So, I was rewatching Umbrella Academy this week [as one does] and I got to thinking
Klaus can't die. Like it has obviously been stated based on the number of times he has died and come back to life. And this is well known and not what this is about but
In season 1, Five is in the apocalyptic world surrounded by the bodies of his dead siblings.... Klaus included...
Obviously in season 1 he had a pretty long waiting period before he came back to life because he hadn't trained with Reginald the bitch yet but like...what happened when he woke up??
Had Five moved on already and Klaus just chilled by himself in the apocalypse with the ghosts of his siblings? Or was Five like not telling the truth when he said he was alone and was actually hanging out with Klaus for a while there as well and that's why he seems to have such a good relationship with him throughout the seasons compared to the other siblings.
Or am I overthinking this all and it is just a plot hole that the authors didn't realize haha

20 Questions For Fic Writers
thank you @garglyswoof and @stars-and-darkness for tagging me!
How many works do you have on ao3?
12, though 2 of those are moodboards so don't really count.
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
553,036. Huh. Lower than I expected. No doubt that will shoot up when the tbbw rewrite is done [fake laughter, hiding real pain]
3. What fandoms do you write for?
TVD, TO a.k.a Klaroline
4. Top five fics by kudos:
The Big Bad Wolf, Into Eternity, The Little Wolf, The Red Wedding and Falling For You.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to respond to every one as I love talking with readers. I figure if someone spends time to write a comment, I'll return the favour and reply. In fact when I'm updating fics regularly, if my reply to your comment turns up in your inbox it's often a pre-warning that a new chapter is about to drop, as I read over comments I've missed before updating.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Does Damon murder count? [I don't really do angsty endings, I need my happily ever after]
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Into Eternity. It's really sappy and makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. What can I say - I'm a romantic at heart.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yes, kinda. Is it hate if it's just wild interpretations of the characters or plot? Some people leave comments that just make you blink repeatedly and think...are they reading the same fic I'm writing? I remember one time someone left a comment calling Caroline a pushover (honestly had some kind of vendetta against her showing ANY kind of emotion like okaaaaay mate) even though in that very same chapter...she literally kicked Klaus is the balls. Man, that was a weird day.
9. Do you write smut?
No. Not yet. In the future? There may or may not be scenes planned. 😏 I'm picky with smut, I need feelings and the eMoTiOnS, I need to be INVESTED. Porn with plot, rather than just smut for smut's sake.
10. Craziest crossover:
Haven't written a crossover - unless intending to drop Dracula into tbbw at some point coints. There's some great ones in the fandom though, just not really my thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of [narrows eyes]
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No! But I'd be flattered if one ever was, as long as its translated on ao3 and given credit to me.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I haven't. I might be open to it though, if it was a round-robin kind of thing where the writers take in turns to write the scenes.
14. All time favorite ship?
KLAROLINE!!! NOW LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I really want to finish Divided We Fall, Falling For You and Songs of the Sea. I wouldn't say I doubt I'll ever finish them, just that I doubt I'll finish them while I'm still writing the tbbw series. Too much of the klaroline brain rot is invested in that fic alone.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told it's shifting between moods? So I can give readers whiplash in the emotions department - one minute you're crying, the next you're laughing. I like to think my strength is dialogue though. Even the way I write is focused around it.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Historical accuracy. I'll fall down a rabbit hole researching stuff like any writer, but the researching is more out of obligation and crippling writer guilt rather than actual enjoyment. Which is why I often take creative licence and go fuck it, history has its own au now bitches (sorry ella).
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
If its little words here and there - even a sentence or two - yes. Full conversations though unless you're fluent yourself are not fun to sift through.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
Star Wars? I want to say Star Wars. Idk those fanfics are over on my ffnet account which I will not be going back to anytime soon. I dare not go where the light doesn't touch, Mufasa speaks wisely.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
It used to be The Red Wedding but I actually love The Little Wolf more now. That one's a true labour of love, fueled on rage and spite, curtesy of Julie Plec.
I will tag @galvanizedfriend @kirythestitchwitch @marxandangels @bellemorte180 @impossiblekryptonitecolor @the-road-betwixt @purplesigebert @that-sarcastic-optimist

Rumor Has It
Summary: In the process of rediscovering her powers, Allison gets a tad carried away. Thankfully, her siblings are there to keep her in check.
Okay this is so self-indulgent but I’ve been wanting to write a fic about Allison’s powers for forever and I never got around to it. Don’t think too hard about the timeline on this one, I was going to end it with the dinner and then I realized I didn’t want to. Also, Lila is here because I love her.
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 AHEAD!!
Allison could confidently say she was the most patient of the Hargreeves siblings. With the boys, there was no contest—they were all volatile loose cannons with something to prove—and even Ben had fallen prey to the excess testosterone. Years of following Klaus around had brought back out Ben’s snarky side, which he had all-but-smothered in his younger years. A wise person would argue Vanya was patient, and their argument would have merit, but Vanya wasn’t so much patient as she was used to being forcibly subdued. She was kind and sweet, but she would never wait for anything again. She simply acted now. Allison could appreciate the sentiment, but that wasn’t how she operated—no matter how badly she wanted to.
She was always the moderator—the only one who could reign in six other unruly supers without losing a limb. So, when Reginald invited the seven of them to dinner, she had to call upon every ounce of her patience to keep from strangling one or all of them.
“I still say we kill him.” Diego stabbed a mango in the fruit bowl and pulled it towards himself. He started carefully peeling the skin, leaving the shavings in a little pile next to his plate.
“That solves nothing.” Allison sighed.
“It saves the president. I’d call that solving something.” Diego didn’t look up at her, but the aggressive way he sliced a huge chunk of skin off of the mango almost felt personal.
“I agree with Diego. I think it’d be fun.” Lila pulled Diego’s arm towards her so she could take a bite of the mango. He glared at her and she tweaked his nose, taking another large bite just to piss him off.
“See?” Diego gestured at Lila.
“No one is killing Dad. Let’s hear what he has to say, then we can figure out a plan.” Allison folded her hands on the table, relieved when everyone else seemed to be in agreement.  Klaus handed her a tiki cup and she took a grateful sip. It’d been a while since she’d had a good piña colada.
“Why? This whole thing could be over so quickly!”
“Yes, it could, but it won’t be.” She gave him one of her patented fake smiles, taking a pointed sip of her colada.
“Why? Because you’re in charge? Because you’ve got this under control?” Diego scoffed. He offered Lila a piece of his mango before she could steal another bite.
“Oh boy, here we go.” Luther muttered.
“Do you want a drink? No? Well, I do. I’m gonna go get a drink.” Klaus stood and stumbled over to the bar, taking his second margarita of the night with him.
“What is that supposed to mean?” She crossed her arms.
“What authority do you really have, Allison?”
“I would say her powers are a pretty good authority. Plus, Allison’s a good leader.” Vanya piped up, smiling softly at her. Allison gave her hand a quick squeeze.
“Team Zero has no leaders. That’s the whole point.”
“Kinda hard to be Team Zero when you still want to be number one.” Five took an apple from the fruit bowl and took an innocent bite. Diego pushed his chair out, knife in hand, twirling it between his fingers.
“Diego, sit down! Now.” Allison didn’t stand. She wouldn’t sink to his level. Or, rise, rather.
“Make me.” Diego fixed Allison with a withering stare, but it paled in comparison to the one she gave him. In fact, she relished in the way he shivered when he met her eyes. Good. He should remember his place.
“Diego-” Luther tried, but one glare shut him down.
“Shut up. Allison, you want me to sit and behave? Make me.”
“Come on. Don’t do this,” Vanya whispered, trying to grab Diego’s knife hand. He simply flicked the knife behind his back and into his other hand. For a moment, it looked like Vanya’s pleading eyes would work, but Five chuckled and sealed the deal.
“Dinner and a show! Predictable as always.” Five folded his hands beneath his chin and stole a generous sip of Vanya’s cocktail.
“Shut up, twerp!” Diego pointed at him with the knife.
“Or else what? You’ll stab me?” Five was grinning now, goading Diego on purpose.
“Five!” Allison growled, and he rolled his eyes, falling quiet. At least he knew not to test her.
“Keep talking. Let’s find out.” Diego flipped the knife once, then twice, and each time it stayed in the air just a little too long.
“I’ve got ten bucks on Diego,” Lila said, kicking her feet up on the table. She took the liberty of finishing his mango for him, peeling away little bits of skin with her messy nails.
“Guys, stop it!” Vanya latched onto Diego’s arm, trying to force him down into his seat. He pulled away and she ended up jabbing his side. He flinched and glared at her, but did not budge. Allison’s lips quirked into a momentary smile.
“Allison,” Vanya said quietly, gesturing at the brewing fight. Allison rolled her eyes and threw up her hands.
“Okay! Just remember you asked for this!” Allison smirked, and the room suddenly felt a bit colder. She could feel everyone’s attention on her, but she had Diego’s eyes, and that was all she needed.
“I heard a rumor that you started tickling yourself.” Allison’s voice echoed through the room, the sound waves capturing her brother. Just before his eyes turned white, she could see the look of minute panic, that look of ‘oh shit’ that he always made before being put in his place. Allison smiled, curled her tongue against her teeth, and dropped the winning blow.
“Coochie coo, Diego.” She couldn’t help the giggle that bubbled out on the end of her sentence. Diego’s hands raised towards his body as if they didn’t belong to him, fingers wiggling in that way that had always ruined him as a kid—slow, methodical, and teasing. Both hands dug into his sides, just below his ribs, and he yelped, quickly consumed by his own high-pitched laughter. The sight was strange—90% of Diego was squirming up a storm trying to escape himself, but his arms and hands kept him pinned exactly where Allison wanted him.
“How does that work?” Lila laughed, unable to hide her snickers when Diego squealed. She fluttered her fingers over his neck and was delighted to find that he couldn’t fight back—what with his hands being so busy, and all.
“Her power shuts off the sense of self-awareness in the brain, I think. You can’t tickle yourself normally because the laughter is a panic response. Your brain knows it’s you, so you can’t make yourself laugh, unless you’re ridiculously ticklish, or something. Allison’s power is making Diego’s brain think his hands aren’t his, even though he knows they are. It’s really interesting, actually.” Vanya beamed, unable to resist poking him in the ribs a few times. He threw his head back in his chair and somehow found it in himself to giggle louder when his rumored hands found a home underneath his arms, drawing unbearable shapes and driving him up the wall. Everyone, excluding Diego, turned to stare at Vanya.
“What? I like science.” She shrugged.
“It is...creative, I’ll say.” Five crossed his arms, then uncrossed them, as if he didn’t trust his own hands.
“Yeah, I haven’t heard him laugh like that since we were kids. He still sounds like a kettle.” Klaus chuckled.
“Shut up, Klaus!” Diego squeaked out, tossing his head side to side. He puffed his cheeks out, trying to rein in his laughter, but it only lasted until his left hand hit that spot just above his top rib that made him fully cackle.
“Aww, this is cute.” Lila ruffled his hair, knowing full well she wouldn’t have gotten away with it had Diego not been testing the range of his vocal chords. Lila shot Allison a look she couldn’t quite read—something akin to a thoughtful expression, as if she was taking a mental note—and smiled.
“Diego? I think your legs could use some attention.” Allison watched with delight as Diego’s hands dove for his thighs. One hand started squeezing while the other wiggled up and down, and the rate at which he plummeted into desperate belly laughter was almost alarming. He twisted off of the chair and onto the floor, eyes screwed shut.
“Allison, stohop!” Diego squealed, absolutely hysterical. Jesus Christ, no one had ever been this ruthless with him before. Her powers were hitting spots he didn’t even know he had, and each fresh discovery sent him into a wave of overwhelming, giggly panic. Every time he tried to take command of his hands, something blocked him, like the wires in his brain weren’t quite connected.
“Nope! Not until you apologize for being an asshole. And agree to be nice.”
“I can’t—noho!” He arched his back and drummed his heels on the floor. Watching his own hands wreak havoc on his worst spot set off all kinds of butterflies in his stomach. His hands kept digging in infuriating patterns, completely overwhelming his nervous system with tickly sparks.
“Sure you can! It’s very easy.” Allison winked at him and he growled, but it dissolved very quickly into giggles.
“You’re all a bunch of children,” Five sighed.
“Five, why don’t you join him?” Allison asked sweetly, stirring her drink with the straw. Five’s look of confusion melted into a brief flicker of white eyes, and soon his cackles mingled with Diego’s rich laughter. He hit the floor much quicker than his brother, but that might’ve had something to do with his borrowed hands flying straight for his knees. Five squealed and kicked his legs, rolling around on the ground as he tried and failed to escape.
Watching Five and Diego writhe, so tangled in their laughter that they couldn’t threaten her if they wanted to, her heart skipped a few beats. Sure, the power was going to her head a bit, but it’s not like her brothers didn’t have it coming.  She was doing a public service. Speaking of public service, Diego was starting to turn an interesting color.
“If I let you go, are you going to be nice tonight? I will embarrass you in front of dad, I don’t even care.”
“Y-Yes! Lemme goho!”
“Fine.” She waved a hand and Diego went limp. He lifted his hands to his face to muffle the last few giggles trickling from his lips. With some difficulty, he pulled himself to his feet, stumbling back into his chair with an arm wrapped around his torso. Sparing Diego brought a softness in Allison, and she smiled at Five.
“You can let your knees go. I always liked your giggles more anyway.” He disappeared in a flash of blue and reappeared behind her, arms outstretched and ready to strangle, but Allison sighed. He was so...predictable. A creature of unfortunate habit.
“I heard a rumor that you tickled your ribs silly.”
“Noho!” He hit the ground in seconds, tripping over his own feet as he went.
“Really?” She turned and arched a brow at him.
“I hate yohou!”
“You’re lucky I didn’t mention your hands.” She scoffed, then flinched when Five shrieked. One of his hands started going to town on the other, scratching so gently that Allison almost couldn’t believe how loud he was. He squirmed so violently that she was sure he’d’ve punched her if she’d been close enough.
“Oopsie.” She grimaced, biting her lip.
“Allison, hey.” Vanya smiled, obviously amused, but tilted her head towards the elevator. The up arrow was glowing red and, yeah, it was probably, regrettably, time to stop.
“You can stop, Five,” She murmured, and he wheezed, scrubbing his palms against his jacket to erase sensation. The feeling of the fibers sliding against his palms sent him into another flurry of giggles as he clenched his fists.
Some cruel, playful itch at the back of Allison’s mind had been thoroughly scratched—so much so that when Diego still took a jab at her for not using her powers, she made him punch himself instead of embarrassing him.
She liked using her powers. The force with which they held her was sometimes scary, but for harmless instances like this? It was what she had been missing growing up. Everyone else got to mess around with their powers, but she was never really allowed to. Being the responsible and patient one meant being the buzzkill in her siblings’ eyes, and buzzkills didn’t often get roped into the intense, multi-floor, super-tickle-fights that had dominated what few happy memories that the Hargreeves had as children.
She started slow with reintroducing her powers, not wanting to overwhelm or scare anyone. She was still trying to get past the look on Patrick’s face when he’d caught her rumouring Claire. Allison knew her siblings would never look at her like that—in fact, they were the only people who ever wanted her to use her powers. She started with simple things: convincing Five to get some rest after refusing to sleep, ending an argument between Luther and Diego that was quickly spiraling out of control—even on Klaus, who would not stop fighting with Ben during the night. That last one wasn’t truly necessary, but the walls were thin and their rooms shared an unfortunate border.
“What color are you thinking?” Klaus dumped his armful of nail polish bottles onto her bed, just barely catching a few before they clattered to the floor.
“Yellow?” She gingerly picked one from the pile.
“I love it.” He beamed and took a seat in front of her, unscrewing the cap. The brightness and warmth of the polish made her smile. It was the color of her favorite dress from the decade they’d left behind—the dress that Raymond had always loved. Klaus took her foot and laid it on his leg, sticking his tongue out to concentrate.
Someone softly cleared their throat and the two of them looked up to see Vanya hovering in the doorway. Allison smiled and waved her in, and she plopped on the ground next to Klaus. Vanya leaned over to watch Klaus work.
“You like the color?” Allison asked. Things between them were still fragile.
“It’s lovely. Sissy’s favorite, actually.” Vanya smiled softly, fiddling with her shirt sleeves a bit, and Allison knew things were okay, for the time being.
Three pairs of stomping footsteps echoed down the hall and Allison looked up, catching her brothers lingering in the doorway, though seemingly not on purpose. Luther and Five had cornered a brooding Diego who looked like he was a few seconds away from impaling one or both of them.
“Diego, quit being such a grouch.” Luther shoved his shoulder lightly.
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Diego grumbled, arms crossed.
C’mon man, it’s been days. No one likes when you sulk around. Just lighten up a little.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Diego held a knife up to Luther’s throat.
“Five, a little help here?”
“Oh, I don’t care.” Five stuck his hands in his pockets and smiled.
“Diego. Dude.” Luther shook Diego’s shoulder again and he growled, grabbing Luther’s meaty hand and wrenching it backwards.
“I heard a rumor that Luther and Five tickled you until you admit defeat,” Allison piped up, giggling at the look of absolute betrayal on Diego’s face. Five cackled of his own volition, happy as a clam to have a reason to torment his brother.
“Allison, no!” He bolted, Five and Luther hot on his heels.
“Have fun!” She called after them.
“That was mean.” Klaus chided, wiggling his fingers over her sole. She squeaked and tried to pull away, but his grip was tight on her ankle.
“Klaus! I’m gonna mess up the polish!” She whined around a giggle, hiding her face in her hands.
“No you won’t. Just stay still.” Klaus chuckled, continuing to apply the polish with one hand. With the other, he kept scratching gently
“Yeah, Allison, just stay still.” Vanya took hold of Allison’s ankle and fluttered along her arch, taking note of which spots made her curl in on herself and paying them extra attention.
It was then that Allison decided they were no longer exempt from her wrath. Everyone was fair game now. Though, maybe she could show them a little mercy, since they definitely could be a lot meaner.
They only stopped once they made her squeal—Klaus scratched his nail repeatedly over her big toe until she nearly fell on the floor—and even after, they wouldn't stop teasing her about the noise she’d made. She filed away her large-scale revenge plan and settled for tickling them both once Klaus had finished her nails.
There was a lesson in quitting while you’re ahead, but, pinned to the couch and screaming, Allison was starting to think it had gone over her head.
It had started with Lila throwing a movie night—her way of apologizing for, well, everything without having to say the words. Lila had set up a sort of nest situation with pillows and blankets, allowing the siblings to choose their seats freely. Allison and Vanya snuggled on one end of the couch while Luther claimed the other, and the rest of them piled on one another in front of the couch. Lila laid with her head in Diego’s lap, and Klaus and Five were cozy next to them. They hadn’t existed this way in years. It would’ve been nice, had the tension not been so thick.
All of them were almost afraid to relax, as if they’d all simultaneously remembered how long it’d been since they’d properly been together as a family. Five looked like he would explode if anyone touched him, Diego was far too occupied with his box of Thin Mints, and Klaus’s knee was shaking far too much not to be distracting to everyone present.
A smile tugged at her lips. If any situation called for an intervention, it was this one. Possibly even more than her previous abuses of power.
“They need to lighten up, don’t you think?” Allison murmured, stealing a pretzel from the bag Vanya was holding.
“They are a bit..tense.” Vanya chuckled. Allison took the pretzels and set them safely aside before gesturing for her to lean close.
“I heard a rumor that you started messing with Klaus,” Allison whispered, munching on another pretzel. Vanya fixed her with a ‘really?’ face and she shrugged in apology. Vanya started nudging Klaus with her foot, waiting just long enough between gentle shoves that it was annoying. After about the eighth time, Klaus whirled around and grabbed Vanya’s ankle, skittering his fingers up her leg.
“Vanya!” He gasped in mock offense, spidering his nails in random circles. Vanya simply slid down the couch cushion like a pile of jello, the fight already drained from her body. Allison had been hoping for a more explosive reaction, but this would do as a start. She leaned forward and put a hand on Diego’s shoulder.
“I heard a rumor that you started a proper tickle fight.” She finished the command with a quick flutter at the back of his neck. Diego snatched her hand and yanked her forwards, using the change in momentum to grab her foot and go to town. She snorted and shoved at the back of his head, anything to get him to let go.
“Not with me! Nevermind, I heard a rumor you stole Five’s marshmallows.” She shoved him off of her and grinned when he immediately lunged for them. In that moment, Five was indistinguishable from a feral racoon as he dove for the treats. Lila managed to roll out of the way just before she was crushed.
“Give them back!” He screeched, reaching for the bag just out of his grip. Diego took advantage of his long arms and stretched as far away as possible.
“Nah, I don’t think so.” Diego dropped a marshmallow into his mouth, making direct eye contact as he chewed and swallowed. Five trembled with rage.
“You’re dead.” He pounced onto Diego who yelped before dissolving into frantic giggles, arms flailing about as he tried to dislodge Five. He squirmed right into Klaus, who took hold of his legs and dug in wherever he could reach. Vanya made a game of poking Diego’s stomach as many times as possible while dodging his hands. She could see the moment where her rumor dissolved, the four of them effortlessly carrying on the playfulness without aid.
Allison snuck a glance at Luther. He was still crushed into his corner of the couch, looking unbelievably uncomfortable but at least amused at the struggle going on beneath him. He deserved to smile as much as them.
“I heard a rumor-”
“That you were wildly ticklish, all over,” Lila said from behind her, and holy shit, when did she get there? Lila poked her side and a bright giggle bubbled out from her lips before she could stop it. Dread and anticipation tangled in her stomach. She’d never been that sensitive there before.
Uh oh.
“Lila, we can talk about this.” Allison raised her hands in surrender as Lila vaulted over the couch, straddling her before she could escape.
“That’s the problem, Allison. You’re still talking, not laughing.” Lila kneaded her thumbs into the sides of Allison’s stomach and she squealed, trying her damndest to grab the offending hands.
This was uncharted territory for her. She was used to teasy hands grabbing her neck or for roughhousing to turn into a mad grab for her feet. She knew exactly what it would feel like every time. This was technically the same, but radically different. Her body just didn’t know what to do. It was like being tickled for the first time ever, before her body knew what was going on. Every single part of her was sending up flares of tickly panic as she squirmed underneath Lila.
When someone—Klaus, judging by the cold shock of a few rings—grabbed hold of her feet, it dawned on her how what she’d put Diego through might’ve been a little mean.
“Lehet goho!”
“Hey, Allison? I think your legs could use some attention,” Diego said in an annoying mockery of her voice, but she was far too indisposed to reprimand him for it.
“I-” She started to plead, but verbal communication flew out the window entirely when Vanya started tickling lightly under her chin and down the column of her throat. It was so gentle and clearly loving, but the contrast between Vanya and the fiends going to town on the rest of her body only doubled her desperation to get away.
Diego hooked his fingers behind Allison’s knee and she nearly launched Lila across the room with how hard she thrashed. Her nervous system whited out for a minute as she squealed louder, doing everything she could to wrench her feet from Klaus’s grasp so she could kick Diego in the face.
“No! Stohop!” Great, she was snorting now.
“Uh-oh! Bad spot?” Klaus drawled, scribbling over her feet. Lila wormed her fingers into the crevices of Allison’s ribs, making sure to pinch and prod every so often, just to draw out little squeaks and hiccups. Diego found a spot on the side of her thigh where if he wiggled his fingers, Allison’s giggles would turn wheezy, and he was having far too much fun with it.
“Ihit tihickles!”
“Does it? Are you sure?” Lila vibrated a claw into Allison’s stomach and she threw her head back into the couch with a loud cackle. That was definitely new. Vanya giggled somewhere above her, dragging her fingers over the shells of her ears.
“Yes, oh my god-” She clamped her elbows to her sides when Lila tried to sneak her hands under her arms. Her brain sent out about fifty warning signals, essentially begging her not to let this happen, and while she had no clue where the knowledge had come from, she wasn’t about to question it.
“Alright, I’m sorry!” She tried to curl around Lila’s hands but that only made things worse.
“Damn straight.” Diego scoffed, (surprisingly) the first to let her go. After a few other quick pokes, the others released her, watching as she heaved in sweet oxygen. Every inch of her body was fizzling as she came down from her laughter. She covered her face, hiding her recovery, until two very mean hands darted into her exposed armpits. Allison bucked up hard, loud and bright laughter overcoming her as she thrashed on the couch. A few seconds felt like hours, and when Lila finally did stop, Allison wheezed before mustering the energy to glare.
“Lila!”
“Sorry! I just wanted to see what would happen.” She smiled, sheepish, but not at all apologetic.
“I hope I didn’t ruin movie night,” Allison murmured, looking up and around at her siblings.
“Au contraire! I think you made movie night. Everyone, grab your snacks. I want to see this kid fuck up some robbers.” Klaus started the movie without waiting for the others, earning groans of annoyance and panicked scrambling as everyone tried to find their seats. Lila stayed on the couch, pulling Allison’s legs across her lap, while Vanya adjusted so Allison’s head would be more comfy. Klaus laid across Diego’s back and Five propped his legs on top of them, popping marshmallows in his mouth like popcorn.
A success, if ever there was one.

Christmas fic request, you can choose what you like better: Klaus wants to surprise Ben with a gift for Christmas. How does he do that though when Ben is a ghost that's, like, with him 24/7? OR Ben wants to give Klaus a gift for Christmas. How does he do that when he's... well, a ghost? What can he give? (thank you!)
Anon, my dude. You get me so much. I know this is really late, bur here it finally is!
Title: Two Presents
Summary: How does one surprise their dead brother that follows them around everywhere with a Christmas gift? Well, Klaus better figure it out soon, because Christmas is right around the corner and Ben isn't going anywhere.
(Read on AO3 + FFN)
___
“I need help with Ben’s Christmas gift.”
Okay, yes, maybe Klaus should have planned this whole Christmas gift thing a bit better, but it wasn’t his fault that Ben followed him around twenty-four seven. Not that it was Ben’s, but that didn’t change the fact that he was getting in the way of his surprise.
So, of course, he asked Diego for help.
“You need help with Ben’s Christmas gift,” Number Two repeated. “My help.”
“Precisely.”
“And you’re telling me this now, a day before Christmas.”
“Possibly.”
“And you’re expecting me to help you.”
“Indeed.”
Diego sighed, bringing his hand to his nose. “Klaus, you can’t just… You can’t just do that. I have things to do, and the streets are drowning in traffic.”
“Pretty please?” Klaus said, taking a paper out of his pocket and handing it to Diego. Diego glanced at it for a second, then back at Klaus. “It’s the name of the book. Should be easy enough to find.”
He knew he was pushing his luck. Diego was on his nerves again, Ben was in the room next door with Vanya, manifested, and Klaus could already feel his powers draining; there wasn’t much time left before Ben dematerialized and came back to him for company.
“Fine.” Diego pocketed the piece of paper. “But you owe me, Klaus.”
“Thank you, Diego dear!” Klaus said and pulled his brother in for a big hug.
He felt kinda bad for putting this on Diego, but it wasn’t as if he had a choice.
There was nothing that could make up for everything Ben had done for Klaus. Taking care of him when no one else was there, being his one and only friend, loving him for who he was, not who he should have been. Ben deserved a Christmas gift. It was the least Klaus could do.
Speak of the devil. Not ten seconds later, Ben phased through the door.
He had this look on his face, the one he always had when he was worried about something. Klaus couldn’t blame him; he had just been robbed of his quality time with Vanya.
“Hey Benny,” Klaus said.
“Ben’s here?” Diego asked, and Klaus pulled away from him. He pointed towards the spot Ben was standing at, and Diego tried his best at looking into his eyes, or so Klaus assumed. “Hey Ben.”
“Hey,” Ben said, smiling a little bit. He then turned to Klaus. “Did you ask him about it?”
“Nope.” Klaus clapped his hands together, looking at Diego.
“Klaus, what’s going on? What did Ben say?”
“Ben and I want to get gifts for everyone, since my name is Santa Klaus and all,” Klaus explaind. Diego opened his mouth to speak, but Klaus was quicker. “So… Can you drive us to the mall?”
It was the perfect plan; Diego would leave Ben and Klaus to buy their gifts while he did his own thing—buying the book—and Ben wouldn’t suspect a thing.
The next day, when the entire family had gathered around the tree to open their gifts, Klaus couldn’t shake the stupid grin off his face as Ben stared in awe at the gift in his hands.
“Uh, Klaus?” He turned around, only to see Luther holding out a box for him to take. “This one’s for you.”
Klaus took it in his hands and stared; the small box was wrapped in green paper, and a neat red ribbon was placed on top. At the side, there was a label.
To: Klaus
Ah, yes, Vanya’s handwriting—
From: Ben
Wait, what?
___
“I need help with Klaus’ Christmas gift.”
Vanya turned around to look at Ben. She had just closed the door to Klaus’ room—Klaus was hanging out in Diego’s with him—and Ben hadn’t given her time to say a single word.
“Wh… What?” Vanya said.
“Klaus’ Christmas gift,” Ben repeated. “I obviously can’t go buy it myself, so I need your help.”
Vanya had known there was something suspicious about Ben wanting to host one of their book-discussion meetings Klaus’ room, but this wasn’t what she’d expected at all.
“O-Okay?” Vanya said, because what could she say? No? No. “What can I do?”
“Okay so,” Ben said, not wasting a single second, “you know how Klaus is afraid of—” Ben stopped himself, as if he was reconsidering his words. “Klaus has trouble focusing. Like, besides being Klaus, everything can get a little bit too overwhelmed at times and—yeah.”
Vanya knew that feeling all too well.
“Anyway,” Ben continued. “He really likes listening to music, but he’s also an idiot, so he lost his music player.”
“So you want me to buy a new one?” Ben nodded. “On Christmas Eve?”
“And headphones.”
“Ben!”
“I would have told you earlier if I could!” Ben crossed his arms. “I know it’s a lot to ask, so I understand if you don’t want to—”
“No, I’ll do it,” Vanya said. “But there’s a problem.”
Ben’s face cringed at the mention of an obstacle. “Which is?”
“I don’t have a car, and public transport’s packed today. I probably wouldn’t even make it in time, it’s…” She looked at her watch. “Shit, it’s five already!”
Ben bit his lip and looked to the side, bouncing his leg like he always did when he was nervous. His eyes were pinned on the wall that led to Diego’s room.
“Ben—”
“I think I might have a solution to that.”
___
The last thing Diego wanted was a family trip to the mall.
As it turns out, Vanya also needed to do some last-minute shopping, so he was stuck in the car with three of his siblings, one of which was a ghost, one who wouldn’t shut up, and one who probably hated him the same way he had for so many years.
“Are we there yet?” Klaus asked, and it took all of Diego’s self-control not to punch him right there and now.
“What do you think,” Diego asked, pointing at all the traffic in front of them. Klaus pouted and leaned his head against the window again. This was going to be a long ride.
They reached the mall at around seven, but that was without the extra thirty minutes it took them to find a place to park the car. Diego was smart enough to tell the others to go on without him, and that he’d meet them when he actually found a parking spot.
Vanya stayed in the car though.
It wasn’t as if Diego didn’t like Vanya. Quite the opposite, actually. Diego left the Academy on heated terms with everyone, but it wasn’t until Vanya wrote her book that Diego got furious with her.
After stopping the Apocalypse, he’d been trying to do better.
And of course he’d apologised, but he’d said some nasty things to her in the past, things that didn’t just go away. So yes, maybe it was kind of his fault that his car ride with his sister was so awkward. He’d just have to deal with it.
“So… What are you picking up?” Vanya asked.
It was only then that Diego realised he had no idea where to look for the book. The last time he’d stepped into a bookstore was ages ago, and he felt really awkward about asking for a book they probably didn’t even have.
“I’m going to tell you something, but you can’t tell Ben or Klaus,” Diego said, making the same turn for the twentieth time.
“Okay.”
Okay. “Klaus asked me to get Ben something for Christmas.”
“Can I tell you something?” Vanya asked, and Diego hummed in response. “Ben asked me to get something for Klaus.”
Diego huffed, shaking his head. “Of course he did.”
He’d never understand the bond between Ben and Klaus. For the longest time, Diego had thought he was the only one from the family Klaus had kept in touch with after leaving, but boy, had he been in the wrong.
Thirteen years and counting. That’s how much time they’d spend together.
“It’s funny what these two have,” Vanya said as if she was reading Diego’s thoughts.
“Tell me about it,” Diego said. “They’re the last two people in our family I thought would get along so well.”
“I know,” Vanya said. “Ben was always so… Contained, you know? He’s changed.” She paused. “Not that it’s a bad thing! Just surprising, is all.”
“Well, we all grow up,” Diego said. He cunder his breath when another driver took the free parking space. “Look at me, driving you all to the way mall without any complaints.”
“Without any complaints?” Vanya asked, and Diego could hear the smile in her voice.
“Oh, shut up,” Diego said.
No one spoke after that, and Diego hated it. It meant there was nothing else to be said, that Vanya didn’t want to talk to him anymore. And yet, Diego was also silent, even though he had so much more to say.
“Will you help me find the book for Ben?” he asked.
“Sure,” Vanya said. “If we ever find a parking space.”
There was silence again, but this time it was comfortable.
___
Ben was acting weird, and even he knew it.
Barely had he had the time to explain his plan to Vanya, when he started fading away. By some sort of miracle, his sister had understood.
She was coming with them to the mall. Them being Ben, Klaus and Diego.
Ben and Klaus had been planning this trip to the mall for weeks. Ideally, it wouldn’t happen on Christmas Eve, but there they were, struggling to pay for a new scarf for Allison.
“You’re only getting this so you can wear it yourself,” Ben said as they exited the shop.
Klaus faked a gasp. “Are you doubting the fact that Allison will like it?”
“No,” Ben said. “I’m just saying that she won’t really have the time to enjoy it if you steal it from her.”
“Boooooo,” Klaus pouted.
Ben couldn’t help but smile. “Who’s next on the list? I have the perfect idea for Vanya.”
“Bookstore?”
“Bookstore.”
Watching Klaus try to ask for the book Ben had in mind for Vanya was more than painful.
“I think it’s called the Adventurous Castle?” Klaus said. “By, uh… Erica Blyt-something.”
“The Castle of Adventure by Enid Blyton.”
“The Castle of Adventure by Enid Blyton!” Klaus repeated. The employee looked a bit confused as to how Klaus recalled the name so confidently after struggling for a good five minutes, but didn’t protest. Soon enough, they had the book put in a festive bag. “Thank you!”
It was then that Ben noticed their siblings in the next aisle. “Shit, Klaus!”
Klaus must have noticed them too, because Ben had never seen him so worried before. “Let’s get the fuck out of here,” Klaus said, and they ran out the store.
Cut to Christmas Day.
They had all gathered around the tree in the living room, dressed in their pyjamas. The logical thing would be for Klaus to be handing out the gifts—he had insisted he was Santa Klaus, after all—but somehow they’d convinced Luther to do it. He was even wearing a Christmas hat.
“For Allison, from…” Luther sighed. “Santa Klaus and Ben on the Shelf—guys, this doesn’t even rhyme—”
“Just give her the gift!”
The next hour went on like this, opening their presents one by one, until they decided to hand them out simultaneously to save time. After all, lunch was almost ready, and everyone wanted to try Mom’s festive dishes.
“The Castle of Adventures,” Vanya, who was sitting next to Ben, said through a smile. “I can’t believe you.”
Ben shrugged in a teasing way, and Vanya pulled him in for a hug.
Ben remembered when they were kids, sneaking into each other’s rooms and reading books till their eyes hurt. They discovered Enid Blyton’s books together, and got lost in the mysteries she described. The Castle of Adventures was the only one from The Adventure Series they didn’t have.
So yes. Judging by Vanya’s reaction, he’d take that as a victory.
“Ben,” Luther said, handing him a gift.
He didn’t think much of it at first—he still hadn’t opened Five’s gift, and a book sounded like something he’d receive from him—but then he read the label.
For: Ben
From: Klaus
He must had been staring for hours, or so it felt like. How was it even possible that Klaus got him a—
Diego’s handwriting. “This is why you freaked when we saw Di and Vee in the bookstore, isn’t—”
Ben stopped when he realised Klaus was holding a gift of his own, looking at it in disbelief. A smile had crept up his face, and he turned to look at Ben with an even wider one. “Bitch.”
Number Six chuckled. “You’re one to talk.”
“I think it’s only fair that you open them at the same time,” Five said, not looking away from his stack of books. He seemed so proud of it, a smug look on his face.
And so they did.
Unlike with all his other gifts, Ben opened the blue wrapping paper with care, too scared to damage what was inside.
It wasn’t surprising to him that the gift was a book. What was surprising was the book it was.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
Ben ran his fingers across the cover, as if he couldn’t believe he was actually holding it.
It wasn’t as if he hadn’t read the book before. Back when he and Klaus first left the Academy, they used to stop by the library once in a while, just so Ben could take a look at the books. And Klaus? He’d hold them open for him, turn the pages as Ben read along.
The Alchemist was the first book they ever read like this.
He almost started crying. Almost.
He was snapped back into reality when Klaus pushed him back on the floor, trapping him in a bone-crushing hug.
“Guessing you liked the present,” Ben joked, struggling to breathe—not like he needed the air.
“You have no idea how much I love you,” Klaus said, not letting go in the slightest. “You asshole. I love you.”
It was then that the first tear rolled down Ben’s cheek. “I love you too,” he said, finally hugging him back as best as he could.
It looked awkward and funny, and Allison had probably taken enough pictures to ruin their lives for good, but Ben didn’t care. If he could spend an eternity like this with Klaus, he would in a heartbeat.
“We’re going to listen to The Doors and The Hollies all night,” Klaus said, taking a laugh out of everyone.
When everyone went to bed that night, Numbers Four and Six stayed up listening to music through Klaus’ new music player, and reading Ben’s book the same way they had all these years ago.
For the first time in a really long time, Klaus slept like a baby, and Ben didn’t mind waiting for him to wake up.

so, TUA s2 thoughts
I haven’t actually finished it but I’ve got the gist of it lol
I finished it this afternoon! Whoo!
Spoilers under the cut.
So I had a few Big Fears going in. And none of them eventuated. WHOO. Or didn’t eventuate in the ways I was most concerned about.
1. I was scared they’d give Reginald a Redemption Arc TM. They did not. Thank god.
2. I was scared that the sibling interactions would suck. They did not! They were amazing. Glorious. I had to rewind so many to just truly savour them.
3. I was worried about Lila. I mean, she “gets in the way of my ship” but I’m good at ignoring that. Honestly, I kinda dug her.
4. I was worried about the “ewwwww incest” stuff. But they... actually didn’t do it terribly. Luther and Allison still clearly adore each other. It was referenced a number of times and never as an “ewwww”. I really loved that. There were some gorgeous moments and like, as one of my friends said... It seemed like they were trying to sit neutral on the issue. Which I can understand and respect.
5. I was worried about the Kliego interactions. And yeah, we didn’t really get them. BUT as a writer, I definitely felt I got more sand to play with. I’m already working on at least three new ideas and I haven’t even finished the season yet. Also, I definitely am gonna need more Luego, more Biego, and if I ever stop feeling shy, I’ll probs join Electra-XT and achilleees on their Fiego ship. I’m just realising what the common denominator is here but that’s also not a surprise. Diego is my baby and I ship him with everyone.
Things I wasn’t scared about per se, but was pleasantly surprised about:
Allison and Raymond - I went in a bit cautious because it looked like the Alluther was going to be all EWWWW INCEST. But... god, the love that man had for her... He was just wonderful. It was just beautiful. I really genuinely enjoyed them.
The sit-in etc - I was scared about this one, but not in the same way as I was that Reginald would get a redemption arc. I’m a white person, and I’m not from the US so I cannot comment fully on it, but... it seemed like they tried to do a good job with it. I definitely need to read more about race relations in that time period in particular before I can comment effectively. The police brutality was.... brutal. Heart wrenching. And timely given what we’re seeing in the world right now, and have been seeing for far too long. Defund the goddamn police.
Klaus’ hair and outfits - seems inane compared to the last point.... But like. I thought Robbie looked so incredibly hot all season. I miss his goth aesthetic but... damn. He looked so gooooood.
Diego’s hair and outfits - I expected to hate them more than I did. Apparently my rare sexual attraction to him knows no limits because I was so thirsty watching him.
Luther - I was so happy that he was so fucking likeable! I have been on the “we do not insult luther hargreeves in this house” team for quite a while, but I felt that Luther really shone this season. My big, soft, idiot, earnest boy...
Elliot - I rather enjoyed him! RIP.
Some things I was less than thrilled about....
The siblings being mean to Diego : ( - The “Klaus Hargreeves Needs a Hug” tag got a beating last season. I swear, if we don’t get 500 “Diego Hargreeves Gets A Hug” fics, I’m gonna write them all my damn self. I’m also not going “uwu my baby had people be mean to him : (((((” but like. No. No, that.... A lot of it kinda really got me down.
The Ben possessing Klaus stuff - Like. I get it. But I just... Klaus might be annoying but he was pretty : ( at being possessed and like... It felt pretty icky to me. Klaus literally said he felt violated. Ben was all “mwahahaha once you sleep I’m gonna take over your body”. I get why Ben was annoyed and why he wanted to. Doesn’t mean I feel nice about that whole... thing.
The Vanya/Sissy thing - I see a lot of sides of the coin here. I have some friends who were thrilled because they love Vanya being a lesbian, and having representation. But I also saw: stereotyping of what A Lesbian Is, pigeonholing Ellen to only play lesbians. Also, like, I went in cautious, but I was just... .....kinda bored with that storyline? And yeah, I would have preferred to just... you know, not have the amnesia. I liked seeing Vanya be happier, sure, but.. IDK it just didn’t make sense to me from a storytelling perspective.
Lila and Diego - Initially, I quite liked her. As a character, I enjoyed her. My ship aside.... Honestly, it makes me a bit *grimacing emoji* to see some of the stuff we saw. Like, I’m far from someone who thinks ships need to be Good and Pure. But at least some of the stuff I saw between them (such as, IDK, drugging... kidnapping... etc) makes it a bit of a nOTP. Not a FULL nOTP, but like... It definitely went from “awww” and “lolll” to “hmmm, not... not sure this particular pairing is for me personally”.
Things I wasn’t scared about but loved:
FIVE - Good god, Aidan has always been an impressive little fucker but he really stepped it up a notch this season. I loved the way he went psycho. I loved the love he always has for his family. I adored his lines. I adored his vulnerability, the little cracks we really got to see. He loves his family so fucking much T.T
DIEGO - They gave David some really, really good stuff to work with this season and he aced it. He was absolutely sensational. I adore this man. AND HIS POWERS.
KLAUS - Weird thing to be OMG about but... ......I was super there for Robbie’s legs this season... They’re so.. skinny. IDK, it’s weird. But I loved it. I loved his hair. I loved his outfits.
ALLLLLISSONNNNNNN - This woman is perfect. The End.
Misc Thoughts
Damn, given the above, it sounds like I’m all “uwu, all things must be good and pure” and that’s so not my standpoint. But I am team “there needs to be some basic respect both ways”, even for enemies to lovers. So I felt a bit :/ at some of the Horrance stuff and Diego/Lila stuff. Not that I hate them! Just... ....Some of it wasn’t to my taste. But that’s okay, I can ignore a lot of stuff!
I definitely don’t hate the pairings! Rather there were a few things in those pairings that personally didn’t blink as “WHEEEE” for me... But I’ll just ignore those elements and focus on the bits I did like and... YAY!
Overall, honestly, I really loved this season. We needed more Kliego, but I loved the Five and Diego interactions, Diego and Luther... Klaus and Allison... Five and Luther... Just. Just. I was really delighted at so many things we saw.
I thought so many of the interactions just shone. I loved them.
I’ve seen some people be really upset and mad and confused etc, about how the siblings were at the dinner with Reginald. I’ve written my thoughts on it here. TLDR: for someone who has experienced abuse from a parental figure, their responses aligned extremely well with my own experiences.
NGL, Klaus being all “T.T” about being touched all the time was.... good?? IDK, it gave me Ideas TM.
I have fic ideas!!!
It’s weird... I thought this was a really Light and Bright season but I also... Know I felt a lot of T.T and hearthurt. In good ways.

Since that one anon yesterday seemed so curious about my reading habits and I answered very broadly, I figured - hey, I’m bored, let’s give a more specific, what I’ve actually been trying to read answer! So, have a little insight into my recent AO3 search history, I suppose!
(So, yeah, this is mainly for you, anon. I wonder if anyone is even gonna read this... especially since it turned, uh, longer than intended... xD”)
First of all, an overall: Fic length. The ideal fic has around 10k length for me, I feel like that’s the perfect sum to make it detailed but not drag it out.
I’m reading everything between 1k and 10k, if it’s close to what I enjoy reading, but I get more picky with more than 10k and anything over 50k is just... immediately out. I don’t have the attentionspan for fics that length. And I’m not a drabble-person usually either (@shirasade  is my exception ❤️).
Okay, so, there are ship-tags that I check regularly, like more than once a month, and then there is Malace, which I check every week. The other ones that I check regularly for Shadowhunters are:
Magnus/Jace, obviously, I mean, yeah
Simon/Jace
Raphael/Jace
Sadly, mostly to emptiness and disappointment. As in, no new fics at all, or no fics that are... after my tastes (also, in the cases of Si and Raph, most are Ma/ec with this ship only as a side-pairing and like nooopeee).
I wish this fandom was... bigger. And, you know, not entirely Ma/ec centric. Like, not saying people shouldn’t ship this, but I feel like many people latched onto that canon ship as their sole purpose in this fandom and that is part of why all other ships kinda turn out to be rarepairs in this fandom.
So, I regularly try reading Shadowhunters fics. Rarely, sometimes, there is something that catches my interest from the summary and tagging and I give it a shot. But... I’m insanely picky so often enough those reads turn out like “Well, that wasn’t entirely my speed” and they end up as once-read-and-dumped, you know?
This month’s hunt however had brought me one Simon/Jace fic that I greatly enjoyed! Hit all the right spots for me. Distressed!Jace, caring!Simon taking care of him and also taking charge, bottom!Jace, some light BDSM thrown in there with sub!Jace, comfort and hugs in the end. Perfect combo. “Tell Me What’s Inside of Your Head”, if you’re curious.
After Shadowhunters, my most searched fandom is Avengers. Here’s the top five of my most frequently, most desperately checked ship tags:
Loki/Tony
Bucky/Tony
T’Challa/Tony
Thor/Tony
Quill/Tony
So let’s slap some “BUT!”s on there. First filter to go in, obviously, is always the language - I do not need to be teased by “look at this prettily tagged fic! but it’s Russian!”. Then, you know, things like “Female Tony Stark”, because the hugest disappointment this fandom has to offer is a brilliant summary and great tags... and then it’s about Toni Stark (and let’s not go to the absolutely stupid ridiculousness that somehow -y is a boys’ letter and -i is a girls’ letter??). Kicking out things like “Top Tony Stark” because nope, or some NOTPs because now that’s a real disappointment when the ship I am looking for is only the temporary stop on the way to a NOTP endgame, yikes. Also, the biggest no I have; Little Play/Age Play.
And yeeeah, in most cases not overly many fics remain there (at least, when you regularly check the tags). I’m also a picky bitch. Like, you will not make me read high school AUs. I just... don’t. Not for fandoms where everyone is a Grown-Ass Man. For things like PJatO? I did, because well making them take place in regular mortal high school is fun. But I don’t like deaging adult characters and totally ripping them outta their environment and removing large parts of the trauma that formed their personalities...
Though, generally AUs. Me reading AUs is me being hella desperate, or the AU being a really fucking interesting thing that uses canon elements and bends them in ways to shape this new world but still keep the key things that make the characters who they are.
Personal favorites, as mentioned in the other post, canon divergent fics. Like the what if Loki was good and joined the Avengers and kicked Wanda’s butt for the way she treated Tony. Or how about Steve was not being an idiot and told Tony about Bucky and they got Bucky to the tower early on, no Civil War necessary. Also the much beloved fix-it ones like Tony fucking off to Wakanda where T’Challa actually cares about Tony post CW. Or Tony fucking off to space post CW and joining the Guardians. And with Thor, I’ll just generally take him taking care of Tony, though I’d also appreciate a “Thor learns about CW and Has Thoughts On That”, also including comfort.
What I’m saying is: I am still not over Civil War and will take anything that either finds a reasonable way to make that bullshit not happen, or to give Tony comfort far away from this fuckery. No “Civil War Fix-It” fics, because... they... don’t fix, they’re mainly fics that just make it so Team Cap is forgiven without repercussions and taken back to being Avengers and All Is Good. That’s come to be the opposite of fixing CW for me.
...And all of that is just my usual search routine that I’ve had for about two years now. Now on to my actual recent search history and cravings! (Is anyone even still reading at this point, I wonder. This might just be the most self-indulgent post I’ve made in... a while xD)
Recently got back into One Piece, as you may have noticed. So, of course, I had to peek into that fandom. Though, well, what I was looking for doesn’t seem to exist. I was looking for an “Omega Luffy” fic. There are two (2)... and neither are my ships. And I wasn’t so much looking for the smutty kind and more the crew as a pack and the interesting aspect that omega!Luffy kicking alpha butts would bring with it. Oh well.
Then my relatively recent rewatch of the fourth season of Killjoys, which made me look for Pree/Johnny fics... which... one. One (1) fic. A good fic, really cute and I enjoyed it a lot, but like... oooneee. That’s very... very frustrating. Not to mention, zero fics for Pree/Gared/Johnny. This was a very depressing day, y’all.
(And yes, as a result of that day, I do now have a document in my folder with a title and a premise but like... I know myself. I get tempted into thinking I’ll write for a fandom and then I never finish shit. Happened countless times before.)
I also got into Umbrella Academy, so I sniffed around in that fandom some too. Ben/Klaus and Diego/Klaus, preferrably both at the same time. Overwhelming how much has been produced in such little time! But sadly... too much Daddy Kink and asphyxiation. I know where both those things come from for Klaus, like I Get It, but they’re still no-nos for me, so that’s a predicament. I read a few, but... mh, I think I haven’t quite figured out what I would want from this fandom so they didn’t entirely wow me. Not the fics fault.
Watching the latest season of Suits the other week had sent me into a search for Donna/Sam, which... does not really exist. One drabble that doesn’t also either feature my NOTP, have them as a side ship only or ends in a threesome. Which, honestly, I’m not too surprised. wlw ships always ARE more rare to find, so oh well.
I got caught up on Black Clover and figured I’d try my luck on that fandom. As usual, I turn out not that lucky. Three English fics for my OTP, because what else is new. Leopold/Asta are cuuuteee. Very depressing.
So, yeah. That’s actually it. Those five are the only fandoms I ventured into in the past two or so months, aside from my two usual searches.

I’m super bored so I figured I make a master post thing of all my fic WIPs mainly to help organise my thought and hopefully motivate me to write more, but also just in case people a curious as to what’s knocking about in my noggin
One-shots:
Klaus and Dave spend their first winter together after Vietnam. The snow reminds Klaus of all the winters he spent on the street but Dave is there to make him feel better
Conversation between Allison and Klaus about what he meant when he said ‘confessing my love to a young gay man who doesn’t know he’s gay’ and ‘carrying the touch for a soldier who doesn’t know I exist yet’
Sort of character study - Dave exploring all of Klaus’s scars & tattoos while they’re in Saigon
Klaus and Dave are neighbors and start leaving post-it notes for each other
Sequel to ‘I’m not dead just floating’ - Klaus coming to terms with Dave being alive; lots of fluff including them getting to go on their first proper date; Diego finding out his brother is screwing his ex’s best friend
2nd sequel to INDJF that’s just emotional smut
Multi-chapter fics:
Rewrite of ‘home is where the heart is’
I haven’t updated this fic in over a year & I wanna redo it in line with S2
Basically Dave lives and Klaus stays. They move into a place in upstate New York, end up adopting 2 kids (Libby & Benji) and basically live in domestic bliss
Sissy is a single mum who lives nearby. Her and Klaus are BFFs. She babysits their kids, Klaus and Dave babysit Harlan & it’s very wholesome
When the rest of siblings time travel after S1 they end scattered across New York in the early 70s. Most of the plot point remains the same - Allison meets Ray who’s a civil rights lawyer/activist; Luther gets involved with the mafia; Diego gets sectioned for going on about how he’s going to time travel and save JFK; Vanya meets sissy & moves in with her
Klaus has a few near misses where he almost finds his siblings (i.e. Dave is reading the article about Diego getting arrest & Klaus jokes about it sounding like his brother. Sissy mentions Vanya living with her/looking for her family - Dave suggest it might Klaus sister but he shuts its down bc how did Vanya time travel??)
Klaus finds Vanya first, but have no idea about that the apocalypse or that their siblings are
Ben gets stuck with another sibling (probably Vanya or Diego) he rips Klaus a new one when they reunite for not wanting to find the rest of their siblings
I don’t really have much of plot details settled but there’s the usual shinanigans of commission and FBI shit. They don’t find Reggie bc someone suggests maybe telling him about the umbrella academy might screw the timeline
I have a few ending including
Super happy ending no ones hurt, Klaus and Dave either stay or go to 2019 but everyone ends on good terms
Dave get shot again, they all go back the future. It’s a close call but Grace is able to save him. Five gives Klaus the briefcase & the option to stay or go back to the 70′s
Super sad ending of Klaus going back to 2019 to help on the promise he can then go back to 1970′s once apocalypse is stopped but something happens and he gets stranded. He has to deal with the consequences of abandoning Dave and his kids. (Maybe Klaus end up meeting his now-grownup kids. They grew up on stories from Dave about how their dad was a superhero who had to leave to save the world, but hold a lot of resentment against Klaus)
Russian doll AU
This one is actually on AO3 but on an indefinite hiatus
No powers AU - Klaus gets stuck in time loop of constantly dying on his birthday.  He meets Dave who is also stuck in the loop and they team up to try and solve it
Commission AU
Handler finds Klaus after Dave dies but before he leaves Vietnam. She offers him a deal - work for the commission & they’ll save Dave. Klaus and Dave become partners in the commission
The handler sends them to 2019 and manipulates them to help trigger the apocalypse
She basically pits Klaus and Vanya against the others with the intention of getting the Umbrella Academy to kill Dave & triggering Klaus to start the apocalypse
Post-S2
After a fight with the sparrows the briefcase gets damaged & Klaus ends up in an alternate timeline where Dave wasn’t killed the two of them settled down together.
The longer he stays the more memories he accumulates from this timelines version of himself & the more he forgets about the original timeline (to the point where he convinces himself it’s all just a reoccurring dream)
He runs into Lila who has been hopping across timelines to avoid the sparrows and the umbrellas. She figures out that Klaus is in the wrong timeline but Klaus just brushes her off
The rest of the umbrella academy eventually find him & Klaus has to choose between his siblings and Dave
Vanya & Klaus role-swap AU
Pretty self explanatory set up - Vanya was a full member of the umbrella academy, Klaus grew up thinking the ghost were just hallucinations
Klaus and Dave (ex-soldier) are already in an established relationship
When five turns up in 2019 he has dog tags instead of an eyeball but they’re too damaged to read the full name/ID number
After he gets kidnapped he gets shot by hazel & cha-cha. After he dies he speaks to Reggie before coming back to life
Patch and Dave save him. No one dies or time travels. Klaus finally has a conversation with Ben and tell Dave about his powers
More shinanigans and basically the apocalypse happens when Dave is shot which triggers klaus’ powers
Could also lead into a sequel following season 2 where Dave ends up in Dallas. Klaus has no memory and his only clue is Dave’s dog tags. Dave also has no clue what’s going bc he was unconscious/bleeding out and just wakes up in a hospital in the 1960s
Actor AU
Hargreeves siblings are ex-child stars who all took fame differently and are spread across the spectrum of ‘continued successful career and avoided major scandal’ (Allison) and ‘developed an addiction as a teenager and completely fell off the rails’ (Klaus)
As kids they all stared in a show about the umbrella academy and all reunite to film a gritty reboot (aka things are super meta)
Dave is cast as in a minor role of Klaus’ love interest and they basically end up falling in love on set as well
S1 fix-it
Klaus brings Dave back to the future after he gets shot
The briefcase screws up and they end up in 2018. Basically an excuse for Klaus and Dave to go on a road trip without dealing with the apocalypse
Probably some comical shinanigans involving Klaus and Dave trying to avoid the past versions of Klaus/the rest of the siblings (could get angsty when they find past Klaus and see what an absolutely mess he used to be)
Ben knows and is just kinda done with Klaus shit
