Happy Birthday, Anne-Marie Jekyll! A Day Gone By…

Today, on October 3rd, is the day of Anne-Marie Jekyll’s birthday! So says the OC Birthday quiz, where it has made her a Libra. I also enjoyed the idea of her birth month including her favorite holiday — Halloween— so October 3rd is what I went with.

But yeah, Happy Birthday to Anne-Marie! …Even though she doesn’t realize today is her birthday.

I went back and forth on whether or not Anne-Marie should know her actual birthday — like would her mother kept it to herself or say it in a spiteful way? — but in the end, I decided to have her not know. Because of angst.

So for her, October 3rd is just another day for her. Through the past and the current day, it’s just a day. A day that she doesn’t know the significance of.

But don’t worry, she still celebrates her adoption day with Jekyll. For her, that’s a birthday.

You heard me hark about Anne-Marie’s design enough times, and while I still want to, I’m gonna talk about Lanyon cause I saw the sketch process.

But holy cow, he turned out amazing! Love how you got the whole reversal of colors between him and Elias. Also, his suit? His suit is amazing? His hair? That added bun in the back? Even my aroace eyes can see why Jekyll continues to pin after this man 🤣

Now onto Anne-Marie, I love how much you make her outfit stand out, even though Hastie is right there. She’s like a little nutcracker! Also can’t wait to see who she’s going to stab with her cane 🤣

hang on i got u. im super normal about my oc so i have a lil support lineup of his go-tos

these guys + gorgon, vort, jekyll, and dantes are like. the squad. they do not get along in the slightest but they all care about dumbass and that's what matters. most of these are predictable story-based attachments, but david and salome notably go with him. everywhere. most notably in olympus david handed dumbass his lil staff and went "get his ass" abt kirsch. thanks grandpa

with dumbass' relationships w his servants some of them are like, complicated. it was hard for him to go from being in the same age group as eli and salome to suddenly being a whole adult while they're still teenagers. they're still best friends but that made it set in a little quick that, well, he's alive and they're not. this isn't going to last forever. david and casgil he tends to go to for advice or emotional support and only one of those was a good idea. serenity was his first crush that he eventually got over. anne & mary are his gay aunts, etc etc. the odd one out is salieri who dumbass summoned more recently and was like "this one. this one's my babygirl." with like very little to prompt it

quite a few of his servants could tell something was wrong with him from the beginning, but like, not like they could do anything about it.

as for staff servants dumbass is scared of castervinci and by that i mean genuinely and not in the funny haha she's scary bc she's smart and loud way. he also isn't fond of holmes. he likes nemo and ridervinci though they're his buddies

An idea that wouldn’t leave me alone since March and/or April, now it’s finally released just in time for Father’s Day! Seriously, when I was developing Anne-Marie and reading through the comic, this song and this scene was in my head and would not go away. Yes, mind, I am well-aware that giving Henry Jekyll a daughter during the hallucination attacks will be absolutely gut-wrenching, I’ll get to it eventually!

What a wonderful thing for Father’s Day, am I right?

In all seriousness, for much as Hyde is a little jerk during the hallucination arc, letting the hallucinations do anything to Anne-Marie was a line he wouldn’t dare cross. He could barely look at her without her glasses, after all.

Not going to lie, I did the Anne-Marie section first because I was used to drawing her at this point and I did the other two with Henry last because I wasn’t used to drawing him yet. So much references, you guys. So much references 😵

I know you don't like spoiler, but i must ask, Any plans for Anishka/Raikou or Anishka/any member of the sakura five (You did say she was partaking in the BB one)? I ask cause i really want to see her pair with a female servant already (You gave us five heteral pairing Mash/Gudao, Mata Hari/Arash, Mordred/Jekyll, Sita/Rama (Last one debatable i admit) and your oc with Fran.

Those aren’t the only confirmed couples in the series. You actually missed a fair number, including Anne & Mary (who will be talked about more in Season 4). Last time I checked, I think the TVtropes page did a great job of listing all of them.

The current fact she’s still in the closet aside, there are tentative relationship plans for her. It’s a branching option so to speak, where I’m trying to determine which one will hold the most development and potential in the long run. Raikou and some of the Sakura Five are in the possibilities list, though I won’t say where they sit on the viability ladder.

Okay, I have taken a few deep breaths. Onto my rambling on the attack!

Oh my gosh, her little outfit! I love how you took my simplified shapes and translated them into something that would show how she would wear it. I hope that makes sense 🤣. Also, her cane! Her ribbon! I’m just so in love with this artstyle!

Also, absolutely love this color palette you showed! I love how it’s able to match with Anne-Marie’s actual color palette but also showcase the spooky atmosphere she’s in! And of course she has a big ole smile, she loves the macabre!

I did spent a good minute trying to figure out what’s also in the room with her. I definitely see the ghosts and is that one of Mr Bird’s more creepy plants? Also, love that you have the warm light come from the automation bugs as nice contrast!

I love this! I love this! …But I hope you realize you’re on my list now 😈

Oh man, poor Edward not understanding what having a kid entails 🤣 I now imagine the Hyde-Hunting 2.0. Now has its own motif when he hears it, Edward knows he’s in danger! And Hyde, the resident expert of Hyde-Hunting, just leading her away from the traumatized Edward! 🤣

And awww… I love how you put in the little moments of how Jekyll and Edward treat Anne-Marie when she’s around. Like, Edward trying to prove how much of a jerk he is but he refuses to a spoil a book for her! And the fact he teaches her about the Street Smarts of the Music world? Just AHHH! And no, it’s not cliche, it was the literal baseline I had for TGS Hyde’s interactions with her

I like to think the only time Edward and Hyde are in agreement is when they both threaten the Murderer to stay away from her 🤣
