~ Detective Comics (1937)
These posts saying that "Jason used to write fanfics" are right. This is an issue "written" by Jason (his name is in the writer's box), where he tells the latest adventure he had with Batman. However, at the end, he isn't satisfied with his writings, so he burns it, which implies this is not a journal, but him working on his writing skills, using their crime fighting as a base. He even talks about "maintaining suspense" at one point. So, yeah, if Jason grew up in the 21st century, he would be writing Batman and Robin's fanfics inspired by his own adventures with his dad.
And Bruce, faking being asleep in the same room Jason is writing in, so he can listen and watch his boy as he enjoys his hobby, just happy seeing his baby do something he likes. He probably loves to read what Jason wrote.
I can't believe people looked at this cutie pie and his dad, and went: "I want him dead".
#jason todd#robin#batman#bruce wayne#batfam#dc comics#my ramblings#it's the issue 555 for anyone interested#They are father and son! What Makes a Family? Pt27
Beginning Previous Next
Marinette walked down the stairs to find Cass scowling at Bruce and signing rapidly. Selina was whispering with her Maman, who looked far too amused, so Cass had to be laying into him pretty hard. Damian was looking on in confusion, but the other boys were nodding along with whatever her twin was saying. She really needed to have Cass teach her to sign. Chloe appeared next to her.
"I'm actually learning new terms. You sister is extremely creative with swearing." Of course, that would be what impressed Chloe. Mari had to wonder how much of it was just not knowing common terms, so she made up her own.
"I don't want to mess up her relationship with him." Chloe scoffed.
"Given the way the others are reacting, this isn't the first, or worst, of his overstepping. I'm thinking this is a long overdue rant."
"You did what when I was with Babs?" Dick's indignant shout startled most of the room. "Yeah, I'm never bringing anyone home ever again. Not unless I've been married for two years." Mari sent Chloe a questioning glance.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Yeah, if Chloe was saying that... she really didn't want to know.
"You've never known when to butt out, old man. The difference this time is that you don't have any right to butt in in the first place." Jason's tone was downright hostile.
"She's my daughter."
"A biological connection doesn't mean you own me. I'll be eighteen in three months anyway and I'm completely financially independent, so if you want any type of relationship with me, it's going to be on my terms, Mr. Wayne. Those terms will include not interfering in my relationships with others, romantic or otherwise, and not telling me how I'm allowed to live my life." He looked like he was going to argue, but Cass signed at him before standing beside Mari. He looked at the boys for help, but the only one not glaring at him was Damian.
"Marinette, you're young. You have no idea the danger-"
"Do not pretend you know anything about me or my life, let alone what I do and do not know. I assure you, I know what I'm doing, and Luka and Kagami are not a threat or a problem. If you can't accept that, then you can leave." She hadn't wanted to get to this point so soon, especially since it put Cass's ability to stay in question. Unfortunately, she also wasn't willing to set a precedent with him by letting him think he could act this way with her. She'd been around enough powerful people to know that if she didn't set boundaries now, she'd never be able to enforce them. Jagged was proof of that.
"Perhaps we should discuss this privately." No way was that happening. She could almost see the hero lecture waiting to burst out of him.
"After what you just tried to pull, and your apparent history of browbeating your kids into things, we're not about to let that happen." Tom's voice was harder than she'd ever heard it. "If you won't respect my daughter's boundaries, you'll be asked to leave." The emphasis he put on 'my daughter' caused Bruce to flinch. She would feel worse about it if not for the fact that all her siblings, besides Damian, seemed to approve of it.
"I think we should separate for the time being, and try this again later. Tempers are high, so we all need space to calm down." Sabine sounded cheerful enough, but there was a hard edge to her words that everyone caught. As much as Mari thought it was a good idea, they were in a bit of a time crunch.
"Given that they're only going to be here for a week, it might be best to get things settled. But, if Bruce isn't willing to compromise, there's not much point in continuing this discussion." She could hear how tired she sounded and given the concerned looks at her and glares at Bruce, everyone else could, too.
"By compromise you mean letting you decide everything." The sulkiness in Bruce's voice made her roll her eyes. Yes, this had to suck for him, but he couldn't honestly expect her to let him just take over her life.
"No, but there are going to be things that aren't negotiable. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life, and I'd appreciate the same courtesy. We know next to nothing about eachother, and until we do it's not really fair to have an opinion on each other's lives." He didn't seem to know what to do with that. She was sure that, for a man used to being in charge, it wasn't something he had experience with. "I want to get to know you, all of you, but I'm not going to change who I am or how I live my life to do it. If you can't accept that, you can leave."
Cass hugged her from behind, and Mari could feel her twin glaring at Bruce. As much as she had hoped it wouldn't be necessary, it was obvious who Cass would side with in this. Of the boys, Jason seemed firmly entrenched on her side, Dick and Tim were more of a neutral, and Damian just seemed confused, but he'd most likely side with Bruce for the time being. Hopefully, it wouldn't destroy her chance of getting to know him permanently. When it became obvious Bruce either couldn't or wouldn't back down, Selina went over to start whispering in his ear. Alfred had been scarily silent through everything, and Mari really wasn't certain what to make of it.
"You need my help." Selina rolled her eyes, and Alfred just shook his head. The man really needed to learn when to back down.
"I need Cass. That's it." He flinched, and even the boys were trading looks. Bruce was closing off. She could see it. "I need to show Cass her new school. Why don't you take the evening to think things over? We can try this again tomorrow when everyone is calmer." Bruce looked about ready to explode.
"That sounds like a good idea. Master Bruce, we should head back to the hotel." The glare Bruce sent Alfred didn't phase the man at all. The stern look he sent back had the boys looking like they were ready to wet themselves.
"Fine." Bruce signed something at Cass and she felt her twin stiffen up behind her. Chloe looked like she was about to start screaming at him, too.
"Miss Cassandra will be staying with Miss Marinette. Indefinately." Alfred's tone was frigid and just about everyone seemed to be cowering or eyeing the man like he was going to explode. Even Bruce hunched in on himself a tiny bit. "Now we really should be on our way."
Mari had a feeling Alfred was going to be having a long conversation with Bruce. She just hoped it had the desired outcome. The man obviously had control issues, and she couldn't afford to have him try to take over her life. She had a feeling she was already going to have a major issue with Batman trying to step on her toes once he actually went through an Akuma attack. She couldn't count on there not being one before he and the others went home. Not to mention, if she'd heard right, he could just use some tech the Justice League had to teleport back at any time. She'd have to ask Cass about that, too.
Selina practically pushed Bruce out the door, while the boys followed under Alfred's gaze. Before going joining the rest, Jason shoved a piece of paper in her hand with a wink. She had a feeling he was one brother she could count on not to run to Bruce with information.
Once they were all out of the door, Mari felt herself relax. She felt terrible that things had gone downhill so quickly, but there really wasn't another option at this point. She couldn't afford to show weakness. There was far too much at stake, both in her personal life and as a hero. Cass tightened her hold on Mari.
"He needs time. He'll calm down."
"Unfortunately, time isn't something we have right now. If this doesn't get better, I'm going to have to force him to leave Paris before Hawkmoth is back in fighting form." She didn't even want to think about how much that would piss him off. She had a feeling Batman's ego wouldn't take too well to being thrown out of a city by another hero. Alfred and Selina would take her side... at least she thought so.
"Alfred will make things right." She wasn't quite sure what Cass meant by that, but she hoped she was right. She opened the paper that Jason handed her and heard Cass giggle behind her.
If you need someone to help you hassle B, give me a shout. ~Jason
It had five phone numbers on it. If she didn't know his 'occupation', it would seem excessive. It did mean she had at least one of her brothers on her side when it came to Bruce though. Whether that was a good thing or not was yet to be determined.
"Why don't we head over to the school? There are a few clubs meeting, so I know the building is open. That way, you can get a feel for the layout before tomorrow." She knew it would stress Cass out if they didn't scope out the building. It was going to be bad enough being around so many new people.
"You don't want to eat first?" Given the looks her Maman was shooting at the door, she was more worried about them running into Bruce than the actual food, but it was a good idea anyway.
"Of course, Maman. We wouldn't want it to go to waste." Especially since she made enough to feed the whole city again. Maybe she should text Jason and see if he wanted to meet them at the school and they could bring him some. "Maybe we could take some to go as well. I wanted to show Cass the houseboat, and if it's late enough, we might stay there." It wasn't a lie, just not the whole truth.
"Probably a good idea. It'll give your father and I time to talk to Bruce should he decide to come looking for you." She really hoped he didn't. Her Maman might actually kill him. She would text Selina or Alfred to make sure he didn't come over, but she had a feeling that would have the opposite effect she was looking for. After they ate and while her Maman was boxing up food, her Papa motioned her out into the hallway.
"What's wrong?" She heard the panic in her own voice and her Papa winced.
"Nothing's wrong. I didn't mean to worry you. I just wanted to make sure you were handling everything alright. I know things have been tense, and you tend to overthink everything without letting anyone know." She leaned forward slightly, and that's all it took for him to envelop her in a hug. Her Papa gave the best hugs.
"What if he makes her go back?" She knew it was an irrational thought, but it wouldn't go away. Her Papa hugged her tighter.
"That's not going to happen. We won't let it, and more importantly, Cass won't let it. I truly don't believe there's a force strong enough to separate the two of you. And if there is, Plagg will get rid of it." Marinette started giggling and couldn't stop. It was a little disturbing that she found the image of Plagg getting rid or Bruce amusing, but she was willing to chalk it up to stress.

I'm curious now, if someone made a reaction fic with canon watching your stories (not me because I suck at those), how do you think they would react? Especially if Branch was still gray?
Oh I play out this fic plot in my head on almost a daily basis.
If I were to put, Grey Branch, Poppy, Viva the snackpack, and Brozone into a room to watch my aus, both fics would probably start the same. Shock on both sides (brozone to Branch's state, and The Snackpack to Branch's alter ego as Bitty B), but eventually they'd all settle and start watching. Though, Brozone would definitely not that Creek at first glance. Viva would cling to her sister and the Snackpack would welcome her, but they would be very confused when she starts acting paranoid about the bergens like Branch, and Creek would..be Creek...getting on her bad side. Bruce would have to step in explaining that Trauma doesn't work the way Creek is trying to simplify it (he read a lot of the vacationer's psychology books before his kids were born). Needless to say, by the time that everyone has sat down the room is tense.
For Burning Branches it's pretty clear that this is an alternate universe so, they kind of just sit back and enjoy.
The Snackpack would get to witness the abuse a tiny grey branch would get in the tree, while Brozone gets to see Branch follow in there footsteps and escaping on his own. Branch himself remembers a few of these events but doesn't remember leaving so he interested in seeing where he counterpart went. Practically everyone panics when they see the head injury on screen, Floyd even starts crying at the sight. Once the rock trolls get involved it draws a lot of surprise from the whole group. Floyd and JD aren't too surprised they've been around the block before, and have a basic gest of the other tribes. Bruce is in the same boat as a few Techno trolls have washed up on Vacay island. However none of them had seen rock trolls in person and their dulled nature are a little disturbing, considering what dulled means for Pop trolls. Clay and Viva are paying rapid attention to the rock trolls on screen, because considering the environment their people live in these guys know how to survive and protect themselves. The Snackpack has mixed reactions, Cooper wonders if theirs another tribe that looks like him, Poppy just wants to help these guys find happiness cause they are way to serious in her opinion, Creek calls them brutes (impressing no one), while the rest of the pack are either confused/fearful/curious. Branch is just awed, this troll, the rock king no less, on screen took his other version and saved him. Not only pull him from the water but take this trolling stranger into his home and raised on-screen Branch as his own. It's made veery clear that the pop and rock tribes do not get along, and yet this king was willing to risk his power and reputation to care for Char, King Peppy never kept Branch for more then two days until shipping him off to the next foster family. He even seemed mad on Char's behalf, something Branch had never thought anyone would do. The amnesia is something that hurts Brozone, learning that in one world there brother forgot about them. Branch is a little envious of Char, after all losing his memories was pretty starting a new life with a clean slate. Sure he watches Char struggle, but he also watches Char thrive, regaining his color, learning to love music again, making friends, having a family behind him, heck even getting Poppy for a love interest. Sure, it's an arranged marriage between the tribes, and makes the theater very awkward, but there's a clear connection between the two of them. By the end of the whole first movie all the snackpack (minus Creek) and Bruce are shipping Poppy/Char (Choppy? We should call them Choppy), and they get pissed when John Dory on screen interrupts their wedding.
For FOF, it's more of confusing reaction since this could still be their actual future.
Branch makes notes to look out for Keith, cause just in case there might be a trolling who's a little weird ending up in the foster system after losing his dad and he doesn't want that to happen. Kid seems sweet and not that judging. As the au goes on, Branch feels all sort of embarrassment, from them witnessing his panic attacks and how they called him cute for the more wholesome reactions when it comes to Keith. When the whole wolf incident comes on screen, Poppy ask Branch if he would really do that for the village, and everyone is shocked when he nods. Creek tries to say the the forest is over dramatizes in this and that the critters aren't that cruel in real life, Branch just rolls his eyes only to hear John Dory come to his defense, as a survivalist himself he had to deal with predators, and everything on screen is necessary. FOF Branch is a lot harsher on his brothers and the interactions on screen are a lot more charged. Branch isn't sure how he feels about this counterpart. There's a feeling of justice at watchin his brothers get what's coming to them, but it also hurts that he's hurting them. He doesn't hold the same anger that FOF feels. Smidge kind of wants to meet her FOF counterpart, someone who uses her strength to save others, she's down for it. And Asks Branch if he could set up something like that in there world or at least train her, to help him in the forest. Branch is confused by that. Creek completely denies that he would betray everyone, but strangely Branch doesn't believe him. FOF Branch's wounds are scary to think about for everyone but Branch forces himself not to react. Broppy makes once more everyone uncomfortable, Branch feeling awkward, Bruce teasing, Poppy blushing, Creek giving the grey troll the stick eye. It's harder to different Canon from AU with FOF since Char is less Branch like.
There's just so much that could happen that i can't fit it into one post, but if anyone wants to make one to these they have my full permission. Though that might want to wait until the final product is finished.

UnTamed Ch.22
Damian Wayne x OC!Female
Prev | Next
Estrus or "Heat", a period during the reproductive cycle when female animals become sexually receptive and ready to mate.
-
Even when words aren't spoken, they still travel fast. It wasn't long before Bruce learned about Damian and Asta's "intimate" moment. Bruce was getting ready to pull out his sex ed slide show. Damian had already seen the slideshow, but a review never hurt. Plus, he now has an actual girlfriend. He wondered if he could get Astaera to watch the slideshow. He doubted it. She probably reacted the same as Jason. Jason said the alley taught him all he needed to know. Eventually, he did tie him down for the slideshow, but he didn't talk to him for weeks afterward, nearly two months.
Honestly, he just wanted to avoid Stephanie's situation. While Stephanie's pregnancy and child were never mentioned, it still happened. Bruce had kept eyes on the child, and as promised so far in their life, they had never gone wanting. He simply wanted to make sure that none of his children had to make that decision again. Especially not his youngest.
-
Asta had never had a physical before; learning this, Bruce set her up with Dr. Thomkpins, where she was now sitting in the medbay in a little cotton hospital dress, just having finished all the invasive procedures. Now, the Doc was making assessments and asking questions.
"For someone who had never been to a doctor, your health is remarkably well," she said, looking over her chart. She had never had a patient this healthy.
"Damian has been helping me. He's good at playing doctor." Thompkins sided eye her and Bruce with that comment.
"Well, he's done a very good job with you. You seem to be in top health." Asta grinned at the compliment.
"Do you know when your last menstrual cycle was?"
"I don't have one"
"It's okay. You're still young. I'm sure you'll start soon." she reassured her as she took a few more notes.
"I don't think I will," Asta said shyly. The doctor looked confused. Of course, she was confused; normal girls had their periods, and normal girls bled, but Asta wasn't normal. She was a meta-human. Her body contorted and changed to be that of the entire animal kingdom, so, of course, her body was somehow more animal than human, with more animalistic systems and behavior than human. She knew this, lived, and experienced it. She was well in tune with her body, even if she couldn't describe it. It's not like anyone would understand.
"what do you mean?"
"I'm an animal. And I do what animals do." She continues to look at her, confused. She breathes in deeply through her nose. " I don't bleed. Damian says it's probably because of my animal biology. I don't know how to really explain it. And... I don't want to. Can I go now?"
She didn't wait for an answer, simply ripping off the patient's gown and running away. She does not want to have this conversation with anyone (besides Damian).
-
Tim sighed. He had had a long week, and now he simply wanted to enter his last case debrief into the batcomputer and then take a nap. Approaching the clock, it swung open and out came Asta, who was running by in the nude.
He takes a moment, a deep breath ( in through the mouth, out through the nose), and decides today is not the day. Turning around, he goes to his bedroom. He was done for the day.
-
"Astarea," Damian called out to her as he entered their room. Alfred had warned him that her exam didn't end particularly well and that she might need him. He didn't elaborate, simply offering to take Titus for his after-school walk and told him to go.
"Astarea," he called again as he approached the bathroom, where he heard splashing. Stepping into the bathroom, he saw the tub full of water, a bottle of shampoo floating, and a small turtle on top of it. "Hello," he said, sitting on the edge of the tub. De Vu. Jumping into the water, she came back up as a girl.
"I'm not normal."
"We've already established that." she leans on the edge.
"Normal girls have periods. I don't."
"You have a desire to bleed monthly? A massacre between your legs, as Stephanie has described."
"I used your laptop, your Google," She said," I'm an omega."
"You're not allowed to use my laptop anymore."
"What?!"
Damian quickly got up and walked away. " You are forbidden from using the internet. Forbidden."
Asta Jumped out of the tub, following him. " But the internet said- "
"The internet is a lie. Ome- They are not real. A fictional creation for entertainment mainly used by writers and artists." Damian did not want to be having this conversation. He had stumbled across it long ago when they first hit puberty and instantly regretted it. While the information was informative, it was a bit too much for his mind then. At least he knew how to hold her due to the information. But that day, he scared himself in ways he, as a child, was not ready for it.
"why are we having this conversation?" Damian asked, tossing a towel at her before she sat on the bed.
"I had a physical exam today. They asked about my menstrual cycle. I didn't know how to explain myself." Asta had learned about periods through prostitutes, and she only approached Damian when she realized that something wasn't right. Due to being a meta, she knew she couldn't ask anyone else.
Taking the towel from her, Damian pushes her to sit on the bed and begins to dry her hair. Truly, it was an excuse to hide her view of his face. " You don't experience a menstrual cycle. You experience bouts of heat three times a year. You have cramping, mild fever, increased pheromone production, and touch deprivation." Damian knew all this because he experienced it with her. He watched, cared for, and held her while it all happened. The first few were rough, but they figured it out eventually.
Finished drying her hair, he tosses the towel into the waste basket. Tilting her head back, he kisses her forehead. "You are strange, yes. But you are no stranger than I."

Simple Ch. 6 (Loki x F!Reader)
Masterlist
Summary: Tony and the Avengers are in desperate need of something like a “babysitter” to have an eye on Loki and teach him “how to human”. He decided to stay on Midgard over the dungeons of Asgard as punishment for his deeds in New York. That’s where you swoop in. A simple receptionist at the Avengers compound. You have to share an apartment in the compound with Loki and damn, he’s a really tough nut. With your open and kind character it seems that you are slowly cracking his shell. But suddenly things are getting twists that will change your life and your relationships there irreversibly.
Story rating: M
Chapter trigger warnings: harming
Words: 2108
6
It turned out the tests Bruce made with you seemed to be alright, nothing you didn't knew or that wasn’t indicated before. The following days passed without anything special happening, except your relation with Loki. You tried to pick up the conversation with Loki again but apparently the moment was over. He shut himself off again. But you didn't miss out that he continued to feel more comfortable around you. The next day he accepted your tea offering for the first time. That made you ridiculously happy and you couldn't hide the big grin appearing on your face.
"What's so funny?"
"What? Oh, no, nothing." After a few moments of silence you couldn't hold back, "Do you like my tea? Today I chose a rose flavored green tea. I love the scent of roses. I don't like the flowers themselves, they are everywhere you look, being pretentious, I'm just weary of them, but their scent...“ You let out a little, soft moan. „Wonderful."
Your rambling was met with silence and you almost gave in, disappointed. But before you looked away you could see a small smirk tugging on his lips.
A few days later you just couldn't contain yourself anymore. You turned in your winged chair to Loki.
"How are you feeling today?"
"...What?"
"How do you feel? We've been sharing these rooms for quite a few days now and have barely spoken to each other. Tell me something. Anything. Or ask me something! Just let us interact in any way. I can't take it any longer."
He looked you straight in the eyes, the dimmed sunlight making the green-blue almost glow. Then a question seemed to pop up in his mind.
"What are you reading?"
You looked down at the book on your lap. "What I’m reading? Oh, that is something specific. It's called Antiquitates Iudaicae. It's not that easy to read, it's not like a novel or something, it is more like a history book. The text is about 1900 years old. A roman-jewish historian named Flavius Josephus tries to explain his beliefs to the Greek to help them understand his culture."
"Why are you reading this, since it is not easy to read?"
"I am a faithful person and it helps me a bit understanding the setting and the time when the bible was written. There are no other ancient Jews from the first century left around here, so I wanted to know how he tried to explain his culture to persons that have no relation with it."
"So, you believe in god? Then you must be humbled to be in the presence of one." A lofty expression appeared on his face, but was wiped away the second you started laughing.
"I'm sorry, really. Don't want to be disrespectful. But do you really think you are a god? Just because you have access to other dimensions and live a few thousand years? Not that this wouldn't be highly impressive, honestly. But you are as far away from being a god than I am. You are a creation, not a creator."
Loki wanted to say something but the words kept stuck in his throat. His face turned sly.
"You have no idea what I am capable of." His voice was low and husky.
"You are completely right. If there was some sort of food chain, I'd clearly be beyond you because of your many skills and knowledge. But they don't make you the summit, neither. Look, I totally see why the ancient Norse people thought of you as gods. What you can do is really admirable. But I would never give you this title. I got too much respect of it."
Loki tried to swallow down his anger. He really wanted to behave but even more he wanted you to explain that. "So, what do you think deserves this title?"
"Love. Compassion. Mercy. Omnipotence. I think, nothing in the whole universe happens without him allowing it to happen. Even the bad things. For the most people it's hard to accept that. They blame him for all the terrible things. It's not like that he would cause the bad things to happen. But he knows exactly what's going on. He knows every outcome of every move. And, I believe, he leads us on the tracks we should go. Not like we are just marionettes and he sets every move, but at some points, big decisions that give our lifes a turn, he may give us a certain push. A lot dreadful stuff happened to me in my life, but who knows that it couldn't have been even worse? Who is able to say the way it went is not the best of all possibilities? Even if it is hard to cope with, I know he gives me the strength to get through. Whether it is some sort of energy that comes from within me or he puts people in my life that will help me with whatever comes my way. But that is my totally personal point of view. The nice thing is, I don't have to persuade anyone to believe the same. My faith is individual. Nobody has to agree with me. This is what helps me get through life. Not to give up.... What sort of faith do you have? ...if you have one at all?"
Loki listened carefully and his face slowly softened as he followed your thoughts. He seemed a bit surprised as you addressed the question to him, like he was asked for his opinion for the first time in his life.
"That is a very interesting point of view, I have to admit. I can imagine that it is not very popular, but interesting, though. I... I never really developed something you could call faith. My culture is full of myths and legends. I learned everything about our Allfathers and Gods, but never took it really personal. I was not attracted to do so."
He stopped talking and started pondering on that thought. You watched his face, his eyes getting lost. You used the opportunity to take a closer look and studied his face. It was edgy and delicate at the same time. His bright eyes pierced right through you every time he looked at you. He was very concentrated on what he wanted to say next, so you simply kept quiet and waited for him to form his thoughts into words. It was rather beautiful to watch his mind work.
After a short while he continued, "I think there might be something like a higher force that has impact on our lives. But that started just recently. I long thought that I am the master of every of my own steps and if I place them right, everything will work out just fine. I will get what I want if I only fight hard enough for it. So that's what I did, I fought for my own purposes. But all I got was misery, sorrow and hatred."
You could literally see his pain boiling up from the inside. It was tearing him in two. You reacted out of instinct and reached out to lay your hand on his cheek. His eyes darted at you immediately, turning glassy. Softly you stroke over his cheek with your thumb. You wished you could just pull him into a tight embrace and help him let go of all expectations towards himself. To put down his guard. It was like you could literally feel his inner need of ease and solace. But he was just too much of a proud man. He pressed his lips together and pushed your hand away, abruptly stood up, stepping towards the window front, staring outside with his arms crossed.
"I'm sorry." Was all that came to your mind. Pathetic, you thought. And he thought that as well.
"You have no idea what you are talking about." He hissed turning towards you. "Don't act like you would understand. YOU HAVE NO IDEA!" He shouted at you and disappeared right in front of your eyes. You sat there in your winged chair, nonplussed. You looked around the room, but no sight of him.
Far beyond puzzled, you started to talk with the air. "I... I don't if you are still here? But, I wanted to say that you are right. I have no idea what you've been through. What it feels like to be in your skin. If I were, I know I would have done the same that you did, because you are the only person that feels this way. I am no one to judge. I never judge. Well, at least I try. The big truth is that it's simply impossible to compare individuals with each other. We are the summaries of our experiences and we all have our very own way of perceiving the world around us. So, I have to add as well that you also have no idea what you are talking about. I do understand. Traumata are a serious thing and everyone reacts differently to that, but don't treat me like I had no empathy. Maybe everyone else treated you like you didn't even had the right to speak your mind, but I'm not like this. You are intelligent and attentive and if you haven't noticed that by now, you are obviously blinded by some kind of rage and hatred. And pride. But I don't want to push you. Just know that I won't let you treat me like this. I will not leave you because I can imagine that you've been left too often in your life, but I will not tolerate it. Okay, and because it feels like I have a serious conversation with myself outside of my head I'm gonna go into the kitchen to get me a drink because that's fucking strange. Feel free to join me there."
You sat on a barstool and looked out of the giant window front at the other side of the even bigger room. You felt the cold sweat of the glass condensing in your hand, running over your fingers. Totally lost in your thoughts you didn't notice Steve sitting down next to you. He really tried not to startle you but failed.
"Sorry Y/N. Just thought you looked like something was on your mind you'd like to talk about?"
"No problem. Ah, no, it's okay. There were just some intense emotions between Loki and me."
Looking at his raised eyebrows you awkwardly cleared your throat as you explained yourself, "Oh no no no, not something like that. Totally not. No no." Somehow you dwelled in that thought a bit too long.
"Well, that were lots of 'no's but okay." Steve laughed and pushed you slightly with his shoulder to the side.
Before you could blush too obviously you changed topic, "Have you seen Tony? The last time I saw him was when were having pizza. Is everything alright?"
"To be honest I haven't seen him, neither. Well, at least not in person. I walked by the lab and saw him video chatting with Bruce, so he must be okay. But don't worry, wouldn't be the first time he disappears for a few days without telling anyone. ... Are you sure you don't want to talk about what's weighing you down?"
"Thank you Steve. Everything's fine." You conjured a smile though you didn't felt like smiling which made it totally implausible. But Steve accepted you didn't want to talk right now. He assured you can knock on his door whenever you wanted before he left the open kitchen of the common room again. You really, really hoped Loki would show up in the kitchen. You imagined both of you together having a drink, talking, enjoying each other's companionship... But you were pulled out of your day dream by a polite voice.
"Miss Y/N, your presence is demanded outside of the personal rooms."
"What? Me? For what?" You thought JARVIS sounded differently than usual.
"I am sorry, Miss, but I was not given further information than it being important and urgent."
"Uhm, okay. Sure. Just a sec." You gulped down the rest of your Gin Tonic and jumped off the barstool. For a moment it felt like someone was slightly brushing your arm as to hold you. You stopped, looked around, but didn't see anyone, so you went on.
After you slipped into your shoes and a coat you were going down to the ground floor with the lift. The doors opened and the blood in your veins froze. Two giant, black-suited men immediately entered the lift. One grabbed your arms and pulled them violently behind your back and the other one pressed a strongly sweet smelling piece of fabric on your mouth and nose. You felt a sharp sting right into the side of your neck just before everything went limp and dark.

You know what I'm curious about? When did Cass meet the batfamily? When you think about it she could have easily been around since S2 since she never joined the Team or worked w/any heroes outside of the batfamily. (The mission to track Mad Hatter was probably Arrowette's first time working w/Cass. Unlike Robin and Spoiler, she seemed a little unnerved by Cass). Actually I kind of want a timeline of when all the bats met. All I have are HC's. Like I hc Dick became NW at 15 and Jason shortly -
2 showed up afterwards. That way they'd have lived together since Greg said they were close (in this verse I imagine Dick gave Robin to Jason rather then Bruce did). Jason trained for a year then joined the Team for around Two years. He died then Tim showed up and admitted to Dick he knew the Batfam's secret ID's. Tim trains for at least a year under Bruce, Dick and Bab's (who became Batgirl a little before Jason showed up) then joins the Team shortly after being considered ready for the field.-
3 That's why in S2 ep 1 he's still very nervous about missions and leading Teams despite being trained by the best. Jason's death and being finished w/his training is still fresh on his mind. As I said about Cass, well she probably showed up in the 2 year gap between S2-S3. But again until canon confirms, I kind of like to hc she came a bit after Tim. Maybe on one of Tim's first missions w/Bruce they found Cass and Bruce brought her home. She prefers Gotham/Bat teams over the Team. S2 begins.
It’s a mystery right now, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Bruce had her off the Team due to her past and probably because he’s a bit worried that the others wouldn’t be able to understand her, due to her being unable to speak. Yeah I noticed that Cissie seemed really unsure of Cassandra, but seeing how Steph and Tim react to her, it’s clear that they get how she thinks and moves. I think it’s rather telling that they pair her up with Arrowette as it’s probably a way for Cissie to learn more about Cassandra.
I figure that Jason showed up around the time Dick was 16, and probably you’re right that Dick gave Jason the robin persona in this case. Given how Greg said they were close, as you pointed out. We probably saw less of this
And more of this...
I think during the in between season 2 and 3 Gotham had No man’s land, which is why Luthor has his job right now. Honestly you’re time line certainly works well as it fits in the story and I wouldn’t doubt that there’s probably a tie in with Jason and Dick possibly being the reason Tim joined the bat family.
I have a feeling that Tim’s nerves possibly also come from being worried about losing people he cares about. He knows about the loss of Jason and now Wally, and probably has to deal with his dead mom and maybe dead Dad. So there’s that too.
Tim is the only member of the Batfamily that has a normal life, or did. He has a dad (and maybe mom) to come home to. He wants to do something other than be a detective, and he’s the only one that doesn’t exactly live off Bruce’s money. And like Peter Parker, he has to hid the truth from his dad. So that can lead to some issues as well for him and screwing up. I’m betting some of the more confidence may come from him working with Steph and Cassandra and maybe training them with Dick and teaching them what he knows.
I honestly think that Cassandra probably came in as a bit of a surprise, I have a feeling that we got her the same way we got the the Trio, in that she sort of followed them home. I can just see Dick giving Bruce the Puppy eyes with Tim and him going “Fine.” I wonder if she came in via a No Man’s land like situation, or if they’ll be following her showing up in the New 52? I can totally buy that she prefers the Bats over the Team. Though I would like to see her on the team at some point. I think it would be fun.
Hope this makes sense.
