Well. I agree that the NCT-fandom is very divided. Solo-stanning culture is one of the reasons, the other one is the lack of a strong group-oriented platform ran in English. Managing a group fanclub is a big task. Reposting official twits between comebacks is not a real fandom activity/generating of original content that brings fans together. To collect money the collector needs authority. There won't be much trust in NCT 127 Central if fans hear about it once a year (wasn't it the account that asked fans if they want to boycott Golden Age, or smth?). X stops to show posts from the accounts you are subscribed but don't engage with as well. Which results in lower reach.

Fans can buy i-tunes and more albums themselves, without a middleman. The same goes for streaming on Spotify. Chinese bars offer additional merch for those who purchase albums with them. Indonesian, Thai clubs are very organised, they easily collect money for charities and support projects for concerts. There needs to be a connection with the organiser, and some return of investment in the form of positive feelings.

Look at Lin. Despite her popularity and dedication to her account, the fundriser for Melon for Doyoung wasn't very successful. Maybe in part because Lin didn't have time, so the campaign wasn't very advertised.

I was a part of organisation comitee of anime-festivals. I know first-hand how difficult it is to make people be involved in something made for them for free, let alone when they need to pay, how ungrateful fans are to orgs' efforts, how forgetful about deadlines, staying in contact, etc.

Making one post with a huge sum as the goal and hoping that everyone will commit rarely works. The crowd needs to be warmed up, hyped, unified. A big campaign is needed for people to regret they are nto part of the fun.

Back to NCTzens being divided. These whining posts that further antagonize solo-fans, constant squabbles, fans looking for the worst in each other, "my bias is great yours is a dozen" is part of what led to this reality. And anyone who participates in producing/distributing these fanwar/shipwar/stanwar inducing twits is to blame as well. You reap what you saw.

I heard today that attention is the main coin in the world. Attention lies in the base of the political life, economy, processes of human mental activity, etc. And people who think they are powerless and are not responsible for the changes and status quo in the world around them forget that it is them who decide to what people (politicians, fans) and to what topics (policies, fan content) they give their attention. Attention is power.

Anyhow! Don't be discouraged by the mood in the part of the fandom you see (which is just a fraction of it). Enjoy the comeback and the content we are given. Buy albums, stream, vote - do whatever you can on whatever scale you have time and money for.

Remember that neos love their group, invested half of their lives into it, that the group is the main source of income and solo opportunities for all of them. Not even Taeyong is bigger than the brand.

Both Haechan and Doyoung talked about how they are afraid of not being able to perform on big stages anymore in the future. And very very few solo-artists k-pop are able to get themselves domes.

“Shockingly, I have never seen this van break down. And honestly even I don’t know how; it defies all logic. But, eh, so do most things about Barley so I’m just used to it.” Ian could at least say that; he wasn’t actually worried about the van suddenly keeling over. But, he did have a plan for that, just in case. “And even if that happens it’ll be fine, I’ll just call Seamus; he can fix anything.”

A fact Ian had learned from already needing to test that theory on many occasions when something around the apartment broke; if he couldn’t figure it out himself it was always just a phone call and shortly after a grumpy Scotsman spending half the day showing him how to fix the problem. Ian assumed that also would extend to van troubles, if need be.

He was more concerned about his own driving being a hazard than the van hitting a hitch or dying on the trip; but he kept telling himself that practicing was a necessary evil.

Ashlee let out a small laugh before she nodded. She wasn’t about talk about the van and cause it to break down just based on spite. “You don’t think you’ll actually have to call him to come fix it will you?” Ashlee wasn’t about to sit on the side of the road for hours waiting for someone to fix the mess than was this van.

Jim’s loyalty is by no means easy to win. The world is hard, cruel, and unforgiving. He learned the difficult way to trust no one; people are likely to turn their back on you, or commit some equally disappointing act against you. Until Jim went through the enhancement program and met Khan, he’d been loyal to only himself. In his eyes, no one could earn his trust -- no one demonstrated their worth to him. However, Khan proved himself an incredible leader time and time again. He impressed Jim in a way others failed to. As time went on, Jim found himself surprised by how committed he’d become to his captain and their cause. When the test of loyalty finally came, Jim didn’t hesitate to accept Khan’s offer of first officer. 

How far they’d come in the months since then. Now, instead of battle plans spread out before them, there were plans for space travel. Jim, who’d always held onto a bit of his optimistic idealism, was thrilled with the idea. 

The rest of the crew had long retired to their rooms, leaving on the captain and first officer to iron out the plans for the expedition. There were plenty of complicated, moving parts to keep the duo busy for hours, and with their deadline fast approaching they could use all the brilliance Khan and Kirk brought to the table. Plans and ideas were flowing smoothly for the most part; however, Jim remained unsatisfied as he so often is. Something nagged at him, feeding nto his doubts and making him second-guess all their hard work. He sighed as he pushed away from the table and took his coffee cup back ot the pot, topping it off with the caffeine he certainly doesn’t need -- just enjoys. His mutations do plenty on their own for maintaining his focus. 

Around Khan and no one else, Jim is unguarded. His body language is open, a demonstration of the trust he has in his captain. It’s clear from the tension in his shoulders and the weary expression on his features that something is weighing on Jim. There’s something they’ve overlooked in all their careful planning; he feels sure of it. As much as he’d like to shake the feeling and reassure himself they’ve considered every possibility, he simply can’t. 

Jim paces back over to the table and hovers around it, keen, bright blue eyes darting over the plans as he considers them for perhaps the millionth time. “I think we should run the math again,” Jim finally announces. He turns towards Khan and leans against the table, waiting for his commander’s reaction.

“We have not entered into this decision lightly,” Skydance Media CEO David Ellison informed his employees — and therefore, the press — about the decision on January 9, 2019, to hire disgraced Pixar head John Lasseter to fill the animation group president position that was not currently vacant. 

When Skydance announced its plan to move beyond its video games and live-action productions and into animated features in October 2017, the production company tapped DreamWorks Animation veteran Bill Damaschke. No news of Damaschke’s plans to leave have been announced except what Ellison explained today as part of the bigger (more controversial) announcement. 

“Bill Damaschke will be transitioning from his current role, and we are hopeful he will choose to remain within the Skydance family.”

The memo, which can be read in full here, mentions the “extensive investigation” and careful evaluation of Lasseter’s previous conduct, which I imagine includes not just a record of what complaints he received before his forced sabbatical and departure from Disney-Pixar but also of how much money ($11 billion box office for Pixar alone) and fame he raked in for the group during his tenure... That is, after all, how businesses make money. 

It seems Skydance chooses to risk what Disney-Pixar cannot, to give a “second” chance to the “storyteller” whose “art transcends generations and cultures” as the group tries to get their animation division off the ground.

I would like to see them also focusing on making the animation industry a safer place for victims of “inappropriate conduct” and other euphemisms of harassment. 

While reports of Lasseter’s conduct were certainly enough to have family companies like Disney showing him the door, no news of legal action has been reported, so it’s hard to say what the extent of Lasseter’s “misconduct” entails. Skydance reports that they investigated Lasseter as well, and they’re taking a chance on his attempts in the past year to “address and reform” his mistakes. 

It may pay off. I desperately want it to go well, for the rest of the employees’ sakes.

According to Deadline, Lasseter also laid out his wishes for a brighter future at Skydance:

“I have spent the last year away from the industry in deep reflection, learning how my actions unintentionally made colleagues uncomfortable, which I deeply regret and apologize for. It has been humbling, but I believe it will make me a better leader.

“I join Skydance with the same enthusiasm that drove me to help build Pixar, with a firm desire to tell original and diverse stories for audiences everywhere. With what I have learned and how I have grown in the past year, I am resolute in my commitment to build an animation studio upon a foundation of quality, safety, trust and mutual respect.”

Lasseter begins work in the Los Angeles office later this month. Skydance Animation’s films “Luck,” “Split” and “Powerless” are still in pre-production.

W: No, I don't think he would be. Win rubs elbows with high-profile people often for his job, so I do not see him being a "starstruck" type.

I: Generally, Winston is organized. Sometimes it can be a bit chaotic, but usually everything has a place and it's all fairly neat and tidy. There will be times when he's had stuff going on - deadlines, meetings, etc. - that papers will be everywhere, but that's that's he has Tony there to remind him about haha

N: Winston is not usually clumsy, no.

S: When Winston is sorry, his apologies are through his actions, not just his words. He shows them how sorry he is by making sure he knows enough about them to be that thoughtful. Granted, if he ever did hurt someone badly enough you need a huge apology, Win wouldn't just be talking to them about it anyway. It would hurt him more, I think.

T: Win is definitely my crier at of the four. He isn't super prone to it, but he can get a good cry going for a movie or book.

O: Oh Winston has changed a ton! He's left his abusive ex boyfriend behind, grown his company to start branching into Magick-hostile territories, and his base of operations is in NTO. His parents have passed, as well, which is incredibly unfortunate, but Winston's had more positives than negatives happen, for sure.

Economy & Policy News The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has released amendments to the New Tariff Order (NTO), in which it has directed cable operators to provide 200 channels for Rs 153. It has also reviewed the pricing of channel bouquets compared to a la carte ones.

The regulator has now set January 15 as the deadline for broadcasters to announce their new pricing structure. At present, direct-to-home (DTH) or cable TV operators provide only 100 channels for a network capacity fee (NCF) levy of Rs 153 (Rs 130 excluding taxes).

We would all assume that he would be with his Rosellia, but instead he is here. When he told May that he couldn't enter he found out that she was entering.

Drew went to go see May at her contest and that is adorable to me.

Now for Jessie and Timmy's battle.

Timmy sends out Dustclops and Jessie sends out Dustox. Dostox uses whirlwind. While the whirlwind is still going on Dustclops uses Shadow Punch and it lands a direct hit. Jessie lost some points, and so then decided to use Psybeam. It landed a direct hit as well and Timmy lost the same amount of points.

Mr. and Mrs. Grim are both watching the contest. Mr. Grim brought her here in order to show her that he should do contests. He asks her when was the last time she ever saw him so focused and determined. She doesn't respond but I am pointing this out because I really like Timmy's dad.

Dustox uses Psybeam, and Dustclops uses psychic.

This happens and it is pretty.

this goes on for a while until both beams just explode and for some reason the dust takes off Jessie's stupid costume and it shows that she is a team Rocket member.

Then James and Meowth say they want to steal Pokemon and Ash uses Pikachu and they are gone.

I didn't even watch the episode when I said that I just predicted it and I was right.

The timer ran out and Timmy won anyways.

Tommy has successfully convinced his wife that Timmy should keep Pokemon training.

Tommy tells everybody about when Mrs. Grim liked Pokemon. (Oh how I wish I knew her first anime, then this would all be so much easier.)

When she was younger, she was the only child of a wealthy family, and so she was expected to take over the family bussnuise. She had to grow up fast, nto being able to ejoy her childhood as much. Her parents took away things that they saw as childish, like her pet Poocheanna that she used to have when she was around seven. She wasn't allowed to interact with Pokemon after that, and has grown up like that. She likes Pokemon, but she thought that if he never interacted with Pokemon that he wouldn't fall in love witht hem, and never need to suffer the pain she did when she had to let go of her Poocheana.

Another reason I like these two episodes is becuase of how real the situation seems. I could go and rant about it... and I might??? I said in an earlier post about even though this is mostley a kids show there are also things that you pick up on when you get older. Some of these you notice as a kid but only really start to think about when you get older. This is one of those.

Timmy got his mask back and sent out his Dusclops. May sends out Skitty. Dustclops uses focus punch and it hits Skitty in the head. May then decides to try and use double-slap, but then Max yells at her that it won't work becuase that is a normal move. Then he uses focus punch, and May gets the idea to use double slap on the ball of dangerous like heading towards Skitty and send it back to Dusclops. This works, and Timmy losses some points. Dustclops uses Will-O-Wisp with psychic, just like in the first round, and aims them towards Skitty. Skitty can't find a way to escape and May looses a bunch of points. May tries using tackle, but before the useless attack hits Dustclops, he uses hyper-beam and May looses a lot more points. May tries her chances and calls out for blizzard. Sadly, it fails and Dustclops is unaffected. Dustclops uses hyper beam, May looses points. All of her friends think that she is going to lose and feel bad, and the anime sets it up as if she is going to lose. Timmy calls out hyper beam and...

then she calls out assist.

To everybody's surprise it works! The asisst became gust and deflects the hyper-beam.

And Drew is impressed becuase Assist doesn't usually work becuase of how random it can be.

Dustclops tries to get back by using focus punch, and Skitty uses assist. It turns into string shot, and somehow wraps around the ball of light???

Well that was pretty.

Then Timmy's mom encourages to keep battling c:

Dustclops uses Will-O-Wisp and Skitty uses assist, this time it is Ember. Both the Wisps and the ember disappear when they hit each other. This counts as a victory on May's part and she gets points. Before Timmy calls out another attack, Skitty uses assist. It becomes silver wind and before it hits Dustclops he uses psychic and the silver wind disappears.

There are 30 seconds left and they have tied points.

Dustclops uses hyper-beam and Skitty uses Blizzard.

To everybody's shock, it works! Dustclop's hyper beam and Skitty's blizzard go back towards Dustclops and he is blown backwards. Skitty wins!

-Conclusion-

Unlike the last episode, this one I actually didn't mind reviewing. Odd sense the reason I complained in the last episode is becuase there wasn't any Drew and I had to spend five hours on the "Contestshipping" Review anyways. There was even less Drew in this episode. Maybe I didn't mind becuase this one only took me three hours instead of five becuase it was mostly battles and I like watching the battles. I like the episode and I didn't mind reviewing it as much.

Filing a Mechanics Lien in Florida

Florida law offers strong lien rights for general contractors and suppliers. Providing that correct paperwork is in place if a contractor isn’t paid for a job, they are able to file a lien to receive payment as well as protecting themselves. In cases of non-payment, there are requirements that need to be fulfilled and a strict process followed.

These are 3 important things you need to know about the mechanics lien law in Florida:

1) The Notice to Owner is a Strict Requirement

A preliminary notice (referred to as the Notice to Owner) needs to be delivered as soon as possible after the first labor or materials are provided. For parties who do not contract directly with the property owner, they must serve a Notice to Owner within 45 days of providing labor or materials to the project. The two exceptions are for individual wage-laborers as well as design professionals (such as architects and engineers) who are not required to send an NTO.

There is also provision for property owners to request a list of subcontractors and suppliers from the general contractors. If the general contractor receives this request, they have 10 days from when the request is made to supply the list of subcontractors and suppliers that they have hired for the project.

Who receives the notice?

If you have been hired by the general contractor, the notice should be sent to the property owner.

If you were hired by a subcontractor, the notice should be sent to the property owner and the general contractor.

For those hired by a sub-subcontractor, the notice will need to be sent to the property owner, the general contractor as well as the subcontractor.

If you are involved in a construction project, and you don’t know who these parties are, help is at hand. Florida’s Notice to Owner law means that you can rely on publicly available information.

Importantly, when sending the Notice to Owner in Florida, it must be sent by Certified Mail, and a Return Receipt must be requested.

2) A Mechanics Lien Must Be Filed Within 90 Days From the Last One Doing Work (This Excludes Warranty Work)

Florida lien law is different from many other states in that mechanics lien claimants must record mechanics liens within 90 days from the last day that they did work on the project. The 90-day period starts from when the substantive portion of the work has been completed and does not include the correction of deficiencies in work, or warranty work. In the case of equipment rental companies, the count down starts from the last date that the equipment was on-site and available for use.

In most cases in Florida, the mechanics lien must be recorded with the Clerk of Court where the county maintains property records. The exception to this is where the county has a designated County Recorder who is responsible for property records. Before filing your lien, determine where it needs to be filed so that there is no confusion, and the lien is filed within the deadline.

3) Not All Parties Have Lien Rights in Florida

Mechanics lien law provides lien rights to general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, laborers, professionals, and equipment rental companies. In Florida, there is no requirement that you have a written contract in place in order to file a mechanics lien. But the following parties do not have rights to file a mechanics lien in Florida:

Suppliers to suppliers

Suppliers to sub-sub contractors

Sub-sub-subcontractors

Maintenance workers

Parties who should be licensed in Florida, but are working without a license
