest of the time in the back seat smirking and trying to provoke Indianna Taylor, who takes everything as a challenge and starts getting violent.

Meanwhile, while all this chaos has been going on, Carina Gunner has been squished against the car door while Indy roughhouses behind her. Carina has her headphones in, but it does nothing to drown out the elbows in her side. She is ten seconds away from going off.

CAR 4: THE COOL KIDS

They're rich kids so you better believe that they're driving around in a convertible. Sapphire Etoile is the designated driver because she is a quick learner and the second most responsible in the car.

Lucinda Lestrange is the most responsible but she was raised in a wealthy equestrian family that lives in a country manor, so they rode horses everywhere. It takes sometime to even get her into the car. She's in the backseat and is in charge of snacks because she's lowkey the mom friend and knows what everyone likes. You can bet that she looks like that mysterious girl™ that boy's see on the drive by and wish they knew her secrets.

Angelo Reid takes the front passenger seat and spends most of the ride texting Adelaide Paige to try to get her to convince Kylie Pryce to race them down the highway. He reads her very pissed off responses out loud to the rest of the car and they all laugh.

Cecilia Malfoy has the signature white hair scarf and huge, glamorous sunglasses combo. She's in charge of the music because she can read the vibes of the trip so well and knows the perfect song to go with it. She's probably taking selfies with Rivin (unwilling) and Lucinda (willing) in the back seat.

Rivin Nox would spend most of the drive leaning against the side door in a very not-safe position, has his legs up between the front seats. Wears all black with the wind ruffling his black curls and as sunglasses on, earphones in and is trying to fall asleep to world politics podcast. They drive past the car Serina Seda is in and she almost has a heart attack when she sees him. He would lower his sunglasses just to wink at her despite the fact that their families hate each other.
