Gothamist Twitter on 1/29/24:
"Emergency exit gates at three subway stations will soon take 15 seconds to open, MTA officials announced Monday, as part of an effort to crack down on the "super highway of fare evasion.""
Twitter user notchrisvolpe on 1/29/24:
"If you were in that Brooklyn subway station when the NYPD failed to stop a terrorist attack and then let the mass shooter get away - just know the @MTA wants you to be stuck for 15 seconds when the next emergency happens."
Twitter user notchrisvolpe on 3/19/24:
"Welp, it happened." Followed by link to article in Gothamist by Giulia Heyward and Ramsey Khalifeh on 3/17/24 with title "Fleeing riders forced to exit single file at nearby Brooklyn station after subway shooting, riders say" and accompanied by a photo of an MTA subway exit gate.

#GovBallNYC Part One
Dear Photography, I have a confession to make, my love. I’ve cheated on the game! Lol. The weekend before last… I… shot everything in automatic!!
Oh the Horror! Lmfao!
That’s right! I turned my aperture wheel all the way to ‘Program’ and called it a day. Judge your mother!
Tumblr media
June 7th marks my first time going to a music festival. My brother and I accompanied two of my close friends to Governors Ball & we had a blast. I told myself a few weeks ago that I would only be documenting the day on film. I still attempted to pack my 7D with the 24-70 but the weight on my back pack was unacceptable!! Therefore Se7ven (all my cameras have names) had to miss this outing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I packed both my analog cameras along with 3 or 4 brand new rolls of film and was on my way!
Tumblr media
Me and Rudy arrived in Queens to meet Yadira and Gabi around 1:40pm. The day had already gone through multiple stages of weather, opening with some heavy rain in the morning, cold winds, and ultimately being cloudy for a few hours. So after missing a handful of frames due to fumbling around making sure all my settings were correct, I decided to put my pride aside and go straight to ‘Program’ mode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now in the world of photography, at least from what I was taught, no photographer ever opts for shooting in automatic mode, buuuuuuut, come on! Give me a freakin break, adjusting for every single shot trying to keep up with an event that’s already moving at the speed of light.. ain’t nobody got time for that. Lol
These were the winning shots from the roll of Kodak Gold shot on the A1. More photos coming up on Part Two

Old thoughts about the old blog, circa 2012
The single biggest problem with the invasion is that now ponies know that Changelings exist, and that's where I drew my initial inspiration when I started: the blog was originally supposed to chronicle a downward spiral for Ponyville—fraught with soldiers, paranoia, the occasional angry mob, and a move toward intense nationalism, because the abrupt realization that lovesucking shapeshifters exist would do awful things to society as a whole. Suddenly the ponies have An Enemy who could be anywhere and be anyone, and they only know bare bones basics about that enemy. Rumors would be flying, children would be teased or assaulted based on their appearance, and dissent would be silenced as "unponylike." I was eventually going to head toward book burnings and a sanctioned assault on the library by the local military regime acting "in the name" of Celestia but without her sanction. And soon enough "the old Ponyville" is gone.
That eventually evaporated when I started interacting with other blogs, and when Season 3 got underway and Ponyville was still Ponyville. You can't have a pony from a happy version of Ponyville show up in a version of Ponyville that is slowly creeping toward what might eventually become fascism.
"If you see something, say something. Report suspicious behavior. Call local law enforcement."
"Never forget who the enemy is! Remember, anypony could be a Changeling."
"Do you have what it takes to stand up to the Changelings? Do your part for Equestria. See your local recruiter about joining the Guard."

reblogging this again since op informed and this post didn't have the original source
anyways my original comment:
Sorry just wanted to say that there is a campaign that I've been helping with to make the MTA more afforadable!
Tumblr media
we've started with buses so far (but only temporary and the pilot program just ended in September 2024) but yeah there's a whole campaign
sadly it won't be free, but it would freeze the fare for trains and make the buses free
Highlights from the article
"The pilot firstly dramatically increased ridership. Across all five fare-free bus lines, the MTA reported a 30 percent increase in ridership on weekdays and 38 percent on weekends, with 23 percent of riders reporting that they made the trip because it was free. It also provided clear economic relief to low-income riders. The highest uptick in new riders was from individuals earning less than $28,000." ... "Across the five routes we made free, assaults on bus operators dropped by 38.9 percent. This strongly mirrors what happened in Kansas City: After introducing fare-free buses, security incidents dropped 39 percent from 2019 to 2020."

Nah idc I will stay hopping trains. The trains are almost always delayed, has people who are dangerously armed and are in filthy condition. I don’t want to hear the excuse of the homeless people seeking refuge in stations or trains when the odds are constantly being stacked against them.
If there were proper funding from state taxes instead of putting all of the pressure on poor people maybe there would be better conditions.
To reiterate public transportation should be free for low income people. It’s literally the least for what most encounter while commuting
When did they become snitchside edition?

Let public vote on Penn Station
The waiting room of a rebuilt Pennsylvania Station. (Nova Concepts/courtesy of Atelier & Co.) Rebuilding Pennsylvania Station, built in 1910 and demolished in 1963, is the single act that can best help bring beauty in architecture back to the United States and the rest of the world. It would directly boost the beauty of the city itself, and as an arrival point for millions of visitors weekly, its…
