Chestnuts

Chestnuts are among my favorite Christmas fare. Nat King Cole's song served as the catalyst for everything, and you've undoubtedly heard the opening line of "The Christmas Song"—"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire." I was curious to give this nut a taste, so I did. Since then, I've become addicted. What say you, too? Would you mind sharing your preferred holiday snack?

Chestnuts are my favorite ingredient to use in the fall, especially for the holidays. I always find that they are meaty, hearty and have a mysterious refinement when cooked or roasted over sea salt.

i am very averse to "look at how much this thing sucks. let me shove said sucky thing in your face and laugh at how it sucks and cultivate an environment of suckiness" posting but the reaction to this i'm having is so severe and making my head explode that i have to share it. likewise because it doubles as an excuse to post a Good Thing alongside with it.

i just stumbled upon the Alvin's Harmonica segment from The Alvin Show and I LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT IT'S SO CUTE AND CHARMING. i like that Alvin tortures Dave even in his subconscious like some sort of horrible inverse of Jiminy Cricket. love the layout work and everything about this is extremely charming

and so now, having instilled that Goodness into your brains, i now ask you to look at this instead which got recommended to me. WHAT DID THEY DOOOOOOOOOOO TO THEMMMMMMMMMMMMM. THIS IS MAKING MY SKIN CRAWL. WHY DO THEY SOUND LIKE THAT. WHY ARE SIMON AND THEODORE MAD, IN THE ORIGINAL THEY ARE GLEEFULLY COMPLACENT IN ALVIN'S ANTICS AS THEY SHOULD BE. AH!!!!!! i. oh my goodness. for the record i am not Genuinely outraged at this Good Chipmunk Erasure because that would be even more stupid than the above clip. but this just elicited such a violently bewildered and shocked reaction out of me and appeals perfectly to my cartoon masochism in that i absolutely eat up stuff that makes me go "WTF" that i had to share. this is making me hyper from how. whatever this is. i hate it and its existence is so funny to me #NOTMYALVIN

Harry made a deal with Voldemort and anyone he considers family is off limits. So Harry has started going around calling everyone his son.

He walks up to Neville and shouts “You’re now my son. You hear that world? THIS IS MY BOY RIGHT HERE! MY LITTLE MANDRAKE BABY.” Then he walks away and Neville just nods to himself because Harry does odd things sometimes.

Later Harry is running down the halls at Hogwarts and practically throws himself into Luna Lovegood. Harry announces “You are my son now, and I’m very proud of you.” Before kissing her gently on the top of her head and running away again. Luna waves her hand, offering an airy “goodbye father” as he disappears downs the hall.

In the great hall later you can hear Draco Malfoy shouting “No, Potter! Stay away, don’t do it! NooooOOOOOOO!” The rest of the term Harry calls Draco his little dragon and praises him for his amazing intellect and school grades.

Harry and Snape have a glaring contest, Snape is practically daring Harry to do it with his eyes.

Dumbledore calls Harry “my boy” and Harry does the old reverse uno card and Dumbledore nods, eyes twinkling as Harry corrects him stating “You’re my boy now!”

Harry won’t stop, and he’s claiming so many people as his sons that the students in the lower years have started referring to him as Papa Harry.

It’s become a weird cult thing in the media because of Rita Skeeter, and people have begun sending Harry mail asking to be his son and Harry just sits there, so proud of himself.

I found a cute 3 inch nutcracker for $2 at a thrift store and decided to give it a makeover for fun :) I really love this game and this enemy, so now I have a one of a kind figure! painting over sequins was an interesting challenge... I used sculpey for the gun and hat visor!
