Aster™ Terror Star! (Ukagaka/Desktop Buddy)

On a random browsing session, you come across a name you've only heard offhandedly mentioned by some tech nerds: Aster Assistant Software. A download of a software announced and swiftly forgotten, just freely available in a distant corner of the internet. Thinking you may have found a piece of history, you quickly download it to see what that's all about. What you got instead, was an AI that seemingly never shuts up.

It's done! Continuation of Aster™️Assistant Software, though doesn't require you play it whatsoever. As most ukagakas, requires SSP to run. Link includes an explanation as to what those are and installation instructions.

Based on the Simplicity template by Zichqec. Using SSP on Windows is recommended.

Content warnings:

⚠️ Unreality: No 4th wall, meta themes.

⚠️ Photosensitivity: Character often vibrates in place, and has glitchy effects involving minor flashing lights. You will be asked whether you prefer these on or off.

Features:

A lot of yapping! Said yapping can be adjusted to be less or more frequent;

Longer yapping, giving a bit of insight into Aster's journey;

A little bit of insight on the digital world from the perspective of a living software*;

Capacity to be bothered, just a little bit;

Basic display of file and folder properties, with a little bit of information about some common file formats;

Basic sound playback, if you need to check a file in a jiffy;

May converse with a certain past iteration of itself (Make sure it's on latest version!);

For accessibility: you can reduce glitching effects to remove flashing lights, and turn of the shaking effect if necessary.

Ramiel Aldebaran / ♂️ / 21 / Unicorn A cheerful and friendly young man. He seems difficult to faze, almost always keeping a sunny disposition, and his favorite things are green flowers and braiding people's hair. Affectionately referred to as "Rammy". Once every 1000 years, a unicorn is born into the world. Because of their natural healing powers they are often hunted after or even killed, but Ramiel was found as a baby and raised within a forest of fae folk, where he's spent his whole life.

starting a new story project, this is the first character for that! i'm calling it "Twins Phantasia". it's a retooling of my writing White Clover Guild but much more free form and full of short stories. i wanna start small instead of going big like i did last time. the basic setting is an old world high fantasy setting inspired by RPGs where monsters are the dominant species instead of humans (what exactly that means i haven't decided yet). with ramiel here i thought it'd be cool to start off with something like a fairy tale. unicorns are pretty important to fantasy as a genre so i thought to start there.

i've also been doing research into what fairies really are and it turns out that what exactly a fairy is much more broad than what we now think of as a 'fairy'. since ramiel lives in a forest of fae folk, it's something i'd love to explore. i haven't really figured out what the fae folk even look like just yet.

The cursed Music Box part 1:

Synopsis: Mulan gets a new ancient cursed artifact. An old music box that was made in the 1900s. She takes it back to the sanctuary with her to add it to her collection. Everyone is uneasy about her collection of haunted things.

Mulan had arrived to the world of the living or earth. She went to go meet one of the bronze saints for a date.

She met Ikki at the train station. As usual he wore a casual outfit that matched his personality. She wore black as usual, black dress, with a black hat, some black sunglasses, some black pantyhose and black knee high high heels boots.

“Nice to see you again Ikkius…..you haven't changed one bit ….. darling.” She flashes him a flirtatious smile.

“It has hasn't it …..usually we don't see each other unless we have-”

“Ssshhh! We're in public silly…..do you want the world to know our secrets?” She says with a firm smile.

“It's not like everyone knows about our semi weird relationship.” Spoke Ikki nonchalant.

She took a sip of her herbal tea. She glares at him with her rose gold eyes through her sunglasses.

“.....Stud, just tell me the real reason you called me here……you don't work this hard to make a date for us this special unless you want something in return. So…..what is it? Are we breaking it off again?” She says in a serious tone.

“Fine……I'll get to the point…….let's break it off again……I need ……more time…….. I'm sorry.” He says with a heavy sigh.

“Okay.” She says nonchalant as she continues to eat her food.

“What? I mean that's it? You're not gonna throw a fit?” He asks a bit taken aback.

“Darling you and I have known each other for quite a while….when have I ever thrown a fit? You and I have a mutual agreement we both want one thing from this relationship…. I don't see a future with you and neither do you…. So why would I cry about something that will never happen? So please stop being silly and stop making it sound like I throw a fit every single time when I don't.” Replied Mulan with an indifferent expression.

Ikki only nodded his head. He took a sip of his drink but he continued to gaze at her intently.

“After this I'm going to that cursed Antique store to add to my collection.” Replied Mulan with a smile on her face.

“Oi…. can't you find something else to collect? One of these days those haunted objects are gonna bite you in the ass Mulan.” Replied Ikki with an arched brow.

“Well you let me worry about that besides I'm a Wiccan remember.” She chuckles softly, smiling bewitchingly at him.

“Oh yeah…..forgot about that.” He spoke quietly to himself.

As soon as they finish eating he tries to hold her hand but she pulls her hand away. “You broke it off today, remember?” replied Mulan indifferently.

“So what……..it doesn't mean we can't have fun still….don't be such a stick in the mud.” Replied Ikki with a sly smirk as he still held her hand. She just rolled her eyes.

They arrive at the haunted antique store. The owner greets Mulan with a gleam in his eyes and then he looks at Ikki and looks at him with disgust.

“So Gus! What do you have for me today?” Replied Mulan enthusiastically.

“I got something new arrivals! The monkey's paw!” Yelled Gus with passion.

“Nah I already have something like that Gus anything else?” Replied Mulan with a smile.

“How about this haunted samurai armor! It was found in Takeda Shingen’s castle!” Replied Gus with even more excitement.

“Hmmm…..tempting….having a warlord like him roam around the sanctuary might scare my saints plus I could talk to him when I'm bored.” Replied Mulan considering her options.

“You talk to the dead?” Asked Ikki surprised. Mulan just nods her head yes.

Suddenly an eerie soft music begins to play. Mulan follows it and she sees an old fashioned 1900s music box playing by itself.

“Hey Gus…..how much for this music box?” Asked Mulan with her face shining with joy right now.

“My little black raven no! Not that one! It comes from a horrible place!” Spoke Gus with dread.

Mulan’s grin widens even more and her eyes sparkle with excitement. She squeals. “I want it!” Mulan squeals ecstatically, jumping up and down.

“Oi! Didn't you hear the guy! He said it came from a horrible place! What if it's something you can't control!” Replied Ikki firmly.

“Hush! I'll be fine.” She says buying the music box and a few of the samurai armors.

Suddenly Milo appears behind her. “Your majesty Empress Mulan! It's time to-Oh god are you seriously bringing all of this back with you? Seriously! More haunted shit! Your majesty please collect something else-”

“Shush!” She flicks Milo’s forehead.

Milo sighs heavily and touches his forehead. He then takes the samurai armors and follows behind her. He then notices Ikki and he sneers at him provocatively.

“You know she doesn't see a future with you….you really suck at being in a relationship. So why don't you just give up and run home to your brother.” Laughs Milo mockingly at Ikki as he walks away with the armors following behind Mulan.

“Yeah and you think she notices you? Keep convincing yourself that you have a chance with her pal…..because she doesn't even spare you a passing glance.” Ikki clapped back with a smirk as he then turned and left the antique store.

“Hey! Milo! Stop lollygagging and get a move on! These things won't get home by themselves! By Gus!” Yelled Mulan at the top of her lungs.

The two soon went through the portal and quickly arrived at the sanctuary. The saints bowed to her but then flinched when they saw her new additions to her haunted and cursed collection.

“Your majesty Empress Mulan! Why do you keep adding more of that dreaded stuff to your collection! Do you know how many times Shaka had to bless this entire place just so all of us could be put at ease! There were many! And now he's not even here. He went on a prayer retreat and we don't know when he's going to come back!” Yelled Aphrodite in annoyance.

“Oh Dite you’ll be fine Sweetie besides when have you ever seen a ghost or entity wandering around the sanctuary. It's all in your head. Now go do something useful like go on a mission or maybe once I get out of my bath you can brush my hair and help me pick out a new outfit.” Replied Mulan with a sneer.

“Alright, fine.” Spoke Aphrodite with an annoyed sigh.

But what no one knew was that things were about to get crazy.
