That, my new friend, is Samoa Joe, and he is DADDY AF.

Just check out any of his matches and enjoy, I highly recommend him and Finn Vs Corbin and Rhyno in NXT, and him Vs Finn Balor in NXT London, and him in AEW. Then you can go digging up the other Samoa Joe promos and matches. (Some say he had his best matches with CM Punk but I loathe Punk so I don't watch him at all, but you can check out their classic trilogy)

MITB 2k24 Picks :

After the spEarz YT got taken down, it's been hard to get back to doing audio pods on this sport, so this is my first strike back with something new.

First off my favorite is Naomi. I'd like her to hit the ring with something similar to that XBOX leotard she had on a couple weeks back on SD!

If I put money on it, I would pick Stratton to win since she isn't necessairly tied up in astable like the other females in the match, despite showing support for Nia Jax over the past few weeks.

Dark Horse Pick? Chelsea Green. She's the Fool in the deck, and with non-factors like Vega and Carmella winning the briefcase over the years, Green's cowardly heel character would be perfect to hold the briefcase with Niven as her enforcer.

Not sure why there is not a championship match listed on the card yet. Maybe the tag titles will get contested on the pre-show again and can go back to Cargill and Belair? I can live with that.

One MITB match is not enough when AEW and othe promotions are featuring several women's matches on their PPV cards. Give a damn that it's a double header weekend with NXT Heatwave. Thats two separate events.

Vivi DIYs a Motorsports Journal

One of my college classes is about bookbinding/book arts and I've decided to go ambitious with one of my projects and make a motorsports journal. (Except now I've already spent about 4 hours on the pages and setting everything up instead of working on my more pressing assignments)

I think it might be fun to track the process here, so I'll put everything else under the cut and reblog with additional updates!

Format/Content:

I'm including general series schedules, a page for (almost) every race, driver (and in some cases team) pages, and then some empty space in the back. I hadn't gotten around to listing out all the races for all the categories I'm following, but wow it was wild to actually lay it all out... I'm including F1, F2, F1 Academy, Indycar, WEC, and ELMS, which totals out to 76 races/weekends (F2 and F1A are 1 page per weekend despite having 2 races, but the Indycar double headers are considered 2 races).

WEC race pages will focus on Jota and the Iron Dames, and ELMS pages will focus on Inter Europol Competition and Iron Dames (as opposed to listing all entries in all categories)

For Indy NXT I'm really only following Jamie Chadwick, so I'm including a little space for notes on the Indycar pages when NXT is running. Similarly, for Formula E I'm just going to have Nissan in the driver page section and more passively track their progress there.

Here's an example of my pages so far for Bahrain and WEC round 1:

Making the book:

Once I finish formatting all the pages and test-printing a few to make sure everything is good to go, I plan to print on 24lb Bond/60lb (90gsm) paper (a little thicker than normal printer paper). Right now it's looking like it'll be 112 pages, which means 7 4-sheet signatures.

Binding:

This very well may end up being a total disaster, but I really want to try to do a Coptic stitch binding but with a design--that design being a racecar. It's definitely going to take some experimenting, practice, and planning beforehand, but I really want to see if I can make it work. I think the hardest part is going to be transferring a design onto the spine. I'm defs going to try SeaLemon's technique of drawing out the design and then doing a graphite transfer.

My other concerns are that a) I will have to make too many holes in certain signatures which will make them prone to tearing out (especially if I will be opening and closing the journal a lot) and b) there won't be good spots to anchor the cover boards. I think I can have a straight line across the top and bottom of the spine to help anchor things, and then see where I can creatively work additional spots into the cover boards.

If worst comes to worst, I can always just case bind the thing I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, I'm about halfway through setting up the race pages, then I have to figure out how I want to format the driver pages. But I might have to force myself to put that off until spring break starts in two weeks, because my assignments due before break are looking in dire shape...

If anyone has any comments/suggestions for a novice bookmaker I'm all ears!

Lundqvist gets second chance in IndyCar as Pagenaud remains unfit to drive | IndyCar

Reigning Indy Nxt champion Linus Lundqvist has been called up by IndyCar team Meyer Shank Racing for a second successive week to stand in for the injured Simon Pagenaud. Lundqvist will race the number 60 car on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course this weekend. It follows an impressive debut for the 24-year-old last weekend on the streets of Nashville where he qualified 11th, rose to third mid-race and later set the fastest lap. He was running in 13th place when he crashed out with 11 laps to go. “First I want to say a massive thank you to Mike [Shank] and Jim [Meyer] for their trust to put me back in the car again,” said Lundqvist. “The Nashville weekend was great in so many ways. Obviously, a lot of impressions and a lot of new stuff for me going on that weekend and I was pretty disappointed with the way that it ended. It was my mistake and I enjoyed it up until that point. “I think it also left me and the team wanting more, which I am grateful for another opportunity at Indy. I know it is going to be tough again, but now I have a whole race weekend under my belt. Hopefully we can string some good results together and find some good speed, but I feel like it is going to be a super weekend.” Since his crash in practice at Mid-Ohio over a month ago, Pagenaud has been nursing concussion-like symptoms and has not been medically cleared by IndyCar’s medical team to return to the cockpit. The IMS race will be the sixth in a row he has missed, and the 2016 champion now sits a lowly 27th in the championship standings. However his team mate Helio Castroneves, who has contested every race so far, is not doing much better as he is 20th in the standings with a best finish of tenth. During his absence Pagenaud’s place was previously taken by Conor Daly in Mid-Ohio and the Iowa double-header, and by Tom Blomqvist in Toronto.
