I think Chopper uses they/he/it, but slightly prefers to be referred to by their name rather than pronouns

Chopper has attachment issues, but I couldn’t find anything other than avoidant attachment disorder (which doesn’t seem entirely fitting). But it definitely gets very attached to others when it trusts them and has a hard time moving on.

Also I just like to draw Chopper more reindeer-like than Chopper’s canon design but aside from that I don’t really make too many design changes? Just… floofy Chopper… 🩷🩷🩷

i was thinking about some scenes from s1 that could be recontextualized in a v interesting way with did theory:

mike giving el his 'friendship watch', considering that only he and will wear that exact same model

lucas teasing mike at the schoolground about how he acts around el and how he only pays attention to her now

plus other little moments in s1 that otherwise are still up in the air (is it heteronormative confusion? extra accurate projection? both? /hj)

Oooooh yes! Honestly viewing El's interactions with the party (and specifically Mike) through the DID theory lens is just very interesting.

(This theory also explains how El somehow knew who Will is...)

El doesn't want "mom" to know about what happened because she was likely threatened into silence by "bad people". This is exactly what I believe Will went through... hence the "I'm gonna kill you!" being the last words spoken to him prior to his disappearance...

Mike is almost immediately protective of El. He also is the first one to trust her. There's something about her that he is drawn to... not romantically though. But she bares resemblance to Will. Mike knows Will quite well so I do think he saw aspects of his best friend within her.

I think Mike giving El the watch also symbolizes Mike giving time. I do think Mike is frequently associated with time (always running late, "Wheeler" = wheels of time, Dustin goes to Mike for "a ride" while we see the Delorean on screen... etc).

It's funny because the way he was treating El was nearly exactly how he treats Will normally. But Lucas doesn't see it that way because of heteronormativity.

We all pretty much agree that Mike has been projecting his feeling for Will unto El. She is, the perfect "sub" for Will. El shares many similarities with Will and she's a girl so it's socially acceptable for Mike to "like" her. She's also a "blank slate". She magically emerges after Will vanishes, and after she vanishes, he re-appears. They "swap places".

The way I see it is this: Will has been bullied relentlessly for appearing gay and feminine. So the night he "vanished", he "split" into two... a boy and a girl. The girl, of course, representing the feminine side that he has been pressured to repress. El is Will's Jungian anima aka his female self (credit to @byler-invested for this!). El is also his protector and gatekeeper alter, she controls access to the gate and holds his repressed memories...

So, basically, this changes the perception I have of Mlvn. Mike is currently in a relationship (or was...) with an aspect of Will. Not Will as a whole, but an extension of him. Obviously this isn't working out, Mike wants to be with the complete Will.

This is why I believe El will "disappear" in the end but not die... she and Will will become whole again...

Wilma's lore (+ some bonus stuff): explained

Wilma Afton (more commonly known as Dr. W or Dr. W. Afton) was born on March, 1919. Her mother is Japanese whilst her father is American. Her voice claim is Pearl from Steven universe

Wilma grew up not showing much interest in other people/making friends. She preferred to study and do schoolwork instead of talking to others. She took a particular interest in science. This continues for most of her life, then she reaches Year 6 (Approx. 11-12 years old), where she meets Michael Stone.

Wilma starts having a rivalry with her fellow classmate Michael. They often debate about things and found a thrill on competing against each other. They constantly tried to show who was smarter than who.

As they grow up, they realise they had feelings for each other (took them long enough wth), and Michael confesses to Wilma when the two are in university (The two were approx. 18-22 years old and the year was approx. 1937-1941.)

Growing up back in the day, Wilma was often discriminated due to her gender. Her ideas were often pushed aside or stolen and credited to others. This obviously saddened her because she wanted to be recognised as a great mind in science, so having this happen to her truly broke her heart (my poor baby omg).

Wilma just wanted someone to listen to her ideas, and that's when she met Keppler.

Keppler is a government agent who was always on the lookout for unique minds. When she noticed Wil, she was very interested in her ideas and genuinely listened. She offered to sponsor Wil until she got her honours degrees, and you know very well there was no way Wilma would've said no.

Wilma and Keppler has a special mother-daughter bond. Wilma was sometimes viewed as Keppler's lap dog, and that was lowkey true (sorry Wil someone had to say it) because she would've done anything for her. (More detail here)

Unfortunately, in early 1942 Wilma (approx 23 years old) ended up being sent to a Japanese internment camp along with her mother. She didn't really participate in community things and just accepted that this was 'typical human paranoia.' The experience did end up contributing to her misanthropic (a general dislike/hate towards society) tendencies. She was still dating Michael, and he was quite worried about her (awww <3).

In mid 1942, Wilma (and her mother) were set free early after the mixed-marriage policy was implemented (check out Joy's og post for that (link here)). Since Wilma's father was white, she got away with leaving camp grounds early and went back to America.

1945 (the worlds cooked) was the year when Keppler offered Wilma (approx. 26) a job as the lead researcher for her new project (called The Trojan Horse Project) Wilma was obviously excited and very keen to start working on it. (If only she knew smh)

After a while, she did realise how dangerous the job was. Making human doppelgängers was not exactly the best job you could pick, but Wilma trusted that Keppler knew what she was doing, so she continues anyway. It was ending peoples lives and Keppler even got doppelgängers to kill Nathaniel Rudboys (Stephanie's father) due to him being against the project.

When the year was 1950 Wilma and Michael were 31. They were on their usual dates when Mike brings up getting married (like c'mon dude they were dating for almost 10 years atp and they were in their 30s). Wilma lies saying she's not ready, but she was just saying that to 'keep Mike safe.' She believed that if Michael knew about her job then Keppler would've threatened to kill him. She didn't need Michael knowing about her job (im genuinely curious how this woman has kept it secret for 10 years like c'mon Wil what's your secret to keeping your secret.). Michael then opens up, saying he knew about her job already (DAMNN PLOT TWISTTT), and then he proposes to her (oh if you want the full proposal story the link is here).

Wilma's only acquainted with the neighbours in the apartment and they don't know her actual name, they just call her Dr. W or something similar (more detail here)

So yeah, that's all I got so far. Tell me if you want me to attempt to explain another character's/characters' lore story :D

Leo rebellion arc/J ( honestly maybe)

I had an idea /fic idea where Leo sneaked out of the bionic island after having a bit of a argument .decided to take Logan and Taylor along (because um they’re a team Hshshs) with a bit of convincing which I don’t think Leo would have any trouble with it >:3.(I would like to think that this would be during when Leo created the team and before Taylor became blind). Just imagine them arriving at the mainland and having fun? Maybe going to a park or getting late night ice cream? Or doing anything dangerous >:]( i would like to think they would bring Marcus along as well ) ( he’s been rebuilt and reprogrammed because yes) the only problem would be chase waking up due to his senses/bionic hearing .I absolutely love those fics where the bionic siblings are protective of Leo ( I know they’re protective of each other and I know Leo can protect themselves) (he/they pronouns for Leo because yes) ANYWAYS i just find it very interesting when reading things like that . Very wholesome. I would like to think that Douglas would be the first one to catch Leo trying to sneak out ( probably due to staying up late to work on a project)but doesn’t say anything instead he would try to cover for leo ( he understands the kid )So obviously when chase notice that Leo is gone , Douglas immediately would come up with something to cover leo absence.( oouh Leo gonna be in trouble/J)

Behold, another piece of fanart that I’ve kept pushing back until now.

I was planning on drawing this earlier back in January, but some complications occurred with both IbisPaint and my tablet once again, and one mishap after another, half of my files for the art got wiped somehow when my tablet crashed for the 104897th time, and I had to start from scratch.

A very similar problem occurred with one of my Pride Month pics from last year, and this time I just said, “screw it, I can’t be bothered to finish this���, and took a long-ass break and moved on to other art projects. Eventually, I did come around and finished it in the end.

2023 was honestly just a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. It started off bad, then it was eh, and it ended… not really great good per se, but decent. I had to miss out on a lot of art projects because I was doing online school at that time, but since I graduated way back in June, I have a lot of free time on my hands and I have a lot of exciting plans in the future ^o^

One positive of this year I have so far is that I finally watched the Super Mario Movie. As per tradition of me being slower than molasses, I watched the movie on Netflix, and I absolutely LOVED it! The whole movie was literally what little me imagined a Mario movie would be like, and the movie just was a whole lot of fun. I especially loved the references/easter eggs in the movie, I was just fangirling so much 😭

And once the DK Rap came on I just started singing along like there was no tomorrow. And funny story, at one point, my mom actually walked by my room, overheard my singing, and gave me a funny look as if she thought I was going crazy, which she wasn’t wrong/hj

I could go on and on about how I love this movie, but we’d be here all day, so I’ll just say my two absolute favorite things about this movie. My first fave is obviously Peach, I’m so happy that my girl isn’t being portrayed as a damsel-in-distress, and is instead an active team leader, she was just absolutely iconic. And my second favorite thing is Bowser. Jack Black has always been one of my favorite actors/comedians, so it was a perfect decision for Illumination to have him voice Bowser. He’s the perfect blend of comedic and threatening, he gave me a lot of Hades from Hercules vibes haha

As for the art, I went with the dark-skinned, red-haired version of Bowsette, which imo is better than the regular version. One, it makes sense to give her dark skin because she lives in a place that’s nothing but fire and lava, and two, Bowser is canonically a ginger not a blondie lol

And for Peach, I drew her in her movie dress but also combined it with her winter/holiday earmuffs and cloak. Also wanted to give her the Princess Peach Showtime bow because I’m still hyped for that game >:3

Here’s to hoping this year will be great, good, or at the very least decent 🎉

Seth's take on his Project#4 OCs

` PFARR ; He was the first character to be made in this story, also the main protagonist — so obviously I love him so very much. I still wish he could have taken a different path in life (Even tho I'm literally the one who made his ending). However, I definitely think that his ending was inescapable, it was written all over him that he wouldn't get the ending he really wanted. Upon reading my initial drafts, I noticed how much I've changed in writing style, but I also realized how many similarities we both have (lmao), AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. I felt most connected to his character so it was painful writing his character.

` GORAN ; Second made character, I thought of him as a bit sinister at first but he eventually grew on me and became more human. His character was inspired by my closest friend and my now boyfriend (If you ever see this, ily). I think both Pfarr and Goran are likely to be misunderstood by people if ever I had a fandom in this story (lol), but Goran is possibly the character who'll be misunderstood because of how he was mainly the reason for Pfarr's disintegration. Overall, I felt more comfortable in writing his character than the rest. He's basically a comfort oc XD.

' RIO ; My robot baby. He's a character me and @atlachilles made, mostly has my friend's characteristics in him. I think he's a really great symbol of humans who have experienced trauma growing up, being deprived of the concept of their humanity that convinces them that they're not human enough to live a normal life — when in reality, they have the same essence of 'humans' inside of them. Rio was made for the purpose of becoming a scientist in some Area 51 location, but little did he know that his creator actually wanted a child so he then made Rio, out of love and yearning for a family. He's probably the second character after Pfarr that hurts me the most. LIVE LAUGH LOVE RIO!

' MM (not putting his full name cuz it's corny) ; A manifestation of Pfarr's loneliness and desire of having a protector after losing Goran, who played a big role in being his support system. Very intense, manipulative and #1 self-indulgent asshole. His main purpose is to protect Pfarr but can become rebellious and end up doing things out of his own desire (often leading to harming Pfarr). Manifested last, in short; he's the youngest alter. Of course, the youngest are always the most unbearable shits/hj. I personally think he's definitely the most fucked asshole out of all of them, literally abused Rio for his own pleasure even tho both Pfarr and Father disagreed on further harming the boy. Although he's the youngest, he was the first alter I ever made for Pfarr. I definitely had the most fun in writing his chaotic character.

' Father ; The acting guardian parent for Pfarr. He was first an imaginary friend of Pfarr but he then became manifested as an alternate personality from the time Pfarr lost the trust he had for his parents. Strict and a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the rules he had built but can't seem to take control of MM because of MM's stubborn and stronger personality. Spends a lot more with Pfarr the most. I literally just had a better idea of his character just a while ago but I'm already fond of him. I had the biggest urge to make an e1 character the other day and so I've decided that instead of making a new one — I'll have an old character instead to put my urges on heh.

Another ridiculous day has passed, as you waited for the rest of your group to show up at the agreed meeting spot. Only you and Jisung had shown up on time while the others texted their excuses as to why they were late. You were busy staring up at the sky, as Jisung sat on the bench typing away at his laptop; headphones on, bobbing his head to whatever song played in the background. 

You leaned over to peep at his laptop to see what he was listening to, noticing that you recognized the program he was using, it was the same Kitty used when making music. 

“Are you working on a song?” you asked after poking his arm lightly to get his attention. He took out one headphone to hear you.

“Uh.. yeah.” he says shyly as he scratches the back of his head.

“Is it for a class?”

“No, no. This is a personal project,” he says as he clicks away on his keyboard a few times. “I’m just working on the beat for now, lyrics are a work in progress.” He looks at you quickly and back to his laptop. “Do you.. Do you wanna hear it?”

“I don’t think I’d be much help. I don’t know anything about composing music. Kitty tried to teach me once and it didn’t go over well.” You laugh awkwardly remembering all of the words Kitty threw at you as if you knew what she was talking about.

“It’s ok, it’s just the beat. You.. uh.. You don't have to listen if you don’t want to though…”

You wave your hands frantically, “no, no really. I’d love to listen if you’d like to share.”

Jisung gave you a huge smile and passed you his headphones, playing the beat for you. It was a very calming beat, with a soft piano opening. The song gave off calm, cozy, lofi vibes. There were no lyrics but you felt yourself calming down while listening to the soft beat, lightly bopping your head, a small smile gracing your lips, and your eyes closing to focus on the beat. Jisung was watching you very carefully, after all this was the song he was writing because of you; well it started off for himself, but quickly it became your song. He watched the small bobbing of your head, your brows knitting together, and the smile growing on your lips as you listened to it. He felt relieved that you were reacting so well to his song. 

“Will you add lyrics to it?” 

He quickly looks away from you, and you notice the slight blush to his cheeks. “I- I have a few I just don’t know where all of it is gonna fit in you know?”

“Can I see-”  Jisung’s eyes bug out of his head as he scratches the back of his head again, frantically looking anywhere but at you. “-or not it's up to you!” You try to save the conversation, obviously you just made an error in asking.

“No!” he yells and you immediately get disappointed. “No, I mean yes; uh- I-'' Jisung keeps making weird hand gestures as if he's trying to pick the correct words out of thin air. “Yeah you can see them sorry, I usually don’t show people but feedback is always good!” He quickly pulls a beaten up notebook out of his backpack and opens it to a page with scribbled lyrics and doodles scattered across the page. He hands you the book shyly, you carefully take it in your hands and examine the lyrics he wrote.

In the quiet tunnel, you with the sports car, the noisy engine blares

I'm rambling noisily, as it's my first time having these emotions too, so I'm still

You look up at him after you read the words and give him a huge smile. “These are really nice Jisung!”

“Oh, thank you- I uh, kind of just write how I feel and hope for the best.” Jisung smiles, a blush dusting over his cheeks, and rubbing at the back of his neck, unable to make eye contact with you.

“Well, whoever this lucky person is, I’m sure they’re going to love it Jisung, honestly this is really good so far!” You say as you give him a genuine smile. You’re not gonna lie to yourself, you wish someone wrote things like that about you. His words were so sweet and you could feel the sincerity in it. Jisung is lowkey freaking out next to you, incredibly flustered by your praise. 

“Yeah she’s uh- well.” You look up at him as he begins his sentence, he quickly looks away from you and at his feet. “I’m still getting used to things, who knows maybe she’ll hate it or maybe she won’t, maybe I won’t even show her.” You lean back on your palms, looking back up at the sky; carefully choosing your next words. Jisung couldn’t help but admire the way you looked, the sun beaming down on you, the wind gently moving your hair. Your eyes wide as you stared up at the clouds that gently rolled by.

“I think, if you choose to show her; it would be nice. I mean what girl doesn’t want an entire song written for them?” You giggle, “I don’t think she’ll hate it. The lyrics are coming along beautifully, and if she does for some reason react badly, well she wasn’t worth it and clearly doesn’t have taste.” Jisungs jaw basically drops to the floor, quickly turning his head away from you to quietly scream. He tries to compose himself as best as he can before faking a coughing fit. 

“If someone were to uh-” Jisung thinks of his next words very carefully. “If someone were to do this for you, how would you feel? Wouldn’t you think it’s like.. Too much or something?” You look up to the sky as you carefully think about your answer. 

“I think- I think I'd be a little surprised at first. I mean, it’s not like I’ve ever had a song written about or for me before-” You look down and fiddle with your fingers. “But I don’t think I’d react badly about it, it’s a sweet gesture, and if the song is as good as yours I’d be dumb not to appreciate it, you know?” You look at Jisung and notice the hint of surprise on his face, and you quickly cover yourself up to try and make light of your seriousness. “Unless the guy is a total tool. Now that would be unfortunate.” 

“What if-” Jisung started, but he was immediately cut off by Hyunjin sneaking up behind him, yelling in order to scare him. 

“MY FUCKING STARS HOW ARE YOU TODAY?” Hyunjin yells from behind you both, making both you and Jisung startle in your seats on the bench. 

“Do you ever- not yell?” Mini groans as she finally makes her way up beside him, “I have a fucking migraine please for the love of god; shut the fuck up.” 

“So grumpy,” Hyunjin mumbles, pouting from Mini yelling at him.

“You see this face I’m making right now? This will always be your sign, to shut the fuck up.” 

“Never fuck with Mini when she has a migraine. It doesn’t end pretty for anyone.” You say as you shiver at the very unpleasant memory of the attack she launched on you after accidentally setting her off.

“Now, where the fuck are the others.” Mini groans, placing her camera down on the bench; as she begins to lay on the grass. 

“On their way now, we can set up-” Hyunjin starts, but Mini gives him a look of disgust, “I can set up, so that we’re ready for this next scene.” 

“Which scene are we doing again?” You ask and immediately regret the question when Mini shoots daggers at you from her spot on the grass. She’s definitely gonna beat your ass later for not remembering what scene you were shooting. 

“The confession scene, falling into the kiss, and then into our villain trying to ruin things.” Hyunjin says as he begins prepping the equipment. The rest of your friends start arriving one by one. Something finally clicks in Jisung’s head and his cheeks immediately turn bright red. I HAVE TO KISS HER TODAY?! He thought to himself. He starts trying to busy himself with things around him, his nerves getting the better of him.

“You okay there HanJi?” Minho laughs, as he witnesses Jisung’s expression, “Don’t tell me our little Y/N is going to pop your first kiss cherry today!” 

“She’s not popping my- what?” Jisung pauses, staring at Minho. 

“So why do you look like you’ve got the ultimate sunburn on that pretty little face of yours huh?” Minho asks, poking one of Jisung’s cheeks. 

“Just got a strange text that's all..” Jisung says, obviously trying to cover up his small freak out. 

“Was it spicy? If it was, I want all the details.” You turn around and smack Minho in the shoulder. “What!? Maybe he’s got a secret girlfriend or something! I want to know!” 

“Can we just get this the fuck over with? I want to go home.” Mini grumbles from the ground.

“Who the fuck pissed in her cornflakes this morning?” Kitty says as she makes her way over to Mini to help her up from the grass. You all turn around quickly and stare at Seungmin. 

“I didn’t do shit-” Seungmin holds his hands up in defence. You all continue to look at him and he drops his hands and rolls his eyes. “Okay, whatever, we just had one extra drink last night it wasn’t even that bad-” 

“She doesn’t get hangovers what the fuck did you do to her?!” Kitty yells, patting Mini on the head and running her fingers through her hair. 

“What didn’t he do is the better question to be honest-” Hyunjin shudders as shakes the images out of his brain.

“Shut your mouths unless you all want to die.” Mini grumbles, but looks at Kitty, “except you, you’re safe baybee.” Kitty smugly smiles at Seungmin and sticks her tongue out at him, as she continues to pet Mini.  “Everyone to your fucking spots.” Mini goes and grabs her camera, getting her setup all together. 

“Ok let’s start from the confession-” Hyunjin states, grabbing his script from his bag.

After a few rounds of rehearsals, and some errors in filming, everyone decides to try one last time after getting a few good shots. Standing in front of Jisung was sending your nerves into a panicked shock. The two of you were staring at each other as you tried to remember exactly what your lines were.

“I can’t do this-” you recite the lines to Jisung, looking at the ground as you feel a slight tinge of pain in your chest. 

“Why can’t you,” Jisung says, placing his finger under your chin and lifting your head. “You can’t even look me in the eye, what did I do wrong?!” 

“Why did you even call me out here, Peter?” You pull your head away from his fingers, pulling back from him, looking back down at the ground to compose yourself. “I want nothing to do with you.” 

“You know that’s not true.” Jisung says softly, stepping closer to you. “Look at me, and tell me that’s the truth. Tell me and I’ll go.” is this what a confession would actually feel like?

“I can’t…” 

“Can’t what. Look at me, or lie to me.” Jisung says, his voice getting quiet as he finishes the line.

“God you guys wrote this so dramatically…” Changbin whispers to the English majors. 

“Stop hiding from me.” Jisung sighs, running his hands through his hair, exasperated. “You can’t just keep running away from me.” 

“Why not.” You finally look up at him. This whole scene feels so real, you can't help but admire the man in front of you. He’s kinda pretty, and soft looking… and he smells so fucking good. Focus Y/N. You knit your brows together, fisting your hands at your side. “If you called me out here, to ask stupid questions I'm leaving-” You turn to walk away before Jisung grabs your wrist to stop you in your tracks. 

“I called you out here, to figure out what you want from me. Why do you keep hiding from me, running from me! Why do you always leave just when I start thinking we’re getting closer?” Jisung is getting frustrated, his heart not understanding the situation. “Why? Why do you keep distancing yourself from me?” He drops your wrist in defeat. “I called you out here to figure out if you felt the same way, don't you get that!?” Jisung yells. 

“W-what” you stutter. It was your line, but you reacted so out of instinct because it felt so… real. 

“I need to know.” Jisung says softly, grabbing your hand so gently. “If you feel the same way. Please..” He almost begs. 

“I don’t know…how I feel…” You struggle to find the words. Mini looks between Hyunjin, Kitty, Jeongin, and Seungmin. This was not in the script. “I’m so confused…” They let the cameras roll to see what the outcome will be. Jisung looks at you confused but since no one says anything he tries to continue.

“Fine.” Jisung says and grabs you, pulling you close to his chest. “How do you feel about this then?” He asks gently. He places a finger under your chin again and tilts your head up to his, your lips a breaths distance away from one another. He leans in to close the distance and you melt in his hold. You couldn’t help but feel weak at the knees because of him, the secure hold he had around your waist, the gentle hold on your chin, the soft caress of his lips against yours. You wrap your hands around his neck and pull him in closer.

“Perfect!” Hyunjin yells from behind the camera. Neither you or Jisung really register Hyunjins call of your names at first, too lost in each other's warmth, but once it registers, you both push away from each other, blushing like crazy, your ears and his cheeks bright red.

“Does art imitate life… or does life imitate art…” Mini whispers to Hyunjin.

“What?” Hyunjin looks at her confused.

“Are you dense? They like each other.” Mini whispers at him and slaps his arm.

“Seriously, I told you he was dumb.” Seungmin mumbles to Mini. 

“Fuck you.” Hyunjin seethes to Seungmin.

“Not your job, but thanks for the offer!” Seungmin winks at Hyunjin.

“I hate both of you.” Mini rolls her eyes. 

“Not true, you only PARTIALLY hate me.” Seungmin teases, wiggling his eyebrows at her.

“What even makes you think that anyway?” Felix asks from the side of the group.

“Look at them?!” Mini whisper-yells, as she points at you and Jisung are being awkward near each other.

“Nah.” Chan questions. “Anyone would be a mess if they had to kiss like that- right?” Kitty rolls her eyes at him.

“God you’re also dense.” Kitty says. “Men.”  Mini nods in agreement.

I’m glad it makes you smile and that you took the suggestion, seeing you respond makes me smile and kick my feet like a school girl texting/hj. I’d love to help you develop the plot if you want to of course! I think ways of like the doubt of the current ideals could start 3 different ways, maybe an old fae student who attended before the headmaster could be interviewed as a project or something and reveal how different things are? Or maybe an old book that managed to survive the headmaster’s purging of any material that talked about the school’s origin. Or maybe utilizing the ghosts in ramshackle or the ghosts and painting around the schools. I think developing the ramshackle ghosts would be a good way to show what ramshackle was originally intended to do. So however this starts the first years obviously start to investigate and start to uncover more and more. Or maybe a combination of those ideas to help the investigation? Maybe there could be an old painting of the evil headmaster (kind of Harry Potter style if you know what I mean!) idk I’m just trying to help!

The old fae idea would be a WILD ride in my opinion. I feel like the freshman originally wouldn’t trust the far at their word bc they’re old and senile which makes for an interesting plot.

The freshman would be so convinced that the fae is pulling their leg or something that they look into the facts to PROVE HIM WRONG and then began the descent into madness. 

For the old book idea….I don’t really see that happening. I like to think the previous headmage was VERY thorough with his erasure of the past. No book or stone was left unturned.

The ghosts/portraits would also work very well in terms of information getting to the first years. Like one of the ghosts or portraits say something about the past and the freshman start asking questions from there.

Each beginning ends with the madness of uncovering centuries worth of hidden history that not even Crowley knows about!

I've decided a long time ago that I genuinely dont have the passion for this project anymore. I still love this AU, I still love the story, but forcing myself to attempt to create something to put out for the world (which was the comic, but then became an animatic in an attempt to save my passion) really fucked me up mentally?? I always thought that if I didn't share my stuff with the world that I was putting a story to waste. A mid ass story in my case. I also just wanted to appease the masses that don't even exist, I was basically competing against myself if that made sense.

Please don't do what I did. I do not want anyone to repeat my mistakes, it genuinely took a toll on my self esteem and it was a very dark time mentally because of it. If you aren't happy with a story/project or lost interest, please don't force yourself to keep working on it/take a break. Art is supposed to be fun, not stressful.

I won't delete this blog, too precious for me to do, I'll just keep it up for archival purposes, still got some stuff I'm proud of. I'm gonna br active on tumblr and stuff obviously. I might get this story out one day, just on a refurbished blog that isn't this one. I can't stand to look at this blog. (/hj but also not joking)

hc: Techno, having lived hundreds of years, tries to keep the number of possessions down to a minimum. But there comes a point where you just gotta start shoving things into the basement, closet, attic (random holes in the wall that you cover up with paintings), stuff like that. So when Phil moves in, he's delighted by all the strange and hidden knick knacks around the house. And he literally brings home more stuff. Like, more trinkets and things to fill up Techno's house. Techno doesn't mind, he sees it makes his friend happy, but now he's got an ongoing side project of making a crap ton of shelves and inventive storage compartments, and it's starting to look like the project is probably never gonna end. Niki and Ranboo find Phil's obsession endearing, and Connor.... Connor just tries to (very obviously) "borrow" (steal) all the flashy and colorful things (toys). Like a toddler.

Something very important

Luca: Looks like a sparkly magical boy -> is actually surprisingly normal, albeit very traumatized.

Kieran: Looks fairly normal, albeit very shy -> Uh oh.

Gonna ramble about Luca and Kieran bc I'm so normal guys, I prommy.

So. A big part of Kieran's character arc is his own insecurities and self loathing. It's because of these two things that he becomes jealous of the player, projecting onto them badly, especially after the Ogerpon incident. I'm taking that aspect of his character and exploring it.

Some context about Luca: 1) like I said before he looks like he's a magical boy and can act like a shonen protagonist. Pink hair ( wine red the game, but it's dark shade of pink), multicolor swirled eyes ( I need an explanation for that send help-), and a love for exploring and making friends. At first glance, Luca is just this bright light that is always shining. 2) In my universe ( the Legendverse), Luca was there during the darkest day. Along side the trauma of sibling experiencing that as a child, he also had to see his sister take a blow for him, and watching her bleed out. She's okay, she's alive ( she's wheelchairs bound now), but Luca was 8 years old when that happened. To see his sister on the ground,chaos all around him, thinking that she could be dead- that's a lot. And it's made even worse when his father blamed him for his sister's injuries. Which leads to 3) Luca has a tendency to blame himself for things that aren't his fault and is very very adamant on not being a burden to others. What happened to his sister wasn't his fault, obviously. But the guilt still stuck with Luca, and manifested in him not wanting others to do things for him, less he becomes a "burden" all over again. This really shows during the main plot of SV- during the titan quests, Luca is. Honestly terrified of the Titans. They remind him of the dynamax pokemon in Galar and after the Darkest Day is reaction to them has been....bad. He couldn't do the gym challenge like he dreamed of because of it. And while the Titans aren't as big ( I think), they are big enough to make Luca freeze up. Something that he hates, because he agreed to help Arven with his quest, and suddenly he's becoming a burden just like his dad would make him out to be. So he pushes through it, forcing himself to just deal with it,unless he wants Arven to hate him forever. There's a lot more to this, but this is just a major example of Luca's trauma and guilt coming up.

Now with all of that in mind, the Teal Mask was when things kinda shifted. Luca is freshly off the " I'm not a burden even if I'm not helping others" lesson he got from the main game - he's still grappling with it, which will become apparent soon. Luca and Kieran honestly hit it off really well. Luca has a way of gathering introverts and becoming friends with them, and he genuinely, genuinely enjoyed spending time with Kieran ( note: the time frame of the Teal Mask is different than canon in my au. It's longer so there's more time to explore and understand characters better). And Kieran.....Kieran idolized Luca. This isn't saying he never valued Luca, or that their friendship wasn't real- it was!!!!! But it was pretty clear that Kieran saw Luca as how many do at first- this energetic, magical person who gets to go on adventures and have cool battles and be strong. Kieran wished he could be like him. This was the beginning of the end/hj.

The incident with Ogerpon was. Bad. Luca didn't lie to Kieran, not at first. He lied when Kieran initially asked about it, only bc they were in public and Luca was still processing, but he immediately rectify it when the two were in private. Did that change anything? .....No. Not really. Kieran was still avoidant. He still lashed out. Ogerpon still chose Luca. With every second that Kieran was away from the group Luca the entire time was besides himself, panicking if he did something wrong, if he said the wrong thing, or if he should have been more quick to reassure Kieran. Luca loves Ogerpon. But the look of Kieran's face made him wish she didn't choose him. When leaving Kitakami, Luca wasn't as bright as he used to be, replaying the series of events over and over again, always landing on the rage and sadness of Kieran's face, and coming to the conclusion that it was his fault and that he needs to fix it....if he ever gets the chance to anyway. As for Kieran,the resentment pretty much takes full swing. But he never stopped idolizing Luca. He both loves and hates Luca- at least the version of him in his head. The cool, magical boy adventurer that's just so strong. Kieran wants to be strong too. He wants to surpass Luca, in so that maybe, maybe he can prove to others ( and himself ) that he's strong too. He wants to be strong. He has too.

This is basically me saying that neither stopped thinking about each other for the whole summer going into Indigo Disk. Kieran. Tried not to. He hated Luca, of course, so why would he bother thinking of him. Not like Luca was always his motivation to become stronger, no of course not. ( I mean. Okay Luca wasn't the only reason, Kieran always wanted to be strong, so he was still doing this for himself. But the entire situation with Luca pretty much pushed things into overdrive). Luca was just in his sad boy era, his first ever break up, kindergarten divorce,he took the kids,etc etc. He had a support network that did help him, but he. Couldn't not blame himself. He was so determined to make things right, even if he had no idea how just yet.

Indigo Disk was very interesting. Obviously, when Luca learned that Kieran pretty much became a bully, his heart dropped into the earth and blamed himself for it- or at least he would have if R.B ( another oc, who's pretty much a secondary protag in SV) wasn't there. But she was, and she pretty much made sure Luca wasn't spiraling in his own self appointed blame, and made sure he wasn't becoming super pushy in his quest to "fix" things. And because R.B is pretty much saying " Kieran's actions are his own,you shouldn't constantly blame yourself for it", it made Luca see things more....objectively? Kinda. Luca in the indigo Disk is very much a mess - the situation is stressful, between the school drama, him constantly worrying about Kieran and just in general school life. R.B being his anchor is much needed,and with that comes even more feelings bc he's now getting. Frustrated. Frustrated that Kieran is acting the way he does. Frustrated that Kieran isn't willing to talk to him, to talk things out. Frustrated that Kieran seems to put him on this pedestal that he himself feels like he doesn't deserve. Luca never seen himself as a hero. He never seen himself as the magical boy adventurer that's strong and cool - at one point, he wanted to be that. But after everything that has happened to him, I think he's more content being Luca. But Kieran doesn't seem to see that. Which is frustrating. So yeah, now they're both bitter, whoops! Do they still care about each other? Yeah :)

Kieran: I want to be like you. I wish I can be like you.

Luca: You do not want to be me. You do not.

^ pretty much the gist of this arc.

The Area Zero portion of Indigo Disk is something I'm still trying to plan out for my universe,but the main thing to not was how Kieran finally realized he doesn't have to be someone else to be strong. He doesn't have to be Luca. And in doing that, in fighting alongside Luca against terapogos, he finally, finally starts to see him.

This is kinda why I decided to just not immediately go into the two getting together after ID/MM, even if the two are aware of their feelings for each other. You can get to know someone during a relationship, of course, but I think in this context, starting over their friendship, being able to truly see each other and know each other now- I think that's pretty great :).
