💚 What do both of you want from the relationship? Are either of you getting it?

When Griff thought about what she wanted from Xelloss, later, when she knew what he was, and had some vague idea of why he had come to her as a child, she decided that what she wanted from him was twofold. Firstly, what she wanted was to know him– to know him better than any other being on the red world knew him, aside, perhaps, from his master Zelas. She wanted to be able to truthfully say that she alone knew the most of what was beyond the smiling face of the mazoku of secrets. 

And secondly what she wanted was his acknowledgement. She didn't mind being used, but if she was to be used she wanted to be of worth, of value. She needed, perhaps pathologically, to be the most useful of all to him. To be, if not needed, then missed when not at hand.

What Xelloss wanted from Griff was, for a very long time, completely inscrutable, even to himself. What had begun as a simple task, one of many given to him by his master, had changed somehow. There was some form of attachment. A catch. A pull– something left that tugged when he tried to move away from it. And for a long time, as a mazoku, a being of destruction and pain, he had no idea what to call this feeling of attachment besides that he wanted her to belong to him. That he was proud of her, as his pupil, and his tool, and his toy. 

The day he faced near destruction for her was the day he understood that it wasn't that simple, though there was still a long time before he understood it completely.

💭 What scenario do you return to when you think about this selfship? How does it make you feel?

Griff had started to dwell on what it might be like to be turned by Xelloss, into a mazoku. She knew that it was possible– though it was very rare.

Most humans who were bound to mazoku were bound simply through the so-called 'pledge of immortality– a ghoulish kind of half-humanity where the human's life was maintained by the mazoku's power. But it was possible, too, for a mazoku to fill a human with their power. To empty out the humanity of their soul and replace it with something else in a way that would make the human into a mazoku subordinate. Griff wondered what it would be like to die in Xelloss' arms and be reborn as something wholly inhuman. Something wholly belonging to him.

One day she would find out. It would eclipse every daydream of the idea she'd ever had.

Okay guys. It’s been a week-ish, and my goal is to stick around.  I seem to have a generally good readership for a fandom that’s pretty dormant, and lots of support from friends, so even though my mainverse is gone, I’m gonna rebuild. 

The basics:

Shipping: 

--My Xelloss is a demiromantic pansexual.  He is hella queer, and also genderfluid.  --My Xelloss is capable of love, but it’s complicated and it’s exceptionally rare. Read my meta tag or pop me an ask  c:  --I am multi-ship, though I lean toward XelFi.  It used to be my OTP.  I still love it a lot, best in fact, but I’ve become more flexible.  Other ships I consider: Xelloss x pretty much any fellow mazoku priest or general (Sherra and Huraker make the most sense to me, but again, flexible).   --I’ve never been too excited by Xellina, but I don’t dislike it either.  I’m willing to consider it bc it makes objective sense.   --XelZel is a notp. I will NOT write it.  --ValFi is also a notp. Enjoy yourselves with it, but keep me out of it. *salute*  --Try to get me to “pick a side” in ship wars of days of yore and i will BLOCK you. Immediately.  Ship wars are stupid.  You should always remember that there are people with real feelings behind all this, responsible adults capable of knowing the difference between fiction and reality. 

Plot:

--By default, my Xelloss is situated directly after the events of Slayers Evolution-R.  --I am open to incorporating plot from the new novels being translated for us by @sherrachan​ (go thank her, it’s a monumental task). 

--I am very open to AU’s, crossovers, and OC’s. Just chat with me! :) 

Characterization: 

--My Xelloss leans dark.  He’s closer to the Xelloss of TRY, the newer anime seasons, and the novels.   --He is still capable of the disastrous silliness for which we all know him. --Check out my about blurb for more. 

My “Fan Level” (lol): 

I’ve been a Slayers fan since 2003, and a hardcore one since about 2006-7.  I watched the anime, then read the first eight novels, then watched the OVAs, then read the Super Explosive Demon Story manga, the Knight of Aqualord Manga, that really weird but on-brand manga about the Octopus curse, and a few of the comic books. I watched Lost Universe because Hajime Kanzaka!   I know a lot of the deeper lore about the maoh, mazoku, and shinzoku, who all interest me most, but I do not claim to be the highest of experts (and I can point you to the people who are, if you’re interested). I am a member of a Slayers Discord server. Aside the mazoku lore,  I am also a big fan of the Greywords family, both Rezo and Zelgadis.  My favorite season of the anime is the ever-unpopular TRY (what can I say, I always go for the underdog, lol) closely followed by NEXT.  My favorite characters are Rezo, Zelgadis, and Xelloss, in that order, but there is almost no Slayers character I dislike.  If I had to pick a favorite thing about the series, aside the amazing lore, it’s the way it represents women as diverse, flawed, respectable, and REAL. 

I am a professional writer, but please don’t let that scare you off. I am not a “selective” rp blog.  I’ll write with anyone who reads my rules, and I do this STRICTLY for FUN :3.  I have been rping Xelloss since 2006 and Rezo since 2008.  COME AT ME BRUH!

One of my biggest turn-offs in fanfiction.

Pretty much, ship what you want and don’t worry about the haters. Just try to err on the side of caution if you’re shipping real people.

Only if they actually contribute something to the work instead of stealing the canon characters’ spotlight or acting as a peanut gallery.

"It's traditional to dance at weddings, isn't it?" Xelloss smirked as he grabbed Griff's wrist, watching her freeze like a deer in a wolf's jaws.

"O-of course!" Griff sputtered breathlessly, nearly falling into him. She couldn't hide her awe from him, eyes wide as they lingered on his newly restored and enhanced human form. The music of her heart was a symphony of embarrassment and reverence and it was delicious. 

Without her he would never have devoured his master and been 'promoted' to his new position. 

She deserved a reward. He swept her into his arms and across the ballroom.

🌸 Do they have a nickname for you? Are you comfortable with it being said in public?

Griff always addressed Xelloss respectfully. From Lina, occasionally he'd hear a 'Xell' or 'Xelly', but from Griff it was always Xelloss-sama, or Xelloss-sensei. But he had read her journals. He had never asked, but she would have never stopped him.

Often when she wrote of him, she called him her 'teacher' or her 'mysterious patron', but every now and then she would refer to him as 'the great beast', or even 'my handsome beast'.

It was deeply endearing. Xelloss was looking for an opportunity to subtly tease her about it; to watch her go bright scarlet, caught under his gaze.

💘 what is S/I's way of showing affection?

Xelloss could feel every little emotion that flickered through Griff's heart. That was why it amused him so much the way she restrained herself. She wanted nothing better than to grab hold of him, hang off his arm, twine her fingers with his. For the most part she refrained- out of fear for his comfort as a demon, and out of a sense of maintaining the dignity of the relationship between them which he refused to define. It was funny. It was… endearing. It made it all the more amusing when she couldn't restrain herself, and grabbed his hand tightly.

🍬 where is your favorite place to kiss S/I? Does S/I like it when you kiss them there?

Xelloss initially avoided kissing Griff on the lips simply because it was more fun to tease and confuse her with kisses on the tip of her nose, on the cheek, or especially to brush away her bangs and kiss her on the forehead. Her face would heat up, and she'd stammer, and try to brush the interaction off as something casual, or friendly. But he could feel the way her heart ached in her chest. The more he withheld what she really wanted, the more he kept their relationship ambiguous, the more power it gained. And that was very amusing.

💤 Does S/I like to sleep with you? If so, what's their favorite sleeping position when with you?

Xelloss didn't sleep. Sometimes, though, he pretended to sleep to keep up the appearance that he was human. On one occasion, while his identity was still a secret to Lina and her party he'd been cornered into making camp with them.

"You don't even have a bedroll!" Lina jeered.

"Oh it's fine, I'll just bunk with Griff!" The chaotic tremor of emotions that shuddered through the camp at his declaration was exhilarating. 

When they were bedding down, Griff, still scarlet, murmured to him. "I won't tell anyone if you just disappear."

"Now where would the fun in that be?" He smiled and felt another thrill of mingled desire and humiliation roll through her being.

Huddled close in the same bedroll, Xelloss scooped his arms around her, the curve of her spine against the stomach of his human form. He could feel her body trembling against him as she tried to master herself; hot puffs of breath as self discipline warred with desire and frustrated her. 

He petted his fingers over her cheek with a chuckle. It took Griff a long time to fall asleep that night. Xelloss lingered between the astral and material planes holding her and watching her dreams.

🚩 What makes your selfship ‘dark’? Is it the dynamic? The way they met? A specific element of the relationship?

Griff knew that Xelloss was a mazoku, and she, as an educated wizard– educated by him!-- knew what that meant. The mazoku race existed only to bring destruction, the ultimate end of the world. Mazoku fed on the miasma of human misery and pain and negative emotions.

So what did the attention that the great Beast Priest Xelloss paid her mean? What did it mean that he educated her, and praised her? That he stroked her hair with the fingers of his human form? 

He could be fattening her pitiful heart like a prized pig for the great misery of his inevitable betrayal. Or he could be sharpening her like a blade to wield in the creation of some terrible catastrophe against the world that would howl with suffering at her deeds. Mazoku were known to do such things, more often even than they were known to make bargains. It was all plainly detailed in the books of dark magic that Xelloss himself had given her.

Griff didn't understand.

Sometimes in the dark she dared to believe that he loved her, somehow. That everything she knew about mazoku was wrong, or that there was something flawed in his glorious demonic nature that would allow it to be true.

But in the blackest part of her heart she didn't care. She didn't care if he would betray her, or if he would use her to destroy the world. She was his, and she was proud to be his, and she would let him use her for whatever terrible end he had in mind, and be satisfied.
