A PRAYER FROM LADY ASHARA ALLYRION

Another empty bedroom in Godsgrace. Ashara sat on Mayya's bed, a candle holder in hand as she looked at the darkening chambers. The sun was setting, taking away the light with it. “Do not let my girl suffer,” the lady murmured. “Do not let anyone steal away her peace... Please, do not let anyone rob Mayya of her worth. Do not leave her at the mercy of abuse”. The Dowager Lady of Godsgrace knew there were a number of ways in which a woman could be made to suffer. She feared that the most for her girl. The lady set the handle holder aside on the nightstand. A sad smile crossed her lips, seeing some of her daughter's bangles scattered there. Mayya never stored things properly in drawers or her jewelry boxes, leaving things around her room. As a mother, she often asked her to be tidier. She felt her frame slouch, feeling worn down, feeling so exhausted emotionally. Ashara reached out and picked one of the bagles, pressing it to her chest. She hadn't cried. She'd not been able to cry yet. She let out a shaky, tired breath, looking ahead at the sliver of sunlight that remained from the sun setting. “If you must take Mayya, do so,” she whispered, feeling her lip tremble as she spoke. It was a horrible wish in some ways, but it was a mother's most loving wish too. “But please, gods, do not let her suffer”. Ashara repeated those words under her breath several times. Please do not let her suffer. She softly rocked herself back and forth, holding her daughter's bangle tightly as she repeated her prayer to the gods. “And please, I beg you, do not take Dastan and Myriam from me,” she rolled her lips. It was then that she noticed she had begun crying. “If you must take anyone else, take me. But do not take any more of my children”.

When conflicts arise she is often called upon to mediate the situation due her level-headedness and knack for understanding what people actually want. This could be used to manipulate people for her own gain, but only in extreme circumstances.

She's very open-minded and non-judgmental, she does not tend to assume that anybody is lesser than her and finds great reward in broadening her worldview by getting to know people.

Despite this point, when caught up in an argument she can be insensitive to other people's feelings, sometimes taking things too far in order to win.

When rumours of war first started to spread, Ellaria had a guard teach her how to defend herself and continues to learn. She wanted to know that, should the worst happen, she would be able to defend herself and her family, not be cowering in the corner calling out for a saviour.

headcanon / dastan.

        dastan’s ( modern / ac ! verse ) parents died when he was very young ;  he was never put into the system,  instead growing up on the streets of london, learning to fend, fight, and live for himself.   despite the tragedy,  he was never alone ;  he was good to the other street kids, protecting the littler ones,  making sure everyone had shelter or some kind of food.   once caught stealing out of the kitchen of a posh restaurant,  dastan barreled into a patron during his escape.   when asked his name, he very proudly stated dastan,  and the patron paid for the stolen food and let him go.   a few days later,  that man found dastan on the streets and offered him a new life, a chance to live with him,  only after asking if dastan was a family name.   das doesn’t remember much about his parents,  he doesn’t even know his last name,  but he always remembered his dad telling him to be proud of his namesake.      so the man took dastan in,  gave him a home,  a new family,  a tutor,  and a dog.   when dastan turned fifteen,  the man turned his entire world and existence upside down.   he learned of his ancestry, most importantly his namesake,  and he began his training as an assassin.   eager to learn and please,  das grew into a fine young member of the creed.

THE NEW RULING LADY OF GODSGRACE

A few weeks before the departure to King's Landing, Lord Dastan Allyrion wed Lady Ophelia Fowler. All members of the Dornish court were invited for the three days of the wedding celebrations. Unlike Dastan's first marriage to Lady Sofina of the Reach, the union to Ophelia was performed under fully Dornish traditions, as it marked the marriage of members of two esteemed houses of Dorne. Godsgrace has a ruling lady once again.

The noble house Allyrion of Godsgrace is pleased to announce the birth of Hasaryn Allyrion, first son of Lord Dastan and his paramour, Selene. The Lord of Godsgrace has acknowledged the baby boy as his trueborn son, granting him the Allyrion name. The matter of the boy’s role as heir of Godsgrace is still to be discussed with his grace, the Prince of Dorne.

Despite being away from home, the rite of the naming ceremony Namakarna was conducted at Highgarden on the first full moon after the tenth day of Hasaryn’s birth. The baby was bathed and dressed in new garments given to Dastan by his lady mother, Lady Ashara. Dastan’s immediate family and friends from the the Dornish court were invited to attend this private ceremony.
