Thinking about Dorian and my Lavellan.
At the start of Inquisiton, though you'd never know it by her demeanor, Ellenere is lowkey terrified of all the Humans around her, especially the Templars and fancy Templar(Seeker).
She's the picture of diplomacy, and at the Conclave even went so far as to drop her Free Marches Dalish accent and adopt a more Ferelden accent (so she shifts from Irish to Alix's British), all to make herself appear pleasant and avoid giving the Humans a reason to hurt her. She's on eggshells for most of her early days in Haven, and doesn't have many people to drop her guard around or feel safe with. The only other Elves around are either servants or a standoffish man who doesn't consider himself to be her kind of Elf. The Dwarf is nice to her at least, and has wonderful stories.
Enter Dorian Pavus, a not-a-magister from Tevinter. Somehow THIS Human is more of a pariah than the Dalish Elf Mage. And he wears it with such enthusiasm and defiance! Any bigoted ire from others makes like a heat-seeking missile toward him and avoids her almost entirely.
He's a bit tone deaf when it comes to the life circumstances of Elves, but Lavellan being an Elf is a non-issue for him. She's no more weird to him than any other Southern savage (a designation which notably includes the Humans and Dwarves and Qunari around her). The one Human who logically she should feel the least safe around becomes almost instantly a source of comfort, and models for her how best to own the ill perception others have of her.
Obviously their relationship develops quite a bit further than "Man these Humans hate this one Human so much they forget to be bigoted toward me!" but it is unfortunately how the least likely candidate for the best friend of a Dalish Elf got a foot in the door to eventually became her dearest companion.
#dragon age inquisition#inquistor lavellan#dorian pavus#Ellenere Lavellan#it's important to me that Dorian is her first real anchor#obvs Solas becomes that too#but Dorian was her rock before rocks existed#they've been friends since before the first Spirit of Friendship ever formed

i started inquisition when i was like. fifteen i think. and even then i really didn't get the numerous fan posts about how annoying solas is / up his own ass when the game time & time again feeds us tidbits of a broken down shell of a man who's going on a suicide mission to fix what he thinks he broke when he cast the old gods out. yeah his attitude about the dalish at the start of the game is insufferable but if you play as a dalish inq regardless of your rs w him he clearly admits he's blinded by his own bias to have recognized that the dalish are trying their best to reach for something long gone, revered only in tales & tomes.
#dragon age thoughts#da:i#da:i playthrough#solas thoughts#idk i just... i never thought he was imposing his views on the player i guess? like it felt more like commentary of someone#whos seen far too much and has held onto that bitterness for decades#like obvs we dont know hes ancient until trespasser but. like his attitudes & talks like it's all so. self deprecating?#the random party banter like you can hear the self loathing esp when youre in the dales or when hes asked ab life as an elf#also i think navigating the world whilst you see your own people cast you as a trickster & a terrifying figure to meet must be difficult#to be driven from your true nature and to be punished by history for what others made you become is a horrible thing#i also think it parallels w inq being forced into the andraste herald role even if they dont believe it regardless of race#one day your entire world shifts on its axis. the world moves on. but not you. because you'll never be who you were before all of this.

please tell us more about your second worldstate!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 i'm so intrigued by your ocs and i saw you mentioning playing amell currently
thank u for asking omg !!!! i have 3 worldstates loosely planned out which is a Lot for me since i have a tendency to get deeply (perhaps pathologically) attached to one worldstate and one pc lol. but im being brave abt it !
worldstate 1 is my canon worldstate, and the overarching theme for it is self-mythology/loss of personhood. i wont go into detail since i yap enough abt them already lol but i have elspeth (warrior f!cousland romancing alistair) cillian (a rogue m!hawke romancing anders) and ashara (a mage f!lavellan romancing/redeeming solas) all going into datv head first. my canon datv pc will likely be an elven archer f!rook romancing either davrin or taash hehe <3
second worldstate is all mages and obv thats the main theme i wanna have fun with
lucander amell (he/him, blood mage and spirit healer, romances morrigan) unassuming, distant, and polite and also kind of unnerving. used to being seen as a bad guy and is willing to act accordingly, but otherwise is a pretty decent, honorable man. does morrigan's ritual, kills the archdemon, leaves alistair a grey warden. doesn't become warden commander in awakening bc he goes into hiding from the wardens before they can ask too many questions abt the ritual and why hes still alive. he tracks down morrigan in the hopes of protecting her, and then stays with her and their son after that.
cecilia hawke (she/her, spirit healer mage, romances fenris) a blue!hawke who's sweet and motherly and soft spoken and has an enormous guilt complex/self hate for being a mage lol. carver joins the templars, and she later sides with them in act 3 and kills anders which </3 anyways. she survives here lies the abyss in dai and hopefully goes on to attend biweekly couples therapy with fenris <3
thomasin trevelyan (SOFTEST of launches on that name) (she/her, knight enchanter mage, romances cullen. maybe.) socially adept, politically cunning, with a love for the game and a desire to regain her place within the trevelyan family nobility. sides with the mages, doesn't drink from the well, negotiates a truce between celene/gaspard/briala, pardons the wardens, redeems solas, disbands the inquisition post trespasser. shes a good girl and she's got her head on straight!
might do a qunari f!rook mage to romance taash or davrin for datv! we'll see !
lastly my third worldstate places value on the eluvians so its very elfy or at least elf-adjacent. and also the lineage of ameridan > garahel > maherial and so on. i just think its neat . still VERY much underdeveloped tho so no names yet
f!mahariel, she/her, an archer who romances leliana (prev tamlen :c) who dies killing the archdemon
half elven f!hawke mage, romancing merrill!! she sides with the mages but probably still kills anders :( shaking my head in disgust so u can tell i do not approve of this choice ..........
an m!trevelyan warrior romancing ?????????????? IDK. cass maybe. this is going to be exclusively a 'piss off solas' speedrun so hes siding with the templars, putting gaspard on the throne, doing war crimes, etc. wont be redeeming him i fear </3
i hate to say it. i HATE to say it. but if there's a way for me to make a solasmancing rook for datv i Will find a way in this worldstate for the comedic effect of antagonizing my m!trev. even if its just thru headcanons exclusively lol
#THANK U FOR ASKING I LOVE YOU <3#and sorry this is so long i just love to talk abt the guys that live in my brain lol#out of all of them im most excited for cecilia i just think theres so much to DO with a character like hers#but i think the hype will grow as the rest of the worldstates develop too !#easier said than done tho bc its soooo hard for me to think abt anything except my canon worldstate rn lol

jaws of hakkon thoughts. just vague musings. many spoilers obv, including some for taking cassandra and solas along
hakkon as the avvar-dragon was so intriguing bc it's a spirit hosted in flesh. could very well be a standalone thing that only the avvar do, but ofc me being me, i was like "huh. what if this was the case of the original/first elvhen?" spirits hosted in flesh. the evanuris? the all-father and all-mother who gave rise to everyone else? especially powerful elvhen despite the fact that other elvhen existed?
also the one-off mention of ameridan's spirit companion has me like ?!?!?!?!? PLS explain i need to know more holy shit....
ameridan being so opposed to the what the seekers have become, being so saddened by the change btwn the elves and orlais, regretting so much
his feelings about the way the rite of tranquility has been abused.... 😭fuck
but also the bit about how both andraste and ghilan'nain were risen up to sit with the gods. that was wild. never thought i'd see those two compared, but i can completely understand the comparison too
also just so pleased to have a chance to look at avvar culture fr
the runes explaining how the avvar gods die and are reborn as them and as not-them made me tear up thinking about wisdom
really wanted solas to say more than just "ghilan'nain" in that one scene tho. tell me ur thoughts!!!!! like ofc he's not about to spill everything but u g h his tone was SO controlled and just a single word. shakes him.
i watched that scene on the island when you're speaking to the spirit that guarded talena's memories soooo many times bc i was transcribing all the options and now i keep thinking: "metal spires. a way to stop the dragon." in the spirit/talena's tone of voice and it continues to give me feelings.
see also: when collecting ameridan's memories in that cave where he's talking about his companions bickering and how he couldn't manage without them and solas just says "the more things change..." <- feelings city
ALSO how does ameridan know we're the inquisitor??? that's so wild to me! has he been observing us in some distant way? does he just sense it? he can't know because of the anchor, because such magic did not exist in his time. did someone call the modern inky inquisitor in front of him and i just forgot? did he hear everything that went on in that room? has he been awake since the spell began for that one guy to get hakkon?
i have questionssss

for the ship ask: lucanis/emmrich, danlou & hawke/anders! (whenever i find out a moot is into da too i must immediately know which romances u did for each game 👁👁👁)
oh totally!! i romanced zevran in origins and fenris in da2 (i have a type lmaoo) and tbh i've played through most dai romances bc that's the game i started with but my favourites, my loves, are The Iron Bull and solas. also if varric had ever been romanceable he'd be wayy up there lmao. i havent played veilguard yet (been very poor recently) but I Will Be Romancing that Old Man. I need him desperately.
lucanis/emmrich is a solid maybe from me, i've heard good things but obv haven't played the game yet! i am guaranteed to become obsessed with emmrich so good chance this will be an otp in a year
danlou is solidly otp status i LOVE them. i'm particularly fond of how katplanet writes them. care and keeping? that's my danlou bible right there.
hawke/anders is ship it level for me i think. i like it, but it's not something i actively seek out. i'm much more into m!hawke/fenris and f!hawke/varric
thank u for the ask!!!
send me a ship to rate: ship: ew / nonono / maybe / ship it / aww / otp / MY HEART

#i think a general theme im running into when writing posts like this is that the writers like#wanted to turn ideas from other games upside down (the wardens being the 'enemy' & the elven gods being 'evil') but that they couldnt do it#in either a satisfying way or a way that doesnt feel like haha ur wrong oe we tricked u#or they just go way too far in the opposite direction#like with the elven gods - they couldve simply been like oh they werent gods they were just important immortal figures who ended up#taking on leadership or guiding positions among their people and because they were revered etc they 'became' gods kind of like um#u know like with egyptian pharohs becoming divine themselves after they died the elven gods ended up being seen as such#and the dalish later revere them as gods from what theyve held onto from their history and theyre not 'wrong' they just dont remember#exactly how those gods became known as gods#except instead bioware went in the complete opposite direction and went oh no they were evil mage slavers!! as bad as tevinter magisters#the elves obvs are stupid for not knowing this and clearly deserved what happened to them!#which is. well we know how i feel about that#what was my point ??#oh yeah right bioware isnt good at flipping what weve been told in other games#its also i think not v good at being like . we're gonna reveal a Little about this mystery but it still needs to remain Mysterious#like never being able to question solas on his knowledge because he has to remain mysterious#or to ever talk to corpheyus about being an og magister?? like i get the dude is nuts but i desperately wanted to ask him about that#the one time i think they did it well was with the descent#because they used the whole dlc to build up to that reveal and it WAS a big reveal and left us with questions that feel like#they cant be answered yet but in an organic way because literally no one has the answers#anyway um. this got super long sorry sjsjsijww
what do you think about the way dai handled the wardens?
see I feel like inquisition could've said something interesting about an organisation that can do whatever necessary in the name of saving the world, but they just? didn't do it well? (it's something I feel like is never really addressed with the power of the inquisition itself either but that's off topic). tdlr at the end because this got long whoops
like I think the idea of the wardens all panicking about getting the calling all at once is a really interesting idea! but the way the writers went about it was so??? like it just made the wardens (specifically clarel) seem really dumb? not with using blood magic, because despite all the anti blood magic stuff from the characters (especially hawke which is bizarre when they... can be a blood mage), da2/dai also tell us it's just a tool and not inherently evil. which is fine, we've seen that throughout all three games! but the fact that clarel and the wardens are listening to erimond and that none of them suspect him or question is plan is just so stupid. erimond is the most cartoon stereotype of an evil tevinter magister and will literally Evil Grin half the time and none of the wardens thought that was weird??
up until dai we/the characters see the wardens as this group that seems like it knows exactly what it's doing, is always going to be around, is completely necessary, and can't really 'fall' aside from in battle against darkspawn. having them be suddenly vulnerable and in need of help could've been really interesting! it could've also been an opportunity to actually tell us more about the wardens origins. solas has this belief we've never seen before that the wardens are actually fools/potentially completely wrong with the way they're going about defeating the blight, but we're never able to find out why he thinks that or what he thinks the alternative is (this is a general fault with his character imo, they never let you push him because he has to stay Mysterious). there's a lot about the wardens we don't know, and I feel like dai would've been a good time to tell us more since we're facing off against one of the og magisters who started the blights.
it all just feels very contrived to push the 'inquisitor chooses to kick the wardens out or not', so as a result a lot of it just feels?? stupid sjekskw especially because at this point even despite what's happened ... the wardens are the only way to stop a blight? and so many of the companions are like oh kick them out :/ but guys... what about the blights??
on the other hand, I actually really like the fade quest. it's so different from the fade quests in previous games and its really interesting seeing the 'raw' fade. the scene where clarel is dying and blasts the red lyrium dragon as she's reciting the wardens oath and the ledge crumbles as everyone falls into the fade is actually one of my favourite scenes in the game. the whole falling into the fade feels a lot more ?? natural I guess than some of the other quests in the game and is genuinely a surprise when it happens.
basically I think that dai could've done something really interesting with the wardens as a group who are usually the people you turn to when things are extremely dire suddenly needing your help, instead of oh a whole group of people are blindly following a cartoon villain without question, isn't that bad of them we should punish them!
this is off the top of my head, but i think an interesting way of doing it that would tie more into the main story maybe would be to have that corypheus is directly influencing the warden commanders (cut erimond out completely), since we know he can do that, and he's managed to spread that influence (maybe still using the nightmare demon), and that the wardens themselves turn to the inquisitor after hearing about how they survived corypheus at haven and allied/recruited the mages/templars. (it was weird to me that clarel was like??? corypheus is dead tho?? like surely she would've heard the rumours about haven at least? anyway). maybe if you ally with the mages, fiona tells you the wardens have reached out to her for help, or you're able to ask her opinion once the wardens have reached out through hawke or something. it would make the whole 'the inquisition is developing into a group that people respect and see as a source of help' feel more real I think. have the build up to fighting the wardens at adamant be longer and more in depth, with the warden contact taking the inquisitor to meet more wardens and giving us the opportunity to learn more about the order or something. personally I've always wondered if the first warden, or whoever created the wardens, was one of the original tevinter magisters like corephyus. I think maybe also get rid of the demon army bit? because I'm not sure I get why corephyus even needed one if his main goal was to break into the fade. like why not just influence the wardens to obey him into gathering people for a sacrifice to enter the fade like he did with the other magisters?? idk
anyways ajaja this got long so tdlr: I think dai handled the wardens 'corruption' poorly and that helping / saving the wardens from themselves could've been really interesting but ultimately is kind of annoying and in the end kind of feels like bioware being like surprise this organisation we told u is good in dao is now the enemy!

so far i’ve read three trees to midnight, horror of hormak, and callback. i’m trying to practise restraint and leave the last story until i’m at least done with my initial read-through of the material most relevant to my characters which ksjdf. is very hard but here’s notes i’ve taken so far:
oh and btw pls dont r/b this!
if you want a pretty good demonstration of why solas and cole speak with discomfort about how spirits are used in thedas, “wisp darts” may be a pretty good example. it’s likely the wisps aren’t fully-formed spirits, more akin to the pieces of pieces cole refers to the mortalitasi using. still a pretty callous way to use something that has some presence, even if it’s not a person.
there’s a reference to a talented tevinter mage healer being able to reattach arms with magic, through use of spirits.
there is a lot of discord among the qunari rn, both within different arms and without. the bas-taar, the antaam keeper of bas slaves, essentially, thinks of the ashaad with disdain- “even the black-and-white-striped vitaar that painted the huntmaster’s face was drawn to symbolise sight, finding, rather than battle and power, as befitted the antaam.” funnily the huntsmaster is actually not antaam but ben-hassrath, therefore a priest, but that his attitude doesn’t draw notice indicates this isn’t abnormal for the ashaad. so like not only do at least some of the antaam and ben-hassrath have beef, but there’s beef within the antaam.
if i read it right, the dwarven deep roads gave way to purely elven ruins, and the warden narrator notes that this isn’t completely unheard of. not only that but there are dwarven carvings of elves, and it’s only later the elven bas-relief take over. i’ll prob need to reread to wrap my head about it, i wonder the relation between the dwarves and elves there.
fucked up as the art itself was, i love the glimpse we got into true elven art. the lack of age made me pause-- solas indicates that spirits can preserve things, so it could be that, or could someone be upkeeping it? and the change the art went through, going from healing to putting the hurt (the taint?) into people. whether this is just ramesh’s perception changing or magic idk, but i also wouldn’t be surprised if ancient elven magic shifted as the viewer looked at it, too.
solas’ reasoning for discomfort abt the wardens grows tbh when i think about the art. while the wardens don’t change themselves the way (what i assume to be) ghilan’nain’s creations have, they are still taking the blight into them oftentimes unwillingly. it’s the sort of parallel that would be difficult to let go to say the least.
there was a yellow-green lyrium stone hanging from the ceiling, something we’ve apparently only seen before in the hissing wastes (around rifts). cole makes reference to it being a result of venatori trying to make red lyrium “less angry,” which i guess would make sense given all the blight around the lyrium? but who knows if they’re connected. it’s a pretty good bet that green lyrium is somehow touched or related to the Fade/sky in ways the blue stuff isn’t.
a lot about the spirit of regret made me wonder both about it and about solas. there was a lot to it that didn’t match up to solas’ motivations-- glee in the dread that was coming, for example, doesn’t match, calling itself the regret of a god. this is honestly expected as spirits don’t create perfect replicas, tho still interesting. and that what felled it wasn’t a lack of regret, but an ownage of said regret. idk i feel it has greater implications for “demons” because things like pride, desire, rage aren’t bad but natural human emotions, and sometimes necessary or even good. this ramble is just becoming the plot to pixar’s inside out. regret was a good and i wish things had ended less violently for it, even if it will likely reform in the fade. i will be putting more stuff out abt regret tbh b/c i like to think it and solas spoke prior to him leaving the inquisition but for now i’ll leave it be.
the implications for solas? - “I regret acting alone!” / “I regret using my friends!” / “I regret now!” as sutherland himself notes it seems like he was echoing the regret that drew it to skyhold, and all these things apply to solas 1000%. the thing about solas’ relationship with regret is that while he does “own it” in the sense that he will admit regretting-- a lot of things, and often-- his relationship with it is pretty unhealthy and doesn’t lead him to new paths, at least not as of now. he’s regretful but also feels stripped of other choices. - “There might have been a better choice, said a thought it had not been allowed.” this line makes me think about inquisitors who vowed to redeem solas, specifically thora, but what else is new there. namely, the lines at the end of his trespasser screne aren’t so much in the spirit of “save our friend from himself, if we can” but “i’ll show you there’s another way.” which is much closer to how i imagine the threat solas poses could be nullified (without just pure opposition, anyway, which imo may solve the solas dilemma but would just be slapping a bandage on a world that’s bleeding out). - that the final fresco became the scene of flemythal’s death and that the figure was both lupine and reptilian obvs confirms that it was absorption and not possession which, thanks i hated that theory for many reasons. whether the implication is that solas has lost some of his own identity as a result or it’s merely symbolic we’ll see, i guess. i do personally hc that it changes his relationship with his own magic and not necessarily for the better. - tbh the moral sutherland and the order from divine victoria is interesting considering-- regret did accept and move on? which has implications for more than just solas but spirits in general. idk i’ll talk abt this one more once a) i reread it and b) i read the other relevant stories for solas b/c i know there’s more
on a brighter note, it was sweet and so good to see the inquisition from the POV of people not in the inner circle. i loved the note of skyhold being stripped bare by people taking keepsakes, and how much it meant to sutherland
overall so far i think my fave has been three trees to midnight, i thought the chemistry between the characters rang the most true. i’ll have to go back and reread down among the dead mean as i know it has spirit-relevant stuff but i wanted to read horrors of hormak......... so.
oh i wanted to add if you’d like more coherent summaries, i’d suggest felassan’s tevinter nights tag. everything i talk abt in here will prob end up rewritten on solas or my multimuse (like the qunari stuff is relevant to tetrak) rn it’s just........... words.
#dragon age spoilers#tevinter nights spoilers#( ooc )#he calls himself Pride ( about )#[ my mind is real fuzzy now rip ]

the ever WIP list of decisions for his inquisitor verse since my keep never updates, for reference + canon divergence
actively refuses to accept the title of herald, inquisitor at all choices
canon divergent: sometime after returning with mother giselle, orders cullen’s forces not only to deal with the supposed troublesome relative but at the same time to send for his bastard child and to bring his half-elf son from the free marches to haven.
IN HUSHED WHISPERS: allies with the mages, sentences Alexios to work under them
canon divergent: party members who walk through redcliffe can witness and overhear the following
a chantry sister who works in the area will mistakenly refer to stipa by another name (Alder), then apologize and point out, “of course, you’re far too young”
mages and villagers will in passing pause to watch Stipa before setting their hand on his shoulder and offer their “condolences for his loss”
Echo arrives before the return from Redcliffe and upon seeing him Stipa drops to his knees, an absolute mess after having just watched Connor throw himself in the fire, and having gone through a future where he hears of an awful death he couldn’t protect the boy from. Only Dorian seems to understand at first, as it takes several days before he opens up to the future he saw.
IN YOUR HEART SHALL BURN: again, slightly canon divergent.
doesn’t save everyone at haven 2/4 or 3/4 depending on if your muse is helping
only helping because he’s searching wildly for his son
doesn’t care about saving anyone outside of his son. like the only reason he finally volunteers to sacrifice is because he asks if a) someone will take echo with them and b) will it give them enough time to get out and c) please don’t let his son look back and watch
WICKED EYES AND WICKED HEARTS: Florianne publically humiliated, personally killed. Her remains sentenced to community service. Briala accidentally banished. Assuming that all companions attend but the four party group is most attentive on helping the inquisitor. That will include Iron Bull (want to catch an assassin? ask the spy), solas, stipa obvs, and the fourth member depending on threads is swapped out as necessary with it being either dorian or a romanced rpc muse.
OTHER QUESTS TO BE UPDATED WHEN I GET TO THEM EVENTUALLY
misc quests / etc
trying to destroy red lyrium supplies
saves the chargers
uses diplomacy to get josie’s family back into favor
but for most missions, favors using leliana’s connections whenever possible
sabotages vivienne’s potion
orders cullen not to start back on lyrium
doesn’t really care to assist blackwell
assists dorian with the venatori
uses his arcane knowledge to restore solas’ spirit friend / solas puts her down himself, lets solas kill the mages
sera gets impatient and kills whatshisface herself
closest companions in order of acquisition tend to be solas, cole, dorian, bull if that makes a difference to you. blackwell and cassandra can’t stand his choices usually.
takes just about every sidequest.
herbal gardens, not a chantry garden
strained relationship with relatives
aggressive as shit during the start of the game after the conclave. realizes he’s gonna die but like fuck he has to give anyone an easy time about it. eases up after he’s earned himself a pardon.
canon divergence in background
stipa trevelyan has always been a troublemaker within his family, sharing only a close relationship with his aunt lucille. a penchant for misbehavior even by the standards of his fellow marchers, for creating strained relations with other families by running his mouth, for impulses and carelessness. everything the chantry doesn’t want to see in a young nobleman. his parents - aldar and isla - were mages within the ostwick circle who helped to instigate the circle’s eventual rebellion. when isla gave birth, everyone was certain the boy would have his same prowess for magic as his parents. When no such evidence unfurled, he was eventually released to his uncle Bann to raise, around the age of nine years or so.
raised that if he were to be the one to cause so much trouble for the family, he ought to be one of the ones to guard after it as well, taking to using daggers as an extension of his body and learning archery as easy as breathing. setting off for misadventures as a teenager and only returning for the Grand Tourney before setting off again. his final return at 19 causing uproar within the family as he returns with a half-elven toddler in tow. much to the displeasure of them all, he does nothing to conceal his bastard from the world: worse, he embraces the boy, taking him to parties and spoiling him rotten, openly referring to the boy as his son. worse still, years pass and it becomes clear that the boy is an apostate in the making -- that stipa will let him have nothing to do with the circles. the family treats him horribly, using threat of handing the boy over as tool to force stipa’s arm in situations --
forcing him to attend the conclave and find some way to reclaim his reputation. to clean the black spot on the family name that he and his parents have left behind.
#also hi one day i'll do a write up about how the trevs were probably into some shady ass shit#but i'm too tired to write an essay based on some 'throw away' lines#➹ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ「 stipa 」

tagged by: @falkreathh thank you!! sorry for doing this so much later u_u’ tagging: whoever wants to!! (◡‿◡✿) 1. favourite game in the series ok... i don’t know if you already figured it out but my total fave is dao. why? maybe is the nostalgic feelings this game gives me or... i played it so many mcfucking times that i just get this hollow feeling inside my chest when i haven’t played it for weeks... idk. the trespasser dlc was spectacular too and gave my lavellan a lot of personality (what i thought the dai base game lacked, bc it made me feel like my inquisitor was an empty shell with no personality, solas’ romance save the dai base game to me tbqh). but... you can create such complex personalities in dao for your warden, and the relationships are so so realistic. i think (dao) is neat lmao.
2. how did you discover dragon age? before being a dragon age fan i was a dark souls fan; i breath dark souls, i read dark souls, i ate dark souls, i was quite obsessed with dark souls, and before dark souls i was an obsessed skyrim fan (oNLY SKYRIM, not the previous games ashdgjasdgh) and with skyrim that was the first time i made video game oc's, like... they had such complex personalities and i cannot make complex character now... aNYWAY i'm getting carried away: i knew dragon age bc dai was being lunched and ALL the people i followed reblogged stuff about dai, and then i bought dao and loved it!!
3. how many times have you played the games? hfgsdjfhsjfshd fffUCKKKK SHITT... alright... many mANY TIMES, but how many times i haven't finished my game?? countless times!! i think i finished fINISHED dao maybe... pls don't laugh at me... 10+ times. yes they are so so so many times, shame on me! shame on my cow! blah blah, but i lOVE dao. da2 maybe.... 3-4 times? and dai 6 times?? it's funny bc i played dao and da2 in many different ways but dai... m8, always the same, fuck you solas sdhfjdshjsdf 4. favourite race to play? qUNARIIIII!!! i lOVE tieflings so.. i obviously love the qunari too, but in the dai the first race i chose was qunari but then i talked to solas and i was like... bITCHHHHH i'm gonna create an elf to romance this egg, and then... my canon inky became an elf lol. and last favourite race are humans... ok don't hate me, it's not bc they are """boring""" or shit like that, it's bc they are the upper-class of thedas and i LOVE the "from zero to hero" trope... so... yeah agfshsdfhj 5. favourite class? mages!! bc i love the lore behind this class, it's fantastic, precisely blood magic. but if i didn't care about this, i would choose archer, tho in the first games it sucked but in dai is pretty cool :^) 6. do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? as i've said before i have made many different decisions in dao and da2 but in dai are always the same lol 7. go-to adventuring group? origins: alistair/sten, morrigan, zev/leliana da2: aveline, anders, isabela/varric dai: solas, cassandra, cole/sera 8. which of your characters did you put the most thought into? i think prim/anika??(they're the same but one is a human and the other an elf lmaoo), she was my first da oc, and obviously the one i put most thought into bc i uSED to have a lot of creativity some years ago, what a pity my brain is useless now lmao 9. favourite romance? pfffff... solas, alistair, leli and cass!! i think?? idk i gotta play again dai bc i'm not sure :/ 10. have you read any of the comics/books? i've read aLL the books but not the comics :/, i want to read the comics but idk where i could read them online and free (sorry i'm poor lol), so... mi gozo en un pozo lmao 11. if you read them, which was your favourite book? my fav book was "the masked empire"!! patrick weekes is a good writer and i loved the orlesian politics, and i adored seeing these characters in dai! (tho briala was whitewashed lmao) 12. favourite DLCs? obviously: awakening and trespasser. these two dlc's were mcfUCKING AMAZING. i mean, with dao i expected the same quality of the base game, but trespasser was such an excelent and good experience, it gave a lot of insight to our inquisitors and also: sOOULASSSSS, so yep! i mainly lOVED trespasser and i hope weekes guides the team to make a game at least as good as this dlc! (tho, if ea is a greedy bintch this time [as always lol] it doesn't matter how many times the bioware time tries, ea will force them to do a shitty game :/) 13. things that annoy you how viv, anders and sera are written, i mean, i loved anders the first time i played da2 but his personality is obviously written to annoy the fuck outta you, tho i loved how he expressed his ideals freely (tho sometimes he even seemed too traidtional to me about topics like blood magic :/), but sera and viv were a lil harder to befriend and like, and i still don't like much viv, but i love her as a character, y'kno 14. orlais or ferelden? tbh, if i gotta live in one of those two places i would choose ferelden by fAR. but, now, if we're talking about which is more interesting; orlais. 15. templars or mages? like @/blckwall said: all templars are bastards :). i would love if thedas had independent magic schools, that there were no higher representatives or charges, that every village or city had its own magic school, and the crown would be the responsable of manage its needs. i haven't thought much about this so my thoughts are quite vague :/ 16. if you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one? they're from different universes, tho i'd love the idea of all of them being in the same universe, but some worlds states are incompatible with others. 17. what did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc) in dao: barkspawn (i'm extremelly predictable, sorry u_u') 18. have you installed any mods? all my dragon age games are modded as fUCK. i mean, i think dao is the most heavy modded game i have?? (mainly bc i cannot install many mods in skyrim lol) but when i have my gaming computer again i will mod the shit out of dai >:) 19. did your warden want to become a grey warden? prim had been working in the circle her entire live to be in the higher ranks, and then she saw how all her work was lost made her really conflicted: she didn't wanted to leave bc she yearned to be more powerful and make the circle a better place for mages (yep, she's deeply anti-circle bc of her traumatic past), and she was going to die if she refused duncan's offer. even so, she was never sorry for supporting jowan. and, she became the king of ferelden's mistress; she loved him obv, but she could also take some advantage of his power to make the mages and marginalize people's situation better, and gain fortune by that; alistair was well aware about her plans by prim's words herself, but he never objected. altho the main cause prim made alistair king is bc she wanted him to have a good life and not waste it as a grey warden, so... anyway, i got acrried away... this is long af ghdjsdgf 20. hawke’s personality? red mostly, tho he used to be purple/red in the first and begining of the second act :/ 21. did you make matching armor for your companions in inquisition? yes i did!! i lOVED to be fashionable in dragon age instyle!! 22. if your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change? prim : she would have tried to convince jowan and wait some months until she could convince him. also: sometimes she wishes she didn't make alistair king, mostly bc of her daughter (her daughter is the only heir to the throne of ferelden, and basically she doesn't even know that prim is her real mother, mostly bc anora adopted her bc alistair and she couldn't have children), sometimes, in her alone saddest times, thinks how things would have been if alistair was still a grey warden, they would have a happy family and wouldn't even had to hide inofensive stuff like a cheek kiss. but anyway, her duties as a grey warden are more important and doesn't have time to think about it. garrett hawke: he regrets not defending carver, he would have prefered to sacrifice himself instead of any of his siblings. he also regrets going to the deep roads with bethany, letting the grey wardens make her one of them (obv he doesn't know that if he didn't she would have joined the circle lmao). and obv her mother's death... if he had been there, with her mother, he could have done something... :'/ maia: she regrets not being strong enough when that shem tried to hurt her when she was a litte girl, that made her mother kill him to save her bc she was too defenseless, she should have been stronger, that caused her mother and she part ways, because now maia's mother was a criminal and she had more proabilities of getting caught, so maia should go on her way and find the next village, but she found the lavellan clan. she deeply regrets not going after her mother. she also think she was too stupid to not found out the true identity of solas and try to convince him that this world has meaning :'/ 23. do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon? mmmm... no? :/, i like my decisions to have consequences?? 24. are any of your characters based on someone? sahgdashsd pls don't make fun of me but in the first stage of prim's/anika's 'personality creation' was inspired by mother gothel, then she was inspired by...... mikasa ackerman dsfgdjsdf, i'm still inspired by that character tHO i know that shingeki no kyojin is nazi propaganda and i no longer watch that anime lmao. maia is inspired by... a mix of me and rapunzel (from tangled)?? she's basically a shy rapunzel :') 25. who did you leave in the fade? some of you will hate me bc i had to choose between hawke and stroud but i still chose hawke dsfgsdf. m8, hawke is just a 'figure' who isn't widely recognized in thedas, while the grey warden are 394789x more useful, idk i always put myself in the shoes of my characters even if their decisions hurt me (tho, tbqh, i'm not tHAT attached to hawke so this choice was easy lol) 26. favourite mount? royal sixteen!! she's so pretty!! ♡♡♡ thanks for tagging me!! ♡♡

a list of characters from dragon age i will defend until i die:
Goldanna (oh no! she doesn’t trust/instantly love a stranger who shows up claiming to be her brother!! how will poor alibaby survive? how drae she be bitter after being kicked out following her mothers death and forced to survive on her own as a child!! boohoo)
Queen Anora the One True Monarch of Ferelden (god, how dare a competent ruler who knows what shes doing want to maintain her throne! what a bitch! and what, what a backstabber, lying about being kidnapped after we tell loghain’s men shes with us when she just got done telling us she was in disguise because she doesnt want loghain’s men to find her. ugh! my poor listening skills are totally her fault)
Isolde (I’d need to explain why I hate Eamon to say why I like Isolde but while I dont forgive her for how she treated Alistair I sympathize with her and think the situation in Redcliffe is actually Eamons fault ngl)
Branka (heavily implied she went insane because of how becoming a paragon made her more of an icon instead of a person and that when she says “I am your paragon” its her giving into the role of someone who only lives for the dwarven people - again I dont forgive her actions but I want to acknowledge how she was affected by being put on a pedestal)
Loghain (a man abandoned a doomed military operation and a king who refused to attend tactical meetings in favor of pestering the wardens for stories because he was more concerned with glory than making sure his men had the best chance? the nerve. and now he doesnt want to accept help from the imperialistic nation that raped his mother in front of him (after threatening to kill him, a little boy, to get her to comply) and then bashed her skull in (again, in front of him), saw beat unarmed farmers to death,. etc etc, that he risked life and limb to gain independence from, watching friends die for the same cause? the nation that he knows “helped” nevarra during the 2nd blight only to take it over rigth after? how obtuse.)
Bhelen (he honestly loves Rica to the point where he felt safe crying in front of her after his dad died, when asked about fathers death he says “father just couldn’t live without you, implying jealousy re: the fact that bhelen is canonically the unfavorite of Endrin’s children, he forces Orzammar to give up the traditions that are strangling it, and in the Descent DLC (if you played an Aeducan) we find out that he hasnt given up on searching for the warden (whereas harrowmont does) after they go to find a cure for the calling, and (if the warden was a dwarf) spared no expense on the wardens paragon statue (whereas harrowmont cuts corners with the costs and is probably jealous)
Velanna (obv not NT and she Gets Better and her resolution to create new culture for the dalish is admirable)
Merrill (she’s not dumb. she knows what shes doing. nothing wouldve gone wrong if it wasnt for the fact that Marethari refused to leave her be. everything is maretharis fault. the eluvian isnt evil, its a tool. an object. morrigan fixed an eluvian and no one calls her an idiot.)
Fenris (hes a survivor of slavery, abuse, and rape. i think hes entitled to a little bitterness and distrust even if i disagree with what he says)
Gamlen (this is like. the one im least passionate about but. he had no obligation to leandra. she ran way. he had no reason to think she was coming back. and hes right to be bitter that his parents only cared about leandra when he was taking care of them until the day they died. and when he asks leandra to clean hes right to say she can help out a little. she isnt a noblewoman anymore. theyre in poverty. if she wanted to have the kind of life where she didnt have to lift a finger she shouldnt have ran off with malcolm.)
Sebastian Vael (hes literally the least preachy chantry faithful character ever?? he suggest dalish beliefs and chantry beliefs arent neccesarily incompatible. he doesnt shame isabela or try to get her to repent. he offers fenris a job despite his being an elf. he acknowledges that “preaching seldom works”. he tells tallis that he knows the chantry has failed the elves. hes very wise and open minded. he just isnt willing to tolerate a terrorist)
Carver (he has an inferiority complex due to his father’s (neccesary) neglect. cut him slack.)
Sera (she has a right to resent people who treat her like crap - the dalish can be nasty to city elves. she says in trespasser that they made her feel “broken”. and she matures a lot in trespasser so shut up.)
Vivienne (she cares a lot about mages. thats why she hates the rebel mages. theyve killed people. theyve killed other mages. theyve made the common man afraid of them, made them hate them. as divine she gives mages both freedom and responsibility and keeps the templars on a tight leash. shes passionate about this issue because she believes in the circles. shes also one of people who goes out of her way to make sure the inquisitor is feeling okay after stressful events. she is very compassionate. and nasty to people who are nasty to her. thats her right.)
Solas (too long for this post)
Blackwall (hes trying)
Celene (long drawn out sigh)
Calpernia (do i really need to)
Clarel (let me BE)
Fiona
Alexius
Mayor Gregory Dedrick
Mistress Poulin
Characters I will berate until I die:
Alistair (I dont HATE him I just thinks hes a little selfish and needs to get over Ostagar and start taking responsibility and thinking more about others)
Eamon (UGH. UGH!! Sexist traditionalist asshole. Wants to use Alistair as a puppet. Married a girl years younger than him. Probably knew Connor was a mage and did nothing because hes so concerned with blood! what the fuck)
Harrowmont (he isnt nice. hes a conservative. those things arent nice. he level dust town if you give him golems. he refuses outside support for orzammar that he desperately needs)
Anders (UGH. its not even just the terrorist bit! hes an asshole to EVERYONE. he tries to “educate” merrill on chantry beliefs. implies shes stupid for not accepting what the circle spoonfed him. and then expects her and other dalish mages to care abotu circle mages. he calls isabela a “side dish”. he compares fenris, a former slave that has survived rape and abuse, to an animal and constantly antagonizes him, going as far to ask why he didnt kill himself. he calls aveline an idiot on multiple occasions. he tells a city elf warden that “you dont get locked up for who you are” when. hello. alienages?? aight. doesnt give a damn about elf oppression, just mages. hes an asshole. the terrorism is just icing on the shit flavored cake.)

Here is the second part of @smalllemonade‘s questions for Mir because they’re too good to ignore and I finally had time to sit down and finishing answering them. <3 Thanks again, because seriously. I love all these questions a lot. :D
18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?
Good question! I ...honestly haven't thought about much of Mir's future because DA4 will make it all moot or just very sad. /shrugs That being said, kind of person he possibly could/will become I can definitely work with. Developmental path he'd go down is actually recovery, finally! From Mahrenan, from everything the Inquisition threw at him, from losing his arm and the anchor, just, there's a lot and Mir needs to chill and finally deal with it. I mean, he does want to save Solas and plans to, but once again devoting all his time and resources to one major thing of his life isn't going to help. Mainly because I see 'i'll show you the world can be saved' as Mir promising to find the unignorably good and beautiful things in his world. To do that, Mir kinda needs to let his life be his for awhile. You know?
That's what I see as his best path he could take. Let Mir finally be Mir, not Mahrenan's brother, not the Herald/Inquisitor, not Solas' redeemer. Let him be a Red Jenny for fun, let him be an alchemist with Dagna, let him hang out with the Chargers and Bull, chat with Dorian and not have the world hang over his head for once. And it's the path I want him to take it. I really truly want him to save Solas not with an army or conventional means, but by offering him a view of this world he can't brush off. For that to happen, Mir needs to expand his horizon and see more of the world imo.
Worst (and possibly most likely?), ah. Simply burning out completely. Kid just needs a break. Keeping up the pace he's been going at after all he's been through, ah. He'll burn out, fast and hard, and it will be ugly.
19. How do they behave within a group? What role(s) do they take? Does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? Why?
Mir prefers being more of a follower to a leader, tbh. It was one of the traits his momma offered as 'this is how you don't confuse mahre and mir'. Mahre imitates, but Mir follows. It didn't help anyone though.
But, obviously, isn't the truth 100% anymore. If he's within a group that he's not acquainted with or just a more general one, he finds it easier to relax and play support for a bit (support that includes recon and explosions~). It's the least stressful option though he'll still butt heads with the planners/leaders because he's used to making decisions as well. Also, he can't bite his tongue to save his life.
With his trusted bffs for life group, eh. He still prefers getting their opinions and ideas instead of relaying on him all every chance they have. Because that's not planning, imo! He's just the one that makes decisions and sticks with his choices, for better or for worse. <3
24. How do they present themselves socially? What distinguishes their “persona” from their “true self”, and what causes that difference?
As an talkative emotional space cadet? Like, that's basically who Mir is anyways to a degree. I'm sure he tries a few times to be a more ...traditional Herald/Inquisitor, but it sits on his skin all wrong. It's not who he is. Firstly, because no thanks. Secondly, he acts while he thinks so most plans are easier thrown out the window.
It's a still a persona though. Mir's "true self" is more toned down than what people in the Inquisition typically see. It isn't that he tries a lot, but he's more used to aggressively being louder to be noticed. He forgets he can still be noticed even if he takes it down a few notches. Also, his "true self" is a bit more open about his vulnerabilities and shitty feelings while his persona is like 'nay it's golden don't mind me~!' Gotta let yourself be sad sometimes.
27. What do they strongly like and dislike, in any category? Why?
Strongly is Mir's middle name, basically, hah. Ah! Okay! I talked about it briefly (kinda) in another question but respect & honesty are big things to Mir because he's used to not getting either. He honestly adores people (and probably has had a crush on a good chuck of Skyhold because everyone is so good and nice and wow). He also likes learning in general and experimenting too, normally with chemicals and the like, making explosions~. Because it's just fun and he has the mind for it.
Dislikes, ah. People and/or organizations obvs treating anyone like shit. It goes against his respect thing. While he's alright with Andraste, he can't stand the Chantry or its Templars and he'd honestly prefer to burn it to the ground completely and then steal its foundation too because kid ain't taking no chances. None! He really isn't fond of going underground either, because of a nasty event when he was a kid when he got stuck in an old cave that possibly also was part of the Deep Roads for a few days. That's less a dislike though and more of a deliberating fear. Descent was not his DLC for this reason. :l Darkspawn fall into this dislike/fear category too because of that event. Mir was sure he was going to be eaten or worse, and the feeling hasn't really left him yet.
Oh, and pants. He vastly prefers skirts and dresses and leggings. No-Pants-Friday is a serious cause he'd put his soul into.
29. What kind of activities, interests, and hobbies do they have? What significance and impact do these have in their lives, both positive and negative?
So! I have a dumb little headcanon Mir and Rocky started an Explosions Club of sorts, sharing secrets and tips and just using them out in the Frostbacks (explosions on a mountain, guys, please stop). Dagna joins up too (exchanted explosions, guys, so good), and then Sera because is a Tempest too (which is how her and Dagna met) and then Dorian because he probably played 'i don't trust anyone of you' card but secretly, he likes a bit of chaos and talking magic with Dagna and Mir.
It's a really cute club, don't ever take it from me. :'l
Thing is despite Mir's own belief on the matter, kid is really smart. His mind just speeds ahead of his mouth, so he stumbles over reading and talking and people take that to mean the worst. But he sincerely loves to learn and experiment and have fun with the world. His room at Skyhold constantly has odd little (very dangerous please don't touch) experiments in it. It's just a good stress relief for him. One that does sadly rob him of his hearing in chucks because he's often far too close and exposed to his creations and custom-made Tempest flasks.
Another headcanon I have though is Rocky, Dagna and another OC of mine teach Mir a bit of Orzammar sign language because needs to be a thing that exists in general and Mir's frequent handling of grenades in close proximity of himself has fucked up a bit of his hearing and it's just helpful to know.
Again, don't ever take it from me. :'l <3
Mir also likes singing? Like, he sings a lot. He's definitely a performer at heart. In a modern AU, he'd be a chemistry student who does street performances on the side. Mir Lavellan~.
32. Already answered over here. <3
39. What sort of questions or thoughts recur in their lives, either specifically or as a theme? Why are these never answered, or answered permanently to their satisfaction?
On the more deeper end: Am I good? Was I right? Is this real? Mir... doesn't trust his memories absolutely. He often finds himself wondering if he truly is the person Mahre said he was deep down, if he is a liar constructing vast fantasies for the sake of his own ego. Mir, doesn't think that's true but he honestly doesn't know if that's entirely false either and he's honestly never going to know for certain. It's weird. He doesn't like these thoughts but they do exist all the same time.
It continues on even in Inquisition too. Did I make the right choice? Am I remembering this correctly? Etc, etc. It's why he's so steadfast in sticking with his choices. He may internally (and externally to the people he trusts) question himself, but he's sure as shit not going to backtrack over them. He made a choice. It's done. Move on.
40. What do they wonder about? What sparks their curiosity and imagination, and why? How is this expressed, if it is?
Kid wonders about everything. He's amazingly curious space cadet. Most of his internal filter keeps his sad thoughts about Mahre at bay, so everything else? It comes to surface fast~. Mir just asks a lot of questions, about the world, about people, about magic, about all cultures, all ranging for good to bad to the seriously wtf.
One of the things he wonders about and really enjoys learning about is other culture’s folktales too? Like he thinks it a good way to get a better view of them and what they’re about so he pokes his companions to tell about them about. It’s how he learned about the tooth thing from Bull, but he also poked Cassandra about Nevarran folkstories and Josie about Antiva and Dorian about Tevinter. It’s just fascinating to him. He loves them dearly.
He just likes to know, likes to expand his horizons and find something new to see and how else can you do that besides asking? /shrugs!

DWC: 60. Bowling night, Solavellan
Sorry thisone has taken me so long! Apparently a lot of alcohol was needed to me to comeup with it x.X This is from Duck Pond, and takes place immediately afterchapter 13… Which no one gets to read for quite some time. So, spoilers? Enjoy, and thank you for the prompt!
Edit: Fic was updated to reflect Max’s name change.for @dadrunkwriting
Lane chosen, rented shoes on her feet, balls waiting in the ball-return-thingie, Elle andher BFF 5-EVA/cousin Max were sitting in the plastic seats bolted to the floorof the bowling alley, waiting for her friends to arrive.
Unfortunately,Varric was the first to arrive. Not unfortunate because Elle didn’t like him oranything, it was just that she hadn’t seen him since the night they met, andhad only spoken via email or text. She was hoping Solas would get there first, and act as a buffer.
Varric didn’tshow up alone, either—he brought a date. She was a pretty dwarf, flowers in hercopper hair and a smile on her face. She seemed excited, but nervous, which wasunderstandable; apparently it was their first date. And Varric had brought herto go bowling with a group of friends he barely knew. The poor girl.
After Ellemade her introductions, to prevent an awkward silence Max said, “I know Varric’sa lawyer; what do you do, Marigold?”
“Oh, nothingspecial. I’m a waitress-slash-bartender. Most of the time.”
“Where at?”Elle asked.
“All over.” Shegiggled. “I work at a staffing and temp agency, so my schedule is all over theplace, too. I’m glad I was able to be here today, though!”
“Me, too,”Varric said quietly, and the two lovebirds shared a look, Marigold smiling aclosed little smile.
It wasadorable. And a little weird to witness. Elle hoped they weren’t going to startmaking out or anything.
“Well, you mustknow the area pretty well. I’m pretty new around here, and I’m always down fortrying new restaurants. Any that I should check out?”
And so theconversation turned to places around town. Evidently, Varric and Marigold hadboth lived here their wholes lives, on separate sides of town, so theircombined knowledge was pretty thorough. Max, though, neither lived here norwould be visiting long enough to be interested in the conversation, so she wasquiet.
Eventually Max, thetroll who liked to respond to feeling awkward by making everyone feel awkward, asked “So,there’s a bit of an age gap between you, right? I bet you’ve been marriedbefore, Varric. Do you usually go after older men, Marigold?”
“Oh! Well…”
“Marigold,you don’t have to—”
“Andi!” Ellereprimanded Max, who only shrugged.
“Elle!” Thisone came from Dagna, entering the bowling alley. “Sorry I’m late!”
“ThankMythal…” Elle grumbled, rising to her feet to greet the newest dwarf (who she’dexpected to be late. Dagna was always late.). Introductions preventeddiscussing whether or not Elle’s kinda-sorta-boss was a silver fox, much to herrelief.
By the timeElle finished, Max was already hitting on Dagna, as she was wont to do.
Dagna did not seem to mind.
Elle lookedhelplessly between the two flirting couples, and left with an eye roll to goget some fries from the food court.
“Are thoseorganic?” Came a sonorous voice from behind her as she went to return to herlane moments later, fries in hand. She stopped to let Solas catch up as he continued, “Isuppose you’ll tell me the floors are made of reclaimed wood? That the kineticforce of the bowling balls rolling down the lanes is somehow gathered to powerthe light?”
Weird. She’d missed him in the, like, twelve hours since she’d seen him last. She was becoming a bit clingy, it seemed.
“Don’t Iwish,” she answered, nudging his body with hers as he got to her. It was goodto have him there. “It’s just a plain old bowling alley, I’m afraid. Max likesto bowl. Probably because she enjoys how much I suck at it. You’re late.”
“Myapologies. The store was not open as early as I’d hoped.” He lifted the bags inhis hands, indicating his purchases.
“Are those…Did you seriously go out and buy bowling shoes? You’re supposed to rent shoes,no one actually buys them!”
“I am notabout to stick my feet in rented shoes, thank you. And no, I do not care howmuch disinfectant the spray them with. “ He snuck a fry off her plate. “Are youenjoying your time with Max? Her flight leaves this afternoon, correct?”
“Yeah…” shegrumbled. “I’m going to miss her ugly butt. Though she’s kind being a painright now… I think I forced too many new people on her this weekend. I’ll tryto keep it lowkey next time she visits. Right now I’m tempted to just leave herhere… What do you say we go run off together?”
“Thatprobably would not be fair to Max,” he answered. Some part of Elle was weirdlydisappointed—it wasn’t as if she didn’t see Solas all the time. “Would yousettle for dinner tonight, after she departs? I will cook, since you did allthe cooking last night.”
“It’s afriend date,” Elle agreed happily (and oddly relieved) as they joined theirfriends.
From theball-return-thingie, Max held an off-white bowling ball aloft. “Look, it looksjust like you, Cue Ball! It’s about the same size, too!”
Elle groanedbut Solas only laughed, well used to the abuse already. Overhead, she saw Varricinputting their names into the computer that would keep track of their scores. TheTV monitor read:
VARRIC
SWEET<3
CHUCKLES
WARRIOR
2DAMAX
MME CURIE
Well, ithadn’t taken him long to come up with nicknames for everyone, it seemed.
The dwarfclapped his hands. “Let’s bowl!”
Warrior is Elle, of course. 2 da Max is Max obv, and Madame Curie is Dagna (I couldn’t think of another well-known female ‘mad scientist’).
#this is actually bowling morning#not bowling night#oops#dwc#solavellan#also some varigold#modern varigold#because I miss them#I have prompts for them#but can't do them yet because of reasons#was this supposed to actually include bowling?#elle lavellan#solas#my fics#tumblr exclusive#duck pond#prompted
