When I was rewatching the 1989 Little Mermaid earlier this year, I watched the fire reach the kegs marked "Powder" and I went, "Oh hey look, it's a Fluffernutter!"
So I had to draw it. Skipped a few frames, but I enjoyed the practice!
The Mighty Nein have such bad luck with their ships. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MIGHTY NEIN ANIMATED SERIES - I TEAR UP EVERY TIME I SEE THE COMMERCIAL.
Image descriptions and a small rant below the cut!
[Image Description Start: a sketchy series of Mighty Nein (Xhorhas outfits from Level 10) storyboards mimicking Eric's ship crashing in the 1989 Little Mermaid.
PICTURE ONE: Panel 1: Beau and Caleb stand aboard a ship as the clouds beyond grow darker and a bolt of lightning streaks across the sky.
Panel 2: "STAND FAST! SECURE THE RIGGING!" Yasha yells from above.
Panel 3: Another bolt of lightning hits the mainmast, and the sails catch fire.
Panel 4: "JUMP NOTT! JUMP!" Caleb stands amid the pouring rain, holding his arms upward.
Panel 5: "YASHA - YASHA HELP!" "I got you! Hold on!" Nott flounders in the water next to the lifeboat, and Yasha scoops her up in one giant arm.
Panel 6: Caleb tugs at his leg, his foot stuck in a broken part of the deck. The fire is spreading around him, and the rain continues to pour in torrents.
Panel 7: "CALEB!" Caduceus, Jester and Nott look up from the lifeboat.
Panel 8: Caleb turns to look back, as the fire reaches the quarter deck.
Panel 9: Two kegs marked "Fluffernutter" in Jester's calligraphy and the Tusktooth logo start to catch fire.
Panel 10: The deck of the ship explodes.
Panel 11: Yasha, Beau, Caduceus, Jester and Nott gape in horror, the light of the explosion illuminating their faces.
Panel 12: In the water below, Fjord gasps.
PICTURE TWO: Uk'otoa the Sea Serpent rises up above the waves, his multiple eyes glowing in the darkness. "SO MUCH FOR TRUE LOVE!!"
End Image Description]
TRIGGER WARNING FOR A SHORT DISCUSSION OF HOSPITALIZATION AND SURGERY
Soooo the last half of this year was a freakin' STRUGGLE. I got into a car accident in August, which then triggered a hiatal hernia that led to me getting emergency stomach surgery. I swear it was one thing after another for WEEKS, and I was exhausted. Thankfully, I didn't have any loss of motor function, but I didn't do art for a solid three months. My creativity was at an all-time low, and I was focused on mastering walking around on crutches more than I was at holding a pencil.
Getting back into the swing of it was a little shaky, but it's improving! Hoping to do more art and posting it online. Expect more doodly sketches this coming year instead of finished pieces. But also, look for new designs coming to my RedBubble account!

Is This Your Card? Part 4: There’s Been a Murder
((The morning after the party, the District Attorney wakes up with a hangover and some concerns. Neither of which are helped by the discovery of their host’s body and the arrival of a bizarre lightning storm. (A lot of the dialogue here and in future parts is straight from WKM, with some different context and a few changes here and there.)
Warning for mentions of death and implied blood/body examination.
Links to Parts 1, 2, and 3.))
You laid there in the darkness beneath the sheets with the comforter pulled over your head for several minutes after you changed back, heart hammering as the events of last night pressed in with one clear, missing gap: exactly when you went from human to wolf.
Slowly, you eased your head up, blinking in the sunlight streaming in to a bedroom you didn’t recognize. It was eight thirty, and your sensitive ears didn’t pick up on any screaming or whispering going on outside your door that might suggest people outside were discussing what to do about the werewolf in the room.
Werewolf.
It wasn’t just the hangover that made your stomach twist and turn. The thought of that card, that single word, left you very glad you hadn’t eaten much last night.
Who knew?
Who would go through such a bizarre series of steps just to…what? Out you to the others in the house? Blackmail you?
Your card.
You looked down at your clothes and felt a moment of panic before you spotted your jacket hanging neatly on the back of a nearby chair. Despite the very real hangover, you were up and across the room in seconds, breathing a sigh of relief when you felt the shape of the envelope in the pocket.
Hanging up the jacket, that wasn’t something you did, so that meant someone else. Damien?
You tried to take a sniff of the clothing only to wince and gag at even the hint of that awful cologne Mark had been wearing last night. A vague memory of Mark throwing his arm around your shoulder, laughing so hard he could barely stand, came to mind and you sighed, only for it to turn into a cough when you breathed the scent in again.
Right, so that would be a no on the jacket then. You slipped your hand into the pocket and pulled out the envelope inside, only to shove it straight into your pants pocket when you heard the sound of someone in the hallway. Better to keep it on you than let someone else find it by accident.
You reached the open door just as Benjamin, the butler, turned the corner.
“Ah,” he said, all smiles and crisp, clean uniform despite being at the same party last night. “Good morning! I hope you had a good night’s rest. I prepared for you a seltzer with cocaine. Best thing for the morning after, if you ask me.”
He smiled and winked at his joke as you took the glass, noting that there was nothing in his eyes or expression to suggest he knew. That, you thought as you took a sip of the seltzer and felt the bubbles ease your stomach, or he was one hell of an actor.
“Thanks,” you muttered before he walked away, the sound of your own voice causing a brief rise in the pain in your head.
The sound also caused the man standing near the railing opposite your door to turn with a smile almost as bright as the sunlight streaming in through the windows behind him, again with no sign of the man who had been performing keg stands like they were going out of style last night.
“Ah, there’s our little monster,” Damien said. “You really knocked them dead last night. I haven’t seen you go wild like that since our days at university—”
“Damien.”
“Good to let the beast out every now and then, eh, old friend?”
“Damien!” He had the shame to look momentarily abashed at his choice of words as you continued in a whisper, “Last night, did I—did anyone—”
“No, no, don’t worry,” Damien said, stepping forward to put reassuring hands on your elbows. “I took you upstairs myself, and you were fine until the balcony when you…Ahem. I assure you, there was no one else around to see, and I locked the door to your room once I was sure you were safe and sound in bed.”
You breathed out slowly, your relief brief but pleasant before you remembered the card.
“Damien, we need to talk somewhere. In private, as soon as possible.”
Damien didn’t seem as surprised by your words as you thought he might be. “Well, I still have some work to finish, and then there’s breakfast, but it shouldn’t be hard to find some time to catch up after that. Is that okay?”
You nodded, silently hoping that would give you enough time to shake off this hangover and get some control of yourself. Food would help, and until then moving around might ease some of the anxiety welling up within you. So while Damien went toward his room, you walked down the stairs and through the halls, noting that like Damien and Benjamin, the house itself was surprisingly clean again. You noted the suit of armor, now standing straight and polished, mentally comparing it to last night when it served as one of the targets for beer pong as you backed away with a sense of being watched.
Suspicious of what might be under that visor, you tried to shake off the feeling as you turned and walked into the den.
Just in time to see the flash of red as something large and heavy dropped from the floor above, missing you by inches.
You looked down at the corpse of your host splayed out on the floor.
The flash of lightning from outside that accompanied the discovery felt cheap and dramatic, like something out of one of Mark’s plays, but you knew, looking at his glassy open eyes, that this wasn’t an act.
The roll of thunder followed so close to the lightning that they were nearly indistinguishable, drowning out whatever sound escaped from your throat.
Still, as if in answer to your cry, Abe came walking into the room asking about the lightning, dressed only in a white bathrobe and, for some reason, his hat, and without missing a beat he called to the rest of the house, “Oh my God! There’s been a murder!”
While he stared in shock at the corpse, the butler entered the room and cried out as a third round of lightning crackled overhead, barely having time to stop before a fourth strike accompanied the chef’s scream of “Murder!”
Distantly, you thought there must be some terrible storm raging outside, but it was a stray thought, a random bit of nonsense as you stared at each man in turn, hoping that one of them could explain what was going on. Wishing one of them would reveal the trick, prove that Mark wasn’t…that he couldn’t be—
Abe thankfully interrupted your thoughts, suddenly so close that you could easily smell the body wash he used. With wild eyes, he grabbed the collar of your shirt and asked, “What the hell happened here?”
“I don’t—I don’t know,” you stammered, the numbness creeping into your mind again as you glanced back down at the body on the floor.
You heard the accusation in Abe’s voice as he demanded answers, some kind of an explanation, but before you could gather yourself together to even try to explain what you saw—or failed to see, Benjamin spoke up.
“Sir, the body’s cold. He’s been dead a while.”
“A while?” you repeated, feeling a chill of your own settle in. “Like it could have happened last night?”
You looked around the room as Abe’s grip on your collar loosened, but no one seemed comfortable with that idea.
“Does anyone remember the last time they saw Master Mark during last evening’s…entertainment?” Benjamin asked, and again no one answered. You racked your mind, but your tattered memories of last night’s party didn’t help much. He had been there, of course, but now that you thought about it, at some point he just wasn’t there in anything that you personally remembered.
“Well, I have some familiarity with corpses, comes with the job,” Abe said, stepping back from you with a lingering glance that you couldn’t begin to decipher. “Y/N, can you hand me my jacket over there? That’s what I came down here for in the first place.”
You turned around and found the jacket in question lying on the couch, and spun back around when you heard the chef and butler cry out in simultaneous disgust just in time to see Abe stripping off his white bathrobe to reveal he was wearing his regular clothes underneath it.
“Thanks, partner,” he said, taking the jacket without seeming to notice their reactions or your own brief horror closely followed by relief.
As he stooped over the body, you heard yet another voice at the doorway and realized how much worse this was going to get.
“What the hell happened here?” Damien asked.
“Oh, mister Mayor, I’m so sorry,” Benjamin started, and you felt a rush of guilt. “There’s been a murder.”
Thunder and lightning again, as Damien frowned in consternation and asked, “A murder? Who?”
He briefly turned to look at the sharp crack from overhead before his searching eyes went around the room again, his view of the body blocked by the hunter.
This wasn’t right. He shouldn’t be finding out like this, you thought to yourself, but at the same time you just watched, unable to bring yourself to say the words.
“It’s Mark,” Chef said with a helpless shrug, Abe confirming it.
“Why?” Damien asked, disbelief tinging his tone even as he looked down at the body in question. “Who would do this?”
“That’s exactly what me and my partner here are here to find out,” Abe said, gesturing towards you without looking up from what he was doing. You were trying not to watch as he patted down the body, rifling through Mark’s robes and examining the skin carefully.
“Wait, what?” You looked from Abe to Damien, wondering when you had agreed to this, and the mayor seemed equally surprised by the news.
“I don’t think…” Damien trailed off, his gaze meeting your own before he breathed in sharply. “The Colonel, I need to have a talk with him.”
You knew he wanted to be the one to tell him, to break the news as gently as he could. Like you should have tried to do, a guilty inner voice thought. Mark was Damien’s friend, they had known each other for years, and the Colonel just as long. What could be going through his mind right now?
“Um, shouldn’t we be calling the authorities?” Benjamin asked, and you nodded in agreement.
“Abe, this is a job for the police, we can’t—I can’t—”
“You think anyone’s getting in or out of this place with that freaky lightning storm going on outside?” Abe asked as he pulled a knife from somewhere within his jacket, at which point you weren’t the only one to fix eyes on something, anything else. “There’s clearly something going on here, and I for one am not just going to sit around and wait for that to pass over when there could be a killer among us.”
“He fell,” you said, finally voicing what you had been thinking this whole time. “I saw his—I saw him hit the ground, that doesn’t mean—"
“Oh, and he just happened to fall on this, did he?” Abe asked, holding up a small, misshapen object that, reluctantly, everyone in the room had to lean in to really see. “A bullet, straight to the chest.”
“Silver,” you said softly, your eyes instinctively meeting Damien’s.
“Now why would someone shoot Mark with a silver bullet?” Abe asked, looking around the room while he used a handkerchief from yet another pocket to clean his hands. “Not to mention all of the other damage his body’s been through. Someone must have been trying really hard to make sure he stayed dead, but why?”
“Could it have something to do with that?” Chef asked, pointing at a white square just visible in Mark’s chest pocket, having moved as a result of Abe’s investigation.
The hunter reached into the pocket and came out with two cards.
One was the Death card Mark showed the table last night, now stained on the corner.
The other was a white card, on which had been typed a single word:
Werewolf.
((End of Part 4. Thank you for reading! ...I have no explanation for why Abe was wearing the robe, it just seemed funny to keep it in.

June - Part 1 (Liam X Drake)
Book: The Royal Romance
Summary: Chapter 2.1 of a 4 chapter series chronicling the months before Drake left for college and his relationship with Liam.
Rating: PG-13+ with some drinking and mature themes
A/N: I intended initially to make each month only one part, but I felt this one needed 2 parts. Also, I envision this to be around 2009, so I tried to keep that in mind in regards to technology and pop culture. There is nothing NSFW yet, but there may be in future parts. In the story, Drake and Liam have both already turned 18 and are legal adults.

Drake stripped off his cap and gown immediately following the graduation ceremony. "I'm so glad to be done with this place."
"It wasn't all bad, was it?" Liam questioned. "You had me, Maxwell, and Olivia, plus most of guys on the football team were cool."
"I don't know if I would put Maxwell and Olivia in the plus column."
"Admit it Drake, no matter how much they annoy you, they are your friends. You will miss us all."
"I'll be just fine seeing Maxwell and Olivia twice a year or whatever on school breaks. That is more than enough. You though, Liam, I will actually miss."
"You know Drake, my father's offer still stands for you to attend university here with me. Think about how much fun we'll have."
"Liam, I can't mooch off your family forever. This is just something I need to do."
Drake was going to miss Liam. So much in fact it hurt to think about it. But that was another reason he needed to go. Neither he nor Liam brought up that night on the football pitch again, but Drake couldn't get it out of his mind. It was absurd, and had to be a fluke, for both of them. So why couldn't Drake just forget about it? His codependency with Liam had reached new heights, tricking Drake into believing he had romantic feelings for Liam. There was no other explanation. Liam was his world, and Drake desperately needed to expand his world apart from Liam.
"It was worth a shot, but there's still time to change your mind. I have a feeling this summer will be epic."
"Speaking of ‘epic’," Drake said, "what's the deal with the party your brother wants to throw for us tomorrow night?"
"My father and Regina will be away on diplomatic matters over the weekend, so Leo wants to throw us a graduation combined with congrats on winning nationals party.”
Leo and Liam weren't particularly close, but Leo had just finished college himself, and liked any excuse for a party. Leo also knew Liam and Drake were a packaged deal, so it was thoughtful of Leo to include Drake. It's not like anyone else would be throwing him a party.
“Should be an interesting night."
"Yes, probably more interesting than our family dinner tonight."
"Well, I'm not technically family so-"
"Drake, you are not getting out of this. Father and Regina are hosting this for us. Savannah and Bastien will be there too."
"Fine," Drake acquiesced. "But we are escaping as soon as we can."
Dinner was as long and dull as Drake imagined it would be. The food was okay, but Drake would be just as happy with a good steak or burger rather than expensive cuisine. And seven courses was at least five too many in his opinion. Two and a half hours later, dessert was finally served, and Drake and Liam were free to go.
"Okay Drake, you were so eager to get out of there. What are your big plans for tonight?" Liam asked.
"Not a clue. Maybe we could take the boat out again." Drake smirked.
"Very funny, Drake. I told you I'm never doing that again after we almost died the last time."
"We were fine after I saved your ass. You know I would never let anything happen to you. How many times have I gotten you out of trouble already?"
Liam cocked an eyebrow. "And how many times did you get me into that trouble in the first place?"
"Fair enough. Since that's out, what do you suggest?"
"Hmm..." Liam paused thoughtfully. "I've got nothing. Why don't we just watch movies or play video games in my room? We haven't done that for awhile."
"Works for me," Drake agreed. Liam had a pretty nice setup in his room and it was one place they were never bothered by palace staff or anyone else. They had been so busy in the last month with exams and football, the two of the hadn't really just hung out together in quite a while. Even though they still hadn't talked about what happened, things didn't seem at all strained between them, so maybe Liam really hadn't thought about it again. Just two guy friends hanging out together. Nothing more to it.
They started off playing FIFA obviously, as they were both obsessed with the sport. They tired of it after awhile and decided to watch a movie on Liam's laptop so they could stream Netflix.
"How about Iron Man?" Liam suggested.
"Sure, I haven't seen that yet. I wonder if they will ever make a Captain America movie?”
"I know you have a thing for him, Drake,” Liam teased. “I've seen the stash of action figures in your room."
"They are collectibles! It's not like I play with them."
"Sure Drake, whatever you say."
Drake threw a pillow at Liam's head. "Just start the movie."
It wasn't uncommon for Drake and Liam to watch movies huddled together on Liam's bed. But it felt different now. Drake tried to keep some distance between them because he wasn't sure where his thoughts would take him if there was any physical contact. This meant Drake had to awkwardly strain his neck to see, and it did not go unnoticed.
"What are you doing over there? Get closer so you can actually see." Liam reached his arm around Drake's shoulder, coaxing him to scoot closer. If Liam was okay with this, Drake could be too. He just had to focus on the movie, and not how good Liam smelled or that every incidental touch lingered on his skin. So far it wasn't working.
“You’ve been quiet, Drake. Where’s all your typical sarcastic commentary?”
"I guess I'm just tired. Thinking I should just go to bed."
Liam placed his hand on Drake's thigh, his soft gaze fixed on him. "Are you sure there's nothing at all you want to talk about"?
Drake felt heat rise in his cheeks, and his heart beat faster. Either Liam was totally oblivious to everything, or he knew exactly what was going on and wanted Drake to say it out loud. Drake was still trying to wrap his head around his own feelings that were admittedly getting harder and harder to deny. He wasn't ready to blurt it all out to Liam and scare him off if it was all one sided.
"Nope, just tired."
"All right then...I guess I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yep, see ya," Drake replied and swiftly retreated to his room.
-
Drake watched as multiple kegs of beer were wheeled into the palace. "How many people did Leo invite?"
"Well, he invited our entire graduating class, plus a bunch of his college friends and other nobles."
"Great...Is it too early to start drinking?" Drake didn't know what he expected, but he shouldn't have been surprised that every young noble and socialite in Cordonia would be there. It was Leo making the guest list after all. Drake was just hoping for something smaller and more laid back. At least there would be plenty of alcohol to get him through.
The party guests trickled in and before long, the palace was packed, the music was playing, and Drake was a couple beers in and actually starting to enjoy himself. Drake found himself hanging out with Liam, Olivia, Maxwell, and a few of their other noble friends.
"Let's play a game!" Olivia suggested. "How about truth or dare?"
Drake groaned. "You know I hate that game."
"Exactly," Olivia replied. "If you are too afraid to play, you can go drink by yourself because lord knows you don't have the social skills to strike up a conversation with anyone outside of this group."
Drake didn't want to give Olivia the satisfaction. "No, I'll play."
“Okay then, Liam, why don’t you start,” Olivia directed.
“Maxwell, truth or dare?”
“You know I have no fear,” Maxwell asserted. “Dare.”
Liam looked around the room. “I dare you to go hit on one of Leo’s friends. Bonus points if it actually works.”
"I thought you were going to give me a challenge. Watch the master at work."
Maxwell walked up to a petite brunette. They were out of earshot but Drake could see her smiling. "I can't believe it. Is this actually working?" She proceeded to take Maxwell's phone and appeared to be typing her number in it.
Maxwell walked back with a huge grin on his face. "That was too easy. Her name is Jenny and she's an American exchange student."
"Let me see that." Drake grabbed the phone. "Her phone number is 867-5309? Doesn't that sound family, Maxwell?"
The whole group burst out laughing but Maxwell was clueless. "I don't get it."
Liam shook his head. "Maxwell, even I have heard that song one hundred times. Hopefully you can get over your rejection quickly because it's your turn to choose someone."
"I'm sure there will be plenty of other ladies lining up for me, especially after I pull out my break dancing moves. But back to the game, Olivia, truth or dare?"
"Truth." Drake was not surprised. Olivia never held anything back.
"Okay, how many people in this circle have you hooked up with?" Maxwell inquired.
Olivia looked around at the 9 other people in the group. “It depends on how loosely you define ‘hook-up,” but I’m going to say four.”
“Wait,” Maxwell appeared perplexed. “I know about, Nikos, Eleanor, and Luca. Who’s the 4th?”
Drake held his breath. It happened one time and they swore it would never be repeated. He and Olivia were both a little drunk and stupid. The didn’t have sex, but close enough. After that, they went back to outwardly hating each other because it was much easier that way. Drake prayed that Olivia was as afraid to let that secret out as he was.
“Too bad you didn’t ask the right question Maxwell. You only asked how many, not who,” Olivia replied and Drake breathed a sigh of relief he hoped nobody noticed. "Drake, truth or dare?"
Fuck. Of course she would pick him. There was no good option as Drake was sure she would be out to embarrass him either way. He decided on dare, figuring that was the better bet rather than having her try to dig out his deep dark secrets. "Dare, I guess," Drake muttered.
"Excellent. I dare you to kiss Liam...on the lips."
“Not going to happen,” Drake declared. “Try again.”
“Drake I said you didn’t have to play if you don’t want to but a dare’s a dare. You don’t get a options.”
Okay, he didn’t have to make this a big thing. Drake leaned in and gave Liam a quick peck on the lips. “There are you happy now?”
“What even was that? That doesn’t count. Give him a real kiss this time,” Olivia demanded.
Drake tried to protest again, but the whole group was egging him on at this point. This was a terrible idea, but he was starting to feel the alcohol and just wanted to shut everyone up. He grabbed Liam by the shoulders and their lips crashed together. Liam parted his mouth without hesitation and wrapped his arms around Drake, pressing their bodies close together. That probably would have been  enough to satisfy Olivia, but Drake got lost in the moment and kissed Liam deeper. Liam could have pushed Drake away at any time but he responded with equal hunger, all the sexual tension between them dissipating into one another. Drake came back to reality and abruptly ended the kiss. Liam stood silent and motionless, matching the rest of the crowd who seemed uncertain of what they had just witnessed.
“My god Drake, do you and Liam need to go get a room?”
“Shut up Olivia. I just did what you wanted. Although I probably do have a better shot with him than you ever will. I’ve had enough of this game already. I’m out.” Drake walked away and into the kitchen where the kegs were to get another beer. He sat down at a table alone to try and get drunk enough to forget how much he liked kissing Liam and how obvious it probably was to everyone who saw.
“Drake Walker, sulking by himself...what an unexpected surprise.” Leo’s tone was dripping with sarcasm. “You look like you could use something stronger than beer.” Leo pulled out a bottle of whiskey and two shot glasses.
“No thanks, I usually stay away from the hard stuff.”
“Have you tried this? Come on, I think you’ll like it.” Leo poured them each a shot. Drake took the shot and immediately started coughing. Leo laughed and poured him another shot. “The second one usually goes down easier than the first. Lets try this again.”
Drake downed the second shot. “It burns less this time. I guess it doesn’t taste so bad.”
“So you want to talk about whatever has you down?” Drake shook his head no. “Good because I really didn’t want a listen, but maybe I can cheer you up another way. Hey Sophie come here.” Leo motioned over a pretty blonde girl about Leo’s age. “Sophie, this is Drake, my brother’s best friend and guest of honor number two. He needs some cheering up.”
“Hi Drake. You are pretty cute...are you 18 yet?”
“Yep. Have been for half a year.” Drake replied, oblivious at the time as to why this was relevant. He still wasn’t really up for conversation, but she kept talking and he didn’t ask her to leave. Before he knew it, she was asking Drake to take her back to his room. He was sober enough to realize what was happening, but drunk enough to not care that it was an impulsive decision. They passed back through the room where the group was still playing drinking games. Out of the corner of his eye, Drake saw Liam watching him walk out with Sophie. He didn’t dare turn back to check the expression on Liam’s face. It was better not to know.

Just kidding, have you ever asked a Dad to take a picture of you? What can we say? The Dads and their kids try their best.

The science fair is tomorrow, and Daisy hasn’t started her project yet! All she wants is a ride to the library and a participation ribbon. But Brian has bigger plans for her: wind turbines, working replicas of Mount Vesuvius, human genome editing. Turns out Daisy’s not the only one who procrastinated, and Joseph is out to force Christian and Christie to become the next science superstars. Can the kids get their presentations ready before the librarian kicks them all out for a no holds barred Dad-off?
Issue #5: “Dungeons & Daddies” (Dec. 19) Josh Trujillo (A) D.J. Kirkland (C) Matt Herms
Hugo has been preparing for this moment for months, and it’s finally here. He’s wrangled all of the Dads to play an extremely popular but non-descript tabletop role playing game together! And with his carefully laid plans, Hugo is sure he’ll be the best Dungeon Master they’ve ever seen… as long as they all take the game as seriously as he does.
Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator was released on July 20, 2017 for Windows and macOS, and on September 22, 2017 for Linux.

After his girlfriend Tracy breaks up with him, Erik Stifler and his friend Cooze arrive at the University of Michigan as freshmen. Erik meets a girl named Ashley and his new roommate Bobby. Erik is then welcomed by his cousin, Dwight Stifler, the leader of the Beta House fraternity; who invites Erik, Cooze, and Bobby to a party. They meet Wesley, the rush chair of Beta House who experiences alcohol blackouts, and learn how they can gain eligibility to pledge for the Beta House. Erik and Ashley go on a first date at a restaurant where Erik has hot soup spilled accidentally on his legs, so Ashley brings him to her room to clean up. As Ashley rubs lotion on Erik's thigh, he accidentally ejaculates on her belongings. Erik apologizes and explains to Ashley that, after breaking up with Tracy, he has not had an orgasm in four months due to masturbation being a taboo in his house because of a previous incident. Meanwhile, Cooze falls in love with Ashley's roommate Denise; however, she is nervous about having sex with him, so she gives Cooze a handjob instead. After talking with Erik, Bobby, and Dwight about Denise, Cooze develops suspicions that Denise might have a penis.
Along with two other pledges, Erik, Cooze, and Bobby complete fifty tasks to pledge the Beta House, including: getting their butts signed by a stripper, having sex with a professor, marrying a fellow pledge, and placing a live ostrich in the Geek House. After they complete their final task (stealing something from the Geek House), Edgar, the president of the Geek House, challenges the Beta House to the 'Greek Olympiad', with the winners taking the loser's House. Before the competition starts, Dwight learns that while attempting to rush the midget fraternity, Edgar had sex with a sheep.

American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile, the second installment of the American Pie Presents film series, was a commercial success, and Universal Pictures prepared for a sequel. The Naked Mile's writer, Erik Lindsay, pitched the film by saying: 'Look, we're not going to top Animal House of course, but it's been 25 years. I was in a fraternity for six years. Let's just make a straight pledging movie.'(3) Universal gave Lindsay the green light to write Beta House, and also hired Andrew Waller and The Naked Mile's producer, W. K. Border, as the film's director and producer, respectively.(4) The film's screenplay was based on characters by Adam Herz and on aspects of Lindsay's own life.(5)(6) Lindsay felt that Universal being unworried about making the film similar to Animal House provided 'more opportunities to keep the story organic,' which he found the challenge of writing a sequel.(3)
The film features the same principal cast as The Naked Mile are John White, Steve Talley, Christopher McDonald and Eugene Levy reprise their roles from the preceding film. Levy returned to play Noah Levenstein for his sixth time of American Pie franchise.(7) Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment said: 'we think he (Levy) is crucial to this franchise because his character represents the heart of the movie.'(1)Jake Siegel, Jaclyn A. Smith, Dan Petronijevic, and Jordan Prentice also reprise their roles from The Naked Mile.(7)
Principal photography began on June 4, 2007, and lasted about 'seven (to) eight weeks.'(8)(9) Filming took place at the University of Toronto, Pinewood Toronto Studios and at the Brass Rail strip club in Toronto.(5)(10)(11)Neo Art & Logic, Rogue Pictures and Universal Pictures produced the film on a budget of less than $10 million.(1) The film was intended to be the center of a trilogy beginning with The Naked Mile and although talks for a concluding sequel were held, one has yet to materialise.(5)(12)
Release(edit)
American Pie Presents: Beta House was released direct-to-DVD internationally on December 10, 2007, and in the United States on December 26, 2007. It was marketed with the tagline 'the most outrageous slice of pie!'(7) The film was released in two single-disc DVD editions. Wombwell Rainbow Interviews
I am honoured and privileged that the following writers local, national and international have agreed to be interviewed by me. I gave the writers two options: an emailed list of questions or a more fluid interview via messenger. The usual ground is covered about motivation, daily routines and work ethic, but some surprises too. Some of these poets you may know, others may be new to you. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do.

The Interview
1. What inspired you to write poetry?
Though I enjoyed poetry in school and really enjoyed it in college (despite the fact that at the time we had very little opportunity to study female poets as the canon was so heavily weighed in the other gender direction), I never dreamt I could actually write the stuff myself! Song lyrics had a big influence on me too, as I was raised on a diet of music from an older brother. I think it was my best friend who inspired me to write, when she gifted me the anthology ‘Poem For The Day’ edited by Nicholas Albe. From that moment I began to daily read poetry so that when eventually I plucked up in the courage to write when I turned forty, poetry was the natural choice for me.
2. Who introduced you to poetry?
I remember one professor in college who really opened me up to what poetry could achieve in such a short amount of time and space. I’d always sensed there was a magic to it, but he allowed me to see behind the curtain.
3. How aware were you of the dominating presence of older poets?
I came from a background of readers but absolutely no writers. The idea that I could actually myself, that it was within my power to take up a pen, or click on the keyboard and create a poem, was beyond the powers of my imagination. At the time, I wasn’t aware there were wonderful Irish female poets like Eavan Boland and Paula Meehan blazing the trail for me.
4. What is your daily writing routine?
I’m writing now for thirteen years and my routine has changed many times over those years. Like nearly all poets I also work to pay the rent so writing has always been a part-time activity. In my first year of writing I religiously wrote for an hour every day first thing in the morning, but now I write for half an hour a few times a week and try and give over Sunday morning to it. I also co-run a weekly writers’ forum on a Thursday evening so the writing gets to go dancing on a weekday night!
5. What motivates you to write?
The joy of playing with language and articulating what I need to say. There is nothing like the feeling of capturing complex emotional experiences in a few short lines. When the work is shared with others I’m hugely encouraged and motivated when people tell me that a particular poem names their emotional truth, and that they feel somehow heard too. It’s the universality of the emotional truth behind our very personal experiences that poetry captures so beautifully.
6. What is your work ethic?
Some weeks I’m very industrious and others not so but looking at it over a longer period of time I can say that I always turn-up in some form or other to the writing, and I’ve been faithful to my craft since I began. I’m always learning more about myself as a writer and learning from other poets who are masters of their craft.
7. How do the writers you read when you were young influence you today?
The poet that influenced me the most growing up was Patrick Kavanagh and his work still resonates with me, but there are so many amazing modern poets now clamouring for my attention, that I don’t pay too much attention any more to the poets I grew up with, apart from regarding them fondly when I come across them again.
8. Who of today’s writers do you admire the most and why?
That’s too hard a question to answer! I read across a wide range of genres, though of course poetry is always in the mix. I’ll cheat by sharing the last three writers I’ve read and why I admire them.
Helen Tookey ‘City of Departure’ (Poetry) – such a confident and accomplished writer and how easily she moves from a complex idea, to how that idea plays out in our ordinary lives.
Kevin Barry – ‘Night Boat to Tangier’ (Novel) – his incredible mastery of language which he uses like a keg a dynamite.
Lucy Sweeney Byrne – ‘Paris Syndrome’ (Short Stories) – a debut collection that I wish I could have read when I was young. Brilliantly written, it unflinchingly describes what it means to navigate the world when you’re not tied down with notions of ‘nice’.
9. Why do you write, as opposed to doing anything else?
Because I can’t draw! Seriously, I so admire artists who can express what it means to be human through visual art. I write because I discovered late in life that I could. I write because when the words are flowing, I feel aligned and there is no other feeling in the world like it.
10. What would you say to someone who asked you “How do you become a writer?”
It’s a cliché, but I’d simply say you become a writer by writing. Ignore the voice in your head that is holding you back and write.  Find your own voice by writing your way to where it’s been hiding. Write regularly and read all the time.
11. Tell me about the writing projects you have on at the moment.
I’m currently working on the second draft of my third collection ’26 Letters of a New Alphabet’ which will be coming out next summer.  I’m also working on a ten-month community project in Dublin called ‘Cabbage Quarter Conversations’ where I’ll be pulling together a series of poems which will be based on the fantastic stories I’m hearing from residents.

Payette Brewing Releases Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout
October 12, 2017
BOISE – Payette Brewing Company will release Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout this October. It is more than just a beer; it was a fun collaboration with Ironside Roasting Co., a small-batch craft coffee roaster in Boise, Idaho.
Payette Brewing and Ironside Roasting worked together for this unique beer and coffee creation. Both being masters at their craft, they knew that combining their techniques and using quality ingredients would make an exceptional beverage. Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout is brewed with barrel-aged coffee beans, which were then used for an Ironside roast, Monday Mourning Barrel-Aged Sumatra.
Mike Francis, Payette Brewing Founder and CEO explains, “I heard about a few coffee roasters aging their coffee beans in whiskey barrels, then roasting them which created an amazing coffee. That concept fit perfectly into our beer barrel-aging program at Payette and using a barrel-aged coffee bean in our Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout was an outstanding partnership. We worked with Ironside to select the right coffee bean variety, test the beans as they aged, and made the finished cold brew by melding the techniques of two different types of craft beverage manufacturers.”
Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout is brewed with the barrel-aged coffee beans, bacon-smoked malt, oats, and maple syrup. Pitch black in color and infused with mellow coffee flavors and light smoke aromas, this beer is big, dark and delicious. Despite the higher alcohol content of 9.5%, this beer has an approachable, not overbearing booziness. A perfectly balanced and delicious stout.
Colin Seeley, owner of Ironside Roasting, was just as excited about the collaboration and said, “This project gave me the opportunity to do what I’m passionate about, which is product development. We sampled several coffees, assessed the flavor profiles, and discovered how they would shine in the beer. We barrel-aged the green coffee, which is something I’d heard about but never tried. The earthy, spicy notes of the Sumatra coffee beans were the perfect compliment to the oak and vanilla flavors from the barrels.”
After Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout was brewed with the barrel-aged coffee beans, Ironside then roasted the beans and came up with their new coffee line. “After perfecting the roast on the beans, the flavors in the cup are surprisingly mellow. You can expect a nice, round body with notes of vanilla, black pepper, oak, and a smooth bourbon finish. This is definitely a unique cup of coffee and complementary stout.”
Sunday Mourning Imperial Breakfast Stout will be released at Payette Brewing Company on Friday, October 20th, 2017 at 4:00 PM. Sunday Mourning will be available for the first time in twenty-two ounce bottles and on draft. Ironside Roasting Co. will be present with coffee samples and bags of Monday Mourning Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sumatra coffee for sale.

At Farrell Distributing we pride ourselves on supporting iconic and authentic Belgian breweries. During the month of July we’ll be highlighting some of the best Belgian beers that you can buy in the Green Mountain State. We’ll also explore Belgian beer styles and provide resources for you and your staff to aid in furthering their beer education.
We have put together a full Belgian-Style Beer Book which can be found on our website by clicking here.
BELGIAN WHEAT STYLES
Two iconic beer styles were developed in Belgium that both rely on wheat in the mash: SAISON and WITBIER. Here are some of our favorites.
SAISON: “Belgian Farmhouse Ale brewed to refresh seasonal farm workers after a long day’s work in the fields. Special yeasts produce spicy notes of white pepper and lemon, fine carbonation & a dry finish.”
BRASSERIE DUPONT (Tourpes, Belgium) – SAISON DUPONT – 98 on RateBeer.com! The Dupont brewery was established in 1844 in Tourpes, Belgium on land that was formerly part of a Benedictine abbey. The brewery is most well-known for producing Saison Dupont, the benchmark of one of Belgium’s most influential beer styles. It is the most admired and imitated Saison in the world and has been named the “Best Beer in the World.”  Full-bodied and malty, Saison Dupont  is beloved for its distinct peppery bite and unique flavor derived from Dupont’s signature strain of yeast. 12.7oz/12 (#02156), 750ml/12 (#02150), 5.16 gal. logs (#04124).
FEUILLIEN (Le Roeulx, Belgium) – SAISON – St. Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a “beer of the terroir”; a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich flavors of the fertile land of southern Belgium. The region of Hainault, where St. Feuillien is located, is the traditional home for this style of beer. It originated as a beer made by and for farmers. Thirst quenching, not too strong, and great with food. A warm, golden blonde with a beautiful farmhouse character featuring hints of melon and apricot. Full-bodied, fruity and yeasty, Saison has a rugged, charming character with a lot more flavor than it’s 6.5% ABV would suggest.  Winner of the Best Saison in the 2009 World Beer Awards, this is a beer with the pedigree and the quality to become a classic in the style. 11.2oz/6/4 CANS (#01726).
WITBIER: “Refreshing beers made with a substantial proportion of un-malted wheat in addition to barley malt, plus dried orange peel and coriander.”
HOEGAARDEN (Hoegaarden, Belgium) – ORIGINAL WITBIER – 2016 World Beer Cup Gold Medal winner! “Perhaps they had too much time on their hands. Or they were sick of the sacramental wine. Maybe it was divine inspiration? We’ll never know for sure. What we do know is that the Hoegaarden monks were the first to discover the unique recipe for wheat beer around 1445. 500 years of hard work went into making this beer that features the aroma of orange peel, coriander and herbs that the merry monks imported from sunny Curacao. Speaking of which: pouring Hoegaarden is just like letting the sun fall into your glass: light yellow and naturally murky. And the soft foam adds a cloudy finish. And then there’s the soft taste, light and slightly sweet and sour and with subtle citrus notes… ah, just go ahead and taste it instead of reading about it!” Available in 11.2oz/4/6 bottles (#32031) and limited draft. If you’re interested in working with Hoegaarden kegs, please email Mark Moore.
BRASSERIE DE BRABANDERE (Bavikhove, Beglium) – WITTEKERKE WILD – Not your typical Witbier – this one has a sour twist and is a beer to blow your mind and refresh your soul. Harvest…….The wild idea to use the microflora derived from the Petrus Oak foeders into another beer has never seen before. Through a new technique at Brewery De Brabandere they are able to harvest those wild yeasts and bacteria that live on the inside of the oak foeders. Unleash…….By unleashing the microflora into Wittekerke, their sessional wit beer, a unique refreshment is created. A wild idea in first fermentation. The refinement and refreshment of Wittekerke Wit united with the harvested and unleashed wild yeast and bacteria,  results in a unique balance of wit beer and sour aromas. This ultra-flavoured and refreshing session beer is easily accessible for everyone … and demands for more than one! Wittekerke Wild, The Ultimate Sour Refreshment! 5.0% ABV. Available now in 16.9oz/6/4 cans (#04197) and 7.9 gal. kegs (“A system” coupler, #35921).
NEW FROM DROP-IN DROP-IN (Middlebury, VT) – ORANGE YOU GLAD I DIDN’T SAY BANANA? – How many times did you hear that joke as a parent? Don’t worry – no orange slices here! Although in America a glass of hefeweizen is often served with a slice of orange or lemon, Germans scoff at such a notion. Instead, we used two aromatic hop varieties, Mandarina Bavaria and Lemondrop, to play up the citrus character of the beer. Our hefeweizen is made with 50% wheat and 50% barley malt with the star of the show being the authentic German Hefeweizen yeast. Hefeweizen, or “yeast wheat” in German, is one of the country’s most popular and distinctive beer styles. An unfiltered wheat-based beer, hefeweizen dominated brewing in Bavaria during the 16th – 18th centuries. This beer style was so profitable that the noble ruling families fought over the brewing rights for the hefeweizen monopoly until the style fell out of favor at the end of the 18th century. Light, refreshing, yet complex, this is an excellent summertime beer! 5.5% ABV. Download the sell sheet PDF. Available now in 5.16 gal. logs (#45969) and 13.2 gal. kegs (#45968).
TWO NEW FROM OMMEGANG OMMEGANG (Cooperstown, NY)
The new GAME OF THRONES release is here: BEND THE KNEE – Golden Ale! “Paying homage to the struggle for control of the Seven Kingdoms, Bend the Knee will be available on draft and in a series of three collectible 750ml bottles, all finished in matte black and adorned with one of the three Great House sigils: Stark, Targaryen, or Lannister. “With this next Game of Thrones-inspired release, we wanted a beer and a pack that was fit for a king… or a queen,” said Brewery Ommegang President, Doug Campbell. “Drawing from a rich Belgian brewing tradition, Golden Strong Ales are deceptive due to their unique combination of extreme drinkability and relatively high alcohol content. Bend the Knee walks that line, while also incorporating the delicate flavors of honey into the mix. The subtle noble and floral hop contribution adds to its delicateness, and the beer finishes smooth and dry.” Bend the Knee is brewed with pils malt and flaked oats and hopped with Saaz, Bravo, and Styrian Golding hops. It pours a golden hue with a large, frothy head. Both the aroma and flavor mix maltiness and citrus from the hops, while Ommegang’s signature house yeast produces prominent fruitiness. Wildflower honey added during fermentation provides light sweetness to the beer, which finishes dry and with firm hop bitterness. Fit for any feast table, Bend the Knee’s clean and balanced flavor and effervescent carbonation make it a fine pairing for a variety of foods including seafood and shellfish, roasted or grilled chicken, grilled steaks, and aged Swiss-style cheeses. Download the sell sheet PDF. Available in 750ml/12 bottles (#04372). Very limited 5.16 gal. logs were allocated to Vermont. Email Josh Trombley if you’d like one.
Also just in: BRUNETTA – a 5% ABV traditional Oud Bruin, or sour brown ale, developed by our brewmaster Phil Leinhart, and the master blenders at our sister brewery, Liefmans, in Oudenaarde, Belgium. Liefmans has been perfecting their blending techniques for more than 300 years, and is renowned for their clean and balanced sour beers. The Oud Bruin style is known for its playful flirtation between sweet and sour flavors and Brunetta is no exception. Brunetta pours a deep amber-brown with clarity and a tan head with light retention. Aromas of raisin, prune, and sweet malts are followed by subtle hints of lactic sourness. The balanced sweet and sour flavor leads with caramel malt and finishes with a clean, refreshing sourness. Brunetta is medium bodied and moderately dry with a pleasant nutty flavor in the finish. Brewed with a traditional blend of pilsner, amber, and caramel malts and with minimal hopping, Brunetta’s mixed culture fermentation begins in Liefmans’ open copper vats and continues in stainless tanks for four to eight months. This Oud Bruin’s balanced acidity is a perfect accompaniment to rich dishes like duck confit, chicken liver pâté, all manner of mild cheeses, and NY-style cheese cakes and other mildly sweet desserts. Download the sell sheet PDF. Available in 11.2oz/6/4 bottles (#04355) and 5.16 gal. logs (#04356).
