Bake Cakes Kick Ass

“Étoiles, do you want a slice?” she decided to ask. Étoiles turned to look at her and looked at the cake with barely hidden surprise. “Uhm. Nah, thanks,” he gave her a crooked smile before turning away again. Niki considered burrowing her head in the sand and screaming. (Phil, Niki and Étoiles love both kicking ass and eating cakes. Well, maybe not all of them.) (Also available on Ao3.) (Originally made for @etoiles-week, day 3: food. Based on a Twitter exchange.) (This is an AU where q!Étoiles happens to share a certain trait with cc!Étoiles.)

Niki had never thought dungeons could be so fun.

She wasn’t exactly the best fighter — most of the mob kills ended up going to Phil and Étoiles — but even in a supporting role she felt like she fit right in, the way she never thought she would be able to. Not to mention, she got to hang around the eggs! (Even if she felt a little bit embarrassed about them being better fighters than herself.)

Regardless. They swept through the dungeon in what, according to excited Pomme, was record time — and now they had time to rest and sort the loot. Niki glanced at the crafting table in the corner of the room. She wondered…

Backpacks were really the best — she no longer had to worry about not having the ingredients she might need, ever. Chayanne was more than happy to help her, supplying her with some milk and raspberries, — and only a few minutes later her beautiful berry cake was ready and done.

“Hey guys!” she smiled as she turned to face Étoiles and Phil (who were busy arguing about something with Tallulah), “Snack time!”

Phil’s face lit up the moment he saw the cake, “Aw man, Niki! How the fuck do you always manage to have the best pastries?”

Phil took the cake out of Niki’s hands and got to slicing it. Niki turned to look at Étoiles… who only glanced at the thing before turning to talk to Pomme. Niki frowned and opened her mouth to invite the two to join in, but was interrupted by Étoiles: “Alright, guys, thank you so much, but Pomme and I gotta go.”

“No problem, mate,” Philza replied, his mouth already stuffed. Niki meekly echoed the sentiment and watched the French warp away, feeling only so slightly disappointed.

The Purgatory desert was finally settling down after the fight, and it was finally possible to see further than a meter from you. Niki couldn’t be more grateful for that — going through sand with a giant cake in your arms was much easier when you could see where you stepped.

The Greens were in much better spirits than she anticipated, joking around and babbling about something she couldn’t quite understand. She shouted a “hey there” just before approaching them: “Hey guys.” she smiled from above the cake, “Not sure how welcome it is, but, um– I just wanted to give you something. Kind of like a consolation prize.”

“Oh my God,” Bagi exhaled. “Holy shit.”

The Greens gathered around her, marveling at the cake. Niki allowed herself to bask in attention for a bit before glancing at Étoiles — the person she really wanted to surprise with it.

Much to her dismay, he didn’t look too excited, keeping himself busy checking something in his inventory even as everyone else started taking slices. “Étoiles, do you want a slice?” she decided to ask.

Étoiles turned to look at her and looked at the cake with barely hidden surprise. “Uhm. Nah, thanks,” he gave her a crooked smile before turning away again.

Niki considered burrowing her head in the sand and screaming.

Okay.

She knew what he liked (fish, avocado, avocado toast, chia seeds). She knew (now) that he wasn’t really into the sweet stuff. That was fine — not every pastry had to be tooth-rotting. She could make apple pies. She could make potato pies. She was the genius baker, and she could find something that Étoiles would love sooner or later.

She felt sweat gathering at the back of her neck as she watched her friends gather round Sunny’s birthday table and grab stuff from the plates she and Chayanne had prepared for the occasion. She watched Étoiles completely ignore everything.

“Okay, I am going insane,” she declared and got up from her seat. Chayanne stopped chewing as he watched her walk up to Étoiles and tap him on the shoulder. He turned around. “I can’t live like this anymore.”

“Same, man,” Étoiles replied before blinking and adding, “Wait, what?”

“Do you hate me?”

Étoiles blinked again, “No? Why? Do you think I’m a hateful person?”

“You have literally not eaten anything made by me. Not once.”

Étoiles blinked for the third time and looked behind Niki’s back at the table. He then looked back at her. “These are all high GI.”

It was Niki’s turn to blink. “What?”

“Glycemic index,” Étoiles explained, “Niki, I have diabetes.”

Oh.

Niki suddenly felt very, very stupid. “Oh my God–”

“Do you think I should white rice? Should I eat potato chips?” Étoiles suddenly had a shit-eating grin on his face. “Do you want me to eat poison and die? Is it because you hate me?”

“No, I—” Niki felt laughter bottle up in her throat and she covered her mouth with her hand, “I’m–”

“What are you, Poison-chu? You want me to poison myself?”

“Shut up—”

“Oh, it’s because you hate me—”

Niki finally cracked up, and started laughing, and found her laugh mixed with Étoiles’.

Clanmew Expansion: Fruits

And the way Clan cats classify them.

DISCLAIMER: For this lesson, I will ask everyone to bear with how these words are approximate translations, and not always botanically accurate! This is so there are some cooler words everyone can use for their OC names <3

A Clan cat's definition of FRUIT is, "The objects produced by trees and bushes that are not leaves or flowers." This concept is quite different from the casual English concept of a fruit, which is a category of food! This is because cats are OBLIGATE CARNIVORES, and it's mostly ThunderClan that is able to taste sweetness at all thanks to a genetic mutation (known as Sweetness Tolerance).

So remember! Clan cats do not believe that trees produce "seeds"! Every solid object produced by a tree or a bush, which is not a leaf or flower, is a "fruit" by Clanmew definition.

Fruit (from tree or bush) = Praw

Seed (not from tree or bush) = Hi'i

This means that their definition of fruit includes MANY things, which are then sorted further into 5 categories.

What is a Deathberry?

A nearly exhaustive list of all the berry-producing plants in this region. 26 words!

Here's a little diagram to make this easier!

Acorn = Kong

Any solid object which could be further ground up into a powder. Most praw contain a kong, but all of the praw of oak trees are kong alone. This could be translated in several ways; Acorn, seed, core, pit, kernel, etc.

Many kong are an active poison to Clan cats, and carefully avoided! A poison kong is called a "deathberry," which will be explained more further down.

Nut = Nekboq

Because of how deadly certain 'kong' are, Clan cats believe that nuts exist to keep them safe from accidental poisonings. A good example of this is the plum pit, which is a hard nut to crack, containing a core that can be ground up into potent cyanide.

Any hard, inedible shell around another component of a praw makes it a nut, by Clanmew standards. To a Clan cat, bananas, avocados, and mangoes would be nekboq if they somehow encountered them.

But, of course, those are tropical fruits! Generally, the nekboq they encounter in nature 'make sense' to us. Conkers, plum pits, beechnuts. So on.

Cone = Krriki

The woody objects produced by conifers, of all shapes and sizes.

A pinecone that's opened up, bristly, and has released all of its pollen or kong is called an Urrk. This word is no longer used in names by the modern era because it has become vulgar slang.

Berry = Lepe

This is what humans think of when we say "fruit." It's a fleshy, usually juicy praw that wild animals like to eat. Unlike English, 'berry' refers to any size of sweet fruit, from huge apples all the way down to tiny rowanberries.

ThunderClan has a high concentration of Sweetness Tolerance, a simple gene that's turned their ability to taste sweet back on, and so are the only Clan that has a culinary interest in berries! This is why Clanmew doesn't have the same 'concept' of fruits that we do.

If you were to say, "Wobe," "Crab Apple," you would be referring to the tree. Not the apples. "Wobe lepe" would refer to the berries on the crab apple tree.

Samara = Frass

A sort of "other" category for anything else produced by trees that doesn't fall neatly into the other categories. Catkins on willows, the real winged samaras that maple trees produce, and the fuzzy streaming bits that birch trees make are all "frass" to Clan cats.

What is a Deathberry?

A deathberry, or a Worrpraw is any fruit that can kill through ingestion. There are LOTS of deathberries, though the bright red, widespread yew is the most well known.

The berry of the rowan, Mabrre, is only a deathberry until it's ripe!

BIG OLD LIST OF BERRY-FRUITS

Deathberries are marked in red! Fruits especially valued for eating are marked yellow! Plants with a noteworthy non-culinary use are marked with blue!

Domestic Apple (Malus domestica) = Shobe Not all apple trees are equal. This tree is defined by producing sweet, delicious apples that a ThunderClan cat wants to eat. Nothing else about its foliage is different from a 'Wobe' apple tree.

Wild Apple (Malus sylvestric) = Wobe We might call this a 'crab apple.' Creates fruits much smaller and more bitter than a Shobe tree, but is generally quite hardy and enduring.

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) = Bayab The most common and readily used fruit plant in all the Clan territories, also called 'brambles' in English. This plant is used for TONS of crafting purposes, grows readily, and produces some thorns

Plum (Prunus domestica) = Neob

Damson (Prunus domestica ssp. insititia) = Meob Remarkably similar to a plum, but smaller, longer in shape, with a tangier, 'spicier' flavor. Preferred by ShadowClan; an oddity, as most non-Thunder Clans have no interest in fruits.

Pear (Pyrus communis) = Rrobe

Juniper (Juniperus communis) = Raerrai ShadowClan's BELOVED spice, the closest thing to peppers they have. Sometimes described as bearing "Lepekong" for being an odd mix of Acorn and Berry, its fruit is dried, crushed, and powdered before being used to cook. IMPORTANT: Pregnant cats cannot have juniper spice, as it can cause a miscarriage.

Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) = Reyab Makes one of the most delicious and sought-after fruits, especially in ThunderClan. Resembles a red blackberry.

Elder (Sambucus nigra) = Heegyai Edible when cooked but not delicious, and causes vomiting when eaten too much.

Currant (Ribes rubrum) = Mwayaa BRIGHT RED AND POISONOUS. A DEATHBERRY.

Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) = Lupi A deep blue berry that tastes somewhat like blueberries.

Dewberry (Rubus caesius) = Oopri A big, waxy cousin of the blackberry. Known as a more disappointing version, because it's sour even when ripe.

Gooseberry (Ribes uva-crispa) = Sspele Sometimes called by a longer name, 'Gawsspelepe,' because this berry is so fat it's often used for ThunderClan jams.

Crowberry (Epetrum Nigrum) = Yayirr A WindClan-exclusive berry that isn't usually eaten, because of its acidic taste and tendency to cause headaches. It's used as a rich dye.

Strawberry (Fragaria vesca) = Urryab A hardy bush that produces tiny, bristly, delicious red berries. Notably, this is a wild type that is much smaller and seedier than what humans are used to.

Cherry (Prunus avium) = Obeo A tree that produces gorgeous blossoms and a dark red berry, but must be eaten in moderation and the pit must ALWAYS be removed. Associated with being a strange mix of apple and plum. A cherry to a Clan cat is the size of an apple to a human.

Salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis) = Awlgoo From a contraction of Sun + Bite + Dewberry. A plant introduced and naturalized, Clan cats find this plant IDEAL for treating all types of burns. Especially because Awlgoo is fire-resistant, and easily found after bad wildfires.

Knoutberry (Rubus chamaemorus) = Soob THERE IS NO BERRY MORE BELOVED IN THUNDERCLAN THAN THIS. It grows primarily in marshy, open territory, and was previously quite rare in the ThunderClan Forest territories. In the Lake, there's a big knoutberry patch on the border between Thunder and Shadow, and organizing clean, honorable battles for this patch became a big consideration in diplomacy between Blackstar and Firestar. It is often kept preserved by ThunderClan through the winter, and fed to sick cats as a health booster. Kits and apprentices will occasionally pretend to be sick to be given a taste.

Sloe (Prunus spinosa) = Mweek'ka In English, this is also called Blackthorn. This plant is used most often as camp reinforcement thanks to its huge thorns and thick branches. The fruits are usually disgustingly bitter, but ShadowClan alone has realized that the fruits can be frozen to remove the horrible taste. They use this to their economic advantage, making sloe jam to trade to ThunderClan during the winter when they can't find any fresh fruits.

Yew (Taxus baccata) = Remwr The most notorious deathberry, one of the only plants that can grow in the understorey of non-native trees like the sitka spruce and beech. All parts of a yew, from needle to berry, are deadly poisonous. Poisoning from yew causes heart failure.

Belladonna (Atropa belladonna) = Palimwr Better known by its common name; Deadly Nightshade. Said to grow in the territory of inexperienced and careless Clerics, or sprouts as a warning to mind their skills. Poisoning from belladonna causes neurological damage.

Cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccos) = Ssloop A plant that really likes wet areas. Not particularly delicious or sought-after.

Holly (Ilex aquifolium) = Wask A tree or bush with famously waxy, thorny leaves... and bright red, toxic berries. Like most deathberries, it can be safely eaten by birds, but this tree goes even further by providing birds a place to rest and hide. Clan cats can't hunt in holly.

Lingon (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) = Kroob A hardy berry-producing plant mostly seen in WindClan. Used as a laxative.

Sea-Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) = Remgubu From Yew + Stomach, for its use as a medicine for some stomach and intestinal treatments. Has a similar color to knoutberry, which can result in a disappointing surprise for a young cat who pretends to have stomach issues hoping for a taste of awlgoo

Cotoneaster (Various) = Lepigu From Berry + Bird. Red, bitter berries that attract birds.

Okay, I had a different idea for this precure oc originally, but Now I’ve gone the other way, and What If whole team of green precure?

Very VERY green precure.

Introducing:

Cure Crown (trees) (green & yellow)

Cure Rush (Lush) (Reeds, grasses) (green, dark blue & red-dy brown, but fluffy)

Cure Spring (flowers) (green, rainbow (flowers)

Cure Algae (bright green and blue. Bioluminescence)

Cure Rice (green and white. Snow like)

(Cure names have a secondary, athletic theme)

They are All green cures, with secondary colours.

^^ I am probably going to tweak this design a little, maybe merge with some of my Cure Memory stuff for Cure Crown. But the whole team has this sort of outfit vibe. Deeply green, and very verdant. Lots of flower and leaf details.

Their fairies:

Bark (dog/ ‘wolf’. More like puppy. And secretly sealion)

Beri (berry/bury) (squirrel)

Enemy: Harvest

The forest fairies are escaping to Earth, to avoid an enemy taking over their world: Harvest. Unfortunately, the fairies powers are causing havoc on Earth, making the trees and creatures grow wild and attack people! The Verdant Earth cures need to save and reassure the scared fairies of the Forest kingdom, and work to save their world.

The five fairies are all part of the royal court, and determined to regather the scattered forest fairies. They each generate a Forest tome, and seed notes: The tome is the Verdant Earth cures transformation item, and the seed notes are generated from each forest fairy they save. Each collected seed note expands their power, as well as unlocking their more knowledge of some flora and fauna, and revealing more of what happened to the forest kingdom, scrap by scrap.

Minori: Cure Crown. First meets Dewdrop when she walks outside to find the tree in their garden has magically grown in the space of a few minutes (she walks into it). She spots Dewdrop, gives chase thinking it’s a Tanuki, and inadvertently learns she can talk when Dewdrop insists she’s neither a Tanuki or a beaver after Minori manages to drive away the enemies harassing her. They exchange words, Dewdrop asks Minori if she’s seen any other fairies, then leaves when the answer is no. Minori gives chase, wanting more explanations. Dewdrop is very surprised Minori is able to catch up. Offers her help. Is rejected. Enemy appears, Minori steps in to protect more forest fairies (Boo, Bark, Beri, and Sprout) and connects with Dewdrop to become a precure, Cure Crown. “The protection of the forest: Cure Crown!”

Jin: Cure Rush. Has a habit of rushing into things, often to her detriment. Often ends up overworking herself, or letting others down, and is beginning to become disheartened because of it. As a precure she learns to work together as part of a team. Is athletic enough to keep herself out of trouble at the start of a fight, but often ends up in trouble because she rushed in. “The waving reeds: Cure Rush!”

Mahiru: Cure Spring. Mahiru is the more delicate and skittish one of the group, but she can empathise with the scared fairies more as a result. She loves flowers, and wants to see more flowers bloom over the town. “Brightness of the blooming flowers: Cure Spring!”

Hotaru: Cure Algae. Painter, in more of a loud, chaotic, ‘loves making a mess when painting’ kinda way. A lot of people don’t understand her, but she loves the less loves aspects of life, and colour. Goes pond-dipping a lot. She is the bioluminescent cure. “The secret of natures lights: Cure Algae!” She oftens champions the underdog, and the little known heroes of the natural world. Her favorite animals are frogs.

Kanako: Cure Rice. Seems like the quiet cure. She struggles to speak up, but wants to say how she likes to hang out with the others. Likes making food, and talking about cooking. Seems to eat a lot through nerves, but gives the others a surprise when she really pushes them in a race: she might do a lot of things by herself, but she’s secretly really competitive, and manages to stammer out to Jin how she’s going to overtake her next time. Jin is looking forward to it. “The nourishment of nature’s foods: Cure Rice!”

Whole Team:

- as a team, they are fast runners. They don't really notice it until they get to an all-stars meet and outpace the next nearest precure team. Cure March is one of the few cures that can keep up with them.

- They're not the strongest fighters, but do a lot of protecting. And trying to stay out of trouble's range.

- They're also the only cure team with useable camouflage in their outfits. They can literally almost stand in front of a bush and not be spotted.

- They each have a bushy cloak/hair/other outfit element that seems to consistently have green+flowers on it. When they start saving the forest kingdom fairies, they seem to disappear into these cloaks, sometimes emerging from their Forest tomes (visiting) The cures don't ask about the logistics. Later, the cloaks turn out to be able to help transport them to the forest kingdom, and seem to be related to their mascot fairies.

- Most of their attacks have plant-related names

- They need their respective fairy mascots to connect with their forest tomes to transform. The fairies don't have to stay with the cure or the tome after, just to get it started. They usually stick around to help or give power-ups anyway. They will also hide in the cloaks for safety.

- They would (and do) get on famously with the heartcatch crew, especially Tsubomi, and Coupe.

- Dewdrop can't fly, but the other four fairies can.

- Harvest turns out to be trying to take all the resources of the Forest Kingdom, trying to cut down its trees and modernise it because the forest fairies refuse to let them do any developments or building there. Where the forest fairies have been causing havoc on Earth by their presence, the cures have to come to terms with the balance of nature and progress: that you can't always exclude one for the other (but kicking the fairies out of their own kingdom just for development and resource stripping is a big no.)

"As far as i know, the only one to sleep with plushies is Ace, she has a Latias and a Latios plushie. She seems to adore them both equally, as far as i can tell. And, well... I have to admit, I'm kind of jealous."

"I'd love to have a plushie as well, though, with my size, most of them would probably be bigger than myself"

OC Signature Dishes

A small writing exercise inspired by Genshin's Specialty Dishes; What is this character's signature dish? If they were asked to bring something to a potluck, or make a last-minute dinner for a dear friend, what's the food they would default to? The goal is to describe the flavor and texture of the dish while at the same time revealing just a bit of the character's personality.

I had a lot of fun writing these, so hopefully I'll have more soon ^^

Azael - "Special Occasion" (Honeyed Apple Tart with Peanut Butter)

A dessert specifically reserved for special occasions and jobs well done. Only the fullest, most vibrant red apples in the orchard were finely sliced and layered upon the flaky pastry with precision and care. The roasted nuttiness of the peanut base softens the tartness of the apple, and the finishing touch is a drizzle of wildflower honey with dash of sugar. Being a stranger to the kitchen, Azael had to commit a great deal of time towards putting together this deceptively simple dish. Seeing you smile as you lick honey off your fingers is their hard-earned reward.

Lyerei - Auroral Sweet Ice (Rainbow Shaved Ice)

With a whispered incantation and a simple Prestidigitation spell, a cup of mountain spring water turns into a colorful treat in the blink of an eye! The refreshingly cool flakes of ice melt onto your tongue, simulating a medley of sweet berries and other fruits. The only colors Lyerei adds are a vivid red, a deep blue, and a bright yellow. These three simple hues, when swirled together, create all the colors of the Light Bearer clan's aurora in their center.

Sota - Post Workout Pick-Me-Up (Four Seed Bread Rolls)

Fluffy, buttery bread rolls with a golden crust, cut in two and slathered with tart cherry compote. Portable and nutritious, they're the perfect snack for when you have a busy day ahead. Each family in the Blackcliff Roost has their own recipe for baking bread, and so each loaf tastes just a bit different from the one next door. But there's a particular detail that sets Sota's recipe apart from all the others - the sprinkle of sesame, flax, poppy, and sunflower seeds added just before baking that give the crisp crust a subtle, nutty flavor.

Elgimn - "Surprise Me" (Seafood Rice Balls seeped in Green Tea)

One must be extraordinarily patient to allow the fluffy rice grains to seep in green tea until they are infused with a bitingly bitter taste. But the light aroma of the rice mixed with fresh crab meat leaves a sweet aftertaste lingering on the tongue. It seems even the most battle-worn warlords cannot resist indulging in life's simple delights every once in a while...

Hehehe ok really now! Since you didn't specify which OC/s I will present to you, a general list for them all!

Mentions of eating animals below

Coastal and Oceanic mers are omnivores. They eat fish, shellfish, kelp, plants by the shore, seagrass and such. Coastal mers are more harvesters and eat less fish and more kelp while Oceanic are hunters and eat more fish. Merry is a coastal mer so they eat lots of kelp, seagrass and shellfish. :)

Cetus and Tide are carnivores, so they eat primarily meat/fish. Tide still eats whatever, because his metabolism is higher than normal due to being very active for a Leviathan. He'll eat kelp (some kelp he'll eat just for the taste) if there's nothing else, even if he doesn't get anything out of it. Plus he just likes eating in general (hates being hungry) and is always curious to try something new (he did loot ships transporting food for some time). Cetus is much pickier. If he had a choice he'd only eat cetaceans. But alas, the humans decide his diet for him. So he has to settle with more fish and red meat (sheep, cow, pig etc) with only the occasional whale.

Alvin is a carnivore too. Nagas are opportunistic so he'll eat anything he can get hold of. Boar, moose, deer, bear, fish, cow all's good. As he currently lives on a ranch, he's guarding the rancher's animals as part of an agreement. So now he mostly eats the domesticated animals he's rationed, with the odd predator that attempts to hunt the animals he's guarding. :)

Like all Saehls, Runt is a piscivore and mainly eats fish, shellfish, octopus and crustaceans. He can eat certain vegetables and fruits/berries too (like melon, banana, blueberries, pumpkins) but the nutrients he needs comes from fish! He's very happy to have some human food too (as long as it's rice or oatmeal based and thus safe).

Elmer is an omnivore and he can eat whatever's available, like a human can. Before he was sealed, he'd hunt giant elks native to the area or any other large game. But if the hunting failed, or the winter was particularly bad, he'd eat tree bark or branches. These are things he can't really digest but it filled an achingly empty stomach. He also ate honeycombs (think the entire nest) or plucked fruit from trees.

Coby became a carnivore after being infused with alien DNA (poor thing was a vegetarian before :,)). Any and all meat is acceptable and needed to keep his instincts from taking over.

Pyrra's species eats lots of grains, fruits & vegetables, seeds & nuts, fungi, eggs and insects. Meanwhile Erzikas has a similar diet, but with more fish and less grains. Thurior eats more meat, vegetables and grains! Her species also digest lactose very well, so dairy products is a staple in their diet.

Keiki is opportunistic too and will eat any giant sea creatures like sea serpents, fish, cetaceans, crustaceans etc. He'll also eat any Titanik fruits/vegetation he can reach from the shore. And he'll also eat ocean magic currents, basically magic. Magic fuels him for a lot longer than other foods. :)

Hilda, Frida, Alfredo, Archer, dr. Pugh, Brian, Jonathan, Alice, Magdaleine, Taniel, Amelia and Samuel are all humans. So they have a human diet. Lots of variations tho as they live in different timeperiods, cultures, lifestyles and worlds. And have different allergies and intolerances. But that's just too specific to get into.

Birdie (borrower) eats whatever she can get, but she's got a sweet tooth. If she aquires a toffee then that's what she'll eat the next couple of days. Who needs the food pyramid

"Strawberry enjoyers"

My last story about the interaction of our Farmers. Thank you very much for the kind words 💕, and feel free to throw a tomato at me if I forgot about someone's farmer 😅 The story of how Julian and Josephine (@jazhand OC) wanted to surprise everyone with unusual strawberries, but Elisa (@elisa6102 OC) outdid everyone.

The whole Republic knows that in the middle of spring begins one of the favorite seasons of all sweet tooths - ripe strawberries will soon fill store shelves. And all as one will agree that there are no tastier and healthier strawberries than in Stardew Valley. Hard-working and caring farmers put on sale the long-awaited berries, which are immediately sold to everyone. Given how this berry boosts the Valley's economy, Lewis decided to dedicate an entire festival to strawberries. The festival is not as large as the egg festival, but Pelican Town residents, as well as many tourists, have embraced the idea. Local farmer Elisa, the biggest strawberry lover in the world, was especially supportive of the idea.

In addition to selling the berries themselves, the farmers decided to display strawberries that would make people gasp with delight and amazement.

Julian decided to use special organic fertilizers and a method of growing strawberries so that the berry was about the size of a human fist. Neither flavor nor health benefits were lost in the growing process, and passing children gasped in amazement and tugged at their parents' clothes, asking them to linger near the display and look at the unusually large berry.

Josephine, a kind and hardworking farmer, decided to introduce people to a new variety of strawberry that no one had ever seen before. White pineapple strawberries impress with an unusual fruit flavor! The berries are sweet, juicy and flavorful, and they are very much loved by children! The appearance of the berry is also striking. It is not like other varieties of red strawberries, it has a white color and red seeds. Like beautiful pearls, they lay on display, and gathered the attention of not only the crowd, but also other farmers, asking Josephine with interest about the strawberries and praising her for her work.

"Oh oh oh! I should definitely buy some from you. It's so beautiful, and it smells so good!" Elisa spun around past Josephine's display, looking at the unusually colored berry.

"Why buy some?", Josephine said, smiling. "Help yourself". She held out a small basket to Elisa, from which Elisa immediately took a couple of berries. "You too, Julian", She held out the basket now toward Julian, who had just arrived. He didn't refuse his colleague's tasty treat either.

"Mmm, delicious! Thank you so much, Josephine."

Julian also thanked Josephine for the strawberries with a nod, not risking opening his mouthful of delicious berries.

"Listen, Elisa, I want to ask you", Josephine suddenly said. "You told us before the festival that you were making unusual strawberries for the exhibition too. Where's your display?"

"Oh! There it is, by the cherry tree"

Josephine turned her head in the direction Elisa had pointed..... and became speechless. Under the tall tree was Elisa's display, and in it was a single strawberry... probably the size of a whole car. Julian almost choked with berries when he saw Elisa's display as well. And these are real miracles: literally a minute ago there was nothing under the tree, and then once - and a huge strawberry!

"Holy cow...", Julian said.

"Indeed", Josephine confirmed his words.

Elisa looked with pride and tenderness at the fruits (or better say berries) of her labor (and a little bit of magic), deep down hoping that no one would buy her strawberries, and she could eat them herself.
