Experience the world of tea with Tea Journeys and Amex
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/experience-the-world-of-tea-with-tea-journeys-and-amex/
Experience the world of tea with Tea Journeys and Amex
From China to New South Wales’ south coast, Tea Journeys wants to bring the world of tea to their customers, proudly backed by American Express.
A chance encounter with a monk sparked a life-changing journey for Australian adventurer Mark Thirlwall, the founder of artisanal tea brand Tea Journeys.
In 2001, Mark left Australia to work in China as a tour guide. On a trek to the peak of Yellow Mountain in Anhui Province in eastern China, Mark became separated from his group.
Lost in a fog, the Aussie was discovered by a monk, who led him to his monastery and served Mark a cup of freshly harvested Yellow Mountain tea.
It was the start of a lifelong passion for tea. Mark created Tea Journeys, a brand proudly dedicated to sharing the unique flavours and health benefits of tea with the world.
Introducing the Tea Journeys Pride blend
Based in Nowra on New South Wales’ south coast, Tea Journeys imports and manufactures over 50 varieties of organic black tea, green tea and non-caffeinated, naturally blended herbal teas.
“In 2025 we’re adding three new blends to our range. The one that I’m most excited about is the Pride Blend,” Mark says.
“A close friend of mine and his partner came up with the unique blend of herbs, added to a green tea grown in Australia”
After battling an auto-immune disease as a teenager, Mark is passionate about sharing the health benefits of tea.
“Tea can be like a yoga session for your internal organs and state of health,” he explains.
“Our goal is to help people understand the wonders of tea, and how it can help you feel your best.
“Tea brings people together, irrespective of their backgrounds, physicality, beliefs or sexuality.”
Ethically and sustainably sourced
Tea Journeys’ diverse selection of premium teas is ethically and sustainably sourced from across Asia as well as Australian tea farms.
For Mark, immersing customers in the cultural heritage of each blend is just as important as what’s in the cup.
“Each of our brands is accompanied by a rich and authentic heritage linked to its history, traditions, and process that goes into making them,” he said.
“This cultural connection transforms tea drinking from simply savouring a cup into a journey of discovery.”
Since the very beginning, Tea Journeys has been deeply committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
“The company partners with tea estates and cooperatives that practice sustainable farming and support local communities,” Mark says.
“We continually return to the small tea villages to witness the artisan methods that go into tea production. We want to bring these stories to life and share them with the tea drinker.”

WILLIAM KAMM
WILLIAM KAMM ‘Little Pebble’
1950
CULT LEADER WHO WAS FOUND GUILTY OF SEX ASSAULT ON UNDERAGE GIRLS
Kamm was born in Cologne, West Germany and has been legally married three times.
Kamm is the cult leader of Order of St Charbel in Nowra, NSW, Australia. The group is a some-what Catholic movement and his followers believe he is a prophet and he has claimed that the Virgin Mary sends him messages. Kamm has made numerous prophecies which have never come true, he claimed Pope John Paul II would make him a bishop, after the pope died he then changed it to Pope Benedict XVI.
One of the messages that Kamm said the Virgin Mary gave him, was that he must take numerous wives to re-populate the earth. Kamm groomed, manipulated, assaulted and raped underage girls. He preys on his follower’s daughters by writing them sleazy letters and telling them that the Virgin Mary wants them to have sex and to be one of his wives.
In 1994, he drove a girl aged 14 to a hotel in order to rape her, whilst at the hotel she refused his advances and he became angry with her. When she returned home she told her mother and her mother told her she should do as he wants with her as it was ‘God’s will’. A month later he returned to the hotel and raped her.
He also preyed on a follower’s teenage daughter, he would pick her up at college and would then sexually assault her. Kamm’s letters and diary entries were made public during the trial which contained evidence of this crime.
Kamm was found guilty in 2005 of rape and assault and served nine years imprisonment and was released in 2015. Many of Kamm’s followers remained loyal to him.
Kamm’s supervision order ended in 2021 and he was able to return to his property. Kamm wasn’t permitted to have unsupervised contact with anybody under the age of 18. When he was released he remarried one of his followers and changed his name to William Costellia.
In 2021, Kamm, aged 71 was placed behind bars after allegedly contacting teenage girls via social media, by using his wife’s Facebook account to send them messages. He used a Wordpress blog and deleted his browser history.
In 2022, he pled guilty in a Sydney court and was released after serving one year behind bars.
