IIRC, the reason you don't see moving portals in the game is that the physics engine doesn't handle them that well, so what will actually happen is probably that the cube will fly off in a completely random direction at a ridiculous speed.

(sorry I don't know how to format this in any way)
Snowonwinter asked onesmallstep
So, did you ever find out what the Changelings thing was about? I'm looking at doing pre history next year, and will be heading to earth for my foundation year - is that something I need to know about? I can't find any information by searching.
onesmallstep:
buddy, i have learned enough about changelings and runners in the past week to give me nightmares for a lifetime.
from what i can gather based on the helpful links that other users on this site have sent me, it's a topic that's not very well known outside of Earth, and it's not going to be covered in your foundation course, if that's what you're asking.
that being said, i do think it's something that people in every sector should learn about, ESPECIALLY history and medical students who are coming to Earth for their studies. it's one of truly dark parts of human history, but it's something that Earth children have to come to terms with at a very young age, something that continues to affect them to this day, and as guests on their planet the least we can do to show them proper respect as our hosts is to not turn a blind eye to all the terrible things that have been done to them.
[HERE] is a helpful link from University Earth America, for an article titled "Changelings and Runners: How a centuries-old tragedy continues to affect the children of today"
trigger warnings for: child abduction, murder, generational trauma, genocide, systemic discrimination, dehumanisation

Hey so that was a great date, yeah, but I don't think it's going to work out. Nono you didn't do anything wrong, and I have indeed had a crush on you since we started high school, it's just... well, I didn't want to bring it up at the time but we kinda got sucked into a portal fantasy midway through. We saved the kingdom over and over, relying on our knowledge of and trust in each other every time, throwing ourselves into the firing line to protect each other and using each others' conviction as a rock. We got married and lived a happy life together until the portal sucked us back mid-battle and you gave up all your memories of our journey in order to save my life right when we ended up back in the coffee shop. Yeah that was when I got a bit weird and went to the bathroom.
Anyway I thought we could push on and make the date work but I have all of these memories of secrets that this you never chose to share, decisions that this you never made, and intimacies that this you never experienced. And it's kind of screwing with the vibe yeah. Also on the date it was really, blatantly clear that you're sixteen whereas I have memories of ruling a fantasy kingdom for thirty years so like... that's a problem all on its own. Anyway this you just feels more like a daughter to me. A daughter with the woman I gave my heart and soul to over and over and received like in return, only to lose her forever on the journey home. On the plus side I can definitely help you with your math homework now.

4 11 and 15 for the ask game? :3
4... see, the most important part of a fishing minigame isnt the minigame itself, but the rest of the game around it. so this is kinda difficult. id mention a bunch of examples but.. it got kinda long, so lets skip to the punch, yah?
a short hike has the best fishing minigame ive seen. the minigame itself is simple, just mash a, and it's hard to fail, but the fun comes in with trying to find out where each type of fish lives.. you end up trying every little spot of water on the island, and finding rarer and rarer variants! its just a fun time (also once you find one of each fish you can talk to the fisherman on the boat and get a gold fishing rod which finds rare variants easier)
11. favourite berry? hm... raspberry. kinda close between raspberries and blackberries
15. a quote from a game that lives rent free in my head.. theres quite a few to pick from. i'm not sure what to choose.
ah how about this? even though it's been ages since i've played it, i still occasionally have himiko from fucking danganronpa v3 in my head going "Nyehh...."
#i also have the prayer to the forest god from one of nitw's side game things stuck in my head#in their wings#in their trees#all things die#be at peace#cease all care#they are coming#god of the forest#cary us#dont know why it's stuck in my head but it is#there really is a bunch of examples i could use for 15#though i'm not sure i'd be able to tell you all of them now. some i think of and use regularly but i'd have to kinda be reminded of#like a few lines from persona! which i only just remembered. futaba saying 'halright lets get moving' or the way joker whispers 'persona'#akihiko's ''ive been waiting for this!'' aigis's ''i comprehend'' one of the velvet room girls' ''not terrible but not impressive''#i cant believe i didnt think of them before. these phrases are a part of me#also ''you're a liar and a thief. who's going to believe you when you keep lying to yourself?'' from pathologic's opening#so so many examples. i didnt even mention the portal turret quotes!#a lot of what i say or think is stolen words. maybe half stolen from games#.ok ok one more. erika from onhs saying ''so that's how it is'' i rarely actually say it but i think it so often#these games are a part of me#..oh yeah also on fishing games. rune factory 1 hades and stardew have good fishing games too#but the worst fishing game ive seen is unfortunately in momodora 5. you can only fish in such limited areas...#and theres no differences in fish availability between the areas! and a certain few fish are just unreasonably rare#and the fishing minigame itself is so minimal! which could be fine if the everything else was good or worked with it#*le sigh*#anyway#uh#stars its 3:40am#communication

Huntercorp Dean not meeting Cas is a crime actually
He has Negative Charm by the way, the oppostie of how Dean is full of it - so his flirting game is abysmal. He's full of cheesy cringey one-liners that literally never work on anyone, but they go so wildly over Cas's head that they get his attention anyway and end up kind of working.
Cas walks in and Huntercorp Dean is like, "HELLO. Who is this???"
Regular Dean is immediately bristling. He recognises that tone and the way he's leaning back in his seat, clearly checking Cas out. "That's Castiel, he's an Angel."
"I'll say. Every time he looks at me I feel like I'm in Heaven."
Cas voice "Actually you can't get to Heaven from here..."
"Well they must be missing an angel cause you're right here."
"Ah. None of the other angels miss me. In fact I think they're quite glad I'm gone."
Huntercorp Dean winks. "Well you can stay here with me then, cause you're definitely answering all of my prayers right now."
"You're praying to me? I can't hear you." Cas goes a little bashful. "And that's nice of you to say, Dean. You know I try to be around as much as I can."
Now full of enthusiasm because his lines are WORKING Huntercorp Dean continues flirting with Cas with 0 awareness of how bad he is at it while Cas continues to be equal parts confused and endeared.
Meanwhile Regular Dean has his head in his hands wishing a portal would open up and take the other Dean away again.

"We...may need to call on Phantom for this."
Batman grumbled at Constantine's remark. Up until now they hadn't had any issues with ghosts and he was hoping it would be longer before they needed to pull Phantom in for his expertise.
~
It had only been a month since King Phantom and his children came crashing into their dimension. Their ship had come out of a Lazarus green portal that spontaneously appeared in the lower atmosphere just outside of Gotham. Batman had called the League for potential backup and ended up surrounding the strange craft with Superman, Green Lantern, Martin Manhunter, and Zatanna for magical support.
They were not expecting a child, one no older then 6 or 7, with pearlescent white hair and striking green eyes to come tumbling out and crying for them to help her father.
~
Superman stood up from his place at the meeting room table with the grace of a man who didn't feel comfortable pestering an eldritch god of a man until it was absolutely necessary, "Are we sure this is a ghost? It could very well be something else-"
"Oh it's definitely a ghost," Constantine cut him off, taking a drag of his (against league policy) lit cigarette and blowing the smoke up at the ceiling, "There's no mistaken it. Even before Phantom's little 'crash course' on ghosts I coulda told ya that."
Batman looked over the blurry images on screen. They were of what looked to be two individuals riding a motorcycle at dangerous speeds through Metropolis. Superman had told them they hadn't hurt anyone directly but had caused a few minor crashes and were a general pain to interact with. Just like Phantom had told them, they couldn't be picked up clearly on any modern cameras and Superman hadn't had any luck capturing them. They simply slipped through a wall or disappeared around a block. It had been a week of this and Clark had finally given up and called for assistance.
"Isn't it like, 4am in Gotham?" Flash asked, leaning back in his chair, "Wouldn't he be asleep or something? Does he sleep?" The last bit he mostly asked to himself.
"Yes, he does," Batman answered, much to the confusion of Flash. "I'll make the call."
After a few rings the line picked up to a slightly slurred and staticky, "Hello?"
"Phantom, are you available at the moment. We think we may have...a ghost problem. In Metropolis."
A pause. Then a tired sigh came through the line, "Alright, give me 10 minutes." And the call ended.
Superman shifted uncomfortably, "It sounded like you woke him up." Of course he was listening. Batman glared at him, then turned to the rest of the gathered league, "He'll be here in 10 minutes."
About 6 minutes later a portal ripped itself open next to the window of the meeting room and out stepped Phantom, looking less drowsy then he sounded. Clinging to his back (to the League's surprise) was his oldest, Dante. And cradled in his arms, wrapped against his chest with his cape was his youngest, Eleonora, (they're only a month apart but Dante would throw a fit if he wasn't referred to as oldest sibling)
With a jaw cracking yawn Phantom stepped forward towards the meeting table, "Sorry, I hope it's alright I brought the kids." He started, running a hand through his daughter's hair, "Elly just had a nightmare and Dan didn't want to be left alone."
Over his shoulder, the little prince grumbled something about 'too quiet' and 'bad memories' and wasn't that mildly concerning.
"It's alright, you're majesty." Superman stood and gave Phantom a nervous smile. He didn't not trust the man but anything magical and/or supernatural tended to make even him nervous, "We know we called you quiet early and out of the blue... Sorry about waking you up,"
Phantom waved him off with another yawn, "Nah, it's fine, you didn't wake me. I was already up with Elly when you called." At her names mention, the little princess shifted and let out a small whimper. Phantom sighed and then a rumbling sound started up in his chest that sounded a lot like purring. At the noise, little Elly settled down again.
It was sweet, seeing this supposedly all powerful being just being a single father. A few days after the king was treated in the Watchtower's medical facility, they got a taste of what Phantom was capable of when a small armada of alien ships decided now was the best time to attack Earth.
~
The League had been gathered to discuss how to proceed when Phantom had stepped in and offered his assistance. "I owe you all for saving me," he had argued when they tried to refuse.
15 minutes
It took King Phantom 15 minutes (and 25 seconds) to have the aliens running with their tail between their legs. Debris from the lead ship unrecognizable.
~
"Alright, now what's this 'ghost problem' you need me for?" At that, the League (mostly Superman, considering it was in his city) explained the situation to their resident 'Ghost expert'.
~~~~~~~◇~~•~~◇~~~~~~{☆}~~~~~~◇~~•~~◇~~~~~~~
And that's it, idk where this was going but now it's out of my brain
And my hands
