The bridle for both of them was a looming threat for them both. Keep in mind when Suren asks Oak if he'd use the bridle on her, he deflects and she even mentions that even after his other assurances he NEVER says he wouldn't ever make her wear it.

He could have said he wasn't going to ever use it on her, but he doesn't, because he probably can't. The bridle is the thing hanging over their heads preventing them from being totally capable of trusting each other.

Ultimately I think the same way Oak who, raised by Madoc and Jude will go into these kill frenzies when threatened and Suren who will morally degenerate when pushed past enduring they both will need to overcome their darker natures, that were created in them by their adopted Father and mother respectively, to become more trusting and capable of rising above their "worst selves" and that bridle NEEDS TO GO.

I honestly loved seeing Jude and Cardan ten years later from Oak's perspective in Stolen Heir and Prisoner's Throne.

Cause like, they're still the same people, but they're also more mature and less impulsive and crazy.

For example, we see that scene where Jude and Cardan are in their room discussing things quietly, and I feel like CP to QoN them never would've.

But they're still foundationally the same, as in Jude's solution to everything is still murder, and Cardan is still a little more lighthearted.

Also, the quote that's like "She's [Jude] gonna wear your skull as a hat, and Cardan's gonna laugh and laugh when she does" described them so perfectly.

I adore the Greenbriar boys. Well when I say that, I mean Oak and Cardan. They are down bad in the best way possible. They’re fae so their charm makes sense, but it’s so easy to love them as characters. They’re just two guys who love dangerous women, I mean who wouldn’t be obsessed with Jude and Wren??
