I have started 3 separate Feyre pieces for Feyre week because I kept not finishing in time to post for the prompt so expect a lot of Feyre content in the future

This is "an unlikely friend". This is for the Feyre week prompt "Compassion"

Feyre shows a lot of compassion in the series to the creatures of the realm as well as the people. This is her putting her trust in Bryaxis, an unlikely alliance. The high lady shows no fear, as it's to save her people.

This took 15hours, I have been labouring on this since yesterday and only just finished in time!

I spent many hours drawing Helena’s stages of grief and I absolutely love the way phia showed Helena’s emotions, in a quieter way, which is the way a lot of people would realistically react. Helaena has always been a quiet introverted girl, but she still showed all the emotions in her eyes.

I’m gonna do a series of studies from House of the dragon. Each sheet will have multiple of the same character

While waiting for episode two tonight I started Heleanas

I think on each sheet I do I’ll base it on the weeks episode so Heleanas is Blood and cheese, starting with this one “not the dragons, the rats”

Then I will do a few more of her from this episode

I just finished watching this weeks episode and I think I’ll do Nyra for it but honestly there’s so many moments I want to draw and not enough time

I definitely want to do Jace and Bealar though and the twins fight

Art ramble

The reason is honestly I’ve been stuck on the same drawing since early may, I keep going into it, changing things, redoing it and I still don’t like it so I think I am gonna sack that drawing off as a bad job, sometimes things don’t work out and sometimes we forget as artists that, that is okay. I forgot, I got stuck for a long time. I often refine way to much and spend way to long refining parts people definitely won’t even notice only I will anyway it’s my toxic trait as an artist. Which means a lot of unnecessary hours.

So this little study sheet for Hotd is to free myself up as an artist again, force myself to stop and not refine too much. Keep all the work on one layer (except for the sketch/ line work) so I can’t keep taking things off, changing things and being indecisive, once it’s there it’s there. Not smooth it out too much and loose the brush marks, keep them in, it doesn’t have to be perfect or exactly what I wanted it to be. To put less pressure on myself to be perfect. And It always helps to do studies every so often in general to keep you up to date and used to thinking about colour theory, use light and dark, how to achieve certain effects and atmospheres using just brushstrokes or certain colours. How it tricks the mind to seeing what is there always amazes me.
