Vinyl City’s Angel is here! Ready to strike you with her Cupid’s bow! She came onto the scene after the revolution to breathe fresh air into the music scene, no one was expecting this angel to rock the heavens! She may be new to NSR but this isn’t her first time at the rodeo! She’ll shock you with her wicked sick rifts and down right venomous tongue, blending the sweet love of j-pop with metal twists of screamo n rock!

NSR HEADCANONS/STRAWBERRY'S GLROIFIED FANFICTION PART ONE| MAYDAY'S FAMILY
Mayday's family’s names follow the naming convention of transitional months; months where one season transitions into another. Of course there's Mayday, Spring transitioning to summer, her father Augustus (August), Summer transitioning to Fall, her Grandmama Novidia (November), Fall transitioning into Winter, and finally her Mother Phoebe (February), Winter transitioning to Spring
Mayday got her love of rock from her father. He was a massive fan of The Goolings when they were still in power, and kept as much rock music as he could after they started to be phased out
Mayday takes a lot of her attitude from her father. He was always rambunctious, playful, and supportive of her, always reminding Mayday to “Never let the world change you”
Mayday's Grandmama Novidia is just as supportive and loving, and is unusually spry for her age. She usually acts as a mediator between her daughter and son-in-law, and loves them and her grandbaby with all her heart.
While Mayday takes her skin tone, hair color, and eye color from her dad, she shares almost the rest of her appearance with her mother…. And not much else.
Phoebe loves Mayday dearly, but she expresses it…. differently from her husband and mother.
She was the first to point out to Mayday that rock was becoming less and less popular, and tried to nudge her into trying other genres of music.
Phoebe also told Mayday that the only real way a musician could really make anything of themselves in the city would be the Lights Up Audition, and how unlikely being chosen would be. Not that this did anything to dissuade her, as Mayday would just have to be “the best rockstar there ever was!”
Over time, this constant insistence by her mother caused a rift between Mayday and Phoebe. Something that would not get any better when Mayday grew from a rambunctious kid into a rebellious teenager.
Phoebe was really starting to get worried. She loved how passionate Mayday was, but she just wouldn't see reason.
So, despite her husband’s and mother’s disapproval, she enrolled Mayday in the same boarding school she went to when she was a teenager.
Mayday just needed some discipline, that’s all. After all, she went to that exact school when she was young, and she was just fine.
This got really long really quickly so I'm going to break this up. Next part will be about Mayday's time in prison boarding school

I find myself really enjoying OSR/NSR systems like Cairn, or Durf, i like that their rules-lite, and have a lot of freedom for player/gm alike but find myself wanting classes with possible class abilities, or similar mechanics, I'm curious if you have any recommendations of that
THEME: Rules-lite Systems with Classes.
Some things to keep in mind: OSR games are stripped down to bare bones because character ingenuity (rather than brute force) is meant to take the forefront. This is why characters don’t usually have class abilities.
What I’m hearing you ask for is something that keeps light rules, in the same way OSR systems do, but still provides a way to differentiate characters from each-other. I don’t know if all of these suggested games can be classed as OSR or NSR, but they require the same amount of creativity to push the game forward.

24XX Tides Will Rise, by Tubatic.
A STORM IS COMING!
The crew finds themselves at a settlement preparing for a huge seasonal storm.  Using mechs like in that one movie with the aliens, or whatever you choose, help prepare the settlement to survive The Storm.
24XX Tides Will Rise is a microgame  / oneshot designed in the style of Jason Tocci's 2400, created for submission to the 24XX Jam.
24XX games are a distillation of OSR games, usually only about two pages or so, with dice that scale up or down in size depending on your character’s situation and aptitude. Your character will usually get a special ability related to their class, career, background, or in this version, Pilot Skill. There’s also a simplified money and gear system that gets you one or two pieces of useful items that are destined to break at some point, in order to reduce whatever harm you take. Tides Will Rise is about preparing your local settlement for an extreme weather event using giant mechs, but 24XX games could happen in nearly any setting, and are almost always deadly for your characters. If you want a quick game that you can learn and get up and running in less than 30 minutes, this is the game for you!
Hexfall, by titanomachyRPG.
You are a hyperpowered being who came into larger-than-life abilities because of a profound cataclysm. Heartbreak. Grief. The depths. Physical, emotional, multidimensional–something unlocked incredible power in you. People like you have many names across Stratus Cay, but the most common is “Diver,” a nickname derived from their affinity for falling through the Rift, either on dangerous jobs or just for fun.
Divers’ abilities run the gamut of even the wildest imaginations, and their extreme power and durability makes many of them reckless thrillseekers. The pay is too good and the thrills too extraordinary to turn down the opportunity to go on a dive.
What will you do, falling soul?
Hexfall uses Caltrop Core, a rules-lite system that requires 3d4 and that’s it. Like many OSR games, it uses a hex map that your characters will navigate as they fall through an inter dimensional space called the Rift, their movements and obstacles determined by the roll of the dice. The characters gain tokens as they fall, which act as player currency that can affect narrative beats or navigation rolls as you play. Finally, there are 12 playbooks that you can choose to represent your character: will you be a resilient Giantborn? A liberating MotherThawed? A masterful Myconaut? Each character playbook comes with special moves that only you can do.
High Magic Lowlives, by Gem Room Games.
High Magic Lowlives is a Post-Dungeon Fantasy Tabletop RPG about wizard school dropouts who get into trouble with the Immortal Aristocracy to make coin and build their #brand. Like old school RPGs this is a game about a crew of weirdos finding subterranean vaults filled with treasure, kicking down doors, beating up guards, setting off traps, and taking home as much coin as you can carry. Like new school RPGs the mechanics are simple, drive the story forward, and don't rely on a ton of preparation in advance.
Unlike any RPG you've ever played before you can get paid for livestreaming your fight against the jack-o-lantern queen of zabraxas. Your companions would probably prefer you help them survive the fight, but they'll forgive you when you capture their critical hit for all to see.
High Magic Lowlives uses a ruleset that is a combination of Powered by the Apocalypse, Forged in the Dark, and the Black Hack. Your lowlife has 6 attributes, which could range from 0 to 3. Each character also selects a General Deal, which grants you a special ability, such as access the local library, sweet-talk computers, or gather food in unlikely places. Similar to OSR games, there are tables and tables of items that you can use for conventional and non-conventional uses, and, in step with PbtA mechanics, there are graded levels of success when it comes to hitting things with a weapon. You also have Risk Dice, which deteriorate as you use them, lending the feeling of dwindling resources as you play. If you want a game of high risk, high reward, I recommend High Magic Lowlives!
Aetherway, by Jason Tocci.
Hit the road between worlds with a black cat, a clockwork assassin, a fallen star, and a pilgrim who huffs the ashes of a dead saint. Deliver lumber to communist skeletons living on the back of a gargantuan crab. Ride a comet to a party in the skull of a cosmic god that was converted to condos.
Aetherway is a quirky, planet-hopping RPG zine, compatible with both Tunnel Goons and Troika! Use it to improvise your own adventures, as set of extra Troika! backgrounds, as a conversion guide between Troika! and Tunnel Goons rules, or a bunch of random generators for any other game of planeswalking hijinks.
This is mostly another chance for me to talk about Troika again, because it’s a) a really funky setting, and b) a game that borrows a lot of elements from OSR-style games. You have random roll tables, backgrounds that give your characters skills and abilities, and an initiative order that leaves everything up to chance. However, you can also use Aetherway to play Tunnel Goons, which is a rules-lite game that contains much of the hallmarks of OSR.
Planet Dungeon, by Nathan Lathroum.
Ever since birth, the dungeon is all you’ve ever known. All you’ve ever seen. All you were ever meant to see. Who built the dungeon? Is there anything beyond it? How long has the world been trapped here? You can almost smell the fresh outside air. You can almost feel the heat of the sun. You can almost taste victory. But your journey is not over yet.
Ten floors of the dungeon remain. This is all that stands between you and the mythical surface of the Aboveworld. Does it truly exist, or is it merely legend? Is there still a world beyond these walls?
Planet Dungeon is a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) designed for 3 to 5 players. This book contains all of the rules, systems, and mechanics you will need to play. Additionally, Planet Dungeon requires two regular dice for each player and a singular deck of playing cards. Be warned: Planet Dungeon is not easy, and is intended for players willing to lose.
This game uses 2d6 and a deck of playing cards. As a table, you will create the planet you live on, and select backgrounds for your characters. Each background carries with it a pre-determined set of stats and a unique ability - including the Wretched, which starts woefully bereft of any ability, but has the chance to level up dramatically the first time you reach a boss in any given session. The rooms of each dungeon are determined by a card pulled from the deck, with the suit determining the type of the room. Cards also describe your death, should it happen, as well as what the end of the story looks like, once you escape. If you like simple rules and overwhelming odds, this might be worth checking out.
Lost Eons, by David Blandy.
LOST EONS is solarpunk sci-fantasy. In Lost Eons you will emerge from the darkness into a new light, one dominated by inscrutable and terrible forces you must seek to understand. Using this guide create a post-human character, ready to face the mysteries and dangers of a far future Earth.
LOST EONS is a fast but deep toolkit. Play instant no-prep one-shots and sustained campaigns. Discover beautiful and horrifying new adventures through evocative prompts and procedural generation. This game is no-maths and instantly playable. Mashing together 24XX and Blades in the Dark, gameplay is streamlined, flexible, fast and potentially brutal. Level-up through mutation, your body changing as you evolve. Character Playbooks let you create a character in seconds, yet have limitless customisation through play.
LOST EONS uses all of the basic dice types to tackle obstacles, depending on what you’re doing and what piece of equipment you use to help you. Like Blades in the Dark, this game uses clocks to track consequences, health and adventures, while similar to the grit of dungeon-delving games, the characters find their inventory slowly dwindling the longer they adventure. Survival is difficult in this post-human future. At character creation, you choose one of six different archetypes that will give you a set of skills and a unique talent. If you’re looking for new approaches to play while holding on to some of the tone of OSR games, LOST EONS may be a good fit for you.

I'm back at it at Krispy Kreme but this time I had something come to mind which involved what you said about Kliff and Tatiana in your last response about them going their separate ways after they sort things out with each other. This does involve some concepts from my OFA AU too so my mind is going all over for this one (don't mind me lol-)
Kliff and Tatiana have their own separate lives and have their own families, Kliff being with Artemis and eventually having their daughter and son (Orion and Prince Astral) and Tatiana being with Olive and their 3 daughters come along over the years (Titanium Qwartz, Sonya Fyra, and Rosie). Everything's all fine and dandy until the sudden reveal comes out of nowhere that Sonya (Tatiana's middle child/daughter) and Orion (Kliff's oldest and only daughter) are dating and these two lovebirds have no idea about their parents past history with each other which makes it even 10x more chaotic-
I'm sure the reaction from both Kliff and Tatiana would both be extremely shocked, while Artemis and Olive try everything they can to make sure their spouse doesn't do anything drastic. Asides from being shook, Kliff and Tatiana might also learn about all the shenanigans the girls have gotten into with their bandmates which include the following:
-Flooding an entire waterpark while shooting a music video (in which they got banned from going to afterwards)
-Causing a fire in the NSR Tower break room because Mason forgot to remove the aluminum foil covering his food in the microwave but thankfully it was put out quickly (and Danny made sure to remind Mason to remove any foil from that point forward before putting food in the microwave)
-Orion hacking into a satellite and having an album of Burning Constellation (the name of the band btw) being blasted throughout Vinyl City for 2 whole weeks until everyone got tired of it
-Holding a party when Titanium left town to take care of something at the NSR Tower which got out of hand and pictures got leaked to the internet (nobody got hurt but Titanium was very mad when she got back)
-Orion summoning Kul Fyra's guitar out of nowhere via her own dark magic, her bandmates are cool with it but it catches everyone else off guard since she somehow has it and is now playing it as her own instrument, plus she plays the most sick guitar rifts that no one else has been able to do in the history of rock (Sonya gave her the guitar because the band needed a guitarist and Orion was showing some skills via practice on her old guitar-)
And of course the one incident where the band accidentally blew up the Grand Qwasa and caused a blackout before getting into a 2 hour long police chase is the most famous out of all their chaotic mischief since they ended up getting arrested for that one- Titanium was the one to bail them out of jail and despite being at a "loss for words" she proceeded to yell at them on how reckless they had been for the next 30 minutes. (I'm certain Tatiana would be very upset about that one-)
So yeah Kliff and Tatiana end up getting back into contact with each other because of their daughters' relationship and probably end up breaking the news to the girls about their past history which they surprisingly take it well and understand. Bonus if during this conversation Prince Astral attempts to sneak out of the room quietly since he wants no part of this and ends up tripping and falling to the floor flat on his face which causes everyone to see the poor boy on the floor- Rosie also shows up and is a very confused bean but Titanium manages to convince her little sister to wait until everyone is finished talking with each other.
Sorry if this is a bit lengthy I let the brain rot take over for this ask- But I hope you get a good laugh out of this silly concept of Kliff and Tatiana meeting once again due to the circumstances of their daughters being together.
H-how did Tatiana and Kliff not know all this about their kids yet!? Those two need to stop kissing their SOs and keep better eyes on their kids! /j
Also, I know this was meant for the FRAU Re-revolution timeline, but all I can think about is Orion just magically stealing the guitar from Mayday while she is performing lol
Anyway, yeah I do find that pretty funny that they cross paths again. I'm assuming they would have just because of Olive and Artemis, but I guess their spouses knew not to bring them to the same place when hanging out with each other.
It make me think a lot of Romeo and Juliet with the star-crossed lovers, except of everyone dying at the end they get a nice happy ending!
I can definitely see a few scare moments with FRAU Tatiana might having yelled or lost her anger for a moment after the reveal, but she just looks at Olive which calms her down and then they have their little chat or whatever.
Also, again, these kids (teens?) need to be watched so much better! THEY FLOODED A WHOLE WATERPARK! FOR A VIDEO!!! omfg XD

"if you want more specifics on each member..." me who is literally super hyper fixated on them: 🧍/J/NSRS
Honestly, love these opinions, pretty much align with mine<33
Although, bc I am stupidly fixated on them, I honestly don't agree much with Jasmine and Thomas's to a degree. I strongly believe they'll end up helping as well, it'll just take a bit.
Jasmine- Once we see her way of thinking (AKA thought bubble), then she's deemed trustworthy in my eyes. She definitely isn't fully aware of what Maverick has in store for EVERYONE (he's definitely using her to keep himself safe from the rift)
Thomas- we had seen him think before, even when he saw her shadow. But after that we never saw him think again. I feel like somethings off, and possibly that's not...well, him in control.
Maybe perhaps he is possessed by a phantom variant? Who knows.
also, ty for complimenting the ship name <333 (I came up with it myself) and also I understand needing to see more (I'm just weird and can already see them without needing more content</3) ty for answering my question<3333
Opinions on the cranes? And opinion on RosePunch (Ryan x Alex)
i find the cranes interesting. i like how mysterious they’re portrayed in the webtoon but i really hope we get more explanations and closure on who’s the real villain. it’s more obviously the cranes but their manipulation tactics towards the kids really make you question. it’s interesting to watch and i can’t wait to see how everything unfolds afterwards. i hope this makes sense 😭 if you want more specifics on each member we know so far…
jasmine - i like her design. she’s pretty and her personality gives like “idc what you guys do as long as i’m getting paid for it” type of vibes. i don’t think she really cares about the children or what’s really the “good” decision. i think she’s just there to see things play out.
ryan - i trust him i think. the way he warned alex to tell ashlyn something was off about maverick.. he definitely has more compassion compared to the rest of them. hopefully that doesn’t lead to his death or anything..!!
maverick - i don’t think he has good intentions at all, especially with that interaction with ben and how ryan literally warned others not to trust him. he gives me bad vibes.
mr thomas - i knew something was off about him since he saw ashlyn’s shadow. i just didn’t think he’d turn out THAT twisted. and that panel where he sticks the needle in ashlyn’s arm actually sent chills through me when i first read it, it was so well done. we haven’t seen him in a while in the webtoon so i wonder what’s happening there…
as for rosepunch, i don’t have any strong opinions towards the ship. i don’t hate it i think its cute and i can see why people ship it (i also like the ship name), but id need to see more content of them before i decide fully.

I AM LOVING YOUR OC X TATIANA.
They are so soft and make my heart meltm Tho, I've noticed the X on the picture of Kul Fyra on one of your drawings 👁️👁️ . . are we talking about angst ?
1. THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH DUDE 🥺🥺
2. ohohohohho.
the band splitting is also when kul fyra and clover split; the fight was THAT nasty. fame had sort of been driving a wedge between everyone in their last year or so. i haven’t worked out all the kinks yet, but the rift has to do with the forming of the NSR and the Grand Kwasa and ends up with the Goolings’ reputation dragged through the mud.
the split was mutually agreed on, but left both kul fyra and clover pretty devastated. while fyra plunges herself into work, clover drifts from place to place trying to find a new calling. she gets a bit reckless in this time and blames some of the issues she encountered (unable to find new music work, losing a lot of possesions while travelling, things like that) due to that on her breakup, and the bitterness builds from there.
what hurts most of all, of course, is remembering a talk she and kul fyra had right after the Goolings’ first big concert, years and years ago:
clover: “I think we’re gonna live forever.”
kul fyra: “...What do you mean?”
clover: “What we’re doing here? People are gonna remember this night, as we are, for ages! This version of ourselves will be in music history, even when we grow old together we’ll be remembered like this.”
kul fyra: “...Together?”
clover: “Well, yeah... I’d hope so.”
kul fyra: “I can’t wait, then. We’ll be old and have many nights like this to look back on.”
that conversation, to the both of them, was a subtle first admission of love. this was just before they had become girlfriends, and the growing tension was getting harder to ignore. they had promised to grow old together then and there, and that promise, like many others at the end of their relationship, was broken. as clover was going through old photos, she recalled this conversation and began to destroy said photos.
