i know we never got to see it for either angela or nyla when they had their babies, but i've always had this headcanon that whenever someone at mid-wilshire welcomes a new member into their family grey starts roll call with a picture of their little one, along with the standard criteria next to it, ya know, height/weight/length/etc. and then everyone does a drumroll at their tables as he does a dramatic name reveal, and i just hope that one day in the future we'll actually get to see him do so for tim and lucy. it would be so cute. 🥹🫶

museum tours. you taught annabeth to love nature, and she instilled her passion for history in you. you explored museums together, entering the guided tours, only to run away and finish the experience on your own

braiding her hair. annabeth never cared much to braid her hair in fancy styles, usually throwing it in a ponytail or a bun if she had to. after lots of pleading, she finally let you experiment different braids and styles in her hair. she'd never admit it, but she liked how pretty they made her feel

penguin's closet favorite is soy luna. he watches that in private though because he knows his brothers will be clowning him the moment they hear the theme song

so clearly the donquixotes are spanish (the names, dressrosa's own spanish influence. no one can't tell me that that doffy and rosi don't use vosotros in a sentence) my favorite joke a friend of mine came up with is that in a modern au they would be huge fans of caso cerrado and with rosinante raising law, shachi, penguin and bepo even with the various nationalities between them and their own dialectal differences in spanish they grew up having to watch caso cerrado too

those boys can quote the 'mi amante pipo' episode by heart

and one day, rosi somehow got tickets to be on an episode of in the jury/audience section. ofc he has to take his sons with him because this is a family experience, but ofc that is also the day doctora polo is dealing with the wildest shit ever. like "i have 13 kids with a 14th split between my wife and my mistresses and my wife, lisa, won't let mistress no 3 name our baby 'lisa'"

if there's one thing (2, actually) regularly playing on tv in the Rosinante household is caso cerrado and telenovelas.

at least once a month, or every two months, they rewatch that episode of caso cerrado, just so they can see themselves in the audience. they also talk about it all the time. there's an ongoing bet of who, upon first meeting someone new, will be the first one to mention.

loser has to cook dinner.

watching caso cerrado is one of their favourite things to do as a family. they make popcorn (or prepare other snacks) and sit all together to watch it. they take turns choosing telenovelas to watch.

when it was Shachi's turn to choose, he chose Pasion de Gavilanes, obviously. Law started an argument saying country's version (Mexican version, Fuego y Sangre I think?) is better.

Ace

Ace was used to people thinking that he shouldn't have been born, so of course he didn't accept love easily—He didn't even deserve to live, so why on earth should he deserve to be loved?

Ace didn't mind fun flings, but when real feelings got involved, that was when he'd run and hide and retreat

When he found the one, he'd never be the one to say "I love you" first. He'd be too afraid of ruining things because he'd think that you wouldn't feel as strongly as he did

When you told him that you loved him, he'd have his doubts. He wouldn't get why you would choose him—the bastard son of the most dangerous pirate who had ever lived—of all the people you could get in this world. But you would convince him that he was the one you wanted, him and no one else

"I love you."

Ace tensed for a second, and then his arms around you slackened.

You pulled back slightly to look at him, studying the conflict blatantly written across his face.

You silently waited for him to process your words, your heart clenching as his gaze turned more and more distant as the seconds ticked by.

A touch of your fingers upon his brought him back to the present, and Ace finally rasped, "Why would you love the son of a criminal? How could you love a man who carries the blood of the demon in his veins?"

There was nothing you wanted more than to hunt down all of the ignorant fools who had ever said those wretched things about him.

But despite yourself, at this moment, you could only smile softly, "Well, that's because I couldn't give less fucks about who your father was, Ace. I don't care whose blood runs in your veins."

You brushed your thumb across his freckled cheek, "I love you because you're you."

Ace took a sharp inhale, and you cupped his face, guiding his eyes to look directly into yours, "I love you. My best friend. My anchor. My hearth. You."

He was quiet. You glimpsed a slight flicker of doubt that was still present in his eyes before he averted them.

Desperate to get through his thick skull, you shot at him, "Do you love me, Ace?"

"More than anything." He admitted, the answer quick to leave his mouth.

"Then let me love you too." You rested your forehead against his, "Please."

Ace's face softened as he hesitantly touched his lips to yours, kissing you gently, as if he couldn't believe that this was something he was allowed to do.

Pulling you into his warm embrace, he buried his face into the crook of your neck. You could feel wetness slowly seeping into the collar of your shirt.

"Thank you…" He whispered as his arms tightened around your back, "For loving me."

Once Ace realized that you were truly in love with him, he would be insufferable (affectionately)

He'd be more free with his affections. He'd steal kisses from you in public, much to your mortification and endless teasing from your crewmates

He'd randomly tell you that he loves you at odd parts of the day, just so he could hear you say back that you love him too

But no matter how many times you told him you loved him, his already warm body would always grow even warmer, a soft smile would grace his lips, and he'd always think how lucky he was to be loved by you

Sanji

Sanji was never stingy with his affection toward the ladies, but he wouldn't know what to do with someone who actually showed it back

He wouldn't think that someone could actually like him, much less love him, when all throughout his childhood he was repeatedly told that he was worthless—Did his endless flirting wear you down and you're just acting like this because you pitied him? There was no way someone like you could love someone like him, right? What was there to like about him anyway?

When you told him you loved him, he wouldn't believe it at first. But of course, you'd remind him again and again that he was worthy of all the love in the world

"I'm in love with you."

You couldn't see Sanji's expression from your perch at the kitchen bar, but you noticed how his hands froze on their way to putting the clean dishes back on the rack.

How he had longed for those words to come out of your lips, but now that you actually said it…

"Sanji? Did you hear me?" You got up from your seat, walking over to him, "I said I lo—"

"Please don—" He let out a shaky breath that made you stop in your tracks, "Please don't say things you don't mean, sweetheart."

His words annoyed you, making you snap at him, "You think I'd say that if I don't mean it?"

You stepped closer to him and took his hands, searching for his eyes that refused to meet yours.

"It's just—You can't possibly be in l-love with… me." His brows furrowed, each word more difficult for him to say than the last, "I-I'm not worthy of you, darling. Please don't waste your precious love on me."

Your heart ached for him. You couldn't imagine what this sweet man must have endured in the past to ever think that he wasn't worthy of being loved.

"Sanji, you're the kindest and most gentle soul I know." You run your fingers softly through his blond hair, "There's no one more worthy and deserving of love than you. There's no one else I'd rather love than you."

You cupped Sanji's face as tears started to flow freely from his eyes.

His voice was so small that you could barely hear it, choked out in between his sobs, "Do you really mean it?"

"I do." You pressed your lips to his forehead, "I love you, Sanji."

Sanji closed his eyes, reveling in the truth that you bared out to him.

You moved your lips down to his nose, and repeated, "I love you."

Kissing the tears away from his cheeks, you whispered again, "I love you."

When you reached his lips, no more words were needed as you poured all of your feelings into a tender kiss that made Sanji's heart dance in his chest.

And then finally, finally, he sighed out, "I love you too."

Even after Sanji accepted your love, he'd have a hard time actually hearing those three little words from you. He'd lose all of his composure every time you told him you loved him, the usually suave cook reduced to a bumbling, blushing mess

Whenever Sanji told you that he loved you, it would be different from the countless times he had loudly and obnoxiously proclaimed his love to all the ladies in the past. It would be soft, hesitant but certain at the same time, and it would be dripping with real love.

He'd sometimes stare at you with a shy smile, suddenly blurting out, "I still can't believe you love me. Would you tell me once again, please, my love?"

You would. And you'd tell him a thousand times more.

So I’m caught up on the rookie and I have thoughts on Tim and Lucy and it may be controversial. And I need to get these thoughts out of my head so I can read books again.

If we’re laying blame on the problems in their relationship, am I alone in thinking that Lucy was the biggest fault? Hear me out.

She knew undercover would be an issue for Tim. She's known it since she found out about Isabel. She's known since she first went under with Nyla on that short op. Yet, she still wants to be with him. And yes, Tim knew she wanted to do undercover, he knows the life that's ahead of him, so obviously he decided she was worth all that pain. It's just how she's treating him that is getting to me, and her unwillingness to accept that a full life with Tim and undercover is just not possible.

At every turn, she has seen the cost of working undercover. Isabel. Nyla losing her husband and nearly getting her daughter killed because of her work. Tim's friend Mack OD'ing at that conference. When her friend Foster told her that his girlfriend broke up with him because she couldn't date a ghost.

She kept pushing at him about not being able to handle her being undercover. And of course he wouldn't be okay! Who would be happy about the person they love being gone for weeks or months or years at a time? And he swallowed it every time until he believed he would be okay with it until that lie detector test.

And it really all came to ahead with the clown case when she accused him of undermining her. He didn't, and she never apologized for it. And after that fight, the conclusion they came to was his issues shouldn't affect her, his pain doesn't matter, and whatever happens to him should not touch her. Only what she wants matters. So when that phone call came and he disappeared, of course he wouldn't let her in, on top of his trauma from his service, he made a promise that his problems are not hers. And of course he feels like he's not worthy enough for her when he has to lie to protect her. If things had gone down differently she could have been fired or worse! And that's not what he wants.

And yes, Tim did not handle this well, but he's got forty years of untreated PTSD coming up in his face, I'm gonna give him some grace. But also, how do you expect someone to react when they've been told their whole like that their pain doesn't matter? (I have a lot of headcanon about Tim's childhood that I won't get into here.) That when he makes mistakes he should be punished and demoted, while everyone else only gets slaps on the wrist or worse, nothing. (*ahem* Nolan *ahem*). Yeah, he's not gonna feel worthy of her, that he was worth the risk.

I do believe they are gonna get back together, but undercover is gonna be an issue for them once again, and Lucy will have to make a choice between their life together or undercover. They won't have anniversaries, or holidays, or date nights, or nights in with Kojo. She will lose all of that time together, which she knows because she lost the last couple weeks of Jackson's life cause she was undercover. They won't have the kids she keeps talking about, which she knows Tim wants. And she'll have no one to blame but herself.

Strollonso headcanons that haunt me:

They got together in 2018, Lance had just turned 20 and Fernando was 37.

Lance was the first person to settle Fernando down as he was previously known as a bit of a playboy.

They had to keep the relationship secret as both of them would be accused of corporate espionage. (especially not a good look on Fernando... remembering spygate) The rules were changed later in 2021 when Fernando signed with Alpine.

During Fernando's time off from F1, they came out and it was a bit of a scandalous affair. The media tried to drag Lance but Fernando went on a full-on campaign to support him so they moved on from it in a few weeks.

Fernando buys little gifts for him all the time and Lance pretends to be annoyed but actually loves it.

They mostly talk in English, but occasionally slip into French which sounds like complete nonsense to everyone else because of their accents. But they understand each other perfectly fine.

They got married in 2023 during the summer break. It was a small wedding with just family and some close friends. Lance's parents wanted a Jewish wedding, Fernando's family a Christian wedding. They ended up with a civil officiate to stop them from fighting.

They have two dogs; a shiba inu named Nyla and a golden retriever named Rósa. They treat them like their own kids and they often travel with them to the races.

Lance will tell you that they're polar opposites in their personality; he is quiet and more reserved, Nando is a chatterbox and slightly insane. Fernando thinks it's the other way around (delusion).

They would want to have a family but both of them are too stubborn to retire and become a home dad, so, it's on hold.

When Lance is around, Fernando is banned from practicing any kind of magic tricks as it makes Lance feel dumb for not figuring them out and Nando refuses to tell him how they work.

They have an ongoing bet on which one of them turns gray first. It's currently almost tied and Lance is worrying he's going to lose. (<- suspects Nando of cheating and dying his hair)

They mainly stay in Canada at Lance's or Switzerland at Fernando's house, but spend at least the minimum time in Monaco for taxes 💅 Also Spain. And thinking about Japan, bc Nando is obsessed with the country.

Every formal function they're invited to, Lance has to be dragged in like a cat refusing to go in a bathtub.

They've done Daytona 24h together, with Lando as their 3rd team mate.

Lance has a bad habit of forgetting jewellery everywhere and losing rings all the time which is why Fernando peppers him with pretty things. It also causes Fernando to wear both their wedding rings to keep Lance's safe. Lance would never forgive himself if he lost it.

Every time Fernando comes back from the karting school, he recites the whole day back to Lance and updates him on all the kids' progress. When they have small competitions, Lance helps as a race director.

Lance has a lot of hockey jerseys and Fernando wears them all the time. Lance is prohibited from touching Fernando's football shirts.

the rookie group chat headcanons - part 2

when lucy’s on a long undercover stint one time, the whole crew makes a fake website pretending to be top chef fans looking for a fan server, just so that she can “join” and eventually start a text chain with these “strangers” where they pretend not to know each other for a while and then talk about their days

bailey and her wild friend blow uppp the ladies only group chat one night with misspelled drunken texts and selfies of them, and the morning after bailey immediately asks angela to plan the bachelorette party because she wouldn’t be able to stand doing that crazy shit one more night

bailey also makes a text chain with nyla angela and tamara and they conspire to make lucy catch the bouquet so that tim will take the hint and get a ring already

thorsen and celina have their own dnd group chat, but they still try and recruit the rest of the gang every now and then. grey nearly has a stroke trying to understand what the hell a “level 16 paladin” means

but ohhhhh when celina MAKES them all understand the dm alignment chart. she sends it to them and then will regularly respond to things with “that’s so chaotic neutral of you tim” or “wesley always on ur lawful good beat” just to annoy them. they all hate it, but slightly less than when she uses zodiac signs in the same way

thorsen once sent an entire bob the builder episode file to the group chat with the caption “nolan- any notes?” and then went mia for twelve hours

harper will intentionally call aaron and celina the wrong names just to make sure no one thinks she’s getting too chummy or soft 

they try to group facetime and it goes about as well as you expect: grey doesn’t know how to hold the camera right, lucy keeps putting a cat filter on tim’s face, nolan keeps playing with the green screen backgrounds and angela keeps muting him

henry, tamara, dominique, and lila all have a “mid-wilshire kids” group chat. they keep it pretty pg for lila since she’s a bit younger, but mostly just use it to talk about their parents. eventually they let cyrus in because james finds out and suggests they include him. (james, per their request, keeps it a secret, because he’s sure if they ever found out their kids were sneaking around and giggling about them, their parents would not be having it lol)

Nyla and Charlotte Hcs

Pre Eclipse

When Charlotte first saw Nyla she had been passing by the training grounds where Nyla had been training with the king's knights

Usually, Charlotte had no interest in that sort of thing but the fact that a female medic was going up against some of the king's best knights and winning was fascinating

Charlotte was transfixed by the woman's movements and waited for her to finish so she could talk to her

When Nyla spoke to Charlotte she spoke to her as an equal, not as a princess, making Charlotte feel like a normal person for once

The more the two talked the more Charlotte's crush developed, leaving her hoping to talk to Nyla more in the future

When given the chance Charlotte requested that Nyla be her guard leading to them forming a close bond as Nyla continued to treat Charlotte as an equal

Nyla sees Charlotte as someone who must be protected but not babied and is slightly off-put by the princess' naivety but Nyla will protect the princess when she is put in the position of protector

Charlotte has seen the relationship that Nyla and Griffith have and often wonders what it would be like to have them both vying for her affection

Post Eclipse

When Griffith rescued Charlotte and brought her to the band's camp she never expected to meet Nyla again

Charlotte can tell Nyla has changed and seeing that she no longer treats Griffith as a friend worries her

Nyla spends some of her time watching over Charlotte but tries to keep her at arm's length because of the brand

Charlotte's crush on Nyla never went away and she sees the way Griffith looks at her too making her once again wonder what it would be like if the three of them were together

Nyla wants to avoid Charlotte so the princess wouldn't be in danger because of her but she also knows Griffith is only going to protect her until he's used her to become king

Nyla won't let Charlotte die because of Griffith's worthless dream so she stays aware of the princess' well-being at all times

Nyla knows that Charlotte likes her and tries to not encourage any feelings

Charlotte uses her free time to visit Nyla with cakes she's baked and usually Griffith can be found with Nyla in his free time so Charlotte is happy to share her cakes with both of them

Band name: How did they and the others come up with the band name? Has the name changed since it was founded?

oh god, band name questions. This one is kinda a blank slate still..because ngl, during the playthrough I just created their band name in an instant and it just stuck with me! but, i believe they would have a different band name during their time with seven, but i shall get back to you on that! but, their current name is 'the renegades'. In my head, it sounds very cool - but, for significant wise; i did look it up the meaning of the word, and it means like some kind of betrayal. It doesn't truly reflect to the band, but..I think it opted to the meaning of rebel. Music has always been a rebellion in some way, and for their band..i can imagine, it's just a rebellion to the well those who don't believe them. So, they're the rebels, the renegades. But, in terms of coming through the term, I feel like Nyla would definitely came across the word during one of her songwriting sessions and become very much attached to how mysterious it sounds...and it become a part of them somehow. and it fits!

Performance: What are they thinking and feeling while they’re performing? How do they act on stage?

For Nyla, when she's performing...and since the band's genre is alternative, it sorta have a mystique vibe to it. So, in her head during performance is like, a clean slate; there's like one goal which is the vision or known as the big picture for what she's been dreaming of. Like when she does on stage, she tries to picture herself and the band performing at somewhere bigger, so that's her imagery at. and that really become like a factor of her performance too. And what she's feeling the whole music in her veins. When she's performing, she is more of a let the voice and instrumental do the talking and it showed through her performance. The feeling of like goosebumps can be one of them, to listen to what they made and perform it to others. It's goosebumps, magical, and mysterious feeling at some sort. The way she acts on stage is like, confident mysterious one. Like, you'll never expect what's she's gonna perform, she tends to smile to the fans before the performance but as soon as the music starts and yeah, she's a whole different person in the best way possible.

Fans: How is their relationship with their fans? Do they go out of their way to interact? 

She has a good track record of the fans, especially on social media. She does react a lot to fans, like enjoys watching covers, the art, and definitely have came across maya's page before she even meet the girl before. But, she also has this fun habit to troll the hate pages, especially well.....the seven fans who has a dislike towards her, despite her being a fan of soft violence ofc. But, she enjoys interacting and living that...reality. like, "we got fans?!" but in a cool vibe yknow? but, with the botb drama with UW, well..i can see her limiting the interaction cause well, there's more fighting in her comments a lot and all, so she tends to become slower, but she does go out of her way to interact. I have this headcanon, like their first ever like big gig performance at this bar..and like there's the early fans, and like she hugged one of the fans who gave her a letter and like flowers to congratulate. she still kept both the letter..and dried the flowers, despite she doesn't really show that much of her nostalgia persona, she does care very deeply.

gosh, i'm gonna lay out nyla and seven here mehe! so, miss nyla has this front like, she's so different around everyone else..and in front of seven. Like, she's like a switch not like a bad switch, she just...feels more comfortable to feel around seven. In general, nyla's personality is like uncaring (like hey idgaf, like she does not truly give an f towards the haters and all that jazz) and flirty outside but everytime she's around seven like in proximity wise. She feels SO MANY THINGS, like those she couldn't control too. But, after the break-up..she just keeps all of those feelings on her own, reminsicing it on her own, and letting well the love and every single feeling she has for seven flow through her. that photoshoot with seven and Blake like that honestly she would almost have a breakdown there and then (she already has one internally, but outside...she's calm cool and collected.)

Seven was like...some sort her anchor with well, the shitty parents and all that. And like after the breakup and the band breaking apart, let's just say...she loses that anchor and has to stand on her own. And this is where she's good and bad at it, in front of people and heck, even orion, she's the master of fake it till you make it, idc idgaf, who is even seven lawless? but, like in private..she just would have that silent moment and like..just to take a breath, and sometimes when she's at home..feeling a bit lonely on her own, she wears one of seven's old shirt that he never bothered to take it back. she would go through that blackout, of emotions of losing someone. and, when she's out of her place, out of her thoughts..she's okay again. I think Rowan might guess that, noticing that. Hell, maybe one day she'll tell Orion what happened with her and seven, but like she hides that how she deeply feels cause like focus on the fame, the cameras and everything (she's already a pro at that so dont worry!!!!) But hey, seven lawless will always be her weak link.
