“Clipped Wings”

Auri, and her mother, Cecelia. Both suffering the same fate at one point in time- becoming a bargaining chip for business marriages.

After her and Grey’s college crash and burn, Auri dedicated herself solely to her research, which her father took every advantage of (considering he’s the one who sent poor Greyson into his tailspin) to talk her into doing the family a “favor”.

It wasn’t the first time he’d proposed she consider David as a husband (“he’s a brilliant inventor and engineer with an incredibly unique evol, and is revolutionizing luxury transportation. One day you’ll have a home in the stars, Aurelia.”) in fact he’d started before she’d even met Grey, but Auri had always seen the strain her and her brother’s mere existence put on her mother, and she couldn’t fathom trading her very identity for something like… that.

So she refused. Vehemently. Until the day she turned 28, and her father explained in sharp words that the only reason a rich man has a son is so that he may inherit his empire, and he has a daughter, so that she may strengthen it. And it was getting to the point where she would soon be unable to do even that. So after years and years of wearing her down, Auri finally agreed, and for 3 long years she was engaged to David.

The hardest thing about birds though, is that when they’re used to being flighted, clipping their wings can actually kill them. The delicate bone over their chest breaks so easily when they fall. And when a bird is used to being able to fly, and suddenly finds itself plummeting to earth with no way to catch itself, the situation can become very dire very quickly.

And so you put it in a tiny cage.

"Alright, you two, here comes the airplane!"Elvis smiled as he swirled the spoons around like a plane. Cecelia was out running errands for her mother's studio, which left him in a dilemma, feeding time for the twins. Elaine and Jesse had been prone to be messy when it came to their mashed carrots and their soft peas, but this time would prove to be the worst. As the spoons landed for delivery on their tongues, Elvis couldn't help but smile at the twins as they gummed down their food and babbled to each other. Oh, how he wished he knew what they were saying. "Yummy hmm?" "Wabababa!" Elaine said as she giggled, her brown eyes sparkling as she made grabby hands at the spoon, "Patience little biscuit." Elvis cooed loading up the spoons again as Jesse was about to cry, "No don't do that." He sighed watching Jesse calm down, noticing the mess on his hands Elvis had gone to get a cloth as he hummed walking away the twins decided to have their fun, walking back to the high chairs Elvis came back to a mess of two babies covered in food, Jesse with peas and carrots and bananas in his hair and elaine who had it in her ears and down her clothes, "Didn't I just bathe you two…" He breathed hard picking them both up as he carried them upstairs to the bathtub. He first began to undress Elaine taking off her headband as her curly hair had baby crackers hidden in it, "Hey those were from snack time…" Elvis glanced at her as she smiled wide trying to put her foot in her mouth, meanwhile Jesse was worse when Elvis undressed him he felt something wet on his shirt as he grumbled, "Jesse… You didn't…" "Papawaabaabaa." "No Jesse this is an expensive shirt…" "Bababa bababa." "Guess I gotta take a bath too." The house was quiet when Cecelia returned, she didn't hear anything, not a cry or a shout, she raced upstairs opening the bedroom door as her eyes caught the sight of Elvis asleep with the twins on his chest.

A quick shout out to the time Narek was Confused and beat the shit out of Wren! They were only almost dead - it's fine. They got better!

And a full render attempt at an outfit + inventory update for Wren for Book 4 of Extinction Curse. I need to practice a bit more with item renderings, but Wren has some cool equipment now.
