This line in the Amidah (m’chayeh hameitim - you give life to the dead) is one of my favorite lines in all the liturgy. There are so many ways it can be interpreted. In the Talmud, we learn that this is also the prayer one should say when they’ve seen someone again after 12 months.

But what if the person we haven’t seen in forever is ourselves? What happens when we no longer recognize ourselves in the mirror? I drew this earlier in the year, when things seemed really bleak. But when I look back on it now, I notice there’s a hope to it. It speaks to a strong belief that one day I’d see myself again, even if it took a long time.
