Internal Oblique: linchpin of the lateral line? Everybody wants six packs, but what about those love handles??? Most AK texts say abdominals relate to small intestine but I disagree. I think the internal oblique relates to the gallbladder channel. Either way, I’m finding it super important to connect with this muscle more and more, which has an interesting relationship / connection to Quadratus Lumborum (QL) as well! Depicted in anterior view A thought came up: what if so much low back pain is because QL is not working in the frontal plane enough? The two opposing lateral images in this slide-set are the same running model, but not just flipped. They are the different sides of the body. Notice anything? Check out those triangles. Location, size, direction, other shapes Interesting to note for myself in illustrating this was the posterior fibers of the internal oblique appear to run more toes to nose (vertically) than obliquely. I didn’t know that. New moves for this week. This combo targets building and lengthening the obliques - the sides of the body. The new HIIT classes on my website will feature it.
